Commander Wolf’s investigation had turned up some rather interesting evidence, which exonerated Saryn completely from the charges of murder. It was really the first good news that Andy had heard in awhile, and the last thing he wanted was armed MACO guards following Saryn around the ship in the case of a medical emergency.
“Okay, so if Saryn didn’t kill the priestess, then who did?” Andy asked as if it was a rhetorical question.
His mind returned to the metallic substance that Sharon had referred to as poison, “Have you been able to identify what exactly this metallic substance is made out of, or what it does their bodies?”
Andy knew that Wolf wasn’t a scientist, but he imagine that Sickbay was in fact heavily involved in the investigation.

“Gather all the documentation you need from the body and ready a torpedo tube for a proper burial.” Andy said to Commander Wolf, not thinking much about it.
“I don’t know if that would be a good idea.” Jack chimed in for the first time since Sharon entered Andy’s office.
“Why not?” Andy was confused. Burial at sea, or in space was a long-standing human tradition for honoring those lost during the course of a voyage.
“Well sir, to be frank we should probably confer with the Vackall Priest who is still onboard. Perhaps they have a far more complex tradition of doing away with their dead? We already know how intensely religious they are.”
Andy took a moment to process the information that Jack had just bestowed upon him, and he was right. They have not only fought the Vackall because of their religious reasons, they had lost crewmembers as well. That loss was a weight that caused an even heavier psychological burden to be ever-present with the young Starfleet Captain.
“Good point Jack.” Andy replied, “Commander Wolf, please follow up on your investigation and find out if you can the nature of this poison. Jack I want you to get working on supply negotiations with any willing species out there, while I make the arrangements for priestess’ burial.”
