Weill was on the bridge, he began to feel queezy, the medecine that he had been given by doctor Lise was upsetting his systems
Weill: " Commander Cavit, can you get the engines ready"
Cavit: " It was not my field sir"
Weill: "I know Commander, i mean the engines will be ready soon, but i need you to get them beyong effeciancy as soon as possible, you know how to balance them etc"
Cavit: " but sir, Commander Dantrek has immobolised us"
Weill: " N argument get on with it"
Weill: " Commander majeski can you go and sort ou the decks, they are in achaotic state, after Commander Dantrek and i went amock round them, which i quite understandable."
Majeski: " yes sir, i will get to it as soon as possible"
Weill: " Could you do it now"
Majeski: " yes sir, may i ask why so quick"
Weill: " I am hoping to have the aways teams back on as soon as possible and i want us to be ready and tidy to leave."
Weill than leant back and thought of what was happening, he than heard that the engines were back at a higher capacity whoich was good for him and for the ship as they needed to be at full capacity.
Weill: " Weill to Lise, i am feeling a bit odd, i think i ought to come down"
Lise: " Of course Captain, please come down at once"
Weill got upon and walked into the turbolift, and looked around, he felt quite ill, he swayed from side to side than luckily the turbolift got to the sickbay deck and he ran around out and than fell into the Sick bay door.
Lise: " Captain,"

Alex was struggling with the Osprey. The combat with the Aerowing had been long and his ship had taken a lot of damage. The worst right now was an energy spike in the power core. It had been getting steadily worse as he tried to rendezvous with a lifeboat that was on course to the nearby nebula. He had been getting around the problem by altering the intermix ratio inside the core, but if the spike got too much worse, he would have to shut down the warp engines. If that happened, it would take hours to catch up to the Raven.
The sensors beeped and Alex could see that he had finally caught up with the lifeboat. Alex verified that his shields were up and that the computer lockouts were in place, then brought the Osprey out of warp.
The starfield collapsed and one of the points of light quickly resolved itself into a Federation lifeboat. Cautiously, Alex approached, sensors at maximum and weapons ready. The lifeboat did nothing but plod along. However, there was a bio trace of Dan Trek aboard, sitting in the control chair. Alex lowered his shield at maximum range and activated his transporter, instructed it to beam anything large enough to be a humanoid of Dan Trek's size into the pattern buffer. The transporter cycled and Alex checked the buffer. Nothing.
Alex quickly transported to the lifeboat and was surprised when he heard Dan Trek's voice as soon as the materialization process ceased.
"Greetings, Commander Dixon. I set this message to automatically play-back when your comm badge was detected aboard. Excellent work disabling the Aerowing. But believe me, you wouldn't have suceeded if I had actually been aboard. As you can see, I am not aboard this Life-boat. I have been coordinating all of this from yet another Life-boat. Although I remind you, there are still 11 left, and all of them, including the one I'm occupying, are headed away from the Raven at Full Impulse. Good luck finding me. DanTrek out."
Alex conducted a fast search. Commander Trek wasn't aboard this lifeboat. Alex deactivated the engines, beamed back to the Osprey and contacted the Raven. "Osprey to Raven. I've just intercepted a lifeboat and it's empty. Commander Trek is not aboard."
Commander Majeski's voice replied "All right commander. Get your ship back here. We're getting an overload in the impulse engines. We need your ship to corral the last of the lifeboats. Take command of the other shuttles and capture Trek. Majeski out."
Right, Alex thought and took a look out at the empty lifeboat. The empty lifeboat. That gave him an idea. Alex accessed the sensors and ran a detailed scan of the mass of the lifeboat, and fuel consumption to date. Then he scanned each of the lifeboats that were still running from the Raven and said "Computer, analyze all lifeboats and compute exact mass in kilograms, display any that show greater overall mass or higher fuel consumption."
Alex examined the readouts. The lifeboat headed directly away from the Raven and the nebula weighed about 100 kilograms more than the others and had consumed about 2% more fuel, which would be consistent if there were actually someone aboard. Alex plotted an intercept course. You might be able to fool computers, Trek, but you can not change the laws of physics. Alex shook his head as a weird sense of deja vu came over him, and then opened a channel to the other three shuttles.
"Dixon to Raven shuttles. I believe that Trek is in the life boat at the following coordinates. Form up on me and we will pick him up together. Raise shields and configure your computers so that they will not accept orders from sources exterior to your ships. And make sure your command codes are locked out and dispersion fields active. Dixon out."
Dixon received acknowledgements from the other shuttle pilots and he set course to rendezvous with them, then the lifeboat that Trek was on.

DanTrek watched on sensors as Dixon boarded the Decoy Life-boat. A few minutes later, Dixon headed away from it. At the same time, all 3 of the remaining Type-9 shuttles launched. All 4 were now coming straight for him.
He quickly changed the focus of the remote-command controls, but discovered that he couldn't control any of them. They had locked him out of the Shuttle Computers. They were advancing on him, and he was powerless to stop them. He was running out of options.
He picked up his tricorder and set up a transporter dispersion field. That would prevent them from beaming him off. He removed the Phaser Rifle from his back, shouldered it, and pointed it at the access hatch of the Life-boat.
Then he waited.
((OFF: Sorry for making this short, but there's not a whole lot of options for me at the moment))

Alex rendezvoused with the USS Falcon, Peregrine and Kite, the shuttles from the Raven, and initiated a complete shut down of the Osprey. The power spike in the core had gotten too serious to continue to fly without the possibility of the core overloading.
Alex opened a channel to the shuttles. "Dixon to Falcon, my shuttle isn't capable of continuing. Transport me aboard on my mark." Alex verified that the security on the shuttle was still powered through the secondary systems and that the dispersion field was still up, then ordered the transport.
He materialized aboard the USS Falcon. The pilot looked over as Alex took the command chair. Sifting his memory, Alex came up with the man's name. It was Lt. Hamilton from Security. "Lieutenant, begin your approach to Commander Trek's lifeboat. Kite, I want you to circle to port, Peregrine to starboard, and make sure that you keep your security up and manual overrides ready. There's no telling what Trek still has up his sleeve."
Alex received acknowledgements and the three shuttles cautiously closed in on the lone lifeboat. "Sir" Lt. Hamilton reported "sensors indicate that the dispersion field aboard the lifeboat just strengthened. There's no way that we will be able to beam aboard."
Alex grunted an answer as he studied the lifeboat. It was like a walnut that he had to crack with damaging the contents. The three shuttles could easily overpower the lifeboat, but Alex didn't want to hurt the commander. On the other hand, Trek had proven to be extremely resourceful and Alex knew that Trek would find some devious way to take advantage of any mistake that was made. And if Trek managed to take over a shuttle, Alex would have to start all over again, assuming that he was capable.
Alex decided to try the diplomatic approach first. He opened a channel to the lifeboat, after carefully making sure it could only carry voice information so that Trek couldn't send any commands to the computer.
"Dan, you're surrounded. I have no interest in continuing this little contest. Please lower your dispersion field so that we can beam you aboard."
Alex waited for a reply while his hands hovered over his console, prepared to counter whatever Trek came up with.

So Alex wanted to settle this peacefully. His mistake. Dan hit the comm circuit.
DanTrek: You're sorrowfully mistaken if you only see this as a little contest, Alex. I will never allow myself to be captured by you. If you are still bent on taking me, I wish you luck.
DanTrek set the comm system to emit an ear-piercing shriek, and then sent the Life-boat into an arcing dive away from the Shuttles. He righted it and sent course again away from the Raven, continuing the shriek over the comm.
A few minutes later, the shuttles were on his tail again. They fired and took out his engines. He was dead in the water. He picked up his Phaser rifle and pointed it at the hatchway.
In a few moments, a Shuttle docked with the Life-boat and the hatchway opened. Dan fired 5 blasts around the hatch as a hand appeared. The hand quickly withdrew.
Then suddenly the Shuttle and the Life-boat lurched and Dan was thrown off his feet. Dixon climbed out of the hatch and shot DanTrek with a Phaser set on Stun setting 2.

Weills body fell to the floor, his face near paralysed, his mind felt confused, he had lost the ability to talk, the medical staff ran to his aide
Lise: " Captain !!!, we have a Doctor on her way, she has some ideas for a cure"
Assistant 1: " Dr he has lost conciousness"
Lise: " Get him to the bio bed"
Weill walked carried to the bed, his eyes flickering, he had lost ciousness but it didnt look like he had, he was dreaming, the most diabolical dreams, he was dreaming of a mission when a cadet when the Briory attacked, his mind was running in flashbacks to attacks, he than opened his eys, he saw the medical staff than he fell back into a very strong coma
Lise: " Get the resustitator, 2 CCs of buerozine, lest see if this does the trick"
Assistant: "His hearts rate are staberlising"
Lise: " The second one seems to be taking longer, again"
Assistant: "Another 2 CCs sir?"
Lise: " yes............... thats doing the trick, i think we have to just wait and keep him stable, i hear that the new Doctor has got something that will help quickly as long as we can keep him like this we are fine.

Amhil turned in her chair inside the small shuttle that was heading for the Raven. It would only take a short while before she would reach it now. She had been send to help cure those onboard who had been infected by the virus and on which the normal cure didn't seem to have any effect. She had no idea what to expect when she arrived, she just hoped that the crew were all still okay.
Amhil approached the Raven and when she came into comm. range she was alarmed when she noticed the lifeboats around the Raven. A quick scan of the area and the Raven itself revealed several shuttles that seemed to follow one of the lifeboats. She also noted that the Raven didn't seem warp capable at the moment, although they didn't seem that they had been attacked.
'Well, they could have been sabotaged of course.' Amhil thought. 'We're dealing with some sort of vampires here.'
Although they weren't actually that, Amhil still called them Vampires. She involuntarily shivered, soon she would be on the same ship as those vampires...
Shaking her head, she told her self to focus on her job. She tapped a few buttons and opened a channel to the Raven.

As Amhil was nearing the Raven still, she was being hailed by the Falcon. She quickly opened a channel and Alex's voice filled the shuttle.
"Shuttle Raven to Lt. Amhil. I have a casualty aboard with some sort of virus. Do you have the ability to cure him before we board the Raven?"
"If this is this is the infected one that didn't respond to the normal cure, I can't help you here." Amhil answered.
"Why not?" Alex sounded a bit frustrated. Amhil didn't blame him, he must have had quite a day.
"I'm sorry but it ain't a matter of placing a hypo to his neck and injecting him with an antidote, Commander. I will need to use a method that's called gene resequencing. It has been used succesfully onboard the USS Vesuvius in a similar case." She replied. "I don't have the right resources to do it here, I'll need to sickbay onboard the Raven." She knew why he preferred to do it away from the ship, but it just wasn't possible. There was an audible sigh from the other shuttle.
"Very well, I'll inform the Raven. But could we hurry? I don't want to be in this shuttle when he decides to wake up...Falcon out."
Amhil couldn't help a small smile while she cut the transmission. She doubted he would wake up before they were in sickbay, they were very close to the Raven. Her massive form filled most of her view. And indeed a short minute later, she was preparing the small shuttle to dock with the Raven.

The shuttle Falcon finally set down in the Main Shuttlebay after being escorted all the way in the Kite and Peregrine. After his shuttle had landed, Alex ordered the other two to continue the recovery of the lifeboats, along with the damaged shuttle Osprey and the Aerowing.
Alex wasn't feeling to healthy as he stepped off of the shuttle and looked around. In the shuttlebay was the heaviest contingent of security that he had seen so far. It looked like the captain had drafted the majority of the crew into the security department to escort the unconscious Commander Trek to Sickbay. Personally, Alex wished that the captain had gotten everyone aboard to do it. It had taken the majority of the Raven's resources to capture Trek, and Alex didn't feel up to doing it again within the next decade or so.
As Alex and Lt. Hamilton carried Trek off of the shuttle on a stretcher, another shuttle landed in the bay and a young woman in a medical uniform stepped off. She walked over to Alex and said "Commander Dixon, I'm Lt. Amhil Eddons." Then she promptly pulled out a medical tricorder and examined Commander Trek. "What did you inject him with?" she asked.
"15 ccs of melorazine" Alex said.
"Well, that should keep him out for a few hours, but we need to get him to sickbay to start the gene resequencing" she said. Then she stopped and ran the tricorder over Alex. A surprised Dixon waited till she was done.
Amhil finished and took a look at the readings, but said nothing. "That's where we're headed. Let's go." Alex nodded to Lt. Hamilton and the group started off. There must have been 30 people in the escort. Alex briefly wondered how they would all get onto the recently repaired turbolifts, but the escort stopped at the doors. When they reached Deck 5, another Security escort was waiting to take them the rest of the way to Sickbay.
All of them walked into Sickbay, where Dr. Lise had a biobed designed for Dan Trek prepared. It had a high strength restraining field and two neural inhibitors to block Trek's mental powers. The Chief Engineer was gently placed on the bed and the restraining field and neural inhibitors activated. Alex looked around to check and saw that there were several Security personel in the room, then checked to see that Sickbay was completely separated from the rest of the ship.
Heaving a large sigh, Alex hoped that this would be enough to hold Trek long enough for him to be cured. Alex looked over and saw that Drs. Amhil and Lise were talking together, probably discussing what they were doing with Trek. He turned and started walking towards the door, until he heard a voice say "Commander Dixon, where do you think you're going?"
Alex looked back and saw Dr. Amhil looking at him over a PADD. "I'm going to the Bridge, doctor."
Amhil shook her head. "I'm afraid that you aren't. My examination of you showed that you have unusually high levels of noradrenaline, seratonin and acetycholine. You also have bruised ribs, minor back spasms and a minor tear of the tendons in your left knee. The only place you're going is that biobed over there." Amhil pointed imperiously at a empty biobed against a wall. Alex opened his mouth to protest, but Amhil shook her head and pointed at the biobed again.
Sighing, Alex limped over to the biobed, and was very surprised to see the next one over occupied by Captain Weill.
Lying back, Alex closed his eyes as a nurse examined him again with a tricorder.

(OFF: Yes, I am still unconscious. This is a dream)
Dan's vision was blurry at first, but then it cleared. He found himself lying on coarse sand in a red desert. Nearyby was stone buildings. He recognized it. It was his homeworld. Standing before him was his deceased wife. He stood.
Dan: Jzk, how are you here? How am I here?
Jzk: This is a dream, my husband. You are unwell, and your body is being cleansed.
Dan: Yes, I remember. What a terror I have been to my colleagues. My first mission with them, and I became a Monster.
Jzk: It is not your fault. You were controlled by another power, one more powerful than your own. But in the Rdn your mind is safe from it.
Dan: Oh, Jzk, how I've missed you all these years. I have raised our children well in your absense.
Jzk: I know. I have been watching you always since my Passing On. You have done well for yourself.
Dan: It was all for you. I wanted to continue to deserve your love.
Jzk: You always have, my husband.
They embraced each other.

Weill focused into real life, he saw Commander Lise over him, she looked concerned, he knew what to think, he was himself again, he tried to get up but the doctor stopped him.
Lise: " Captain, we have nearly purged the substance from your system"
Weill: " Let the great works, rot in the preverbial fire"
Lise: "Captain?"
Weill: " Let rock of ages sing with the sign of few........"
Lise: "He is hallucinating, nurse sudate him we need to remove the rest of the substnce, it is getting to close to his brain"
Weills eyes closed, he was trying to talk to them but what came out of his mouth was not what he wanted to say, he opened his mouth to say," no dont"
Weill: "Cataclism"
He jumped up to release himself, the Doctor sudated him, he lost ciosness again.

Alex opened his eyes and realized that he felt a lot better. His headache was gone and his back and knee felt normal again. A nurse whose name he couldn't remember was leaning over him.
"Commander, your vital signs have dropped back to near normal. Drs. Lise and Amhil say that you're ready to go back on duty." Alex nodded and slowly sat up. He still felt alright. He got off of the biobed and slowly tested his back and knee. They were both a little sore but mostly back to normal.
Alex looked over at Captain Weill. His head was thrashing back and forth wildly, and Dixon could tell by the tiny movements the rest of the Captain's body was making that he was being held by a restraining field. Alex looked over and could barely see Commander Trek. He was surrounded by medical personel and equipment. Drs. Amhil and Lise were conferring in a corner. Alex walked over and the two doctors looked up expectantly.
"Tell me about the condition of the Captain and Engineer."
Dr. Amhil answered. "The Captain is responding normally. He should be fully cured in a few more hours. Commander Trek's condition is stable, but it is taking longer to get the virus out of his system. He will be cured, but I don't know exactly when yet." Dr. Lise was nodding in agreement.
Dixon closed his eyes briefly. That was the first good news that he'd heard in a while. Then another question occurred to him. "Were there any more infections among the crew?"
Dr. Lise answered this one. "We've completed the scans of the crew. There are no other infections."
"Excellent" Alex stated. "Keep me informed of your progress." Commander Dixon turned and left Sickbay.
The doors swished open and Alex had to step around the Security detail that was outside the door. Everyone was still pretty paranoid about the Weill and Trek getting loose again. Alex was fine with that. He walked to the turbolift and went to the bridge.
The bridge was very quiet. Lt. Palan was sitting in the Captain's chair. Alex walked over and said "I have the bridge." Nodding, Palan moved to the First Officer's chair. Alex sat down and said "Where's Commander Majeski?"
"He went down to Engineering. They were having trouble repairing what Commander Trek did to the warp and impulse engines. Otherwise, repairs to the Raven are done. The Aerowing, Osprey and all lifeboats have been recovered. Once the engines are repaired, we can get underway" Palan reported.
Alex nodded and sat back in his chair. There was nothing to do but wait.

Weill woke up, he felt activley better. He leant up and he couldnt due to the restrainging field, he felt frustrated.
Weill: " Hello Doctor, could i come out now"
Lise: " of course Captain"
The field was released than, he leant upright and looked over at Commander Dantrek, he was lying and twitching in the same pattern as Weill had been.
Weill: " Doctor, how is Dantrek.......... "
Lise: "yes sir, he will be fine"
After a while Weill got up and walked out of the sickbay, he straightened his uniform and felt much better, he walked into the turbolift and after a few seconds he was walking onto the bridge, he saw majeski in the Commanding Officers seat and Dixon leaning on the CNO console talking to Cavit.
Majeski: " You look much better Captain"
Dixon: " Here here sir, its good to have you back"
Weill: "Thankyou...............i will be in my ready room"
Weill walked in and sat down, he had quite a few messages, one was from Starfleet Command, Commander Majeski rang the chime.
Majeski: "Sir, are you ok?"
Weill: "yes fine, can you take command of the observation team"
Majeski: " Observation team?"
Weill: " Yes, i want the crew observed, department heads, to see how they are doing, make notes and report to me at regular intervals, Commander Dixon will be acting active First Officer until you have finished"
Majeski: " Sir?"
Weill: " You are FO but i have to observe hi to see if he is Command material"
Majeski: " Yes sir, thankyou"
OFF: Dixon is acting FO, write Majeski into the mission, talk about him obsrving you etc. Majeski can you post in this role and add to it where necessary.

"Engineering to bridge, the warp and impulse engines are back online."
Finally, Alex thought to himself. He returned to his station after chatting with Commander Cavitt. He was just sitting down when a voice over the comm said "Commander Dixon, please report to my ready room." He stood up and walked in to see the Captain. It was nice to see Weill healthy and back in his office at last.
"Hello Captain, how are you feeling?" Alex inquired.
"A little worse for wear, Mr. Dixon. I wanted to say that you did an excellent job protecting the Raven from Trek and I. Nicely done" Weill complimented
"Thank you Captain!" Alex enthused.
"In addition, I have decided to appoint you Acting First Officer of the Raven for a performance evaluation. Commander Majeski will be observing you and several other members of the crew." Alex's eyes widened and Weill stopped for a second to let the news sink in.
"Now Commander Dixon, I have received a message from Starfleet Command. It seems that the planet Kinent no longer requires Starfleet's assistance. We have been ordered back to Starbase after we drop off the Federation paper work on Theta Eradon 4. Please put us on course for the planet" the Captain ordered.
"Aye sir" Alex replied. The Acting First Officer executed a sharp about face and walked out of the ready room. I guess that we'll see how he does, the Captain thought to himself, and then returned to reviewing his messages.
Alex stepped onto the bridge and sat down in the Captain's chair. "Commander Cavitt, our mission to Kinent has been cancelled. Set course for the Theta Eradon system, Warp 4."
"Aye sir." Commander Cavitt entered the commands into her console. "Course plotted and laid in."
"Engage" Alex ordered, with a slightly goofy grin on his face.

(Sorry about the length of this. Was necessary)
DanTrek found himself floating through clouds in the sky. The cloud was black, and lightning danced between the clouds. Jzk was beside him, moving along with him, clasping his hand in hers.
Jzk: It is almost over, my husband. The cleansing of your body is nearly complete.
Ahead it was lighter. The clouds were parting. Ahead he saw blue sky. He reached the end of the clouds, and now the sky was completely clear.
Everything around him, including Jzk, was fading, becoming more blurry.
DanTrek: Jzk?
Jzk: The Rdn is ending. Your body is cleansed.
DanTrek: I will miss you.
Jzk: I am always with you
DanTrek: Good bye, Jzk.
"Who were you speaking to Commander?"
DanTrek opened his eyes. Dr Lise stood above him.
DanTrek: My deceased wife, I saw her in what you might consider a dream.
Lise: A good dream then?
DanTrek: It was. How long was I out?
Lise: Over 18 hours. Dr Amhil cured you by gene resequencing.
DanTrek then noticed the young woman standing behind Lise.
DanTrek: I am grateful. Thank you, Doctor.
Amhil: My pleasure, Commander.
He noticed equipment around his head.
DanTrek: What exactly is that? Gene resequencer.
Lise: A neural inhibitor. We had to prevent you from using your Psionic powers.
She removed them, deactivated the restraining field, and he sat up.
DanTrek: Am I safe to leave Sickbay?
Amhil: You appear to be stable. You'll have to stay under observation.
"Not to mention tight Security watching you."
DanTrek then noticed a young Security Officer standing in the corner.
DanTrek: And who are you?
Security Officer: Acting Ensign Harper, Security Chief.
DanTrek: We seem to have had significant Personnel changes. Anything else I need to know about. Weill is still the Captain right?
Lise: Yes, Commander.
DanTrek: Good, as long as some things are still the same.
He sat up and then stood up.
DanTrek: Well, Ensign, wheres my Security detail?
Harper: We're already here. I'll be leading, and will have 3 other Officers with me
DanTrek: Fine, just don't get in my way while I'm working. Have the turbolifts been repaired? I seem to remember the Captain damaging them.
Harper: They have been.
DanTrek: Good, lets go then.
DanTrek walked out of Sickbay with Security. There was an Officer in front of him, one on each side, and Harper was behind him. They arrived in Engineering a few minutes later.
DanTrek: Don't stay too closer, Harper. I need room to work.
Harper and Security took positions about 5 meters away. Joktel approached DanTrek cautiously.
Joktel: DanTrek?
DanTrek: Its alright, Joktel. I appeared to be cured. The Security is just in case. How're the repairs coming?
Joktel: All of the repairs are complete.
DanTrek: Already? You finished that quickly? Even overriding my lock-out on the Impulse drive?
Joktel: Although it took a while, yes, thats finished too. We repaired the turbolift controls, unfroze the matter/antimatter injectors, repaired the shuttlebay, got rid of your false signal, and unlocked the Impulse drive, repaired all damage inflicted on the Aerowing, the Osprey and the Life-boat you were in.
DanTrek: Incredible. Remind me to put a commendation on your record, Joktel.
Joktel: You know I will.

Weill was sitting in his bridge chair, he had Commander Dixon standing 2 feet to his right and 3 feet in front, he was doing the FO job by standing observing, reviewing but he didnt look comfortable. Weill knew what he was doing and why he felt like that, he remmebered first becoming Acting First Officer for the first time, under Admiral Arok no less, a towring man who Weill was frightened to some degree of. He was a towering Klingon who ran a ship strictley and with a certain soemthing Weill had never come across anywhere else. Though Weill remembered that he settled in.
Weill: " Commander Dixon, you can sit down"
Dixon: "Thankyou sir, i cant get used to this, Commander Cavit how long to destination?"
Cavit: " 2 hours 15 minutes 23 seconds sir"
That moment Commander Majeski walked onto the bridge, he had a padd in his hand, his first stopped appeared to be the Security/ Tactical station, standing observing the CTSO.
Weill: " Commander Cavit, increase speed to warp 7, i want to drop thses off ASAP"
Cavit: " Aye sir"
Weill: " Commander Lise, can you please report to the bridge"
Lise: " Yes sir"
After a few minutes, Lise walked onto the bridge, she donned a long medical jacket.
Weill: " Doctor i have some good news for you, or at least i hope it is a good offer"
Lise: " Sir?"
Weill: " You have been offered a temporary post as training officer for Medical officers, its a senior post and may lead to Starfleet medical"
Lise: " Thats excellent sir............ i dont know what to say"
Weill: " Would you accept or not?"
Lise: " Yes sir i would, if you wouldnt mind"
Weill: " Mind i would be extremley pleased for you to be recognised with such a prestiogious post, especially since it is in your favorite field, of research and development"
Lise: " Thankyou sir, may i ask who will take over my Chief Medical Officers post?"
Weill: " Dr Amhil,"
Lise: " A fine Doctor, i will giuve her the necessary details to take over, may i get ready sir, as i believe its not to long until we disembark"
Weill: " Quite correct"
Lise turned on her heel and left the bridge, her face had radiated a certain joy after the news, the post she was moving to was extremley prestigious and Well was more than happy at her recieving it, especially since she could return to active durty when she wished.
Weill sat back into his chair, getting ready to continue observing and than he saw Dixon lose concentration.
Weill: " Anything the matter Commander?"
Dixon: " No sir, i was thinking about Commander Lise leaving do"
Weill: " Yes........ that is important, would you and Ensign Harper organise itm with Lt Belinia "
Dixon: " Of course sir"
Weill: "Though i would set it for after our meeting and transporttation of documents, perhaps on route to starbase"
Dixon: "Yes sir, will get to it right away"
Weill: " No need to rush, we have some time and a large crew, but do soemthing you think is right for the Doctor"
Weill stood up and moved around the side of the bridge to Commander Majeski, majeski was imputting some data into a padd
Weill: " everything going well Commander?"
Majeski: " yes thankyou sir, i will send a stage report shortly"
Weill than moved around to the other side of the bridge.

After Dan finished checking over the ships systems for any residual effects of his tampering. Fortunately, Joktel and Paria had been quite effective in removing them.
With the ship not currently needing his attention, he returned to the work of upgrading the Tactical Sensors. He went back over to his work area. Paria joined him
Dan: Now, lets see. I have to increase the responsiveness of the system. I've added all the adaptive sub-routines I know.
Paria: Any hardware we can introduce into the system?
Dan: Perhaps. Isolinear processors wouldnt work, the systems full of them.
Paria: What if we introduced Gel-packs into the system?
Dan: Yes, YES! That system doesnt have any gel-packs. But introducing them into it would give it more thinking power. Computer, how much efficiency would the Tactical Sensors have against ECM if we introduced a Gel-pack into each array?
Computer: Approximately 94.8% effeciency.
Dan: Excellent idea, Paria. I'll have to ask the Captain, though.
Paria: Why not go ask him now?
Dan: I will. As you were.
Dan happily strided towards the door.
Harper: Commander, where are you going?
Dan: Deck 1. I have to speak with the Captain.
Harper: Not without us you aren't, particularly if you're near the Captain.
Dan: Hurry up then.
They followed him and they went into a turbolift. Being in a turbolift with 4 well-armed Security Officers surrounding made it a little crowded, but it didn't dampen his mood.
Dan proceeded out of the turbolift and to the Captains door. He tapped the key.
Weill: Come.
Dan walked in, and Security came in behind him. Harper stood next to the Captain's desk, 2 Guards stood 5 feet to either side of Dan, and one stood at the door.
Weill: Commander, what is this about? Is there something wrong?
Dan: No, Captain. They're assigned to me, to make sure I don't relapse.
Weill: I see. For a moment, I though I was being arrested or something. I see your back to work already. What can I do for you, Commander.
Dan: Captain, I'd like permission to augment the Tactical Sensor systems with Bio-neural gel-packs. We would install one per array, which would require 14 gel-packs. It would bring their effeciency against Electronic Counter-Measures up to 95%. Originally it was 90%.

Weill agreed with Commander Dantreks request, and than heard the CONN station at the front.
Cavit: "We are entering the Theta Eradon system sir, dropping to impulse, we will be in orbit of the planet in 5 minutes"
Weill: " Thankyou Commander......... Mr Dixon can you prepare the delivery"
Dixon: " Yes sir, we are also due to pick up a rare drink for the Admiral Magellen on Starbase Assilant.
Weill: " Ok please bring it aboard and send it to my ready room, i would like to see him when we get back anyway"
Weill stood up and than walked over the Majeski
Weill: " Commander have you got the hourley reprt from 3 hours ago?"
Majeski: " Yes i am sorry sir, i have got a bit rapped up in the task at hand"
Weill: " I know how that feels, so how are the crew coming off"
Majeski: " very well sir, Commander Dixon may be taking my job if he keeps up like this he is very very effective, though i would say a little inexperianced, but of course that wil come with the passage of time"
Weill: "Of course it will, i remember first becoming a FO, Admiral Arok as a CO, he was quite soemthing to learn under, very stern but also very effective, not to mention being one of the most senior officers in the fleet"
Majeski: "The other crew are quite good, though we need to guide out acting Ensign, he seems at times a little aprehensive to order thoses around hima bout, but that is also understandable"
Weill: " Yes thoses older than you are very difficult to order about, my deputy as COO on the Olympia was more than double my age he was quite happy to stay at his position but i did find it hard to tell him what to do"
Majeski: " Sir i will get on, got to go and check engineering now"
Weill: " Dont get in Dantreks way, that is his home and i dont think he likes intruders."
Majeski: "Yes sir, i most certainly wont touch the warp core i might be throne out on my ear hahaha"
Majeski turned and walked to the turbolift, Weill also walked around and sat down in the bridge chair.

Amhil was glad everything had turned out fine, both the Captain and the CEO had been cured successfully. Although Dan Trek was still under observation, which actually meant being followed around by a few security people. Amhil felt sorry for him, if it would have been her she would have been very annoyed by this. Commander Dixon too, had returned to duty, but Amhil had told him to take it easy. She knew he would still feel his knee from time to time, like after some sort of training on the holodeck or things like that. She knew that some people could mistake 'You may return to duty' as 'Try to exhaust yourself as much as possible'. But she had full confidence that in about a week he wouldn't feel a thing anymore. Now the whole Vampire deal was over, she could sense that the crew was more relaxed, even though she had only been here for a very very short time.
First Amhil had thought about going to the Station when they would reach it. And after that, who knows? But now that Doctor Lise had been offered a new job, Amhil would stay to take her place when she left. A small smile appeared on Amhil's face. Of course it would take a while to get used to everything and the people onboard the Raven, but she still felt the old familiar excitement of being on a new ship. Well, new for her anyway. A path to new opportunities and new friendships lay ahead. And maybe, Amhil had to remind herself, new enemies. But she seriously hoped not.
She had been assigned to her new quarters, and now she was on her way over there. She would be busy getting all her stuff in for the next 2 hours or so. And maybe after that she would go to the mess hall and grab a bite.

Dan about faced after recieving permission and went back to the turbolift. He went back to Engineering.
Paria: What'd he say?
Dan: He gave us the go-ahead.
Paria: Great! How many will we need for this?
Dan: 14, if we're going to put one in every array.
They headed to the Upper Level. Paria climbed the ladder, but just as Dan was about to ascend, Harper stopped him.
Harper: Hold it, Commander. Two of us are going ahead of you.
Dan: This is getting tedious, you know that?
Harper: But its necessary.
Two of the Guards ascended, followed by DanTrek, with Harper at the rear. Dan went over to Paria, who already had the compartment open that held the spare gel-packs.
Paria: We've got 40 here, so 14 shouldn't be a problem. ::she looked at the Security detail:: Getting tedious arent they?
Dan: Starting to. Wonder what they'll think when I have to start crawling around the Jeffries tubes installing these.
Paria: Joktel and I could handle it. Its not that difficult a task.
Dan: I'd appreciate that. Harper would have a fit.
"Commander DanTrek?"
Dan turned and saw Commander Majeski standing in the Observation, looking up at him.
Dan: Please don't tell me you're here to keep an eye me too.
Majeski: No, I am here to observe how you and Engineering are doing. The Captain asked me to evaluate all Ship's departments.
Dan: Very well. I'll be right done.
Paria now had the gel-packs in a large storage containers. She headed back down the ladder.
Dan: Lets go , Harper.
Dan and the Security detail headed down the ladder. Paria and Dan approached Joktel.
Dan: Joktel, go with Paria, she'll fill you in.
::She held up the case:: "Gel-packs."
Joktel: Very well.
They headed to a Jeffries tube.
Dan: Computer, run a Level 4 Diagnostics on the Warp Drive, Impulse Drive, Internal Sensors, Environmental Control, the Brig and Turbolifts.
Computer: Working.
Dan: Well Commander, unfortunately you may get a little bored. Not much we're doing right now beyond regular maintenance.
Majeski: That's fine, Commander. Gives me a chance to see you normally operate. Whats round of Diagnostics you just ordered for?
Dan: To make sure there are no lasting effects of the tampering the Captain and I did to them.
Computer: Diagnostics complete. All systems normal.
Dan: Excellent.
Majeski: How exactly did you get out of that Brig anyway?
Dan: I used my psionic power to put stress on the power coupling leading to the Cell I was in and severed it. I then re-focused that energy at the Security Detail and knocked them against the wall. But don't worry, I'll never try something like that again.
Majeski: I certianly hope not.

Alex sat down at a table in the Mess Hall and closed his eyes. It had been a very busy day, and he was looking forward to some off duty time.
While sitting at the table, he spent some time reviewing his first duty shift as Acting First Officer. It had been pretty routine, for the most part. His only unusual decision had come about 2 hours in, when the doors to the turbolift opened and Lt. Kaplan, a Tactial officer, Lt. Collaan, the Head of the Planetary Sciences Department and Lt. Quarel, the head of Stellar Cartography all stepped onto the bridge, all wearing similar angry expressions.
Lt. Quarel, Alex's Ferengi Assistant head of Sciences, began. "Sir. I want permission to use the main starboard sensor array to observe the Compar system. It's an uninhabited double star system 4 light years from here. For some reason, the gravimetric balance of the stars has become unstable and the two stars will collide, destroying the system. Nothing like this has been seen locally before!"
Lt. Kaplan stepped in front of the Ferengi. "Sir, Lt. Collaan and I would also like to access the starboard array. Standard sensor sweeps have determined that the pre-warp civilisation on the third planet in the system Kappa Omicron is conducting some kind of space war game, as a possible practice for invading the fourth planet, which has a pre-industrial civilization on it."
Alex was a little surprised at the lack of cooperation among departments, but knew he had to deal with it. Almost automatically, he was going to give access of the sensors to Quarel. Alex was a Science officer and felt that observing the unexpected system collapse was more important than the war games of a pre-warp planet.
Then he thought about it some more. If the pre-warp planet was capable of launching an attack on another planet in it's system, it could easily develop warp tech quickly. Alex suddenly had to consider Starfleets' and the Federations interest in such information. In the long term, having the best data on the Kappa Omicron system was more important, as they might have to deal with a First Contact situation.
"Lt. Kaplan, Tactical and Planetary Sciences have access to the starboard sensor arrays till further notice. Lt. Quarel, prepare a Class 8 probe and launch it towards Compar system to observe the collision. If the collision is still going on after the war games are over, you can use the starboard sensors. That will be all." Alex looked at the three officers.
"Yes, sir" they had all said and left the bridge. Lt. Quarel had looked a little disappointed.
After that little fiasco, the Raven had finally arrived at Theta Etadon. Alex ordered the ship into a standard orbit and a channel opened to the Federation delegate.
"Federation Delegate Nerar, this is the USS Raven. We have a priority package for you from Starbase Assailant" Alex said into the comm panel.
An irritated voice answered. "Finally. The case was supposed to be delivered many hours ago. What have you been doing?"
Alex rubbed his face. How would he explain being taken over by vampires? "We encountered some unexpected delays, sir. However, we are here now and ready to transport you aboard so that we can receive the case. Are you ready to beam up?"
"Affirmative, Raven. Try not to take to long. Nerar out" the man said sarcastically.
Alex left the bridge and went to the secure lockup in security, where the diplomatic case was being kept. After signing it out, he carried it to Transporter Room 1 and had Representative Nerar beamed up.
The Representative was a Tellarite. Alex confirmed his identity with a bio scan and handed over the case. The being took it impatiently and stepped back onto the transporter and he beamed back to the planet without speaking a word.
Now Alex sat in the Mess Hall, trying to unwind. As he sat there, he saw Dr. Amhil walk in and look around. The majority of tables were taken, so Alex walked over and invited her to his. With a smile, she agreed and the two of them sat down.

After quite a few hours of routine maintenance, during which Majeski finished his evaluation of Engineering and left, Dan finally decided to go off-duty.
As he went out of Engineering, he heard the ever-familiar footsteps behind him. He turned around, slightly annoyed.
Harper: Where are you headed now, Commander?
Dan [almost exasperated]: I am headed to the Mess Hall, and then my quarters. Unless you intend to have Security standing over me while I sleep, I suggest you relent your Guard.
Harper: Very well, but I will be keeping an eye on you through the Internal Sensors.
Dan: You do that.
Dan headed to Deck 2, and into the Mess Hall. He noticed it was rather crowded. He went over to the Galley and got something to eat. As he looked around for a place to sit, quite a few Engineers offered him various places to sit. Then he spotted Dixon and Dr Amhil sitting at one of the tables. He went over to them.
Dan: May I join you?

Amhil placed the last of her photo's on the nightstand next to her bed. She smiled as he looked at it, it was a picture of her mum, 2 of our cousins (A few weeks before they both got their first assignments on the same federation ship) and herself when she had been around 16. Of course her dad wasn't in it.
She sighed and turned around to look at the time. She was surprised to see she was done so early. Maybe she could quickly read the beginning of the next chapter in the book she had been reading before she would go down to the mess hall. The book was very interesting but she hadn't had the time to read anything the last few days. Although it was hard, she decided she would go and eat something first.
When Amhil entered the mess hall she saw that most of the tables were already occupied. She walked over to the replicator and ordered some nice banana pancakes. She leaned over the plate, she could smell the faint hint of banana in the pancakes. The syrup lay on and around the pancakes..just the way she liked it.
She turned to look for a place to sit when she noticed Commander Dixon coming her way. He invited her to his table and she gladly accepted. They sat down and Amhil turned to her pancake. She took a bite and smiled before she looked at Alex.
"So how's your knee?" She knew it was a typical doctor thing to ask, but she just couldn't help it. However, before Alex could answer the massive form of Commander Trek appeared next to them.
"May I join you?" He asked. Amhil quickly looked at Alex before turning back to Dan.
"Of course, take a seat!"

Alex winced slightly as Amhil asked Trek to join them. He knew that Trek was cured from the virus, but he was still a little nervous about having the Engineer around. He would just have to get over it.
The chair creaked as Trek sat himself down as Alex watched him cautiously. Dan seemed to sense the Science officer's unease, and he seemed a little irritated by it. Alex had no idea why.
"So...how go the repairs in Engineering?" Alex asked tentatively.
"Everything is fine" Trek said, rather angrily, then took a deep breath. "Sorry, but Security has been following me around for several hours. They're monitoring me right now. Just a little tired of it is all."
Amhil nodded sympathetically. "I understand, but it will pass. You're cured now." She hesitated for a second. "What race are you, anyway?"

Dan: The name of my species is pronounced Djzxx. Don't worry if you can't pronounce it. Our language is unpronouncable by humans. You wouldn't be able to pronounce my name, either. We are a rather xenophobic race from the far reaches of the Federation. I chose to ignore the tradition, and joined Starfleet.
Amhil: I noticed some physiological intrigues when I examined you. The size of your heart, your slow pulse, your low body temperature, the texture of your skin.
Dan: Indeed. My heart is proportionally twice the size of a human, and with our large size, that makes it almost the size of your brain. The slow pulse is due to its large size, because since it can pump more blood per beat, it beats less often. The low body temperature is because of the cooler temperatures of our home-world.
Dixon: What is you then that was responsible for how cold it got?
Dan: Yes. I developed a heat sensitivity due to the virus, and it was too warm for me. So I changed the temperature and locked out the controls. My apologies for the chill.
