OOC oh boy, i feel special, although you did say engineers, as the people needed to go down and remedy the problem, i guess i can see why i would be going.
IC i had my pack ready to go on my hip, and i was calmly but briskly walking towards the turbolift, "Transporter room" the lift beeped and speed away.
I soon arrived at the transporter room i was supposed to be at, though no one was here yet, 'maybe i am in the wrong one' i though to myself

With Johnson, Mike, Daya and another science officer with him on the transporter pad, Aral thought them ready to beam down to the surface.
"Mr. Asai." Aral nodded to the transport chief, and the blue light surrounded him and the others.
As they materialized on the planet Aral immeadiatly felt uncomfortable. They had been beamed to the largest city to speak to the representitives. He could see red in the distance and knew that these people's time was running out.
"Lets move people." He said and led them into the nearest building. People were rushing around, some holding packs or bags, others searching for people. Johnson was peering around, eager to begin to work. Daya looked a little worried. Pasek was taking tricorder readings. A man with black hair approached them.
He walked like a spider and spoke in stutters. Very worriedly he ran a hand through his thinning hair.
"Thank god. Can you evacuate immeadiatly?! We must leave very soon.... the lava is flowing steadily...."
Johnson spoke to the man, "We hope to find a way to stop the volcanoes, if that is not possible...."
"Then evacuation is the last alternative." Aral finished and the man looked annoyed.
"We've tried everything.... I don't know what you can do that our scientists can't..."
Daya interupted him, "What did you say your name was, sir?"
"Ravon, Ravon Crate, Mayor of this city."
"Mr. Crate," Daya said, "Are there any injured?"
"Yes, yes... we had some of our militants bring in some of the country dwellers who were injured when the volcanoes began. Our doctors are trying to help but they're quite overwhelmed."
"Can Mr. Daya be of assistance?" Aral asked. Ravon shrugged.
"I suppose..." He hailed a passerby, "Show this man to the infirmary." Daya went with the man.
"So, Mr. Crate, can we please have access to your research facility?" The man threw his hands in the air and Johnson looked slightly annoyed at the disrespectful gesture.
"What can I do?! Fine! Follow me." And he began to walk off. The 4 officers followed him.

I had followed the man for 5 minutes before he said a word to me.
" you must be a docter" i wasnt sure if he was asking or just making sure for himself, but i didnt answer and he didnt say anything else.
I reached the infirmary, and immediatly began working on the inured, many had minor burns, a few some major, and an occasional one had internal bleeding, i knew there was no way to help him, but i numbed his pain, and he sleep without pain for the rest of his afterlife.
" help...me" i looked around to see who was speaking to me, and i saw an old man holding what looked to be his daughter in his arms, she looked to be about 10 years old, and she was badly burned, i could heal her, but she would be scarred permenatly.
Nontheless i did my best to heal everyone that came in, and those that were already there. Soon i ran out of supplies and had to call for me from the ship.

As they walked, Johnson and Gibson were bringing up the rear.
Johnson leaned closer to Gibson as they walked and said in a hushed voice, "Sir, if we have to evacuate these people, can we get enough ships here in time?"
<Gibson>
Johnson moved on through the hot, red landscape with the others...

"I'd hope that we could, but I do trust the captain to get these people off alive." Aral said, and Johnson nodded, minimally satisfied with these words.
Ravon gestured them into a large room, blinking with fairly advanced technoledgy. He unenthusiasically told them what was happening.
"Our scientists have done everything they can think of, but they can't find a way to stop it. Since you insist that you know better than we- fly at it!" He said and went from the room, "I'll be down the hall, when you come to your senses!" Aral knew the cool words came from a feeling of panic on Crate's part.
"Alright- Mr. Johnson, Mr. Pasek, and Ensign Clark, you are the most intelligent members of our away team." He smiled trying to lighten the dark feeling, "I'm going to ask you to see if you can find a way to stop this. Remember- evacuation is the last option." <Tag=Johnson, this is your job since the other too can't post. Take it where you want to.>
"I'm heading to the infirmary to check on Daya." Aral said and headed off to find Daya. <Tag=Daya>

Johnson was nervous, science wasn't really his specialty, but he went for it anyway. He had reexamined his plan about using the phasers and found that when the Enterprise-D had used it, it was because the core was cooling, not because of killer volcanoes.
"Commander," Johnson addressed Gibson, "I think whatever's up with these volcanoes must be because of some sort of problems with the core. These sensors aren't advanced enough to scan the planet's core, but the sensors on the Jefferson could easily do it. We need to contact the ship and ask them to perform a detailed scan of the interior of the planet. Hopefully we can find out what's wrong and deal with it from there."

Commodore Loskene was in his ready room, reading over the data on the planet.
Planet: Planet Rova III is the third planet from the star, Rova. It has two Sattelites orbiting around it. Zsoh and N'gaph. Zsoh is a quarter of the size of the planet, while N'Gaph is 50% smaller then Zsoh.
The planet Rova III is roughly 5 billion years old. The native inhabitants perished long ago, and it is now a Federation colony. Evidence of past civilisation exist in architecture.
Climate: The planet has various climates. The majority of it is temperate glassland. (63%) One continent is entirely desert.
Loskene was getting a bit frustrated. He entered into the query box "Geology" Sub Query: Volcano.
Processing request... ... . . . .
Evidence suggests that volcanoes were once very active. Only Two active volcanoes at this point in time.
"Not anymore" Loskene thought to himself.
Loskene: Hmm...
Excavation into the crust have revealed that 2,500 years ago, a massive global volcano eruption occured. Within the layer of volcanic ash, pottery and tools were found...
Loskene typed in "In theory, could volcanoes be the demise of the ancient civilization?
... ... ...Affirmative.
Loskene: It seems history is repeating itself...
A hail came through to Loskene's ready room.
Officer: Sir, we are being hailed from the surface. They are requesting that we use the sensors to gather data on the planet's core.
Loskene: Yes, tell them that we will begin immediately.

One of the science officers, Lieutenant Freely (NPC) was working feverishly at his station, preparing the scanners for the core.
Freely: Sir, I'm having a difficult time getting a scan of the core. The Volcanic activity is disrupting readings.
Loskene: Well, what other options do we have?
Freely: Well... We could launch a probe at the surface.
Loskene: At the surface?
Freely: Yes sir, I was thinking a volcano.
Joni Kel: Wouldn't the probe disintergrate?
Freely: It would be possible to install shields... It wouldn't last too long, but it should be possible to get a quick, detailed scan.
Loskene: Get to it, Lieutenant.
Freely: Yes sir.
Kel: I wonder how the away team is doing.
Loskene: Commander Matthew, please assist the science team with the probe.
Matthew: Aye sir, let's go Freely.
Loskene: =^=Loskene to away team, come in please=^=
No response.
Loskene: Repeat, Loskene to away team, come in. Sigh...What is happening?
Kel: Could be interference?
Loskene: Possibly. Commander Matthew, Lieutenant Freely, I will also need you to find a way to boost our communications array. We are having trouble getting through.
Both officers nodded and left the bridge.

=/\=Johnson to Jefferson, respond please.=/\=
"Still nothing." Johnson said to Gibson.
"What's causing it?" Gibson asked.
Johnson took out his tricorder and looked at the reading.
"The volcanoes have started giving out some sort of radiation which is disrupting communications." Johnson informed him.
"Can we break through it?"Not with this equipment, but the Jefferson could, we'll just have to wait for them to contact us."
Johnson inspected the tricorder more closely, and what he saw made his insides twist up in even more tension.
"Sir," Johnson said with a note of urgency in his voice, "If the radiation keeps building at this rate, within 24 hours, it will be impossible to transport anyone to or from the surface using the transporters."

Aral looked around sharply at the slightly-younger man, "Are you sure?" he said seriously. Johnson nodded.
"What about shuttles?" Mike asked from the out-of-date consoles , he was running through scans and frowning. The suggestion was one of man who was trying to do two things at once.
Aral looked at Johnson who responded to the suggestion, "That could only save maybe 600-700 people if we're efficiant and thats only if we have all the shuttles going back and forth- and how many people did you say are on Rava?" Johnson looked at Mike.
"Approximatly 2.5 billion."
"My point exactly." Alexander slumped back into a chair, it creaked and he rolled his eyes in frustration.
"It looks like a waiting game." Aral said and Johnson gave him a very disgusted look to which he responded quickly, "Or not... lets keep trying to run through ideas." They each took a seat beside Mike and tried to keep up with him as he read. He pointed to something and they both leaned in to read it.
"See. It's all happening again."
When the new earth colonists began to explore the underlayers of the land they found enough evidance to support the theory that an ancient civilization was destroyed by their planets volcano activity.
"But we have to find how and why." Aral said, "Its the place to start."
"Mike, can you bring up a scan of the core before the activity?" Mike nodded and tapped away, eventually bringing the data onto the screen.
"So everything seems fine..." Alex said his eyes running over the diagram. Aral nodded, agreeing.
"But whats that...." Alex pointed at the screen and his voice trailed off.

"It looks like some sort of power signature!"
Gibson frowned and went to look at the screen immediately.
"How is that possible?" Gibson said in wonder.
"Maybe there are people down there?" said Pasek.
At that moment, several of the glass windows of the laboratory exploded and several aliens jumped through. They fired phasers at the workers and at the away team.
Johnson immediately pulled a scientist down behind a console, narrowly saving him from an enemy weapons beam.
Gibson and Pasek were firing phasers at the aliens, they managed to stun several of them, but a group of them began carrying a scientist away. The abductors carried him behind some consoles so that they were out of phaser range of the away team.
Johnson moved forward, avoiding several enemy phaser beams.
"Alex, No!" Gibson cried, but Johnson wasn't listening. he could now see the group with the hostage scientist. Alex fired his phaser stunning three of the abductors. The remaining one fired his weapon at Johnson, but he managed to dodge the beam. Alex stunned him then took the scientist to his side and they ran back to the away team, ducking several of the enemies' weaponsfire.
Johnson was elated with his achievement. This was sure going to look good on his record and on his first mission too...that was when he felt the searing pain travel up his leg.
He cried out in pain as his leg buckled and he fell to the floor. He saw Gibson's face, stricken. Gibson made to come forward to grab Johnson, but he was subdued by enemy weaponsfire.
Alex felt several of the aliens seize him as he struggle to remain conscious.
The away team tried to prevent it, but there was nothing that they could do as the aliens carried Johnson away.

---------------------------------------------
Just then, the big screen on the wall flashed into life and a face appeared on it, towering over them all on the massive screen.
The away team immediately recognised him as being of the race that had just moments ago carried Johnson away. His face was contorted with anger an malevolance.
"I am 1st Raetor Falmar Elek of the Parnaiian Order. You might know us as the original inhabitants of this planet who's ruins you have doubtless discovered. It seems that you believed us dead, this is not so." he said curtly.
Pasek came forward and asked him, "How can you live down there? Why did you leave the surface?"
Elek seemed to be annoyed by this and he went on in his curt and business-like tone, "All irrelevant, what matters is that your people have infested our planet. Your prescence is neither requested our required."
"Why have you taken our crewman?" Gibson demanded angrily.
"Well, you see we could destroy all life on this planet with our volcanoes, but that would make the surface undesirable for several years, so you have 2 of your days to remove the population or your crewman will be eliminated and all life on this planet will be destroyed."
"How do we know you haven't already killed him?" Gibson said.
The camera panned to show Johnson, his arms and legs bound, struggling against two guards. One of the guards poked Alexander with something that resembled a Klingon Pain Stick. The stick lit up as it touched Johnson's body and his face contorted in pain.
"As you can see, your crewmember is alive, for now. Two days." And with that, the screen went blank.

Max was roaming around Engineering. There wasn't much more he could do. Just routine maintaince. He decided that some of his engineers needed moral boosting as there wasn't much they could do. He decided a BBQ would be in order. "Crewman Jones, Johnson, Jefferson, Jordan and...Ming." Max called in engineering. "Meeting over here, now please" The 5...thats right 5 crewmembers went over to where Mr Power was standing. Max "Do you know why you are called here?" Ming "Cause our last names starts with J but you wanted to throw me in for a bit of inconsitance?" Max "Correct. Dismissed." The crewmembers started to walk off till Max called them back. Max "No! Thats how i picked you guys! Um...im having a BBQ at my quarters..in like 15 minutes...wanner come over?" Crewmembers "Um...ok" Max and the crewmemebers headed off to Max's place for the BBQ. OOC: Yeah, im creating a subplot for Max till he is required.

~~ First officer Log Cmdr ‘Matthew pace around the Main bridge with his hands behind him not use to being left on the sideline Doing a Important mission Doing most of his career but Its commodore Loskene Call so he just will have to live with it “ Cmdr’ Matthew watched as Commodore’ Loskene walked off the bridge towards his ready room effectively leaving him in command of The bridge .
Cmdr ’Matthew walked over to the science console Looking over the shoulder of the Science officer nodding to him self . "Excellent," he responded. "Inform RovaIII Control that we are beginning our mission. Helm, for the first 26 hour period, I want a variable orbital pattern that will take us over every Area of this Planet . After that is accomplished, we will be taking more detailed volcanic activity scans of areas of interest," he said.
He then turned towards the Science station. "Have all sensors ready. Get as much detail as possible during this general scanning period and flag areas for more specific scans later." "Aye, sirs," rang out from those departments as the officers began their work.

Cmdr’ Matthew then tapped his comm. badge. "Cmdr Matthew to Ensign Power," he called out over the link. "Mister Power please keep a watch on the power grid. We don't need any fluctuations that might give us false readings." The young Engineer was quick to respond. "Understood, Commander," came the reply. "I don't for see any problems. Engineering out."
Nodding to himself, satisfied that the mission was getting underway properly, James leaned back in his seat and watched as the view on the main view screen switched angles from focusing on the orbital verdant planet below.
He pulled up the monitor beside him and began watching with interest as the reading started coming through.

Falmar Elek: This is the one known as Commodore Loskene I presume?
Loskene: Where are my officers?
Elek: Patience. I will tell you all you need to know... In good time.
Loskene: What do you want?
Elek: To reiterate, we want ALL invaders off of our planet or we will kill them all.
Loskene: An odd request... The Federation colony has been here for over 30 years....and all of a sudden you want us off?
The aliens angry leer turned into a devilish grin and he sat down in a chair.
Elek: A perfectly reasonable question. As you may or may not know, these eruptions are not exactly natural. Seveal thousand years ago, their were two continents on this planet. Two bands at war with each other for centuries. My race, or what's left of it, survived by destroying our enemy. We were able to drill deep into the earth, setting off volatile seismic disruptions into the mantle. Those disruptions vibrated the mantle and shook the core, thus disturbing the cores revolution. It was glorious. The enemies territory began to fall one by one, until whole areas vaporized. Unfortunately, due to our lack of knowledge, we accidentaly triggered a cascade, a chain reaction which upset the balance of this planet. Every volcano soon erupted.
Loskene: So you are doing--
Elek: Silence!! We soon realized that the only way to survive was to head underground...We entered a cryogenic stasis, determined to awake in the future to once again rule over our lush planet. But when we awoke, it was festering with a new plague, a new enemy. It is our time now, and you have no choice but to leave. We do not tolerate an invasion. I am giving you 24 hours to evacuate EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE.
Loskene: My ship cannot hold that many people. I would need to summon a fleet of colony ships to get everyone off. They won't make it in time!
Elek: Then just hope they reach it here in time. By the way, as promised...Your crew members are on the surface, being held by my men. I have one of your officers with me, as a liability.
Loskene: ...Since we will be leaving, you have no further use for them.
Elek: I agree. I will let your men go. But the one with me stays.
Loskene: What? Why?
Elek: A penance must be exacted for your crime. It will take a very long time to clean up the mess you made. Do not worry, we will keep him alive, but he will not leave.
Joni Kel: Commodore...
Loskene signaled Commander Matthew to mute the channel.
Loskene: What is it Jo- Ensign.
Kel: Either way we play this we lose... It's all just one big game to him. I believe that either way, he will kill everyone.
Loskene thought for a minute and began to talk again.
Loskene: Elek, you damn fool....We agree to your terms! Be thankful that we are not sitting in the same room.
Elek said nothing and cut off the channel.
James Matthew: Sir...what about Mr. Johnson? You don't intend to abandon him do you?
Loskene: No, I don't. As far as we know, they will not harm Johnson. Therefore, our first priority will be to try to get everyone off the surface in less than 24 hours. After that is completed, we will devise a rescue plan. I will contact Starfleet immediately.

Max was in the middle of his cook up when Commander Matthews intruppted him. "Crewman Ming, watch the power grid for me from engineering. I will leave it on here, as i cook."
Ming "But...i love steak!"
Max "Don't worry...it won't be wasted."
Ming left, leaving the 4 J's and Max to dinner.
After a bit more cooking, and a few cold ones, Max decided that it was ready.
Max "Dig in guys"
They sat around the big table, digging into the steaks. As far as Max could see, the power grid was fine. he sat down, downing the first steak in 3 minutes flat.
Johnson "Wow! your quick"
Max "Yep. I won numerous food eating competitions back on Earth. I am the Sol system official representive...till i joined Starfleet, then they kicked me out."
Jefferson "Cause u joined Starfleet?"
Max "No...cause i left."
Jones "so they didn't kick you out?"
Max "Who said they did?"
The crewman looked confused as the contuined their meal.

OFF: School hates me…
ON: Joni sighed, sinking back into her chair. With bated breath she had listened to the conversation between the commodore and Elek. Now she was just thinking. That he would kill anyone left on the planet was of course a logical step. Well, in a warped mind like his…
But an important lesson in her psychology degree had been that no one is ‘just crazy’. Everyone has a reason to act the way they do. And as far as reasons go… his one was a good one. Not good enough to kill this many people, but good enough to act unreasonable.
“What do you think of him?” She eventually asked the commodore. It took moment’s thought for the man to answer.
“I think that he is unstable. To say the least.”
“I agree…” She answered. “Maybe you can keep him talking next time you speak to him. Find a weakness to buy time. I don’t think he is insane. From what I can gather he is a very intelligent man. The worst thing you can do now is underestimate him.”
“I’m not bloody underestimating him! I know full well he’ll go forth with his threat!” The commodore answered, hitting the armrest with restrained anger.
“I didn’t say you were.” She said gentile, calming. “I just said to be careful. I wouldn’t be surprised if he has more up his sleeve. I’m not saying he was lying… I just think he’s holding something back.” She added.

(Loskene ready room)
Loskene> after a long subspace meeting with Starfleet command Commodore Loskene was to hype up to Just go to sleep so he Decided to take a Walking around the ship as he often did when he had a lot on his mind and could not sleep he found his way to Deck 9 where he entered Main sickbay to have a Quick look around and it was all quiet, at this time the night Duty shift was on and there where some Civilian from Rova III who'd been injured and transported on board the Jefferson they were sleeping.
Thankfully there wasn't many of them left ,in need of Medical Attention the Junior Medical Officer was a superb Doctor he had a way with his patients and he got everyone healed up fairly quickly Dr. Daya and the Jefferson was lucky to have him on board.
Loskene’’ decided to write up a letter of commendation later for his permanent record once he got back to his Quarters .
Thinking About the Major Task he had in front of him made him doubt if he could pull this operation off “ but he would just have to deal with that for now he had a young officer being held“ Don’t on The Planet and a planet to evacuate in Less then 24 hours Starfleet has dispatched a Armada of large transport and starship ship to help but with the planet Evaluations But will it be enough time once they Arrive he thought to him self it had to be there was to many lives on the line for it not too.
( Commodore Loskene Ready Room ) Before calling it a night Loskene Check his operational status Reports good I see Six large Federation transport ships was due to arrive in the morning and start taking on its Human cargo Loskene pressed the Comm. panel and the unit closed. He then turned out the light and went to sleep. . Cmdr Matthew> was also burning the midnight oil as the ship xo he had a lot to get done before morning it was at this time his back Ground in fleet operations would come in hand moving Large Amount of people and Cargo was something he did well Doing his Time as a star Base operations officer ‘
He had to draw up a operational plans for a whole fleet so Drawing up a Plan for the Evacuations of the Planet As ordered By commodore Loskene should be not be that hard he hope "Computer transmit these Operational Schedules to the Arriving civilian transports ships and federation starships using a secure frequency." “Computer "Messages Sent Cmdr ." James sighed and got up. Heading to the replicator where he got a meal and a drink. He ate in silence at his desk whilst going through his database and organizing things to do tomorrow.
James would have a short Meeting with the officers that will be down on the Planet Making sure that the Civilian get on to the Transport ships safe and sound now let me get a little Sleep before morning and my meeting with the commodore at 0730 hours.

Commodore Loskene was standing up in the conference lounge, gazing out the large window. Commander Matthew entered the room and waited for Loskene to turn around.
Loskene: Commander.
Matthew: Good morning sir. What is it you want to talk about?
Loskene: In less than 12 hours everyone on the planet...well at least on the surface, will be dead. Starfleet has sent several modified colony ships to rescue all Federation citizens. But there is one problem. The Convoy will arrive in about 10 hours. I am not sure two hours will be enough to get everyone off in time.
Matthew: I understand.
Loskene: When the convoys arrive, I want you to work with Mr. Power and figure out a way to get everyone off. There must be a way to do a rapid transport without signifigant power drainage.
Matthew: I'm confident in mine and Mr. Power's abilities sir. And you will be on the bridge overseeing this?
Loskene: No, I will be heading to the surface with Ensign Kel. There, we will meet up with Lieutenant Daya. We will head into the underground caverns and rescue Mr. Johnson and whoever else is down there.
Matthew: Sir... I think this kind of job would be much more suitable-
Loskene: Yes I know what you will say. However, I am formulating a plan that only I can execute.
Matthew: Something to do with your 8472 abilities?
Loskene: That is correct. With any luck, I'll be able to nuetralize whatever scheme they are planning.
Matthew: Well, I can see there is no way to convince you sir...
Loskene: You have the ship, Commander. Please convene with Ensign Power.
Matthew: Yes sir, I promise that we will find a way.
Loskene: Very good.
Loskene tapped his communicator.
=^=Ensign Kel, please meet me in Transporter room 2.=^=

“Yes Commodore, on my way.”
Joni nearly ran out of her office, pulling on her jacket and closing it fast. She was curious as to why the commodore had called for her to come to the transport room, but questioning nothing. When she neared the transport room she slowed down, not wanting to look flushed or be out of breath. She straightened her clothes and enter. Loskene was waiting for her.
“Commodore?” She asked. “What can I do for you?”

Mr Power was contacted by Mr Matthews.
"Wow! real work!" he thought to himself. First stop: Holodeck.
There, he arrived with a crew of engineers. He had all ready produced an idea in his head.
Max "All right. See how those emitters produce light particles? Maybe, some how, we can turn them to emit molicules, like a transporter. You guys with me?"
Crewman 1 "Um..how?"
Max "I don't know. Maybe when we beam them to the ship, and they get stored in the buffers, we could divert some to the holodeck, creating the ability to beam more up at once...all we have to do is expand the buffer relays to cope with the extra amount. Then there is the problem with power supply. If, we were able to do that, then we should be able to beam up...well, our usual rate twice over. That means we can transport twice as much as once. Now, i know it seems difficult, and whats going to happen is the first few will beam over fine, la de da, then the buffers will start over loading but somehow we will compensate, then they will transport more over, but then the volcanoes will start and we are going to be unsure whether we can save the last remaining few, but we do with like ten seconds to go with over acting and extreme special effects. Any questions?"
Crewmen 2 "Are you serious?"
Max "Up to the point where our rate will be twice over. The rest i've just seen at the movies. Im going to explain the idea to Commander Matthews, you guys start solving the emmiters problem so it emits humans, not light. I will assign Beta squadron to the buffer relays to boost capacity, and Zeta Squadron engineering team to the power slupply."
Crewmen 1 "You mean, Engineer team 1,2 and 3 right?"
Max "Yes. I just wanted to sound cool."
Crewmen 2 "Well...the emitters seem cool enough."
Max stares at him blankly before heading off to the bridge.
Max "Commander Matthews, Sir." Max said as he entered the bridge.
Matthews "Yes Ensign?"
Max "I have come up with a new way to cook steak."
The commander look annoyed with the Ensign.
Matthews "IS that all you are here for? Stop wasting my time!"
Max "No...read my report. I came up with a way to enhance the transporters...we haven't solved the emitter problem...nor the transport buffers...in fact we dont know where we are going to get the extra power from. Hmm, not a pleasing report, but its going to work."
Matthews stared at him as Max awaited his reply.
