STARFLEET COMMAND
SECTION 47
PERSONNEL DIVISION
Name: Meylor Paht (surname first)
Rank: Commander 1st Class (Starfleet) Captain (Bajoran Militia)
Race: Bajoran/human
Place of Birth: Andros (Bajor VIII)
Academy Class: 2387
Qualifications: tactical & security, law, engineering
Personal Details:
Age: 35
Sex: male
Date of Birth: 2365
Appearance: about 5'11" tall, red hair, lanky build
Background: born to a human father and a Bajoran mother, Meylor grew up on the biospheres of Class-K Andros, a longtime colony of Bajor; relocated to the homeworld to attend the Bajoran Military Academy, majoring in Tactical/Security (with a concentration in Law), minoring in Engineering (with a concentration in Support Systems); at the behest of his parents, both of whom have served in Starfleet, he joined the Officer Exchange Program when an opening became available during his second year
Service Record: began BMA training in Flight Control, handling the atmospheric storms of Class-J Bajor XI, where his performance was `average`; soon switched to defensive arts to improve his physical condition, and earned top honors in marksmanship; developed an interest in legal interpretation; also has a natural aptitude for system diagnostics, as a result of working with his father on Andros' life-support systems; periodically went on detached duty to serve as a security Deputy at the New Sahving colony, a frontier post established by the Bajorans in the Idran system of the Gamma Quadrant; formerly served as Security Chief aboard a few Section 47 vessels, including the late USS Vesuvius, but was frequently recalled to Bajoran Militia duty at New Sahving and elsewhere, part of the current Bajoran regime's ongoing efforts to secure its territory and establish themselves as a rising power in both Alpha and Gamma Quadrants; most recently, has been involved in mediating several border disputes at New Sahving, an experience which, while establishing a reputation of leadership and respect for law (not to mention something of a surrogate home in the midst of constant reassignment), has also tested his professional and personal limits; during a recent pirate raid on the colony, he risked his own life to protect one of the colony's main fusion generators from plunder, and was wounded by a gravitic grenade in the process, resulting in his current near-deafness from the concussion wave; eventually decided to resign his Militia commission and return to Starfleet Academy for supplemental training in Spaceflight Engineering, part of an effort to refocus on his Starfleet career and on a field that offered him new challenges
Medical Record: was born severely nearsighted, necessitating a Retinax treatment regimen which allowed for normal vision; also endured an outbreak of Orkett's disease on Andros in early childhood, resulting in an extended period of convalescence, until a blood transfusion from a human Stafleet doctor saved his life; remained somewhat weakened by the experience, and has worked hard to maintain physical fitness; his continuing struggle with physical infirmity took another blow when injuries sustained during the pirate raid rendered him without a sense of hearing, though Federation science allows the return of this sense through use of a cybernetic implant in his auditory nerve, a device known as the Auditory Medium Prosthetic (abbreviated AMP)
Interests: martial arts (skilled in Klingon Mok'Bara); planetary engineering (biospheres, weather control, terraforming); history (both Bajoran and Federation history in general; one of his personal heroes is Spock of Vulcan); admires the Vulcan principle of IDIC, and practices meditation techniques from a variety of cultures; elects not to wear the traditional Bajoran earring to indicate his rejection of the former D'jarra caste system and his secular view of the wormhole natives (called Prophets by the Bajoran faith)
