~ This post is a duplicate reply to the one on Starbase Conqueror, and should be placed just BEFORE the Vesuvius leaves the starbase ~
The Vesuvius emitted a slight hum as her engines powered up for departing from Starbase Conqueror and to Bellicose.
Holding to the shadows, Tepes smiled in satisfaction. He had fed. It would be hours before he would feel the need again, longer if he stayed in some of his other forms. Still, since more and more residents of Starbase Conqueror were becoming aware of his presence, he decided on starting elsewhere, and the departure of the starship before him was beckoning.
His cape again in hand, he raised his arms, and, even as they lifted, his body began once again to mist, and he floated in that form into a shuttle, which soon lifted from the docks, and made its way into the shuttlebay of the USS Vesuvius.
Once inside, a strange, verdant mist escaped the shuttlecraft and floated upward, disappearing through the bulkhead.
Tepes was aboard!

A half an hour had passed since the strange attack by Commodore Sonak. JβLeera was still feeling ill after taking a rest, so she went to the replicator to get something to eat.
βRaktajino,β she ordered, hoping that the caffeine would calm her nerves. βAnd a Mobarian fruit pie,β she added.
When these items were done, she picked them up and took them to a small table next to the bed. She placed the pie and her drink down and went to retrieve a knife from the replicator. She began cutting a slice, but the red juices that dripped from the berries began to stir up very strange feelings. She tried to ignore them and began eating it. She had hoped that perhaps Luke would stop by and she could give him some of her favorite pie. She didnβt know yet if he had come aboard, but she assumed that he had.
"I have to send a message to Dimitrij," she thought. She was instantly confused again and shook her head.
Suddenly she walked over to the door. She stopped herself though, suddenly confused as to why she did that. She went back to the table and tried to eat some more. For some reason, the food and the drink were not satisfying her strange cravings. They alarmed her, but the feeling was so urgent that she had to do something.
She wandered out the door and into the corridor, walking aimlessly about. A few of the other crewmembers noticed her strange behavior, but avoided her. This confused her even further. As she rounded a corner, she nearly ran smack into Luke who was on his way to his quarters. She gasped and starred at him. Suddenly her peculiar feelings shot through the roof. βSomethingβs wrong!β she thought to herself.
Luke didnβt notice though and was pleased to see her. βHey, JβLeera? Are you settled in yet?β he grinned.
She didnβt answer, instead she turned around and ran straight back to her quarters and locked the door. Her hands were trembling as she sank to the floor. The thoughts and cravings that she was getting were beginning to overwhelm her. Soon she felt that she would have no control at all. She sat there a few minutes thinking about them. Gradually she calmed down and her fears began to fade. However the cravings were still there. She wasnβt certain what she needed, but she knew that she had to find them and soon.
Lukeβs face popped into her mind. Just the sight of him made her mouth water. She tried to stop herself, but gave in. She just couldnβt fight the strange craving for blood, stood up and left her quarters in search of it.
She went out into the corridor but failed to find Luke anywhere. "Well, I'll find someone else," she thought to herself and continued on her search.

ooc: joint post Sonak and Nick Martens. Assume that I've been turned into a vampire before interrogating Kate.
Kate sat silently against the wall of her cell, head still groggy from Spiegels medications. She blinked a few times, attempting to clear the blurriness yet nothing came into focus. ~where am I~ she thought and began feeling her way around the dim room. The walls felt smooth and warm to the touch, and the ground was obviously carpeted, ~maybe a starship~ she crawled a bit further and felt the hum of the cell force field. She looked up and noticed a figure standing with arms crossed, but couldn't make out who.
Between tending to sickbay and overseeing the move of the planet, which was going to take several hours because of the precision work needed, Sonak had walked down to the holding cell area. Kate Martens had been moved from Scavengerβs sickbay to Vesuviusβ brig. She stood silently before the force field, her arms crossed before her. Behind her, two guards were standing at full alert, ready to move if the prisoner tried to escape. βYou cannot escape this time Mrs. Martens,β Sonak suddenly said, and was pleased to see the woman flinch at hearing her voice. It was quite obvious that Brianβs medications had not quite worn off yet, and it was very possible that they would not wear off for quite some time still. βYou have caused us enough pain and grief,β Sonak went on, βand I shall not allow you to cause more. Why have you come back? Why did you sabotage my ship?β
"I wasn't counting on you being there. And everything was almost finished. Then you and your ship had to show up to help the Amnistians move their planet. I was this closed to being paid," she said holding her hand up in front of her face. "As for your ship, well it was an order I had to follow. Not that it really matters anyway."
"What does that mean?" Sonak said still probing the young woman.
"They wanted Vesuvius out of the timeline and I was told it needed to be done or I'd be returned to where they found me."
"Why did you destroy the Vesuvius," Sonak repeated, "why did my husband have to die. And why would you sabotage moving a planet, when it could benefit so many people?"
She turned to the guard when Kate did not reply. "Lower the force field and activate it again after I enter the cell." She glared at the guard when he objected.
"Lower the forcefield and give me your phaser." She received the phaser and stepped into the cell. 'You will tell me Kate," she said, "one way or the other I shall know the answers to the questions I asked."
Kate moved back slowly as the Commodore drew closer with the phaser.
"I told you already, I did what I had to do. Your husband was in the wrong place a the wrong time. Had it been mine I would have done the same thing."
"You could have taken him when you fled engineering," Sonak said, still advancing on the woman, "and I am sure that your husband would not believe your words, about leaving him behind. Though, on second thought, he might. You are lying to me, why did you distroy the ship. You could have killed your husband, your daughter."
"You don't think I didn't think about that. They are resourcefull, they would have found a way," she said, her head starting to clear. "You don't think that I think about that every day. As for the ship, well it needed to be removed from the timeline for a progression."
"Progression of what?" Sonak asked.
"You have me, if I knew why would I tell you."
"You have already failed that objective, and obviously you needed to hide from those superiors because of that failure. You know I have ways of finding answers, and I will use those ways if necessary. It will spare you a lot of agony if you tell me of your own free will." She bared her teeth as she smiled at the woman, her fangs showing only slightly. "Believe me, you will wish to tell me of your own free will."
"Bring it on. I've got bigger things to fear other than your little information searching techniques. Frankly I'm safe in jail, as the council won't be able to get me."
"And what makes you think I will not extradite you to these council members?" Sonak asked, as she approached the woman and reached out for her face, touching her temples with her left hand, as she held the woman in place with her right. "My mind to your mind, your thoughts to my thought," she intoned, as she initiated a mind-meld.
Sonak suddenly found herself in a great hall, wind and dust swirling around her. Through the dust she can see 4 people, they're voices are muffled by the wind but what she hears troubles her.
"He must not live," one of the voices said, "He and his ship must be destroyed."
"Who, my lords?" Kate asked.
"His name is Seliv. He will be aboard the USS Vesuvius. The timelines show defeat under his name."
Sonak swallowed and fought down her anger, as she probed further, searching the woman's mind for answers.

T`Caph had boarded the runabout which was to take her to the USS Vesuvius, which would then take her to the USS Black Tulip. She did not sit down right away. She knew it was illogical but she could not help looking out of the main window toward the entrance to the shuttle bay. Then she saw him - it was Peter ! He had rushed through the door toward the runabout, knocking over the startled Bay crew as he ran toward her. She looked straight at him and pressed her hand to the window, allowing her usually controlled " emotions " to surface for a moment, to express that she was bonded to him.
He placed his hand with hers against the window, the put his other hand on his heart. She knew exactly what he meant and she responded in a way she knew he would understand as a human, by blowing him a kiss. It was not the Vulcan way of course, but during the time she had spent with her friends at the Academy, she had learned the importance to humans of demonstrating " affection " so wanted his last glimpse of her at this moment to be one which would let him know what he needed to know.
Tears fell from his eyes but T`Caph had to look away - her telepathic ability allowed her to sense his grief at their parting and she did not wish her last sight of him to be one of such sorrow.
She took her seat and ignored the look the pilot was giving her.
Pilot : Lieutenant, are you ok ?
T`Caph : Thank you for your concern. Please proceed with our departure.
The pilot realised by her tone that he would be best saying nothing further. He looked at Peter as he walked backwards, as though not wanting to take his eyes off the vessel taking his beloved from him. The crewmen he had knocked over had all picked themselves up and witnessed the couple. They understood his pain and left him to retreat in his own time. Finally he left the bay to watch the runabout depart.
T`Caph did not feel the engines power up as she had put herself into deep meditation.
Finally ............................
Pilot : We have arrived Lieutenant. We will dock in a few moments.
T`Caph slowly opened her eyes and saw the huge USS Vesuvius as the runabout steadily entered its shuttle bay.
She exited and the bay`s crew quickly unloaded her things for her.
Crewman : Welcome aboard Lieutenant, you have been assigned temporary quarters and arrangements have been made to take your gear there for you.
T`Caph : Thank you
She wondered if her friends, J`Leera and Luke, knew she was aboard. She would look them up as soon as possible. Her thoughts were then interupted as an Ensign approached. Ensign :: smiling pleasantly :: Lieutenant, I will show you around. We like to take good care of our guests
T`Caph : Very well.
T`Caph followed the Ensign out of the shuttle bay. She knew it would help her to be distracted and busy until she could contact Peter...

JβLeera ran down the corridor aimlessly. She wasnβt sure what she had wanted, but for some reason Sickbay beckoned to her. People glanced at her in surprise as she tried to slip by unseen. She caught herself starring at them hungrily, but she ignored them because they were out in the open. She felt that she knew what she wanted, but didnβt want to do it in front of a lot of people.
She finally reached Sickbay and found it very quiet with only a few people working. A nurse came up and asked if she needed anything. Suddenly she spotted an ensign standing off to the side working with a tricorder. βYes, heβs the one!β She thought. βHeβs perfect!β She shook her head at the nursesβ question and walked over to the ensign. She was now growing very excited and a little anxious. βEnsign?β
He turned around and saw her standing there. βLieutenant?β he asked. βIs anything wrong?β
βI need to see you privately, Ensign,β she replied, starring into his eyes.
βEnsign Caldwellβ¦β he began to say when he froze. He starred back, unsure of what to do.
βIs there an office or a room where we can speak privately?β she asked again, continuing to stare. She realized that her stare was having an effect on the ensign, so she continued using it, hoping to lure him away from the others.
βIβ¦umβ¦yes, over here,β he stuttered and began walking toward a side room.
JβLeera followed him, her mouth beginning to water in anticipation. When they were both inside, she shut the door and began to speak. βEnsign, I know you do not understand what is happening, but I do know that this is for the best.β She took a step toward him and took the bewildered Ensignβs shoulders. His eyes bulged in fear as she opened her mouth and quickly bit into his neck.
As she began to eat, the strange craving began to subside and she began feeling much better. She felt Ensign Caldwellβs body begin to go limp from the shock, so she allowed him to sink to the floor since she was unable to hold up his much heavier body. She then continued eating that way. When she had finished, she wiped her mouth on the back of her hand, stepped over his unconscious form and went back to her quarters satisfied.
On her way out a doctor walked up to talk to her, but as soon as she did, JβLeera gave her the stare and the doctor turned back around and left. She didnβt have any other problems getting back to her quarters after that.

<and finally the VES post of the JP with mr Burgess. Ves crew please reply here>
After two days of traveling at warp 5, the Vesuvius finally docked at Bellicose station. There, Lieutenants jg Laika and Luke were getting off, awaiting the arrival of their assignment, the USS Tiger Shark B.
Sonak had discovered that Reckus' assistant, Caldwell, had been infected as well, and together with J'leera they had raided the sickbay blood supply, to avoid infecting more people. But now, Sonak was craving for fresh blood, and the new call from the station was very welcome. It seemed that Commander Burgess still had one of her shuttles in storage, and he figured that now was a good time to get it back to them.
ooc: from here a joint post with Commander Gary Burgess
"Commodore Sonak to Starbase Control, I am looking for a Commander Burgess can you get me in touch with him?" she called, after signaling the COO to hail the starbase.
Starbase Control > Commodore Cmdr. Burgess is located on Deck 1 Sonak > Thank you control As commander burgess was walking around checking the station reports he got a comm's from Commodore Sonak
"Control, could you raise him for me please. He sent me a message that he has my shuttle, USS Stromboli in storage for me. I will be beaming over to retrieve it. Please have him meet me in your transporterroom on deck 1."
While she assumed that Commander Burgess was called to the transporterroom, Sonak walked down to her own transporterroom, having herself beamed over to the station. "Please dim the lights," she told the transporter chief, "I have been in an accident and since then I am light sensitive, please dim the lights." The TC complied, without asking more questions. Just as he had dimmed the light, did Gary walk in.
As Cmdr. Burgess walked into the transporter room he noticed it was a little dark in the room and went to raise the lights but just before i said it he here Sonak telling him not to. Sonak > My eyes are very sensitive due to a accident she said. Cmdr. Burgess >shall i show you to the storage so you can get the shuttle
"That would be preferable," Sonak told him. Her eyes were drawn to his throat, where she saw the vein throbbing in synch with his heartbeat. She swallowed, but she knew she would not be able to restrain herself. "Please lead the way," she told the commander, telling herself that she would get him when he got her to her shuttle.
As they started walking out of the transporter room Gary noticed that Sonak didn't look so good at that moment. Gary > Sorry commodore i forgot about you eyes Computer lower light 50 percent all the way to the storage bay 47 at that moment the lights all dimmed as they was getting closer to th storage bay Gary started asking about the mission the Ves. just finish sonak > Good i have a lot of good officers that when on for a few mins until the got to the Storage bay door Cmdr. Burgess > Computer unlock storage bay 47 access code alpha 2 778beta 3 at that moment the door starts openning and they go in.
"Thank you commander," Sonak said softly, allowing Burgess to enter first, "and for your care of my shuttle you shall be greatly rewarded." She felt her fangs on the insides of her lips and she grimaced, then traced her hand along Gary's jaw. "Do not be afraid," she said.
As Sonak started Tracing Garys jaw he was getting a little nervos to have a senior officer doing this to him and at that moment She said DO not be afraid Gary Gary > am not afraid Commodore its just diff. at that moment she moved closer to him like she was going to tell him something in his ear.
"Just relax," she continued, whispering in his ear, "you will feel only a little pain. Now, hold still." She moved his head a little sideways, and she felt him struggle in her grip, but she was the stronger party. At last, she let her teeth sink into his throat, and fed on him, delighting in the taste of fresh blood. "See?" she asked, pausing as she still felt him struggle, "relax or you will only make this worse. Trust me, this is a great reward."
As gary was struggling in the grip of sonak he started to feel a stange feeling that could only be weakness in his legs which was making him feel like he was going to fall but sonak held him up until she was finished and then she laid him down so he wouldn't fall over.
"Rest easy now," she told him, as she gently lowered him to the ground, "soon you will feel better. I must go now, I have a ship to run and another passenger to deliver." With that, she left her victim lying unconscious in the cargobay, after she moved him to a safe location, and headed for her shuttle, taking it back to her ship.
"Sonak to Vesuvius, as soon as I am aboard, set course for the USS Black Tulip."

Fox has asked me to paste this message for him as he is at work and cannot access the messageboard from there
Sonak and Fox talked about who was going to get the Shuttle from bellicose. Fox had suggested to sent one of their pilots, but Sonak insisted that she would get the shuttle. Fox thought it was a little odd that she wanted to get the shuttle so badly, but didnt pay much attention to it.
Sonak left to be beamed to the starbase leaving Fox in command of the Vesuvius. Sitting down in the captains chair he ordered to display Bellicose on the main screen.
Looking at the starbase on the main screen, Sonak finally called that she was about to leave the base with the Shuttle. He watched the giant doors of Bellicose slide open to let the shuttle out.
Not much later the shuttle appeared in the opening, slowly moving toward the Vesuvius. When the shuttle was through the doors they began to close again.
~What an amazing sight~ Fox thought. Not much later Sonak reported that she had docked the shuttle in bay 2. Direct after that Fox ordered to lay in a course for the Black Tulip.

Luke was slowly walking around the Hepta. Trying to absorb everything going on around him. He felt like a Cadet again, not knowing what to do. Maybe he would go to the bridge and see if they needed any halp up there.
He looked to his left and then saw....
"T'Caph!!!" Luke called. She didnt appear to hear him. Maybe Im imagining things he thought.
"Computer is Lt. T'Caph onboard the Vesuvius?"
=^= Affirmative. Lt. T'Caph is being transported to the USS Black Tulip. =^=
This is fantastic. Luke thought. He went over to a corner and stood there thinking.
"Computer record message and send to T'Caphs quaters:
Hello! I did not realise you were travelling on the Vesuvius. Perhaps we should meet up later with J'Leera for a drink? We all have a lot to talk about - what with the changes and all. Im sure you need someone to talk to right now. I know how close you were to Peter. So if you ever need a chat Im here! Speak to you soon!
Luke"
=^= Message recorded and sent. =^= The computer chimed.
With that settled Luke headed off to the bridge feeling a little happier.

T`Caph awoke with a start. Slightly groggy she checked the time. She had been asleep for several hours and felt somewhat disorientated. Sitting up she looked around the quarters and realised she had just been dreaming that she was still at the Academy.
She saw the monitor flashing and got up to look at her messages. It was from Luke !
T`Caph : Computer, locate Luke Dowding
Computer : Luke Dowding is not aboard the USS Vesuvius.
She checked the time of the message and realised he must have already been dropped off at his destination, in which case J`Leera would be gone from the ship as well. She had missed her last chance to see them for some time. A great pity.
She switched off the monitor and had the replicator provide her with some Vulcan tea. She sat deep in thought then looked toward her still packed kit. She went over to a box and opened it. There on the top was Peter`s holostatue. T`Caph picked it up and placed it on the table, sat down then eventually activated the statue.
She had lost track of time, having watched the statue over and over. Her tea was now cold, the cup still in her hand.
This was illogical she thought. I can not do anything about the situation at this point. I will see him when I see him. She decided to get dressed, picked up a PADD from another of her boxes, then made her way to ten forward. There was hardly anyone there.
She took a seat where she could see out in to open space. Her privacy was interupted as she was asked by the steward if she would like to order a drink.
" Vulcan Tea " she responded. " And some fruit ".
She realised she had not eaten for more than a full day, what with the rush to get aboard, the brief tour of the ship, then all those hours sleeping.
Moments later the steward placed her drink and a selection of exotic fruits in front of her. She picked at it and cleared her mind. She activated the PADD she had brought with her and concentrated on reading through the specifications of the Black Tulip. She wished to be familiar with the ship ready for when the Vesuvius rendezvoused to deliver her to commence her assignment as CEO.

~ This post should be placed between the arrival of the USS Vesuvius to Starbase Bellicose, and prior to its departure. ~As the Vesuvius drew near to the starbase, Tepes could once again feel the thirst beginning to rise. Knowing that they were approaching a new feeding ground, the mist that was Tepes floated toward the transporter room, and as Sonak beamed down to Bellicose, the mist entered the transport beam, and made the journey with her.
Sonak was not unaware of Tepes' presence; she somehow knew the mist was far more than it appeared to be, yet also knew it was aware she would soon be feeding on the officer she to whom she had referred β Commander Burgess. She also knew the mist would not interfere.
As Sonak coalesced on Deck One, the mist that had traveled with her rose to the ceiling and left the transporter room. Finding a dark, secluded side corridor, it lowered to the floor and shaped itself into humanoid form.
Tepes stepped out into the main corridor. At this time, it was without personnel. Tepes was alone. He frowned; he needed just one. As if in answer to his annoyance, a lone figure in civilian garb walked in his direction.
"Excuse me," began Tepes, and the lone civilian turned his attention to him.
As their eyes met, the civilian found he could not look away. The powerful, mesmerizing stare of Tepes could not be resisted.
Slowly, the dark figure approached the civilian until the two were no more than an arm's length apart. Tepes' hand raised again, reinforcing his beckoning stare as he spoke quietly but forcefully, "Come!
The young man moved slowly toward Tepes as the vampire's black-caped figure backed away, returning to the side walkway from which he had stepped to call the hapless fellow.
"Come, Wilbur ... come!" He droned ... and the civilian obeyed.
Tepes' lips parted, and his fangs glistened as he slowly made his way to the young man's throat. Within moments, only one was left standing.
Tepes β for the moment β was satisfied, and started off toward the docks, where he hoped to find a ship leaving to his planned destination.

The labs were slightly noisier than usual. There wasn't much to do, so everyone was chatting while they worked. L'Ola entered Science Lab 2.
"Jenna, catch!" She threw a PADD across the room.
Jenna looked at it, "They finished the sensor upgrades? Excellent! If only we had something to test them on."
L'Ola walked over, "Well, we're going to be passing fairly close to an unusual nebula soon, should be the perfect chance to test them."
"It'll give us something new to analyse I suppose, and a field test."
Something to do. That was all they wanted. It seemed as if they had turned into a taxi service. The only interesting thing on the ship were the rumours of crewmembers acting strangely and missing medical supplies. Hardly anything to write home about.
L'Ola checked the time, "Only half an hour til the end of the shift, and we should be back in time to look at that nebula."
After finishing work, L'Ola went to get something to eat. She got a plate of pasta, and looked round for somewhere to sit. She saw a Vulcan Lieutenant that she didn't recognise, and went to that table.
"Mind if I join you?" she asked.
T'Caph looked up. She could hardly say no, so she motioned to the seat opposite her.
"I'm L'Ola Kanz, by the way."

After Sonak docked the shuttle the bay personel came walking to it. The door of the shuttle opened.
"Welcome back, Ma'am" one of the ensigns said as Sonak walked out of the shuttle and out of the shuttle bay. On her way she ordered the computer to dim the lights all the way to the bridge.
<on the Bridge> Fox still sat in the chair when Jatan called him asking him if they had picked up supplies at bellicose. Fox told him they hadnt because according to all the check lists they had enough of everything. Then Jatan told him about the missing blood supplies.
"Nothing we can do about that now." Fox said "We'll have to do without them, we're already on our way to the Black Tulip." "Okay, Sir" Jatan replied "Was just to let u know." then they closed the channel
Short after that all lights on the bridge dimmed and Sonak entered. He stood up and welcomed her back.

"Have you located the Black Tulip?" Sonak asked, acknowledging Fox' greeting. At Fox' nod, she sat down and stared at the viewscreen. "I heard that Mr Reckus complained about missing bloodsupplies, has a cause been discovered yet?"
"No ma'am," Fox replied, "Neither Reckus nor Caldwell have seen anything, and the ships sensors do not record anyone entering sickbay's storage rooms. I have ordered security to give a thorough investigation on the matter."
"Very good," Sonak replied, squinting at her first officer. She still found the ilumination a little too bright for comfort, but decided that if she asked to dim it more, it would rais suspiscion. For now, she was contend, and would not need to feed for several more hours. "Let Admiral Elron know when we will arrive at his location. I have something to discuss with him before we return to home base."
<Fox>
"Sonak to Engineering. Mr Martens, please report to my readyroom. I have something to discuss with you." <<yep kate business>>

L`Ola Kanz introduced herself and sat down.
T`Caph : I am T`Caph, I am enroute to the USS Black Tulip. You are a science officer ?
L`Ola Kanz : I am, yes.
Vulcans have telepathic ability in varying degree`s and T`Caph was sensing something about L`Ola but was not sure what it was. She appeared human but.....
L`Ola Kanz : I have spent time on Vulcan, in fact I took my Diploma in Sciences there.
T`Caph :: eyebrow raised :: It is not the usual choice for non-Vulcans to study there ?
L`Ola Kanz : Well, it`s complicated but I grew up on Vulcan from the age of 8, so it was natural to study there too :: gives a wry smile ::
T`Caph : So, your homeworld ?
L`Ola Kanz : I am a Betazoid
T`Caph : Ah, now I understand. I sensed something but did not wish to pry. Were you aware of my puzzlement ?
L`Ola Kanz :: smiling :: No, my abilities are rather limited in that regard. Certainly I could not sense anything from a Vulcan unless you were not in control of course ! So, how are things on Vulcan ?
T`Caph : Things....are....as they are ?
L`Ola Kanz : I mean, family, friends, have you heard from then since you have been away ?
T`Caph : No. I was raised by an aunt, and my brother is far away out of contact range. I did not really have friends there, I was imersed in musical studies. My friends from the Academy are all on the way to their new assignments now, as am I.
L`Ola Kanz : Ah, so you have new friends to make soon then :: smiles ::
T`Caph :: glancing out to open space :: Indeed
L`Ola Kanz : Have I said something wrong T`Caph ?
T`Caph : No, not at all. tell me more of your time on Vulcan ?
T`Caph was actually pleased now that she had company, especially one who would understand her ways so well. It was helping to keep her mind from .... other things.....

L'Ola thought for a moment. "My time on Vulcan... Well it was definitely a life-changer. Before I moved there I'd been living on Kronos, first with step-family, then with a new adoptive family. But since it didn't work out too well, I had to leave."
She paused for a moment. It was strange, she was sat telling a complete stranger all about her life and still felt completely comfortable.
"So I was adopted into a Vulcan family. They took the time to give me an education and a more stable life. It was surprisingly fun living there. I mean, you guys don't exactly have a reputation for being party animals, no offence meant of course."
"None taken" T'Caph answered.
L'Ola wondered if she actually meant that, or had just said it because no one ever officially took offence.
"For a while the only Vulcans I encountered were my family, for safety reasons."
T'Caph looked confused.
"Safety reasons?"
"The only thing I'd really learnt on Kronos was how to defend myself, and I wasn't afraid to prove it. But after time, I was brought up to speed on most things. The obvious exception being my telepathic abilities. I can hardly ever tell what people are thinking, just one or two peopleβ¦"
She seemed to drift off for a moment before focusing again.
"But what I can tell is when people, especially Vulcans, are trying to work something out thatβs bothering them. And as they say, a problem shared is a problem halved."
She smiled and then looked at T'Caph accusingly.

Meanwhile, the Vesuvius was gaining on the Black Tulip and the ship was now within hailing rainge. "ETA to Black Tulip?" Sonak asked, as she got up from her chair. Somehow, sitting was becoming increasingly uncomfortable, as was her uniform, it felt as if it would choke her, but to keep up appearances, she did not change into something else.
"Two hours at current speed ma'am, the duty COO called from her station, "should I hail them?"
~how eager~ Sonak thought, somewhat disdained, but she glanced at the young woman and smiled encouragingly. "That would be a very good idea Ms Donahue," she replied, "get me Admiral Elron."
"I have the admiral on screen ma'am," Donahue replied.
And indeed, an image of the admiral appeared on screen.
"Admiral," Sonak greeted, "we are at your position in two hours. I have one of your officers aboard, and there is something I wish to discuss with you in private. Would it be convenient for me to beam aboard your ship when we arrive at your location?"
<Elron>
"Thank you admiral, we will see you in two hours. Vesuvius out."
Sonak sat back down in her chair and smiled to herself. ~soon now~ she thought, feeling the bond to her 'sire', knowing that he too was close to accomplising his tasks.
She turned to her first officer. "I will be in sickbay, after all my children need to be fed," she said, "you have the bridge commander. Please notify me when you have the Black Tulip on screen."
<Fox>
Just when she left the bridge, Claire Steenbergen entered. "Lieutenant," Sonak greeted, as she swept past.

T`Caph listened intently as L`ola talked of her past. It could not have been an easy life but she seemed remarkebly well adjusted and accepting that her life was as it was. A very Vulcan attitude she thought.
T`Caph : It is not too late to hone your telepathic abilities. If you choose to do so, I would be pleased to assist, should the opportunity arise in the future. Do not answer now, take some time to consider it and should we meet again, I will make myself available.
L`Ola nodded to acknowledge the invitation and seemed to appreciate that she was not being pushed to think about it until such time as it felt right, if that time ever came.
T`Caph realised L`Ola was still looking at her somewhat quizzically after saying a problem shared is a problem halved.
T`Caph : I....it is...not a .... logical situation. It is one unfamiliar to me....
L`Ola knew Vulcan ways - perhaps she may have some guidence for T`Caph ?
She proceeded to explain to L`Ola about how she had never considered taking a partner, and now, there was Peter....

Counselor Steenbergen was on her way to the bridge for her dutyshift there. When she walked in the commodore walked by.
"Lieutenant" she greeted with a nod. Claire nodded back but noticed Sonak's desiring stare, which only lasted for a tenth of a second, yet it was there. Claire had definately sensed it, and it was not directed to her specifically, no she hadn't even tried to look in Claire's eyes. The commodore's glance had focussed on her neck...
"Swoosh," the door sounded her back into reality. She just probably liked my perfume, the counselor thought, while she walked up to take the seat beside the commander.

Before L`Ola was able to consider T`Caphs predicament, they were interupted.
=/\= Lt T`Caph, we have arrived, please report to the transporter room =/\=
L`Ola Kanz : Well, this is goodbye then, for now at least. I will consider your offer, and as for Peter, it will come right, you`ll see :: smiles sympathetically ::
T`Caph : I thank you for you company, and hope we will meet again
L`Ola : Oyori, Dif-tor heh smusma T`Caph
T`Caph bowed her head slightly :: Oyori, Dif-tor heh smusma L`Ola Kanz
The Vulcan picked up her PADD and went to her quarters to ensure all her things were ready to send to the Black Tulip, then went to the transporter room and on to her new life aboard the USS Black Tulip

OOC: Just as an early warning, I'm going to be away from Tuesday to Friday next week and the chances of me being able to get online are slim to none.
L'Ola watched T'Caph leave the room. She was pleased to have found someone to talk to, even if it had only been for a short time.
She started eating again, thinking about T'Caph's problem. It seemed there was no easy solution, especially since the two would have to make a big effort to meet up again.
Then L'Ola got thinking about her own set of problems. And she realised that most of them were just her problems. None of them had to exist if she didn't make them.
Putting her plate back for recycling she wandered off to her quarters. There she picked up a PADD and made a list of every little thing that was bothering her. She also came up with a plan of action for each item on the list.
Reading it back, L'Ola saw it would take a while to put everything right. So she looked for something she could do something straight away. One thing on the list leapt out at her.
After checking something with the computer she left her room and headed down to engineering, checking more things as she went.
"Computer, how many people are there in the engineering office?"
"There is one person in the engineering office"
L'Ola thought for a moment, as she entered a turbolift, "Are there any meetings scheduled in the engineering office today?"
"Negative"
*Well that's okay then, I'm not interrupting anything* she thought.
She stood outside the office and took a deep breath, before pressing the door chime.
"Come in"
L'Ola walked in.
Nick looked up from his work and seemed surprised, "Hi... Can I help you with anything?"
"Well yes actually. See I thought we should finish our conversation."
"Conversation?"
"You know, before we left the Starbase Conqueror... When I walked off on you..."
Nick looked embarrassed and diverted his gaze.
"Ah, that conversation."
L'Ola took another deep breath.
"I was thinking about it, what I wanted to say. And the truth is, I didn't know then. But now, what I really want to say is thank you."
He looked back at her, the look of surprise returning to his face.
She continued, "Thank you for telling me what happened. I guess it's taken a while for it to sink in. But you've had enough to deal with lately without me giving you hassle over it. I'm sorry..."

After her meeting with Admiral Elron, Sonak had left the Black Tulip with a satisfied feeling, but also with a feeling of regret. She knew she had hurt a dear friend, and hoped that he would not forever hold it against her, but she also knew that there was no ignoring these instincts she seemed to have lately.
Somehow, the thought of normal food made her feel sick, and the presence of bright light almost blinded her, yet the Vulcan doctor on the starbase they had docked prior to Bellicose had not found any sign of infection.
Sonak shook her head to clear her thoughts, her long hair flying in her face. Absentmindedly, she wiped the stray strands away and walked out of the transporterroom, entering the nearest turbolift. "Brig," she said, feeling that there were still some unfinished business with Kate Martens.
She entered the cellblock area, motioning the guard to wait outside. The officer now knew better than to argue with her, and stepped out without saying a word. He understood that she could handle this woman, even though he was concerned that she would harm her, as he was aware of the history between the woman and his commanding officer. He shrugged, and waited where he was told to wait, but at full alert, ready to jump back in when necessary.
Sonak stepped forward, peering Kate in the eyes but not with summoning power. "We have some unfinished business," she said soflty, "my mindmeld with you revealed some interesting things. I wish to know more about why my husband had to die...or was it perhaps my son you were after?"
<Kate>
She smiled, baring her teeth, as she saw the woman''s startled reaction. Obviously, that was not something she had considered. "Well what do you know?" she laughed, staring down at the woman with restrained anger, "too bad Starfleet Headquarters wants you alive and well, otherwise you would perhaps prove to be a nice snack for me."
Sonak knew that, if she babbled to security, the would believe Kate to be delirious, especially after the amount of medication she had received. She knew she had nothing to fear from Kate on that account, the only thing she feared was the woman herself, and her connections. She watched the woman for a while, then headed back to the turbolift. "Engineering."
Again, she stepped off and entered main engineering, looking around for her chief engineer. "Commander Martens, a word with you please?" she said, as she entered the office, then stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Lieutenant Commander Kanz. "Oh excuse me, I did not know you were here as well. So much the better, it may concern both of you. Commander, as you may have found out by now....the attack of your wife on our previous vessel, and my husband, was planned. We seem to play an important part in the future with this vessel. But, I am now not entirely sure if she meant to kill my bondmate, I somehow believe that she meant to kill my son instead. What are your theories? Ms Kanz, your ideas too please, on timelines and prophecy. Do you believe in prophecy?"
She looked from Nick to L'Ola, and back to Nick, watching them expectantly.
<Martens/Kanz>

"Well recently on Tandar theres been a new technique in predicting outcomes of events,"Nick said, "What it essentially allows is a viewing of a certain timeline. While it's a very hazy view of the future it is one never the less."
"So do you think that the Tandaran government is behind this?" Sonak asked.
"No, the project was never sanctioned by the governing agents. In fact it was outlawed. It is possible however that this "council" has a similar technology but has greater clairity."

"Greater clarity you say," Sonak continued, "but how can one predict the future, when the future is not a constant? Of course, there are people who are blessed, or cursed if you will, with receiving visions but they not always come true exactly as how the person explained this vision. You know Mr Reckus receives visions on occasion, but they do not necessarily come true as he saw them. Personally, I would not put my faith in these prophecies, but rather in proven fact."
She turned to L'Ola, watching her reaction as she continued. "I would like the two of you to 'entertain' Mrs Martens for a while, see if you can find out if she knows anything else. Draft Ms Steenbergen if you need to, but remember she must not be harmed. I fear that my rather forceful mindmeld with her may have harmed her already, and she knows some form of blockage that will not allow me to enter a second time."
<Martens/Kanz>
"Now, I have to return to the bridge, let me know if you two discover anything." She stood up and left engineering, going to the bridge but not before taking a detour past sickbay, where Caldwell handed her a glass of cold blood. The young man smiled at her, baring his teeth, then glanced back at Jatan who was working on the opposite side of sickbay. "Leave him alone," Sonak warned the young medic, "you will not touch him. It is bad enough that we two are infected, we need him to find a cure, soon. I will go talk to him later, but not now."
Caldwell nodded, still smiling. He knew better than to chase his mentor, his friend, and he felt that the commodore's warning was unneeded.
Sonak emptied her glass, making a face at the taste of cold blood, and resumed her way to the bridge. "Report," she said, looking directly at Fox.

L'Ola listened to what Sonak was saying. Timelines weren't the sort of thing to generally give her a headache, unless people started to pick events apart. But then she'd never actually dealt with the issues involved first-hand before. Although possible changing the future wasn't going to give her a headache, Sonak's instructions would. She'd gone extremely pale and, if it was possible, even more quiet when presented with the idea. She could cope with the idea of Kate being part of Nick's past, but this was different. To be in the same room as Nick and Kate would be awkward, never mind talking as well. But she knew it would be a lot harder for Nick. And on the bright side, she would finally get to talk to Kate. OOC: Sorry there's not much here, I don't have much time. I'll be back online on Friday evening, please try to keep my character in one piece. Thanks
