Jon was sitting in the command chair as the helm officer departed from there postion, They had no real damage from the Klingon invaders and there guests left over 2 hours ago. Park was going into the comm traffic and saw a few communiques from starfleet and his parents. ~thats strange~ Park thought the communiques from Starfleet were for him.
Jon turned to Commander Littlewood who was working on the bridge this shift. "Commander you have the bridge, I will be in my office." Jon stood and headed to the turbolift.
<Tag Littlewood>
Jon entered his officer on deck two and sealed the door. Park walked to his deck saying as he walked there. "Computer is any message from Starfleet a visual communique." The computer came back in that tone he has come to know "There are 2 Visual communiques from starfleet and 3 text communiques" The computer replied.
Jon accessed the first visual message it was a Admiral he had not interacted with before "Commander Park this message has a built in live transmission. Standby..... The screen flashed to show the admiral
"Commander Park i have some orders you may not like, Or you may. I have authorized the reopening of your fathers disappearance. Starfleet has the flight data recorder from your fathers ship when it went down near the earth's moon. I have your orders sent so good hunting Commander i hope you find what your looking for."
Jon downloaded the orders to a Padd and accessed the second communique. It was his mom, "Hello Jon i hope you have seen and spoked to Admiral Ross he has said he is reopening your father's case and is assigning your ship. I hope to see you soon son."
Park stood and went back to the bridge reading the orders, The were to head to earth and pick up the recorder from starfleet. Analyze it and try and locate Lt.Commander Park if he is still alive. Stepping on the turbolift Jon thought it was going to be a tough investigation. "Bridge." The lift went up for a short time and the lift opened onto the bridge. Tristen was getting up to hand command back over, But Jon held his hand up "As you were Commander."
Walking to the Ready room doors he hit the door chime and waited for the Captain to respond and wondered why he received the message instead of him. Jon saw his name was the only one on the communique. Jon rang the chime a second time and waited.

He heard the door chime the first time but was busy finishing his paper work. When it rang the secound time he stopped what he was doing. It would do him any good to appear rude in front of the crew and paper work could always be done later
" Enter"
a few moments later he saw his acting first officer they really hadn't had any time to talk or get to know each other but time would take care of that he was standing and being very formal
" Please take a seat Commander and for heaven sake at easy I dont bite at least not very often" he was trying to lighten the mood and listend to what Commander Park had to say ( Fill in what ever you feel is need Mr. Park)
He found it very odd that he didn't get a copy of the orders either but as if on Que his screen quickly flashed and he saw the orders Mr. Park had gotten
" While I find it odd that my first officer gets orders about our new mission before I do. I can understand why star fleet did it. Mr. Park we will follow our orders but I hope I dont need to remind you that you must keep your personal feelings and issue in check on this mission"
Pausing for a moment because he didn't want to come across as cold hearted " How ever we will do everything we can to assist you and Star fleet I want a staff briefing in 30 mins might as well get to meet the rest of my staff and bring them up to date"
befor allowing Mr. Park to leave " Oh Mr. Park one other thing and its a personal matter for me our last mission you got lucky locking up the admiral for his own protection. I on the other hand would like to make it perfectly clear if you ever lock me on my own ship for my protection. Lets just say you wont be very happy with that out come lets hope it never comes to that. Now I do believe you have a briefing to prepare for I'll see you and the crew in the 30 mins in the briefing room"
When Mr. Park left he opened his orders which stated the same thing. He was a little concerned on how this would effect his first officer and would be keeping a close eye on him.

"Please take a seat Commander and for heaven sake at easy I don't bite at least not very often"
"Aye sir." Jon sat in the chair across from him and handed him the padd he had received from starfleet. Jon had thought maybe they sent his the orders first since it had to do with his father.
" While I find it odd that my first officer gets orders about our new mission before I do. I can understand why star fleet did it. Mr. Park we will follow our orders but I hope I don't need to remind you that you must keep your personal feelings and issue in check on this mission"
Jon thought about what he saw saying and understood in a way. Jon had always been convinced that his father was alive even when starfleet's investigators told him and his mother about the accident. Jon always knew his father was to good of a pilot thats why he tested the new shuttles and even the new class of starships when they first went into warp or high impulse.
Jon knew he wouldn't let his personal feelings into account he did need to ask something of wolf. "Sir i understand how wrong this is to ask, But if my mother Commander Park wanted to join us would you let it happen?" Jon kinda was hopping he would say no, Park knew his mother there it would seam wrong not to have his mother there with them but Jon had his reasons.
<Tag Wolf>
Jon stood and headed to the door since they had finished there talk when Wolf added something else. "Oh Mr. Park one other thing and its a personal matter for me our last mission you got lucky locking up the admiral for his own protection. I on the other hand would like to make it perfectly clear if you ever lock me on my own ship for my protection. Lets just say you wont be very happy with that out come lets hope it never comes to that. Now I do believe you have a briefing to prepare for I'll see you and the crew in the 30 Min's in the briefing room
Jon smiled at that and stated his position on that. "I stand by my actions with Admiral Lin sir, When the Klingon's beamed abored there was one aiming a Phaser at him. Being that senior Officer on the Ship I felt it was my duty to protect him." Jon thought how to word this next part. "And sir with all due respect if i had to do it over again i wouldn't change what i did concerning the Admiral, Now you on the other hand i wouldn't worry about sir, As a marine i know your trained more then he was. But i will do all the duties of a first officer to the best of my abilities."
<Tag wolf>
Jon nodded and headed out and entered the lift. "Deck 2." Jon stepped off the lift and entered his office a few minutes later. Park made copies of the orders and what he wanted each department head to do. Park knew that Littlewood would be pulling double duty as well as there COO. Since they didn't have a CSO Park and Seth would spend time analyzing the Data recorder. Littlewood would be spending more time on the bridge at the beginning of the mission.
Jon took all the Padds and went to the Observation lounge of the Nevada and set up the Meeting Padds. Park was just finishing when the door opened and the first members of the senior staff started to enter. Park was Doctor Grey and went to ask her a question. "Doctor am i crazy for wanting this mission?"
<Tag Grey>
Just as Grey finished her answer Captain Running wolf entered the room and they all stood at attion. Park took his seat as First officer and looked at the new Ensign who has been assigned as there new CSTO since he was promoted to First officer it was funny looking back at the seat he had sat in for so long. Just then Wolf started the meeting.

Lily was sitting down on deck 7 in her quarters, She had just gotten off shift and ran into a fellow crew member and went back to there quarters for a drink. Lily was about to head back to her room when her friend and newly promoted first officer Jon Park's voice over the comm.
=/\= "All senior staff to the Observation lounge in 30 Min's for mission briefing."
Lily put her glass down and headed to her quarters on the same deck and changed into a fresh uniform. Heading to the turbolift Parker said "Observation lounge" the lift took her up and she stepped out and entered the room.
Looking around other officers were entering and saw Commander Park specking to the Doctor she took a seat next to the new officer that had just joined them.
"Your ensign Borgus right, Lillyanna Parker CNO."

Seth rummaged around his quarters like a man possessed, to an outside observer it would seem like there was a sense of desperation to the man. He was searching for a clean uniform jacket; he couldn't simply get one from the cycler because it was broken, which also meant he couldn't rid himself of unclean ones. And the floor of his quarters was a mess.
Thus was the reason why he was currently staring at the jacket with a rip across the upper arm sleeve, another across the shoulder and a third abreast of the abdomen - that last was particularly bloodstained. "Klingons..." he muttered, chucking the uniform away in distaste. Funnily enough it landed in the sonic shower, and its impact on the floor of that utility set it whirring into life.
"What's the point?" he spoke to himself again, giving up on his search momentarily and collapsing on to the edge of his bed. He looked around at the sorry state of his abode with the look of a tired man. The place had suffered him for too long, not even his bed was clear of the endless flotsam and jetsam that seemed to accumulate itself without giving the weary Wezean any pause or respite. Seth swept the debris from his bed, his plan being to lie himself flat and take some needed rest. He rubbed at his bristle-thick chin, yawned and realised that the ducts around his eyes were growing damp. He blinked, feeling the barely formed tears making his eyebrows wet and in turn making him irritable.
He shook the mood off, running his hands down his face and imagining that the act would purify body and psyche somehow, ridding himself of all his and worries and concerns. It did not work like he'd hoped. In most of his - not even clean - uniform, minus his uniform jacket, Seth headed out of his quarters. He made his way to ship supplies, being the Operations officer he should have considerable sway with these maintenance and supply store crewmen.
He managed to get the uniform jacket, if nothing else from ship's supplies. Before heeding the call to the briefing room he stopped by his quarters again. It would not harm him being very slightly late... Plus it would provide time to recover from the events of the supplies detour, give him some time to ponder on it and find some solace, hitherto unseen amongst the layers of disillusionment.
"Sorry if I am marginally late," Seth stated as he entered the briefing room. Having no idea what this assignment and at this moment too distracted to give it the attention it deserved, the Wezean's sitting in his seat was of a heavier, more weary quality than it should have been.

Tristan Littlewood sat in the command chair of Nevada something he did from time to time, although he was Chief Engineer he was the a high ranked senior officer and was asked to take bridge shifts from time to time. He didn’t mind doing it as it was most of the time a lot less of a headache than what was going on in engineering.
He turned and noticed Commander Park walk onto the bridge but as Tristan got up to hand over the bridge Park let it be known he was just passing through, Littlewood nodded his head and sat back down, as he read off of the Padd in his hands. He made it look like work but in reality it was a novel he had downloaded from the ships computer… it was really the only time he managed to get to read the thing as when on Engineering shifts there was always something to do.
When the time came Littlewood handed over the bridge and walked into the briefing room, still holding his Engineering padd with the novel. He nodded at the officers and his eyes fell on Doctor Grey. He hadn’t seen her since she returned to duty, and a pang of heavy guilt struck him. he shook it off as he took his seat and looked to the new Captain and new first officer.

Watching the staff arrive was intersting to him as each member entered he watched there body language to gage what they were thinking. He didn't know the staff so he was going to be playing catch up for awhile. They all seemed so young to him but in trueth he wasn't much older then them but by a few years. Looking around he figured he waited long enough before starting the meeting.
" For those of you I have met its nice to see you again for those I haven't I'm Colonel Wolf your new Commanding officer. Before we start I would like to say a few things I know its custom to call the person commanding the ship Captain. I respectfully ask you not to call me captain my rank is Lt Colonel 1st class, Colonel for short. I respect the title of captain but for a marine the captain rank is lower, I'ev worked very hard to get my rank so I ask that you call me colonel."
" Next I'm not admiral Drew your former commanding officer, he's a fine officer. I will not try to fill his shoe's nobody can. As we get to know each other I'm sure that we will find some common ground. I don't believe in looking over you shoulders and double checking your work, thats not my job. You wouldn't be where you are now if you had to have somebody doing that. I may ask some wiered question once in awhile about things you might think are common knowledge. I ask you bear with me my training is that of a marine not an engineer and so on"
" Last when I call a briefing I expect you to be on time, your time and my time are very importan lets not waste each others time"
" Also for the moment I do not plan on chainging how this ship functions. I would be a poor leader if I came in and started changing things right off the bat. I will obsever for awhile and see if there is anything that needs to be changed until the fucntion like you normally would. Lastly if you have any questions please ask them now, if not then Mr. Park please start the mission briefing"<Tag anybody>
he sat back to observe his crew to see what he could learn about them.

Jon listened to Wolf's comments and understood where he was coming from. They had all worked hard on getting the ranks they all had. "Mr. Park please start the mission briefing."
Jon waited few moments so others could get a comment in if they chose to voice anything, Then Jon Begin. "A little more then 48 hours ago i received some odd orders from starfleet, The reason they are odd is because they came to me first and not to our new CO Colonel Runningwolf. I believe the reason why this was is because it has to do with my family personal."
Jon tapped a control and a picture of the ship his father was testing appeared or what was left of it. "A few months ago Lt.Commander Collins who was here snapped and injured some crew, He admitted to me he sabotaged my fathers ship for a number of reasons. I dug into his service and found that my father was given a promotion over him shortly before my father's final flight."
"starfleet feels they made a mistake 11 years ago and has officially reopened the case. They have found the Flight data recorders on earth, Somehow a home was placed on top of them. Starfleet had found enough evidence to send us to investigate. We will have a guess on this mission...." Jon was dreading the next few words. "My mother Commander First class Jane Park will be joining us at earth when we pick up the recorders. Now i have told her she is just a guest on the ship however i would like the crew to extend every courtesy we would for a visiting Commander. Colonel did i miss anything? If not i turn the meeting to questions or comments."

Seth had no real comments. He'd heard of the situation with Lieutenant Commander Collins and it had been an ordeal for the crew: what Collins had been doing to them. For the same man to be responsible for Jon Park's father's disappearance and perhaps death was a bitter blow to them all.
The Wezean studied the picture showing the remains of the ship that Collins had sabotaged. Near total destruction that would leave no life, was the new first officer sure that his father could still be alive? Perhaps he was, if nothing else, looking for some solace in discovering what actually happened. Seth felt he could relate to this case, familial issues were something of a recurring theme for the Nevada in recent months and the past year.
"The flight data recorder ended up on Earth.. for investigation purposes?" he asked. No other questions had been forthcoming and the query had been forming in his head the past few moments. "Is there any reason why you think it would've been buried like that, sir?"
<tag Park>
Seth listened to the other questions, taking them in but more concerned with other matters now that his question had been asked. Not that he wished to neglect this assignment, he already had an interest in it, to see it done and help Commander Park find out what happened to his father.
What was of especial interest and curiosity was that the Nevada was soon going to be on a course for Earth, the cradle of humanity, and a place Seth had only been to once in his life as he of course originated from a colony on the frontier of Federation space.
The briefing came to a close and the senior staff were dismissed; some glanced at each other in acknowledgment, looking as if they were planning on starting up conversation. Seth rose from his seat without any sort of eye contact with his fellows, then exited the room along with them. He stifled a yawn, then moved off to the Ops console, automatically wanting to run checks on key internal systems before the Nevada knuckled down in preparation for its jump to warp. He sighed when he reached the console. Now he could try and think about what he was going to do.. His instinctive attempt to strangle the crewman in ship's supplies had set his head in a spiral.
Colonel Running Wolf stepped on to the bridge now and he instantly looked around taking in his new arena. Seth focussed on his work but readied himself for orders, and any job that came his way in the form of a request from a crewmember.

Park was just finishing when the door opened and the first members of the senior staff started to enter. Park saw Doctor Grey and went to ask her a question. "Doctor am i crazy for wanting this mission?"
"We're all crazy in one form or another, Jon. Don't worry about it. Try those relaxation techniques I taught you a while back. It will help relieve the stress."
Just then the CO entered. Dr. Grey glanced around the conference table, her eyes falling on each face momentarily as she tried to remember their medical and psyche charts. In the end she pulled a padd toward her and tapped into the medical computer for the information.
Lucy forced the frown to fade before it was noticed. A Marine as their commanding officer? Sighing, the doctor relaxed. Accepting the decisions of Star Fleet was all in a day's work. As the Colonel spoke, Lucy set up a tentative appointment for his physical and psyche exam.
"My mother Commander First class Jane Park will be joining us at earth when we pick up the recorders. Now i have told her she is just a guest on the ship however i would like the crew to extend every courtesy we would for a visiting Commander. Colonel did i miss anything? "The flight data recorder ended up on Earth.. for investigation purposes?" Lt. Helacaan asked. "Is there any reason why you think it would've been buried like that, sir?"

"Having your mother on board will prove stressful." Lucy looked into Jon's eyes and said, "Maybe I can help. I could act as her guide around the Neveda while she's here."

"Well Lieutenant thats a good question, I would assume that starfleet command would have the data recorders brought to starfleet command to be analyzed. How they ended up under a house is something starfleet is investigating as well." Jon thought about the other question he asked. "Well I would think that if Collins has anything to do with it, they we would know why they were buried."
"Having your mother on board will prove stressful." Lucy looked into Jon's eyes and said, "Maybe I can help. I could act as her guide around the Neveda while she's here."
"Thank you Doctor that would be most helpful, Just don't make her feel like i am having you do this." Jon thought a few more seconds. "If she wishes to see me by all means Doctor let her, But of course if i am doing something official you know the answer to that." Jon smiled.
Park turned to Runningwolf and looked to him like ~I hope this gets better before it gets worse but you know it won't~

Tristan stood up after the briefing was over he took in the information that was given and decided he had no questions to ask, everything in the Engineering department was self explanatory make sure the ship moves.
He moved around the table and stood next to Doctor Grey, he looked down before he said. “Doctor… I feel I must apologise… the explosion on deck four was.. the fault of Engineering for that I am very sorry.. I am relieved you are okay.”
<tag Grey>
Tristan felt uncomfortable but needed to apologise even if he wasn’t directly responsible, someone under his command was and therefore he bore some of the blame and guilt.
He left the observation lounge and walked over to an unused console where he pressed a few commands before his personal database was brought up , he picked up a spare PADD and transferred a letter he had received a day earlier to it.
Standing up he moved over to Colonel Wolf. “Colonel it seems we share a common friend.. I met her at the academy about ten years ago.. I received a letter from her yesterday.. she wanted me to give it to you.”
He handed the padd to Colonel Wolf, which only bore a few words.
:Colonel Wolf, If you are reading this it means your first mission is underway.. Good Luck.
P.S .. Don’t Screw It Up and if you ever have a hard decision to make and you don’t know what to do keep this in Mind. W.W.S.D? – What Would Savot Do?
S.J:
Tristan watched him look at the letter, before he said. “She must like you… she is normally terrible at remembering to write.. I will be in Engineering if you need me sir.”
<Tag Wolf>
Tristan left the bridge hoping that things in Engineering were still as good as when he left.

He watched the crew and listened to there thoughts, he could tell not all the crew was happy about a Marine being in command. He was going to have to work harder to prove to them that he could do the job. He wanted to earn there respect so they would trust him and his command abilities. There was a reason why he was chosen and he would have to show the crew why he was chosen.
Speaking up for a moment " Commander park alter our course for earth and " thinking for a moment " Commander just to be on the safe side I find it a little strange that all this is happening right now. Please don't think I want this mission not to have a positive out come. I would like you to go back through the logs and see how all this came about. Why all of a sudden new evidence turned up after all these years."<Tag Park>
Looking over at Seth " Lt Seth I want you to pore over all the senor logs and see what might have been missed all those years ago. If something was missed I would like to know how and why. Also I have sent a repair crew your quarters to repair your replicator it should be up and running by the end of this briefing" <Tag Seth>
" Commander Littlewood I want you to get your hands on the flight recorder and go through it with a fine tooth comb. I want there to be no doubt that its the origanl from Mr. Parker ship. Also I want to know how damaged it was and simulations ran to confirm how it got to its location where it was found. I also want the ships senors boosted to comb the area for anything else that might have been over looked"<Tag Littlewood>
Looking over that Doctor " Doctor Grey at the end of this meeting I want you to stay behind for a few moments. There are some personal matters I need to discuss with you" <Tag Grey>
Looking over at Commander Parker Mother " Mrs. Parker I can assure you that everything possible will done to get you some answers. I can not promise they will be the ones you want but we will do our best to bring this to a conclusion and give you some peace for you and your son. You are welcome to remain aboard and assist us if you choose"
" You all have your orders we will meet again tomorrow to see what we have come up with"
He waited for the others to leave and looked over at Doctor Grey " Doctor I have a mission for you, since we dont have a counselor assigned I'm afraid my request will fall to you. Because of the nature of this mission I'm going to need you to keep a close eye on Mr. Park and emotional health. I don't doubt my first officer but we are talking about emotinal well being. I need to be sure his decision are based on fact and not emotion. I'm asking you to help keep him from hurting him self by making sure he can keep his personal feelings about our mission under control. I would ask this for any member of my crew if mission had to deal with there family."
" I dont expect you to come running to me with everything, all I ask is if you believe there comes a time where Mr Park emtion might be interferring with his duties you let me know. So we can keep Mr. Park safe from harming himself and his career. I ask you keep this to your self and I hope that you wont have to report anything to me. I also believe I owe you a medical pyhical and what ever else you thing you need. Please let me know when and where and I will make sure I report on time"<Tag Grey>
After his talk with the doctor he went to the bridge, he hadn't sat in the captains chair since he came aboard and it was time. He arrived to see his first officer stand up to hand the bridge to him. " Thank you number one whats our ETA to earht"<Tag Park>

"Also I have sent a repair crew your quarters to repair your replicator it should be up and running by the end of this briefing" Colonel Wolf told Seth.
Seth nodded in thanks, he now owed the Colonel one for his pulling power over the matter. Although he was pleased he was now also slightly worried; if the Colonel knew about the replicator what else did he know about the situation? The replicator had been but a part of the problems he'd been experiencing. Also, what was, if he were brutally honest with himself, a failed attempt at murder or perhaps manslaughter of the crewman in the ship's supplies department, would also create problems for himself soon if he were not careful.
The Ops chief was faced with a choice; and it was an obvious one at the moment, he had to stop people from finding out about this, it would disappear in time and the crewman would forget. On the other hand, Seth knew full well that his conscience would start playing with him if he handled it in the wrong way.
He'd cover his tracks, Seth decided as he stood working the Ops console. Not too obviously, just enough to brush this away as a non-event.. because it was really, wasn't it? He turned his attention back to the console.
The Nevada had jumped to warp now; Seth's pre-warp checks had gone down well and the Akira class had made warp speed with no problems. The ship had been very busy in recent times, and yet as was not the norm with the kind of calibre missions she was undertaking, it had taken very little damage in action. The incident with the Bartlet, the pursuing of Ch'lork in his hulking Negh'Var class battleship, and now this. Fortunately this was a investigatory assignment and little ship-to-ship action would take place. All of this of course was ignoring the damage to done to the sickbay deck from the engineering department's error, Seth remembered grimly.
Now he was ready to turn to the sensor logs from Park's father's ship explosion. It took a minute to find the appropriate logs, now he was confronted with banks and banks of sensor recordings.. along with time indexes and detailed figures. An analysis requiring quite a few algorithms, he realised, if he were to make any sense of it. It was clear that no one had been back through these records already, for they were still all in non-processed form. Seth frowned, that made little sense to him when he thought about it. Unless the original analysis of the sensor logs had been conducted outside of Starfleet's sensitive information network.. If that were not the case then it would simply meant the sensors readings from the explosion had never been analysed.
"Colonel," Seth said to the new man in the centre chair, "I've started the sensor log analysis from the ship explosion. It appears that I am the first person to conduct the sensor analysis in all of Starfleet; the logs are all in unprocessed form. Sir, this means that these detailed sensor records were never looked over in the first place."

Mark Walter walked to halls of his ship, he found that they were heading back to earth for supplies. His being human on a ship of Orion's had it's pecks. First he was left to live as long as he could use his contacts to get medical supplies from earth.
Mark tried to remember what got him to into working with the syndicate but for the life of him he couldn't. His ship entered orbit of earth and he entered his personal shipping code and received a reply. Docking at the shipyards at Oakland he exited, For some reason he stood taller and walked straighter when he docked.
Passing Starfleet security personal he looked away, Mark never like to be seen by them for some odd reason. Mark walked to the bluffs overlooking the bay and saw a lovely woman who caught his eyes. As she turned he saw she was a Commander first class, Mark was shocked he knew starfleet ranks so well. The woman saw him and froze, they locked eyes and Mark turned and ran.
Mark was fairly sure he had no warrants out on him, but he ran anyway he knew that woman just he didn't know how. Mark reach the dockmaster and gave him the things he had put on the padd.

Looking over at Lt Helacaan and listening to his report of the sensor Logs he found it very strange indeed. Why would star fleet not double check the sensor logs that didn't make any sense.
" Well it would seem somebody got a little sloppy now wouldn't, I don't even know if that would be the right word for it. You would think they would check the logs to confirm there reports"
He looked over at his first officer " Mr. Park what do you make of it, I mean when they informed your family of the accident. Did they give you the impression they were sure it was accident. Did they show you any proof or anything just seems they would try and back up there findings if this was the case"<Tag Park>
Turning to face his Operations officer " Mr. Seth please star going through the logs and see what you make of it. Also I dont want any reports made to star fleet yet about what you find okay. Inform me and we will go from there also see who's job it was to go through the logs back then to confirm the findings. I would very much like to know who and maybe have a word with them" <Tag Seth>
It appeared the mission was already running into some road bumps. There was something going on and he was worried about what else was missed. One way or the other they would get to the bottom of this he just hoped that the out come would be something the Park family could live with.

Cmdr. Littlewood moved around the table and stood next to Doctor Grey, he looked down before he said. “Doctor… I feel I must apologise… the explosion on deck four was.. the fault of Engineering for that I am very sorry.. I am relieved you are okay.”
”It’s okay, Tristan. That’s what I have a large sickbay for,” she replied.
Lucy tapped the engineer lightly on the wrist simply as a gesture of friendship then returned her attention to the padd she held. She looked up when she heard her name.
Looking over at the Doctor " Doctor Grey at the end of this meeting I want you to stay behind for a few moments. There are some personal matters I need to discuss with you"
“Of course, Colonel.” Relaxing back in her chair, Lucy wondered briefly if he had heard her thoughts. ~But he’s not Betazoid, is he? Got to read up on his file,~ she thought.
" You all have your orders we will meet again tomorrow to see what we have come up with"
Sitting upright at the conference table with her fingers drumming softly against the back of the data padd, Dr. Grey watched silently while the senior staff departed.
“How much detail are you expecting, sir?” ~Won’t hurt to use ‘sir’ as much as possible.~
Please let me know when and where and I will make sure I report on time"
Lucy pushed against the table with her right hand, the left still holding her data padd. Standing easily, she nodded. “I’ll take care of both Commander Park’s, sir. Mother and son. You’ll get a daily report, sir, encrypted directly to you.” Lucy didn’t add the unnecessary sentence, “Just to keep you from going crazy wondering if Jon’s emotional health is going around the bend.”
At the commanding officer’s agreement, Dr. Grey made her way from the conference room, diverting directly to the bridge. It was going to be nice watching out the main viewscreen for a change. Mostly, all she had was her tiny simulator.

" Well it would seem somebody got a little sloppy now wouldn't, I don't even know if that would be the right word for it. You would think they would check the logs to confirm there reports"
"Affirmative sir," Seth nodded. "They may have analysed the logs, but if they did then it was from a separate station, not connected at all to the Federation's main. And in case you are wondering, the classified nature of the investigation would not be a reason why the logs seem untampered. The signature of the file does not indicate that it has in anyway been included in some classified investigation, instead it is of a raw format, suggesting the file has not been tampered with at all."
Seth studied the Ops console as Colonel Wolf talked with Park, before the CO then turned back to him:
" Mr. Seth please star going through the logs and see what you make of it. Also I dont want any reports made to star fleet yet about what you find okay. Inform me and we will go from there also see who's job it was to go through the logs back then to confirm the findings. I would very much like to know who and maybe have a word with them"
The Ops chief was again amused by the Colonel's calling of him as Mister Seth. "Yes, sir." He said. The Colonel's idea was very clever he realised. By analysing the sensors himself and then cross-checking with the conclusion that the person on the enquiry board had come to, he would instantly be able to see if they actually used the sensor records in the first place. And if the two accounts did not match, and they still claimed to have analysed the sensor logs, then he would know that someone was trying to cover something up. Which he supposed for Starfleet officers would be rather alarming.
It took him just under an hour to complete the largest and most significant portion of the sensor analysis, and by this time, they were over half way to Earth. Seth did not need to be told by now that the significance of the results he obtained from this analysis would be crucial to understanding what happened. He'd figured that out during the act of it itself.
He thought he was getting somewhere with it when the main portion was finished. He had the sensor logs' processed information, and now he would see some of the data that may help him know what happened here. But then he ran straight into another brick wall. There seemed to be a chronic lack of sensor information in general. It was surprising and almost nigh-on unbelievable, considering that in the Solar system, and particularly around the region of Earth, sensor posts near-continuously combed every square metre of space. Was there something more to this...?
"Colonel, I've completed the sensor analysis," he informed Wolf who was still on the bridge, "Surprisingly, I cannot draw conclusions either way, there is very little information from these sensors. Whether there was some sort of sensor blind caused by the proximity of the Moon would be mere conjecture. The fact is, from a pure sensor log point of view the investigation bureau couldn't have drawn any meaningful conclusion. Unless they wanted to take shortcuts..."
<tag Wolf>
Seth excused himself from the bridge and headed to engineering, hoping to find Commander Littlewood. He found him almost instantly, organising the engineering department with one hand and juggling some scans with the other, or so it seemed. "Commander Littlewood," he greeted him, and noticed how Littlewood took a while to register his presence. Seth wondered if the engines were performing to standard; the Nevada was having to trek across the Federation to get back to Earth, and the site of this investigation.
"I've been analysing the sensor logs for Micheal Park's ship incident." Seth said, setting his stack of PADDs down on the console surface next to the CEO. "There seems to be little in the way of available information although I believe there may be some more, perhaps encrypted to a higher level. I didn't want to tell the Colonel because I had little clue as to how I would justify or explain it. Would you take a look and give me your opinion?
"Also, if we cannot find anything then we'll have to be content with the flight recorder, which I'm sure will tell us a great deal or more.. but we'll just have to wait. We should work together on the flight recorder, if you so wish it?"

Tristan kept an eye on the warp core analysis as he tinkered with the plasma flow, while the ship was running fine he couldn’t help but feel it could do just a little better. While the Akira class starship was getting older and not able to keep up with newer ships but that didn’t stop Tristan from trying
He was so focused on his work that he didn’t notice Seth walk up behind him, nor did he respond right away when Seth said his name.
He turned his head slowly as he tried to catch a last glimpse of the readout before looking away totally.
We should work together on the flight recorder, if you so wish it?" Tristan thought for a few moments, pushing aside thoughts of the engineering’s problems and thinking about the scans. He picked up the Padd Seth had placed on the console. After reading some of what Seth had found he looked up with a frown.
“This doesn’t seem right… this sensor data is sketchy at best.. with the amount of sensor relays in that area we should be able to tell how many pieces of space dust by cubic metre there was never mind what happened in an explosion.”
He looked back down and shook his head slightly. “I don’t know how much more you are going to find in here.. Seth its like reading a book with missing chapters eventually you have to admit it is unreadable.. we may have better luck with the flight recorder.. once we get it on board we will give it the full look over.. but until we do we may aswell try to read the chapter missing book.” He held up the Padd and let out a small sigh.
He motioned to his office. We can work in my office maybe some peace and quite will help us read between the lines.
He grinned as he said. “Oh what is with the Mister Seth now you changed your last name?”

He listened to Mr. Seth findings and couldn't believe what he was hearing. His mind was racing with excuses as to why there was no over sight. Still things were not adding up so close to earth the sensor net had to have a complete record. There was no way it couldn't unless somebody deleted it.
So far there first mission together was not going as planned. Worse he didn't want to get his crew into any trouble by having them dig to much on there own. Still they needed answers and there didn't seem any choice but to let them keep going.
" very well Mr. Seth see what you can do and report back when you find something or don't find something. This mission is presenting more questions then answers at the moment which is very strange considering it happened so close to earth."
He opened the computer link from his chair and started studying what there was. It seemed at first glance everthing was wrapped up in a tiny little neat package. Then when you started to look a little closer elements were missing. Why would somebody go through all this trouble to make it look like a simple accident. Those were the answers he was going to have to wait on. He longed since learned you don't rush things sometimes you have to wait and see what falls and go from there.

Dr. Grey stood at the back of the bridge, her eyes fastened on the streaking stars. They were on their way to Earth, were they not? The frown she expected didn't come. That surprised her just a bit but she accepted her reaction as a matter of course. There were a couple of things in Star Fleet that didn't surprise her.
Her mind registered the conversation around her as her eyes tried to focus on the subtle colors in space. Once in a while a blast of harsh red would flare then fade. An image that she hoped she would remember for years to come.
On their way to Earth to speak with ~someone~ about a data recording. All of it centering around Jon's mother. There would be two Commander Park's aboard the ship soon. Lucy grinned. That was going to present some interesting happenings around the place. Her comm badge chirped.
"Message for you, doctor. From Earth."
"Send it to the science station, Lisa."
The doctor walked slowly toward the female Trill who smiled and stepped to the right, allowing Lucy access to a portion of the station.
Keying in her access codes, Lucy read the short paragraph and wondered if Jon knew about this? She would, of course, inform him when she had the opportunity.
"Dr. Grey, it has come to my attention that Commander First Class Park will be joining the USS Nevada for a short mission. Attached is the latest psyche eval. It seems that she insists she has seen but not communicated with her late husband. We don't have the time to delve further into it. Maybe your counseling department will be able to assist?"
Filing the message in her personal folder, Lucy sent a message to her head nurse to start a med chart on Cmdr. Park, the mother, cross referencing Cmdr. Park, the son. This would, indeed, prove an interesting mission.
"Colonel Runningwolf," Lucy said as she approached the command pit, "I think it would be a good idea to interview both the Park's as soon as Jon's mother arrives. In the counseling office." Lucy lowered herself into the counselor's chair and looked over at the first officer. "If that's okay with you, commander."

Littlewood moved towards his office so Seth followed. The engineer turned in the doorway, grinning, "Oh what is with the Mister Seth now you changed your last name?"
Seth sighed but half-way forced a smile and half-way let it on to his face naturally, "No, but I think the Colonel's starting to take it on as an unspoken joke now. Why, he's used it four times in the last half hour or more. It's amusing that 'Seth' is in fact neither my true first or last name..." He was saying as Littlewood took his office's desk chair.
After setting the PADDs down again, Seth dragged a chair over to the desk opposite Tristan Littlewood and, sitting down, picked up the topmost PADD and slided the rest over to the CEO, assuming he'd start to skim-read them.
Now where to start? Seth thought, growing in surprise at how quiet it was in this office, when compared to the rest of engineering. Littlewood had been right about the peace it provided. "I processed the data myself, because it had not yet been done on Starfleet's informational or classified networks. That in itself is alarming until you take the time to do the analysis, after which you see this general lack of information.
"It raises the possibility," he continued, pushing his back into the seat with a quasi-yawn, "And is something that is my current theory, that the majority of the sensor logs were hidden to higher levels, without authorisation." Seth banged a heel on the floor, realising how frustrated he'd become by this ridiculous set of sensor data.
It occurred to him that Littlewood may possibly see his point of view as being slightly cynical. "Other possibilities that I've considered seem entirely unplausible. Such as the obscuring of the sensors by the Moon. Impossible surely with the near-every angle of incidence the sensory equipment has available in projection with the site of the explosion." Seeming to understand, Littlewood accepted what Seth was saying and they pressed on, trying to find a clue as to how any potential information had been hidden in the logs. For to remove that information completely would likely have resulted in irrepairable damage of the whole databank.
***
They proceeded with this for a while until Seth thought he recognised something he hadn't seen before. It had been quite obvious, and already he was kicking himself for not noticing it before, as he said it to the Chief engineer, "It looks like the limited sensor data left behind lends itself to the idea that it was an accident... But then there's so little of it that it's just beyond reasonable to reach that conclusion. Oh, that's quite clever then. Is it a possibility that they hid incriminating evidence, leaving behind the rest...?"
<tag?>
They ended up moving to a computer in the main room of Main Engineering, leaving behind the quiet of the office unfortunately. They needed the station to unlock what they thought was a collection of hidden logs. This would have meant that any analysis was run - unauthorised - off the usual Starfleet network, and then to cover their tracks they went into the raw data and hid the incriminating information on the usual Starfleet network. Clever indeed.
Almost immediately, and purely by luck Seth and Tristan found the trail that would lead to information hidden in a sub-routine. It had started to unravel itself, almost eerily.. uncovering tracks untreaded for years, walking in the footsteps of those who were perhaps guilty, and then the screen blanked out once or twice. The data reappeared briefly and then fizzled out. Seth checked the console, fingers spreading fast over the controls and knowledgably pressing them in quick sequence. "The databank is gone," he said with disbelief and annoyance, "It wiped itself."

Jon exited when the meeting ended and headed right for the bridge remembering what Runningwolf asked him to do. First things first he thought. "Helm set a course for Earth and engage at warp 5."
Park sat in the command chair and watched as the stars entered the same star streaks that he had become use too. Park went to the science station and brought up the logs from starfleet regarding the choice to reopen his fathers investigation.
Jon found a few things interesting first there was the court Marshall of Rick Collins, then Admiral Davis tried to find the data from his fathers ship, however it was lost so they tried to locate the fight recorders but they were lost.
Since it was going to be a while before the Nevada arrived at Earth he knew he had to speck to someone, Jon tapped the console "Computer locate Doctor Grey." The computer replied "Doctor Grey is on the turbolift en-route to the bridge." Jon smiled and as he turned to the alcove and she stepped onto the bridge. "Doctor you must be a Betazoid."
<Tag Grey>
"Doctor when we get to earth, I would like you to speck with Former Lt.Commander Collins, He is at Starfleet Medical due to a mental attack from what i have learned." Park thought a few moments then added "My mother will meet you at the transport back to the ship. My mother will also have the data recorders with her."
<Tag Grey>
Jon nodded and headed to the turbolift and ordered "Engineering." Jon walked into the main engineering department and didn't see Seth or Tristan heading into the CE's Office he found them Park guessed he kinda spooked them because they jumped when he said "Find anything from the original data?"
<Tag Seth and Tristan>
Jon understood what they were saying glancing at the console in Tristam's office he saw what time it was. "Ok gentleman i am turning in for the night we should arrive at earth by 0930 hours tomorrow.When we get there Seth you will beam down to Starfleet operations with me. Commander littlewood do you believe the Nevada needs anytime in the repair stations around earth?"

He was sitting on the bridge when he got a personal message, strange to see it addressed to the commanding officer of the Nevada that was still taking some getting use to. He opened it and saw it was a request to talk to a class of marines while on earth. It was schedule for a 4 day lecture on tactics.
Opening a com-channel to his number one " Commander Park I have been asked to give a lecture while we are on earth should only take about 4 days. I'm going to leave in you command while I give the lecture. All I ask is if you find something you let me know should return after 4 days. Sorry commander but the request comes from a personal friend who I owe a great deal to. If you run into any trouble contacting me and I'll return" Lowering his voice " Futher more Commmander I don't mind if you rock the boat to get answers but do not report any findings yet. If you have talked to Mr. Seth I'm sure you understand where I'm going with this. What ever you do don't go at this through the front door and tip anybody off. Sometimes its better to look through a window when nobody knows you are there" <Tag Park>
Looking back at his view screen and around the bridge opened another channel to engineering both the officer he wanted to talk to were there. " Mr. Littlewood and Mr. Seth I want all you findings kept aboard this ship I will be leaving for a few days. No reports are to made to headquarters also do not make any direct contacts regaurding this issue. If possible I would suggest maybe going through a back door. I will deal with any problems tha arise you will be following my orders becareful" <Tag Littlewood and Seth>
He finally looked over at the doctor" Doctor Grey as you have just heard I'll be gone if something comes up let me know. Right now we have more questions then answers and this is going to be tough on the Park family keep a close watch. If something happens you have my authority to counter command the order if it threatens this ship or will cause harm to the Park family. Mr. Park will be in command but I will trust your judgement I will leave orders in you personal Computer granting you authority if case its needed" <Tag Grey>
OCC good job everybody hopefully I be back sooner but if not have fun and keep up the good work

"Find anything from the original data?"
Seth spun quickly and with a slight jump on hearing what turned out to be Commander Park's voice, the man himself having approached Littlewood's office at unawares. The wiping of Michael Park's ship explosion logs by the inbuilt and unseen protocol had got the Wezean agitated and on edge. The knowledge that he was so close to finding something meaningful had been halted by something that just as well proved the file modifiers' guilt - or so Seth thought.
"Sir," he said, "We'd found almost conclusive evidence that some of the data was hidden in an unused subroutine, however when we went to look at it to see exactly what might have been hidden, all of the logs were wiped. They no longer exist." Seth was shaking his head.
Park understood and was likewise entirely shocked by what this implicated. "Ok gentleman i am turning in for the night we should arrive at earth by 0930 hours tomorrow.When we get there Seth you will beam down to Starfleet operations with me..."
"Yes, sir," Seth nodded, still sitting in the chair opposite Littlewood in his office.
After asking the Chief Engineer some questions about the state of the engines, the first officer left engineering, leaving Seth and Tristan to ponder things in the latter's office. "Perhaps I will get more answers from Starfleet Operations," Seth said, elbow propped on the arm rest and the fingers of his hand rubbing gently at his chin. "You will continue with the flight recorder when it's brought aboard, I assume, sir?"
<tag Littlewood>
Just then, the Colonel contacted them, ordering them not to contact HQ directly about what they had found, rather they should attempt to perhaps find a 'back door'. Seth could see the sense in that. To report directly to Starfleet would risk allowing those that may be responsible for Michael Park's death/disappearance, to find out that they were being investigated.
Seth accepted the call, and with a look of acknowledgment Littlewood's way, departed engineering and made his way back to the bridge of the Nevada. Commander Park was already there again, and Running Wolf had disappeared from the bridge to prepare his departure for a few days down to Earth.. when they got there.
"Helm, ETA to Earth," Seth requested of Lilyanna Parker, and noticing Park give a nod of approval that Seth could ask for a report such as that across the bridge.
