As they continued to talk more of the Ves’s senior staff arrived as well as a few of the Oly’s, Daniel noted that neither David nor Steven were here before Daniel could move away from the XO he gave Daniel an order "Do me a favour Daniel, run to the Olympia and shake the Captain awake. If he gets narky tell him it was an order from the Commodore. That aught to wake him up" Daniel did not like the idea of having to wake the captain but before he could voice any opposition to the idea Sonak spoke "I am quite certain Captain Smith is not normally like this," Sonak answered amiably, as she saw a blonde Vulcan dressed in Marine dress blues approach. "Just make sure he gets here because I have been looking forward to finally meeting him." Daniel slowly got up and left to collect the captain.
As Daniel arrived on the Olympia’s Bridge he noted that few engineers were around ‘well I guess the secondary section needs more work than the primary this time’ walking to the captain’s ready room Daniel pressed the chime to enter. When Daniel did not get a response Daniel spoke “Computer please locate Captain Smith” =/\=Captain Smith is in his ready room=/\= pressing the door chime again he finally got a response, entering the ready room Daniel saw that the captain had indeed been asleep, “Sir, I have been ordered to bring you to the Crab Shack on both Colonel Wong’s and Commodore Reckus’ orders” Daniel hoped he would not get blamed for waking the captain up.

As night fell on the holodeck, Starfleet officers came from all directions of the woodland program to gather around the crackling fire pit. Most of the crewmen adapted to their environment easily, except the ship’s doctor, Lieutenant Commander D’Angelo. The ship’s new ensign was surprised to see a high ranking officer such as D’Angelo so uncomfortable.
Officer Logan Byrne set up a huge wild boar in the red-hot fire pit. An assumed his fellow officers might eat unclean food, so he had reserved a delicious meal of steak, green beans, potatoes and salad. As An prepared for the many questions that come when one passes on a delicious unclean banquet, the meal slipped off the stakes and into the fire. Byrne ran to rescue his burning delicacy, but the echoing moans and groans from the staff only mirrored Byrne’s feelings. An offered his food to neighboring officers nearest to him, leaving none for himself.
As the complaining died down, Ensign An stood and courteously introduced himself to the staff. He then asked whether anyone would like to join him for the sabbath service he was going to hold in a couple of days at ten-hundred hours.
The next day, An hiked down a mountain side from a stream he used to bathe in. He was careful to select a stream that would not be used for water. The brook was incredibly ice-cold. He was amazed at how real the water felt around him, almost forgetting that it was entirely holographic.
While An approached the main campsite, the holodeck doors appeared and opened. A tall, marine colonel stepped in. “Good afternoon. I'm Lieutenant Colonel Tiberian Wong, XO of the Oly. I'd like to invite you all to dinner with our senior staff and guests this evening,” the colonel requested. As Commodore Reckus introduced her crew, Ensign An nodded to the colonel when the commodore mentioned the security officer’s name.
Shortly after the invite, the colonel disappeared as unexpectedly as his entrance. An looked forward to meeting the Olympia crew, but did not want to leave the woods yet. He felt he could stay here forever and missed the mountains of Earth. The ensign turned and left the campsite for his own tent. He caught glimpses of wild animals in the distance, not all from Earth, but assorted animals from planets of similar habitats.
After dropping off his bathing supplies, he scanned the holodeck for animals with his high-powered binoculars. High on a mountain peek, An spotted Tovan, the Lieutenant Commander Tovan meditating. An made a personal note to himself to ask Tovan about Vulcan rituals and meditation.
Hours later, An entered the Crab Shack, behind the commodore’s family. The smell of fish dinners and cuisines filled his nostrils. An was starving and really looked forward to a hot meal, but the specialties here were all unclean, too. An did not care much for seafood anyway. Still slightly traumatized from his prior life, before entering Starfleet, he headed for the corner that gave him the best vantage point. He noted each Vesuvius-A officer and kept a mental record of who arrived and in what order. He surveyed the tables, chairs and utensils as possible defense weapons.
An was a loner and was not impressed with hanging out in crowds of people. The noise and compotation bothered him, but he learned to filter out certain sounds from his martial training. An had not mingled with much of the crew yet on the holodeck, due to exploring the artificial forest.
Shortly, the security officer’s thoughts were interrupted by a bright-white furred feline humanoid leaping into the Shack. The crowd parted and gathered again behind it as it skillfully jumped about the tables. An had never seen such a creature before and was thoroughly impressed.
The creature landed next to the same colonel that invited his crew to the party. The feline wailed and hissed some warning to the colonel as it begin to circle. An immediately begin closing in on the two potential combatants. The colonel stepped up into the creature’s space, almost inviting an attack.
An got close enough to hear the colonel’s defense of carrying a firearm and then demanded that the creature identify itself. The ensign quickly prayed, “deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from any danger.”
The commodore interrupted the standoff explaining that that the creature was Guardsman Snowfall to Srallansre and a civilian security officer on Bellicose. Though An felt both parties were looking for a fight, he decided that it was the colonel that escalated the matter when he should have subdued it.
Following the standoff, An introduced himself to the Sivaoan. “Hello, Guardsman Snowfall,” said the ensign, “I am Ensign Anthony An, security chief aboard the USS Vesuvius-A. I graduated the academy and would appreciate any insight you could give me.”

"Oh thank goodness, Ensign An is distracting him now." Marco didn't want to go into round three of insults from the fuzz-ball. This time, it wasn't just he who felt contempt for the current situation. Everyone was on edge from the audacity of the feline.
A Vulcan ensign plopped down at the empty seat to his right. Everyone had been subtly staying away from the complaining Doctor, but Larok, as he gruffly introduced himself as, was not privy to the holodeck camping trip.
"Did you purchase that on the base?" Marco asked of his Bat'leth. "I didn't realize that there was a Klingon weapons-smith aboard the base." It was the only logical reason that the Vulcan would be carrying such a bold weapon. Probably for research purposes.
<Larok>
He was now surrounded by Vulcans. Tovan on his left, Larok on the right. The new Vulcan had un-Vulcan-like traits, aside from the hand weaponry, that Marco couldn't seem to put his finger on. Marco started to worry that he was going to end up between a logic argument between the two. Tovan, being the witty Vulcan, and Larok, appearing like a brute.
Trying desperately to remove himself from any conversations to his sides, he invoked one with Crystal instead.
"Science, eh?" the Doctor said as he cracked a leg of his crab. "Fox, over there, is our science officer. I don't really spend much time with him. I generally am stuck in sickbay." he sucked the meat out of the shell of a leg, slurping the last bits that started to fall out from his lips. He chewed for a few seconds, then continued, "Any interesting missions lately?"
<Crystal>
As predicted, Larok and Tovan starting arguing, although a Vulcan would call it 'exploring logic'. Marco started to feel a bit confined between the two. He wiped his lips, his crab having been finished with a final slurp, and put his napkin on the plate. "I'm going to go to the bar, Miss Crystal, and get something to drink." The thought of something hard was out of the question in his state of mind. The days of minimal sleep and all the stress would accelerate the ill effects. Synthehol would most likely be his drink of choice. "Join me if you wish," he said, quietly, trying not to accidentally invite anyone listening to the two's conversation.

After securing his special care packages away in his quarters, Byrne joined the group on the holodeck for the little camp out. Trying his best to be the 'man of the hour', he attempted to make a boar roast. Unfortunately it ended in disaster, the boar wound up in the flame pit, practically ruining the meal. Scraping his pride and the meal, he turned in for a night's sleep. Tossing all night, he kept fighting the urge to use the duct tape on the most annoying doctor, whom seemed to be even more annoying asleep.
Morning came and all took down their gear and assembled at the table for morning brewed coffee. Downing his coffee and pastry, he made a beeline to the Commodore and whispered he departure. Rushing through the corridors, literally, he quickly made way to his temporary quarters to receive a comm from his sister.
"Computer, activate display", commanded Logan. Once he saw the image of his sister, he felt a weight of his shoulders.
"Logan, this is your sis. I wanted to be the first to congratulate you on being an uncle. Her name is Lisa Eve, born yesterday at 0400 hours. She has a full head of hair and your smile. I will be sending pictures to your tomorrow. We are both doing well, and Mom says hi. Contact us soon, huh?", stated the message from his sister.
Closing the console, he jumped into the shower. "Computer, I am going to need new dress uniform for the dinner invitation for the gathering with the Olympia crew. Can I get an updated version with my new command insignia?" " Yes, Commander", replied the computer.
Dressing, he received a comm from an Lt. in medical bay. Knowing that this would definitely make him late for the gathering in the Crab Shack, he attended the meeting. Arriving, a female Lt. held a card up in his face as he entered the room. It was a congratulation card from his sister on Earth for his new niece.
Once the small congrats party ended, he proceeded to the gathering of the senior staff in the Crab Shack, stopping only as a white female feline like character passed him in the blink of an eye. Peeking around the corner, Logan looked through a fixed window next to the doors to the restaurant and saw the doctor, once again, being attacked for being a complaining little nitt. Snickering to himself, he composed his uniform and entered the restaurant.

Crystal's conversation was interrupted by the arrival of a feline civilian who complained to Tiberian about him carrying a weapon. Fortunately the Commodore broke up matter before tempers flared too much. In truth she hadn't register that Tiberian had been carrying a side arm. It was more or less part of who he was, it wasn't even the only weapon he was wearing.
Crystal was start to chat to Commodore Sonak and Tiberian when the XO noted the absence of Captain Smith.
"He's not normally like this you know. Back me up here Crystal"
Crystal nodded in agreement although as that the Captain had a baby daughter it could well be that he was simply very tired
"Do me a favour Daniel, run to the Olympia and shake the Captain awake. If he gets narky tell him it was an order from the Commodore. That aught to wake him up"
As Daniel sped off in the direction of the Olympia Crystal took a moment to glance around the assembled throng. She recognised some of the faces and hoped that the ones she didn't were from the Vesuivius. Crystal looked around but aside from the Captain there were a couple of faces she could not see. She nudged Tiberian and muttered quietly
"I don't see Vander or David, Do you think they've forgotten?"
Tag:Tiberian
A while later. The food had arrived and everyone had settled to eat. Not that this had stifled the conversation any.
"Science, eh?" the Doctor said as he cracked a leg of his crab. "Fox, over there, is our science officer. I don't really spend much time with him. I generally am stuck in sickbay." He chewed for a few seconds, then continued, "Any interesting missions lately?"
Crystal made a mental note of the indicated officer and gave a slight smile as she tried to figure out how to answer that one, when was life on the Olympia not interesting? She shrugged. "I spent a good chunk of our last mission up to my elbows in a ticking bomb." She paused. "but I'm not sure I'd call that interesting.."
The conversation continued. Marco seemed to be getting twitchy. he had ended up in a seat between two Vulcans who seemed to seemed to be the Vesuvius's CNO and SMO and more to the point were having a very intense debate all with Marco skewered in the middle. It was a position Crystal remembered all to well from the days she had spent at the Vulcan Science Academy.
"I'm going to go to the bar, Miss Crystal, and get something to drink." He dropped his napkin on the table and stood up."Join me if you wish,"
Crystal looked at him. "I'll join you as soon as I've finished this," she gestured at the last couple of mouthfuls on her plate. "But one condition. Please just call me Crystal. I'm not that much older than you."
She smiled again and hoped her words hadn't come out harsher than she had intended. It seemed that the doctor was frequently the butt of everyone's jokes.

Tiberian smiled back at the Commodore after her question.
"I find that it is always better for your opponent to be on the back foot than it is to be on the backfoot yourself. As such, when I'm put in a threatening position, I'll simply threaten back so that I'm in control of the situation. By angering that Sivoan, I'm dictating the pace of te argument you see. Forgive me, I've been a marine for far too long" He turned to "nd Lieutenant Larok, just pas t the Commodore, a false look of annoyance on his face.
"2nd Lieutenant, are you not aware of the marine etiquette concerning not showing up a superior officer? Because if you are, then why might I ask you are you wearing a dress uniform whilst I remain in simple uniform, hmm?"
<TAG Larok>
Tiberian realised far too late that the Vulcan was unlikely to get the joke for that simple reason, he was Vulcan.
"Lieutenant, what I was getting at wa...You know, never mind, enjoy your meal" He turned to Reckus.
"I must say I'm impressed Commodore. I've never seen a ship with such a high compliment of Vulcan senior staff. You must run one hell of an operation"
<TAG Commodore Reckus>
"I can understand that. Actually, is this man one of yours?"
<TAG Commodore Reckus/Commander Byrne>
After pleasantries were exchanged. He suddenly felt a nudge in his ribs.
"I don't see Vander or David. Do you think they've forgotten?"
"I don't think so" Tiberian whispered back "Knowing Tan, he's probably working alone somwhere. And Vander's either coming or dead drunk in a bar somewhere"
Tiberian swivelled sideways seeing the whinging doctor invite Crystal for a drink, his meal having been completed with a surprising alacrity.
"There's no need for that doctor, we have the miracle of waiters in this establishment" He smiled, flagging down a passing waiter "Can we have three jugs of ice water, and then whatever everyone on the table is having. Charge it all to my account" The waiter nodded and left, leaving Tiberian smirking to himself.
"I wonder if we'll actually get out of here before they realise I don't have an account" he whispered to Crystal, winking with a smile, before turning back to D'Angelo and his nurse.
"So I heard Crystal explaining about our little explosive situation. Has the Vesuvius been up to anything interesting lately?"

"I must say I'm impressed Commodore. I've never seen a ship with such a high compliment of Vulcan senior staff. You must run one hell of an operation"
"Indeed," Sonak agreed, "but as for 'one hell of an operation' I highly doubt that. My staff is efficient, but also quite high on emotion. Mr Tovan is hardly your typical Vulcan, and as you may or may not have noticed, neither am I. And now, I see with Mr Larok to add to my staff, I have yet another atypical Vulcan among my senior staff. A Klingon wielding a bat'leth, that rather reminds me of my friend Rear Admiral Keztrek. This could become interesting for certain."
She saw Byrne, dressed in a crisp new uniform, enter the Crab Shack and she waved him over. As he approached, Wong nodded towards the new arrival.
"I can understand that. Actually, is this man one of yours?"
"Yes Colonel, he is," Sonak acknowledged, "this is my first officer, Commander First Class Logan Byrne. Commander, please make your aquaintance with the first officer of the USS Olympia, Lieutenant Colonel Tiberian Wong."
Just then they were interrupted by Miss Rose, who pointed out several of their staff were still missing. Looking around, Sonak noticed that at least her staff was present and accounted for. She also noticed Marco had isolated himself at the bar, obviously waiting for Olympia's science officer to join him. Fox was talking to something she didn't recognize, while Tovan and Larok seemed to be debating something or the other. ~probably the use of weapons and how that is against Vulcan ideals~ she mused, as Jatan slipped his arm around her waist and directed her to a seat opposite of Larok and Tovan. Miss Rose had also returned to her seat, just to Sonak's right.
Apparently, she had opted against joining her chief medical officer at the bar. "Greetings," she started, "Commander Rose, is it not?" She nodded around. "I overheard you saying something about your previous mission. I would be interested to hear more. Would you care to join me for a walk? Bellicose has magnificent science laboratories, and I would be delighted to show them to you."

note to larok: crab shack's on Bellicose not vesuvius ~sonak~"Did you purchase that on the base?" Marco asked of his Bat'leth. "I didn't realize that there was a Klingon weapons-smith aboard the base." Larok: I am not aware of any on the station but I have only been here 2 hours and 10 minutes. As for the origin of this bat'leth it was presented to me by General Krok of Outpost D'Kul for placing second in the Klingon Defense force academy instructors competition last year. Much to the disappointment of my students as the weapons instructor beat me with shall we say a questionable move. Not a logical move but effective. *Turning back to his dinner he was again addressed by the Major.* "2nd Lieutenant, are you not aware of the marine etiquette concerning not showing up a superior officer? Because if you are, then why might I ask you are you wearing a dress uniform whilst I remain in simple uniform, hmm?" Larok: Sir it was not my intention to show anyone up. I had just arrived on the station reported in to the ship and received the order for me to report here by the Commodore. The orders specified come as you are. If I have offended you I do apologies. I had fully intended to report in to the ship and begin a review of my squads personnel files, as there was not adequate time for them to be forwarded to me before leaving the Tiger Shark.

Crystal was so... so nice, among the other crew. Leaning on the back of his chair as he stood behind it, he was about to leave for the bar when Crystal asked that he remove the "Miss" in front of her name for future conversations.
"No problemo, Miss.," he winked, "Crystal". His playful side was now set loose, effectively boxing his anger up into the depth of his inner psyche. He was no longer annoyed, just fatigued. It was strange how the most seamless of conversations could lift someone out of their bad mood.
He walked over to the bar matter of factly. Bellying up to the counter, choosing not to take a seat, he waited for a few minutes for the bar tender to see him. "What will it be?"
Marco's eyes danced in the upper right corner of their sockets while he pictured all the options. Finally, his thought process landed on something simple.
"I'll just have a lemoncello... synthehol, though." When the waiter went to replicate the drink, Marco turned himself a quarter turn, turning his head to mitigate the other quarter. He found the Commodore talking to the science officer he had invited over. They both stood up at one point, and continued to talk. It appeared as if they were going to leave. If that were the case, Marco was going to retire for the evening. The sleep would be welcomed, and he would be more pleasant in the morning. Being so cranky wasn't usual. Most people just considered him high-strung. The last few days the string holding Marco D'Angelo's emotions was like that of the Sword of Damocles. One unfortunate disturbance, and it would come crashing down.
"Your drink."
Marco placed his thumb print on the padd shown to him. A new figure walked in. At least, he hadn't seen where she came from. It was Doctor Abernathy, the doctor that Alice said she had met at a conference.
Her hair, done up in a pony tail, swayed back and forth as she walked in. Her motions were deliberate, and not noticing the crowd of Vesuvius and Olympia crew in the back, she took a seat at the bar a few seats away from Marco. The doctor downed his drink as the new doctor's physique took his breath away. Finding it impossible, and quite awkward, to strike up a conversation with her with a Bolian sitting between them, Marco walked around.
"I hear you are a Doctor?" He hoped he was right. Alice's few sentences was his only key to the conversation. "My nurse said she met you at a conference awhile back."
Before she could answer, and looking confused at the forthcomingness of the doctor, he continued, "Doctor Marco D'Angelo," he outstretched his hand, "I am the USS Vesuvius's CMO. You might have heard of me?" He ended the sentence as an interrogative. It was unlikely she had.
She talked in such a manner that Marco could not tell if he were bothering her or not. The conversation went from Alice, which was the common link in the conversation, to medical facilities. Apparently Katie, which she introduced herself as, knew the station quite well. It was Marco's first time here.
From where he was standing, he could see the crew. Sonak and Crystal were still standing, discussing something casually. Wong was in conversation with the Vulcans. Everyone seemed to have someone to talk to in the crew; all intent on leaving Marco be.
Marco's interest in the crews' happenings was abruptly interrupted when Abernathy asked, "I was going to get a drink, but how would you like a tour of the medical facilities on board? I already finished my dinner." she adjusted her chair so she could get out. Marco lent her a hand. "The main shift is over, so they should be relatively empty. It will make touring much easier."
Marco was glad he hadn't any alcohol in his system. What would a little tour hurt? Nobody had even noticed he was gone from the table, and if they had, they either didn't care or were relieved. And the science officer he met was trapped by the Commodore. "Sure, let's go."
The two professionals walked out of the Crab Shack, heading for the main sickbay.

Crystal was amused more than anything by Tiberian's suggestions for the location of the rest of the senior staff although she also knew that they were certainly possible reasons.
Marco grinned as he left the table for the bar."No problemo, Miss.," he winked, "Crystal" She sighed slightly as he left and shook his head. It was a perfectly sensible request why did he have to... The thought trailed off.
She listened as Tiberian put in his request for drinks, then as the waiter left with the order. "I wonder if we'll actually get out of here before they realise I don't have an account" he whispered. Crystal grinned and was then forced to wash down her mouthful of chicken with water as she realised that laughing would probably end up choking her. The XO certainly knew how to have fun even if he wasn't the most sensible person in the galaxy.
Crystal continued to eat, moving on to dessert. "Greetings," Crystal turned to her left "Commander Rose, is it not?" Crystal nodded a simple response and was impressed with the Commodore's memory. "I overheard you saying something about your previous mission. I would be interested to hear more. Would you care to join me for a walk? Bellicose has magnificent science laboratories, and I would be delighted to show them to you."
Crystal lay her cutlery down, it seemed she was among the last to finish her meal. "That sounds interesting. I haven't had much chance to see the labs on Bellicose yet." The two of them left the table with the coppery haired Vulcan leading the the way. Crystal had a quick glance across to the bar as she spoke but Marco seemed to be chatting to one of the Olympia's doctors.
"Our last mission," Crystal said "It was supposed to be the simple transportation of a rather cranky professor and a very large bomb...
She continued to tell the story as they walked towards the main labs

Snowfall bristled as she saw even more people walk in armed, but as these were starfleet officers, she didn't have much to say about it appeared. The crew seemed relaxed and untroubled by the presence of weapons, and the ranking officer made no comment about it to her subordinates either. She knew the woman, of course, quite well at that, which was what probably irked her more since the woman disliked weapons.
Her combadge beeped and Snowfall retreated back into the shadows, becoming once more unnoticed by the celebrating crew. While she watched several people leave, including the commodore, Snowfall listened to a report coming from security officers on duty in the lower cargo holds. "Understood," she purred, "I'm on my way."
If the crew noticed her departure from the Crab Shack at all, all they would've seen was a white blur pouncing from the room. Seveveral long minutes and a tiresome turbolift ride later, the Sivaoan stood at the entrance of the cargo hold, watching security officers unload both metallic and ancient looking wooden crates from a shuttle. "Suspicious load," one of the officers called, beckoning her over, "they want you to look at it, being an OPS specialist and all that..."
Snowfall cautiously approached, her hand ready on her own weapon. As she was on duty, she was supposed to carry her weapon, even if she preferred the use of her claws and teeth. The officer opened the wooden crate up for her and she leaned in to check on the contents, her tricorder ready. "A corpse?" she snarled, "you called me in for bones in sawdust?" She couldn't tell what sort of bones they were, but they looked ancient and inhuman."
Something leapt from the crate and settled itself into her fur, then buried itself into her skin. Snowfall scratched her fur, thinking the item was just giving her the creeps. She still snarled at the officers, advancing on them. "You call me in for a corspe again and you'll all regret it," she said, her ears lying flat on her head, her tail lashing. Her claws unsheathed and she leapt onto the first guard, slashing his throat, then bounded onto the second and killed him as well.
Shaking her head, she turned and headed back to the party on the promenade level.
OFF: please note that nobody knows Snowfall is the killer. Not until Mr Wong says it can be discovered.

"A professor.." Sonak repeated, listening with interest. "How was this professor involved with this explosive device you mentioned?" They walked on towards the turbolift, boarding the next car which would take them down to the science levels. "Playing ferry service is always fun," Sonak added when Crystal finished her story.
They got off on the designated deck and Sonak took a few seconds to get her bearings again. "We have had our share of interesting passengers, but the most memorable ones are Section Admirals Hepta and Nova, as well as Fleet Admiral Elron. Did you ever hear the tale of the sinking starship? Well, that was my ship..." She continued to reiterate the tale, as they located the science laboratories.
"I do have to warn you, the laboratory levels are well protected and thus are out of range for normal communicators. There appears to be a permanent dampening field engineers have yet been unable to fix. Our communicators will not function here, so while we take the tour, we cannot be contacted by our crewmates."
The Vulcan led the younger woman onwards. "These are the laboratories used for genetic research, further on you will find astrometrics laboratories as well as terraforming research. This level also has a holodeck to run simulations."

Steve quickly snapped awake and stood up. "Computer, lights full." The lights came back on, and Steve squinted at Daniel. "Whoa, slow down there, we got plenty of time..." He glanced at the time on his desk....a full 2 hours past the time when he was supposed to be with everyone else. "...or maybe not." Steve looked at Daniel, who seemed a little nervous. "Loosen up Daniel, I'm not mad at you. I didn't even know I fell asleep. Having kids does that to you. Although, I am pretty sure the mother is supposed to help out as well..." Steve trailed off. Daniel didn't need to know about the problems Steve was having with Arya. She was spending less and less time with him and Renora and was being very distant when she was with them.
"Come on, lets go." He said, making his way for the exit. Once outside, he paused. "On second thoughts, you go ahead and say I am on my way. I will be along shortly, ok?"
"Aye sir." Daniel replied and headed towards the turbolift.
Steve exited out on the the quiet bridge, saw there wasn't much going on and headed out. His destination was the place where most of the damage had occurred....the secondary section of the Olympia.
When Steve stepped onto the secondary bridge, he saw it was busy with engineers all over the place sorting out one thing or another. Right in the middle of it all was Commander Tan.
"David...I have my own excuse for not being at the dinner, but why are you here?" He asked, approaching the Commander.

Tho fish meals weren't Fox' favorite meals here in the Crab Shack he had chosen for salmon. He had felt ordering something else than fish was..... not in place in a restaurant named like this. He had enjoyed everything else that had been served with the salmon, tho a quite large piece of it was still on his plate when some of the crew were already leaving.
He cut another piece off the salmon and ate it. "Definately meat next time." he thought as he chewed on it and got some of the salade served with it. Minutes later he was finally finished with his meal and waved for a waiter. "Can i have a cup of coffee?" he asked "Ofcourse Commander." the waiter answered and left.
A few minutes later he returned and put the cup on the table in front of Fox "Here you are Commander." he said. Fox nodded "thank you." the waiter left again. Fox picked up the cup and took a sip from his coffee while seeing more officers leave the Shack.

"David .. I have my own excuse for not being at the dinner .. But why are you here ?"
"Captain." David said, standing, "I didn't expect you to beam over here."
"It would appear not." Smith said, looking at the activity on the view-screen with interest, "Though my question still stands." he finished, sitting himself in the Executive Officers' seat and motioning for Tan to sit.
"Well you know me Captain .. I'm not one for partying and I honestly couldn't be sure I could cope with Tiberians 'unusual' style .. Especially if his social life is run by the Marine code of conduct too." David said, grinning.
"Hmmm." Steven said, a wry grin appearing on his face too, "What's going on with the repairs ?"
"Progressing much faster than expected .. There's almost no actual structural damage .. Minor fractures .. But nothing that cant be repaired in-situ .. So outer hull plating and some cosmetic work to several corridors and we'll be ready to re-join the primary and tertiary sections."
"Did they give a time-scale ?"
"Under sixty hours .. No longer Captain."
"Steven .. You 'can' call me Steven David .. We're not on duty."
Tan still wasn't sure about the first-name terms thing, but Steven Smith was the Captain, and yes, they had become close friends, so David nodded, a slightly embarrassed look on his face ..
"You staying here ?" the Captain asked, rising from his seat.
"If you don't mind Capt ... Steven .. I really don't feel like joining the others at the moment."
"No .. Me neither if truth be told .. But ......" Steven said with a resigned shrug, "OK .. Keep me apprised of repairs .. See you later David.
With that the Captain made his way to the transporter room .. He hadn't quite decided on his destination, but no doubt it would come to him once on the pad .. Tan watched his friend go, then sat back down .. He'd watch the maintenance crews working for a while he decided .. Then he'd beam to the Primary section and his quarters ..........

Tiberian was talking with Martinez and Alice as he saw Katie leave with D'Angelo from the corner of his eye. He made half a motion to stand up and pursue them at top speed, that was until Martinez pulled him roughly down into his seat.
"Now now then, we don't want to insult one of the Commodore's staf" Martinez said, with all the air of talking to a petulent toddler.
"I wasn't planning on insulting him" Tiberian said, attempting to break free of his Sergeant Major's vice-like grip.
"No, you were just planning on caving his head in with your baton" Martinez sagely corrected, not slackening his grip on Tiberian for a single moment.
"The doctor can be a little...forthright, about his interests. Maybe tagging along might not be such a bad idea" Alice chipped in, addressing the two marines who turned to look at her.
"See" Tiberian said, pulling himself free, straightening his uniform and standing. Both Martinez and Alice did likewise; they obviously felt safer if he was accompanied.
Walking around the table, Tiberian headed for the door, before stopping and thinking. He didn't want to appear really overbearing, and did need a good reason for following the doctors. Looking around, he saw the Vesuvius Xo and the science officer to whom he had been introduced sat alone, as the remainder of the crew filed out. He walked over and struck up a conversation.
"Gentlemen, what are you still doing here?"
<TAG Commander Byrne/Fox>
"Well if neither of you have nothing better to do, would you care to join me, the nurse, and Sergeant Major Martinez. We're going to catch up with Doctor D'Angelo an have a look around the station.
<TAG Commander Byrne/Fox>
The five of them left the restaurant and headed along to the medical facilities, soon catching up with the two doctors in the main sickbay, along with a few other duty personnel.
"Well" Tiberian said smiling as he advanced towards the doctor "You left so suddenly I thought we might as well come and have a look with you. I mean, we really do have all night"
Suddenly, all the power cut out in the room. The lights went blank, as did all the panels and monitors, plunging the room into pitch blackness. Someone screamed a high pitched scream, and Tiberian drew his phaser, assuming Martinez and anyone else who was armed had done the same. Within a matter of moments, red lights came on, bathing the room in a dim red glare. None of the panels had re-activated, but artificial gravity and the atmosphere were still constant. This meant that they only had auxilliary power, providing them with completely minimal functions. Everything else was offline. Tiberian tapped his commbadge.
"Lieutenant Colonel Wong to Ops, report"
There was no answer.
<TAG All>
OOC: Ok guys, we're now trapped with only minimal functions. That means no central computer, communicators, turbolifts, or even functioing doors. We don't know what's happened yet, so just respond appropriately for your character and do what you would do in this situation.

As dinner finished up and the crew started to thin, Tovan finished up the last few bites of his salad. The waiter came and took the plate away, and Tovan found himself looking at a couple more people still remaining in the small restaurant. He noted with interest that the cat-like bodyguard at left. Odd, he had not seen her leave. Tovan debated what to do next. Finally, he decided to take some exercise time on the station holosuites. He had heard that some of the combat programs were particularly fine.
He turned towards the new marine. “I believe I will go to the holosuite for some exercise. You are welcome to join me if you so desire.”
<TAG Larok>
Tovan had bristled slightly at Sonak’s comment about him not being a typical Vulcan. Yes, he had been having emotional problems recently, but that had been the result of external psychic influence, and should not be a matter for public discussion. As he walked to the holosuite, he resolved to inform the Commodore of his displeasure. In the meantime, some exercise would do him so good.
Tovan stepped through the doors of the holosuite. “Specify program,” the computer intoned.
“Display exercise programs and run at random,” Tovan replied. Something new might be an interesting experience. The holodeck shimmered, revealing the landscape of a Klingon calisthenics program. Tovan picked up the provided weapon. This would be interesting.
Suddenly, the holoemitters whined, and a bright flash nearly blinded Tovan as the holodeck overloaded. In the ensuing explosion, he was flung against the wall, hitting his head. The last thing he remembered was the holodeck suddenly going very dark…

"A professor.." Sonak repeated, listening with interest. "How was this professor involved with this explosive device you mentioned?" Crystal went with the simple answer. "He designed and built it and then while we en route to the decommissioning center he lost it completely. A combination of post traumatic stress, an increasing psychosis and degenerative radiation damage apparently. Anyway... " She carried on telling the tale.
"Playing ferry service is always fun," Sonak added when Crystal finished her story.
Crystal followed as the Vulcan led the way through the maze that was Starbase Bellicose.
"We have had our share of interesting passengers, but the most memorable ones are Section Admirals Hepta and Nova, as well as Fleet Admiral Elron. Did you ever hear the tale of the sinking starship? Crystal vaguely remembered hearing something that fitted that description and she nodded. "Well, that was my ship..." She continued to reiterate the tale, as they located the science laboratories.
"I do have to warn you, the laboratory levels are well protected and thus are out of range for normal communicators. There appears to be a permanent dampening field engineers have yet been unable to fix. Our communicators will not function here, so while we take the tour, we cannot be contacted by our cremates."
The two of them walked onwards "These are the laboratories used for genetic research, further on you will find astrometrics laboratories as well as terraforming research. This level also has a holodeck to run simulations."
Crystal was intrigued and if she was honest ready to drool a little this was a top rate research facility and a guided tour was wonderful. They had just walked into one of the main lab spaces when the lights went out.
"Commodore?" Crystal called and was relieved when the Vulcan woman answered.
As her eyes adjusted to the dim lighting provided by axillary circuits and a bioluminesce experiment running in the corner of the lab, Crystal relaxed. It wasn't the first time she had been in a lab that had suddenly been blacked out. For some reason the lighting circuits always seemed to be the first thing to over load when there was an energy discharge. She raised a hand to her comm badge and then with a sigh remembered what Sonak had said about the dampening field. She couldn't get the answers that way.
She wandered to one of the computer terminals intending to see how long it would take for the lights to come back. She touched the screen and was surprised when it didn't burst into life.
"I think main power is out." Crystal said. She was trying to keep her voice flat but she could hear a quaver in it, mainly because she couldn't think of a reason for main power to suddenly go out that didn't mean they were in a lot of trouble. She took a deep breath and tried to force herself to think. "Come on," she muttered aloud to herself "this can't be harder than dealing with ticking bomb..."
"Right." She spoke again in a more normal tone of voice. "I guess we're going to need a proper light, a way to open the doors...." She pulled open one of the storage cupboards as she spoke and started rummaging.
"Can you think of anything else?" Crystal asked
(Sonak)
"I'll go through this set of cupboards, would you mind starting on the others?"
(Sonak)

As the get-together went on, Commodore Reckus made an introduction, “Ladies and Gentlepeople, I would like to introduce the newest crewmember of the Vesuvius. Lieutenant Larok shall, upon confirmation of Admiral Elron, serve with us as Senior Marine Officer. Please give him a suitable welcome and be certain you introduce yourself.”
Ensign An waited for the flocking crowd to scatter from Lieutenant Larok before making his own introduction. An watched the other people’s mannerisms and personalities in action, making mental notes again on their hand movements and facial expressions.
When the crowd floated away, An made his way through the crowed Crab Shack. People laughed, glasses chimed together among a mix of various alien greetings. A beautiful Andorian waitress bumped into An and asked if he wanted a drink. An responded with the usual, “No thank you, Miss; I don’t drink.” “It’s ok, it’s just Synthehol,” the waitress pressed on. “Thank you Miss, but I want to abstain from even the appearance of drinking alcohol,” An answered, “thank you anyway.” The waitress rolled her eyes and turned to serve other guests. An almost turned to follow her, but remembered his duties as Security Chief and the introduction he should make with Larok.
Finally, after continuing his trudge through the crowd, An found himself standing next to the Vulcan lieutenant. An introduced himself, “Excuse me, Lieutenant Larok, I’m Ensign Anthony An, Chief Security Officer aboard the Vesuvius-A. I would appreciate any advice you can give me.”
As An spoke to Larok, Larok turned his head toward Tovan and spoke across the doctor. The doctor squirmed uncomfortably in his seat as the Vulcan’s voice flooded his ear. An leaned back on the swarming table of people behind him.
Tovan and Larok engaged in a Vulcan dispute. As Larok got up and sat in the doctor’s vacant seat, An moved casually to Larok’s previous seat, ordered Sicilian Grape Juice and listened to their conversation.
Unexpectedly, the lights died. Some people yelled and hollered as the lights went out, but the ears could pick out the scattered moaning of engineers.
“Ensign An to Commodore Reckus,” An spoke into his combadge, but it only buzzed back at him. No communicators, only auxiliary power then.
After the dim red emergency lights activated, An began asking random crew members about the commodore’s whereabouts.
“I heard she left for the science laboratories,” an unidentified voice answered from the darkness.
“Thank you very much,” An said back in the voice’s general direction.
An climbed onto the table, knocking over his empty glass of juice. He raised his hands and yelled “hey!” to get everyone’s attention.
“I’m the Chief of Security for the Vesuvius-A,” the ensign shouted in his most authoritative voice, “I want all Vesuvius-A crew members to meet me outside of the Crab Shack,” An repeated his instruction and jumped down from the table.
Shortly, a handfull of the Vesuvius crew circled outside the Crab Shack’s entrance.
“We need to stay together until we know why we lost power,” advised An, “I want us all to head together to the starbase laboratories to receive further orders from the Commodore.” With that, the small Vesuvius band made their way through the dimly lit darkness.
The ensign's instincts told him that something was wrong, something more serious than a mere power failure, but he could not put his finger on it. An prayed silently as they walked through the black, winding corridors, "there is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves."

Marco rubbed his shoulder the minute that Kate turned toward the reddish glow on sickbay's panels. Her scream, then fall when she tripped, stopped short due to Marco's quick reaction. The downside was, it strained a muscle. He wasn't about to show any weakness, not in front of this Wong character. He came across as quite the meat-head, and although Marco had been quite the athlete in his early years in college, he was also not dead from the head up. Wong's abnormal intrusion wreaked of some sort of jealousy to anyone that knew him, but Marco, oblivious to Wong's ties with the girl... woman... went about his business as usual. It was just an innocent walk through sickbay.
"Is everyone OK?"
Nobody complained.
The Doctor, contrary to what many may have believed, did not panic. He wasn't scared of situations most people were normally nervous in. He was finicky, not a pile of nerves. Dirt and grime was his undoing. A simple power outage just forced mood lighting for the two doctors. At least, that's what ran through his mind.
Kate had other plans. After thanking Marco for the catch, and watching Marco swoon as he looked into her eyes, she decided it would be best to move across the room and access an operations panel. She didn't intend to lead on the doctor... even though he was cute...
Internal communications systems were off, as Marco couldn't contact Sonak. She could handle herself easily. And if any in her party needed medical assistance, her and Jatan were both Doctors. His passing thought was that Miss Crystal would be in good hands.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" he asked Colonel Wong. The marine responded a bit coarsely, to Marco's surprise. Wong must not like doctors, he decided. He'd had that attitude before from many officers, and each time he never understood it.

After acknowledging the Commodore's introduction to the gathering in the Crab Shack, Logan perched himself again a far wall. Watching the feline and the Doctor, well being the Doctor, he amused himself standing i the background to see who he was against in the room. Avoiding the Commodore's glances, he shrugged off the comment of being one of the Commodore's guys.
As the Doctor left the room with one of the female members of the other crew, he started snickering, slightly out loud. As the persons around him looked at little odd at him, he relieved himself from the party and headed to the Main Station Cargo bays and beamed his 'special package' aboard to his quarters to play a little combat traing on the alternate holodeck.
Dropping by his quarters, he tossed the formal uniform aside and geared up in his attack training clothes. Donning his suit, he headed for the Combat Training Holodeck. En route, he heard Comm traffic that the Commodore had left the Crab Shack. Plus, he owed the Doctor a little knock-knock as the Station systems went down.

"Gentlemen, what are you still doing here?"
Fox looked up at Tiberian, putting his cup down on the table again and smiled. "Just enjoying shoreleave as i assume we'll be called back to the Vesuvius for a mission soon again."
Well if neither of you have nothing better to do, would you care to join me, the nurse, and Sergeant Major Martinez. We're going to catch up with Doctor D'Angelo an have a look around the station.
Fox nodded "Would love to join you all." Fox got up from his chair and followed Tiberian out of the restaurant heading for the medical facilities where the two doctors went. They met in main sickbay. Fox walked to the middle of it and looked around. "Not much has changed." he thought. He wasn't very fond of being here now, in the past he had spend too much time in it.
He looked back at the others who were standing by a table. Then suddenly the lights went out. It was pitch dark and Fox tried to walk to a table, but stumbled over something and fell. He crawled further till he felt something that could be the table he was heading for. Seconds later the red lights went on and he saw it was indeed the table.
"What's happening?" he asked to the others he had been with and got up from the floor. He heard Tiberian trying his comm-badge without much luck. He looked at the sickbay exit, he knew he didn't want to stay here and walk to the doors. As he stood in front of them the doors stayed shut. He tried to small panel next to it, but nothing happend. It seemed they were stuck in there.
Fox turned around and looked at one of the doctors "Are there other ways to leave here?" The doctor nodded "But only through the tubes." Fox looked at Tiberian "We have to get to the operations section to find out what is going on, looks like the tubes are the only way."

They had been walking through the laboratories, examining interesting specimens of this and that when suddenly the lights went out. Sonak heard Crystal call out for her and she answered in response. Reaching out, she found the edge of one of the tables and used it as a lead to get to the younger woman. "Suggestions..." she pondered, while making sure to keep close to the science officer. "Not at present, other than getting out of this lab. I saw a containment field earlier, so it cannot be anything harmless contained in there. With the power cut, who knows what was just released."
She fell silent, listening to Crystal mentioning the cupboards. "Miss Rose, I realise now may be a bad time, but I believe you should know I cannot see in the darkness. I am...quite blind in the dark, thus searching cupboards I fear is something I cannot assist you with unless we find palmlights somewhere."
The Vulcan remained standing where she had stood before, afraid to lose her hold on the table and get lost in the laboratory or even hurting herself while trying to move. "We should try and contact the others," she suggested, then remembered their combadges would not work. "And we should leave..."
There was a certain amount of fear in her voice, even though she tried to keep her voice even and devoid of emotion. It wouldn't do to panic now; there was nothing wrong with being stuck in the darkness, and the lab was not small either. But that containmentfield...she hadn't seen what was in there and that frightened her. "Crystal?" she called out, when the woman hadn't answered her statement. "Have you found anything?"

* As the party began to break up and everyone moved on with their own agendas, Larok picked up his bat'lth and headed toward the docking ring to settle into his new quarters on the Vesuvius. As he approached the turbo-lifts he was passed by a white blur and the turbo lift closed as he approached.*
Larok: Odd; she seemed to be in a hurry.
*Larok entered the next lift.*
TL: Level Please.
Larok: Docking level 2 the Vesuvius please.
* As the turbo lift began it's journey Larok decided that this crew was defiantly atypical for Vulcan's'. He just might fit right in. As he neared the ship he was recognized and waved on through. Stopping at the first com panel Larok secured his cabin number. Entering his room he began to unpack his uniforms and got out of his Dress Blues. Larok sat down at his terminal to begin looking over the files of the Marine detachment assigned to the Vesuvius. As he began to read the first file......*
Computer: Yellow alert this is not a drill Secure all hatches and isolate all connections from the station.
Larok: Lt Larok to the bridge what is going on?
Duty Officer: This is Lt Reed the Beta shift duty officer, the station has experienced a complete power loss and I can not contact any of our senior officers except you.
Larok: I am on my way, Computer locate Master Sergent Jones and have him meet me on the bridge.
*Larok grabbed his bat'lth along with his combat harness and headed to the bridge. As he exited the turbo lift his Sergent was waiting.*
MSG Jones: Sir the squad is gearing up and will be ready to deploy if needed.
Larok: Lt you may keep the con, deploy your security teams to secure the ship I will take my squad and see if we can find our people. Gunny take extra palm lights and issue everyone tricorders, med kits, and we'll need some damage control equipment to open stuck doors. Go.
MSG Jones: Aye Aye sir;
*The Master Sergent moved off to get everything ready. Larok moved to the science station to see what information could be gained.*

Snowfall stood hunched over her latest kill, her claws dripping with blood. Earlier she had destroyed a major powerconduit, huddling the entire station in darkness and with it she had cut power to the communications systems. Those that were still aboard starships were still able to leave it, but once they left it, they could not return. The airlocks worked ship to starbase only, but no longer starbase to ship.
The feline had acquired a weapon from one of her p.revious kills, a dagger that resembled her own claws; she would use it to frame the species it belonged to. Flicking her tail, she now perceived a new idea. There were two starship crews on leave on the station, she had seen them earlier in the Crab Shack. It would be a good sport to hunt them down she thought, as she stormed off in the darkness. Unlike humanoids, Snowfall had perfect sight in darkness, her innate senses honed for the hunt. It had been too long since she had any decent hunt.
Prowling through the jeffries tubes on Bellicose, her nose picked up the scent of fear and she followed it, coming upon crewmembers of the Vesuvius and the Olympia. She snuck up to them and grabbed one of the female crewmembers. The woman screamed in terror as Snowfall grabbed her and slashed her throat, tossing her, like a rag doll, towards the men in her group. Then she disappeared into the adjacent corridor and observed how the group reacted.
