A few days had passed since the incident with the energy being called Nicodemus. Sonak had resumed her duties on the bridge, after being released from sickbay. Doctor Reckus had had quite a job on getting her settled and calmed down after her first couple of hours sleep. She insisted that someone stay with her as she didn't want to be alone, nor was anyone allowed to lower the brightness of the ilumination as she did not want to be in the dark.
However, as each day passed, she was feeling much better, and finally Jatan had released her from sickbay. Her children had been overjoyed to see their mother again, and in good health. Though Sonak still felt anxious in the darkness and avoided small spaces as much as possible. Unfortunately, she had to brave the turbolift, but after a few rides up and down from each end of the ship to another, she felt confident to step back onto the bridge.
She cast a small smile at Meylor, who had recently been promoted, then saw a new face at the tactical console. A Vulcan woman, she noted and walked up to the woman. "Greetings," she started, "I believe I must apollogize for not being able to welcome you aboard sooner. I am Commodore Sonak, commanding officer of this fine vessel. You must be Ensign Bethany Hill."

(OOC: Yes, I am the guest Sonak mentioned)
Commander Doug Branson walked quickly across Starbase Bellicose, with his assistant, Master Chief Petty Officer Jack Grant, at his side. Jack was somewhat larger than he was: 6'2" as compared to Doug's 6'0" Jack's black hair with streaks of gray had almost a sheen on it that reflected the light, while Doug's brown hair did not. Jack was more broad than Doug's thin frame. The two strode confidently across the Starbase.
Their destination was the Somma-Class USS Vesuvius-A. Doug had never seen the Class in person, so this inspection would be interesting. He reviewed the specs on a PADD as he went. Multi-vector Assault Mode configuration, with a pair of nacelles on each module. An intriguging phase cloak as well. This would be interesting.
Doug and Jack approach the umbilical to the Vesuvius. Characteristically, a young red-shirted Officer stopped them.
Officer: Hold it. May I have you names, sir?
Doug: Commander Doug Branson and Master Chief Petty Officer Jack Grant, Starfleet Corps of Engineers. We should be on the approved list.
Officer: Ah yes, indeed you are. You may continue.
The Officer stepped aside and they continued. As they headed towards Engineering, Doug noted mistakes being made, with Jack noting them on a PADD
Doug: Crewman using a plasma torch where a laser welder is needed. Would make for an imperfect seal. Make a note of it, Jack.
Jack: Yes, Commander.
Doug: Does the gravity seem a little off to you?
Doug pulled out a tricorder.
Doug: Ah yes, 5% above normal. Note that too.
They continued, noting a couple more things. They entered a turbolift.
Doug: Deck 16.
They arrived at the Deck, and entered Engineering. Doug looked at another PADD, containing the bio and image of the Chief Engineer. Doug identified him, and they walked over.
Doug: Commander Martens?
Martens: Yes?
Doug: Commander Doug Branson, Starfleet Corps of Engineers' Inspections Office. This is my Assistant, Master Chief Petty Officer Jack Grant. We'll be inspecting your Warp Engines and Phase Cloak during this next mission, and everything else about Engineering too. And, oh yes, Jack? ::Doug took the PADD:: Here are some procedural or equipment errors we found walking here.
He extended the PADD.#nosmileys

After being on duty for a while now, Bethany looked up and saw the Commanding Officer coming towards her.
She introduced herself as " Commodore Sonak" Commanding office of this fine ship and you must be Ensign Bethany Hill
"Yes I am", "Nice to meet you finally after everything that has happened aboard the starbase.
"I just transfered from the USS BLACKTULIP fine ship to serve on. Elron being the commanding officer. I look forward to serving you and this ship to the best of my abilities its a might fine ship I like it I hope to serve this ship for a long time as I can with my 3 children that I'm raising alone.
Oh and the Wngineering Inspector is on board. I also checked his profile and something is bothering me about him. I don't think he is who he says he is. Though that may not be it. I think that a couple of my security personel should keep how would you say "TABS" but no to interfere unless other wise.

After meeting with the Commanding officer she excused herself from the bridge. Bethany had just remembered that she had to go down to sickbay for her physical that is required for newly transfered officers.
Bethany entered sickbay. "I'm Ensign Hill I'm here for my physical.
She looked around and found the doctor tending to another injured officer.
"I will be with you in a minute Ensign".

"And so we're back to whatever kind of normal we have then?" Jason had been on the Starbase during the commotion, and had had to be filled in.
"Apparently so. But for how long, I have no idea." L'Ola checked through yet another diagnostic list. She'd got the message that everything would run okay about ten minutes ago, on the other hand if any minor failure led to a big failure she would not be popular.
Jason on the other hand had got a little bored and was sending messages to his friends around the ship. "What on earth?"
"Don't tell me something's gone wrong." L'Ola looked over at his console and sighed, "Jay, do you ever do any actual work?"
He shrugged. "This is called interdepartmental research. And I bet it means I know something you don't know."
Trying to pretend she wasn't interested wouldn't work, "I'm sure you know lots of things that I don't know. Which particular thing were you thinking of?"
Jason pointed at the screen. News of current happenings in Engineering came flooding in. L'Ola wasn't quite sure how to react. Relieved that it wasn't happening in her department. Pleased that it would add a little variety. Scared that it would probably really really annoy Nick.
The door to the lab opened. Katia peered round the corner.
L'Ola looked over and saw her, "Congratulations on finally being released from sickbay."
Katia grinned and walked in, "I have to tell you that I'm on restricted duty for a few days."
"Maybe we should check that with sickbay." Jason suggested."
"That's fine. Are you on duty now?"
"Please, I'm bored out of my brain."
"Well in that case you two can finish these checks for me."
Jason went into a mock sulk at the idea of actually having to do work before they had left the Starbase.
"Of course you could go to check out things on the Bridge if you prefer..."
She got the desired and expected effect of Katia and Jason settling down to work. The latter avoided the Bridge like the plague, although L'Ola still couldn't work out exactly who it was he didn't want to run into.
On her way to the Bridge she passed Bethany, "Been to check in with the Boss?"
Bethany nodded, "Yes, now I have to go to sickbay for a physical."
L'Ola pulled a face, "Rather you than me. Good luck." she said, jokingly.
Walking onto the Bridge she went straight over to a science console to start picking up data from other parts of the system. Well, that and start reading a message from Lucy away from the prying eyes of her fellow scientists...

Jatan watched as a Vulcanoid female entered sickbay. "Give me a minute ensign," he called after she had stated her name and business. He finished feeding the younger twins, and handed them over to Ortegez, a junior med tech who sometimes cared for the children when both he and Sonak were too busy.
He rubbed the remains of food from his hands (~fussy eaters those two~ he thought idly) and walked towards the young woman. "A physical?" he asked, rubbing the back of his head in thought, "oh yes you are the new security officer. Please follow me."
Several minutes later, the ensign was sweating with exhaustion. Jatan wasn't one to slack on his physicals and he demanded that everyone try their hardest on their physicals. "Well done ensign," he said admiringly, "you seem to be in excellent health. Your record states you had a difficult time giving birth to your children. Please bring them in after your duty shift, I want to have a look at them."
He motioned for her to hop off the biobed. "But you are in excellent health, you may return to your duties now." With that, he dismissed her.
~bridge~
The Vesuvius was moving ever so slowly, as Andrei Marill steered her out of spacedock. "Let us just test her and go around the starbase at the slowest speed possible," Sonak ordered, "we do not want to overburden our engines, not after what recently happened to them. Bridge to engineering, prepare to give our engines a testrun at slowest speed possible."
She gazed out the main screen and saw an object coming at the station at high speed. "What is that?"
"Ma'am, receiving a distress signal," Meylor cried from OPS, "am trying to clear it up now, I can hardly understand who it is from. Give me a minute."
"A minute commander," Sonak agreed.

ooc: ok we're just gonna save the Majesty from being pancaked for a bit, until the fleet mission gets going and we can do our own disappearing act in oh, a week or two m'kay?
At navigation, Marill pointed at the screen as he jumped to his feet. "It's the Majesty!" he cried, turning to face them, "and she's going at the starbase at high velocity."
Behind her, Sonak heard Meylor confirm that the distress was coming from the Majesty. "They were about to launch a vessel," he announced, "and the distress signal was cut off prematurely. Ma'am I am also reading flying objects around the Majesty and I am getting distorted readings. Some seem to be coming from the future, others from the past. I would advise caution."
Besider her, Fox nodded his approval of Meylor's words. "Prepare to go to multi vector assault mode. Engineering, we are going to need our tractor beam, and possibly our phase cloak."
Sonak nodded. "Meylor, can you get a message out to the Majesty?"
"I can try ma'am," the Bajoran replied, "they have no power."
"Try anyway." She felt the ship shudder as it split up in three parts. Fox had already left the bridge to take command of the second module. Nick, as usual, would take the third module. "Co-ordinate with the other two modules. We wish to snare the Majesty in our tractor beam to brake her speed, but we do not wish to rip her apart. Be aware of the flying objects, whatever they are. Once we have the Majesty, engage cloaks and we get her to safe distance from those objects if possible."
Sonak turned to the main screen. "USS Majesty, this is Commodore Sonak aboard the USS Vesuvius-A. You may experience some jolting but we are going to try to slow down your speed. It would be a shame to see such a marvelous vessel make a dent in Bellicose station. I repeat we are going to try to slow you down, do you copy?"

Nick looked down at the padd and raised an eyebrow. Slowly he scanned down the list and chuckled at a few. He reached the gravity issue and looked up.
"You're not serious are you? I mean come on I design the ship and I make the one deck I work on the same gravity as home. Home being Tandar IV. Look around, are you hearing any complaints about the gravity? Hey Sarah the gravity feel off to you?"
Sarah poked her head around the corner and shrugged, "No, why? Uptight beurocracy after you again?"
Nick just smiled and looked back at the Commander. Placed the padd back in the hands of the Master Cheif. "Commander, Chief," he said and walked away at the beeping of his combadge.
"Any protocol disrepencies right now I'd ignore if I were you. This crew has been through hell and back so I'd watch yourself," Sarah said walking by, a hyper spanner tucked under her arm.
~Tertiary Module~
Nick sat back in the chair, it was beginning to feel comfortable for once. Must be the leather finally breaking in. He flicked up a control panel and pressed a button.
"Bridge we're ready to roll."

The famous blue glitter apprehanded Daniel and transported him and his belongings onto the Vesuvius who was slowly swirling around the starbase.
He greeted the officer who'd transported him aboard. ''Who might you be?'' he asked.
''Lieutenant Daniel McVaye, I've been assigned as this ship's counsellor,'' Daniel said looking at the man, who nodded.
Taking his bag he exited the transporterroom and went to find his quarters. Daniel strolled along the corridors of the USS Vesuvius-A, with a funny feeling in his stomach.
Must be the nerves, he thought, nothing to worry about, everything's going to work out just fine.
He'd found his quarters, and the doors gently hissed open. They were the ordinary sort of crewmember quarters. Daniel'd never had problem settling in.
After putting down his bag and drinking a glass of ice cold water he stretched his arms, yawned, and went to put on his uniform.
Softly humming Daniel had stepped into the turbolift, which took him to the bridge. He exhaled, and stepped onto the bridge as he exited the elevator.
He look around and saw a Vulcan female in the middle of the bridge providing the other officers with orders.
The view screen showed a rappidly approaching Majesty. ''That's not looking very good,'' Daniel mumbled.
He decided to wait, not wanting to disturb the captain during the stressing encounter.
Daniel leaned against the wall of the bridge, waiting untill the situation'd been cleared up.

Off: Hey everyone, I'm Marine Captain Danny Lรถhnen and I'm here as a guest officer from the USS Tigershark-B for the duration of the joint mission. I know most of you from the General Boards or the Academy, but thought it useful to introduce myself to those of you I don't know. Anyway, I'm looking forward to simming with you on this mission. It's always nice to get to know a new crew. Cya on the ship.
DL The shuttle docked nice and easy in the suttle bay of the USS Vesuvius A. Cheerfully, Danny grabbed his backpack and stepped out of the shuttle, happily saying hello to some crewmembers that were working there. "Hey, could you tell me where Commodore Sonak is?" One of the crewmembers extended his hand. "Welcome aboard sir, Commodore Sonak is most likely on the Bridge." "Thanks Ensign, I'll report in immediately. I'll be seeing you around."
Danny was excited. He had never been on another ship than the Tigershark before, so he was very curious as to what this crew would be like. He was also glad to see his one-time fellow Cadet L'Ola Kanz again. It would be good to serve with her again.
A few minutes later, the turbolift halted at Deck 1, the Bridge and the doors slid open. Commodore Sonak looked up as Danny entered. "Marine Captain Danny Lรถhnen reporting for Duty Commodore." "Welcome aboard Captain," Sonak replied, and motioned to a vacant console on the main bridge. "Could you please take on sensors? We are trying to prevent the Majesty from crashing into Bellicose station...." "Aye Ma'am" Danny turned around and took his seat behind the designated station. He took a short moment adjusting the controls to his personal preferences and did a sensor sweep of the area.
The Majesty was closing in at an unhealthy velocity. It came closer and closer, or was it the Vesuvius closing in? It was all happening so fast that it was difficult to tell. Danny turned around. "Commodore, the Majesty is closing in fast. Estimated impact in two minutes. Transferring to the screen"
The big forward viewscreen which until recently had shown an ever growing image of the USS Majesty now showed a sensor schematic. There was no question about it. The USS Majesty was on a direct collision course with the Starbase and at their present velocity, evasive manoeuvres would probably not help them.

Branson: Well then, we'll focus on the ships systems then. And we'll overlook that gravity discrepancy for that.
Sarah left them as she continued with her duties
Branson: Ah, here's an oppurtunity we've been looking for. Jack, install the monitoring program in the Computer, so that we can keep an eye on the rest of the ship. Use the overrides if you need to.
Grant: Yes, Commander.
Branson went over to a secluded corner of Engineering.
Branson: Computer, open an encrypted channel to Vice-Admiral Hayes, Starfleet Command. Use the following encryption protocols.
He entered a complicated algorithm. In a few moments, Hayes appeared.
Hayes: Report.
Branson: We've found the oppurtunity we've been looking for, sir. They're about to engage MVAM and possibly the phase cloak.
Hayes: Excellent. Keep your eyes open on this one, Commander, and assess the possible risks.
Branson: Aye, sir. Branson out.

The second someone mentioned a job to do, L'Ola closed down the things she was sorting through and switched to scientific sensors. The chances of her being able to do anything were slim, but there was still a chance.
Unfortunately, things went the way of the odds, and she couldn't see anything useful. But she kept monitoring the situation just in case.
L'Ola looked up as one of the doors opened, an officer that she did not recognise walked in. She made a mental note to look him up later.
The door opened again, and she was slightly startled to see Danny walk through it. It was a little strange remembering that she had actually been through training before joining the Vesuvius crew.
From her position she could see clearly everything that happened on the Bridge, but she was hidden from view in most directions.
As soon as Danny had reported the Majesty's status to Sonak, L'Ola called over. "Marine Captain? Sounds impressive." She tried to make her voice loud enough for him to hear, but not too loud. Social activity in an emergency situation was not highly regarded.
"One minute to impact." Meylor shouted.
*Typical* L'Ola thought *One of the few times I stay on this module and we're the ones on a collision course. Well I hope someone can do something.*

"Engage tractorbeams," Sonak ordered, "and keep an eye out for those flying bits, whatever they are. Steady as she goes, let us gradually divert our course away from the starbase."
She caught motion at the corner of her eyes. Another new crewmember had arrived. "Mr McVaye, welcome aboard," she said, "I am sorry for not giving you a more proper welcome, we are having a rather dire situation on our hands."
<sorry folks best I can do right now.....see y'all back monday! Happy holidays>

Short after Fox sat down in the chair of the second module he felt the ship shake a bit.
"We are loose from the other modules." "Alright." Fox answered "Show the Majesty on the main screen and target tractor beam on the ship."
Fox ordered to open a channel to the primairy module. "Awaiting your command Ma'am." he said.
Not much later Sonak ordered to engage the tractor beams. "We have it." an officer on the 2nd module bridge said.
Already some loose objects were shearing past the module almost hitting it. All three modules engaged their cloak and pulled the Majesty out of its current course slowing it down.

Daniel had carefully observed the crew and especially her captain handeling the situation.
He returned Sonak's brief introduction words with a friendly smile.
The Majesty was slowing down, yet the Vesuvius began trembling slightly.
''How's she holding,'' Sonak asked. ''Fluctuating ma'am, but holding so far.''
=/\= Sonak to engineering, reroute auxilary power to the tractor beam. =/\=
=/\= Aye ma'am. =/\=
Daniel had always admired the Vulcan way of taking care of stressing situations, though never understood it. He had never been able to understand that a living being could live without experiencing emotions. That robotic, unnatural way of living could never be good.
But that was a discussion he'd always saved to have with a Vulcan. Perhaps he'd get the chance to it this time.
Deciding that proper introduction to the captain could wait, Daniel turned away from the wall and exited the bridge.
It was a miracle he'd even found it in the first place. He'd definately had to study the ship's schematics, and find his way on the Vesuvius.
The hectic moment for the other crewmembers was perfect for the counsellor to relax, they'd come to him afterwards, or not at all, which was the case most of the time.
He softly whistled as he found his way back to his quarters, where he sank down on the bench. Daniel'd had to get up very early to make it in time for his transfer to the Vesuvius, so he could do for a nap.
But instead he replicated the Vesuvius's schematics, and begand studying them while enjoying a hot, steaming cup of thea.

At last, the Majesty was caught in three tractorbeams, and slowed the ship down to a stop. They had to tread carefully for trying to brake the ship too fast could rip her apart, but too slowly would allow the ship to crash into the station.
It was obvious by now that the crew of the Majesty had not heard their messages, but they would hopefully feel that the ship had slowly come to a full stop. When they were sure the ship had lost all her momentum, Sonak ordered all modules to release their tractorbeams.
"Majesty is severely damaged," Meylor announced from OPS, "and their communications are down it appears. Also, I am receiving a message that the USS Scavenger has disappeared from sensors."
Sonak frowned. "Send a message to Bellicose station to care for the Majesty. Order the modules to come back together, we are going to team up with whoever else is going to search for the Majesty. I saw we have three passengers aboard?"
Meylor nodded. "Yes ma'am. Marine Captain Lรถhnen has already introduced himself. Further we have Commander Doug Branson and an aide, and Lieutenant McVaye, a counselor."
"Have them all meet my in my readyroom in 5 minutes," Sonak ordered, and walked into her readyroom.

Nik was in the midst of trying to communicated an acknowledgement to the Vesuvius, that any help would be helpful and that they should also take note of the rather large piece of planetary fragment that was also hurtling towards the starbase but would not be showing on any sensors yet. When suddenly the Majesty de-celerated very quickly, he knew the Commodore was working fast he only hoped that he could warn them about the planetary fragement in time before it got them both.......
OOC:
Just a little twist cant remember if I did mention the fragement to Sonak or not.. but it does have some strange properties which makes any convenitally ways of slowing it down (tractor etc..) rather impossible...

Branson moved over to the station Jack was using.
Branson: How's it looking?
Jack: Just fine, for now. From what I can tell, the plan is to engage the cloak once they grab the Majesty.
Branson glanced over at the compartment in the Warp Core where the cloaking device rested and then looked black.
Branson: Any trouble getting the monitoring program in?
Jack: Some. But once I entered the override codes I had no trouble.
Branson: Excellent. Make sure to note anything unusual.
Soon, the cloak had been engaged. Branson and Jack went to work, watching everything.
Jack: We've got a 0.1 phase variance in the cloaking matrix.
Branson: That would explain the 10% surge in its energy matrix. The system is having to compensate for the variance by providing additional power. Note them both.
A few minutes later, the modules were back together.
Meylor: =/\= Bridge to Commander Branson. Commodore Sonak would like to see you and Master Chief Grant in her Ready Room in 5 minutes. =/\=
Branson: =/\= Understood. Branson out =/\=
In a few minutes, Commander Martens returned to Engineering.
Branson: Welcome back, Commander. We appreciated the oppurtunity to inspect the Phase Cloak in action. However, we did note too discrepancies.
Jack extended the PADD, and Martens took it.
Branson: Now, if you'll excuse us, the Commodore has asked to see us.
Branson and Grant went to Deck 1. After the Ready Room door opened, they entered.
Branson: Greetings, Commodore. As you probably already know, I am Commander Doug Branson, Starfleet Corps of Engineers' Inspections Division, and my assistant, Master Chief Petty Officer Jack Grant.

=/\= Meylor to lieutenant McVaye, report into commodore Sonak's office in five minutes, Meylor out. =/\=
Daniel raised his eyebrows, and put down the padd he'd been studying. He slowly got up, and yawned in the process. He didn't really feel like talking to an emotionless Vulcan at the moment, but went anyway.
He took a deep breath, and put a bright smile on his face as he chimed at Sonak's office. ''Enter,'' her voice sounded.
Daniel stepped inside, and saw a commander sitting opposite the Vulcan commodore. ''Meet Jack Branson, inspector of the engineering corps,'' Sonak introduced.
''Nice to meet you,'' Daniel said kindly, shaking Branson's hand. Branson'd just nodded.
''I'm commodore Sonak,'' Sonak said raising from her chair, Daniel shook her hand. ''Daniel Felix McVaye ma'am.'' ''Have a seat, lieutenant,'' the commodore said pointing at a chair.
''Ehm, actually ma'am,'' Daniel began as he sat down, ''I would prefer it if you'd just call me Daniel.'' ''And why would that be?'' she asked a bit surprised.
''I am the ship's psychologist, or counsellor, if you prefer. I'm not here to give orders, or to be ordered, I here to be the listening ear for those that need that. It simply doesn't work to have people come and talk to you, and then have them looking up to you because of your rank. I wish that not happen,'' Daniel explained clearly.
''I think you do have a point,'' Sonak said, ''but when you are on duty, I wish to see those pips on your collar.''
''Aye ma'am,'' Daniel sighed, not feeling all too happy about that.

Nick let out a sigh as he sat at his desk. He glanced at the padds that Brason had given him. He rubbed the back of his neck and tryed to decide which way he should next procede. Pressing a button on his desk he called in his two assistants.
"Sarah, Carl. Meet me in my office pronto."
Moments later the two walked through the office doors to see their chief leaning back in his chair, a serious look on his face. They both looked at each other in concern and took their seats. He tossed a couple padds across the table to them.
"You're not serious. How did we miss that?" Carl asked looking over the list of discrepancies.
"I don't know Carl, how did they happen? The cloak matinence was your juristiction. So help me I'm not going to put up with slacking this time 'round. If something like this comes up again you'll be lucky if you get to scrub the plasma conduits. Got it?"
"Yes sir," Carl responded in shock. He glanced at Sarah who looked just as surprised then back at Nick. Their chief had never been this way before.
"Good you're dismissed. Sarah stay put," Carl hastily exited the room.
"Sir?" She asked.
"They are supposed to take note of protocol problems. We can't have people patching holes with the wrong tools. Now I want to recomend you to Starfleet for a CEO position but you gotta watch yourself. Keep tight watch over the matinence crews, get the diagnostics working over time. Lets catch these problems before they do."
"What about their monitoring programs?" she asked.
"Don't worry about it, if you do your job the way it's supposed to be done they won't be a problem. Dismissed."

"Lighten up Mr McVaye," Sonak said softly, "while on the bridge you will be addressed by rank. What you please during your own office hours is your own affair." She turned to Branson. "I was unaware that we would be getting an engineering inspector aboard. I trust all is in order, but I must inform you that the Vesuvius has been through quite an ordeal recently. An energy being drained this ship of all her power and we have only just been able to restore it."
She rummaged through a stack of PADD's and smiled as she found what she was looking for, then handed the item to Branson. "THere you go," she said, "a list of the systems that had been severely affected."
Sonak turned back to McVaye. "Mr McVaye, I would like you to start crew evaluations as soon as possible. We have a serious mission ahead of us, it involves tracking down a Starfleet vessel that has gone lost."
Just then Marine Captain Lohnen entered and Sonak waved him over and invited him to take a seat. "Welcome Mr Lohnen," she sat as the surprised marine sat down. "Mr Lohnen, we are facing a rescue operation with possible alien threat. I would like you to work with my Chief of Security, Ensign Bethany Hill. The two of you are tasked to investigate whether the Scavegner has encountered enemies of the Federation, or if they have any personal enemies in general. Any questions?"
She gazed from each man to the other, then nodded. "Very well, there will be a senior staff meeting in an hour. I want you all to be present."

Branson smirked slightly when the Commodore informed him of the fact that she was unaware that he would be onboard.
Branson: That was no accident, Commodore. I planned it that way. I intended the inspection to be a complete surprise, thus you would in no way be prepared for it. I needed to be able to observe this ship in its natural state. I have warned the COs of the ships I inspected in the past, but that created an artificial condition, as they got their ship working at top condition before I got there. This provided somewhat false information to me, as the ships often slacked off once again after I left.
He looked over the PADD he had been given.
Branson: And as for the affected systems, that didnt explain quite a few discrepancies I have found. Your phase cloak is not listed here, yet I found a flaw there. Its energy matrix is on this list, but that would explain underperformance, not the overperformance I have found. Procedural errors among the Engineering staff I noted are also not accounted for. But given stress, some of those can be overlooked, for now.

"Why that is very considerate of you commander, Sonak replied, stressing his rank to denote that he was on the border of being out of line. "I would have it though that you do not keep my crew from their work while you perform your inspections. You may be authorised to perform them, but please bear in mind who the commanding officer is here. You are not to order my crew into anything, buy you may request. Politely."
Then the intercom went off. "Mommy?" a tiny voice was heard over the intercom, "mommy, Uncle Jatan wants you to come down to sickbay."
Surprised, she glanced at the men sitting before her. "That is my daughter," she explained, "Doctor Reckus is their godfather though he is like a father to them. Mr Branson if you are interested I could take you down to sickbay where you can inspect the systems there, while I talk to Doctor Reckus."
The inspector nodded, and after she had dismissed the other two men, the two of them headed down to sickbay. While the man walked off, Sonak walked into the doctor's office. "You needed to talk to me?"
Jatan smiled and nodded, a mischievous look in his eyes. He took her by the shoulders and gently pressed her down in a chair, while the twins were standing to the side, smirking. "I believe I have waited long enough now," he said softly, while looking down at her, "sufficient time has passed, and your children need a real father." He dropped down on one knee and took her right hand in both of his. "My dear Sonak, you know my feelings towards you, you are the only woman who has been able to look into my soul, and without you I would only be half a man. Would you marry me?"
Sonak sat stunned. She had assumed that he had called her down for an emergency, this was the last thing she had expected. Then she smiled, and bent forward to kiss him. "Yes," she whispered, "Yes, I would." She pulled him to his feet and walked into his embrace. "We will celebrate this tonight, and we will form the marriage bond then," she said, "and announce our intention to the crew soon. I have to get back to the inspector. He is waiting outside, in main sickbay." She gave him a final hug and the older twins bounded around her as she walked back to Branson.
"Ready?" she asked.

"Aye Ma'am," Danny said and made a few notes on his PADD while the Commodore talked to a few other officers about their roles in the next mission. When the "Dismissed!" came, Danny stood up and left the Briefing Room. So, he was to work with Ensign Hill. He had heard her name a few times, but he hadn't heard her being mentioned in any specific context, nor had he ever met her in person. Well, time to get acquainted. "Computer, locate Ensign Bethany Hill" #Ensign Hill is in her office# "Right, with all those modules flying around everywhere, where could that be?" #Unable to process, please restate question# Danny hated talking computers almost as much as he hated spiders. Almost, but not quite. Starfleet used the talking semi-intelligent computers for nearly everything. Danny only saw them as a necessary evil. He walked down the hallway and finally met another crewmember, a nervous looking Ensign. "Ensign, could you tell me where Ensign Hill's quarters are please?" The Ensign, seeing his green Marine uniform snapped to salute and then pointed Danny to the Security Office.
- Security Office -
Danny pressed the door chime and a voice from inside told him he could enter. The doors slid open and Danny entered a well-kept Security office. Behind the desk sat a young Ensign. "Good afternoon Ensign, I'm Marine Captain Lรถhnen. Commodore Sonak asked me to work with you to find out every possible detail about the Scavenger's disappearance."

Danny had gone to his quarters to analyse the data. He had been offered a chair and a desk in Ensign Hill's Security office, but he preferred having an office to himself. There wasn't any office space available at this time, so he had made arrangements for a desk and some spare computer consoles to be sent to his quarters, which would now also serve as office space.
On his console was a large list of species hostile to the Feeration. Danny had already been able to narrow the list down to 875 hostile species instead of the two milion that popped up in his initial query. None of them had come into contact with the USS Scavenger in the last five years, so this was a dead end.
"Computer, I need a list of the mission logs of the USS Scavenger from the last 10 missions." #Affirmative# A list of logs popped up and Danny patiently started reading them. "This is gonna take a while," he said absently as he pured another cup of coffee from the coffeepot. He never ordered replicated coffee if he could avoid it and lickily, he had remembered to bring his coffee machine with him. It tasted so much better. Danny caught himself ruminating about hand-made coffee versus replicated coffee and realized that 5 minutes had passed without him doing any actual reading. He sighed and got back to work.
- 25 minutes later -
Suddenly all hell broke loose. The Red Alert sirens began wailing, red lamps started flashing and Commodore Sonak's voice came over the Intercom.
=^=Senior staff to the Bridge immediately=^=
Danny dropped the PADDS he was reading and hurried to the nearest turbolift, dodging other hurried crewmembers as he went. The turbolift doors slid open and Danny barked, "Bridge!" The doors slid shut and the endless ride to the Bridge began. In reality, it wasn't more than a minute, but it seemed so much longer. Danny had never been very patient with elevators, computers and other mechanical things, but especially during emergency situations did it aggravate him more and more. Finally the doors slid open and Danny entered the Bridge.
The Bridge was buzzing with activity. All consoles were manned and everyone was yelling sensor reports, system summaries and Starfleet communiques at each other. Ensign Hill had already manned the Tactical Station and Danny joined her there. After all, two Tactical Officers often see more than one. Commodore Sonak sat in the Captain's chair. She seemed undisturbed by all the turmoil on the Bridge, quietly assimilating all the reports of her officers, making tactical decisions and giving orders accordingly.
Danny approached the Commodore. "What's going on Commodore? Why the Red Alert? There's no immediate danger that our sensors can detect" Commodore Sonak turned to him. "You're right Captain, but we do have an emergency. We've lost an entire Andorian colony and Starfleet has put all vessels in the vicinity on Red Alert." At that moment, Ensign Hill interrupted. "Excuse me Ma'am, but the missing colony is also the exact location where the USS Scavenger has last been seen."
