Back in the makeshift cells, Savot was examining the wall with both eyes and hands. A tug here and a pull there produced no positive results, until finally a panel near the bottom right of the wall face came loose, producing a hole big enough to fit one's hand through.
"Commander, I am through.", Savot said as he leaned down and spoke through the hole as softly as he could.
"Verra good, Savot. Take these two transporter patches, get one to Lucas and we've got a ticket outta here. The patches weren't detected in their scannin' of us. But we've all got to make it out. Not only is it in bad taste to leave crew behin', but ah'm fairly sure his Captainliness wouldna be too pleased if we left 'is fiance with tha enemy.", Deis ended with a chuckle as she handed Savot the two transport patches, keeping one for herself.
Savot nodded, taking the items and moving to the other wall, beginning the same process. Unfortunately, this wall was much more plain and had no panels at all to move. Savot frowned with his eyebrows and returned to the hole adjoining Deis' cell. "Commander, I am unable to reach Lt. Lucas. The wall cannot be breached."
"Blast it all t' hell! Something like this would happen on my first away mission in charge. Well, we'll 'ave to think of somethin' else, we're not leavin' her here.", Deis finished and turned around to slump against the cell, looking right into the sneering face of a Cardassian just outside her cell.
The Cardassian grinned wider and shook his head slowly, "No, Commander, you won't be leaving. So, you are in fact the leader. I had thought the Vulcan was in charge. But he clearly takes his orders from you. So be it. The Gul Orek will be most pleased with me for discovering your escape attempt, but more importantly he will be displeased with my rival for not detecting your transport patches.", he turned to address two other Cardassians in thick armor with blast rifles. "Guards, lower the shields and prepare the prisoners for transport to Gul Orek. I shall accept his commendation and deliver them for punishment in the same motion."
The guards nodded, saluting the apparent officer with a fist bump against their chest, and lowered first Deis' field, then Savot's, and finally Lucas', taking the patches and smashing them against the deck, producing a wince from Lucas as she realized what they were. Savot of course showed no reaction, as did Deis, apparently her command responsibilities had convinced her not to give the enemy the satisfaction of seeing her disappointed.
The leering officer took the lead, one guard behind him, the three prisoners, and the 2nd guard taking up the rear. Deis was first, Lucas second, with Savot bringing up the rear. As they rounded a corner with an inside turn, Savot spun on the guard behind him.
Spinning 180 degrees, he bent at the knees as he spun, and as the guard moved to react, Savot brought his hands across each other forming an X, bringing them smashing up into the bottom of the rifle, pointing it towards the cieling as a bolt fired off and sparks flew. Twisting his hands around to grab the same side of the rifle, Savot pulled it and the body of the guard to the right, bringing the guard off-balance, then suddenly turning the guard's force against him and slamming the butt of the weapon into his temple, dropping him.
As the first shot rang off, Deis had anticipated her companion's attempt, and had guessed that the corner would be the most "logical" place to attempt, since for that brief moment the convoy would be split and each guard would be on his own, able to be singled out. The forward guard spun around to his right, bringing his rifle into a perfect collision with Deis' pair of clasped hands, knocking the weapon from his grip and sending it skittering along the dull grey deck towards Lucas, who dove for it and stunned the lead officer while still laying on the deck. As he dropped the first guard looked over with concern, at which point Deis whipped her foot around behind his right knee, and pushed against his shoulders knocking him to the ground.
Savot finishes his bout at approximately this same instant, turning the corner to see the situation fairly well in hand. The guard recovered quickly, preparing to spring back up, but Savot and Lucas had their rifles trained on him, and Deis shook her head at him. "Ah, ah, ah. None o' that now. Shuttlebay, or we do an in depth study on 'ow Cardassians rifle settin's work. Well then?" The guard looked nervously about for a moment, before pointing a shaky hand down another hallway that turned off from this main stretch.
Deis looked that direction, then back at the guard. "Good boy. Sleep tight." Savot instinctively pulled the trigger at that statement, stunning the guard. He tossed the rifle to Deis and tilted his head. "Shall we, Commander?"
