After the mild excitement in the ready room things had gone slightly downhill. Everyone was on duty. Well, obviously not everyone, but enough people that it might as well be. Lucy asked the computer to send messages to Sam and Ed as soon as they got off duty.
Her first thought was to head to her quarters. Then she remembered that she didn't have any. Not really wanting to bother L'Ola to ask a) could she borrow her quarters temporarily and b) could she get her own room at some point, Lucy headed off to the mess hall.
Once there she asked the replicator for a PADD and some pineapple juice. She downloaded the latest mission reports for the Vesuvius to see what they'd been up to since her last visit. At the same time she picked up the Operations report from Bellicose to see how Carrie and her other friends there were doing.
She sat happily reading for quite some time, vaguely listening to the comings and goings of those around her. The compromise meant that she felt part of the conversations without actually having to think of anything to say.
As Lucy reached the end of the last report she noticed that she had finished her drink much earlier. However the mess hall was starting to fill up, and she didn't want to risk losing her table by getting up. So she would have to leave that for a while longer.
Trying to decide what to read next, she toyed with the idea of checking out the latest security alerts file. She wanted to see if she was listed at all. But while hacking into the relevant area would be fairly easy, Lucy wanted to avoid anything like that on Starfleet ships. Although she hadn't had chance to talk to L'Ola about it yet, she had come round to the idea of working for Starfleet, which would mean getting her record as clean as possible.
Before she could think of anything else to download, a glass appeared on the table in front of her. Lucy looked up to see the guy that had appeared in the ready room earlier that day.
"Is this seat taken, or should I ask if it is okay to join you. Hi am maverick, trey maverick, so what’s your name?"
Lucy smiled at the speed he'd been talking *Slightly hyperactive then* "Hi, no that seat's not taken. At least it wasn't. Yes of course you can join me. And..." she took a deep breath in, "I'm Lucy Kanz..."
She watched the expected reaction of slight surprise appear on his face and waited for the reply. But she was surprised by how casual it was.
"Cool, you related to Commander Kanz then?"
"Yes I am. Fairly distantly related though. Having said that she did legally adopt me a couple of years ago so we're closer in that sense."
Trey gave a slight reaction to this as well but didn't say anything straight away. This left Lucy feeling that she should say something more, if only to change the topic of conversation. "So what do you do for a living round here?"

“Am this ships CNO and acting SMO” he answered
“I know am abit young to have such a big responsibility but I think I can handle it” he continued “am 19” he answering her UN asked question.
“So tell me… what are you into” he asked her has he leaned over the table, his face inches away from hers. He seem to be steering into the dark pools she calls eyes.
“There seem to be a very interesting sorry behind these eyes and I would like to know”

Loading the final destination instructions into the Nav computer, Byrne tagged Commander Fox to join their little jaunt. Watching Commander Jamison out of the corner of his eye, Will was affixed on Commander Hawk. Something was a little off between them. With that, The CONN gave the ship priority clearance for departure. Fox arrived a few minutes later with containers containing the totems and a starchart printouts from the data collected.
Climbing aboard, the small crew seated themselves and locked down with things called seatbelts. Inputting the coordinates into the computer, Hawk nodded to Byrne to engage the probes, while Fox uploaded the starmaps. Jamison sat waiting for the launch command.
After the probes detonated, the matter within the Nebula glowed brightly, highlighting a dense area of ions about 400,000 km away fro the ship. Aligning the totems, Hawk used a low power phaser beam to energize the crystals in the totems to create a pattern on the starchart Fox was holding. It showed that if the ship aimed at the 'doorway' straight at a 45 degree bearing, they could hit the entrance and pass thru. But it had to be precise. <TAG Majesty concerning gravmetric distortions and possible yacht assistance>
Sitting on the Bridge, Commodore Sonak sat watching the lightshow within the Nebula, wondering if this was going to work. Angered over the past events with her own crew, she started to feel disturbed that the corresponding crew aboard the Majesty for not offering a vessel from their own ship to assist in this leap of faith.
'Faith, something one needs to comfort themselves. I really need to get Lt. Nack here to assist me, I am starting to feel imbalanced. The hormones stirring within me are allowing me to 'feel'. And I can't have this affect me now that we are at such a critical juncture in this mission', thought the Commodore.
<TAG Hawk and Fox for updates with the star information>
Checking the data from the probes, Byrne motioned to Commander Jamison to move the shuttle forward slowly. Watching the gauges, Logan clenched his teeth hoping that Hawk's story would hold true.

Will had given the tricorder to Nack since he no longer needed it.
~I couldn't possibly keep a closer eye on him.~ Will had thought.
They were all aboard the craft and Commander Byrne had given him the go ahead to proceed.
Will slowly started the craft forward.

Kay: "So, who's monitoring the expedition into that whatever it is?" Aarons: "I'll do it." Michael got up and manned the nearest station rigged to detect extra vehicular activity. As he watched, he observed the strange vessel achieving a speed clocked at 1 Miss Daisy (they were going slow). The vessel arced and began entering the voided opening at a 44 degree bearing. How dare Jamison suck at Trigonometry. ;D "Hmm? I guess Logan was right. It was a pocket universe."
It was then that they pierced the threshold and lo there was a reading. A tachyon wave surged and only then did they disappear from detection. Aarons: "Um, I got some bad news and some good news." Kay: "What's the bad news?" Aarons: "The bad news is we lost Logan, Hawk, Fox, and Jamison to some form of time warp. The good news is I'm rid of them." ;D

Commander Jamison asked Nack why he needed the scans, but did not demand an answer after Nack had asked why someone from the Majesty was following Hawk. Will handed over the tricorder.
"Thanks Commander, this will prove useful in my research." Nack wasn't concerned anymore about the research, he just wanted to sleep.
Nack's room door closed. Nack returned back to bed. His research would wait, he was tired.
As he lay down, about to nod off, he was immediately awoken by the Commodore. She sounded different than when he had first met her... as if she was upset.
=/\= Lt. Nack, can you please assist me on the bridge? =/\=
Nack: =/\= Sure... but I don't know much about running the CONN=/\= Nack was tired, and wasn't sure why he was being called.
The Commodore let out a sigh over the comm. =/\= You are needed for medical assistance, Lieutenant.=/\=
Nack made his way to the bridge. Along the way, he stopped off in the medical bay and grabbed a med-kit. The Commodore was probably having side-effects again due to the pregnancy, and he might as well come prepared.
Nack arrived on the bridge, amazed by the sight of the Nebula in front of him on the view-screen. He almost forgot that he had a job to do.

When the Majesty's CO called her, Sonak was surprised to find her dressed in sleeping-attire. Only then did she realize that the two vessels might be running on different timezones. "You did not wake me captain, what can I do for you?" she answered the call in her readyroom. She listened quietly to Kaylana as she expressed her concerns regarding Falco and Hawk.
"Is there a chance for me to talk to Lieutenant Falco?" Sonak querried.
(Kay)
When she returned to the bridge after her call, she found Nick waiting for her with a grave espression on his face. "What is it commander?" the Vulcan asked, before he could say anything. She followed his gaze towards the main screen, where the nebula glowed brightly. There was, however, no sign of the shuttle.
She whirled around and faced the science officer on duty, since Fox was still residing on Majesty. "Launch probes," she ordered, "find that shuttle!" Then she turned on the operations officer. "Where are they? When did they disappear!"
(entrée for Claire?)
Sonak hissed as her abdomen cramped up and sank down in her chair, white-faced. She knew she wasn't due for at least another month, and she'd experienced labour before so she knew it wasn't that either. Still, she feared the worst and called for the new CMO to report to the bridge.
The young Ferengi indeed arrived swiftly, but stopped as he caught sight of the nebula on the main viewscreen. "Doctor!" Sonak snapped, drawing his attention back to her. "You need to stay here, and be ready in case we find the shuttle. We may need to beam you directly to them," she hissed between breaths as she tried to mentally calm her unborn. She was unsuccessful, as the unborn baby sensed her mother's anxiety for her crew.

*Ah he's an acting marine, that would explain what he was up to earlier then* she thought to herself.
He asked her about her interests and past. She knew straight away which one to talk about first.
"My main hobby is reprogramming computers. When I was little my mum used to test them for a living so I kind of picked it up from her. But I'm also into quite a few sports. Used to be alright at a few of them but haven't practised so much in a while."
Lucy stopped talking in the hope that Trey would have forgotten his second question. But he carried on looking at her in silence so she figured she'd have to say something.
"As for my past, it's fairly boring really. Raised by my mother, mostly on Vulcan which is how I got to know Commander Kanz fairly well. My mum disappeared a few years back and to make things legally easier I was adopted." She paused again, hoping once again for a change of topic. But for some strange reason she was actually enjoying talking anyway...

Everybody looked at Will. Will: "What!?" Logan: "What part about 45 degrees is so hard?" Will: "I was close." Fox: "If we wanted close, we would have closed our eyes and pushed random buttons." Will: "Oh like one degree ever changed anything." Hawk: "According to cartography even the stars aren't in the right place, we're in the past. What do you think about that?" Will: "Geez, then maybe you should have taken Aarons and not me." Hawk: "According to this, we're about a stones throw from Earth." Logan: "Sounds as good a place as any." Meanwhile, back on the Majesty, Michael was thinking ~I bet those guys are wishing they had taken me instead. Oh well good riddance.~ ;D

joint post [with lucy kanz]
Trey could she that she wanted a change of topic but she was also loving it
"You say that your pass is fairly boring but I can tell its not, so why don u tell me a bit about it
Luckily Lucy had spent long enough practicing to answer questions like that. She smiled coyly, "I don't know why you're so interested. There's not a lot more to it."
"Look I can't really tell you anything. Please can we talk about something else?" She was starting to feel a little uncomfortable
“I know all to well the difficulties of talking about ones pass so I will let you off this time but if you ever feel the need to talk am all ears " trey said as he ended the topic and started a new one .
“So do you have any boyfriends†he said with a big smile on his face
“Me no not at this point in time, I am like always busy you know, not much time for that sort of stuff, not that I don’t want one
Lucy grinned "Very politically put." The mess hall doors opened and the noise was shortly followed by sound of two over-excited officers running to the corner table.
Trey turned in the direction of the two voices, it was sam and ed. They seemed to be moving in his direction and seemed very excited for some odd reason, why were they so happy to see him he thought to him self I know I haven’t spent much time with them but that’s a bit much
Sam had the biggest grin ever on his face and was apparently too happy to talk, so Ed did the honors for him, "You're back! You're back! You're back!" Lucy smiled, "Yes I had noticed that"
Trey looked at the three of them with a bit of surprise on his face,"wait you guys know her" he asked
Ed nodded, "Yeah we've known her a while now. Didn't realize you'd made contact with Mystery Girl too though." Lucy rolled her eyes, why did he have to call her that now?
Mystery girl indeed... so are you guys just going to stand there he asked Trey maverick says: As they took there seats he asked so what the mystery bout?
Sam, being partially in-the-know, decided that now would be a good time to speak up. "It's what we used to call Lucy when we first met her because she'd never mention her past. Hey Ed, you wanna go get drinks?" Ed nodded and went to pick up everyone's favorites. While he was out of earshot, Sam continued, "But now we pretty much use the name as a joke cos we figured out there's nothing really mysterious going on"
trey smiled at sam response know that he was covering for her so he left it at that, so what are you to talking about ...wait first off how did you two met sam asked the two of them
"Talking about life, the universe and everything pretty much†Lucy replied, "Oh, thanks Ed. Hey pineapple juice, you remembered!" "How could I forget" Sam started to get a little impatient, "So you were saying how you met..."
trey leaned back in his seat and folded his arms" just one of these mysteries you talked about " he said with a smile on his face
I think I pointed a phaser at her
Lucy nodded, "He was making sure that Commanders Kanz and Martens didn't kill the Commodore" "Always a wise precaution with our esteemed Security Chief's recent history" Ed joked "while I remember, Trey are we still on target practice later?" he asked with a meaningful look on his face. Nothing had been planned yet but it had to be.
trey looked at his chrono “give me an hour to get things set up" he pushed his seat back and got to hid feet well guys see you soon and miss kanz it was nice talking hope to see more of you" as he walked away he stopped in hi tracks foe a sec. ... oh you are more than welcome to join us if you want
Lucy shook her head "Think I may still be questioning a certain Commander about her recent activities, but thanks for the offer."
Cool well sees you around" were the words the came from his mouth as he vanished in to the corridor
Ed excused himself from the table and followed Trey out the room. Once they were outside he turned to talk, "Did she tell you anything?"

As the shuttle pierced the tear, they felt as though the ship was folded and tossed thru the tunnel, until they came to rest in a dark section of space. After checking the charts, Fox realized that they were on the dark side of Charon. <TAG Fox> But the starcharts showed that they went almost 11,000 yrs into the past. Vaguely vibrating, they culd see the subspace tear to their port side.
"Fire the beacon, Commander Jamison, the rest of the crews are gonna want to know where we are and that we made it. We will sit here for the moment to see if we get a reply. <TAG Sonak>
"Commander Hawk, is this what you were expecting? I am totally lost here. According to the readings Mr. Fox is giving us, we are home, but not home. And what the heck did we fall thru? Jamison looks about as green as Sonak's blood. At least Fox has had experience with time anamolies." Winking at Fox.
"Will, where are we and what are our readings?" <TAG Jamison>
After about a half hour, a beacon emerged from the Vesuvius, stating their intention to follow thru the rift, but unsure if the 2 main vessels would make it thru the 'doorway'. After downloading the charts and data, Fox fired a data beacon back thru the hole.
Taking Hawk aside, Byrne whispered,"If the Commodore is going to make the trip, she can't do it in sickbay. I'm thinking her and the CMO should shuttle across. That way, if something happens, she will have immediate emergency care."
"Agreed", said Hawk. With that, they downloaded a message into one of the medical tricorders and beamed it into the rift. Once done, Jamison aimed the shuttle towards the coordinates Fox pulled up on the holodisplay.
"Awaiting your command, Commander", said Jamison. "Make it so", laughed Hawk. Byrne had to punch him in the arm with that one. "Had it coming", laughed Byrne. <TAG Hawk>

While trying to compose himself and to hold down what little lunch he had eaten before they had left, Will slowly turned to Commander Byrne.
"It's just like the readings say, sir. We're on Charon but not in any time period that any of us would be too familiar with."
Several moments later, Jamison aimed the shuttle towards the coordinates Fox pulled up on the holodisplay.
"Awaiting your command, Commander", said Jamison.

Trey gave Ed a slight smile “No she didn’t, she kept it all to her self, all she did say was that she was a distant relative of commander kanz.â€
"oh well. been trying to solve that mystery for years now"
“Its cool, I know what it’s like to have secrets, mystery girls is safe with me.â€
“But I realy dont know anything,she has never told us, i guess when shes ready she will†Ed stated to trey
"So you realy dont know what shes hiding?" trey asked not quite believing ED but some thing in his voice sead that he was telling the truth" “did you know back to the feature is like one of the all time best film films†trey said as he walked away from Ed “ well see you at target practice†"oh and try not to be late".

A beacon emerged from the rift, it was from the shuttle.
"Message incoming," the comm officer updated.
"Patch it through," Sonak said.
Turns out it was an update that the shuttle made it through safe and sound.
"Send a response to them. We're coming through." Nick said boldly from his seat. Sonak looked at him and gave him a nod.
Half hour later another beacon emerged from the rift. This time it contained some instructions and sensor telemetry.
Nick looked up at Sonak and winced.
"What is it Commander?" she queried.
"We're going to have to send you through in a shuttle."
"What!?"
"Looks like Logan's worried that you'll be seriously injured or possibly killed if you stay on the ship during the transfer. He's not sure what the stresses of bringing a large ship through would do to you or the baby. His recomendation is that you take Dr. Nack with you so if anything goes wrong you have immediate medical attention."
"I see," she said sitting back in her chair. She didn't look too keen on the idea but after pondering and staring at her belly she agreed. "Alright then," she looked back at Nack who was staring off into the nebula, "Dr. Nack meet me in shuttle bay 3 in 5 minutes. Bring medical supplies. Mr. Maverick you too."
Jolted out of his daze he nodded and stepped back into the turbo lift.
~~~sometime later~~~
"The shuttle got through," came the report. Nick nodded and then punched in some values into his computer.
"Take us in Lieutenant," he said to the navigations officer. The ship slowly began moving towards the rift. As the neared closer turbulence started buffeting the ship. The closer they got the rougher it became.
Then a seemingly impossible thing happened. The ship folded in on itself and was catapaulted through the rift, where it regained it's original size. They made it, unscathed.
TEG was not liking this plan at all. He was working on figuring how the two ships were going to fit through such a small tear in space-time. It was at that point that he recalled a project to create faster subspace signals, with the creation of a micro-wormhole. It was theorized that if needed the wormhole could be easily expanded to allow for more carrier waves by the application of a simple Tachyon Beam. He took his idea over to Nik Greenwood monitoring the situation next to Michael Aarons. When he finished the explanation, Nik and Mike both agreed with the idea, and TEG contacted the captain. Kay in turn contacted Commodore Sonak, who agreed that it was scientifically sound.
TEG ordered the Majesty into position, and had the main deflector dish charged to emit a tachyon beam for five seconds. During this time, Commodore Sonak and Dr. Nack hurried through the rift to the expedition team. Once a buoy returned through the rift indicating that the Commodore and Dr. made it safely across, Kay gave the order to fire.
= The brilliant blue beam emanated from the golden dish on the Majesty, illuminating the rift. The rift glowed blue, green, and yellow, until the beam ceased. =
On board, Nik reported that the rift opening had grown 200%, but was not affecting anything in the local vicinity. Michael reported no unusual reading from the rift itself. Kay contacted the Vesuvius to let them know, and graciously offer for them to proceed first.
--- Little did anyone on the Majesty know, but in the bowels of the stardrive section of the Majesty, disaster was building. One of multi-phasic capacitors attached to the main reflector, had somehow been re-triggered after the firing sequence was finished. If no one noticed on the bridge or engineering soon, it could burst, flooding the ship with high energy particles, which if they interacted with the anti-proton charge, naturally on the surface of the deflector dish, could destroy the Majesty. ---
Nack made haste to the medical bay, where he gathered some supplies. Even as a Starfleet officer, ergency only translated into clumsiness for the Ferengi Dr. After dropping almost every hypospray at some point between the medical cabinets and the medkit he was packing, he was finally ready.
An impatient communique came through =/\= Lt. Maverick to Dr. Nack =/\=
=/\ Dr. Nack here. =/\=
Nack was running a bit late, and qualified that assumption before Maverick could follow up on his inquery. =/\=I'm on my way . Lieutentant Nack out.=/\=
=/\= Thanks Dr. =/\=
Nack ran as best as he could with his over-packed medkit. If he was going to have to take care of the Commanding Officer of the ship, he was not going to be caught unprepared.
Nack finally made it to the shuttle. Inside he found a Vulcan fighting the urdge to express abdominal discomfort, and a Lieutenant eager to get moving. Nack strapped himself in.
As they made their way through the rift, Sonak let out a cry. Lieutenant Maverick heard it, but was too busy piloting the ship to turn to see what was happening. Against Trey's pleas to sit back down, Nack undid his safety restraints and went for his medkit.
The shuttle jolted, sending the small Ferengi flying across the shuttlepod, landing at the feet of the Commodore. Nack looked up from his position on the floor, only to stare into the eyes of his commanding officer as they winced due to passing pain.
The ship was making a few creaking sounds, and the force of some of the disturbances was enough to overcome inertial dampening. Nack grabbed a tricorder from his med-kit and scanned the Commodore, who had beads of sweat running down her face.
"Whatever the problem is, you better solve it quick Dr. This is going to be a little rough." Trey warned.
Nack realized elevated cortical activity within the Vulcan womb. Moreso than a vulcan baby would contribute to. Nack hypothesized aloud.
"The extra psionic energy I am reading must be disrupting your ability to control your emotions. This is probably what has been causing the emotional outbursts all along, although I didn't see this level of psionic energry earlier. It appears the increased nerve impulses due to your inability to control your faculties is causing damage to the baby's nervous system. I am going to have to induce labor if you want to save this child."
Sonak hissed. "You will not take this baby from me until she is ready to come out on her own."
Nack never liked dealing with Vulcans, because he could never beat their logic... however, this vulcan was even more difficult because she was not being logical.
"You better strap yourself in. This baby is about to fold." Maverick said in a 20th century inflection.
Before Nack could completely secure the last strap on his seat, the shuttle collapsed into the rift (or did the rift get larger around the shuttle?) and the three found themselves on the other side. Lt. Maverick sent a beacon through to the otherside confirming their safe arrival, and piloted the ship to clear the outward passge.
Nack unstrapped himself again, and made his way up to Sonak, who had nowhere to go so relented to the Dr.'s scans.
"Strange" Nack said, confused. "The increased cortical activity of the baby is gone. Are you feeling any pain?"
Sonak shook her head in the negative.
"It seams your psionic energy levels are also within normal parameters."
"Perhaps the rift recalibrated the Commodore?" Trey said jokingly, as he winked at Sonak.
Nack considered the statement. "There have been cases in the past where energy bursts and spacial anomolies have caused emotional responses. Perhaps this rift has reversed whatever problems we were seeing before?
Needless to say, Commodore..., I would still like to keep you under a watchful eye. When we get back to the Vesuvious, I am going to give you a modified comm. badge which will transmit you and your baby's status to sickbay. That way, if we see this again, we can induce labor before any harm is done to the baby."
Sonak verbally agreed, the first words she spoke after clearing the rift.
With nothing left to do but wait, the three sat in silence for the Vesuvious to come through, hoping that Commander Byrnes's assumptions were correct.
As they watch the Vesuvius disappear into the rift and Aarons partied like it was 2999, a slow ringing began. The sound started to become unbearable.
TEG: "What is that?! It's unbearable!"
Before them appeared a massive head. The head was of their esteemed Commodore Kruse.
Kruse: "This is the Almighty Bill Kruse. I bring you your ten commandments." Aarons: "What are they?" Kruse: "Commandments 1-9: STAY OUT OF MY ROOM! Commandment 10: DON'T DESTROY MY SHIP! Majesty-A sounds Canadian and Canada sucks. ;D (I swear that's just a joke.) This is Kruse, signing out." And with that he disappeared.
~before boarding shuttle~
Sonak wasn't too happy about being sent away; she'd be more vulnerable in a small shuttlecraft than in a large ship. And she wondered what good the CMO would do her and the CNO. One look at Trey told her that he wasn't too pleased about it either but that he was ready to see some action.
The Vulcan knew that he'd be leaving the navigation's spot to become a marine officer long before the young man had decided that for himself. She'd known ever since she met him that while he was a good navigator, he'd make a better marine. Especially with the way he looked out for her safety, as was a marine's job.
However when Nick overruled her as well, she knew she had little choice in the matter. Finally she nodded her consent and started for the shuttlebay. However, not before she contacted Kaylana Cornette on the Majesty one more time. "Go after the Falconians captain," she ordered, "get this background story sorted out. Enlist Lieutenant Falco's assistance, and if he refuses, tell him I will have him on report for disobeying direct orders. If he will not heed a captain's words, perhaps he will of a commodore."
~after boarding the shuttle~
The shuttleride was rough to say the least, though Sonak silently commented Trey on the excellent job he was doing while trying to keep control of the violently rocking shuttlecraft. Then she screamed in pain as sharp pain shot through her abdomen. Fear crossed her features as she glanced at the CMO. They exchanged a few harsh words, and in the end she let him tend to her.
When the rocking stopped, the pain stopped too, much to everyone's surprise. "What happened, where are we?" she breathed as she gingerly got to her feet to look out the main window. "Are we through the rift?" She was very aware of Nack's constant watchful eye and she wondered how long he was going to keep that up.
"You do not need to constantly watch me doctor," she snapped suddely, feeling very uneasy with just the two men present. "I am a doctor myself, I will tell you when something is happening that you should be aware of." The look the Ferengi shot her told her that his watching her was non-negotiable.
The Vulcan sat back down, not feeling like being sedated at any point merely because of more-emotional-than-usual behaviour. It had happened before, and she hadn't liked it. "Fine," she shapped, "have it your way, but stay out of my way. I have work to do. Trey, send a probe back through the rift if you can, and tell them we arrived all right. Nack, get to the science station and start scanning our surroundings. I will keep an eye on the tactical sensors."
Kay: "Well, you heard Commodore 'Pointy,' lets go find them Falconians. Someone get Falco up here. Aarons, get us out of this nebula and don't forget the 10th commandment." Aarons: "Don't go in the commodore's room?" Kay: "That's 1-9." Aarons: "Oh yeah." Aarons turned the ship around and they left the Paulson Nebula. A few hundred Kilometers beyond the nebula's perimeter the Majesty came to a halt. Kay: "Michael, what are you doing?" The navigator merely indicated they hold for a moment. Suddenly, as if planned, decloaked a massive avian ship. Aarons: "What is it about cloakable hostile alien ships that they have to look like birds?" Visual contact was immediately made. Prefect Aegypius: "Remember me!?" Aarons: "How could we? I barely know how to pronounce your name." <seriously> Aegypius: "Who is this?" Aarons: "Bob Rivers, diplomatic officer of the starship Majesty! How've you been!?" Aegypius: "Considerably better I assure you. Tell me, would you be interested in conferring with my people and I? The last time we were so rudely interrupted by a shrewish bunch of women and a detestable Tandaran." Aarons: "Why we'd be delighted to meet with you." Aarons continued to fake a smile in his best pretense of diplomacy. Aegypius: "Actually I was thinking that you would come over here. After my last ordeal with Starfleet you can understand my apprehension to come aboard your starship especially a more superior one than the last." Aarons: "Why by all means just tell me when and where and I'll be right over. But you will understand if I request to be armed as I will be alone on your ship?" Aegypius: "Naturally. Just signal when you are ready and we shall take care of the rest." Communications were closed and Aarons turned towards the captain. Kay: "Mr. Aarons, what the hell did you think you were doing!!!?" Aarons: "I think my intentions were quite well expressed. I have an open invitation aboard the Prefect's command ship." Aarons began to get prepared.
<I felt like splitting the posts> Aarons was now dressed in his Starfleet dress uniform trying his damnedest to look like an ambassador. He gathered in the armory along with Gypsy, the captain, and XO. Gypsy: "Now you know how to work one of these don't you?" He handed the CNO a hand phaser. Aarons: "Dude, my Academy mission had me running a gauntlet from a landing spot to an outpost while shot at by pirates; yeah I know how use one of these." Gypsy: "Hey man it's my responsibility to ask." Aarons: "Really? I thought your responsibility was to blow stuff up." Kay: "Michael I don't even know why I'm letting you go through with this." Aarons: "Because 'Pointy' told you to go find the Falconians." TEG: "You know we really should stop calling her that." Aarons: "I know, but it's funny." TEG: "Yeah, but she reads these posts too, ya' know." Aarons: Standing ready at Majesty's main transporter room, Commander Aarons awaited his captain to send the word to the prefect and be taken over to the command ship. As the signal was made, an energy surge surrounded the navigator and soon he materialized onto the Falconian vessel. Immediately after become coherent again he was escorted from the Falconians transporter room... <You know what? I'm gonna let Hawk describe Falconian architecture.> Until finally he was in a room with the most vaulted ceiling of them all, the Falconian bridge. Prefect: "Ah, Mr. Rivers, or should I call you Ambassador?" Aarons as Rivers: "Ambassador's fine or even Commander, I do hold the rank." Aarons extended his hand only to be left hanging. Apparently that was a custom somewhat alien to Falconian ways. He quickly withdrew his hand hoping not to look like a fool. "So, where should we begin?" Suddenly a wing confiscated his phaser and the prefect produced a rather personal disruptor device of which Aarons saw the business end of. Prefect: "Let's begin with why I shouldn't just kill you now and order your ship destroyed?" Rivers: "Because Starfleet has never once shown you hostilities but if you kill me or take up arms against that ship out there you'll face the full might of Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets and its allies. I assume you are familiar with how Starfleet successfully defended this quadrant against the Dominion?" <Tag Aegypius> Aarons discreetly fidgeted with his left sleeve revealing that the device was still there. Aarons: ~Blessed is the guy who invented the Viridium patch.~ With one of those, the Majesty's sensor would be able to pick up his location sectors away.
TEG entered Sickbay along with Kay to check up on Aarons. While the Majesty was traveling though the rift, his console exploded throwing him across the bridge, and causing him to hit his head hard. It was TEG that had called for the emergency beam out to sickbay, and after He and Kay had gone over the damage report, which was minimal, aside from the bridge console, and an airlock being damaged, they decided to check up on him.
The Doctor was busy tending to his wounds, but could not get him to wake up. Kay wondered if Aarons would ever be the same, and TEG wondered if he'd be able to pay back the Gold Pressed Latinum he borrowed the last time they were in port. Kay and TEG were both called then to the bridge to get an update from expedition team.
Watching the ships pop out of the rift, Byrne sighed when the Commodore's shuttle came thru. Commander Fox just sat there watching the screen for distortions in the space/time fabric hoping that the new vessels in the timeline would not create any ripples and create a paradox and Will finally got back to normal shade of skin color.
Tapping his fingers on the Conn board, Commander Hawk grimaced as the numbers and calculations didn't seem to add up on the console. Leaning over, Byrne glanced over his sholder at the display, wondering what he was looking for. As the Vesuvius 'unfolded', Byrne nudged Hawk to look up. "Your up, Commander. This is your show, because only you know where the book is. And I have a feeling if we enter the Sol System, we may find it hard to blend in. Commander Fox, I need you to go back to the Vesuvius and start working on the apparel and customs of the time, if you can."
A signal was sent from the Commodore's shuttle stating that all was well, and that they were ready to re-group with the main ship. Now that all was ready, Hawk inputted the last of the totem images and found a 'corridor' leading to the Peruvian continent on the planet they knew as Earth. Lineing themselves up, Byrne gave Commander Jamison the go ahead to follow the trail. Jamison entered the system at high impulse until they came in to orbit around the moon, waiting for the larger ships to catch up.
Hitting the comm-button, Byrne contacted the Commodore,"Commodore, I have an idea. We have to coodinates from the totems, but they are in the highlands in Peru. We can get the shuttle into the atmosphere lower above the continent, but any part of the Vesuvius would send the locals into shock with such a large fireball entering the atmosphere. I am asking you if we could take a single vessel into the atmosphere, the Minerva, being the most streamlined, but also can keep the main away team limited to one vessel. We need to rendevous above the South Pole." <TAG Sonak><TAG Fox for demographics>
Using the flight control, Jamison sat them in a Polar orbit awaiting the Vesuvius mode, Minerva.
After releasing the Minerva to Commander Byrne, the crew made a low-level pass into the atmosphere above the lowest tip of the Southern continent. Landing about 3 km from the site of the Book, Hawk, Byrne and Trey lead a team into the jungle. Using phased cloak suits, they managed to get access to a large temple located in the middle of the city. Using the tricorder, Hawk scanned the markings littering the streets and temples. Amazed, he gathered information, that the Peruvian settlement may have been the master site of the Flock that eventually relocates to Atlantis and, later, Easter Island. Bypassing large grups of people, the landing team gained access to the large throne room on which the Book was sitting on a platform opposite the throne. Setting up a dampening field, they were able to replicate the Book and place it back on the platform. Reaching the ship, they fled the planet to avoid any type of detection. Rendevousing with the larger ship, they headed back into the fissure and returned to present time. Taking the book to the Science Lab, Fox was able to isolate paragraphs in the text that showed Avain race-like persons interacting with persons of the time period. Almost as if by thought, the final pages revealed ships from the future being seen fleeing the planet. In shock, Byrne yelled, "Commander, does this shape look familiar?",pointing to a symbol on the last page. The symbol was shaped like the Minerva module, escaping the atmosphere at impulse. Shaken by this, Hawk realied that a paradox had occured and that they were the source of the conflict between the avains and the local people they were trying to help and caused the migration to Easter Island. Handing the Book to Hawk, Byrne saluted his comrade, and left the room. Hopefully Hawk would at least leave a data copy of the Book, so that Byrne could read it later. Watching the main viewscreen in Engineering, he watched a the Majesty headed off at impulse until it was out of sight. Heading for the Bridge to report to the Commodore his status report for the mission, Byrne was thrown across the corridor as the the ship felt like it was tossed like a marble. "Byrne to Bridge, what the hell is going on? We have lost gravity on Deck 16." "Commander, this is Martens, the supspace rift has collapsed and created a large shockwave as the realities converged, we are floating dead-stick. Get up here as fast as possible, Martens out." Reaching for the bulkhead, Logan attempted to launch hinself to the nearest turbolift. 'This is going to be fun', he thought. <TAG Sonak,Martens>
Prefect smiled with glee, you see he's the kinda guy who loves punishing others for fun. The Vesuvius drifted after the last volley of torpedoes impacted her hull.
"Get us out of here," he ordered the navigation officer. His orders were confirmed by a nod and how the lighting changed as the ship recloaked.
"They're retreating," Nanus reported from his sensor alcove.
"Good. That should teach Starfleet not to mess with Falconia," Prefect said with pride, the feathers on top of his head standing up.
He leaned back in his chair and watched the smoking Vesuvius turn and warp in the opposite direction.
"What ever happened to the other part of their ship and the Majesty?"
"I'm not sure," Nanus said. He started diggin through sensor logs. A warning bouy registered movement and reported to his screen, confirming his worst fear. They were in the nebula.
"What is it Nanus?"
"Umm nothing just a malfunctioning marker bouy. It's giving us false readings," He lied, the hunt for the humans was a pointless one. What was so bad about humans learning about the Falconians.
"Oh? Where?" Prefect asked, now he was standing behind Nanus looking over his shoulder.
"Umm," he sputtered. The Prefect saw the map and gasped. His eyes narrowed at Nanus.
"Traitor! You're protecting the Humans aren't you!"
If he didn't stick up for himself now he was never going to get a chance to again, Nanus thought to himself. He stood up and faced off against Prefect.
"You know what I am. What is so wrong with the Humans anyways? Maybe what ever it is we're hiding should be found. Maybe we need to make peace with what we've done in the past."
"Heresy!" Prefect was now livid, with a flash he left a scorch mark on Nanus' chest from his distrupter. Nanus' eyes glazed over and he collapsed to the deck.
Prefect holstered his disrupter and moved back to his seat.
"Take us to the nebula!"
~~~~
They arrived at the nebula to find the rift had been opened. Prefects feathers scewed at different angles. The Vesuvius was no where to be found and the Majesty was on her way into the rift.
"Hail them!" He ordered.
"Human ship halt your ship! We will fire upon you if you do not cease your actions!"
With the comm still open he turned to the weapons officer.
"Fi..." His words were cut off as he saw Nanus pulling himself off the floor.
"No," Nanus said weakly. He leveled a disrupter at Prefect and pulled the trigger. He vaporised the Prefect with a stunned Federation officer looking on from the viewscreen.
"Majesty continue on your mission. The rift won't hold for long though so make sure you get what you need as soon as possible."
The comm channel closed and Nanus sank into the captains seat. A medical officer rushed up to him and started treating his wound.
"Set a course for home," he ordered the navigations officers.

Sonak was relieved to be back aboard her vessel, but somewhat less than pleased that Minerva had been undocked and taken through the rift as well. She listened intently as the exchange between Martens and Byrne was heard over the secondary bridge's intercom.
A little cheer erupted when it was reported that the book was found, and both shuttlecraft and Minerva were on their way back towards them to redock. After a long silence, Minerva's bow finally appeared from the rift and another cheer erupted when finally the entire module appeard, collapsing the rift behind her.
"Permission to redock ma'am?" Logan smirked as his face appeared on the viewscreen.
Sonak glanced past Logan at Nick. "Permission granted. Have Commander Hawk and Lieutenant Commander Jamison report to Majesty after docking procedures are completed. You will be pleased to know that the Falconian vessels have retreated on their own accord."
Once Minerva had redocked, Sonak found her way back to the primary bridge and contacted Majesty. She was not greeted by Captain Cornette as expected; instead her first officer Commander TEG appeared on the screen. "Greetings commander," she started, "I assume you too heard the conversation that just transpired?"
"Yes Commodore. I know how important this mission has been to Commander Hawk."
"Then you also know that Commander Hawk needs to choose what he wishes to do with the information that is recovered. As I promised at the start, this mission was never meant to harm his people, but rather to uncover more about his people, and solve some of the mysteries that evolve around them. The book may just do that, but it is up to the commander to choose how he wishes to use that information."
"Hopefully, the commander will learn more about his people, and perhaps in time be able to open a dialog between the Falconians and the Federation."
Sonak offered the other first officer a small smile. "Then I assume you will be heading back to the Alpha Quadrant and Federation space?" she asked, "we will remain here to make certain this rift will never open again. After that, we too shall return."
"We are going to head back to Starbase Bellicose to make some repairs, and get ready for our next assignment."
After signing off, they watched the Majesty jump to warp, then Sonak turned to her senior staff. "As said, let us make certain this rift is never found again."
Hours later, a giant explosion revertebrated through the ship, jumping the Starfleet vessel to high warp. They did indeed seal the rift, but at the cost of being thrown much deeper into unchartered Beta Quadrant. Sonak climbed back in her chair, wincing slightly.
