As soon as all the officers were confirmed to have returned to the ship Nika ordered the helm officer to leave Bajor's orbit, then to proceed at warp 7 to J'Mrak, a smallish planet that the Victory had been ordered to help evacuate.
=/\=Captain Cir'Kem to all senior staff, please report to the briefing room in thirty minutes.=/\= Nika thought that would be enough time for those who had been on the surface to be ready, but there would still be plenty of time before they would be arriving at J'Mrak.
The half hour passed rather quickly, as Nika investigated the planet, making sure that the Victory would be able to support the reported number of inhabitants and that there shouldn't be any difficulties with people not wanting to be evacuated. Nika was the first person in the briefing room, but that was because she was early. She didn't mind waiting some on other people, but, since she had been the one to call the meeting, she didn't think anyone should have to wait for her.
The new medical officer was the first there, and Nika nodded and welcomed the officer formally aboard the ship. Given the chaos of when Ensign Isis had arrived Nika hadn't yet had a chance to make sure the new officer had her quarters and all. The Ensign demonstrated that she had learned her craft well, extricating a promise from Nika that the Captain would come down to sickbay at some point. The silence had gone on a little long when other people started arriving.

Tiberian left Nack and Youngblood in the transporter room, shaking his head as he led the marines back down to their armoury, backpacks and crates in tow. He was surprised that a simple childhood tiff could result in attempted murder, especially with the firepower they were using. As they arrived and laid down their kit for storage, TIberian called out. "Okay men, new rule. No shore leave on any planet where you've annoyed somebody. That means no Risa for Gates, no Tarsus III for T'lar, and nowhere this side of the Betreka nebula for Bob" The men laughed at this, and Bob looked sheepish. "Bob" was only a nickname, the Andorian's full name being unpronouncable without a mouthful of phlegm. Regrettably, Bob didn't live up to his mild mannered name, and had caused quite a drunken sexual ruckus on most of the planets he had visited. In truth, in the seven or so months that Tiberian had been on the Victory, he had had to fob off many inquisitive enquiries by local law enforcement as to whether or not he had an Andorian private in his company. "Alright lads" he announced "Kit and weapons back where they came from. Clean and tidy in ten, then get to your normal rota posts" He left them with Martinez shouting orders for the equipment to be stored in a certain way. Carrying his own pack, he returned slowly to his quarters. Technically he wasn't on duty for at least an hour, and so had plenty of time. He entered and began laying out his gear on his bed, putting each piece back where it had come from. The cigar and sunglasses went back in his foot locker both having seen nowhere near enough action on the surface. He then thought back on the events of the last two days, folding his empty backpack away, and then sitting on the floor in quiet contemplation. The weapons that had been used were extreme, military standard, as had been the case with their training. The 50. calibre phaser pulse cannon alone was an impressive piece of hardware, not to mention the variety of weapons used. Standing, he went to his computer terminal and prepared a message to send to Captain Dhaget on the surface, to look into the source of the weapons. Tiberian wondered if this waas only revenge, or if Nack's attacker had had his finger in a few more pies. In the middle of his message, an announcement sounded for a staff meeting in 30 minutes. Finishing quickly, Tiberian showered and changed into a fresh normal uniform, his fatigues being folded into his bottom drawer. With a few minutes to spare, Tiberian replicated himself a sandwich, and juggled this with his phaser, baton, knife and tricorder as he tried to fasten his belt around himself. Moments later he emerged fully dressed from his quarters and proceeded to the nearest turbolift, the sandwich still lodged in his mouth. He entered the bridge, and, with no other senior officers present, made a quick circuit to check everything was running smoothly. Finished, he walked into the conference room, to see the Captain and Commander Matthew already sat, along with a young ensign of a strange complexion, with a strange device protruding from her ear. Tiberian suddenly noticed that he ahd been staring at her. This came from two reason. One, she was staring back at him, and two he had walked the full length of the table, and was on his way out of the other door without ever having taken his eyes off of her. Clearing his throat he sat down near the Captain. "My apologies" he said briefly, taking up a padd and reading the mission report. The other officers entered, and when all were seated and reading the mission report, Tiberian began with a point. "I can see we're going to have a big job on our hands Captain, but how are we going to distribute personnel efficiently? The way I can see it, we'll need a lot of people on the ground to manage the crowds and any panic riots, but that would leave us dangerously vulnerable on ship. I'd like to put forward a recommendation that all key areas like the bridge and engineering and the Jeffries tubes system be locked down to all but Starfleet personnel with appropriate codes. I know it sounds like me and my usual paranoia, but I just don't like the idea of a few thousand people wandering the ship at will"

"Sounds acceptable to me. Captain?" Nack responded to Tiberian's concern, as he walked in late to the meeting. "Sorry - the sonic showers were on the fritz again." Nack shook his head to the side trying to get the water out of his ear.
Seeing the new Ensign sitting at the table, Nack welcomed her. "I'm sure you'll do just fine. Let me know if you have any questions."
"He used to be a doctor." Tiberian quipped sarcastically.
"I still AM a doctor - I just help run a ship now." Turning to Isis, "As I was saying - welcome - and if you need anything let me know."
The Captain began speaking, but the slight echo in the room resonated some standing water still left in the Commander's ear. His fierce head shaking was causing his front two cranial lobes to become sore.
The mission sounded interesting. He would have another chance to coordinate crew. Hopefully this time nobody would attack him this time.
As Nika continued to brief, Nack started daydreaming about what happened on Bajor. Tiberian didn't really buy his story about his childhood problems with Torlal - but then again, Tiberian didn't really believe much of anything Nack said If it were true, it would be a pretty large retaliation. The Ferengi wasn't about to tell anyone why that attack occurred. It was embarrassing, and should not have involved them. Hopefully the crew would move on... even though Nack, himself, was having a hard time letting it go.
The ship jolted as it shift direction, feeling the phase lag in the inertial damper. Nack broke out of his daydream, and continued to listen to Nika - realizing once again that all the water was not out of his left ear.

“That sounds...” paranoid, Nika thought, but she'd been there, and just because something seemed paranoid didn't mean it couldn't happen, “fine. Personnel are going to need to be shuffled a little, since we're going to be close-ish to our maximum capacity: we'll have 7,800 people, counting crew. The arrangements you've suggested can be combined with that.” Nika nodded slightly, closing that particular topic.
Nika wasn't a huge plan of talking when nothing needed to be said. She would be happier just leaving the senior staff to reading the mission plan on their own, especially when the mission plan was as simple as this: go in, rescue people, deliver them to a planet that had volunteered to take on some 5,000 refugees, mostly research personnel, although there were quite a few other professions, and children. But there were a few things that were important enough to require note.
“This colony has been present for the last fifteen years on the edge of the Romulan border. The inhabitants are prepared to be rescued by the Victory, but we should, when possible, cooperate with their wishes. They're the ones that are being asked to leave their homes. Any questions?” Nika asked, considering the briefing almost over, unless there were a lot of questions.

The briefing having finished, Tiberian emerged from the conference room and moved to a science station at the back of the bridge. Here he looked over the provisional security protocols in place, and began to make revisions. He probably shouldn't have jibed at Nack during the briefing, but he was such an easy target, he really did bring it upon himself. He looked over the estimated population of the planet, and suddenly hit upon a snag. The Captain hadn't been lying when she said that the Victory would be operating at near maximum capacity, and his research revealed that the ship would be near to bursting. He looked for nearly half an hour through contingencies and alternative plans before calling Commander Matthew over to look at his suggestions. "Sir" TIberian said as the Commander approached "I've just been looking thorugh what we're going to do about the number of people we are taking on board. Given we already have 750 crew, and we are taking on an additional 7000, space will be really tight, especially when we're trying to run the ship. So..." he hit a few buttons and a moving display came up on the screen "I thought about this. Firstly we move as many of the crew into each others quarters on Decks 1-8 then well clear up nearly six decks worth of empty quarters to put the refugees into. I was also thinking about putting maybe two crew into each of the shuttlecraft we have on board and deploying them once we reached the planet. Then they can follow us until we reach the drop site, and we'll gain all the shuttlebays for emergency billeting. That and the space we'll gain if we move stuff a bit closer together in the cargobays, and we might just be able to do this without having hundreds of people lining the corridors. What do you think sir"
<TAG Comander Matthew>
"Very good sir" TIberian nodded "I'll leave it to you to tell the Captain. I'd also like to bring up the point you raised in the briefing about criminals. We don't really have the space for isolation, so we're just going to have to hedge our bets. The brig is going to be used for housing, so I thought that perhaps you could make sure that all the security lockouts are only available to the Victory personnel. Mr Youngblood and I will have constant roaming patrols, but just to make sure"
<TAG Commander Matthew>
Once the Commander had left, Tiberian returned to his screen. He was going to love seeing Nack's face when he found out that his XO's quarters would be home to an additional 15 or so personnel. Tiberian called over to the tactical station. "Mr Youngblood, a word in your ear" Yahnie approached, and Tiberian explained the plan to him "So that's it for housing arrangements. In regards to the key areas, I'm going to put two or three marines on each door, but it would be better if you left one or two security personnel inside each area as insurance. Seeing as we can't confine them we'd be better off policing them. Until we have all the refugees onboard you and yours will probably have to manage by yourselves; I anticipate whatever part of the marines haven't been put down for security duties will be shepherding the people into a transporter zone. I'd recommend two or three man roaming patrols, but we can co-ordinate that later"
<TAG Lieutenant Youngblood>
"Mahor Wong to Martinez" Tiberian said, tapping his comm badge. "Martinez here" came the reply "Alright Jose, get the boys together. I want three men on each of the following locations, bridge, engineering, sickbay, the phaser and torpedo control rooms, the armoury and all four transporter rooms. How many does that leave us with?" "Sixty" the Sergeant Major answered. "Alright, have everyone prepped with standard gear and phaser rifles, and tell the remaining sixty to brush up on riot and crowd control, we'll be facilitating the evacuation" "Yes sir" the comm line was closed. Thinking back to the housing issue, Tiberian walked over to where Nack was sat, and sitting in the advisors chair, brought up the issue of housing in the cargo and shuttlebays.

The Ferengi officer took the padd from Commander Matthew, giving it an approving skim. Fore the commander's sake, he scrolled through, pretending to be interested. It wasn't because Nack didn't care, but because Commander Matthew had never submitted anything substandard before, and Nack had more pressing matters to tend to.
"I agree with the background checks, but surely you don't suggest we check everyone."
Commander Matthew's silence suggested he did.
"Well - if you can devise a way to do it quickly, I'll be all for it. Perhaps you can get with Ensign Isis and Lieutenant Shelby. You could probably get them to build some sort of bio-scanner that will cross-reference with our database. The starfleet database should hav--- well, you are an ops officer, you know what it has. Anyway - why don't you give that a try?"
<Isis, Shelby, Matthew>
"In the meantime, I am going to be getting my new room ready."
Matthew left, and Nack stood there with the padd in his hand, now loaded with the rooming assignment. He had previously noted that there were going to be guests (many guests!) in his room. It wasn't unreasonable. In fact, Nack was going to suggest it. On the Vesuvius, he had spent many nights in sickbay, sleeping at his desk or on the biobeds. That's just what he was going to do... he just had to remind himself to talk to Ensign Isis to make sure a bio bed would be free.

Lieutenant Youngblood was in the transporter room with alpha team and the marines that beamed aboard with him. Yahnie turned to his team and spoke to his team and said”Go ahead and store your gear and get cleaned up. Yahnie headed to the briefing room and sat down and listen to the mission at hand. “Excuse me, May I suggest if we don’t have enough room we can double up on the Officers to free more space.” “I know it would be a Burdon on everyone but this would only be temporary.” said Lt. Youngblood. After the briefing, Yahnie went up to the bridge so that the Victory would get on her way. Yahnie stepped out of the turbo lift and on to the bridge and went over to his station at tactical. Tiberian called over to the tactical station. "Mr. Youngblood, a word in your ear" Yahnie approached, and Iberian explained the plan to him "So that's it for housing arrangements. In regards to the key areas, I'm going to put two or three marines on each door, but it would be better if you left one or two security personnel inside each area as insurance. I'd recommend two or three man roaming patrols, but we can co-ordinate that later" ”How many teams do you think we will need?” We should coronate with the marines to see if we have enough people?” “I will be able to start with my most experience and go from there.” said Youngblood. <Tag Tiberian> Off:

Nika directed Commander Matthew to talk with Major Wong about coordinating most of their security efforts, then, seeing that there were no further questions, she ended the briefing and returned to the bridge. She knew she would need to move her stuff from her room to wherever she should end up, but first she'd have to know where it was she was moving. She wasn't overly fond of the idea of giving up her room—even if it was temporary—but she thought the people the Victory was evacuating would like it even less.
“There's a ship hailing us,” Nika was told, breaking her thoughts off.
“What kind of ship?” Nika asked.
“Romulan—Bird of Prey, I think?”
“Drop out of warp,” Nika ordered the acting navigation officer, Lieutenant Girade. She didn't know what a Romulan Bird of Prey was doing a fair distance into Federation space, but she figured it was her duty to figure it out as quickly as possible, then resume on course to rescue the people. “Now reply to their hail.”
“Their ship has suffered heavy damages in some other battle, I don't know how much longer it will hold together,” Lieutenant Lasooux told her, but then the picture on the viewscreen changed, showing a Romulan, but dressed in civilian clothing.
“You need to go to J'Mrak. There's people there, that need rescuing. The stability of the planet's rotation was affected by an asteroid, and a full evacuation is necessary.”
“Yes, the Victory was on its way there,” Nika informed the Romulan.
“That's good then. Just make sure you get there soon. And maybe you should call for additional—”
Nika glanced around for Commander Matthew as the screen blanked for a second, a sign that the signal had been lost. Then the viewscreen returned to a view of the stars, and Nika watched as the Romulan ship kind of fell apart, too fast for anyone who had been aboard to have been transported off. Nika muttered something to herself.
“Orders, sir?” Lieutenant Girade asked.
“Continue to J'Mrak,” Nika said, puzzled by the incident. She'd have to tell the other senior staff about this first, then send an official report to Starfleet Command. But she didn't see how this communication changed the situation.

Tiberian had been sitting on his seat on the bridge as the whole incident with the Romulan vessel had unfolded. "Now that wasn't strange at all" he said sarcastically, as he drew his console round in order to scan the wreckage. All he could tell was that the weapons ised on the bird of prey were a type three disruptor, and that could mean anything from Breen to Klingon, or maybe even Romulan. He said as much to the Captain.
<TAG Captain Cir'Kem>
"Anyway ma'am, I'll get on with prepping the ship for the arrival of the refugees" he saluted and left the bridge, ordering the turbolift to the armoury. He entered, with the entire marine company standing around talking idly. On his arrival they came to attention and huddled around him. "Alright lads. We've got thirty of you distributed throughout the ship, so protect your areas there. The rest of you will be with me on the surface for the first few hours. There are roughly 7000 people to get on board, and the transporters can handle about 700 an hour, so we'll be planet side for about 10 hours. Remember, we're being invited to evacuate them, so don't lets get pushy. At least unless absolutely necessary" He smiled "In the meantime, we're having a bit of a shift round to make room for the refugees. My section of thirty will be moving into my quarters for the duration, so stow and shift gear in the next thirty minutes. Sergeant Major Martinez and his section will be moving into the Captain's quarters. Please remember that she is a lady and with a lady's sensitivities, so behave like gentlemen, or else. Gunny Hightower, you and yours will be in with the XO, try not to make too much of a mess. I'll want you guys shifted in the same time frame. Now then, once that's sorted, I want My section in cargobays one and two, and Gunny Hightower's in thre and four. Shifty all the cargo closer together and start freeing up some sleeping space. Lay down blankets, lights, rations, the whole nine yards" The marines began to grumble, the new assignment sounding a lot like a babysitting job. A grunt and cold stare from Tiberian soon got them up and moving with smiles on their faces. "Martinez, you and your section with me, we're going to see about Ten Forward and the shuttlebays" his marines followed him as he exited the armoury and made his way to Ten Forward. The word had already been transmitted and announced about the double bunking, and the corridors were packed with all available personnel moving into each others quarters. Tiberian hoped this would only be temporary, and could imagine the CO and other senior staff, along with the rank and file, hopng the same. Quarters that were supposed to be luxurious for one, were about to become crammed for thirty one. Tiberian saw this as necessity and shook it off. They entered Ten Forward, and TIberian gave orders for all the tables and chairs to be stacked and put against the walls. He then ordered blankets, lights and rations to be replicated and set up around the room, with him helping them to lay out enough space for nearly over a hundred people. As the marines finished off, Tiberian tapped hims comm badge. "Major Wong to Lieutenant Girade" "Girade here sir" "What is the shuttle compliment onboard Mister Girade?" "13 varying shuttle classes" came the reply "Do we have enough free trained personnel to put a two man crew on each?" Tiberian continued. "Yes sir, why?" "Prep and brief all the relevant personnel asap, your discretion of choice Mr Girade. Tell them to deploy and follw the Vic at the relevant speed in order to free up the shuttle bays for the refugees. Make it happen yesterday Lieutenant" "Yes sir" came the slightly puzzled reply. Obviously not everyone got his colloquial language. He tapped his comm badge again. "Major Wong to Captain Cir'Kem" "Cir'Kem here" "I've got Ten Forward and all four cargo bays set up for the refugees ma'am. Give me half an hour and we can start on the shuttlebays too. We'll have the empty quarters in a few hours as well, once the on duty personnel get their kit shifted into each others quarters. I also wnated to elt you know, that, err..." Tiberian hesitated, before deciding the direct approach was the best "You're going to be sharing your quarters with about thirty marines in order to save space. Is there anything else that needs to be done to prep the Vic for the refugees ma'am" He sighed, having changed the topic of conversation away from sleeping arrangements as dextruously as possible.

--finishing up in Sickbay, Nack received the message that they had arrived at the colony. Nobody had informed him of the Romulan incident, since he wasn't present at the time. Captain Cir'Kem would fill him in later, but only after it was too late.
Nack arrived on the bridge with a seemingly frantic Commander Matthew coordinating the evacuation effort. After a few minutes of catching up with the madness, Commander Nack approached the Matthew.
"Anything I can help with?"
Without looking, he handed a padd to the Ferengi First Officer. It had a list of quarantine procedures on it. Since Ensign Isis was busy with Lieutenant Shelby building a mass decontamination chamber in the cargo bay, the first set of evacuees would have to be checked individually by a doctor. Nack, being a doctor, was an obvious choice.
"I'll head down to cargo bay 1." Nack said, feeling rather odd to be receiving orders from a lower-ranking officer. It was at that point that he realized that Matthews was acting frantic, but rather he was acting well coordinated. He had great respect for the officer.
Arriving in the cargo bay, he saw that half of the bay was sectioned off by Lieutenant Shelby. He approached Nack excitedly.
"This is amazing, how this works..." The Lieutenant continued explaining how the system was the first of its kind. The evacuees would be immediately beamed into the chamber, where he had placed extra pattern buffers to handle the increased load. Doctor Isis had integrated the programming from the biobed into the chamber's computer, rather proudly. One of the engineers on duty signaled they were ready for a test. A command was given to the computer, and a large flash occurred inside the chamber, visible through the plated windows scattered around the exterior.
"Impressive..." Nack said, reading the data streaming out. The dummy information contained all the biological information from those inside. It was a test, so the data was useless... but it was a proof of functionality. "When will this be ready to use?"
"In 3 hours. We still are having a problem getting the data to cross-reference with the Starfleet Database." Shelby replied.
"We need it in two hours. I don't want to be here all day checking people in one-by-one."
Shelby reluctantly agreed to see what he could do, and he and Isis returned back to work.

Tiberian and his men were finishing kitting up when the word reacged them that they had arrived at J'Mrak. As m uch space as could be found had been created and isolated, with the marines guarding any key areas, and the security personnel roaming the ship. Now Tiberian and his men headed down to the main transporter room each armed and all ready to get some serious crowd control done. "Remember" Tiberian warned as the first group got onto the transporter padd "Softly softly approach. I don't want them causing too much trouble" A flash of light, and the first six marines were planet side, follwed by the remaining 54 of their compatriots. The security personnel commanded by Lieutenant Youngblood beamed down soon after, and a secure perimeter of tape and beacons was established in the central square of the habitat area. A security runner had been sent to fetch a member of the local populations ruling body, and soon returned with a female scientist in her mid fifties. Her grey hair was pulled back in a ponytail that passed her neck, and her face was creased with slight wrinkles and the occasional mole. She was wearing a grey jumpsuit, covered by a white coat. She introduced herself. "I'm Doctor Melissa Sandron, senior researcher in particle physics at this facility" Tiberian saluted. "I'm Marine Major Wong, Federation Marine Corps, and this is Lieutenant Youngblood, Chief Tactical and Security officer aboard the USS Victory. We're here to assist in the evacuation of this colony" "Thank you Major, Lieutenant" Dr Sandron inclined her head to both officers "We're prepared to do as you say, and we have already seen to all the packing of any items that are going to be shipped with us" Tiberian grimaced momentarily. Space was tight enough without a load of bulky research equipment to stow. But he was here to help, so space could always be found. "Very well Doctor" Just then a message came in for Youngblood, telling him that the Vic was ready to start beaming onboard. "We'll beam them in segregated groups to make things easier ship side" Tiberian said to Youngblood "Familys with children and old people first, at least until we have the decon chamber working. He turned to the Doctor. "Doctor Sandron, if you could please have any families with elderly people or young children come forwards first, we'll start beaming them immediately. Those researchers and their equipment will have to wait" He strode back within the cordoned area, and made an opening to allow entry. Slowly the area around the cordon became packed with jostling families and their belongings, each trying to get to the front. As the marines held those pushy ones at the front back, Tiberian moved to the front and shouted. "Can we have some quiet please" no response, the noise from the crowd drowning him out. He tried again, to no avail. "Enough of this" he muttered to himself. He turned to Martinez "Microfusion flare please, Sergeant Major" Martinez handed the small pistol over, a warning raise of his eyebrows accompanying it. Tiberian shrugged and pointed the pistol aloft, firing off a burst of white energy that detonated overhead with a sharp bang, crackle, and a burst of white light. There was a brief scream from the crowd, and then hush fell. "That's better" Tiberian said loudly "Now everyone is getting out of here, so long as you do as we say, and let us do it in an orderly and proficient manner. Now them, we'll beam you up in groups of six, those with children first, then those with the elderly, then any people who are non-essential to the research teams, and finally any key researchers and their equipment. The whole process to move all 7000 of you will take about ten hours, so be quiet, patient, and time will just fly by" He finished, and nodded to Youngblood to take charge, as the marines admitted the first group of six into the transporter cordon. He turned back to Doctor Sardon. "Any research that you have I would advise transmitting to the ship Doctor. It would save space if anything that could be saved as a datafile be left behind. Our operations officer will undoubtedly be very helpful" He turned away and touched his comm badge. "Wong to Victory. The first group is coming up now. We'll stagger them to buy you time to examine each froup until the decon chamber is done. You might also be getting a data transmission from the researchers down here so that they don't have to carry everything on board with them. Wong out"

Nika smiled slightly at Major Wong's attempt to distract from the notion that she would have to share her quarters. She would have only really been annoyed if she hadn't, since that would mean she was operating under different rules than other ship personnel. As it was, well, she wasn't exactly delighted with the idea of sharing her quarters with thirty marines, but she wasn't going to shoot the messenger over it. Even if the messenger was also a large part of the cause.
=/\=We have security measures in place? Good. Then maybe reduce on-duty personnel, so more people will be available and fresh when we arrive at the planet?=/\= Nika wrapped up the conversation and contacted Isis about taking medical precautions on the off-chance a partial quarantine was required for an extended period of time, or the far more likely possibility that there were any other medical conditions that would need looking-after.
Then the Victory arrived at the planet, and any preparations or precautions proved to not be enough to keep the Victory from collapsing into a chaotic mess. Well, not complete chaos, nor a complete mess, so the preparations had apparently done some good. Now there was just the slight matter of coordinating things and ensuring that nothing unexpected happened.

Nurse Sabata glanced at his tricorder again, to make sure that the reading wasn't just a result of him having been doing this for the last half hour. He glanced down at the little girl he was in the middle of scanning, then back at her mother. “Your father was Romulan?” he asked, still looking at the mother.
She nodded tensely. “He's still on the planet. With the Romulan part of the colony.”
Ensign Sabata nodded, deciding that was a safe, neutral, response. But he didn't remember hearing about a Romulan part of the colony. He had thought this was a Federation world. It could be he had just forgotten a detail—but a fairly major one—or maybe the assignment had accidentally left that out. Either way, he should probably let a commanding officer know, just in case. He gracefully excused himself from the situation and quickly located the Ferengi first officer—Commander Nack—and let him know what the situation was.

Nearly an hour into the evacuation, things had begun to progress smoothly. The civilians were moving in an orderly manner, a simple vetting system to allow the easiest method of evacuation had been established, and Dr Sandron had just informed him that due to data tansmissions sent to the Vic, the amount of the equipment that would need to be transported would be greatly reduced. "OK lads, next group" He called as the previous six people were beamed away. Next came two researchers with a teenage daughter, a son whose age was probably still in single figures, and a baby in a strapped to the father's chest. "Nothing to be worried about folks" TIberian said in his best reassuring voice "We'll soon have you away safely" He smiled and the family were transported away. As the next group came forward, there was a slight jostle in the crowd, and a sudden marginal increase in chatter. Tiberian hurried this next group forward with an arm gesture. If people were starting to get restless he'd have to tell the Vic to start transporting in larger groups, even if the decon chamber wasn't finished. As these people were transported, Tiberian suddenly saw what had caused the crowd to focus together. A large crowd of Romulans had appeared, much to Tiberian's shock, but yet not to that of the crowd. As a group of nearly fifty of them advanced to the head of the crowd, Tiberian reacted instinctively, doing the only thing that currently made sense. "Ready phasers" a mixture of roughly 100 combined marines and security officers levelled their hand phasers and rifles at the Romulan crowd, causing audible screams and movements of panic in the whole group of evacuees. "Raise your hands and fall to your knees" Tiberian yelled at the Romulans, his eye still fixed down the sight of his phaser rifle. "Please, we only..." the Romulan at the front began, but was cut off by Tiberian firing a high yield phaser burst overhead. This both caused the Romulans to drop to their knees, hands raised, but also halted the movement within the crowd. "Lieutenant Youngblood" he called out, his weapon now returned to face the Romulans. "Yes sir" came the reply. "Continue with the evacuation. Tell the Victory that they're going to have to start taking bigger crowds, decon chamber or not. Tell them to use the cargo transporters and beam crowds of ten at a time. Get on with it" "Yes sir" As Youngblood hailed the Victory, Tiberian advanced, flanked by both Martinez and Belly. "What the hell are Romulans doing here" he asked menacingly, noting the complete lack of any military personnel, but a seeming abundance of civilians. "Please" the old man at the front began "We're only part of the Romulan colony, we just need to be evacuated to a safe place, the same as these people" "What Romulan colony?" Tiberian asked "This is a Federation world" "There is a Romulan colony as well" he pressed earnestly "There are almost 2000 of us living nearby. We co-inhabit peacefully with the Federation personnel" "This doesn't make a bit of sen..." Tiberian began, before suddenly remembering the strange message from the doomed Romulan vessel. He blinked for a minute, processing, before waving two men over from the cordon to assist Martinez and Belly with the Romulans. He walked away from the crowd, and touched his comm badge. "Major Wong to Captain Cir'Kem. Ma'am, you're not going to believe this, but there's a 2000 strong Romulan colony as well that we didn't know about. They are begging for evacuation. What is it that you want us to do?"

Scene: Quarterdeck Transporters, USS Victory
“Transporter Chief Grew laced his fingers and cracked his knuckles before resetting the transporter systems for another run. Normally, the Quarterdeck transporter was manned by a Petty Officer First Class who was standing the 'Officer of the Deck' watch. “
“Chief Grew had relieved the Officer of the Deck and manned the watch himself. During high volume J'Mrak Colonist That where being transported on board , Grew wanted to have direct control of the potential chaos.
“Chief Grew also wonted to get a first look at the J'Mrak Colonist as they Transport on board . In the last hour he had Transporter over 900 J'Mrak Colonist onto the Victory. Since his Duty watch started “
“When two Security officers walked onto the Quarterdeck Grew knew something was up. The security officers tried to look casual as they stood in the back of the room.
“Grew received a green light on his Transporter status board and he watched as the targeting scanners resolved their lock. Transporter controls indicated the Next group of J'Mrak Colonist where ready to transport onboard“.
“ Grew initiated the Transport sequence.
“As the next group materialized on the USS VICTORY.
"At that moment cmdr Matthew Enter the Quarter deck Looking for someone that was in this group This way Col.." Cmdr Matthew gestured just fallow me as they Exit the Quarterdeck exit. "Carson will see to your luggage.
"Captain Cir’kem is currently on the bridge so you won't be able to Speak to her for a while. But I do have a room waiting for you and your family once they are on board "
As Grew watched the giant man exit his Quarterdeck he heard Cmdr Matthew asking "Is this your first time on a Nova Class star Ship?"

Nurse Sabata reached Nack at the same time Nack learned from communique that there was an extra 2000 passengers... Romulan passengers.
"Sir - I have news."
"Is it about the Romulans?" The Victory was not known for its slow communication, and it was clear to Ensign Sabata that this bit of information was not the exception. "I have just received a patched through communique from Major Wong. I guess we are going to have to take on more passengers... but 2000?"
Commander Matthew was going to flip when he realized that he was going to have to find rooming assignments or that many more people. At least, from the reports, they were already co-inhabiting with the federation colony. This would probably lessen the security risk. On the flip side of the argument, so many people is such close quarters was bound to cause problems.
=/\= Lieutenant Shelby, is the decon chamber ready? =/\=
Shelby replied in the affirmative.
=/\= Captain Cir'Kem, First Officer Nack here. Start beaming them up in masses... Lieutenant Shelby suggested we could beam 50 up at a time... but I'd double check. =/\=
Nack returned to the bridge to oversee the incoming passengers. Already they had misplaced family members, as Nurse Sabata had mentioned. He had to find the father, then make sure to drill it into Isis's head that this was not acceptable. It wasn't easy being the first officer.

Tiberian was still transporting passengers from the Federation colony when confirmation about the Romulan situation came in. "Alright" he called out to them "It looks like we are letting you on board. You'll be scanned once aboard, and i advise you to co-operate with any questions. If you have anything that either is, or could be used as a weapon, leave it down here. If you are caught aboard with anything we'll consider you a threat, and shoot on sight" The Romulans seemed satisfactorily scared at his remarks, and many drew small phasers and belt knives, throwing them at the marines feet before they progressed within the cordon. Tiberian then received further orders that the beam out number was increasing. "Alright boys" he addressed the Starfleet personnel present "We're stepping it up a notch. Fifty a time now" And with this more were admitted into the cordon, and the transports began again, the rate increasing significantly.
~Several hours later~
Tiberian looked around, and observed that there definitely wasn't anyone left in the square. For good measure he withdrew his tricorder and scanned the area, confirming no remaining life signs. The last group, mostly researchers and other such people were assembling at the transporter point. There was a flash, and they were gone. "OK, let's bring in the cordon" Tiberian and his men collected in the markers and tape, packing it back into the bags it had come from. They then assembled into the transporter area and beamed up in two groups, the security personnel first, followed by the marines. Before they were transported, Tiberian addressed his men. "When we get back up their get into three man teams and start your roaming patrols. Stick to the areas where the evacuees are most heavily populated, but check on the restricted areas as well" They were transported back aboard the ship, appearing in cargobay one to the sight of the medical and security staff trying to move a twohundred strong crowd out of the door. Tiberian and his men strongarmed their way through the throng and onto the deck, where they split up. Tiberian and Martinez worked their way through the packed corridors heading for the nearest turbolift. "Can you please return to you billeting assignments. We can't have you crowding the corridors" Tiberian firmly shouted over the noise, waving his phaser rifle so that they got the message. He finally made it to his quarters, Martinez in tow. "What a day" Tiberian groaned, rubbing his eyes. He recovered a bottle of Romulan ale from a hidden area in a chest of drawers and took a swig, then passing the bottle to Martinez who did the same. "Ironic, don't you think" Martinez referred to Tiberian's choice of drink and their unexpected guests. Tiberian put his hands up as a sign of not arguing, and reconcealed the bottle. Just then a message came in over the computer terminal, telling Tiberian to report to the Captain's ready room. "What do you think that's about" Martinez asked curiously. "Well, we're about to find out" Tiberian stated, picking up his rifle and heading for the door. A few mintes of crowd control later, and TIberian arrived at the bridge. As Martinez waited outside, he entered the ready room, came to attention and saluted. "You wanted to see me, ma'am" he said.

Nika looked up when Major Wong entered her office. They had so many things going on, what with the sudden discovery of an additional two thousand people—and Romulans at that. And now she was going to lose a truly great officer. Still, she wasn't surprised that he would be offered a promotion in position. “Congratulations,” Nika said, handing over the PADD to Major Wong and letting him read his transfer of orders to Olypia's first officer position.
When he looked up she smiled slightly; her good wishes for him were very genuine. “If you don't want to keep your new Commanding Officer waiting, I understand. The situation seems to be under control now, because of your help, so you could take a shuttle, should you want to.”
<Tag Wong>
After her conversation with Major Wong, Nika stayed in her office a little bit longer, confirming that his transfer orders were recieved. Then she returned to the bridge, just in time to hear Lieutenant Lasooux's muttured, “That's funny.”
“What is it, Lieutenant?”
He glanced up, as if he hadn't heard her reenter the bridge. “Sir! There's a slight sensor reading discrepency I'm picking up, I think it could be from a ship—cloaked.”
“Can you hail them?” Nika asked. The ship hadn't attacked yet, but given the fact that it was here and there were Romulans below the ship was likely Romulan, and therefore in Federation space.
“I can try. They may or may not reply.”

ROMULAN WARBIRD Ael'Maec
The bridge of the Ael'Maec is tense situation and hoping that the federation will accept their help and not realize the mistake that was made awhile back.
"Decloak the ship and hail the federation vessel."
"Federation vessel this Admiral Rolandin we are here to help you evacuate the planet.'

Tiberian stared in a borderline state of shock for nearly two minutes, reading and re-reading the transfer orders. He was an XO, on a Prometheus class starship none the less. he looked back at Nika, who smiled. "It's been an honour ma'am" he said "And a privilege" “If you don't want to keep your new Commanding Officer waiting, I understand. The situation seems to be under control now, because of your help, so you could take a shuttle, should you want to.” "Thank you ma'am" Tiberian replied "With you permission, I would like to have Sergeant Major Martinez transferred with me. I'll fill out the paperwork, and ensure the Gunnery Sergeant Hightower is in a position to continue with the running of the marines for the tme being" Nika nodded, and Tiberian came to attention with a formal salute, then turning on heel and departing. "So, what's happening?" Martinez asked as Tiberian came out. "Pack a bag" Tiberian said as he headed for the turbolift "We're leaving" "You've not been thrown out?" Martinez was shocked "They haven't found out about Cardassia have they?" "No, I'm not being thrown out, I'm being promoted. I'm now the First Officer of the USS Olympia, and you're coming with me. I reckon I'll need the company" He handed Martinez the transfer orders, who read and re-read them much to the same effect as Tiberian. "Pack your gear and meet me in transporter room 1 in about fifteen minutes" Tiberian left Martinez there, and exiting the turbolift, proceeded to his quarters to pack. As he tidied and hoisted his bags, he felt sadness that he would not be able to say goodbye to his men, currently scattered across the ship. He would record them a message in flight and transmit it back for them. He lifted his bags and walked slowly to the transporter room, nodding and smiling at the oblivious crew around him. He arrived, and was followed in moments by Martinez. They lifted themselves and their gear onto the transporter padd, and Tiberian looked across at Lieutenant Tallows, the transporter chief. "Two to beam over to the Shuttlecraft Orlando" Tiberian said, as Tallows worked the padd. He looked wistfully around at the room, and then turned to Martinez. "I'll miss the old girl" he said "She's a good ship" Tallows nodded at Tiberian, who answered "Very good Mr Tallows, energize" Moments later Tiberian and Martinez appeared on the shuttle, where Tiberian entered the flight area. "Set a course for Starbase Bellicose crewman, warp five" the crewman plotted the course, and as Martinez settled himself in his seat, Tiberian looked throgh the forward screen, catching one last glance of the Victory. "Engage" And they were gone.

Lieutenant Youngblood had placed his Security teams along with the marines and put his top Security people on standby. Alpha and Beta teams are on stand by for special assignments. We have covered all the vital areas of the ship including the Bridge and Engineering. Two of Yahnie Security Officers stepped off the turbo lift and on to the bridge, they stood by the turbo lift doors. The Security Officers looked over toward Yahnie’s direction and nodded to him to let them know that everything was in place. Yahnie was at the tactical station on the bridge as he watched the Romulan Warbird decloak. Ma’am the Warbird is hailing us. “On screen” Lieutenant. “Yes Ma’am” Yahnie replied. As Tiberian and Martinez was leaving the bridge Youngblood walked over to them and said “I want you both to know it was a pleasure and a honor serving with you. I hope your new position be as prosper.” Said Yahnie The Lt. walked back to his station and began monitoring his systems. “Ma’am, both the Major and Martinez has left them ship we are ready to get under way.”

Nika looked at the Romulan who had appeared on her screen. She cocked her head slightly, trying to figure out why a Romulan who was trespassing into Federation space would offer to help. And from what Nika could judge, he seemed like he meant it. “I believe the planet is already evacuated. Unless you happen to know of another Romulan colony that's hiding somewhere?”
It had been a very tight fit to get everyone aboard the Victory, but it had been managed. And now that it was done, Nika didn't really feel like moving people off again. She wasn't sure what Federation regulations were regarding the situation, all indications were that the Romulan colony and Federation colony had evolved together, and were now closely linked. J'Mrak was a Federation world, and that meant that anyone who had been born in the last twenty-six years, since the Federation colony, at least, had been established. Nika figured the Romulan colony would have had to have been sometime after that. But still, anyone born after that point would have been born on the Federation world, and be a Federation citizen. Nika didn't really understand how that could happen. How did the Federation not know about this?
Nika looked back at Admiral Rolandin, almost surprised that he hadn't vanished again. She held off a hand for Lieutenant Youngblood, that the Victory didn't need to leave yet. Nobody was in immediate danger anymore, and Nika thought resolving some of the Romulan-related problems would probably, in the long-term, worth a little discomfort, to solve as swiftly as possible.
Nika didn't know what the Federation would do with a few hundred Romulan colonists, but she knew they couldn't just send the Romulans back to Romulan space. Some of the children had a parent from each colony, and Nika wasn't about to go splitting up families.
“Just a second,” Nika asked of the Romulan, before cutting off the Victory's transmission, so she could talk to her crew privately.
“Commander Matthew, can you determine what model that ship is?” Nika asked. She hadn't thought the Romulan government still used that type, in which case they might not be working with the government. And if that was the case, Nika needed to know that. “And which groups currently use them?”
<Matthew>
Then Nika turned to Lieutenant Youngblood. “Would you mind talking to some of our passengers?” she asked. “A few of the Romulans, a few of the rest, figure out, if you can, when the Romulan colony was founded, as well as why nobody mentioned this in the various science reports.”
<Youngblood>
Nika smiled at Nack, very glad that she had someone she could delegate the next task to. But she added a please, just because the task was something she would dislike that much. “Please talk to the Romulan government, see if they're willing to give up any information regarding their citizens here.”
<Nack>
Having successfully sent the bridge a-flutter with activity, Nika ordered the communication channel be turned back on. “I think we really should talk about what you're doing in Federation space, as well as how these colonists got here.”
<Rolandin>
