Cadet Whillis asked if we should peruse the attacking vessel. “For now Cadet, seeing that the ship has warped out of this area, we will return course to Star Base 28.” John instructed. “Our shields are down by 30%, and power to the warp systems has been affected. We will allow them to recover and send a message to Starfleet about this unprovoked attack; they will send a tactical team into this area to see if any forms of pirating or other malicious activates are happening.” Looking at the young Cadet’s expression John reassured, “Don’t worry Cadet, you will have more than your share of battles during your career … and let us both hope that you will come away this unscratched each time.” Turning his thought back towards the exercise at hand, John jotted down some notes on his PaDD and returned his look back towards the Cadet. “Our ETA to Star Base 28 is four hours and fifteen minuets, you need to review its flight pattern and docking procedures and be familiar with them, commit to memory Cadet. You will not have time to reference them during your approach and docking.” The Cadet looked up at John with a bit of a shocked look; to which John replied, “yes, you will take us in … all the way to ‘thrusters at station keeping, sir’. Your shift will be extended as well; until after docking is complete.” <Whillis>The bridge had returned to a more normal routine, if that is possible for a star ship, as each station was keeping busy with their tasks. The hum of the ship was like a heart beat monitor in sick bay. One could tell the health of the ship by that sound if experienced enough. The medical event that had happened on the bridge just moments before had everyone’s stress levels elevated. The Cadet’s first realization that training missions wasn’t a holodeck simulation with safeties activated always gave them big eyes and trance-like stares. The instructors were a bit shaken by this as well this time too. So soon into a mission and already an instructor hurt; all were hoping that this wasn’t going to be the norm for this mission. (OK … the simulation on the bridge isn’t over … you thought it was didn’t you … *shaking finger* … just a short breather. Remember that during battles, away missions, etc. EVERYONE posting together and interacting with each other is what makes simming … well … fun.)An alert sounds on the Tactical console from Tactical sensors … as well as the Navigational sensors … the ships (yes there are more now) that had tucked tail and ran before are coming back … their weapons are charged and are locked on the Hanson … the lead ship is approaching from the starboard side at mark 315 (Who can tell me if mark 315 is above or below the ship … and the S47 web-page link that has that info )

OOC: I hoped you got that I was calling you a "he" because that is what most people think of when there is an attacker, I did that on purpose only to add to the surprise when I find out it is you, sorry if I offended you. OC: "Are you going to be all day?"The unknown attacker's body went limp with a lifeless flop to the floor, Brandy quickly turned to his amazement he though he saw a smile on his prisoner. He quickly dismissed it as his imagination. "Now where were we," Brandy moved closer to his prisoner, "You are going to tell me one way or ano......" Brandy grabbed the hood to his prisoner, suddenly the intruder grabbed Brandy's hand and pulled forcefully causing Brandy's head to slam into the wall which he became disoriented. The intruder stood and stepped foreword and swung her arm to punch. After he hit the wall Brandy put one hand on his head and stumbled backward a few steps, He stayed alert enough to see the punch that came for him. Brandy quickly ducked out of the path of the intruders arm and when it flew by Brandy grabbed the wrist with his left hand and stepped behind his prisoner and pinned their arm behind their back. With his right he swung it around their neck and grabbed their throat, Brandy then pushed him very forcefully up against the wall. When the intruder hit the wall they let out a slight yelp, to Brandy's surprise was a much higher pitch and softness than he expected. "Wait a second," Brandy kept one hand on their throat and with the other lifted the cloak over his prisoners head. Brandy's eyes became very large when he in fact discovered that it was a pregnant Commander Hope. Brandy released her from his grip immediately and stood at attention. "Sorry sir, uh commander, uh ma'am, sorry, I had no idea, are you alright?" <Commander Hope>OOC: I also did not know your character was pregnant until your last post:)

Drew watched the bridge crew working frantically at there stations. He was pleased at how quickly the Cadet’s had responded to the situation, he had noted a few minor hick ups, but apart from that things had gone well.
It had been about five minutes since S’reena had left the bridge to play the part of an intruder for Cadet Brandy’s training. Drew knew the First Officer enjoyed taking on such roles, always eager to help Cadets through role play.
Just as Drew expected, the tactical console suddenly beeped, followed closely by a report that more ships were on the way.
“Look’s like our friend has company,” he said out loud, “target the lead ship, and stand by to fire.”
“Aye sir,” came the response from Tactical.
Nodding his head in satisfaction, Drew studied the readings on his computer screen. Here he could monitor the actions of each station, and adjust the simulation accordingly. It was while he was monitoring the Ops console that he noticed something that wasn’t part of what had been planned.
“Admiral, we are receiving a distress call,” Joan McCormack called out.
“On screen,” Drew ordered, as he keyed in the commands to end the simulation. At once the bridge returned to normal lighting as the red alert alarms dimmed.
“This is the USS Matthew to any ship,” came a desperate voice over the ship’s speakers, “we are caught in an unknown vortex, we urgently require assistance, I repeat we urgently require assistance.”
“Where is the Matthew?” Drew asked, leaning forward in his chair.
“I have them on sensors,” Joan replied, “approximately five light years away.”
“Relay the coordinates to the helm, set course warp 8.”
“Aye aye sir,” Graxon replied.
“Commander McCormack, have your team start to analyse whatever has the Matthew trapped,” Drew said calmly, “work with Engineering on understanding what’s happening.”
“I am on it sir,” McCormack replied, her eyes fixed on her console.
“Tactical, start preparing for rescue operations, we may need to board the Matthew.”
The two Cadet’s left at Tactical nodded in understanding, and started to get to work to carry out there orders.
Once again Drew was pleased at how well the crew was working together. No one seemed to be panicking, and everyone seemed to know what to do.
“Drew to Engineering,” Drew said over the intercom, knowing he was interrupting the drill, “we are responding to a priority distress call, I need the ship ready for anything.”
“Understood sir,” came Bates voice, “any idea what we are facing?”
“Commander McCormack will bring you up to speed Chief,” Drew replied, “I want your departments to work together on understanding what has the Matthew trapped.”
“We’ll get on it,” Bates replied, ending the channel.
Drew looked to the viewscreen to see the stars once again flying past at warp speed. The time for drills was defiantly over.

OCC:
OK, this is bringing us more onto the main storyline of the mission. I don’t really want to spend too much time on the drills. The basic idea is that the Matthew has become trapped in a temporal vortex of some kind, it’s pulling the ship towards it, much like a black hole does. As the Matthew gets closer to the vortex the crew are starting to age at an accelerated rate. The Hanson will have to find a way to free the Matthew before its too late, but without getting trapped in the vortex itself.
Operations and Engineering, it will be your tasks to discover all this over the course of your posts. Also, we need to discover the cause of this vortex, is it something the Matthew did? Is it being attacked? Or is this all just accidental? Don’t jump straight away to the answer, but explore what the different causes might be.
Tactical and Helm, we need to make sure that the area around the Matthew is clear, again, what has caused the rift? If they have been attacked, is the attacker still in the area? Who might it be? What ways might the Hanson be able to protect itself? Like Operations and Engineering, explore what the different causes might be.
At the moment there is no answer to any of these questions. All of us can explore the storyline, and see which direction it takes us in.
Also, it’s going to take time for us to reach the Matthew, you don’t need to be on duty in all your posts. There is still a meal put on for everyone in the mess hall – a great way for your characters to interact with people not in there departments!
Also don’t forget Sickbay will want to give everyone physicals.
Any questions than please feel free to contact myself or Commander Hope.

After Hannah showed her results to me I started on my job.As I looked on the Power Distribution Network I seen that some systems where getting more power than others.
After a little checking I seen some stations where diverting power to make up for power loss or lack of power.After that I ran a diagnostic of all the stations to see what ones are taking what.Then I went to the Commander and asked him what I should do about the power being diverted.

Jack listened as Graxen told him to resume course to the starbase. He was suprised that he was going to be docking the ship after the fiasko at departure. He hoped he would not mess up again. "Yes sir, I will do my best to bring us in safe sir." He sat at the helm setting course when multiple targets came on his sensors. ~Oh great. Here we go again,~ he thought as he prepare to evade more shots.
“Admiral, we are receiving a distress call,” Joan McCormack called out.
As the Admiral ordered the message on screen the ships on Jacks display disapeared and lighting returned to normal. He sat listening to the distress call and plotted the course he got from ops and went to warp again. "On course at warp 8 sir," he informed the Admiral. Jack took this Oportunity to insure that the Inertial dampeners were still aligned after all his manuevering. Then he sat back and watched to keep every thing working and try to prepare himself for navigating around a vortex with some obviose signs of a strong gravity field. He looked up some info on the diffrent types of vorexes that starfleet had incountered that it could be. The problem was there were so many, and space was still full of the unknown, they could be facing a type of anomoly never encountered before. This excited Jack a little, if it was new he would be coming up with new ways of flying the ship. This also scared him alittle as there was no manual to show him what to do.

(OOC: Handling things a bit out of order so they work better down here "Commander, what I should do about the power being diverted?" Shelby asked, walking up to Noah. It was time to explain the power distribution net. "Where power goes is directed by the power distribution net, Cadet. Although control of it is often left to the computer, which judges power needs and re-adjusts accordingly, it is also just as easily controlled by manual input. You'll find the power distribution station over there," he said, pointing to a station across the room. <Tag Shelby> "Drew to Engineering,” came the Admiral's voice over the intercom, “we are responding to a priority distress call, I need the ship ready for anything.” “Understood sir,” Bates responded, after tapping his comm-badge. “any idea what we are facing?” “Commander McCormack will bring you up to speed Chief,” Drew replied, “I want your departments to work together on understanding what has the Matthew trapped.” “We’ll get on it,” Bates replied, ending the channel by touching his comm-badge again. Lieutenant Bates came over to join him. "What is it?" "Distress call. I need to see it," he said, wheeling over to the necessary station. Lieutenant Bates went ahead of him and brought up the distress call. “This is the USS Matthew to any ship,” came a desperate voice over the speakers, “we are caught in an unknown vortex, we urgently require assistance, I repeat we urgently require assistance.” "Vortex, ey?" Noah said to himself. He picked up a PADD, and started making notes. "We'll need to beef up the shields..." he said, beginning to tap way. "We'll also need to recalibrate possibly, once we know more about this thing....We'll want to reinforce structural integrity, and the deflector...And that's just general stuff," he said, looking up at his similarly-named assistant. "Indeed," Mike replied simply. Noah tapped his comm-badge. "Bates to McCormick. As the Admiral said, we'll be working together. I've checked the sensor logs and probably know everything about this that you do. Do you want to come here, or just coordinate over the comm?"

Joan heard the Commander, but made no movement to answer her on how long before they would reach Starbase 28 wanting one of the cadets to find the answer and give it to her. Once the commander is gone, Joan hears the sound of capps stomach, and sends him down for the food in the mess hall.
<Capps>
Not too much later Joan realizes a real distress call has come in, and that her cadet hadn't seen it, or just hadn't gotten to it yet. "Admiral, we are receiving a distress call." She says hearing the order to hear the automated call.
Once she has her orders, she brings up information on the area the ship is in, and notes there is a vortex there. She wonders if that could be the only thing going on though. It seemed to simple to just be a vortex, and something was telling her that was way wrong. "Grayson, tell me what you can find on the system the Matthew is in." She says hoping he can spot something she didn't.
Suddenly she hears Bates voice on the comm, and realizes why he is calling. "We are looking at the information that has been collected about that particular system. I do see that there is a vortex, but I don't know that is the reason for the ship being trapped. We will work over the comm for now, and if the need arises we will get together." She says turning back to Grayson hoping for his answer.

John was glad to see that Cadet Whillis had reacted to the Admirals commands so quickly and also watched him call up information about a vortex from the ship's computer.
"Cadet, well ... as you know, this isn't a simulation. What ever happens will be for real. So, I will still have the ability to over-ride any command you place into the flight controls, however I will only do that in the most extreme incorrect judgment call. ... and even then, time may not allow me to do so." John wasn't treating the Cadet but conveying to him that this was real ... there were no second changes. "You are on the correct trail looking up how the ship will react to space that is distorted. Always keep your distance from even the outer effects of the gravitational currents that my exist; the Admiral will instruct to move in closer if he sees that is needed. We will know more information as we get closer to the anomaly."
<Whillis>
"You will need to work with the science department ... they will be feeding you information about this vortex. You will also need to team up with tactical in order to keep a keen eye out for alien influences ... we don' know what will be out there... so your eyes are just as important looking for things…not just simply reacting to them." John reached up and placed his hand on the Cadets shoulder, "all that class time comes down to this ... "
John sat back in his chair and started to sense the minds of the crew ... it was now time to pull off the instructor's hat and put on the ships counselors hat. The Cadets on the bridge were starting to feel like the control they thought they had was leaving them. That was replaced with a sense of uneasiness. Turning around to face the Admiral John gave a concerned look in his direction. Typing a few words into his PaDD, a message appired on the Admiral’s armrest.
>>>Sir, as counselor, I feel it important to inform you that the stress level on this ship just went off the scale. They need a place to rest that stress sir, or we may have a Cadet or two who will freeze under the burdens of real-life circumstances of a Star Ship. I know we haven’t had a chance to talk, and I don’t know how related to your past counselors, but I feel that is my duty to inform you … sir Graxen, out<<<

Jack sat watching the stars and reading up on efects of vortexes on starship flight and other operations. Jack was emersed on his reading and was getting ready to call up some charts on the region. He was cureose about how the vortex was formed. He suddenly relized his instructor was talking to him.
"Cadet, well ... as you know, this isn't a simulation. What ever happens will be for real. So, I will still have the ability to over-ride any command you place into the flight controls, however I will only do that in the most extreme incorrect judgment call. ... and even then, time may not allow me to do so." We will know more information as we get closer to the anomaly."
"Yes Sir." Jack felt a whole new level of stress he did not know even existed. He had ben stressed in the battle but flying a ship in combat was something he knew quite well. Battles and the shaking of a ship from impacts was not new to Jack. However this vortex was the unknown, the first of many that Jack would face.
Jack looked up at his instructor. He seemed so calm. Jack remembered his father being just like that, and it was nice to have some one to look up to that was like that as well. "Yes sir. I will not fail," he said determined to keep his promise. He looked back at his sensor display that showed him all the information they had so far about the anomoly. He decided to send a message to the tacticle station since they were really the only people that could awnser this. >>>do either of you two back there know of any weapons that could create a vortex like this? If so do you know any race that would have this kind of weapon? From: Jack AKA the guy flying.

S'reena gasped for breath as she was slammed against the wall. Just as suddenly as she was grabbed by the throat, she was also released. Gazing up, she found herself staring in the concerned eyes of he marine cadet, who was asking her if she were all right. "I'm fine cadet," she replied, "and you're a very quick fighter though I do remember telling you to solve this in a non-violent way. You broke lieutenant Parker's nose, and I'm sure that I'll show a couple of bruises myself."
She gazed the cadet over as he stood at attention. "At ease cadet, overall you did quite well. Now, let's return to the bridge, as I see the drills are over."
<Brandy>
Seconds later, cadet and instructor arrived on the bridge. Brandy joined Tyrron and Soaringstar at the tactical station, where both Klingons were instructed to brief the human marine on the situation, and where Brandy was to inform the other two of his combat resolution.
<Tyrron/Soaringstar>
"Trouble sir?" S'reena asked, as she joined Drew.

As I said Tyrron and Soaringstar walked back to that tactical screen, and started to analyze the data. Tyrron's job is to annalyze the attack systems and Soaringstars job is to analyze the defense systems
"Hmm, It seems to me that these are a couple of pirates. The ships is indentified as BLOUD HOUND GANG light attack craft." "Great Pirates, I hate them they have no honour and are not capable of fighting they are pathetic" He said with an look of disgust on his face.
"It's not that armed it got 4 phaser's and 1 photon torpedo. I gues it's more the type of an scout rather than something you wish to fight with. It got a maximum sublight speed of 40 and it had like 2 squads of marine's onbaord." Hmm, they must have an base around here close PIrates are always keeping close tho their base.
"I will ask the commander if we are aloud to persue that pirate, locate the base, dock and kill them all. That bunch of honourfull, weak and cowardice people. There is no honour if you flee from a fight and they should be punished!" And Tyrron became angry and slammed his fist on the table, all the people around jumped up, with an scared look on their face. "Sorry"
"Soarinstar what did you found out by the way?"
"Hey Brandy, How are you doing?"
The infromation on the display suddenly dissapeard and became blank. "Huh, what the..." sudenly he heard the alarm this was just an drill to test you guys and then he heard a new mission. Damn, why now I just wanted to train myself my body. In one of the many simulations programs. Maybe i stil got time for that, first lets get something to eat. "Brandy, Soaringstar wanna join me in the meal? I've got to eat something i'm starving.
Gues I will got to the simulations program later after dinner, I know exatly how my training shall be.

(OOC: Yet another joint post between S'reena and myself)
Jason sat at his desk, reviewing Personnel records. While skimming through the Senior Staff, he was reminded of something: Commander Hope's date of birth was missing from her file.
"Hey, Michael?" he called into the next room.
"Yeah?" Michael replied, coming over from the Medical Lab.
"I may have asked this before, but why is S'reena's date of birth missing?"
"Because we don't know when she was born," he replied. "Theres no record.
"Hmmm," Jason said, thinking. "I think I remembered seeing something in my new equipment roster that could date things more accurately." He looked in the database. "Ah, here we go Advanced Cellular Senescence Scanner, or ACSS. 'New scanner sensitivity and diagnostic sub-routines allow for the determination of age of an organic entity to within one week of date of birth."
Jason grinned with excitement. He tapped his comm-badge. "Sickbay to Commander Hope."
"Hope here, what can I do for you doctor?" S'reena replied, rolling her eyes at Drew. Usually, when sickbay wanted something of her, it wasn't going to be fun.
"Commander, I know I keep asking you to help me test out new equipment lately, but would you mind one more test?" he asked.
"If the admiral can spare me, sure. But you'll owe me doctor," she replied, as she received a nod from Drew. ~yeah sure, you're still going to get me back for that holodeck trick, you're relishing in this~ she thought, as she walked towards the turbolift and called one up. "I'm on my way doctor."
A few minutes later, she walked in. "Thanks for coming," Jason said. "I wasn't entirely expecting you to cooperate."
"You weren't?" S'reena gawked, "just what exactly do you need me for? You aren't going to poke me with things are you?"
"No, I just need a blood sample," he said. "Commander, thanks to some new equipment, we'll finally be able to determine your exact age, down to the day you were born."
S'reena's eyes widened; she'd finally know how old exactly she was. Her parents had never been able to tell her as the records of her birth were lost in a fire at the hospital she'd been born in. Then she smiled. "Now doctor, you do know it's impolite to ask a girl her age don't you?" she smiled, as she took off her uniform tunic and held out her arm towards Black. "By all means, do your magic."
He carefully took a blood sample from her arm, and then inserted into a slot on a console. "Computer, intiate Advanced Cellular Senescence Scan."
"A what scan?" S'reena querried, as she pressed a gauge to the tiny wound where Black had drawn his sample.
"Cellular senescence. You see, aging occurs because over time, cells lose their ability to divide. Most humanoid species have a genetic chain of sorts within their DNA. Every time a cell divides, one link of that chain disappears. When the chain runs out, your body deteriorates and dies. This scan will determine how far along in that process you are, and therefore your age."
"Oh," S'reena said, her interest peaqued. She glanced over Black's shoulder at the readings; she could understand the science behind it, but the medical part was beyond her. "And all it takes is a blood sample?"
"Your blood contains DNA as well. Although I also took some of your skin as well. I just didnt tell you," he said, winking. "That's sufficient for determining it."
"Why you," she grinned, mock-swatting at him, just barely ruffling his hair, "that's stealing! No seriously, how long will this take?"
The computer beeped. "It's done," he said, and brought up the results.
"And?" S'reena asked, almost eagerly, "how young am I?"
Jason chuckled. "According to the results, and Earth's calendar, you were born on July 9, 2353. You're 38 years old."
"Well, I certainly don't feel that," she chuckled back, "I feel a lot older!" She gently patted her abdomen. "Especially now...."
"You're thinking in human standards, Commander. You're Romulan. Your species lives longer than mine. And even in human standards, you're still in a reasonable age to have a child."
"Perhaps," S'reena smiled, "but I said I felt older, not that I was older." She winked at him. "Being pregnant drains you...that and this marine cadet was a little rough on me earlier." She showed him the bruise at her throat. "He's quite strong, and very quick to respond. And he was truly sorry because he hadn't recognized me."
"Mmm," Jason said, noticing the bruise now. He grabbed a dermal regenerator, and healed the bruise. "There you go."
"Ah, you didn't have to do that," S'reena said, still smiling. "Well Starfleet is going to have a ball, they finally know when to send me a postcard for my birthday," she continued, "thanks doc, though I do hope this is the last time you need me as guinea pig."
Jason chuckled, "I'm running out of new equipment to test anyway," he said, and shrugged.
"Good, see that you don't get anything new anytime soon," she said mock-angry, "now, can I get back to work or is there something else you needed me for? Now that I am here......"
Jason laughed evilly. "Oooo, you just gave me ideas." But his expression lightened. "No, that's all for now. You can go back to the Bridge."
"Why thank you doctor, and remember, you owe me!" She slapped him on the shoulders jovially and turned to leave. "Oh, I would recommend preparing sickbay for casualties doctor," she said, all laughter gone from her face, and her whole stance was very serious all of a sudden. "We've picked up a distress signal, and it isn't a drill."
Jason's face became serious. "Understood."
S'reena left, and Jason went back to his work.

Noah showed them the computer console for power disputation and they got to work on re-calibrating the system. They hoped that once they sorted the power field that the warp field would return to normal. If it didn’t naturally sort itself out they would probably have to re-calibrate that as well to get it back working with the default power setting. But they needed to get the power system back running normally before it made the problem with the warp field any worse.
As her and Shelby worked together on the calibration, she thought it would be a good time to fine out a bit more about him.
“So where are you from?” she asked Shelby.
<Shelby>
“I have lived all over the place, was born in Sydney Australia and my family are now living in England. I’ve also lived a board a starship, in San Francisco and a few other places,” Hannah explained, thinking of all different places is had lived and grown up in and how they had affected who is was today.
<Shelby>
“Do you see much of your family?” she asked as she continued to work on the calibration.
<Shelby>
“I try to go visit mine when I ever I get a chance, I love to see my two twin brothers and take them up flying and see how much they have grown and changed,” she said with a smile, thinking of the two boys who were now seven. Shame she didn’t have as much of a good relationship with her sister.

As me and Hannah began working at the power disputation station Hannah asked me a little about myself.
Well I have lived in the mountains my entire life with my grandma.I had a vary interesting life after my parents left for the academy.I had a Grandma that was vary old fashion so I started learning at a vary young age.I never had all these influence of 2 parents or sibling I'm a only child in a old fashion home.
As we continued working on the calibration she explained about where she had lived then she asked me about my family.
Well like i said be for my mom and dad where always gone and one of the only times i seen them I got my eyes messed up tho I kinda like the color the didn't like how I got the color...I only have my parents and my Grandma..
Then she explained about her family and how Manny sibling's she has which makes me kinda feel lonely in a way.
After that we had made it to the base of the program and started to try to make it all even.After about a minute of it I started to try to just take the last normal reading and work my way up from there.I sen when we entered warp that the problem just started up for no reason...

Shelby was working well on the power system recalibration and he appeared to be nearly done. Hannah set up another diagnostic ready for when he was complete to see if the warp field had reset it’s self or would require help from the engineers to do so. Hannah waited for Shelby to complete the recalibration. She found herself watching him and that wasn’t because she was interested in what he was doing. She was interested in him, she found herself fascinated with his unusual coloured eyes. She had to know the whole the story about them.
“I guess you have probably been asked this thousand of times, but how exactly did your eyes go that beautiful colour?” she asked, not meaning to say beautiful, it had just slipped out.
<Shelby>
Shelby completed the recalibration and started a check on the power system. Hannah began to warp field diagnostic hoping the recalibration had fixed it. As they waited Hannah couldn’t resist finding out more about Shelby, he fascinated her and the more she learnt about him, the more she realised she had feelings for him.
“What do your parent do in Starfleet?” she asked.
<Shelby>
“My mother was a pilot in Starfleet, but was killed in a shuttle accident over a decade ago,” Hannah said feeling sadness over thinking about her mother; being in space had brought it all back to her. All the emotions she had tried so hard to suppress, “My father also spent a few years lecturing at the academy.”
There was a bleep from the computer indicating that the diagnostics were complete.

As I finished up on the P.D.N he could feel Hannah's eyes but it didn't bother him at all just then she asked him about his eyes.
Well when I was 5 or so I was visiting my parents and I got into a chemical and thats the result of my eyes.The doctors where really amazed that I could still see comparing what could have happened to me.After that I finished the calibration and we started a diagnostic on the warp field to see if it was working correctly.
After that I started to notice that I really liked the fact that Hannah was so interested in me because I was just as much in her.Then she asked me what my parents did in star fleet.Well My mom and dad where both Engineers and my grandma was a ship designer for a number of years.After the chemical accident my parents near let me on a star ship again in fear of another accident which is funny comparing what I do now.
Then she told me about the sad death of her mother and her dad being in star fleet.Then I seen a lot more emotional in her voice as she talked.
Then the computer beeped as it was letting us know it was done.I checked it and it was at 100% power efficiency.
After a second of silence Commander bates started to walk over to us just be for he got there I asked Hannah if she would like to maybe get some dinner after duty and if she did what exactly does she like to eat?

“I would love to get some dinner after the shift,” Hannah said with a smile pleased that Jebadia had asked her.
“I actually have a craving for a lamb,” she said answered the second part to Jebadia question. Thinking about food made her stomach rumble, she realised it had actually been a while since she’d eaten. The cadet were all meant to eat at that buffet but because the early departure they hadn’t had a chance. Hannah hoped that Noah would let them go for food soon, at least a snack before her stomach rumbling started to bother her.
Hannah looked over the final reading of the diagnostic, recalibrating the power had nearly fixed the warp field leaving only a slight problem. It took Hannah only a minute to adjust so the warp field was right again.
Noah came up to the two cadets.
“We have fixed the problem with the power distribution,” Hannah said, “What would you like us to do next?”

She gazed the cadet over as he stood at attention. "At ease cadet, overall you did quite well. Now, let's return to the bridge, as I see the drills are over.""Yes ma'am." Brandy said as Commander Hope moved in front of him and out the door to the nearest turbolift. Brandy stayed right on her heals but refrained from speaking out of nervousness of what had just happened, not to mention how he would have to apologize to the officer he broke the nose of* even though with the strike Brandy set up he should be dead* After they arrived on the bridge Brandy was told to return to the tactical station, to which he did. "Hey Tyrron, Soaringstar, how'd you guys do." Brandy's head scanned the bridge until his gaze came upon the blood stain that still had not been cleaned from Lt. Arrakis. Brandy's head quickly turned with great urgency to the two cadets, "How is Lt. Arrakis, did he make it.... Is he OK?" <Tyrron/ Soaringstar>"Whew, man... I'm glad he's alright." The two cadets looked at Brandy in an awkward way. "I mean I'm glad that he's alive.... It's unfortunate that he's in a coma, but at least he's alive." Brandy said as he rested one arm on the top of the tactical console. Brandy's face lightened and with a smile across his face he spoke, "MAN, what a drill, that was awesome!" Brandy raised both his arms to just in front of his chest and moved them with enthusiasm as he spoke. "I shot two people, I broke someones nose, I even shoved the Comman....." Brandy stopped himself as he noticed that peoples eyes were now trained on him, Brandy's stature quickly became straight and rigid. "I mean." Brandy lowered his voice to a low, dull monotone, "Good training." Brandy looked around as the eyes turned and resumed the work they were doing. After he saw that everyone was no longer staring he snuck a small smirk to his comrades. "So how was the drill on your part?" <Tyrron/ Soaringstar>"Mmm, sounds fun." Brandy stood with a slight nod of acknowledgment. Brandy looked down at the tactical station and saw the vortex info that was displayed. "What the heck is that?" <Tyrron/ Soaringstar>Brandy's eyebrows raised, "So thats why Commander Hope ended the drill, she must have seen out a window that we were at warp, which was not part of the test." Brandy stood and tried to begin to contemplate on the dynamics of what could cause a vortex like this. He knew it had to have temporal distortions, and time dilations, which caused the Matthew's crew to age, but at the moment all he could concentrate on was the deep growl that came from his ever increasing empty stomach. Brandy looked at the time and saw that is was very close to the end of his shift, he turned to as his fellow cadets to see if they would like to get something to eat when. "Brandy, Soaringstar wanna join me in the meal? I've got to eat something I'm starving." Came from the large Klingon. "Well I was just going to ask you the same thing. I didn't know Klingon's where telepathic." Brandy slapped Tyrrons arm, Brandy hoped Tyrron had a sense of humor. The large Klingon just stood there, his eyes gazed unwavered into Brandy's. Several moments passed by as Brandy's face went through a series of strange looks. "Mu-ah-ah....." The Klingon let out a loud burst of laughter followed by a stiff punch to the arm. "Next time I will show you what real humor is.... The Klingon way." Brandy's eyes became large and his eyebrows wrinkled, "OooK, " Brandy turned to walk in front of the Admiral. "Permission to be dismissed for shift change sir." Brandy stood at attention as he waited patiently. The Admiral and Commander Hope looked at each other and exchange a few words to which Brandy could not hear. "Request granted, dismissed." Came from the Admiral. "Yes sir," Brandy said as he turned and headed for the turbolift. After he waited for Tyrron and Soaringstar to either go or stay they entered the turbolift. When the turbolift stopped at the mess hall level Brandy's companions exited and headed for the entrance, Brandy stayed behind. "What are you doing, afraid to get out?" Tyrron said to Brandy with a nice Klingon glare. "Nah I just want to stop by sickbay first, I have some business there, you guys go on ahead, I will be there before you finish your first battle story." A polite smile followed as the doors closed. "Deck 5" The turbolift made its way toward the new destination. The doors opened to release Brandy who walked down the hall and into Sickbay. When Brandy walked in he saw two officers on beds against the wall, he also saw commander black as he stood over the security officer that had his nose broke. "Hello... Commander black right, I just came by to see how they were doing sir." <Commander Black>"Well sir I hope everything turns out ok...." Brandy paused for a moment of thought. "You wouldn't happen to be available to do my physical now, would ya sir, my orders when I was assigned had a side note that said I needed to report for a physical when I came aboard, and since I am already here I just figured..... I might....." <Commander Black>OOC: I hope I was OK in taking myself off duty, I didn't really know if there was some kind of procedure or time, or something to do with that:) *His head shrunk to his shoulders and his eyes sagged into the cutest little "un-punchable" face that you ever did see*

OOC:
I apologize for my lateness. Been busy and such. But I'm back!
IC:
Cadet Grayson sat at his post, just keeping tabs on it all, waiting for further orders. His instructor allowed Cadet Capps to go to Mess to eat. Nick's own stomache rumbled slightly, hoping he would also be allowed to. But no such luck. *Ah well, I'll get to eat. Eventually.*
Then she mentions that a distress call has come in, and Nick's interest was grabbed. After it is listened to, Joan did a few things on her console, and then turned to Nick: "Grayson, tell me what you can find on the system the Matthew is in."
He is about to start his new assignment when someone comes in over the intercom: "Bates to McCormick. As the Admiral said, we'll be working together. I've checked the sensor logs and probably know everything about this that you do. Do you want to come here, or just coordinate over the comm?" *If my memory serves me correctly, that's the Chief Engineer.*
Joan then replied: "We are looking at the information that has been collected about that particular system. I do see that there is a vortex, but I don't know that is the reason for the ship being trapped. We will work over the comm for now, and if the need arises we will get together." Then she turned to him, and Nick knew he was expected to begin working, hopefully with an answer at the end of it all.
"I'll get right on it, Ma'am," he said. "Though I don't know much, and I'll probably have to have my work checked over." Then he turned to his console. *There goes lunch. Again.* He thought to another slight growl of his stomache. *But it's time to work, ignore food.*
He paused a moment, unsure as to how he should start, then decides to first do some reading on previous such occurunces. He read up on ones caused both by man (or other sentient creatures), natural occurences, or even those of unknown origins. Wormholes, blackholes, vortexes, etc. He was distracted when the Klingon Tactical Cadet laughed out loud, but he went right back to work. This was the only place he knew to start at. So he figured to do his best at it.
OOC:
Hey, does anyone know of a good website to go to to read up on this stuff? Maybe inspiration will strike if I read up on it. Thanks.

After playing guinea pig for the second time, S'reena returned to the bridge, smiling brightly. "Ask me my age," she told Drew, who furrowed his eyebrows in return. "Go on, ask me my age," S'reena insisted, "I finally know how old I am!"
"Very well," Drew sighed, wondering whether he'd get the regular 'you don't as a girl her age', get punched or actually would gain an answer, "how old are you?"
"Thirty-eight," she prompted with a smile, "though I feel a lot older." She sat down just in time, before Brandy approached the both of them with the request to be relieved so he, Tyrron and Soaringstar could get something to eat. "They've deserved a break," S'reena whispered at Drew, "they've done very well in their tasks."
Drew nodded in return, and the three cadets left the bridge.
"I'm a little worried about Cadet Brandy," S'reena continued in low voice, "during his exercise he stunned both myself and First Lieutenant Simonz, and he broke Second Lieutenant Parker's nose. He also nearly choked me, but he didn't know it was me and his own team-mates that were portraying the intruders. I've tried to convince him that we're all right, and that no harm's been done but I think he's feeling guilty." She paused a few seconds. "Also because he 'assaulted' a pregnant woman. He must learn that pregnant women can also be very dangerous....some species would take advantage of a person who wouldn't strike a woman with child. I certainly would....."
<Drew....this is something you may write your own response to;)>
"I recommend that Commander Graxen has a little chat with him when he comes back on duty."
<Drew>
"Commander Graxen, can we borrow you for a minute?" S'reena called over to the navigations team. As the counselor/navigator approached, S'reena was still wearing her worried look. "Commander, something's happened to Cadet Brandy during his training. He's deeply troubled for hurting his team mates, and nearly hurting me. Would you have a little chat with him when he comes back on duty?"
<Graxen>
Once the counselor/navigator had returned to his station, S'reena glanced over her shoulder. "ETA to USS Matthew?" she asked, "have we received any information on what happened to them yet?"

Calvin left the bridge to go have dinner in the Mess Hall just like his instructor informed him to. He hoped he had done a good job on the consoles that he manned while on the bridge. But he had put those thoughts away as he was ready to eat his food.
He sat in a comfortable chair that faced the window so he could see the streaking stars go by. Around him were a number of over tables and chairs which 90 percent of them were occupied. There were a few people still arriving and others were leaving. Needless to say it was a busy place.
His white plate with blue bordering around it was already placed infront of him with his solid stell gray fork. Tonight he was hungry, but he was having a nice big salad. A salad that his guardian used to fix for him. Its main food was lettuce, but it also included tomatoes, carrots, onions, a few peppers, but the best part Cadet Capps liked was the chicken.
He picked up his fork and started to cut into one of the chicken, but before he could take a bite another cadet walked up to him. "May I have a seat."
"Yes you may." Calvin said.
"It is just so busy in here, I can't seemed to find a seat."
"Well, no need to worry. That seat is empty. My name is Calvin what is yours?"
The two cadets talked while they ate.

ooc: posted as Arakkis. Italic speech is as though he's speaking, but he's talking in his mind only.....but he doesn't know that yet.
ic:
Jarod heard voices, as he slowly drifted back to consciousness. He had a massive headache, and when he opened his eyes, sickbay was starting to spin so fast he wrenched them shut again. Tears flowed freely from his eyes from both dizziness and agony. "Doctor?" he called, Hey doc, I'm awake!" He opened his eyes again and tried to look around.
Much to his own annoyance, he couldn't get himself to sit up. The familiar voices approached him, and he recognized the voice of one of the marine cadets. "Cadet Brandy?" he called, "Doctor Black?" Jarod was starting to get anxious now, why was nobody responding to him? He was clearly calling for them.
His eyes darted about as he cried out. The monitors started beeping as his blood pressure rose. Jarod was feeling the pressure of the oxygen mask on his face, and he wanted it off, yet he couldn't get it off. "Doctor!" he cried, but all he did utter was an anguished cry, but no sensible words were coming from him. "Why aren't you answering me!" he demanded.
What Jarod didn't realize was that he was on full life-support and that he was having the conversation in his mind only. Nobody heard him cry out, and there weren't any telepaths present in sickbay to pick up on his anguish and fear. His eyes were wide with fear, darting around, looking for familiar faces. He didn't realize either that he was paralyzed from the chest down.

Ayla had left her brother's side to return to duty. The security guards from Brandy's training drill had been brought in, and treated. Jason looked up, and a Marine Cadet...Brandy he thought his name was, came over to the Security guards laying on biobeds
"Hello... Commander black right, I just came by to see how they were doing sir."
"Doctor Black is prefered, Cadet. I ignore my rank the majority of the time. Anyway, they'll be alright. They're just resting. Lieutenant Arakkis on the other hand," Jason said, nodding toward the surgical bed, "Is another story surgery will most likely be necessary to just get him conscious again."
Well sir I hope everything turns out ok...." Brandy paused for a moment of thought. "You wouldn't happen to be available to do my physical now, would ya sir, my orders when I was assigned had a side note that said I needed to report for a physical when I came aboard, and since I am already here I just figured..... I might....."
Jason smiled. "You know, you're probably the first person ever on this ship to volunteer for-"
But he was interrupted by an alarm beeping from Arakkis. Jason went over to the diagnostic console. "His blood pressure's rising," he said, surprised. He started looking at the other readings. "Odd, according to these he should be conscious..." he said, and went over.
He was surprised to see Arakkis's eyes wide open, darting back and forth. "I'm surprised to see you awake, Lieutenant. It's alright, you're in Sickbay. You recieved a blow to the head, and you're paralyzed at present, at least until I can repair the damage."
"Can't-" Arakkis said abruptly.
"I know. You can't move. We'll change that in time."
