NOTICE: Cadet Trivia Rank Points [Please Read] ยซ Thread started on: Nov 24th, 2003, 10:33pm ยป Cadet Ranks are found at www.s47.org/cadetall.phpThe trivia points displayed there are actual trivia points. The 5 points for attempting trivia are used behind-the-scenes. The weekly posting points are on a 1-5 scale. 5 indicates at least 3 good posts during that week. At least 3 posting points are required for promotion, although you are strongly encouraged to strive for more. Remember, graduation requirements are: 1)Answering the weekly trivia www.s47.org/trivia.php 2)Completing a biography for your character and sending it to the Commandant (a form for the bio is found at www.s47.org/CCS/bio.doc or www.s47.org/CCS/bio.txt and www.s47.org/CCS/bios.php ) and 3)Actively participating on Starbase Conqueror and/or your Academy training vessel. If you have any questions, feel free to ask your Academy Command Staff. We are reachable on this board, the Academy Commandant's Office MB, Proboards private message, or email (s47-acadcomm@yahoogroups.com). Thank you for joining our unique simming community, and most importantly, have FUN! =/\= Captain ONE Academy Commandant From Admiral McCormick: The Starbase Conqueror Page on the main site has a Library with a few valuable links that may help you in your trivia searches. Here's the URL: www.s47.org/academy/AcademyLibrary.phpAnother hint is to place a 'key' word into a Google or yahoo search. Many answers can be found that way. If you have the moolah to do it, you may want to invest in the Star Trek Encyclopedia. Hope these hints help you in your quest for answers!

When may I begin answering trivia questions? Do I have to wait until I've been assigned to a ship first?

You may start answering trivia questions as soon as you submit a Join Form. You don't need to wait for graduation or even a training assignment. Welcome to Section 47, cadet!

You can already do the trivia if you like. The more points you gather before graduation at the end of your training mission, the higher your rank shall be then. You already are assigned to a ship: the Hanson. The rank images will show as soon as the acad commander gets around to updating them, please have a little patience on that front. As I said on a few other threads: we shall be leaving soon, the only thing that needs to be confirmed is the commanding officer for this mission.

If I may. You can go ahead and start answering trivia questions now. The sooner you do, the better chances of you receiving a higher rank after graduation. Of course it depends on how many you get right. So get started.
Your rank thingy will show up as soon as the ranks people behind the scenes can get to it. They do a lot of work, just give them a little time.
The first ship you will be assigned to will be an Academy ship, whichever is next to sail out. Normally they like to wait until they get a fair amount of cadets, before they set sail. After graduation, you may elect to choose your assignment wherever there is an opening, or you can just let personnel assign you where they think they need you.
Until your Academy ship starts its mission, you may partake of any current thread that is open and active with other cadets or officers. You can also open a new thread yourself, or maybe one of the Academy instructors will open one up and tag you (invite) to participate.
Have fun.

If the mission runs on time then the highest rank you can achieve is full Lieutenant if you answered the trivia before your were assigned a training ship. However, Lieutenant Junior Grade seems to be the standard or at least was for my mission. Just a little infomercial there.

It also depends on how long you hang around on the Starbase before you leave. I joined right before the ship departed, so I had about two weeks less trivia answered than people who joined earlier...

Please post it to the Academy Commandant's Office, which is located in the same section as the Biographies Officer's Office. Thanks.

I wasn't too sure if i was allowed to do the Trivia before being assigned a Rank / Ship.
But i'd submitted both my Bio & Trivia answer's earlier.
Hope that was ok.

You can answer trivia anytime after you've submitted a Join Form, regardless of your assignment (or lack thereof). It will be counted toward your character's rank as soon as he gets one.

I was just wondering when I would be added to the Cadet Info Page. Most likely in the next round of updates, which the academy command staff attempts to do regularly. I say atempts, because real life tends to get in the way at times, and it's a(n) (unwritten I suppose) rule that real life tends to come first at all times. ;D
