Jared had managed to sit into the First Officer's chair on the right of Kanz's without her noticing. She definately needed to be less distracted by everything. Jared leaned closer and spoke quietly. 'You wanted to know about Lucy earlier' She seemed surprised by his presence.
Soon enough, the two were in the ready room.
'I just found out some things you might want to know.' Jared told her 'In other words, you know where she is but haven't decided how much you want to tell me. Believe me, it will be far more damaging to you to leave any details out. So what do you know?' The diminuitive CO was bristling. Her cold voice only showed an inner anger which she was ironically trying not to show. 'Actually very little, hence the statement of 'some things'. What I suspect is that Lucy left Conqueror some time before we arrived on a ship named Hedgehog, but which would be on the station's logs as the Ira Gershwin. Even though the station might not know where the ship is actually going, I suspect since the Ira Gershwin operates around the Neutral Zone, that's where the Hedgehog came from and will return to.' 'What makes you so sure?' 'Because the Hedgehog is not legit, but it has to be somewhere. The Ira Gershwin smuggles in the Romulan Ale so illegal but popular in the Federation. Therefore they probably performed an ID switch. The Hedgehog comes to Conqueror for its business and Ira Gershwin cruises around pretending to the the Hedgehog for a while. They need to meet up again to know to switch back.' 'Is that all?' Still she was being as cold as possible still, but being a Betazoid was not the best at it. Jared could see the concern. 'Apparently she went because of mention of Tellarites by the crew of the Hedgehog. They might be trading contacts or another ship. I don't know which or why she would leave on the Hedgehog since it is only a small smuggling ship. Perhaps you would know' Jared could see more of a concern on her face. Perhaps if she were to tell him more, he could find out more. Either through Swift's in depth knowledge of basically the whole universe, or through private communication channels.

[Messhall]… the three took a seat at the counter, ordered a few drinks and started talking about there lil adventure on the holodeck
“Hey trey do you know that woman over in the corner…couse she keeps looking over here” asked Sam.
“No I don’t and u know she could just be looking in our direction…or she’s interested in one of you guys”
“Who’s interested” Ed said with a mouth full of cherry pie
“Aamm maybe not” {maverick}
“What”{Ed}
“You may want to clean up your face” {Sam}
“Hey, hey she’s coming over” {Ed}
“Hello kyosuke” the woman said engorging Sam and Ed’s presences
“Kyosuke” who’s that Ed asked looking over at Sam
“Am guessing its trey” {Sam}
Kyosuke… the name echoed in his mind, he had not been called that in almost 5 years. And who was this woman who seems to know that name. He turned to face her as he passed his hand through his hair
“Hey, trey are you sure you don’t know who she is” Sam asked
“Yeah couse she seem to know you” added Ed.
“How long has it been since you left plant Vulcan?” She asked “five years is it” answering her question. Maverick eyed her up and down taking in as much as possible she was about 5 feet 6 has long blond curly hair the reached the centre of her back , green eyes, but one thing stood out most was her arched eye brows. She was Vulcan; he blinked his eyes in surprise
“Who are you?” he finally asked but she ignored his question and walked off.
“Man you sure have a way with the ladies” {Ed}
“Sorry guys got to go my shift is about to start” trey said as he walked away from Ed and Sam. He headed into the lift “bridge” the bridge seem to be empty of any sr.staff ((where is every one)) he thought to him self, he made his way to his console and took a seat. Maverick did some scans of the area only to find out that it was plagued with gravity wells all over the place making it hard to venture in, this would most defiantly be a test of his piloting skills a task he was willing to take.Maverick went about creating safe nav point in which he could take the ship but it did not look to good every time he got a little close to one of the gravity wells it violently shook the ship
“What the hell is going on here” commander Kanz shouted as she ran out of the briefing room
“sorry about that ma’am but it seem that we have come up against an obstacle here… gravity well every time I get a little close we get shook , I am currently trying to find a way through” maverick answered. “I have come up with plan to plot a safe way in but am going to need to do a lil research 1st” <TAG>Kanz
ooc: Trey I've modified your post so we can actually read it. Please don't use glow font for in character post, it makes them very difficult to read. ~Sonak~

Kate rolled over in the cot, the stupor of her meds starting to wear off. How long had she been out. Her mind started racing. Where was she, who was she, was her mission compromised? A doctor took notice she was awake and walked over. He was kind looking, his slightly balding head reflected the lights.
"And how's my favorite patient doing today?" he asked as he started scanning.
"How.."
"Four weeks, two days," he answered obviously anticipating her question. She lay back down and let him finish the scans. He turned and started walking away. She didn't miss a beat. Grabbing the medical cart she hefted it through the air at the doctors head. It harmlessly passed through him and bounced off the forcefield in front of him. He looked at the cart then at her.
"Doctor Hedin and Jatan suggested you be treated by an EMH as you obviously have a violent tendency." He smiled at her, "I've had my share of violent patients, Comander Torres wasn't particularly fond of me for the longest time."
Kate looked at him with intrigue, this was no EMH this was Voyagers EMH which meant he wasn't any EMH. He had a mobile emmiter. She surveyed him some more as he rambled on about his past patients. ~there it is~ she thought to herself as she spotted the silver thing on his shoulder. She motioned him to come close.
"I have a bit of a headache, could you give me something to dull the pain?"
"Certainly." he walked over and pulled out a hypo spray. Just as he bent over to administer it she reached up and pulled his emmiter off forcing him to vanish into thin air.
"Now how do I get out of here," she muttered pocketing the emitter.

"Greetings Mr Fox," she announced, as she entered the science laboratory, "do you need assistance with anything?" Hopefully it was clear to the ship's science chief that she was looking for something to keep her occupied and in the loop of ship's business. <Fox> After helping Fox conduct a few scans, she took the PADD's with her to analyse the results over lunch. Fox was in the science lab doing some analysis' when Sonak walked in. "Greetings Mr Fox." she said "do you need assistance with anything?" Fox turned around and looked at her. "Well, i'm looking at the sensor scans of the past missions through this area, seeing if i can find something we overlooked or to support Hedins theories." He then turned to this console again. "Maybe you could help me. If its some kind of virus your medical knowledge might come handy." After a while, still nothing had come up from the analysis. Even after compairing with their own scans although those weren't acurate. Fox pressed a few buttons and the computer started some analysis. "This will run for a while." he started. "It's almost dinner time, shall we go to the messhall?" he took a pad and gave it to her "Some of the data from the past missions contained records of a nebula in this area. Maybe we could look at that after lunch" Sonak nodded and took the pad. Both walked out of the science lab. On their way to the messhall Sonak decided to visit sickbay first. "See you later then." Fox replied when she said goodbye and went on to the messhall.

After commander Kanz was done fully assessing the situation she gave trey the okay he needed to start the research, he excused him self and left the conn and made his way to the turbolift
“Deck 4 astrometrics”
The turbolift came to a Holt trey walked out and made his way to the astrometrics lab he seemed to be heavy in thought his legs taking him where he needs to go instinctively. The door slid open to the lab and he walked to the console, keyed in a few commands and a holographic projection of the balla cluster materialized in front of him. It was a vast expanse of nebulas, asteroids and closely packed stars and gas giants ~this is going to be much harder that I 1st expected~ ~there is almost no way a ship the size of the VES could could make it all the way through with out getting rip to shreds by all these gravity wells~. This was indeed going to be a lot of hard work. After a few hours of plotting and re plotting, check and rechecks the young Ensign was now done with half of his research. He left astrometrics and headed for the ship’s library.
[LIBRARY] it was empty and dimly lit he walked in and headed to on one of the decks he pulled up some historical files on the cluster, on past exploits of other ships that ad been through. But there where not many most ships never came back and those that did never made it far enough to collect any valuable data “this is going no where” he said to him self.
“Talking to your self ensign” a voice came in from behind him “you look like u could use some assistance” it continued
“Yeah I could most defiantly use some assistance” he replied with out looking back
“So what can I help u with” the voice sounding much closer now
“well am looking into the history of the balla cluster but start fleets data banks has little to nothing on it” he said, finally looking up in the direction the voice was coming from. It was the young Vulcan he had met earlier in the messhall she was now leaning over his shoulder.
“YOU, what are u doing in here?” he asked a lil suspired to see her so soon
“Now that’s a stupid question to ask… who did u think u was talking to?”
“The librarian”
“Exactly…”
“Sorry I was just a little suspired to see u here that’s all” she taped a few key and seconds later there was a Vulcan data base on his screen they both ran through it, but it also yielded nothing.
“ I guess the only way we are going to find out any thing is if we go in our self…and get back out… that’s for the help talk to u later” were his last words to her as he left the library and head back to the bridge [Bridge] commander Kanz was now in the center chair a waiting his findings, he handed her his data padd and watched as she read it .
ooc: this is a run down of what my findings were[ Findings: the cluster is extremely hazardous to maneuver its field with gravity wells, subspace distortions, magnetic fields and asteroid fields. Conclusion: only way to get in safely with out being busted up is by sending a small shuttle in 1st and have it leave a trail of bread crumbs. Estimated time 73 hours]

ooc: Hedin a reply from you would be good about now...feel free to call sonak back to sickbay for further examinations.
Seeing that Hedin was busy, Sonak thought it was best not to further waste the doctor's precious time. "I will be in holodeck three," she announced, assuming that he'd want her to relax, rather than work.
Still, she had Fox's scans to examine and she was looking forward to doing so. However, she didn't want to give the CMO any cause for keeping her off duty much longer; she wasn't the person to idly sit around and twidle her thumbs while there was work to be done.
It was too bad that Jatan was busy elsewhere on the ship too; even though they had just spent a few weeks of shoreleave together, she promised herself to make more time for him and her children in the future. Being a commanding officer was time consuming and often did go at the expense of spending quality time with her family.
She hadn't been lying to the doctor, she wás feeling good. The Vulcan was all too aware of her own health at the moment, having so horribly neglected it over the past missions. Standing in front of the large mirror in her quarters, she examined herself. Her body was still showing some bruises and scars, from where the Cardassian had attacked her. Jatan had assured her that over time the scars would fade. Naturally, being a medic, she knew that they would, but she wondered about the mental scars.
At present, the Vesuvius had no fully trained counselor, she'd have to find one soon enough. Certainly, Hedin provided a good substitute because of his species, but it wasn't entirely the same. Suddenly it dawned on her why she was feeling so good and she smiled brightly at her own reflection. Deciding to keep it a secret to her crew for now, she dressed herself in a comfortable tunic and skirt, gathered up her children and headed towards the holodeck.
Soon, she'd have to start preparing dinner, and then she'd tell Jatan. Her children were estatic at her return, and were impatiently pulling her towards the holodeck, eager to spend some time with their mother. They were only too aware of the change in her, having keenly felt her misery and pain before.
Sonak could see that Hedin had taken good care of her, and made a mental note to thank him personally when she would see him next. "Did you bring your tools?" she enquired, looking down at the two sets of twins.
Four heads bobbed an acknowledgement and again Sonak smiled. "Well then, let us go build a dam!" The children cheered and ran down to the crystal clear creek, gathering rocks and sticks.
Sonak reminded herself to go talk to her first officer before going home. While they had a breakfast appointment, the Vulcan would like to get an update on the ship's status. Even though she was not in command, and she had promised not to interfere with L'Ola's command style, she still felt she had the right to know what was going on aboard her own ship.

The commander seemed a bit worried with her new CNO’s findings but gave him the go a head, but there was one condition, he had to take some one with him. There was no way she was going to let him under go this mission on his own. He nodded to her request and left the bridge. [Deck 2.] as he walked the halls trying to think up upgrades that he might need or have to make to one of the shuttles he stopped in his tracks. Looking at his data padd he noticed something new or rather something he had missed. He leaned against the wall and let him self slid to the floor. He had been a seating position revising his notes of at list an hour when his concentration was broken by the sounds of children’s talking and laughter. Looking up he saw commodore sonak and her kids heading back to her quarters from what seeded to be a family outing.
“Captain!?...sorry to be in your way like this got a lil lost in my work.” “am reworking my data.” Answering her unspoken question “well am off” he said as he got to his feet and began to walk away from them “you know… I was asked to take some one with me, so how about it… are you interested in going on a wild ride ma’am.” He said with a smile on his face. “ I know that you have not been reinstated to command yet and I think this will give you something to keep your mind busy” he added as he continued to walk away from her and the kids. “if you are interested meet me in shuttle bay 1 in a half hour”

"A wild ride?" the Vulcan replied, raising an eyebrow at the young navigator. She remembered that this now somewhat tamed young man used to be indeed a wild child. Now that she looked at him, she also remembered that he'd been avoiding her for quite some time.
Not just since she came back aboard, but before her forced vacation as well. She watched him as he waited for her response, smiling slightly as her children danced around him, trying to attract his attention.
"What sort of wild ride?" she then asked, pondering about the idea. Surely Jatan would be home soon, and she did need something to do. "In an hour? Yes I believe I would like to see that."
Seeing the young ensign smile, she returned the smile warmly. "I will see you in an hour," she emphasized, "but now I must get my children bathed and fed, and feed myself."
~~ an hour later ~~
Sonak walked into the shuttle bay and gazed about for Maverick. "Ensign Maverick, why exactly are we going on this wild ride you mentioned?"

"Ensign Maverick, why exactly are we going on this wild ride you mentioned?" she had asked
“Well ma’am as you know our mission is to explore and find out why ships have been disappearing in the balla Cluster, but we have come up against a road block for lack of a better term in the form of gravity wells, they make it hard for us to continue” maverick said, and he continued “so I did a bit of research and found a way through…” “The captain has already given me the go ahead but I had to bring some one along”. “So wanna help me finish up these modification, and then we can leave” she gave him slight nod and together they finished off the upgrades to the shuttles systems and modifications to its hull.
“Well all done, are you ready?” he asked and she answered by walking in and taking her seat. “Well I guess that a yes” he said with a smile as he headed to the conn. The main bay door opened and they were of on there way. He made a pass over the VES. And keyed in his course. It didn’t take them long to get to his 1st nav point
“Commodore if you would be so kind… launches the first probe pleas… these probes well emit a negative pulse with will counter act the gravity wells. Hopefully they should negate there effects” he said as she launch the probe. “Ok next” and they were off to the next nav point. There were about have done with there lil sub mission where there was a distress call on the com. Sonak did some scans determine the distance and location of the distress ship
“Its not to far fro here, seems to be coming from that small asteroid field over there” sonak said calmly.
“Ok I guess we’re making a lil detour, it should take to long” trey said as he plotted in his new course
It didn’t take them to long to get the asteroid field ~okay??, this is going to be lil more tricky that I 1st thought~ were his silent thoughts on seeing the field, there seemed to be some type of current flowing through the asteroids
“Ok hold on to some thing its going to get bumpy” were his words as he maneuvered the shuttle through the seemingly endless maze of electrical currents coming from the asteroids. It was indeed a bumpy ride as he had predicted but with a little luck, ingenuity and a hole lot of piloting skill he was able to get them to were the distress call was coming from. He gave the commodore a big grin “not even a scratch”. “So are u up for a lil away mission?” he as the commodore. She gave nod. <TAG> sonak
Whiles sonak was checking out the ship trey keep an eye on the asteroids which were drawing closer. The current that flowed through them were now pulling then together. He was able to conclude that they had a bout 30 minutes to do what they came here to do and get out.
"commodore have you found any thing yet"
" no Ensign am still making my way through, its pretty bad in here it will take a little time "
" how long? "
" hard to determine maybe 30 to 40 minutes"
" you’ve got 15 to get there and back"

~15 minutes~ Sonak mused, trying to keep the severely bucking shuttlecraft on course. It had been quite some time since she'd done some actual piloting and this reminded her that she was long overdue in logging some flight hours. "That is not much time ensign!" she called back, wondering where her navigator had gone off to.
On screen, the wreck which had probably sent the distress signal was slowly growing in size. "We have a visual on the ship," she added, pushing the shuttle's engines to it's limits.
The shuttlecraft rocked violently, and it was all she could to to keep herself from being thrown from her seat. ~fifteen minutes~ she thought again, clenching her teeth together, her face a mask of total concentration. Keeping her eyes on the consoles most of the time, she occasionally risked a glance at the wrecked vessel.
"Trey, can you determine the species of that ship?" she called, needing all her concentration on her piloting, "and how far until we are in the clear?"

“Sorry ma’am there specs don’t show up in our data base” maverick was now in an e.v suit. Commodore sonak had now gotten to a docking point and started the docking sequence “ keep this baby running we r going to need to make a quick getaway once I get back” trey said as he ran out the hatch. The ship was in a very bad state there were hull breaches allover the place Debary seemed to litter the hall ways which hampered his effort in getting to the bridge .He shut down his magnetic boots and pushed him self of the wall giving a little more speed. He came to a few bodies but they seemed to have been dead for a number of years the made his way to the bridge door and forced his way in ~what a mess~ the ships internal systems where all but fried.
He when up to one of the consoles and started downloading as much information he could and also keeping an eye on his chrono meter ~that’s it there is more time this will have to do ~ trey was half way back to the docking hatch when ship wide self destruct sequence was activated [10 seconds to self destruct 9, 8, 7, 6…] there was no way he could make it back to the shuttle in time. Then he remembered he had just pass a hole in the hull a second ago he made his way back to ~ah just wide enough~ as he went through the ship began to blow. The blast sent him flying into the black of space
=/\= ah commodore am going to need a bit of a pick up here and try to make it fast =/\=

"On my way ensign," Sonak announced, wondering what the young man had been up to. She had to shield her eyes against the sudden explosion and briefly wondered if she'd arrive too late.
She was still struggling with the controls, but at least she could see a tiny figure being blown away from the debris. "Computer, lock on to these co-ordinates and energize!" she called, as she finally managed to set a course.
Trey Maverick materialized in the aft section of the shuttle and Sonak turned towards him. "What did you do?" she asked him, rather accusingly, "was there anyone alive on that ship? Did you have to destroy it?"
She had no idea of what happened, and with sensors as confused as they were, she'd been unable to take any readings. "Take the controls," she ordered, "you are, after all, the pilot."
(anyone want to chip in here?.....order us back or whatever....)

“Thanks…and no am not hurt but thanks for asking” ignoring her questions as he got his feet and took the A.V suit helmet off. After he was done taking the suit off, he headed to the shuttle conn. “and no I did not do anything, seems there was an automated self district and there was no one alive on that ship but I did download some stuff off there system” answering he questions “nice flying by the way” he added with a smile “seem this hole thing has blown us a lil ways off course.”
"Good work," the Vulcan replied, taking the tricorder from the young ensign, "and thank you. I am hardly a pilot, so I am relieved you are back to take the helm."
There was a dead silence that made trey feel very uncomfortable he had never much liked being in quite places and situation.
“The shuttle is pretty banged up we can’t do much out here, guess we are going to have to head back the VES.” He said trying to spark convocation
Sonak nodded in agreement. "Let us just hope the shuttle is capable of the journey still. As you astutely stated, we are quite a bit off course."
“So how was your trip? and the kids? Am guessing that they are happy to having there mother around more often” he asked with a bit of sadness in his voice which he tried to hide with a big smile on his face “you know you remained me of my mother a lot, though you show a hole lot more emotion that she did, she was also a very strong woman and was even tougher on me when it came to my classes” “ she tried very hard to fill in my parents shoes, I remember when I was about 6 I use to have really bad dreams and a hard time sleeping, she would try to read me these bed time stories, she did a very bad job at it but they did make me feel better, coming to think of it that was about the only time I ever saw her smile or show me any form of emotions” “ so what were your parents like?” he asked her realizing that he was giving to mush information about him self.
Sonak gazed at the young man, still fresh from the academy, staying silent for a long time before she answered. "My vacation was well needed," she finally answered, "and I actually had some fun for the first time in months." She cast him a somewhat secretive smile, but didn't press the matter. She preferred to listen to the young man telling her about his youth.
She remembered him telling her once how she reminded him of his surrogate mother. "I am certain that she did the best she could," she assured him, not certain if she was seeing a tear glinster at the corner of his eyes. Yet she stared at him when he asked her about her own parents.
"I have no recollection of my biological parents," she answered, if not somewhat sadly, "they were killed when I was three years old." She didn't want to go into that, it was tough enough to recall that only children survived that particular disaster. "But my adoptive parents are humans, and they did a marvelous job raising a Vulcan child among two Human children. It was not easy for them, but I believe the three of us turned out quite all right."

The conversation in the shuttlecraft was cut short by the appearance of a large, Somma class vessel. 'Shuttlecraft Merapi, you are ordered to dock in shuttlebay three and wait in the shuttle for security escort' came the controller's voice over the comm. Maverick and Sonak shared glances. This wasn't good. <Sonak and Maverick>
When the shuttle finally docked with some assistance from the tractor beams inside the shuttlebay, security escorted Sonak and Maverick to the briefing room behind the bridge, where they waited for a few minutes.
Eventually, Jared entered on his own. He addressed Maverick first. 'Kanz gave you permission to scout out the area and to take one other crewmember with you. That means someone suited to the job; either a co-pilot, a scientist or an engineer, depending on what you expect and what you think you can reasonably handle. It was an exercise in trust, which you seem to have failed. Not many people have the chance to lead their own little mission the same week as they join the ship. You had that chance, and I suggest you apologise for your recklessness before the Commander labels you as unfit for responsiblity. Do it, and this will not go in any records.' <Maverick>
With Maverick reprimanded and gone, Jared turned to Sonak. 'And you should know better. What were you trying to teach him? That it's acceptable to behave recklessly? Even with your extensive experience, you know you were not the best choice for that mission. Especially since you are still on medical leave and as such officially considered a liability on mission instead of an asset. You also had no business going into an asteroid field. As a doctor, I can accept that you may not have known the risks, but as a commanding officer, I cannot. Our shields cannot stop an asteroid. Even the Vesuvius would be pulverised on one impact. I know there was a distress signal, but what could a shuttle pick up? Their mail maybe? This is Kanz's first command mission, at least help her make it go smoothly.' Jared had finished his tirade. With luck, Sonak would also apologise to Kanz for her behaviour, even though Jared couldn't make her do so. His anger at their foolishness by this point had boiled off. <Sonak>
Jared left the room, leaving Sonak there on her own. Surely neither of them expected that the Ops officer wouldn't know when a shuttle had left and where it had gone? The Vesuvius had picked the signal up once the shuttle had left the asteroid field and had downloaded the logs soon after. By the time they were picked up, Jared knew exactly what they had been up to.
A few minutes later, Maverick took his position at the CNO's station next to Jared's ops station. Jared leant over and spoke in a hushed tone. 'Top marks for bravery and flying, in future just make sure you let someone know before going into an asteroid field or deviating from a mission. We are meant to help people where possible, but not by doing anything too risky.' <Maverick>

Sarah stepped into the dim engineers office. Nick hadn't left for hours and she was starting to get worried. Quivering in her hand she held a report padd completly unsure if he'd want to see it.
"What's it gots in its handses," a raspy voice broke the dim silence.
"It's a report precious," the voice continued.
"We didn't ask for a report did we?"
"No we didn't," the voice continued talking to itself.
Sarah spotted where the voice was coming from. In the corner was a figure crouched down. A single pair of eyes glowed in the dark ( a nifty enhancment from his military days) at her.
"We have a damaged shuttle in Bay 2. I thought I'd let you know," she gingerly placed the padd on the table and stepped back. The figured hopped over to the desk and grabbed the padd.
"Does they respect us? Can they not leave our shuttles alone. The commander may leave now," the voice dismissed her and she quickly left.
Carl watched her walk out of Nicks officer wide eyed and rather freaked out.
"He having another breakdown?" He asked. She shrugged and looked over her shoulder.
"I dunno but he gets like this everytime we enter a nebula," she replied.
"Did he ever get counciling after the alien took over his head?"
"Not sure, I wasn't on board at that time," she said. Now both of them were staring off at the office. Ensign Studdard walked over to them to see what was going.
"Cheif having more issues?" He asked. Both Carl and Sarah nodded in unison.
"Put me down for 04:00 hours tomorrow for when he leaves the office," Studdard smiled and walked off.
"I'll take 16:00," came a yell from the engine room. Bruce Lightfoot had to have the best hearing out there. He could follow a conversation in an another room over phaser fire if need be. "Linda puts hers down at 14:30."
~~a few hours later~~
Nick emmerged from his office at 12:00 on the dot to a crowd gathered around his door. A bunch of his crew were groaning as they handed over their latinum strips to Sarah.
"I'll be in Shuttlebay 2 if you need me," he said completly normal, no hint of craziness. Carl and Sarah looked at eachother as he walked by. Carl just shrugged then started shooing engineers back to work. Nick just walked off around the corner.
A smile spread across his face as the turbolift doors closed. ~Works every time~.

maverick sat listening to jared’s speech, he could tell that he was very angry and was trying his best not to explode, after jered was done maverick stood up and walked over to him “I understand what u are trying to say sir and I apologias but I will not stand ideally by and let people suffer if I can help them that’s not my style SIR” the young CNO replied and then walked out of the briefing room leaving Jared and sonak to there own. As he walked onto the bridge he noticed some of the crewmen steering at him, he continued to the captain’s ready room to make his formal apologies. On entry he notices she to was not in a particularly happy mood. “commander Kanz am here to apologies for my most recent actions, it was clear less and reckless, I not only endangered my life but the life of commodore sonak and the crew of this ship and fro that am truly sorry ma’am” the commander leaned back in her seat and crossed her arms over her chest and began to talk <kanz>
After she was done scolding him he made his way out only to bump into sonak making her way in. “tread lightly she’s not in a good mood” he told her as he continued on his way to his post.

During Reman's tirade, Sonak sat in silence. She hadn't known beforehand what kind of trip she'd be making with Trey, though she did agree with Reman that it hád in fact been reckless. She was no trained pilot, even though she did have a shuttle license, and she was by no means trained for this kind of flying. He was also correct in he fact that she was still on medical leave, but she found him erroneous on the fact that Trey should've taken another pilot.
From the way things looked to her, it had never been defined whom he could take and the ensign had only been trying to be thoughtful. "He was trying to keep me occupied," she retorted on Maverick's behalf, "he was trying to let me have some...fun. Sadly it turned out differently."
This time, she glared up at him, and involuntarily the commander took a small step back, not even realising he was doing it. Fury smouldered in her eyes, but only briefly. ~what right does he have, talking down on me like that~ she thought angrily ~I am his commanding officer, regardless of my current medical status~
"Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to check on that shuttle and see if I can give engineering a hand. I may be on leave, but I am not an invalid. I have two hands and a sound mind that I can put to good use, despite Hedin not yet having me cleared for command duty. I cannot just stand by and sit in my quarters twiddling my thumbs. This inactivity is what is driving me insane, I need something to do!"
Without another word or so much as a glance at her chief of operations, she swept past him, giving Trey an encouraging glance as she spotted him standing near her first officer. She stopped to hail the nearest turbolift and head towards the hangarbay, but before she could do so, Kanz beckoned her back to the readyroom.
Sighing, she walked back in and sat down, asking whether Kanz wanted to know about her most recent little adventure.
<Kanz's post fits here...she posted a minute later than me>
After the 'briefing' Sonak finally caught the turbolift she had wanted to catch, and headed down to the hangarbay. "Anything I can help you with?" she asked the nearest engineer. "If not, I will just go down to astrometrics, and work with the data we have gathered. Sensor logs were retrievable, were they not?"

L'Ola hadn't tried to shout at Trey, it had just happened. The tone of her voice wasn't exactly friendly and she had lost most of her patience over the past few weeks. Everything that she normally brushed off suddenly became the biggest problem out there.
Sonak walked in the room and sat down in one of the chairs, "I take it you will want to discuss our away mission."
Thinking about it for a moment, L'Ola slowly started to shake her head, "You know what, actually I don't at the minute. But hold that thought and I may arrange a meeting for tomorrow. I have to go check up on a few things, ok?"
"Certainly," Sonak replied, "we have a breakfast meeting at 0800 tomorrow remember? We will talk about it then, if you wish."
She walked out of the room at top speed, and straight into a turbolift. Out the other side she carried on speed walking to a place that she knew and loved for its secrecy. Only a few knew of its existence, and those few were trusted by the stressed Commander.
Surrounded by a series of maps, communications, and general guides, and finally away from work, L'Ola sat in the science access port and plotted in silence.

It had been yet another exciting day of discovery in the Medical Lab. With the help of several of the new specialists that had recently come aboard at starbase, Hedin had managed to isolate one of the primary enzymes utilized by the unknown virus sample and grow a new strain from it so as to more accurately monitor its growth process. There was still much to do before he could confirm his theory that this new virus and Rigellian fever shared the same primary components, but his hopes were certainly up.
Back in his office, he ordered a cup of darjeeling tea (one of the few Terran beverages he'd taken a distinct liking to) and went over his final reports for the day. Having already approved Sonak's return to duty, albeit on a limited basis with no command status as yet, he was beginning to feel confident that she was ready to resume full responsibilities. Then he came across a report just transmitted from Ops concerning a just-completed away mission to the asteroid belt nearby. Some disturbing conclusions had been reached by Operations Manager about the conduct of the officers in question, but as far as Hedin could tell, nothing particularly out-of-line had occurred. Maverick had simply responded to a distress call in a a situation where time was of the essence (Hedin mused that he might have well done the same), and though he had taken Sonak, who was unapproved for away duty at the time, the commodore had conducted herself well, and saved Maverick's life in the process. If anyone concerned was truely to blame for a lapse in protocol, it was Hedin himself for not having ruled on Sonak's status earlier so that her participation in an away mission would not have been stretching the regs.
Immediately, Hedin complied a brief report to be copied for the Ops Manager, XO, and CO outlining these points and further adding that to keep the commodore off duty at this point was more detrimental for everyone than allowing her to resume her position. She had proven her fitness, and it was now time to let her exercise her own restored judgment. The final decision would be up to Commander Kanz, of course, and once Starfleet was informed, they too would have their say (though their reply wouldn't affect the things here right away). Kanz could hardly argue with the CMO's recommendation, however, unless she felt the commodore's actions were endagering the ship, and there was no evidence of that. Hedin also noted that Kanz herself, though handling command as well as could be expected under the circumstances, was in need of some off-duty time. The current mission, a relatively sedate charting expedition, would be perfect for allowing everyone to adjust.
The doctor smiled warmly as he checked over the comm with their nurse about the children, who were naturally ecstatic to have their mother back. One of the twins had started calling him Doctor `Heady`, as he had trouble pronouncing `Hedin` and also because (Hedin had to admit) his head was rather large. Just being around children again was doing Hedin a world of good, and it brought back treasured memories of time spent playing with his own daughter, rest her soul. They had taken a liking to eachother fairly rapidly, and Hedin promised to visit them again should their mother allow it. After all, their kadis-kot games were becoming a fixture in their schedules.
As soon as he closed that comm channel, however, an incoming call came through. It was Nurse Jekk in the Isolation Ward just down the hall. "Doctor! She's escaped! I can't find the EMH, either, and there's..." Hedin interrupted and tried to calm things down with his usual serene tone. "Take it easy, Jekk. Try and explain slowly."
The young Bolian, who seemed prone to expect the worst, attempted to calm down with limited success. "Ms. Martens, the p-prisoner, sir, h-has escaped. The computer can't locate her, and the EMH is...just gone. She must have taken his mobile emitter..."
"Understood, Jekk. Don't panic, get Security down there and have them seal this deck off in case she's still on it. And, not to alarm you any further, but you may want to arm yourself. Hedin out."

Trey’s shift was over and he was due for a well earned rest, he left the bridge and made his way to his quarters and headed straight for his bunk, he laid there for an hour unable to get any sleep. His mind and memories sent back to his past, the little talk he had with sonak had brought up some unpleasant ones. He got him self out of bed and made his way to the holodeck “computer engage maverick training program.” He holodeck was quickly transformed into a classical Japanese dojo. He took his shoes of and walked into the room. “Welcome young maverick” a voice called from in side the dojo “master hiyate I am here to do some sparring” trey answered.
“Some thing troubles you young one?” master hiyate asked
“No sense… I could just do with some good sparing right now”
“Ok if you insist” his sense replied as he clapped his hand, maverick was quickly surrounded by students “lets see how much you have improved” he laughed
Trey through his duffel at the guy in front of him and followed trough with a round house kick to his chest sending the young man flying, he then drop down into a dragon sweep bringing the next one down, he pushed him self up with his hands moving into a spinning split kick which knock back the rest of the guys maverick then got to his feet and asked “so what do u think sense?”
“Not bad, not bat at all, lets just see how you do against a higher level” he said ad he clapped his hands a second time. Trey was once again surrounded by more fighters, this time they were armed. Trey smiled as the 1st attacked. There was no real challenge and he was able to finish them off pretty quickly “ ahh I see now, you have been keeping up with your training, now lets see how well you do against me” his sense said as he got to his feet ~this should be fun~ trey thought. The two got to the c enter of the dojo and took there stance “BEGIN!” And maverick went flying at hiyate with a kick the old sense had no problems blocking it or dodging any of his moves for that fact. Maverick took a step back to analyze the situation, he hand not laid a hit on the old man
“Is there a problem young one” the sense asked with a smile
“NO! Now stop your yapping and fight” trey said as he lunged at him, and once more he was unable to touch the old man. This had never happened before, he was always able to hit him and hit him hard but this time he could not even touch him or even get close
“Why can’t I hit you” he asked
“Because your mind is some where else, you are not thinking clearly, you are preoccupied with some thing else. Come back when you are truly ready to fight me” the old man said as he walked away from trey. Maverick left the holodeck more rattled than he went in but the work out did make him tired, and he feel asleep before his head even hit the pillow.

"No Ma'am, nothing you can help me with here. The shuttle only needs some minor repairs, most is done already." "And the sensor data?" Sonak asked. A smile appeared on the face of the engineer. "All recovered Ma'am, hope we can find more information whats going on in this area in them." "Thank you, ensign." Sonak replied and turned around going to astrometrics to analyze the data. <A little later in astrometrics> Fox was working on an algorithm to filter out the ghost images, the sensors were recording till engineering had fixed it. So far it was looking good, but still not done. Behind him he heard the doors slide open and turned around to see who entered. He saw Sonak walk in and go to one of the consoles "Ah you're back again." he said smiling. "Found something?" <tag Sonak>

"Did I find something?" Sonak echoed, a small smile playing around her lips. "Indeed I did, at least I believe I did."
The Vulcan beckoned her chief of science over. "First I have some good news; Hedin has sent me a message telling me he deems me fit for command duty. Of course Kanz will have to approve, as well as Starfleet Command, but that aside."
Enthusiastically, she loaded up her data. "Look at this." She pointed at the dense cluster of stars that they had been examining. "See anything odd?"
She watched as Fox made an effort to peer at the screen and filter out the oddities. When he shook his head, she changed the magnification. "Look again," she urged him, then when he didn't move fast enough she pointed them out. "None of them are singular systems. Most of them are binary systems, even with satelites orbiting, but look at this."
Again she changed the magnification, until a single system became visible. "This is what is causing the disturbances in this region." She beamed with pride and excitement, totally ignoring her usual sense of emotional control. "A triangular system!"
<Fox, care to respond?>
The two of them bowed over the data on the triangular system, but after a while, the technobabble went way beyond Sonak. "I shall leave you to ponder over this," she suggested, "I am going to sickbay." She winked at her science chief. "I am having this craving for certain foods again, and I have not been feeling well."
Leaving a stunned Fox behind, she took a lively walk down to sickbay, where she practically hugged her chief medical officer. Nobody would dash her good spirits today, not even Kanz as Sonak had completely forgotten about their breakfast date over the excitement of finding the triangular system.
Quietly, Sonak explained to Hedin how she'd been feeling during the moring and about her cravings for odd foodstuffs she'd normally completely ignore. "Am I right?" she finally asked, smiling brightly at the El-Aurian, who had to move around four enthusiastic children that tried to get him to play with them.
"I see they have attached themselves to you," Sonak continued, "at least that will give Jatan a chance to get some work done as well. With Lily, our usual nanny being on leave, Jatan is really having a tough time getting things done. Our vacation was great, we really had a great time, but I believe he is glad to be back home."

Leaving a stunned Fox behind, Sonak took a lively walk down to sickbay, where she practically hugged her chief medical officer.
Hedin, who had brought the children to his office in order to better supervise them when he had been called back to Sickbay to tend an injured officer, tried not to wear his increasing concern on his sleeve. Not only had the injured officer, Lt. Jovanka from Transporter Room 2, been attacked and suffered a nasty head concussion as a result, but it was the first sign of where Kate had gone, and that she was up to no good. Fortunately, the transporter console had already been locked out soon after Security had been alerted to the prisoner's escape. Kate would have to find some other way of eluding recapture, and hopefully several guards would be waiting when she did.
Now, he had to deal with the potentially hazardous effects of this nebula they were exploring. It seemed as though many of the signs Hedin had informed the staff about in the mission briefing were starting to occur. Seemingly isolated reports of minor ailments, including freak changes in metabolism rates, were cropping up increasingly within the past couple of hours, and Sonak's comments pointed to another possible instance of infection. For all he knew, perhaps Kate's sudden volatility was due to the same influence, though such volatility was pratically standard behaviour from her. He quickly ran a diagnostic scan onthe commodore as the children scampered about underfoot. Nurse Gale soon came by to try and quiet them, but Sonak motioned otherwise and exercised her own special motherly skills.
"Remind me to meet with your husband later, by the way; I'd like his professional opinion on the results of the latest tests on an unknown virus sample from the starbase that I've been analyzing. Your opinion would be most welcome, too. And I'm glad to hear your holiday went smoothly, ma'am. From what Mister Martens tells me, the tropical air planetside does wonders for the body. I just hope that remedy isn't rendered powerless by the effects of this nebula." He went on to detail recent events.

"I doubt it doctor," Sonak smiled, "so what is your verdict, am I healthy?" Of course, she knew she was but she could tell something was worrying her medical chief. "Spill it out," she finally said, her smile disappearing, "something is bothering you, and I can tell it is not my well being. I know I am not ill, nor coming down with one virus or the other and I have just returned from a vacation you ordered." The Vulcan watched him closely, lifting up one of the younger twins on her lap as the child vied for her attention. The other three kept dancing around Nurse Gale, who seemed to be happy to entertain them. "You mentioned something about a virus, is this ship in danger? Is the crew in danger?" She gave him a worried glance. "Jatan should be coming on duty in an hour, you should discuss it with him too, as you already said you wanted to. However I too am a doctor, tell me what have you found, or have not found?" <Hedin.....you missed my point >

Many Captains run their ships from the sidelines, with the First Officer putting all orders into practice. This was something L'Ola used as reasoning for not spending a lot of time with the crew. The truth was, she couldn't face it. Everything seemed to be falling apart. Again.
She read another report, added her signature onto the end to signal her approval, and dumped it on the growing pile next to her. It was too much. Being both extremely short and sat cross-legged on the floor meant that she was more vulnerable to certain events. Including a report landslide.
Katia Amasova was wandering round the corridors, enjoying some well deserved down time all by herself. She had nothing particular planned, but kind of felt like playing a game on the holodeck. "Computer, locate Commander Kanz"
"Commander Kanz is in her quarters"
A mischievous grin appeared on her face. This would be good fun, and a great chance to relax her friend a little.
Just a few minutes later she was outside the acting Captain's quarters. There was a shriek from inside, but it sounded almost... happy? She let herself in.
Inside, Katia saw what was perhaps the biggest mess she had ever seen. And sat in the middle of the pile of clutter with her hands covering her head was L'Ola.
"Oh, hey Kat" she said, half laughing, "You know, Lucy told me this place was getting too cluttered and I should tidy, but I didn't really believe her."
Katia smiled, "Been having fun then?"
"Yeah well it's weird. When the first pile toppled over it felt terrible, but by the time the fourth one gave way I just had to laugh."
"Tell you what, how about we sort all this junk out tomorrow and go have some more fun now?"
L'Ola looked directly into Kat's eyes and saw a slight sparkle, "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"If you're thinking super soakers I am"
The two friends headed off to the holodeck looking forward to getting absolutely drenched. Things weren't perfect, but L'Ola had finally figured out she might as well enjoy the stupidity of everything.
