~~ USS Vesuvius-C ~~
T'Shan worked the consoles as she frowned at the warpcore. Somehow, the three separate cores would not give the efficiency when combined to one core. Separately, they gave an efficiency of 99.7%, but combined she could not get it any higher than 80%.
"Engineering to Bridge, Seliv, something is wrong with the warpcore," she called up, knowing that her twin was on the bridge. She always knew where Seliv was, no matter if she was told or not; it had always been that way. Jatan had tested this ability numerous times, and even her older brother and sister shared that ability. However, the older twins did not share that ability with the younger twins.
<Seliv>
"yes, we are working on it," T'Shan replied, chuckling, then turned when Admiral Martens walked in. T'Shan saluted and greeted him, then spotted someone trying to hide behind him somewhat.
"Father!" she cried, running towards the man she had called father all her life, despite the fact that he really was not, biologically speaking. Giving the admiral a light shove, she hugged Jatan, throwing all Vulcan control overboard. Then, reminded of the admirals presence, she composed herself, and was once more all Vulcan.
"Engines are almost at the ready sir," she said, turning to Martens, still holding an arm around Jatan's waist, "however I am unable to get the combined cores to work about 80% efficiency and I do not understand why they will not. Separeted, they work at nearly 100%. Could you...." She motioned towards the consoles, where her assistant chief engineer, T'Ris was working, attempting to continue where T'Shan had left off.

Captain Seliv Reckus looked up from the miniature console built into the arm of his command chair, and motioned for Nick and Jatan's attention.
"Gentlemen. I'm receiving a transmission from another starship that has just docked. Its commanding officer is someone you may both remember."
Nick and Jatan exchanged glances, Jatan waved his cane in a 'get on with it' motion and Seliv pressed a button on his arm rest. The 20 foot wide viewscreen blinked instantly to life, and was filled by a beaming grin belonging to a face that had not changed in nearly two hundred years.
"Admiral Martens, Captain and Dr. Reckus."
"I don't believe it. He looks exactly the same as he did when he first came aboard the old Vesuvius..." Nick's face was one of open surprise.
"I don't believe they promoted him." Jatan grinned back at the face on the screen.
"Thanks Doc, nice to know you care. I hear you guys are going to try another attempt?"
"Thats right."
"Well. Technically, I'm on six months leave whilst the Maj undergoes refit. I'd like to come along, if its okay with you?"
The USS Majesty D cruised smoothly into dock alongside the USS Vesuvius C, and an umbilical access tube fired across from one ship to the other. A single figure walked across to the Vesuvius, a holograph with a red command uniform that sported five gold pips on the collar. The holograph stopped just before he entered the Vesuvius, and looked back at the pristine lines of the Majesty. He couldn't resist tapping his communicator pin.
"Commander Greenwood, look after my ship for me whilst I'm gone, I'm counting on you."
The voice that replied sounded amused.
"Don't worry Commodore, we'll be in refit all the time you're gone anyway."
Still glancing back over his shoulder, Samuel Ramsden took the last step over, where a pasty faced ensign waited to escort him to the bridge.

<what function did Kahlan T'Pal Hope have again??>
Kahlan grinned at the figure on the screen, as she stood behind the captain. She had heard tales of this person, and now she was going to meet the legend in person. She noticed the reaction of Ramsden's old crewmates, and knew that he was indeed a legend.
She walked up to the man, after he was done greeting his old crewmates. "Greetings Commodore, it is a real honor to meet you sir," she said, holding out her hand, "I'm Kahlan Hope. My parents served on the USS Hanson, where I was born. It is real honor to work with all you renowned officers. I am sure that we will accomplish our set mission, now that you are aboard."
<Ramsden>
She looked up at martens. "Permission to show the commodore the ship sir?" she asked.
<Martens>
Then Claire and Lena walked in, together with Sevus, who was chattng with his 'Aunty Claire and Aunty Lena'. "Greetings Mrs Steenbergen, " Kahlan said, acknowledging the two women, "there is someone here you would love to meet." She indicated both Jatan Reckus, who stood leaning heavily on his cane, and Samuel Ramsden, who looked exactly the same as when he first signed on to the Vesuvius-A.

{Kahlan is in charge of a classified temporal research lab. This fact isn't known to the crew other than the Admiral. Her rank is Lt.Cmdr.}
Nick looked at the group standing on the bridge. He smiled at the reunion of the crew. It was indeed good to see them again. Kahlan walked up to him and asked if she could take the Commodore on a tour.
"In a short while. I actually need to talk to him and the rest of the old and new staff in the briefing room." He motioned the group to the rear observation lounge.
Once inside each took their places, some which they would have back on the A. Nick moved to the front of the room and cleared his throat to call attention.
"Now as most of you know thirty years ago the Vesuvius -A was destroyed in a conflict with the Romulans and a race known as the Forerunners. 15 of us had survived and assumed that the rest of the crew had died, including Commodore Sonak." He moved to the console on the wall and activated it. "The resulting fallout put the quadrant back at each others throats for the first time since the Domion War. And the fact that the Vesuvius lost all hands was true until we recieved this tidbit of intelligence from an unknown source." On the screen apeared the image of a secturity complex.
"Inside we found one lone prisoner in the last stages of death," Seliv said taking a place next to Nick. He pulled up an image on the screen and all around the table gasped. On the screen was the picture of their former commander.
"Why weren't any of us told?" Jatan asked clenching his cane.
"Because we weren't sure if the information was false or not. The team consisted of me and Captain Reckus as we didn't want news to get out in case it wasn't true."
"Well it was true then wasn't it, " Claire said now leaning on the table with interest.
"Indeed. We almost made it out with her alive but she died in my arms in the shuttle."
OOC: I'll continue this later I just got called away.

*A briefing?* Kahlan was slightly surprised, she usually found out about that sort of thing quite a while in advance. Although the number of people boarding the ship did mean things were moving away from what was usual.
She knew all of the visitors of course. Well, she knew of them at least. Many of them were famous for some reason or other, even if it was just because they'd survived when so many hadn't.
Following Martens into the Briefing Room, she sat down and tried to prepare herself for the first meeting in years she'd been to knowing nothing about.
<Will post reaction to Briefing when it's all been posted. And it will be a lot longer than this (I hope)>

<well this will be before the briefing cause i cant miss that now can i?>
After Nick had announced the briefing he looked around the bridge noticing 1 person was missing.
At the same moment the transporter chief announced that Captain Harper had arrived and that he was on his way to the bridge.
Not much later the doors of the bridge slided open and Harper walked in, greeting everyone and apologizing for being this late.
"Glad you could also join us." Nick answered "Come join us in the rear observation lounge for a briefing." he continued.
Harper nodded and walked to the lounge together with all the other officers.
OOC: Okay since it seems i didnt survive i'll play Harper on this threat.

There was some time to get familiar with the Vesuvius C after the briefing, and Nick Martens found Samuel Ramsden in the officer's lounge, sitting off to one side alone and deep in thought.
"Mind if I intrude, Commodore?"
"Oh? Oh, right. Not at all Admiral."
Nick sat down across from Samuel, the lounge was otherwise empty, the crew busy preparing for the upcoming mission.
"So what makes the great Samuel Ramsden sit alone in a bar, when holographs don't drink?"
Nick noticed that Ramsden's expression was downcast when he raised his head. Although holographs don't age the way the living do, there seemed to be more lines on Ramsden's face than Nick remembered.
"Huh... I don't usually go into these places, can't stand the crowds. But its the only place I could find on the ship that was empty. I just needed a moment to ruminate. Hell, I've got an eternity to think, I'm already dead."
"What's up?"
"I've just got a lot on my plate right now. You never met Commander Nik Greenwood, from the original Majesty did you?"
The aging admiral shook his head, and leaned back.
"Well, he and I were good buddies. His granddaughter, Teresa, is my first officer. Well. She's more than that. You see... well... I've only had one relationship in two hundred years, in my entire existence, and then I was alive until it killed me. You see, Teresa and I have gotten close, really close."
Ramsden's expression became more dour, making Nick look back worriedly at him, wondering how things could be so bad.
"She's in love with me. And, I think, I'm in love with her. But don't you see? I'm a holograph, she's mortal. She wants to get married, but someday she's going to... you know... die. Not only that but Nik's not talking to me over this. Now, I'm not even going to see her or my other love, the Majesty, until this is over. And she wants an answer. I really don't know what to do."

OOC: Continueing my brief and the unfolding events . "Indeed. We almost made it out with her alive but she died in my arms in the shuttle." Seliv said softly, "I passed out as she brushed my face before her death." "Really? Thats odd," Jatan said then he looked over at a grinning Nick, "What are you grinning at?" "Well you see the reason Captain Reckus here passed out is because of a mind meld of sorts. A similar meld was documented on the USS Enterprise-A. Captain Spock transfered his Katra into Doctor McCoy." "Then why didn't he go insane?" Claire asked. "Because unlike McCoy Seliv here is Vulcan and fully able to accept the transfer." "So we're essentially talking to her?" Jate asked. "Yes and no dad. I brought her to Vulcan as custom details and the katra transfer was completed. I do however have shadows of her memories and experiences." ~later after the briefing~ "My question to you Sam is what are you feeling you should do. There is bound to be some time in your life where you have to decide. Whats the use in living if you're afraid to be with somone you love. As for Nik, well as sad as it sounds, he's not going to live forever." Nick looked back at his friends angst. ~it won't be long old friend when this won't matter~ he thought to himself. (fill in where you'd like sam ) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yannis paced her office she flipped the object in her hand repeatedly. An intrigueing object, the woman who gave it to her was just as intrigueing. But somthing bothered her about the circumstances behind her getting it. She was on leave at a remote outpost as was her usual poison. The furthur out, the quieter. While she was staying on this outpost she visited a local bar. As she sat enjoying a drink a woman in a dark cloak came to her. "Commander Yannis Martens?" She had asked. "Yes?" Yannis had replied. "Give this to your father. He'll know what it means." The small object, a necklace, was placed in her hands and the woman disapeared into the crowd. OOC: Will continue tomorrow, got an early start...you'll find out what the object is and who the woman is tomorrow. MUAHAHAHA.

Ramsden stood next to Jatan Reckus on the Vesuvius C bridge, where all of the officers had gathered prior to the ship's departure. He was still thinking about his talk with Nick in the empty mess hall, he found a certain irony in Nick's choice of words, as technically he wasn't alive to be afraid of life.
Seliv was sitting in the imposing command chair, flanked by Nick and his first officer. He sat straight as a poker, and calmly ordered the helmsman to depart.
The Vesuvius jettisoned the many cables and umbilical access tubes connecting it to the station, and slowly but smoothly moved away into open space, halting again several hundred meters off of the starbase.

With aid of Admiral Martens earlier, T'Shan was able to finally get the warpcores to function at 99.7% efficiency. "Lieutenant Commander Reckus to Captain Reckus," she called after tapping her combadge, then chuckled. It somehow sounded odd to her, calling her twin by his rank and name, while her name was the same. "Warpcores are working at 99.7% efficiency now, we are ready to go to warp. Cloaking device will work, but when we use multi vector assault mode, it will be tricky. Somehow, the cloak will not work properly then, but we are still working on it."
<Seliv>
~how I wish mother was here to see us now~ she thought sadly. Seliv was there when she had been found, and even as she died, T'Shan had known it, through her bond with her twin, even before Admiral Martens had called her to get her the bad news. She had been overjoyed to see Jatan again, she had not seen him for several months. She did not remember anyone else as parent, not even her own mother. She and Seliv had been but infants when the old ship had crashed, and they had been saved. Later, Jatan had taken them in and finally adopted and raised them. If anything, he was a father to her.
She shook her head and got her thoughts back to her work. Readings showed they were clearing all moorings and exiting spacedock. ~where to now?~ she wondered; she was not apprised of all mission details, and not even her link with Seliv would satisfy her curiosity. "All systems go," she called finally, "I will give a shout when cloak will be at top efficiency, in all modes."

It felt strange to be on this ship, and not in a good way either. Jatan was overjoyed to have seen his kids again for he did truely look upon them as his own. He had helped deliver them and keep them safe, babysitting when he could and teaching them about science and medicine. His heart suddenly felt incredibly heavy and sighed inwardly. He was so lost in his own thoughts that he failed to hear the voice ~ Are you ok buddy? ~ This question was asked of Reckus a couple of times before he glanced up. He recognised the voice belonged to his pal but he noticed that Nicks lips did not move. He smiled sadly. ~ I need to be alone Nick ~ he thought back. ~ Too many memories ~ ~ No one will think any less of you ~ came the reply. Then Jatan felt his mind fill with warmth and a strongness, that travelled through his body. Nick had given him the equivalent of a mental hug, and he sure needed it. He managed a brief smile as he excused himself from the bridge. As he slowly wound his way back to the turbolift the pain in his leg reminded him of when life had been so perfect, and how cruelly that that one mission had robbed him of his one true love. His leg could have been fixed too, but the shrapnel that was there was left to remind him of what might have been. He had felt a failure and these feelings had kept his mind a prisoner for years. He stepped out of the turbolift and into the corridor towards his quarters, the thud of his cane punctuating his slow movement. He walked in the door finally and commanded the doors to be locked, before slumping onto the bed. He gazed out of the window as all his memories came back to the surface. He thought about his graduation form starfleet, and his first and only placement on board the Vesuvius. He remembered the times spent with Chris Majeski, who always seemed to be intent on getting him into trouble. He smiled as he recalled the times theyd been to the bars on shoreleave and how the Elf had never been able to handle his alcohol. Then the whole thing with Sonak - the realisation one day that he would love to be with her; then the episode in the holodeck when he kissed her and she responded warmly.... just memories. He fished in his pocket and pulled out his small pouch that contained various items. He smiled as he pulled out the painting that a once young T'Kimi and Sevus had done for him - their 'Uncle' Jatan. Then he found it - the picture of him at his happiest. It was a digital image of him and Sonak, arms wrapped around each other, looking so happy to have found each other. He carefully traced the lines around Sonak's face, as he used to when she had been alive. He looked at her gorgeous face staring from the picture. Once they had been going out for a while, Sonak had found it stange that she started to exhibit more human like emotions more than she had thought capable. Things like smiling more had caused her concern at first but she had begun to attribute this to her terran lover, and his ability to attack most situations in life with an up beat optimistic approach... Reckus felt his tears sting his eyes and then trickle slowly down his cheeks. "I'm sorry my darling" he said, still tracing his finger around her features. "I'm...so...sorry" He lay back on the bed, sobbing uncontrollably. How he wished he could have done things differently if he had his time again. He was plucking up the courage to ask for her hand in marriage but wasnt sure if she'd go for it. Afterall, Seliv was still in her thoughts and he did not want to degrade the memory of her late bondmate. But then the mission had come up and.... beep the chime on the door went. Jatan didnt want to be disturbed but sensed it was Nick outside. "Come" he managed to muster. Nick walked in and ordered the door to be locked again. His jovial look was quickly turned to that of concern. "Jate are you ok?" Jatan looked up and smiled weakly. "I am now. I'm sorry, I was wallowing in misery" he replied, passing Nick the picture. Nick looked at it and smiled. "Oh nice" he said, looking at the smiling faces staring up at him. It reminded him of him and L'Ola. He passed the picture back. "You two were very good at keeping that a secret for such a time" he said, sitting down next to Jatan. Reckus wiped his eyes and nodded. "From the beginning that was the idea" he replied softly. "Anyway, what can I do you for?" he asked. <nick?> OOC: sorry I cant think of anything else to write at the moment and I just need to get back into the swing of things posting wise

more? *grins broadly* Jate, your posts are still longer than mine! IC: T'Shan watched Jatan leave in a hurry, and glanced at Admiral Martens, who shrugged slightly. They were almost ready to make the first attempt in gaining their objective: save the VES-A from destruction. However, for now she was worried, and looking up at her twin, she saw the same worry flicker across his face, undetectable for anyone but his siblings. The two of them had been raised by Jatan, their other siblings were raised by Claire and Lena, as was the will of their mother, who had left a will before going into Romulan space - that was what the stardate on the document said anyway - and before their fatal mission. She waited a while and only when Nick returned to the bridge, did she leave. Her shift was almost over, and she decided to check up on her father. She knocked on the door of his quarters quietly, waiting to be allowed in. At last she heard the affirmative. "Come." T'Shan entered, looking around and spotted him sitting on the couch. He was holding something in his hands but she could not figure out what exactly. "Father?" she called, drawing his attention, "father are you all right?" She approached and sat down beside him on the couch. The object in his hands was still obscured from her sight, but she did not ask about it. "Beautiful ship, is she not?" she asked, smiling. Her bondmate did not approve of her smiling much, but had accepted it as part of her raising, which she owed to Jatan. She knew he still loved her mother, and she still wondered why he had never sought another woman. When he looked up, she saw the pain in his eyes, and understood what it meant. Ever since her teenage years, she had come to resemble her mother more and more, and that was not easy on him. She gently patted his shoulder, then drew him into a hug. "I miss her," she whispered, "please, help us succeed, so that you two can be together, and so that we will be raised by both of you. I can no longer bear seeing you like this, it is eating you up." <Jatan>

After Nick left, Jatan remained seated on the bed, comforted slightly by his friends words of comfort. He still clutched at the picture and sighed.
"Oh Sonak, how I wish you were here with me now" he said to the picture. Again his thoughts were interrupted by the chime of his door.
~ Damn it~ he thought ~ Cant a guy wallow in pity in private? ~ but again he sensed someone very close to him was waiting outside. T'Shan.
"Come" he ordered. He still sat looking at his picture as T'Shan entered.
"Father?" she called, drawing his attention, "father are you all right?"
He nodded sadly and she noticed the object in his hands was still obscured from her sight, but she did not ask about it.
"Beautiful ship, is she not?" she asked, smiling.
"She is indeed" he replied softly. "A first class starship"
"I'm sorry, forgive me for intruding Father, but I had to see that you were OK. You left the bridge so...unexpectedly"
He looked at T'Shan and studied her features. Now that she was older, she greatly resembled her mother and this did nothing to ease his memories or their intensity. But, it was something that he had to deal with. T'Shan sensed her Father was having a conflict with his memories and she patted his shoulder gently before pulling him close to her, hugging him tightly. He wrapped both arms around her and squeezed her gently.
"I miss her," she whispered, "please, help us succeed, so that you two can be together, and so that we will be raised by both of you. I can no longer bear seeing you like this, it is eating you up."
Not for the first time that day, a silent tear ran down Jatan's cheek.
"I will help you all I can my darling. I long for the time when I can hold your mother again"
He broke their embrace and wiped the tear away, fixing her with the steely look that had long been erased from her memory.
"You just tell me what I have to do"

"Just be here," T'Shan commented, ÿour expertise might come in handy, both command and medical. Seliv will need your support. He misses mother also, but never talks about her. T'Kimi and Sevus tell him he reminds them of our birthfather, and he is having a hard time with it, especially since neither him nor I have ever known any other father but you."
She stood up from thebedandheld outherhand to him. "Come withme, back to the bridge?Itwill almost be like old times." She smiledsoftly, thinkingof something he hadnever beenable to resist. "Iwill makeyou yourfavourite food thisevening, homecooked," she bribed, "and Seklar <bondmate> will assit."

Nick stood facing the viewscreen when his daughter paged him to her office. Seliv nodded in aknowlegement of his leave. He turned and walked to the aft of the bridge where the XO's office lay.
"How may I be of service," he jaunted no sooner than the doors had closed. He took note of her silent repose as she gazed out the window. She watched his reflection as he stepped closer.
"You know I never knew her. L'Ola that is," she said, mind out in the stars. "A woman who was nearly my mother and I'd only heard of her in your stories. A woman of prowess and strength," she said turning and taking a couple slow steps towards her father, "who galantly died in the line of duty taking a piece of your heart with her."
"Sounds about right," he said with a wry smirk, "but what does L'Ola have to do with this?"
"Everything. I hold in my hands the balance to which this mission coursing." She extended her arm and let the necklace dangle before him. All expression left his face and he slumped back into a chair. He ran a hand through his beard and over his scar.
"I had the dna tested against the starfleet database, it's hers dad. She's alive and she managed to find me. She gave this to me and said you'd know what it was," she paused and examined her fathers placid mood. "What is it?"
"I told her that if we were ever separated we'd..."
"Be together through this," A voice completed from the bunk room. A hooded figure stepped foreward. "It's been a long time Nick. Too long in fact." She removed her hood to reveal her face. There L'Ola stood her face unchanged by time, as was common among the Betazoids.
"This is the turning point in our mission dad. Do we continue?"
Nick stood gazing into the eyes of his long lost love. Unwavering he replyed to his daughter, "We must continue. Too much has been lost that should not have been."

Yannis nodded to her father and decided it was best to leave the room, which she did, without saying anything more.
L'Ola watched her leave the room, and turned her head back to face Nick. She still couldn't really believe that she was there.
It was strange, she'd been planning this for so long and yet couldn't think what to say. She knew exactly why she'd gone to the effort of tracking Yannis down, but she also knew why she'd taken so long to start looking.
In fact, L'Ola had only started looking when she heard they were attempting something to do with the crash, and she didn't want to miss out.
It was hard to explain why she hadn't wanted to track everyone down straight away. After all, she had been extremely happy on the Vesuvius. But with the crash and everything that had followed, she couldn't face seeing anything Starfleet again.
Not that any of that mattered now. She couldn't exactly pretend to be dead any more. And even though she didn’t know what to say, it felt extremely good to see Nick again.
Something suddenly occurred to Nick, "Why wasn’t I informed when you arrived onboard?"
L'Ola fidgeted uncomfortably, "Umm… it wasn't exactly general knowledge. I got a lift from some old friends, and Yannis was good enough to arrange with them so no one noticed. I'm not exactly hoping for attention."
"I noticed" Nick commented, "Does anyone else actually know you're here?"
She went slightly quiet and moved over to sit down. "I wanted to tell them, but I haven't seen any of you for so long. And it's really weird."
"I don't understand. You've been alive all this time. Why haven't you told me before?"
L'Ola looked up at him, "I…"
The door opened and Jatan walked in. "Hey Nick, are we ready to…" He stopped and followed Nick's gaze. "What the...?"
"Hi Jatan" L'Ola smiled meekly, "Long time no see."

ooc: not sure if I had brought sevus aboard yet......if I had, forget this post.
ic:
Sevus stood before the docking hatch that lead to the Vesuvius C, commanded by his younger brother Seliv. His younger sister, too, served on that ship. Before coming here, he had contacted his twin T'Kimi, but she had not wanted to come. Ever since the death of their mother, the elder twins had mostly avoided any contact with the crew of the fateful Vesuvius-A....apart from Claire and Lena, who had taken them in and had adopted them.
For a four-year old, being raised by two women is an odd experience, but it had been a good one. Despite being full Vulcan, and having enjoyed Vulcan training, Seliv had also found himself in the Bajoran religion, but he would always remain Vulcan, in every way. He loved his adoptive 'parents' dearly, even thoug he would never say it aloud. Yet, Claire and Lena were Claire and Lena to him, not mother. He was glad they had never insisted he call them mother, for unlike his younger siblings, he had known his own mother and father.
Shaking himself out of his memories, he faced the docking hatch again. ~why am I so reluctant to enter?~ he asked himself ~why do I fear meeting mother's old friends and comrades, my brother and sister, Uncle Jatan?~ He felt a pang of regret now, he had not really stayed in contact with Uncle Jatan, even though he had with Seliv and Shanna. ~No, T'Shan now~ he chided himself.
Taking a deep breath he took a step forward and the hatch rolled open. He waited patiently for the other hatch to open and tapped the shoulder of the guard that stood on the other end. "Sevus Steenbergen (~Steenbergen~ he thought, ~it is still odd to think of myself with a last name~) requesting permission to board sir," he said, "are the captain or the chief engineer available?"
The guard just gazed at him, then nodded. "Captain Reckus should be on the bridge," he said, "and I suppose you could find Lieutenant Commander Reckus in engineering." Now he looked the young man before him over closely. ~end twenties, about half a decade older than the captain...~ he thought ~yes, I see the resemblance now~ "Are you signing on for the mission sir?" the guard asked.
"No," Sevus said promptly, "I am a civillian, a scientist but a civillian. I am here as per invitation from my twin siblings, who invited me on the trip that is going to save our mother. Intelligence reports said that she still lived, though captive in Romulan space." He nodded once to the guards, then found himself a way up to the bridge. Scanning around, he spotted his brother. "Greetings captain," he said, his eyes only showing the joy he felt at seeing his younger brother again."

Seliv stood watching the stars fly by on the viewer. Immediatly he got a sense that he needed to turn around. There behind him stood his brother. His body language betrayed no emotion but his eyes were all lit up. Seliv rushed over and gave his big brother a sturdy hand shake then a hug.
"Welcome aboard."

Sevus stood completely rigid as his younger brother sped towards him and took him in an embrace. "Please," he whispered, only for Seliv to hear, "not here on the bridge." He freed himself gently from the embrace and looked the younger man over. "You look good little brother," he said, "it has been a long time." He looked around and saw T'Shan step from the turbolift, looking equally 'happy'. "How..." he started, but knew instantly. His younger siblings shared the same twin-bond he did with his own twin.
"Sevus!" T'Shan almost cried, as she spotted her older brother. She too took him in an embrace, but hers he did not meet as stiffly as he had met Seliv's. Instead, he returned the embrace.
"Little sister," he whispered, "you look good too. I am sorry that I could not attend your bonding, I had other business that needed my attention more urgently." T'Shan merely smiled, a gesture which Sevus still found an oddity. "I am truly sorry, but T'Kimi sends her regrets. She feels that she is unable to meet the old crewmembers of our mother, because she feels they did not do enough to find her sooner. I must admit, I came aboard with reluctance also."
<Seliv>
He nodded once as he spotted Admiral Martens, then he resisted a smile as he saw the one person he had not spoken to in years. "Uncle Jatan," he almost whispered, shocked at the appearance of the man that had held his mother's love after his father's death. He stepped forward to greet him. "You look.....older," he said finally, unwilling to say that he did not look so good.
<Jatan>
~~on starbase Bellicose~~
T'Kimi docked her shuttle at the station. She had decided last minute to follow her twin, even though she first had not wanted to come. She wanted nothing to do with the old crewmembers her mother had served with, but she did want to see her younger siblings again. It was fortunate that both served on the same ship. Privately, she was proud of her younger brother. She had always assumed the young man would follow their father's footsteps and become an engineer; instead, he had followed mother's footsteps. Her sister, on the other hand, had followed into father's footsteps.
She got out of her shuttle and stepped up to the nearest console. "Computer, locate USS Vesuvius-C," she said. The computer remained silent. Looking around, she tapped the first officer she saw on his shoulder and asked him to assist her. "I do not seem to have the authorisation to access this panel," she said, "I am a civillian pilot. I am looking for the USS Vesuvius-C, commanded by Captain Seliv Reckus. He is my brother you see, and I decided that I wanted to visit him after all." She showed the officer a PADD. "Here is his invitation."

K'ran sat, arms crossed, in his command chair on the command deck of the vast starbase. Not a day went by when he loathed the commanders who came and went on his station. They all had something he had longed for years to have again, and that was command. After the incident at what had been dubbed "the planet" he'd been assigned here. His subordinate Ma'Jel had screwed up too badly for command to overlook his mistakes with the prisoners to let him have a ship again. Thus he was assigned station command.
"Commander the Hutet Class Cardassian cruiser is requesting permission to dock."
"What the frak is wrong with their heads. That ship is almost as big as half the upper docking ring." He let out a loud sigh, "let them dock, but they get bumped when we need the space." ~damn cardassians~he thought~forerunners should have wiped them out when they had the chance~
He looked back down at the padd on his arm rest. He picked it back up, on it was the battle reports from around the sector and him being the largest repair and matinence yard he got them all. Cardassian, Romulan, Reman, Gorn, Orion, and any other race they'd conquered save the Forerunners. They had their own bases in the other dimension. A loud klaxon sounded noting an incoming communication.
"It's for you sir, Priority One."
"I'll take it in my office," he said putting the padd down and walked through the large double doors behind him. He hit a button and the screen materialised on the desk in front of him. On it appeared the figure of a Forerunner, like normal he was shrouded by a haze.
"We have just recieved confirmation that the timeline was not stopped." The words took a second to sink in, timeline.... His eyes widened at the realisation.
"We killed her and her ship though."
"It wasn't good enough. We can stop the Vesuvius all we want but in the end it's Seliv we must stop. And we killed the wrong one 31 years ago."
"What!? You told me that she had suceeded and that the Seliv had died!"
"Our sources have identified that it was not him that we were to kill. It was his son. As you may know the Vesuvius - C has been the biggest problem this alliance has faced. Single handedly that ship has defeated hundreds of our ships. Up until not it was believed that Admiral Martens had been in control of the ship, and that he was for a time. He'd recinded control to a young Vulcan to pursue research on Earth."
"So who is this Vulcan? The son?"
"Yes Commander, his son. However not just his son but the Seliv we were to have killed in the first place."
K'rans face drained of color. All this time their target was alive and causing them massive casualties. The facts began swirling around his head as suddenly things began falling into place. A question popped up in his mind and he asked, "So why call me to humliate my honor again with this?"
"The council has decided to let you pursue and destroy Seliv and the Vesuvius. You will be granted the command of the Flagship M'oljnir. You depart as soon as she has arrived."
"Thank you sir," K'ran said with a bow.
"Council out." The figure disapeard with the dematerializing screen.
~Vesuvius-C~
Nick walked into the Cargo bay to check up on operations. Kahlan noted his entry and gave him a wave of notice. Up on a platform levitated a large glowing sphere. Blue light pulsed down conduits leading out of the sphere and into the floor. All around blue light permiated the darkness of the cargobay and cast eery shadows on the working crew.
Sarah walked over and gave him a preliminary report. "Simulations so far have been promising. We have a 96% chance of making it and a 4% chance of being ripped apart in the fabric of time."
"Lets get it to the point where we don't have that much to worry about. We have to be dead sure that it'll work with no room for error."
"Aye sir." She nodded and went back to her post with a couple other researchers. A couple of the glanced over at the Admiral with a "thats going to take more work than we want" look. Kahlan walked up beside him and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"You always did have a knack for making engineers squirm."
Nick let out a chuckle, "You would know, you've been following me since the Academy, even when you were in diapers."
"Yeah but you're the one who gave me the orders for the time incursion."
"Funny how that works isn't it."
~Runabout Johnston~
T'Kimi let out a sigh as she cleared the docking bay. ~three days already, man am I slow~ she thought, a tinge of frustration of not taking the oppourtunity to leave with them. Hopefully she would reach them in time.
"If they travel at standard warp 5 then I should have no problem catching up with them if I go much faster," she mumbled to herself. Before her flashed information about current whereabouts of various starships in the fleet. Quickly she located the Vesuvius and programmed in her course.
"Computer set alarm for 0900 hours. Engage autopilot and procede to objective at warp 9."
"Affirmative, good night lieutenant." With that the lights dimmed and T'kimi moved to a cot at the back of the bridge.

T'Kimi leaned back in the chair of her runabout. Three days to catch up with the Vesuvius. She had thanked the admiral who had pointed out to her that the ship had left already, the man had been most helpful. ~three days~ she wondered ~whatever am I going to do in three days?~
She leaned back and stretched her limbs, it had been a while since she had done any form of exercise. "Hmm," she pondered aloud, "computer, play 20th century dance music." The computer launched into a variety of songs from the requested era, and T'Kimi jumped up, going through a series of stretching and jumping exercises. After a while, she sank back in her chair, exhausted.
For some reason, she felt nervous. She had not held contact with her younger siblings for several years, not since Seliv had found their mother, and had confessed to them who had been responsible for her death. She had been angry, and disappointed. ~there must be a time for forgiveness~ she thought, and wiped away a tear from her eyes ~and now is that time. I hope I will be on time to witness the saving of the original vessel~
Hours passed as she sat there, lost in memory and feelings of guilt and shame. She had shamed her family, had shamed her mother's memory and had shamed the bravery of her mother's old shipmates. "I must set it right," she muttered. Prior to coming to Bellicose, she had been to Vulcan, to visit the Ancient Hall of Thought. Seliv had held their mother's katra, and had released it in the Ancient Hall of Thought.
She lost herself in memory again, seeing herself again before the great halls.
T'Kimi stood before the great halls, hesitating. She heard the voices of the spirits call to her, but the one voice she sought remained silent. She took one step forward, and hesitated again. ~I am shaming my heritage~ she chided herself ~what are you a coward? Step in there already!~ She took another step, and found herself inside the halls. "Mother?" she called, her voice shaking.
Finally, the voice she sought answered. "Child," she heard her mother's voice, "you have taken long to come here. I sense fear, guilt. Please, tell me, why the guilt? The shame?"
T'Kimi fell onto her knees, sobbing. Her voice broke as she whispered to her mother's spirit why she had taken so long to visit. "I was angry mother," she confessed, "I always felt that you had left us. Now, I know better. If Seliv can confess his guilt, so must I. I no longer am angry, and I am going to seek him out. Please forgive me mother, can you forgive me?"
"My daughter," the spirit said gently, "there is nothing to forgive for you have done nothing wrong. Your feelings are natural. You have not shamed me, or my memory, and I am very proud of you for coming here to face your fears. Go visit your brother, and your sister, and tell them of your fears. And then come visit me again? I would very much like to see you all again, together. And bring Jatan as well? I must tell him to move on, he cannot mourn forever."
T'Kimi nodded and wiped the tears from her face. "Farewell mother, and thank you. I will come back, I promise."
T'Kimi woke from her memory, and found herself sobbing. She peered at the chronometer, still 2 days to catch up on the Vesuvius. She had slept for 8 hours, but she still felt extremely tired. "Computer, warn me when we are within communications range I need to meditate."
"Acknowledged"
T'Kimi walked to the aft section of the runabout, where her sleeping quarters were. She sat down on her bed, lit a candle on the table before it, then positioned herself. Closing her eyes, she began chanting and soon her breathing evened out as she entered a meditation trance.
