The Raven was making repairs, the hull was in a bad state, Weill was looking over the Tactical panel and than he got a voice come through
Dixon: " Dixon to Raven, repeat, Dixon to Raven"
Weill: " Yes Mr Dixon what can i do for you"
Dixon: " We are wondering when we can come up"
Weill: " Well transporters will be back up to 100% and we can bring you up, can you inform the Admiral"
Dixon: " I will when we can find him"
The comm channel closed and Weill was thinking, everything had gone quiet, and through all this he wondered what the indigeneous population were like, had they been effected in a heavy way, he was going to ask the Federation Counsel to consider sending a relief team.

Alex closed the channel to Captain Weill and sighed. That figures. He had spent almost twenty minutes trying to get through to the Raven using his comm badge while gathering communications equipment to try to follow Commander Johnson's order to get the wounded up to the Raven. Just as he was getting ready to give up and start building a more powerful transmitter, the Captain had responded.
He was now sitting in the middle of 10 kilograms of equipment that he had to put away so that it could be beamed back up, and then look for the Admiral.
Alex glanced up at the sound of voices. Two ensigns were standing and chatting about the battle that they had just been in. Alex's...oops...Lt. Dixon's, Alex thought to himself...raised his eyebrows and smiled slightly.
"Gentlemen," he said. The two ensigns looked over. "I need to find Admiral Clark, do either of you know where he is?"
"I believe that he's towards those ruins there, sir" one of the ensigns said, gesturing off to the left.
"Thank you. Could the two of you replace this equipment in it's containers for transport back to the Raven?" Alex asked. The two ensigns probably wanted to continue chatting, but an order was an order. The two walked over and Alex left to find the Admiral.

Transporter Chief: " Just beamed aboard some of the away teams supplies sir"
Weill: " Thankyou Chief, and the Admiral?"
Transporter Chief: " Not yet sir, i believe they are still looking for him"
Weill: " Ok"
Weill had thought that he may have let the Admiral take to much of a risk but he had followed regulations and he did have a support team, a huge guard, the Raven was patchinh up nicely, when Weill was told there was a hail to him from Star Fleet Command
Weill: " I'll Take it in my ready room"
He walked in and turned on the screen, the face of a Senior Admiral appeared, it couldnt be but it was, the Chief of Starfleet Operations
Weill: " Admiral?"
Admiral: " IU know it may be a shock to see me, but Captain i have some news which i thought you should hear from me.............. it has been decided that the US Raven should be decommisoned"
Weill: " Admiral, she is a fine ship, she runs as well as she did 10 years ago, come to tha 20 years ago"
Admiral: " Well we have a new batch of sovereigns which have maor structeral upgrades, but dont worry, the Raven will not be melted down............... she is to go in the Starfleet museam, alongside such vessels as Voayger, Enteprise and now Raven........... she has had a distinguised record and a fine group of Captains including my old friend Admiral Clark, back from the days when i was a Captain......... send him my regards by the way"
Weill: " I will, so what will happen to the Ravens crew?"
Admiral: " We have a new ship out of dock and she may not be as big but she has some excellent and modern upgardes, i think your senior team will fit in, i will not give away the suprise just yet, but you will see when you come back to starbase Bellicose, and more than that, in honour of the fine service of the Raven and her crew, it has been decided with approval from the Federation President herself, that the new vessel should be USS Raven A.
Weill: " A great honour Admiral, thankyou for taking the trouble to tell me personally"
Admiral: " Theres no trouble, i wish you and your crew well"
The screen closed and Weill felt shock, he hadnt been on the vessel long and it was already being replaced, but in historic terms she had been a round 30 years, she was one of the first along with the Sovereign and the Enterprise

Alex quickly tracked down Barbara Johnson. "Excuse me doctor" he said. Dr. Johnson looked up from the marine that she was tending with Lt. Stephens. "I was just in contact with Captain Weill. They are ready to start beaming us up."
"That's excellent Alex" she said. She turned to the lieutenant beside her. "Please start helping me prepare the wounded for transport."
Stephens nodded and Alex turned started walking towards the ruins where the Admiral was supposed to be. It was about 5 minutes before he heard voices issuing from a small, ruined shack. Alex walked up and took a look inside. He could see Lt. Commander Burgess and Admiral Clark issuing orders to a group of engineers. Alex squinted with curiousity. What was going on now?
"There is a bomb in the area, get it defused and recover the computer core as quickly as you can, then get it beamed up to the Raven. As soon as that's done, we can get out of here" Burgess was saying. The Admiral was standing beside him and looked over.
"Mr. Dixon, what are you doing over here?" he asked.
"I was just in contact with the Raven. They are ready to transport us back. Dr. Johnson is preparing the wounded for transport."Alex reported.
"Well, we aren't ready to leave the planet yet. We are trying to recover a computer core left behind by the Romulan forces. Care to lend a hand?" the Admiral asked.
"Of course sir, what do you need me to do?" Alex replied.

"Bridge to sickbay. We just recieved word that Doctor Johnson is on his way with wounded. Be ready when he arrives," Captain Weill ordered over the intercomm. Good now I can work with a real person instead of an EMH Isildur thought to himself as he recalled several holographic instructors back at Harvard. Most of the people in his class knew he hated holograms. He looked at a clock and realised he was late for an appiontment. It will have to wait he thought as soon as he relised the wounded need his efforts more than his patient.

The transporters fizzled and Weill carried a strecher off of the transporter padd, there was a person with a broken leg so Weill and and Ensign carried him to Sickbay, they got in and their were many casualties, he wasnt entirly sure what to do so he walked out and thought he would go back later when the Medical staff had some time.
Weill: " Weill to Dixon, report"
Dixon: " Sir we are going to be ready to come up soon but we have got to get something before we can leave, i will not discuss it over insecure communications"
Weill: " Very wise, i ask you to get finshed ASAP, as we have somewhere to go after this but also we need to get the whole contigent off the suface"
Dixon: " Aye sir, we will do our best"
Weill than checked up on the repair teams, he was a little worried as he was thinking about the wrong this, not the finsihing of the mission, though he had got the entire ship poised for action but he was wondering what he was going to say to the crew about their being transferred.

Alex examined the tricorder readout of the Romulan data core as Admiral Clark and Commander Burgess waited. "I don't like the way this data link is done, Admiral. It looks like a very last minute job, but there's something different about it. This looks like a standard protocol to set off the bomb, but the data link is hidden behind the data array. I think that it's some kind of a wipe command or something that will go off if the bomb doesn't."
Admiral Clark nodded. "That sounds like the Romulans. What do you think will set off the wipe?"
Alex shrugged. "Could be anything. Proximity to humans, detection of a transporter beam, failure to enter the right code. There's no way to tell. I'd have to attach it to a computer to find out, and that would definitely set it off. However, if we can get the data link off, I would suggest that we just transport the data core to the Raven and let the transporter deactivate the explosives while they're in the pattern buffer."
"Yes" said Commander Burgess. "That would work, but we have to get the data link off quickly. We can't stay here much longer. Admiral, send in the engineers to remove the data link, then we'll beam the core up."
The Admiral thought for a minute then nodded reluctantly. Burgess started issuing orders to the men behind him. Quickly, several engineers were sent towards the data core. After about 10 minutes, there was a call to Burgess. "Data link removed sir!"
Burgess straightend "Excellent. Activate the pattern enhancers and standby. Raven, lock onto the data core and beam it to Cargo Bay 4 and deactivate any explosive materials while it is in the beam. Send Security to Cargo Bay 4. Burgess out." They all waited.
"Transport complete, sir" the transporter chief called.
Admiral Burgess smiled. "Commander, Lieutenant, start beaming everyone up..."

Isildur was now busier than ever. He felt the emotions of all the worried crew who were wounded. He also felt the worried state of each doctor and nurse. Weill entered sickbay and approached Johnson. "Report Mr Johnson," Weill said in an official voice. "We are doing good. Lite causilties but we have patched most of the wounded up," Johnson replied as he wiped off his brow. Weill nodded and asked Isildur to head for the bridge. The young andalite followed his CO dutifully. Isildur stopped as he read a thought from Weill that the Captain was upset about. "What is wrong Captain?" Islidur asked as they entered the turbolift. "Nothing is wrong ensign," Weill replied. Isildur smiled at the reply. "I can sense your thoughts sir. Something is bothering you I can tell," Isildur said in an ammused tone as he waited for his CO to confide in him.

*jessica briefly noticed cmdr dixon looking over in her direction as she was helping Dr Johnson with the wounded and wondered why he was looking over in their direction she shrugged it off and continued on to helping get the wounded ready for transport, she hadn't expected this sort of mission but none the less it was her duty to help out whereever she was needed so she did so without question* ((OoC: just small post to let the crew of the raven know i haven't forgotten about them sorry haven't been very active past couple weeks have been rather busy )

Alex opened his eyes as the sound of the transporter faded away. He could see the interior of the Raven at last. It seemed like it had been ages.
Bending over, Alex took the handles of Private Cetla's stretcher and helped the Ensign on the other end carry it off the transporter pad. Isildur was standing in the transporter room and ran a tricorder quickly over Cetla and Alex. "Get this man to Sickbay immediately" she said to two waiting med techs, gesturing at Cetla. "And make sure Mr. Dixon gets there as well" she ordered, then turned to the next patient as he materialized. Nothing like a warm welcome home, Alex thought to himself.
Alex accompanied Private Cetla to Sickbay and was ushered to a biobed by a medic. Alex could see that Private Cetla was immediately taken to an operating theatre. Alex hoped that he would be alright. Then he was distracted as a Bajoran female bustled up to him and started tending his injuries.

Weill heard that the teams were aboard, he walked down to sickbay as he needed a quick status report, though, he could not find the Admiral, he went to the one person who he could find and who was in a fit state to talk.
Weill: " Lt Commander Dixon, first congratulations, but get your head attended to first"
An nurse looked up and said she was done she walked away and Dixon stood up
Dixon: " We got the mission done, but the casualties have not been to good, the Admiral is getting tended to and we should be ready to debrief soon"
Weill: " Good good, well done i have heard good things, whispers in corners etc, you are a far cry from that officer who first came aboard"
Dixon: " A little battle worn sir, does it stay feeling like this"
Weill: " No matter how many times you go into battle you always come out like this, if you dont, than you will know something is wrong, now rest, go and get refreshed, watch out though the ship, is in a bad way but we will be back to top condition soon, though we have got a suprise when we get back, i will ifnorm all at the debrief"
Dixon: " Yes sir, i feel like having a long while in the sonic shower"
Weill walked out and he saw the ship taking shape

Alex was a little wobbly on his feet, but didn't let it show as Captain Weill turned and left Sickbay after Alex gave his report regarding the events on the planet. He had been well treated by the medical staff and felt that he could leave sickbay.
Alex made his way to his quarters and sat down for a fast rest before hopping into the shower. He felt a lot better after he got out.
Alex donned a clean uniform (making sure that his shiny new rank pip was in plain view) and spent a second admiring his Medal of Honor which he had placed in his display case. That made two decorations now. He had come pretty far, pretty fast.
No time to think about that though. Alex tapped his comm badge and place calls to his section heads, saying that he wanted a staff meeting in an hour. He received acknowledgments and spent the next 45 minutes reviewing logs from what had happened while he was on the planet. He was particularly impressed with Lts. JG Quarel and Collaan, who had stepped up and done an excellent job of maintaining the science department in his abscence.
It was finally time, and Alex left to get an update of what was going on in the Science Departments.

All the teams were aboard and the sick were healed or stiull in sickbay anf the Admiral called a meeting in the observation lounge, Though he called for Weil to meet first.
Clark: " Captain, i hear the Raven is going to be decommisioned"
Weill: " Sadly yes Admiral, but it is going to be put in the museam rather than scrapped, as it has done its term and they feel they that after the war many years as it is, they now have the reources to upgrade freely"
Clark: " They should have, can i ask a favourCan i be here when you deal the decommision ceremony"
Weill: "Of course Admiral and may i ask in return that you christian the Raven A"
Clark: " Of course, it would be an honour, "
Cre started coming in and Weill moved his seat back to where it should have been, he felt odd, he had automatically let the Admial sit at the end, protocal he guessed or just curtosey. Dixon went in and sat opposite Commander Majeski, who Weill felt very odd about as he hadnt been around, howevere he had been on the mission.
Weill: " So you feeling better Mr Dixon, syand to attntion when i'm talking to you"
Weill got up and walked around the table
Weill: " About turn"
Dixon faced him looked slightly worried
While taking a half dakened pin out of his pocket and clipping it to Dixons collar
Weill: " Lt Dixon i officially promote you to the rank of Lt Commander with all rank and priverlages there to, may one day i pin the full pip on"
Dixon: " Thankyou sir"
The observaton room fills with the sound of clapping,
They sit back down and Dixon looking cheerful sits back relaxing again.

Alex sat in his chair in the briefing room and stared in a mildly irritated fashion at Lts. Quarel and Collaan. He had been on his way to his Science staff meeting when he had been unexpectedly contacted by Captain Weill, who asked him to come to a mission briefing session in the conference room. He had acknowledged and then contacted his assistant, Lt. Quarel and told him to conduct the staff meeting until he could get there. Quarel had agreed, but almost sounded like he was laughing over the comm.
When Alex arrived at the conference room and received his pip, Lt. Quarel and Collaan were already there, and had obviously known what was going on. My staff is keeping secrets from me, Alex thought to himself as he stared at his two subordinates. They smirked back at him, obviously enjoying the joke. Alex smiled and shrugged. It was pretty funny.
Admiral Clark stood up. "Yes, excellent work Commander. You have come a long way in a remarkably short time. I have the feeling that you will go far in Starfleet."
The Admiral continued. "And excellent work was also done by everyone who beamed down to the planet. We have accomplished our mission. We have also may have gained some valuable information regarding the Romulans. However, that information is not for everyone. We have gained a Romulan data core, but I would have to order that it be placed under guard in Cargo Bay 4, and only myself or Commander Burgess be allowed access to it."
Alex raised his eyebrows a little at that. He had been expecting that Science would be allowed a crack at the data core. Looking over, Alex saw that Captain Weill looked a little surprised as well.
"And now I will hand the meeting over to Captain Weill. Captain?"
Clark sat down and Captain Weill stood to speak. "Thank you Admiral. Yes, good job on the planet everyone. As soon as the ship is ready, we are returning to Starbase Bellicose. Unfortunately, this will be the last cruise of the USS Raven. Starfleet has informed me that this ship is to be decommissioned."
Concerted gasps went around the table, and Alexs' was one of them. This was the last thing he expected. He exchanged a wide eyed look with Quarel and Collaan.
Weill sighed. "Yes, it's unfortunate. I have tried to convince Starfleet that she still has some years left in her, but they have made up their minds. We have a new ship ready for us."
Weill paused for a minute to let the news sink in. Finally he said "We will be leaving orbit as soon as possible. That is all for now. Dismissed."
Alex stood up. Quarel and Collaan still seemed to be in shock. He collected them and got them out the door so that they could all go to the Science staff meeting.

Isildur was happy when he heard about Dixon's promotion. He was also in shock when Weill told him about the retiring of the Raven. As he sat in his quarters he felt sad that a ship he barely knew was soon going to be on diplay. Isildur stood and started to rebook appointments that he had to cancel because of the mission.

The Raven went though space, she was getting repaired, she got close to starbase Bellicose, the viewscreen focused on the huge station, Weill was sitting and Admiral Clarks face was transfixed on the viewscreen.
Weill: " Makes the poor old Raven look minute Admiral"
Clark: " It does indeed, but there is nothing like being at the command seat of a starship"
Weill: " Well sir, i am sorry i havnt been able to command this ship for a longer time period, but at least she is going to such a famour place as the Starfleet museam"
Clark: " No less than she deserves, but than she was an older vessel eve when i got her, perhaps they should replace them"
The CONN said that they were getting close to the station and were ready to dock, the Raven A hadnt yet arrived but would soon.
Weill moved around and got up and saw the Admirals face as he looked at the station and the bridge seat,
Weill: " Admiral, would you pilot her in, i have to check something"
Clark: " Of course Captain"
Weill moved around to the tactical console and looked at it, Clark looked happier than ever ordering the ship in and he sat in the centre seat and cheered up.
The ship docked and the crew lookeda round
Weill: " Please prepare to move you things to another vessel, pack up etc , but also go and get some rest on the station.
Dixon was planning to go to the bar with some of the staff and play some games and have a drink, maybe the holdodeck, and Weill thought he may also.............
