Nickolas was born in New Orleans Louisiana on Earth, he learned from his father to not trust people, because they were always looking out for themselves and their best interest and to heck with yours. He was a loner through school and joined starfleet immediately after he graduated high school.
Nickolas had a hard time working with people onboard any ship he served on but after being told to either work with people or get kicked out of starfleet he chose to work with people. He slowly made his way up the ranks and his first command. He learned to work with his people on the USS Montgomery, but they had to earn his trust. He gave up ship command to be a starbase commodore and later Admiral.
