After Magellan departed his office, Felix was about to contact security and have him arrested for interfering with a JAG investigation, when he calmed down and realized that there was something wrong with the Admiral. When Felix served with the Admiral on the Victory he was a calm man, never raised his voice over anything, it was not possible for something like this to throw such a man completely of balance. Something else was wrong and he knew just the place he could get some answers. But before he could go anywhere Joann stormed his office.
"Are you insane what did you send me without an escort to interview a dangerous suspect, I just had two of his gorillas throw me out of the holodeck claiming it was a restricted are despite me having the security clearance to access all Starfleet areas and beside the point that the holodeck was on the entertainment level and not at all on a Starfleet restricted area", she shouted at him
"I know, I am sorry Joann, I had no idea the Admiral was ill, he is usually not like this, I do not know what is wrong with him, but I will find out", he said
"Now, why don't you contact Cmdr. Sarkonis and have him contact Mr. Venneti and have the security keep an eye on Lin, I am afraid he might do something irrational in his current state, and that would make his case even more difficult. He does not understand I am trying to clear him of the charges but he is not making my job any easier and if he goes on doing something crazy I'll have no choice but to execute the order for his arrest and have him charged with all the crimes that took place on the base", he said to her
"Ok", she said, "But I am not going anywhere near that Trill without a heavily armed escort", she said as Felix got up from his chair and left his office
When they asked him to run this investigation, no one said it would be this difficult. He only hoped the CMO of the base would be in a better mood then the rest of these people. They were all acting crazy. But he could feel he was getting closer to the truth by the minute. As he strolled through the base he ran into several familiar faces and took a few minutes to chat with them and see if they noticed anything unusual around the Admiral.
After a longer walk he finally arrived in sickbay. He looked around and finally noticed Dr. Mercy and Healer T'Val.
"Doctor, Healer", he called out to them as he went to meet them
<Tag Mercy, T'Val>
"I need your help", he said, "Have you examined Admiral Lin recently?", Felix asked
<Tag Mercy, T'Val>
"Well I believe you should examine him as soon as possible... something is wrong with him. He is acting irrational, is not thinking straight, he is yelling at people for no reason and do not tell me it is stress, because I know the admiral and he was under even more stress than he is now and this never happened before", he said looking at the two medical officers in front of him

--- on the Planet ---
Ji’Zhan left the Council floor and had spent a whole day in meditation to reflect on his time on Earth and the past few days back at the station and on the planet. He had thought that he would have heard from Admiral Lin by now, but he must be busy with the elections and this JAG investigation. Finished with his meditations he departed the inner chapel and headed for his office. Passing the daily market he felt home again, hearing the noise of the merchants selling and the older Debrune women arguing about prices. A smile drifted across his face, ‘it all takes me back to simpler days’, he said. Wondering then about his old friends he called his office and said that he would be late. His guards faces were disappointed, they hated it with Ji’Zhan chased his thoughts with no regard to security.
“Ah, don’t worry… no one will know where I’m going… I don’t.” Ji’zhan responded to their expressions.
Entering an old establishment that had seen its better days, Ji’zhan saw a very familiar figure propping against the end of the table. He slowly walked towards him, “Hello my friend.”
“humpf, the last friend that I had that sound like you is now too high to visit a place such as this.” The dark figure stated.
“No, just busy with keeping a place for you to live old man” Ji’Zhan stated back.
Coming into the light Ji’Zhan saw an older face with familiar eyes that said, “Ji’Zhan, or is it Elder… who knows what to call you these days?”
“Friend is fine”, Ji’Zhan hopefully said back.
“If you looking the old group, then you’re late; after the elections ‘our’ friendly group no longer saw each other. I guess we were all split as to who should be Elder.”
Ji’Zhan responded, “Everyone has their vote, and we all should vote as our minds tell us to.”
“Go,” the man said slipping back into the darkness, “Go, your friendship isn’t needed here anymore.”
“I will go,” Ji’Zhan stated, “only after you tell me where the others are.”
Coughing the figure said, “half of them are no longer on this world… left when you became Elder… but you know that you sent them away.”
“I did no such thing!!!” Ji’Zhan snarled back.
“Then who would round up a group of our former friends and over night get send them away and their families and seize their assists?” The man said standing back in the light, his eyes narrowed in disgust.
“Not me,” Ji’Zhan said with a worried look, “not me”. Ji’Zhan said on the chair next to him and placed his hands on his head. The two sat for an hour talking about the information just learned by Ji’Zhan. Standing sharply, Ji’Zhan headed to his office to find out just who was behind the finical seizing of assists… maybe he would find a name… or a place he could search for his friends.

The Romulan sighed in frustration as he watched the Trill admiral disappear. "This is just great," he scowled, glancing directly at Ezdreiana. "Not only is one of the Federation's most senior ambassadors being abducted, but the most reserved admiral just lost his temper. I wonder how much worse this can get."
Then his son's usual nanny came charging into the holodeck. Tedak was rather surprised to see the young Vulcan woman so flustered and upset. It was very unlike her to show any emotion at all. "Easy T'Shan," he told her, "what is wrong?"
"Rayna has just been arrested," T'Shan managed between gasps, "I do not know why, but I saw security lead her away from Ambassador Saarok's office just as I passed to check up on D'Beren."
"They what!" the Romulan roared in fury, "that's it, now he's gone too far. Harassing starfleet personnel and diplomats is one thing, but civillians? What's next, harassment of the people on Qualinost?" He cast a furious glance at Ezdreiana. "Madam ambassador, please excuse me but I have a Romulan citizen to free from the brig. Do you wish to accompany me?"
(Ezdreiana)
Tedak charged out of the holodeck with T'Shan in tow, though she parted ways at the next junction of corridors to indeed go check up on the child. He wondered how exactly he was going to accomplish what he needed to, without risking arrest himself. Having a death threat issued by whomever abducted Saarok was bad enough. And already having discussed it while being told not to was even worse.
Finally the Romulan arrived at the holding cell area, where his entrance was instantly barred. "I am forbidden to grant you entrance ambassador," the guard spoke, surprisingly politely, "I am going to ask you to leave without making trouble."
Tedak raised his hands to show he had no interest in using violence or resistance and took a step back. "A Romulan woman was arrested," he explained, "as diplomat it is my job to visit anyone who may benefit from my presence as diplomat. As this woman is Romulan, I am the logical choice. It is her right, or have they been revoked as well as her freedom?"
The guard shook his head. "JAG orders sir," he replied, "especially diplomats are not to visit any prisoners taken during the investigation. The woman was stirring up trouble and preventing the captain from doing his work. I'm certain she'll be released soon enough, her superiors are being informed."
~superiors?~ Tedak thought, then grimaced. Her superiors were T'Val and Stuart Mercy, along with Rear Admiral Loskene. And he knew none of them would let this issue slide just like that. "Will doctors be barred from visiting her?" he querried, "the woman needs frequent medical attention due to severe injuries sustained in battle."
The guard nodded. "Yes I'm aware of that. Will you take my word that she has been treated with extreme care and has been made comfortable?"
"I will take your word," the Romulan agreed, "but this is not the last Captain Savali has heard of this." He turned on his heels and left the holding cell area to seek out Ezdreiana again. "Has he gone mad? He's now harassing civillians as well."

Stuart and T'Val had now become quite concerned over Rayna's prolonged absence.
"Lily, what is the location of Rayna?"
[shadow=purple,left,300]>/\< She has been detained in the brig for disorderly conduct and impeding an investigation. >/\<[/shadow]
Before Stuart could get past the shock of this revelation, someone called out for him.
"Doctor, Healer", he called out to them as he went to meet them
T'Val and Stuart turned their attentions from the shock of the announcement and of preparing sickbay for mass casualties to see who it was calling out for them. Stuart did not recognize the man and a quick questioning look at T'Val told him that she didn't either.
"I need your help", he said, "Have you examined Admiral Lin recently?", Felix asked
Giving the man the respect of his rank as a Captain, Stuart went ahead and answered him.
"As a matter of fact, sir, I was just on my way to see him. You see, he had taken a tumble earlier today, down on Qualinost. The medical facility there took care of him and cleared him for duty, but I was going to go ahead and give him a quick checkup anyways."
"Well I believe you should examine him as soon as possible... something is wrong with him. He is acting irrational, is not thinking straight, he is yelling at people for no reason and do not tell me it is stress, because I know the admiral and he was under even more stress than he is now and this never happened before", he said looking at the two medical officers in front of him
T'Val and Stuart gave each other that look again, before Stuart returned his questioning gaze back at the Captain infront of him.
Stuart motioned for the man to follow him to one side of the hall, where they had some semi-privacy.
"Uh, sir...who the HELL might you be ordering me to check up on the Admiral. I understand that you might be concerned for his health, but frankly as far as I'm concerned...his health is of no concern to you."
The Captain stood there for a moment taken aback and appeared quite dumbfounded, while Stuart could see T'Val slightly snickering in the background before she continued with her duties. Oh, how he loved those Vulcan ears of hers.
<Felix>
Stuart listened intently of this Captain's background with Admiral Lin. That would explain his concern as the discovery of their friendship had come to light. However, that was in the past.
"I understand your concern, Captain. If I may ask, under what circumstances did you observe the Admiral with these tirades that you so described?"
<Felix>
Now Stuart understood why security had become so tight. This was the man behind it all. Stuart thought for sure that maybe he needed a checkup, but he probably had orders as everyone else around here.
"Well that makes perfect sense, and I know that you said not to tell you that it's stress, but under the circumstances it just might be. However, if you will excuse me, I shall proceed to Ops and do a quick physical. Oh, one more thing...SIR...I understand that you have detained a frail, disabled, Romulan female that just so happens to be one of my best workers here. I can assure you that she is no threat to anyone and I would be much obliged if you could see it fit to release her. I need her here and will take full responsibility for her."
<Felix>
"Thank you! It is greatly appreciated."
With that, the two men parted their ways. Stuart walked back towards T'Val shaking his head.
"A bit presumptuous, that fellow, and he doesn't think he's causing ANY stress around here. You were right about the extra security."
"Yes, So I've heard.", she said with a smile and a wink.
Stuart was still amazed at her ears, they did come in handy he supposed.
"Remind me later to show you how special those ears are, along with the rest of you..." Stuart leaned in for a kiss, but T'Val stopped him short. "Provided you can get us family quarters while you're seeing the Admiral?"
Stuart gave a big grin and then quickly reached in for a peck. "Of course. I'm off!"
Stuart grabbed the nearest medkit, along with a tricorder and some isoboramine, just in case, and made his way up to Ops.
Once at Ops, Stuart could see how hectic things had become. there were extra security gurads everywhere. Stuart looked around, but couldn't see Admiral Lin anywhere. Zoilop noted what or who Stuart was looking for and indicated that the Admiral was in his office. Stuart rang the chime for his admittance. A forcefull "COME IN!" could be heard from the other side of the door. Stuart entered.
"I take it, sir, that this isn't a very good day."
"That is an understatement, Doctor Mercy."
"I guess starting it off with a 30 meter fall was just a precursor of things to come."
Stuart took the tricorder and prepared it for his scan when the Admiral was about to interject.
"Don't you think there would be a better time for this?"
"Frankly sir...NO! You have taken quite a fall this morning and it is my duty to ensure your fitness for duty, no matter the reports from another doctor, seeing as I am your personal physician. Also, concerns have been raised as to your behavior throughout this day, and if you are refusing this checkup I will have no other choice as to make sure that you are relieved of your duties due to medical reasons."
Admiral Lin pushed his chair back from his desk in utter disgust, but went ahead and allowed Stuart to proceed with the checkup. The tricorder revealed most parameters normal with the exception of isoboramine levels, they were low as expected.
"Admiral, I'll have to inject you with isoboramine. My concern is why your levels are dropping though. It seems that you are still having difficulty maintaining the proper levels. Do you have any idea what may be causing this, for I can't find anything by my scans?"

"Well Doctor, I used to serve under the Admiral on the Victory C, I was his chief of operations then. And we got along just fine, even were friends if I might say. Then when he made me acting co of the Victory our relationship got even better and when I was promoted to Captain we had absolutely no conflicts with each other. And he as never a man to loose his temper over anything, I am telling you something is wrong with him.", he said
"The admiral is upset with a large JAG investigation aided by FCIS that is being conducted on the station to shine some light on the recent assassinations, acts of piracy, abductions...", Felix said
"Well I have no intention for her to be in the brig any longer than an hour to help her cool down, she'll be released right away", he said
After departing from sickbay, Felix contacted the brig and told them to let Rayna go, all charges against her were dropped. Once that was done he decided to go back to his quarters to get some sleep and to spend some time with his daughter, as there was nothing more he could do right now.
--Meanwhile on the promenade--
Jason Kheleb was strolling down the promenade. He was smiling, he finally had a way to handle this job and put the blame on someone else. Finally he was able to do what he was ordered to do. Although he could've done it before too, even without an scapegoat, but this was better. But he had to act carefully now, he did not want to tip his hand too soon. He approached one of the public terminals mounted on the wall in a public comm. area. The base was under lockdown for the moment but that didn't bother him right now. If anything it even made things easier. He pulled out his tricoder and disabled the visual comm., and then he altered the set up of the terminal so it would be impossible to trace his location. Then he entered the name of the person he wanted to contact.
=/\=Mr. Ji'zhan=/\=, he called when the channel was open
<Tag Ji'zhan>
=/\=It is of no importance who this is, if you want to find what you are looking for, meet me in the Jeffries tube junction 45-a. And Mr. Ji'zhan, come alone. If I see anybody else i will not show up.=/\=, he said and cut the comm.

Voran tapped his combadge, "Voran to Logan, Jack the Galaxy is about to depart on a rescue mission. I know you haven't quite got all your marbles back yet, but I thought you might like to join us as an observer, if you're feeling up to it."
"On my way Captain." Came Logan's reply.
<Logan>
-------------------
As they entered the vicinity, Harris reported, "I'm picking up the vessel sir, its in a bad way, systems failures all across the board."
"Lifesigns?" Asked Voran.
"Several, but weak and life support is failing."
"Okay, Kyle, prepare to beam them aboard, security and medical teams to transporter room 1." Said Voran, "Mr Logan, Mr Morley, you're with me, Commander Tol, you have the bridge."
----------------------
As the three men entered the transporter room, Voran saw that the security teams, medical teams, and indeed, their Cardassian chief medical officer, Lieutenant Commander Prin, had already arrived.
"Energize." Ordered Voran.
Several aliens of different species materialized on the pad, some were conscious, some were not. Voran moved over to the nearest conscious man.
"I'm Captain Voran of the Federation Starship Galaxy. Who are you and what happened to you?"

The afternoon had come and Ji’Zhan hadn’t got any closer to finding out why his friends had been taken and their money frozen. The Banks had not recorded as much as one unit being withdrawn. All this seemed strange. He had set up a link to his office back on the base and was looking through some records when his system notified him of a snoop. He started a trace and log and kept working so the person or persons snooping wouldn’t let on. He noticed as he looked up names and records that every thing was being logged. He knew it had to be this JAG investigation but his system was programmed to not stop at one snoop but he noticed another. The second one was much more complex and didn’t have an originating location. Ji’Zhan knew that whoever programmed this second snoop was clever. To have a subprogram running without having a location in its authorization was impressive. Most Starfleet systems would instantly close a connection of that type. Ji’Zhan could see that the person or persons responsible already had one over on the base systems. He logged its actions.
Sitting alone in his office, after hours, he was surprised when he heard the comm system open;
=/\=Mr. Ji'zhan=/\=, a strange voice called when the channel was open
“This is Elder Ji’Zhan… who is asking?”
=/\=It is of no importance who this is, if you want to find what you are looking for, meet me in the Jeffries tube junction 45-a. And Mr. Ji'zhan, come alone. If I see anybody else i will not show up.=/\=, the voice said as the comm was cut.
Ji’Zhan knew that the second snoop was active and someone was watching it. ‘Was this Starfleet… or just who was that?’ Ji’Zhan thought.
Making his way to the shuttle bay through the special corridors set up just for the Elders, he entered his command code for access. Just then a guard spoke, “Elder, you know I can’t let you leave with out an escort.”
“I know,” Ji’Zhan said in return, “Go get a special three man team,” which was in fact code for the guard.
Ji’Zhan didn’t wait for the team to return and piloted himself to the base and got strange looks from the shuttle bay personnel when he arrived alone. He hoped that one of them would think that strange and notify security. He made his way to the lift and was thinking about how to find junction 45-a so long that the computer asked for the location. Ji’Zhan said, “Computer take to the nearest location to Jeffries tube junction 45-a”. The computer didn’t respond but the lift started. Lily knew that this was a strange request and noted it in her logs however due to her resent mistrust in the stations crew… notified no one.
Ji’Zhan walked down the corridor looking at the text on the tube access doors until he found the correct access. It was locked. He looked around for just a moment and took a small device from his garment’s sleeve and soon the access popped with a metal like sound and Ji’Zhan quickly entered and closed the access behind. Making his way to the next junction he noticed that it was not 45-a but simply marked 45. He was soon confirnmed in his ability to locate the correct place by a noise coming from the adjacent tube.

Jason was glad that Ji'zhan decided to do the smart thing and show up alone. Had he not done that... Jason would have to continue with plan B but this was so much better. As he approached the junction the lighting was decreased by 85% making it difficult for anyone in there to be able to see or recognize someone’s face. He intended to keep his identity a secret for as long as he could. But once the plan was in motion it would not matter anymore.
"Mr. Ji'zhan, stay right there", he said as he entered the junction
"I must warn you mister Ji'zhan, if you decide to proceed on what i tell you here and now, you will be putting your life at a great risk.", he said, "If you wish to proceed i will tell you what i know.", he said
<Tag Ji'zhan>
"It is your life you are risking Mr. Ji'zhan, therefore i will tell you. What you are looking for is not far from here. The people responsible hide behind a cover that no one would suspect. They are not what they appear to be, but no one can distinguish them from the rest who are really what they pretend to be. First they took what you are looking for and now they took the federation Ambassador, but they have gone too far this time. They bit of a bite too large. They are no longer protected by that which they still believe to be a part of.", Jason said, "Have you visited the entertainment section of this base recently? No, it doesn't matter. There are more than 31 people there today. What the federation ambassador once was, they used to be but still believe they are.", Jason said
Before Ji'zhan could respond, Jason dropped a strip of magnesium which caused a large flash. And by the time the effects of the flash faded away, he was gone and lightning returned to normal levels.

Ji’Zhan then heard a voice and turned in the direction it came, wanting to at least touch the person so he could ‘see’ his mind Ji’Zhan heard;
“I can tell by the way you call me ‘mister’ that you have no idea what office I hold. However, that doesn’t matter at this point. I can be very assiduous.” Ji’Zhan replied.
At that moment a large flash of brilliant white light filled the junction and Ji’Zhan covered his face. As fast as the light came the man was gone with the same swiftness. The lighting in the junction returned to normal and all Ji’Zhan saw was a long tube leading away from his location. Ji’Zhan then decided that he would then go to recreation deck and see if he could find this group of people.
Rounding the corner he entered a large area with more than 31 people he was thinking to himself. All the play on words Ji’Zhan knew it was some type of operative, some secret group that he was looking for. ‘So,’ Ji’Zhan thought, ‘were do you go to find a secretive group of people… in the most obvious place around.’ Before he walked any further he stepped quickly behind a support structure and contacted the stations computer.
“Lily, this is Elder Ji’Zhan”
"Elder, may I be of assistance?" she replied.
“Lily, I haven’t had the opportunity to talk with you, however I think that you should know that your systems are being monitored by a group whose identity is being kept from you. Not even the base officers know.”
"My systems are working normally Elder."
“That is what they want you to think Lily, you need to look for the obvious.” Ji’Zhan told the aware computer system. “Lily, I know that Lin is acting strangely, but the person that wants to purge you isn’t the body you see. As soon as you find the location of the sender in this logged session, notify Captian Felix Savali at once.”
Lily responded with simply a beep as someone was approaching Ji’Zhan location. Ji’Zhan quickly transmitted the logged information that he captured back in his Qualinost office with an encryption only Lily would ever know.
Ji’Zhan stepped from behind his hidden location and walked toward the flashiest establishment he could see.

“Theres nothing wrong with me” he snapped back, slowly he drew in a breath and felt Gethins calming influence flow from Lin. He looked at Stuart, “Okay I m a little more stressed than usual, but this is a stressful time.”
Stuart wasn’t convinced, “You normally handle stress better than this, and your isoboramine levels suggest that this is linked to your symbiont”
Loran resurfaced,
“Everythings always to do with Lin, when is it ever just me. I wish at times I’d never had taken that damn symbiont when Gethin died.”
“Didn’t you come after Toya?”
“That’s what” I said Magellan snapped back irritably, “And I tell you what I m not happy with the way Captain Savali went behind my back, did it not occur to you that he is trying to find a way to interfere in his investigation?”
“It crossed my mind, is there a reason Felix shouldn’t be investigating”
“Bah hes over stepping his bounds, the law is the law, Okay I bent it enough I know its what got me killed on Rutia…. But that’s not the point” he trailed off “Okay doctor thank you for your time, I m sure you have enough scans, let me know what you find. If I feel any worse I’ll be sure to call you”
“That’s it?” Dr Mercy requested,
“Well we are both very busy people and as I said if I feel any worse I’ll call, or let Captain Savali get there first”.
As Dr Mercy left he got barely down the corridor before Felix cut through on a comm. line,
=^=So did you see the Admiral?=^=

Maxon looked up one moment the last moments of life were ebbing from him and now he was here in the bright lights of a sterile starship. He blinked in the bright light and saw a number of humans before him.
Stumbling to his feet Maxon pushed forward,
“Oh thank you, I thought we were for the Great Forest then for sure. We were fleeing our col…..”
“Our collective shadows” Jolant intereceded casting a wary eye at first Voran and then Dr Prin.
“Whats going on” he asked, “You have a Cardassian on your crew, The Federation has invaded us?”
Voran shook his head, “Not quite, It’s a long story, you’ve obviously been out of the loop.”
He eyed the collection of 17 survivors. Maxon and three others were obviously Talaxian, there was a Viidian, the Cardassian, two Lissepians, 4 Bajorans, a Bolian and 4 Hirogen.
Maxon approached Voran,
“Is this it, Is this all who survived?”
Voran nodded his head,
“I’m sorry but these are the only life signs we registered.”
Maxon hung his head a tear crawling from his eye,
“We were 56 when we left our co…”
“Our last stop” Jolant said “I m sorry this is all somewhat of a shock. Im sure you have many questions, but perhaps later?”
“Where will you take us?” Maxon asked

Jason was glad the meeting went well. He gave away enough clues to Ji'zhan and he was sure the man would be able to link it together. With his diplomatic channels, he could easily find out what Saarok was and pick up the clues with the section and the number 31. That was good. Now it was time to... make the evidence go away. Instead of getting out of the Jeffries tube, Jason proceeded towards the federation embassy. It was a long trip through the tubes but he was fit and it did not pose a significant problem for him.
After he finally arrived to the hatch leading to the embassy, he slowly opened it and when he noticed that there was no one around he came out of the tube. There seemed to be no one around but just in case he picked up a wooden figurine from a shelf nearby. It was the fertility symbol from Risa, but that was not what he needed it for, as he slowly made way to the Ambassadors secret office. He saw that the door was open and one man was working at the computer. He slowly approached and before the man realized he was there he swung and hit him on the head knocking him out. When the man’s body hit the floor Jason dropped the figurine on him and went to work.
He aborted the programs the computer tech was running and entered the code to access the system. Then he pulled out his tricoder and after establishing a link with the computer transferred a virus onto it. Within 30 seconds all of the databanks would be wiped clean. He smiled as he thought of how good this was going and cast one last look at the man unconscious on the floor, there was blood coming from his head. But it was no matter. By the time they found out what happened he would be long gone. He slipped out the same way he came in and closed the Jeffries tube access hatch behind him...

Running for Mayor had never been much of a problem in the past. Drolem sat at his desk. He was in his civil office the one allocated him as part of his duties as opposed to his underworld headquarters. He had to have closed that one and move it after Admiral Lin’s visit last month.
He was reviewing plans to redevelop the Arcade, he had some links with a developer and if handled correctly the shares he had invested would give him a pretty good return. He was still somewhat concerned by the level of security being stepped up on the station and this Mr Savalis investigation. He was pretty certain it wouldn’t be too much of a problem, once he did a bit of digging on him. Everyone had their dark pasts and everyone had their price.
He had barely got through the development plan when. Grok appeared,
“What are you doing here?” Drolem hissed,
Gork grunted, shrugging his broad shoulders,
“Thought you’d wanna know. That Bolly is standing against you”
“Bolly? Standing?” Drolem replied, Gork was not known for his intelliegence, it wasn’t what Drolem employed him for.
“Hishar. He is standing for Mayor”
Drolem thumped the desk in annoyance, the Bolian was popular and could very well make life difficult for him.
“Sort it” he hissed, “I don’t care how but sort it”
***
With all that was happening on Assailant both the Security Office and Intell were busy. There was still no sign of Saarok. They were certain he wasn’t off base, but even so it was a vast area to search.
Sharon had taken time out from pounding the streets to check in with the main office. She started by running through incident reports and the brig logs. Then a note from T’Lor from Alpha Security Station caught her eye. She picked up her phaser, clipping it to her side and then popped next door.
“Simon” She called to Tomlinson who was at his desk, “You might be interested in this, Hishars been assaulted and his restaurant turned over. I m on my way down there now.”

Felix had been sitting in his office pondering on the latest events when a call came. Apparently the computer tech working on the computer in the federation embassy has been attacked. That was all they told him before the channel closed. And now he had to get down there and see what happened. Once the channel closed Felix rushed out of his office and hurried to the federation embassy to see what was going on down there. After a longer trip through the base Felix finally arrived down there. There were security officers with tricoder’s everywhere and once he went in he saw that chief of security Venneti was also there.
"What happened here", Felix said
"Well apparently someone snuck in, hit that man on the head and wiped out all the data from the computer", Venneti said, "Healer T'Val has already been called, she should arrive here soon to help the injured man", Venneti said
<Tag T'val>
"What do you mean all the data was deleted?", Felix said
"Just like I said the computer is completely empty. But no worries we'll get the guilty party soon. We recovered one hair fiber. It was on the weapon which the computer tech was attacked. We did a DNA test on it and are running it against the database, we should get a hit pretty soon", Venneti said
Before Felix could say anything more, another call came through. Apparently someone roughed up one of the candidates for Major, and busted up his restaurant. Well guess he couldn't spend all his time on this investigation, besides not like there was much more to do right now. The evidence in the computer has been destroyed. But at least they still had the pads.
"Good", Felix said, "Let me know when you find out who it is. I have to go and check up on what is happening with one of the candidates for Major, apparently he was attacked.", Felix said as he left for Hishars restaurant
--Meanwhile at the JAG office--
After getting out of the Jeffries tube, Jason got back to his quarters and changed into a white JAG uniform with the pips of a commander. He was about to go and tend to the second part of the evidence recovered from the secret office of Ambassador Saarok. All in the line of duty he thought as he attached the pips to the uniform.
After entering the JAG office without any problems he went to find the FCIS man who was analyzing the pads. He would then present him with a forged order apparently signed by Captain Savali and take all the pads, which would then by accident be wiped clean. He thought as he smiled while approaching the FCIS man.
"Hello Mr. Vaughn", he said as he approached the man
"Sir", Vaughn said looking up from his work
"Are these the pads confiscated from the Federation Embassy", he asked
"Yes they are, sir", Vaughn replied
"I have here an order from Captain Savali to pick up the pads and take them down to him, apparently there is a secret code on one of them and he needs it to access the Ambassadors computer, I have the order right here.", Jason said handing the FCIS man his pad
"All seems to be in order", the FCIS man said as he started putting all the pads in the crate
When he was done he gave the crate to Jason who then thanked him and left the office. After he left the office he turned into an empty corridor where he took of the JAG uniform under which he had plain civilian clothing. He threw the uniform in the box with the pads and set one tricoder inside which was programmed to emit a strong electro magnetic pulse which will wipe all of the pads clean. Then he opened the nearest Jeffries tube entrance and threw the box inside. He closed the Jeffries tube hatch and walked away. Phase two of his assignment was complete. He smiled again as he thought how good he was doing so far. But he has only just begun...

T'Val sighed in annoyance as she was called to the federation's embassy. Stuart hadn't returned yet from examining Admiral Lin and she was deeply concerned for the Trill admiral. "On my way," she acknowledged the page and told TSomba where she was going.
On her way out she was nearly run over by Rayna who came wheeling into sickbay at a deadly speed, cursing under her breath. Rayna stopped and turned, apologizing to her Vulcan friend, before continuing her way to report to TSomba and apologize for being late.
T'Val sighed again as she picked up her medkit again and continued her way. When she arrived at the embassy she found Captain Savali standing to the side while a junior tech was kneeling beside the knocked down older technician. "What happened?" she querried, as she pulled out her medical tricorder.
"He got whacked over the head doc," the junior brabbled, "security's found something on the object he got hit with. They're running the DNA against the computer now." He continued babbling about what happened as T'Val continued to work.
"Crewman, no offense but shut up," T'Val finally told him, "go bother someone else and let me examine my patient."
The tech fell silent, obviously stunned at being told to shut up by a Vulcan civillian. However he got to his feet, clearly insulted, and sulked off to complain to his superiors. T'Val further ignored him and focused on her patient. "He is merely unconscious," she reported, "and suffering from a severe concussion due to the hit on the head he took. He should regain consciousness soon, and I want him back in sickbay for observation in a few hours. He should, however, be fine when he wakes up."
She fished around in her medkit for the appropriate vial and slapped it into her hypospray before injecting the content into the tech's bloodstream. "I have injected him with a stimulant so security may get coherent answers when they question him. After that, send him to sickbay."
The Vulcan healer rose to her feet and dusted her robe off as she snapped her medkit shut. "Anything else, while I am here?" she querried, "I heard Ambassador Saarok is missing, has he been recovered yet? When he is, I want him in sickbay for examination, just to be safe."

Things were starting to get out of hand on more than one front. It was as if Magellan could feel everything slipping through his fingers and the more he tightened his grip the faster it went.
Saarok was still missing, there had been a break in at the embassy, Hishar had been assaulted and his restuarant trashed, Felix was making all manner of waves in his investigation, a ship load of refugees was in coming and his blend with Lin was the most unpredicatable it had ever been.
He realised his moods had been swinging wildly lately but that was due to the unusual blend between him and Lin. Gethin, Bryson, Toya and Loran seemed to become so vivid at times, their emotions so strong and vibrant. It was so real as if these people were still alive, it was like having 4 people inside his head, the effort to keep them quiet was overwhelming.
Loran was there again
**The smoke cleared, its acrid taint still clinging to her lungs. She coughed clearing it. Quickly I adjusted my weapon and checked its setting. From out of the smoke came one of the terrorists, I levelled the weapon and fired, burning away the face and neck. The man slumped to the floor. "What the hell are you doing Loran?" Tilana screamed, "We needed him to get to the others" "He was a terrorist" I shrugged**
Gethin fought back
** The text seemed endless and even if passed there was very little doubt that any Turkana would ever sign up to it. A wave of apprhension flooded over me, unless I managed some deal then my career would be over...**
Magellan screwed up his eyes and screamed at them to stop, to make the memories disappear. Crossing to his replicator he replicated a string drink and downed it in one before slumping into the chair with a second one.

"No he has not been found, yet. It is only a matter of time. As soon as he is interrogated by security and JAG, he will be sent to sickbay for examination"; Felix said.
"You can interrogate him in sickbay," T'Val suggested, "there is no safer place than sickbay. It is not bugged, and one will not be overheard there when using an isolation unit. Is there anything else I need to attend to?"
"Nothing more is needed from you for now, Healer. And thank you ", Felix said, "For coming down to help our computer tech.", he finished.
T'Val nodded but didn't respond; instead she froze as Yade winged in and settled on her shoulder. She snapped her medkit shut and rose to her feet, acknowledging her little green pet. "It is only my job captain," she finally replied, "please excuse me I have other work to attend to."
The Vulcan left the Federation embassy in such a hurry that Yade screeched in protest and went awing once more. The appearance of her green firelizard had made her realize something. Tedak's fair never went far from him unless ordered to stay away from him, but so far she'd only seen Saarok's blue Sephirot. However there'd been no sign of the dominant queen, Aeris.
~perhaps she is where Saarok is~ she realized, stopping dead in her tracks. She turned and started walking back to the embassy, then stopped again. She didn't trust this human captain who had started his extensive and unannounced investigations, and she didn't feel she could trust him with this information. There was someone, however, that she did trust completely.
T'Val turned again and started running, meanwhile tapping her combadge. "Lily, locate Admiral Lin. It is urgent that I find him."
"The admiral is in his office," Lily replied, seemingly in a better mood than earlier, "shall I warn him of your eminent arrival?"
"No," T'Val replied, "that is not necessary. This is too important and he may not want to see me."
"Very well," Lily replied, "but I will show him a log of this conversation if he asks about it."
"Certainly," T'Val answered, while she continued running. A few minutes later she arrived at OPS, and was surprised that she wasn't barred access. She beelined for Lin's office, knocked on his door and proceeded to enter. "Aeris!" she called as she approached Lin, "Aeris is the key to Saarok's disappearance. She would know where he-" She broke off when Lin didn't seem to acknowledge her.
Then she noticed the weary look on the Trill's face as he sat slumped in his seat, nursing a drink she couldn't identify. "Admiral are you all right?" she querried, as she came closer, "in all honesty sir, you look terrible." The Vulcan healer placed her medkit on the admiral's desk and snapped it open, picking up her medical tricorder and scanner. "I am not going to ask you to report to sickbay," she assured him, "and I know you have been recently examined, but I am worried about you."

***BEFORE T'VALS POST*** As Tomlinson was rushing from his office towards the station commander’s somewhat larger office, he was running through what he would say in his head. He had just about refined the words to exactly what he wanted when Lily appeared on a nearby console. “Admiral Lin requests that you remain in your office so that he can meet you there. But apparently you aren’t there. Maybe I’ll tell him that you left on purpose.” There was a childish teasing there as she showed off the power that she could wield. Tomlinson replied succinctly, knowing that she would obey his order. “That will not be necessary. Inform him that I might be a bit late.” The human let out a hiss of air in frustration and then swung around to head back to where he had come from. It was just like senior staff members to mess people around like this, but it was most unlike Magellan to engage in such mind games for no reason, and most of the time it was merely used to reign people in. It was Captain Savali that these actions should be aimed at, not himself. Unless of course the JAG officer had managed to corrupt the Admiral’s mind. That was likely, his commanding officer was a very soft man, it was likely that he was being led by Savali now. When the fleet intel officer arrived back at his office, not only did he not find Admiral Lin, but he also had an uptight Sharon Vanetti step into the room and comment about something relating to Hishar. Rolling his eyes, Tomlinson grabbed a couple of PADDs and a phaser from his cabinet and made his third journey in the past few minutes. He jogged for the first while so as to catch up with the security chief and then walked along with her. “JAG seem to be taking a lot of interest in things without taking much action.” He commented. “JAG are being stupid, they are creating waves that have plain ruined a large number of long term investigations my office has been running. He has helped himself to almost half of my staff and you know how short we are anyway, with command never willing to give us enough to adequately police the civilian sections.” “How is the civilian force doing?” It had been one of the main changes that had been implemented while Simon had been security chief, although he had had little to do with the change, merely signed a few forms. “They try their best, but without any tangible power, they do little more than provide a façade of safety.” “They put faces into places we wouldn’t be able to otherwise, they act as a preventative measure.” The pair had had this debate out a number of times before and both knew where it would go. “It doesn’t matter. Captain Savali is taking them as his own and vesting them with all kinds of powers I doubt he should be. They are like vigilantes, and of course they think they are still serving the good.” “Its all rubbish, bureaucracy everywhere.” Tomlinson replied, using the line that Sharon normally closed her argument with. She turned sharply towards him, frowning. “Someone has changed their tune.” “Someone has been run all over. Someone isn’t going to put up with it anymore.” The pair cut off their conversation when they reached the bolian’s restaurant. It was one of the more exclusive on the starbase, the location that an officer would take their family on visits, or perhaps a second or third date. It was also, at this time, completely empty. “Where is everyone?” Tomlinson wondered outloud. “Scared away most likely.” Vanetti replied with a degree of insight. “Simeth?” “Simeth.” She replied with a nod. “You can handle things here. I need to talk to Admiral Lin. And this time I will actually see him.” He flashed her a quick smile as he left, and made his way up towards ops. A few minutes later, after some arguing with Lin’s secretary, he stepped in through the double doors. “Admiral, so good to actually manage to see you. I’m afraid that I do not come bearing good news.” He allowed no pause for interruption. “Regarding the recent events, I have decided that the only course of action that I can take to maintain justice is to resign my commission and pursue my goals as an independent civilian.”

Magellan struggled to pull himself together. He stared carefully at Simon as if weighing him up for the first time. "Has this got anything to do with the JAG Investigation. YOu have nothing to worry about there. I have already pulled up Mr Savali for that."
Simon shook his head, "No no its not that its...I don't know. Things arent the same anymore."
"The same? Your missing Security work"
"Not at all. Intelligence work was what I was born to do, well thats what I thought anyways. I ve just realised I guess that its all just pointless."
Magellan shook his head in disagreement, "Protecting people is never pointless its..."
"Really, how much have we let slide here. The Mayor is corrupt and we know it - we ve given him free reign for three years now."
"You know why we let him run. Better the devil you know, and he kept the other nastier groups off Assailant"
Simon shrugged that off,
"Yeah well perhaps that making me feel a little dirty these days. We always seem to be letting bad people do bad stuff just to stop the worse people I guess I m just tired of it."
"Theres nothing else then, you dont want a break?"
"No Sir. I ve made my mind up."
Magellan fixed Simon with a stare, and then lowered his chin on to steepled fingers.
"Your a fine officer and it will be a loss to Starfleet. But I can empathise with your position, its very easiy to lose sight of who you are at times." he paused pensivly. Simon shifted uneaily unsure if the Admiral was finished. Finally Magellan continued, "Sadly I accept your resignation. I ll file it first thing in the morning. I ll keep you on the reservists list though. Once in Intellegience always in Intelligence."
"Thankyou sir"
"No sir now. Its Magellan. You thought about what your going to do now?"
"Not really, I guess I ll just take some time to myself" Simon replied,
Magellan smiled, an odd smile...almost Machevelian.
"You know Hishar was going to stand for Mayor."
"Sharon mentioned it"
"Then you know hes been beaten even bluer and has withdrawn. Bound to be Drolems goons. Perhaps now is the time for things to change. Just a shame theres no one with the know-how or gumption to stand against him. Ah well that life I suppose. As I said better the devil you know hey."
Magellan extended a hand and shook Simons,
"Well good luck. And make sure you give your future considerable thought."

Ji'Zhan walked across the recreation deck to a place called The Dustcloud Restaurant. It seemed to be the busiest place at the time. The person in the Jeffery's Tube said a place with more than 31 people. So, Ji'Zhan walked in and started to look around. Nothing at first jumped out. Just a lot of people doing very ordinary things. Until that is he looked over to the far end of the room. There he saw standing a statue. It stood out simply because everything in the restaurant was symmetrical, aesthetically. Every light fixture was mirrored on the other side of the room, every window, every table and booth, every pattern, every waiter's station, everything but this statue. By now, in Ji'Zhan's mind, it was standing out like a crying Vulcan in a room full of clowns. Then what the statue was depicting hit him hard. It was the old Earth Judicial System blind folded lady with a set of scales. Many, Ji'Zhan was sure, wouldn't know its reference. However, Ji'zhan just came from a trip to Earth and its history was still fresh in his mind. He made his way past the people waiting for a table and past the waiter who asked him if he could be of any help or wanted something to drink. Reaching the statue he looked at the scales. In both sides of the scale the number 15.5 was etched. "15.5 is half of 31", Ji'Zhan thought to himself. Balance was also racing across Ji'Zhan's mind. 'What the man said back in the tubes, they went to far this time', he thought. 'That must mean they are no longer in balance.' Ji'Zhan looked around and then remembered another comment the man made to him, "behind a cover that no one would suspect". 'Behind a cover,' he thought. 'Cover, cover, what cover. There must be something here.' Ji'Zhan looked around and saw no covers. No physical cover, nothing that would hide anything. As he walked behind the statue he noticed that here was as a mirror along the wall. However, this mirror wasn't reflecting the images it should. Ji'Zhan walked up to the mirror and slowly placed his hand on it. It disappeared. He quickly pulled it back. Looking around he found that the statue did hide this part of the wall from view of the restaurant goers. He raised his hand again and this time another hand reached out from the mirror and with a force that gave him and his neck an jolt, pulled him through the wall and into the hands of three very strong and dark men. The men lead him down a narrow hall and into a room. Ji'Zhan took a moment to look around the dimly lit room. He saw four of his friends and a person with his back turned to him, on his shoulder was a very familiar looking Firelizard. Ji'Zhan didn't have the chance to say anything ... one of the dark men had administered something to Ji'Zhan and his body slumped to the floor.

"Rayna has just been arrested," T'Shan managed between gasps, "I do not know why, but I saw security lead her away from Ambassador Saarok's office just as I passed to check up on D'Beren."
Ezdreiana straightened up when she heard that Rayna had been arrested. She had only briefly met her once and even then it was only an acknowledgement. She had read up on her and was surprised to know how much she had done for the Federation and Admiral Loskene.
"Yes, it troubles me that they would arrest someone who has given so much of herself for Federation citizens. Without another moments notice the three of them were on there way towards the brig. As they marched there way there thoughts ran through her mind. Was someone setting a trap for Tedak? Was someone going after Rayna just because they knew that Tedak would react like this? The fact that Saarok had been abducted was troubleing, but things would become worse if the Romulan Ambassador was hurt or even worse killed.
"I am forbidden to grant you entrance ambassador," the guard spoke, surprisingly politely, "I am going to ask you to leave without making trouble."
"What about me?" Ezdreiana said finally making her presence known. There wouldn't be any decent reason for denying her access to a civilian.
"You neither ma'am," the guard said," my orders are precise."
The guard shook his head. "JAG orders sir," he replied, "especially diplomats are not to visit any prisoners taken during the investigation. The woman was stirring up trouble and preventing the captain from doing his work. I'm certain she'll be released soon enough, her superiors are being informed."
"She is a civilian on the base," Ezdreiana interrupted," she doesn't respond to anyone but...." She then remembered that Rayna helped out in sickbay and was really close to Loskene. The realization put her at ease knowing that he wouldn't just sit there and let Rayna stay in the brig.
Ezdrieana felt that her presence would not do any good and just waited for Tedak to finish with guard. As she waited outside she noticed that some security officers were making there way towards the turbolift.
"Lily, where are those guards headed?" Ezdreiana asked.
"The diplomatic deck," Lily responed. Ezdreiana cursed at the realization that the investigation was not over with. At that moment she wished she could punch Savali in the face. Even though JAG had given him this power he could of easily have worked with them.
"Has he gone mad? He's now harassing civillians as well."
"He's treading on a fine line," Ezdreiana responded," and if he isn't careful he will make an enemy of the Diplomatic core."
It seemed that Tedak partically agreed with her statement. Ezdreiana of course didn't want to make an enemy of Felix, but he was treating everyone as if they were children. He was disrespecting them by questioning there integreity. She could see his side, but for her purposes it was easier to jsut be mad at him.
"Tedak I don't think we will be able to do much here," Ezdreiana said," hopefully T'Val, Loskene, or Stuart will be able to help Rayna out. Right now I suggest we do our own investigation and find out what really is going on here."

Response to T'Vals post:
IC:
Magellan looked up,
"Am I alright?" he laughed, "I don't have time to be anything else." He drained the glass and set it on the table. "On top of everything else happening today I ve just lost the service of a good officer. Now to your suggestion, you are right the Firelizard would know where he is. I m sure Ms Vanetti who is cinducting the search for Saaork would value such information. I ll pass it on. I want to ensure you its only a matter of time before he is found. The station is secure all departures are being monitored and the sheilds are raised to prevent beam outs."
"But Aeris could lead us to Saarok"
"That is true but there is no US in this. You are I m afraid to say just healer in our civilian hospital, when you become my Chief of Security I ll allow you to take part in rescue operations. Do not rely on your...relationship with Dr Mercy to give you carte blanche, now if you don't mind you may have noticed this station seems to be descending into the 7th level of hell and I d like to do something to stop that."
TAG T'Val
As she reached the door Magellan looked up oncemore and added,
"Oh and T'Val just because Security was absent from the entrance to the Ops level it doesnt mean you can disregard standing orders that Civilian Staff are not allowed on this deck without permission...that doesn't include Lily."

After T'Val departed from the embassy, security chief Vanetti came running to Felix before he could leave to see what happened to the candidate for Mayor.
"We got him", she said
"Got who?", Felix asked
"The man who hit the tech on the head.”, she said, “The hair belongs to Elder Ji'zhan, ambassador of the Debrune. I have already dispatched security teams to arrest him", Vanetti said
"Elder Ji'zhan?", Felix exclaimed surprised, "What possible motive he could have?", he asked
"No idea", Vanetti responded, "Maybe Saarok had some evidence connecting Ji'zhan to the murder of Elder Jak'dor... that would be a motive", she finished
"Yes, that would indeed.", you just let me know when you arrest him
After wrapping up his convo with Vanetti, Felix decided to check on the progress with the pads confiscated from the embassy. Seeing they had no evidence from the computer, that was their last bit of evidence which they could use to pressure Saarok.
=/\=Savali to FCIS=/\=
=/\=FCIS here, go ahead Captain=/\=
=/\=What’s the progress on the pads from the federation embassy=/\=
=/\=None sir, you requested them 30 minutes ago... one of your JAG officers took them, showed me an order signed by you=/\=
=/\=What? Are you insane? I signed no such order=/\=, he yelled at the man
=/\=Sure you did sir, the computer confirmed it was your signature=/\=
=/\=Someone must've falsified it and they took our only bit of evidence against the Ambassador.=/\=
=/\=I'm sorry sir, i thought your ordered this.=/\=
=/\=From now on I want all written orders to be confirmed over the comm. system before they are executed.=/\=
=/\=Understood sir, and sir, just now one of the security officers brought a box containing a dead tricoder and a whole load of blank pads. There was a JAG uniform in there too... it's the same one in which the man who took the pads came. I'm sorry sir, we've lost all the evidence.=/\=
=/\=What!!! Heads will roll for this. Starting with yours.=/\=
=/\=Sir?=/\=
=/\=Yes, you heard me. As of now you are suspended from all duties.=/\=
=/\=But sir...=/\=
And Felix closed the channel. It must be that Debrune Elder Ji'zhan. Trying to protect himself. It didn't matter they had nothing on Saarok. The Debrune would do just fine. After he was done with the convo with the FCIS he contacted OPS and requested that the order for the arrest of Ambassador Saarok be withdrawn and issued a new one for the Arrest of Debrune Elder Ji'zhan on the charge of Assault in the 1st Degree, impeding a JAG investigation and destroying evidence...
--Meanwhile elsewhere on the station--
Jason was not happy. The idiot Ji'zhan got himself captured by the men he was supposed to take down. But that did not matter. Jason had a backup plan and when he heard that the warrant for the arrest of Elder Ji'zhan was issued, he decided it was time to put it in motion. He contacted the men who held Ji'zhan and his friends and announced he was coming. He concealed a weapon under hi shirt and was prepared. After a longer trip through the base he finally arrived to his destination. The men who caught Ji'zhan moved him to another location. They could not keep too many Debrune in one place.
"Mr. Jason, welcome to our humble meeting place"; one of the men said
"The director sent you a message"; Jason said
"A message"; the man asked
And then Jason pulled out his phaser and started blasting he first shot the man who asked for the message then rolled to the floor to avoid the blast from one of the guards and hit the man in the abdomen while quickly directing his weapon at the third man and hitting him in the head. At that moment three bodies hit the floor. He rose to his feet and put the phaser in the hand of the Debrune Elder who was still out cold. After he was done he contacted Starfleet security with a message that he heard some yelling and shooting from the quarters next to his, he left. Phase 2 was done and Jason was one happy man. He smiled as he exited the quarters and headed for the nearest turbolift with hands in his pocket...

The Romulan nodded. "I quite agree," he answered, "something is going on and they're trying to blame it on the diplomatic corps. The revoking of our immunity as well as Saarok's disappearance prove that." He paused as he regarded his Trill companion. "I know Saarok better than anyone here on this station," he confessed, "at least, I hope I do. And I know he would not stage such an abduction. The surprise we witnessed on the holodeck was real, I could sense it."
At Ezdreiana's surprised glance Tedak finally cast her a small smile. "That mindmeld he forced upon me a few weeks ago wasn't the first one. We have melded before, twice of which to save my life. It creates a sort of bond, if you will. While I cannot sense him per sé, simply because I am neither a telepath nor an empath but also because he will not allow me to sense him, I do know when he is sincere."
The Romulan shrugged. "Certainly, he has pulled his stunts, but he wouldn't disappear like this on his own accord, it would only justify JAG's interest in him. No, I believe he would've met the charges and challenged them."
They were approached by a junior FCIS officer who handed them a piece of real paper. "If you know where Saarok is," he started, "tell him he's no longer wanted. We've lost our interest in him, and instead have found a new lead."
"Who?" Tedak querried, accepting the piece of paper.
"I can't say," the officer replied as he walked away, "I have my orders. I'm sorry, you'll have to take this up with the FCIS in charge."
Tedak glanced at Ezdreiana as he handed her the paper. "And who might that be?"
(officer?)

T'Val actually smiled now, though the worried look never left her face. "I dare not rely on my engagement with Doctor Mercy admiral," she replied, wondering if the statement at all arrived, "and in order for you to be able to stop the station from going....to the 7th level of hell as you put it, you need to be in good health. And frankly, as your doctor, I sincerely doubt that you are up to par at the moment."
She knew her words were very likely out of line, but it wouldn't do to give him false hope. The readings she had taken weren't promising and she'd show them to Stuart as soon as she got back to sickbay.
As she reached the door Magellan looked up oncemore and added, "Oh and T'Val just because Security was absent from the entrance to the Ops level it doesnt mean you can disregard standing orders that Civilian Staff are not allowed on this deck without permission...that doesn't include Lily."
"There were guards there admiral," she countered, "and I did tell Lily that it was urgent. She must have talked to the guards because they let me pass without trouble. And the information I had for you was urgent. I would suggest you use Dinas to contact Aeris. As he is a bronze, she may respond to him."
She didn't wait for Lin to respond as she could she he was on the verge of losing his temper, and she didn't want to bear the brunt of that temper. Instead she hurried back to sickbay and showed Mercy the readings she'd taken. "I am not certain what is wrong with him," she confessed, "his stress levels are sky-high, and I thought I heard him scream before I entered his office. And to be honest, he looks terrible."
T'Val set her medkit aside and returned to her fiancé, sparing a moment to kiss him. "The best thing for him would be to be relieved of duty," she added, "but I am not certain that this would be the wisest course of action. He is needed to solve this situation, but I am in doubt whether he will be able to deal with the pressure."
