It was nice; a relief, actually. To be back whole as a crew again and off to their next adventure together felt so right. Her crew was resilient and difficult to fluster. Kay sensed they would all be even closer now, a tighter knit group than ever before. Exciting times lay ahead for the USS Majesty.
To help the newest crew members settle in, Kay had invited all senior bridge officers to the Captain’s quarters. BB’s were so much bigger than her present quarters that she didn’t think he’d mind her borrowing them for such an occasion.
With the help of the ship’s galley, she had a small smorgasbord set out, hoping to score on someone’s favorite dish. She poured herself a glass of lemonade and waited for her first guests to arrive.
Being in Kruse’s old quarters bathed her in nostalgia. It also gave her that familiar tightening in her gut. Though it dissipated as she grew more comfortable with him, Kruse had always made Kay reverentially nervous and being in this room brought those same feelings. Then again, perhaps she was just fearful that any moment a giant head would appear and shout at her to stay out of his quarters.

Outside the quarter doors, Aarons and some (some) of the crew gathered to meet the captain at her request. Aarons: "I don't know. I feel like we're violating 1-9 of the commandments." Hawk: "What's that?" Aarons: "Ahem, don't go in Kruse's quarters." Hawk: "Oh." They were bid inside and as they entered, the smell exited. It smelled like... absence... and whatever that stuff Kay had laid out. Every gathered member spread fanning out. Kay arose from her spot. Kay: "Once we're all collected, I'd like to adress you all."

Will found his way to the COs quarters. He was told that it was going to be some sort of a get to know everyone kind of thing. He chimed his arrival and was given permission to enter.
"Hello, Ma'am." he said as he entered.
He noticed that Aarons and Hawk were there as well and decided to introduce himself. He didn't get to speak with either of them much on the previous mission. Although he did follow Hawk around quite abit.
"Commanders." he said. "Will Jamison. Nice to meet you both." he added as he extended his hand.

Liz had been pretty busy with things, and found time, even though it felt like it stood still, had passed too quickly. She cursed, and hurried to see if how the captain might reprimand her for this.
She arrived, and quickly tried to mingle as if she had been there the whole time. It didn't seem to work though. Liz wished it had, but stopped trying after awhile. She noticed the food, but decided not to go for that just then. She was hungry, but she didn't want to show the crew her lack of manners.
After a little while Liz walked around, and to avoid hitting into someone she side stepped litterally bumping into someone else. She turned around and she saw the captain sprawled on her stomach. Liz gulped then walked over to where Captain Cornette's head was.
"I'm sorry, Captain, I didn't mean to knock you down," she said offering Kay a hand to get up. Liz noticed a look in her eye, and knew that she was in some kinda trouble from this. She wondered if the other woman would be taking revenge for this act, even though it was innocent.

Kiara had managed to find her quarters okay and was settling in, she hadn't had time to get settled since she left the Academy, it was nice to have a break, she remember the party was to start soon if not already, she put on a bajoran style outfit and clipped on the Bajoran earring she had received as a gift from one of the Bajoran Delegates that her father knew, she smiled to herself and then exited her quarters and made way to the turbolift, upon arrival she entered the turbolift and gave it orders.
*Co Quarters* she said always filling akward giving orders to someone that wasn't really there. before she knew the turbolift came to a halt and she exited the turbolift and turned down the corridor finding The Quarters she was told to arrive at, she entered to find everyone mingling and an array of food on tables at end of the room. and she also noticed that one of the officers was helping the What she presumed by the pips on her collar Captain. she smiled at a nearby officer.
*whats going on here?* She said with a serious tone and a smirk on her face.

Aarons: "Well, the captain decided to condemn us all by having us set foot in Big Bill's quarters and has tried to sway us with food saying she has something to say once we're all here... and the doctor knocked her over." Kiara: [bleep] Aarons: "If you say so." He walked off.

TEG sat staring at the LCARS screen in his quarters. He had just finished his report on the search for the Book of Birds, when the chronometer on his desk began to play "Get Back". How appropriate TEG thought, two missions prior to the one they just finished involved things similar to the theme of the song. TEG chuckled under his breath as he slipped on his uniform jacket and made his way across the saucer to Big Bill's quarters. TEG was always curious as to why the manifestations of Big Bill Kruse would wish that no one enter his quarters. It is not as though there was anything interesting in his quarters, aside for some artifacts, and a menu from a diner in Humptulips, Washington. TEG was always curious as to where Big Bill was in the crazy mixed up universe, but he figured that although death may try to get him into mischief, Christine was always there to be a breath of sanity. It was at this point that TEG missed one of the many 90° jogs in the corridor on the Sovereign Class USS Majesty, and walked right into a bulkhead.
TEG was mystified, while rubbing his now sore head, as to whom would have designed an ovular saucer section, but put several sharp turns in the corridors instead of a gradual curve that had been common on starships since the UESPA Starfleet began building starships in the 2200s. TEG did realize that he was only a few meters from the missing CO's quarters, and straightened his uniform appropriately. The door was programmed to open when he approached, so he walked right in. The first thing he saw Dr. Janeway helping Kaylana off the floor. As the door closed behind him, Kay acknowledged him.

"Thank you Doctor." Kay appreciated her medical officer going so far as to help her up. More so than she appreciated being knocked down by her in the first place. "I'm sorry Captain." Liz felt really bad, but more embarrassed that she looked so clumsy doing it when in reality she wasn't. "Well I'll be dipped, all this time I've been responding to 'thank you' with 'you're welcome'." "Michael, quit being a jackass." "But Captain... It's what I do." The captain remembered it was healthier to ignore the navigator than argue with him. To do so would be like arguing with a time bomb, inevitably it'll blow up in your face. Hey y'all, I just made a simile hee hee! The captain signaled everybody to order since by now everyone should have been there. "Attention gullib- I mean, glorious crew." Everyone's attention was focused on her. "There have been strange, very powerful waveforms emanating from the direction of Kavis Alpha IV." She waited for the ramifications to sink in. Having figured no one knew what she was talking about, she signaled for Michael to do his part. "That planet the Enterprise left them nanites on at the end of "Evolution"." "Oh yeah!" "It's a tie-in mission." "We were bound for one of those!" "I can do that." "Now that we're all familiar with fine details of this mission, let's continue. The Majesty and by extension us are the lucky ones who get to find out what is going on and report back to Starfleet our findings. Nik, Kiara, and (I can't believe I'm saying this) Michael you'll need to go hone your technobabble skills. Hawk, as the Operations Officer it might be beneficial for you to be useful in that manner as well. Dr. your orders are to get yourself relieved of duty either by angering me or having emotional instability while TEG and I provide sporadic, long-winded posts and Aarons continues to be a conceited narcissist." "Wait, did the captain just give us orders or list off character cliches based on our performances in past missions?"

Kay made a concerted effort to find and talk to her new CEO, Lt. Sienta. From looks alone she was young – very young – and Kay couldn’t help but wonder if she could handle a sovereign class so fresh out of the Academy. As she often did, and hopefully to no one’s knowledge, she evaluated her through idle chit chat.
(Kiera)
"Ahh, Commander Jamison," Kay caught him conversationally as he was making his way to the canapies. "I'm extremely happy you've decided to remain with us for a while. I'm also grateful for all your assistance during our last mission."
(Wil)
Kay also made an extra effort to speak to Liz. The Doctor seemed overly embarrassed about plowing into her earlier and Kay was beginning to think that any emotion this gal bottled up was a potential couch slicing/room wrecking/suicidal thought-provoking powder keg.
“You know, Doc,” Kay said casually after handing her a glass of lemonade, “I had thought of suggesting you should place a punching bag in your quarters – sort of a stress relief valve. But, if you prefer to use me…” Kay smiled and conspicuously rubbed her sore knee which had taken the brunt of their earlier collision.
(Liz)
Looking particularly sullen, Hawk was lingering near the punch bowl. He was desperately waiting for a good opening to leave without looking too rude. Kay slipped her arm through his and skirted him away to a private corner.
“I know. You didn’t get the closure you needed. Neither did I or the rest of the crew, for that matter,” Kay said sincerely. “Now, all we can do is write our own ending one day. The history of your origins doesn’t have to remain a secret forever.”
(Hawk)
Kay hushed the room in preparation for her announcement. Not surprisingly, Aarons preempted her. She felt the imaginations of her crew running wild as Michael refreshed their memories regarding Wesley Crusher’s sentient nanites. The Enterprise-D had indeed placed them on Kavis Alpha IV and Starfleet had indeed meant to check on their progress from time to time. But, as with so many mandates of the bureaucracy, duties steeped in red tape were usually forgotten – until something on the order of unusual power waves quickly refreshed your memory.

"So how come no one has ever checked up on this place before?" Hawk wasn't too sure about going in so blindly.
"You know what they say, the bureaucratic mentality is the one true constant in the universe."
"Michael don't be so glib. Besides, Starfleet never checks on anything it leaves somewhere."
"Yeah, remember the whole business with Ceti Alpha V?" Kay managed to tell Michael he wasn't helping without words merely by the evil glare she shot him. Michael on the other hand decided against being stared to death and left.
Once he was on the bridge, it didn't take him long to link to Starfleet Stellar Cartography to pull up Kavis Alpha IV. The so-named Kavis Alpha Sector was binary in nature to a neutron star and a red giant star. Every 196 years the neutron star would suck matter from the giant and explosively expel it into space. Thankfully the next occurrence was far off from now. He studied the nature of space to and around the sector and began designing the trip in his mind how to get there. At Warp 6, there would be plenty of time to let the others have their fun before making even a significant distance there.

Liz shook her head. "Sorry again captain. I didn't mean to knock you down, it just happened. I meant to zig when I should have zagged."
She listened to the briefing. "Why is it always a planet with the name Alpha in the title? I mean come on, there are really good planets out there with better names, someone should shoot for something with Beta in the title, maybe blow it up or something so the rest of the Greek alphabet doesn't feel bad," Liz said realizing she probably still didn't make a whole lot of sense. She noticed a couple of looks shot her way, and she decided not to pipe up again.
It seemed things were going to get interesting, and Liz wondered if they would ever just get a chance to rest from their labors. ~I do have some time stored up. I could take a vaccation if needed. I might have to look into that. This is probably the best thought I've had all day.~ She thought nodding her head at the appropriate times only half listening to the conversation as she tried to plan out a nice little get away for herself.

Majesty was kicked into Warp 6. While the others had there fun wrestling, or whatever the doctor was doing with the captain, Aarons felt compelled to go about the assignment at hand. The ship trotted along at the relatively slow relativistic speed while passing a myriad of stellar phenomena.
"That's okay doctor. It's understandable to want to make a few patients for yourself on this quiet ship." Kay moved off to other points around the room. "Ah TEG, you're here. I didn't see you around."
"What, seriously?"
"No. Tell me, when did we start moving?" The captain noticed the starship was no longer at rest by the movement of the stars outside.
"It seems our little flight-jockey has already gotten to work without us."
"No problem. I doubt we'll be here much longer anyways."

Hawk was quite excited about the prospect of the next assignment drawn by the Majesty. He was not so pleased with the choice of meeting places since the memory of Commodore Kruse was still very vivid in his mind. Hawk believed Kruse was not at all taken with his return presence on the Majesty. Hawk even believed he could feel the presence of Captain Kruse looking over his shoulder on the bridge.
As Hawk drew closer to Big Bill’s quarters, the feather like hair on the back of his neck stood on end. Hawk stopped directly in front of the doorway and pulled at his collier, cleared his throat and straightened his uniform. Hawk reached out nervously to ring the door chime and as he pressed it nothing happened. Hawk again pressed and held it but still nothing happened. He back away from the door when he believed he saw a large head, which held the image of Commodore Kruse’s face upon it. The head seemed to be blocking him from entering the room.
Soon other senior staff came down the corridor and Hawk entered as they did.
Hawk was near the punch bowl when the Captain approached him and led him to the room’s corner.
“Indeed Captain I did not get closer, but the worst of it is that now I have more unanswered questions than ever before. I can not seem to quit thinking about it all. Even you, Captain, started to doubt me,” Hawk admitted.
“Whatever do you mean Hawk?” ask Kay in a coy voice.
“Do you think that I did not notice Jamison hanging around me? You sent him to keep an eye on me,” Hawk chirped.
“Yes I did send him because I feared for your safety. I believed that those other Falconians might try to get at you,” Kay reassured him.
Others grew closer to them and Hawk was unable to continue their private dialog at that time.
Hawk backed away as Kay began to give the briefing.

The Majesty weaved and worked its way through the mires of space on its way to the Kavis sector. On the way they passed three cosmic strings, two of which were noticeable. The trip was starting to take its toll on the unnecessary slowness of the ride.
Aarons couldn't take it much longer. There was something happening that they were going to deal with and it was taking too long to get there. He decided to increase to Warp 7, 7.5 at the maximum. It wouldn't hurt to get there any time sooner.
OFF: Seriously guys. Either wrap up the briefing angle or give me something to work with or else I'm gonna have to skip to the planet so I can get some material. I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel just on this post.

Things were done, and Liz headed back down to sickbay not really feeling there was much to do about this mission. She briefed Trish on what was going on, and sighed heading into her office. Trish followed her.
"You still don't look good. Weren't they able to help you?" Trish said worried. "Some, but overall I'm still a mess. It more controlled now than before. I won't go around slashing furniture, although I did literally bump into Captain Cornette," Liz said laying down on the couch in her office putting her arm over her eyes. She felt like crying again, then she felt like hitting something. She wished she could get more control and be less of a mess, but it didn't seem to be working.
Liz had tried to think of ways to help her become more balanced again, but nothing was working. She knew she had a family, and wondered if she should go consort someone who could be a brother or sister to her.
Liz entered the turbolift and found it wasn't empty. A guy was in there, and she noticed he seemed to not shy away from her so easily like most did when they saw her.
"Hello, I didn't realize I wasn't alone, but am glad I am not. You are new right?" Noticed he only nodded. "Yeah I thought so. Doc. Liz Janeway, the crazy not so good doc right now. Don't know what you've heard, but I hope nothing too recent or horrible," Liz said noticing how cute he was. She tried to push that to the back of her mind, but it didn't seem to work.
(Will)
"Okay, well maybe later we could get a drink or something," Liz said before getting out on the bridge. She noticed several people about, and went over to the helm instead of her first thought.
"Do you have time to talk to me?"
(Michael)
"Well, I really need to talk though, don't worry it isn't medical related unless you count the brain. Still it doesn't have to do with work. Doesn't that mean anything?"
(Michael)
OOC: There something for you to work with, Michael, and please don't sim for me.

"Do you have time to talk to me?" "I thought we made it clear you weren't supposed to come near me and I wouldn't crash the ship into something big and heavy." "Well, I really need to talk though, don't worry it isn't medical related unless you count the brain. Still it doesn't have to do with work. Doesn't that mean anything?" "I've told Kedzie many times those voices were just because I left my comm-badge open." <Liz: > Michael hadn't the slightest notion to trust her. Knowing the captain and that she's aware of the approaching holiday, he considered this a sick joke to send the doctor at him like this. "[bleep]" She was feeling something. What do I look like an empath or something? "That really sucks." He still wasn't sure about her. "[bleep]" Seriously if you want to know how she feels, just wait for her half of the conversation, jeez. "You know you really need a vacation. Usually what I do when I need to get out of stress is I use the 'auto-pilot,' it works great." He stood up and pressed a button. "Watch." In his place the auto-pilot inflated and began helming the ship. "The best part is from behind, he looks just like me." "[bleep]" "I can replicate you a doctor and then all you'd have to do is slip out to wherever you want to be." "[bleep]" "You know there was once this Earth doctor who said that an axe to the back of the head was a great way to relieve pressure in your head." "[bleep]" I'm pretty sure she was swearing at him there. ;D OFF: BTW, if you find you need more room than I allotted you then take what you need. Oh and if you're wondering, yes I did make an "Airplane!" joke just then.

Just as the lift doors were about to close, they stopped and retracted and allowed another officer to enter.
"Don't worry, Doctor. I haven't heard anything bad." he tells her. "But I did see ya knock the captain on her kester." he teased with a smile.
They rode the rest of the way in silence until the doors opened on the bridge.
"That sounds great, Doc. I'll look for ya after my shift." he says as he heads to the Tactical station.

Liz could tell he didn't really want to talk to her, but she needed someone. She thought about pestering some other helpless guy around instead of him, but she stayed put.
"If you are hearing voices, then maybe you should see a counsellor when we get back to the station. If you mean me, then yes I can be a little voice for you. Might be the evil one of your conscience. Sorry, I sometimes go nutty at the oddest times," she said feeling a little saddened one of her crewmates wouldn't want to even say two words to her. She hoped to get on his good side.
"Well, yes, sometimes that can suck, other times it helps relieve some stress I guess," she responded grasping at anything he would talk about. She watched to see what he was doing, and shook her head.
"One of those guys wouldn't help in sickbay, besides I already have a pet doctor down there. Goes by the name of Trish. If you are lucky she will roll over, play dead, heal the sick, and fetch. I don't think I could replace her," she responded, and he seemed to nod.
"I think a vacation just be what I might need. Could you recommend a spot for me?" Liz said, then listened to him say something about a doctor. She sighed first.
"Kre-nath," and she felt that was all she needed to say.
OOC: Thanks dude, it was just enough manuvering room. Oh and I thought Airplane was a waste of film. BTW, that is a real word, I used a translator, translate at your own discrection.

OFF: What language? And try Casperia Prime, DS9 attempted to make it a rival for Risa but never elaborated on it. Alternatively you could go to Pacifica, it was a place of rest in an early TNG episode. It'd be nice to learn about them. ON: As Liz became less attentive of what he was doing, Michael took the opportunity to do a bit of reflecting. "Note to self: the doctor is obviously bored. Need to get her inflatable man as distraction until a real one comes around. Also remember to pick up package at next starbase." "What was that?" "Nothing."

<Mean while later on the bridge> The Captain could tell that Hawk was hoping to duct out at some point so she just asked that he gather as much information on the planet as he could be for they arrived. Hawk acknowledged her request gladly. Hawk was at his ops post taking long range scans of the planet Kavis Alpha IV, which seemed to be a K class planetoid which required the use of some life support devices. Its size was about 3/4ths that of earth, at about 9,500 km. Only small amounts of water can be found on the planet and it has a very thin atmospheres. The planet had a small amount of vegetation but no animal life to be found. “This planet might well qualify for terraforming someday,” Hawk thought. Hawk’s sensors also picked up some ionization of the planets atmosphere making it difficult to scan the planet completely from a distance. He sent word to engineering, requesting the modification of a class-1 probe, with sensors set to maximum scan and modified for planetary probing of machine life-forms. Engineering was to inform Hawk as soon as it was ready to launch. <Kiara Sienta> Hawk looked over at Michael and Aarons looked back. “It is good to be back home again Michael,” Hawk admitted. “For sure Commander, I agree!” Michael assured Hawk. “I heard we have a new engineer. I will miss Commander Rhymer,” Hawk said sadly. “Yes, as will I, but I heard that the new engineer is very good. She has my engines operating at 97.3% efficiency. One tenth better than our friend Rhymer,” Aarons said with pleasure. “I am sure she will do fine, but I still have a small problem trusting female officers, except for the Captain, of course, who has proven her worth,” Hawk confessed. “You could just be suffering from that female withdrawal syndrome,” Aarons said with a laugh and a wink.

OFF: Because this is Halloween, I feel like twisting Hawks research to be outdated. Not so much wrong but not completely accurate so as to allow for a thrilling mystery. Trust me you'll enjoy.
ON: Engineering was soon ready to fulfill Hawk's request on the probe. The ship by now was still about a parsec away so any telemetry would have to be gained via this manner. <Kiara tell us about prepping the probe please.> Once it was jettisoned it made its way ahead of the ship to give initial reports about Kavis Alpha.
"If we're going at warp speed, won't we outrun the probe?"
"For the sake of narration, no." Replied the operations officer. It wasn't til a lightyear and a half later that the first sign of information came back from the probe. "I don't understand, did the probe go off course?" Those present awaited him to expound upon his retorical question. "I should be getting soil, geo readings, doppler readings but instead I get a metalurgical list. 80% silicates, Tritanium composites, Duranium with a 6% Molybdenum impurity. There are even indications of 8th power energy levels."
Their waiting came to a close as the Kavis Alpha sector fastly approached them. Past the neutron star and a distance from the red giant, the other planets were clear of the orbit which number 4 was taking. With baited breath they anticipated what they would find there. What they found was beyond what any could have imagined. Where Kavis Alpha should have been was a big dumb object the likes of those found in the works of Peter Hamilton or Larry Niven's Ringworld. 70% of the planets entire surface was a metallic structure.
"My God, what is it?"
"All indications say that is Kavis Alpha IV, or at least what was Kavis Alpha IV." The planet structure was void of any life and its metallic surface was a frightening death of nature and a shrine to the electron. What lay in there no man could tell. It was like nothing any of them had ever encountered.
"Well bring her for orbit." The planet was pulsing with magnetic attraction as the current swirl through spiral forms littering the surface.
"Captain I would advise against that. With the magnetic forces emanating from the planet that would be extremely dangerous."
"And judging from these coils," Aarons pulled up aerial views on the planet surface, "this thing is one giant inductor. We wouldn't be able to reroute power or pass a charge through the dilithium matrix."
"What about being in transporter range."
"To use the transporter would be a fools errand. Our signals would be absorbed making cohesion impossible no matter how strong the confinement beam or buffer integrity. I couldn't even begin to guess the bandwidth with which to send someone that wouldn't be filtered by the tank being formed by the structures below. The only suggestion would be to release a shuttle craft and let it free-fall toward the planet surface until we were closer to ground."
"Wait, how come you're getting all the smart lines when we've got at least 3 persons assigned to this kind of stuff?"
"Because I'm writing the post and I got the associates degree in this stuff."
"Well from now on leave it to Nik, Hawk, or Kiara."
"I'm not allowed to write for her."
"Well that just makes you S.O.L. now don't it?" OFF: Yes I deliberately left it open who said what.

Liz couldn't believe he had said that, and then had a thought. She smiled sweetly.
"Why would I need a blow up, you would do just fine," Liz said and continued to smile. "Just picture it, a romantic candle light dinner, us both looking elegant, and who knows, we could be a little passionate later that evening." Liz winked.
"So, are you up for that?" She said trying not to miss a beat. She rubbed the back of his neck gently hoping to see what reaction this would cause. ~Man this is too much fun. I should pick on someone else, he shouldn't get all of my attention like this.~ She thought trying not to show her sheer pleasure at teasing him.
OFF: It's Vulcan, or so the translator I found said. I think one of those planets will do, thanks.

Amongst all the glory and magnificence of the moment, the attention he was getting brought on a new side never before seen. Oh what the Hell. Not caring who was there and what they thought, Michael arose from his seat whipped around and made lip contact with Doctor Janeway. New awe and attention fell upon this occurrence. Once it was all over, there was a moment of speechlessness. "Michael! What are you doing!?" He merely shrugged. "It tasted good."

Liz couldn't believe what had just happened. She was completely shocked, and wondered what he meant by this kiss. She tried to recover, but shock took over. ~Wow, he kissed me. Why would he do something like this? Quick say something?!~ She thought, and found it easier thought then done. She found she was able to speak about a minute later. "I take it that means you would like me to set another place at my table tonight. Well I suppose I can do so," she said then had a thought. "Hey Michael, if I promise a kiss after a physical, does this mean you will come down to sickbay easier each time?" Liz realized what he said about her lips tasting good. ~Okay, he is making fun, or he liked it. Interesting.~ She thought. "Well, I should go back to work, oh and I do believe physical time should be around soon enough," she said and heard the groans. "Ah a chorus I never tire of."
