Nack threw his tooth sharpener across the room. "How come every time I get some time off, we have to have a briefing!"
~/\~ Please restate the question ~/\~ the computer chimed.
"Nevermind!"
Since nobody was in the room with him, he let his emotions get the better of him; something Commander Nack rarely did to such a degree in front of others. It would be unbecoming.
Arriving, Nack was one of the last ones to arrive. Teeth sharpened, and brushed to their yellowish green glow, the Ferengi strolled in, as if he were fashionably late.
"Ah - Dr. Davis." The grin almost blinded the poor counselor. "Did you get my communique?" Any other day, Nack would have avoided the counselor. At this point, his pride for his freshly groomed self caused him to seek interaction. "I can't wait until our meeting. I'm sure I'll probably bore you, though. I don't have many issues myself. I wouldn't mind helping you analyze some of the other more problemed crewmembers though." A few chuckles could be heard around the room. Nack turned to see who were making such comments, but everyone was staring at the Captain, who was reading over a padd. *must have been my imagination* Nack thought, consoling himself.
Before Davis could answer, Captain Cir'kem called the meeting to order.

Once everyone was seated in the briefing room, Nika started talking about the diversion they had been placed on. “A Federation Ambassador has gone missing while in the midst of negotiating with the Breen,” Nika started, because gently leading into a subject just meant that there was less time to discuss the important things. In her opinion, at least, and she wouldn't dream of speaking for anyone else.
“The station commander suspects the Breen are responsible. The Breen deny it, and are apparently so upset over the missing ambassador that they won't negotiate with anyone until the ambassador is found.” Nika looked over her crew, making sure no one had any questions yet. They didn't seem to, so she continued. “The station commander—Commander Ardah—has asked for our help in finding the ambassador.
“Counselor Davis, in addition to continuing psych evaluations, if you could contact the Breen and try to find out if they know anything, and see whether—since they're so very distraught over Ambassador Karzi's disappearance—they're willing to help with the investigation. Gaining access to some of their sensor data would be a plus, although I'm not going to rely on it.” Nack looked briefly satisfied that, since there was a counselor around, the early diplomatic negotiation went to the counselor. And if much was required beyond early negotiation, it would have to be Nika who stepped in.
“Commander Matthew, I'd like you to go over sensor data from the station, internal and external, to try to pinpoint when the Ambassador went missing, and what ships were in the area at the time. The station's relatively small and doesn't have much traffic, so I'd like you to use that information to come up with a list of leads, as to who might have taken the ambassador.” Nika wasn't ruling out the possibility that the ambassador had just left, without having been abducted, but she was relegating it to the dustbin, only to be taken out and looked at once other, more probable, options had been looked at.
“Lieutenant Commander Youngblood, you can look at the ambassador's public duty logs for the last week, as well as looking over statements from witnesses. See if the ambassador thought anything was amiss, as well as any hints of anyone who had been hanging around him who shouldn't have been. I'd expect the witness accounts to be hazy, but they might provide some detail that the sensor logs don't have. I'd also like you to work with Commander Matthew on creating the list of leads.
“Lieutenant Galwyn, please do what you can to see if the sensor data from the station was tampered with, and see if you can find what was overwritten, if anything was changed. Also, please talk to nearby Federation stations and see if anyone matching the ambassador's description went through their station or was on the passenger manifest of any ships that docked.
“If anyone has any questions, both myself and Commander Nack will be available.” Although she'd likely be spending much of her time talking to Commander Ardah, trying to dredge more information from him. Nika didn't understand how someone could just go missing from a station, without people knowing where that person got to. But she'd do her best to be available; Nika was aware that she was putting some of her senior staff out of their area of expertise.
“Are there any questions now?” Nika asked, then.

Gaining access to some of their sensor data would be a plus, although I'm not going to rely on it.” Russell thought then nodded ‘this might be a bit tricky to do’. Russell continued to listen to everyone else’s orders so he had an idea of who to send whatever he got, if he even got a channel with the Breen he would be surprised.
As the meeting ended Russell walked toward his office, he knew it would take a while to get a channel with the Breen Ambassador if they even listen. Entering his office he quickly asked the computer “Open a channel to the Breen Ambassador near starbase Larkwing, Russell then picked up a Padd and accessed what little was known about the Breen. After 20 minutes of waiting he heard the computer state =/\= Receiving Response, Audio Only=/\= Russell was not to surprised at that the Breen were a very secretive people. “My name is Lieutenant Russell Davis, I am the ships counsellor aboard the star fleet vessel Victory-C. I have been asked by my captain to speak to you on the recent abduction of the Federation ambassador, I …” Russell could not finish he request when he heard the Breen speak “If you are here to continue accusing us of taking your ambassador then save your breath.” the tone was harsh even for a Breen. “Well sir, that is not why I am contacting you, I want to hear what you might know about the abduction of our ambassador, I am sure your ship must have picked something up and it would help our investigation if we had this information.” there was a long pause, Russell began to wonder if the connection had been lost when the Breen responded “We will not send you any sensor readings that could result in you learning more about our ships, we will consider the possibility of discussing what we have been able to find out, but there will be terms to this arrangement.” Russell listened as the Breen spoke, it was obvious that they wanted to continue the talks, but then why were they unwilling to do it with anyone else but the Ambassador.
The Breen closed the channel before Russell could ask any questions, but he ‘if it was a he’ sent a message in English stating the terms of the transfer, ‘Oh the captain is not going to like this’. hitting his comm. Badge he sent a message to the captain, =/\=Captain it is Lieutenant Davis, I have spoken to the Breen Ambassador and he seems slightly willing to help, but he has given some terms to this arrangement, I will come to your ready room when you are free and I will tell you more=/\= Russell hoped the captain did not mind that Russell was not giving all the terms over the comm. but he thought she might explode when she heard them and that would not be nice for the bridge staff. Walking out of his office he made his way to the bridge.

<Yahnie’s Quarters>
Lieutenant Commander Youngblood had waked up in his quarters when he heard the announcement over his Comm. Badge. Yahnie tapped his Comm. Badge to acknowledge the announcement. Yahnie jumped out of his bed and headed for the sonic shower, Yahnie turned on the shower and went over to the replicator and said “Tea El Grey Hot” Yahnie watched as the tea materialized in front of him. Yahnie sat in the chair and sipped on his tea. Yahnie tapped on his Comm. Badge and spoke. =/\= Lieutenant Commander Youngblood to Lieutenants Reed and Malloy there is a mission briefing in 20 minutes, I want both of you to be there. Youngblood out =/\=
After he contacted Reed and Malloy Yahnie went to the shower and took a few minutes for grooming and got in to a fresh duty uniform. Yahnie then drank the rest of his tea and headed to the conference room.
<Conference Room>
Yahnie met Lieutenants Reed and Malloy just outside the conference room and they all went in to the room together. Yahnie, Reed and Malloy took their seats and waited for the rest of the staff to arrive.

After the meeting, Nika returned to her ready room to grab something to eat and convince Commander Ardah that, now that he'd asked for the Victory's help, not to continue the investigation on his own. It wasn't that hard, as he seemed offended that she'd think he would do so.
Nika was working on finishing eating the replicated sandwich, while contemplating different ways to determine exactly when the Ambassador left the station. She already had Commander Matthew looking at internal sensors, but Nika would be surprised if those hadn't been sabotaged. And it was good to have backups. She was thinking that she might be able to calculate when a person unaccounted for went missing, if she looked at information like mass changes onboard the station and the rate of oxygen use, when Lieutenant Davis contacted her. =/\=Captain it is Lieutenant Davis, I have spoken to the Breen Ambassador and he seems slightly willing to help, but he has given some terms to this arrangement, I will come to your ready room when you are free and I will tell you more=/\=
=/\=Give me five minutes?=/\= Nika asked, and Davis confirmed that that worked for him.
Nika placed the half-eaten sandwich into the replicator to be dissolved. Then she requested the data she might end up needing from Commander Ardah. Better to have it and not need it, she figured, than want it and end up having a problem getting it. Cover all options, had always been her plan.
She wondered what the terms the Breen wanted were. They apparently weren't minor enough for Lieutenant Davis to be able to or feel comfortable approving on his own, but Nika didn't know the counselor well enough to know what that really meant. There was a ring from her door, so she figured she'd find out soon enough. “Come in,” Nika called. “What does the Breen Ambassador want, in exchange for his help?” she asked, speaking while gesturing for Lieutenant Davis to sit down.

OOC: Do we have a name and race for our missing ambassador? apologies if i am being blind and missed the information somewhere.
Tiana sighed as she thought over the Captain's orders. She had managed to get hold of the sensor logs from Starbase Larkwing but only after a long drawn out conversation with a junior technician who didn't seem to know a data recorder from a data crystal, that worried her.
The computer and two members of the science staff were going over the logs frame by frame while Tiana, Martha and Ensign Tomal were busy collating data from the ten nearest Federation stations and the hundreds of ships that had passed through.
Tiana took a mouthful of her over-sweetened coffee and grimaced, it had gone cold since she had last remembered it. She took the cup back to the replicator and got another mug and sighed again as she sat down. They were doing everything they could but it was going to be a while before they had any information to share.

Nack put his hand on the technician's shoulder in a matter that would normally instill patience unto a subordinate, but in Nack's short stature it just portrayed awkwardness.
"Let me give you a hand." Nack, being a doctor by training, had dealt with unruly data-files before. That, and data recovery from deleted files. Of course, the latter wasn't something he boasted about because it was during his late teenage years that he was retrieving stole...
~/\~ Analysis Complete. ~/\~ the computer chimed. Nack looked over the technician's shoulder. No anomalous sensor readings were found in the snipped he was examining. Loading the next sector into the reconstructive buffer, the young man restarted the process, checking his padd to make sure he was following procedure. After Lieutenant Galwyn's admonishment, and having Commander Nack watching over his shoulder, he wasn't taking any chances of screwing up.
Moving on, Nack approached Galwyn. It would be the first real conversation he has had with the chief science officer since she came aboard, and the Ferengi was simply going to give his support before heading back to the bridge.
Tiana had long black hair, which covered the spots that gave the tell-tale sign of being a trill. Quite notably, as the personnel file showed, she was not joined. Nack wouldn't ask her why; not this time anyway. "How is the work coming along, Lieutenant?"

~/\~ Analysis Complete. ~/\~ Tiana dimly heard the computer's voice as she continued to wade through the streams of data that were coming in. It was far easy when they had been looking at nice well behaved stars. At least they didn't ask awkward questions or delay before giving you data.
She turned to see what the group on the sensor logs had come up with so far and was surprised to see the FO in the room. She also noted that technician (junior grade) Wilson seemed to have been singled out for attention. She doubted the presence of the Ferengi Commander was helping the his concentration.
Commander Nack looked towards Tiana and she sighed inwardly bracing herself for a very long and ultimately pointless conversation.
She was however surprised, the FO paused after his first question and allowed her to answer it.
"How is the work coming along, Lieutenant?"
"We have a lot of data coming in but it's going to take a while to analyse it. Ambassador Karzi is not the most obvious of individuals". She sighed quietly and looked around the main lab. Everyone was working hard and would be sure to notify her if they found anything.
"Was there something specific you wanted, sir?" Tiana asked. <Tag: Commander Nack>

Russell arrived on the bridge, taking the one look over the staff to see anything he might be concerned about he made his way to the Captain’s ready room without a second thought. Pressing the door buzzer he heard Nika say “Come in,” Russell stepped in and saw her sitting behind her desk ‘well at least I do not have to worry about her falling over when she hears the terms’ “What does the Breen Ambassador want, in exchange for his help?” ‘straight to the point then’ “well I do not think you are going to like them, but they seem quite firm on this.” taking a deep breath he began, “the Breen are interested in ending all hostilities but they are unwilling to negotiate with someone who has no authority in the federation, which might be why the talks collapsed when the ambassador vanished. They are willing to give what they have but under three conditions, one that it was not over any channel it would be in person, two that the people sent be unarmed and in a shuttle only, and three and this is the part you will not like at all, it must be ‘the Captain and two officers of his or her choosing’.” Russell quickly took a breath before he added “They might have something else in mind though it is very difficult to read a Breen in those suits of theirs. They sent that if we accepted then the shuttle was to make its way to the base where it would meet with their flag ship, and the exchange will take place on their flag ship with the Breen Ambassador”.
<Tag Nika>
“ I know it sounds fishy, but I had a thought on the way up, they do not know who the captain of this ship is, and I did not give them any hint so we can send someone else over than you. Over wise I think Starfleet might have some very choice words for you”
<Tag Nika>
“Well I will leave it to you to decide, here are the terms.” Russell handed Nika a Padd with the terms written on. As he left he made his way to the command seats and collapsed into the counsellor’s chair ‘well that is over’.

Lieutenant Davis entered her office, and took a deep breath before giving the terms. “The Captain of the Victory?” Nika asked, trying for clarification. “Or does any Federation captain work?” Not that there were any other Federation captains close in the vicinity, and certainly none that had much more diplomatic training than Nika. Which was what she had been thinking when she asked her question. Though she was aware after the fact that wasn't quite the way it came out sounding.
“I know it sounds fishy,” Davis replied. “But I had a thought on the way up, they do not know who the captain of this ship is, and I did not give them any hint so we can send someone else over than you. Over wise I think Starfleet might have some very choice words for you”
Nika frowned. “Starfleet might also have some choice words for me if I bungle our improving relations with the Breen. Which lying to them about this would undoubtedly do.” Nika knew she shouldn't rush into this lightly. She thought it was clear where she stood, but she had to make sure she was doing this for the right reasons—that there was no reasonable or acceptable alternative—rather than for the simple fact that she didn't like the rule that the Captain had to stay on the ship. She might think that it was patronizing and hate the implication it gave that somehow the Captain's life was so much more important, but some rules existed for a reason. She wouldn't break it lightly, at least.
“Well I will leave it to you to decide, here are the terms.” Russell handed Nika a Padd with the terms written on. Nika looked at the PADD, not because she needed confirmation of what he had said—she remembered every word—but to give herself a few seconds to see if any options sprang to mind. She vehemently despised the idea of sending someone else pretending to be her, not least because the Breen could know more than they let on, and this could be a test. She just wished she knew what the right answer was.
=/\=Nika to Nack=/\= she said, tapping her commbadge. =/\=I need to talk to you in my ready room.=/\=
=/\=When you get a chance,=/\= she amended a full second later. =/\=It's important=/\= She added again.
When Nack did make it to her ready room, Nika handed the PADD to him. Without giving him a chance to read it, she asked: “Which two people do you think I should take with?” Nika didn't smile; she was determined, rather than joking.

“Matthew frowned. "Hmmm. That doesn't make much sense, unless the sender is deliberately trying to confuse any listeners."
“Matthew paused. "Actually, that makes a lot of sense. This could be a new form of encryption, using background chatter to disguise the real message. And, if that's the case,

As Cmdr Matthew watched, Moore instructed the computer to look for repeating patterns and eliminate them from the signal.

Yahnie’s Quarters>
Yahnie had been in his quarters getting ready for the day. It seems all sudden that Yahnie want to transfer to another ship but it has been long time thinking about it. It just seems that Yahnie wants to make a difference by helping other cadets to reach there potential. Yahnie found out that there was an opening on the USS Hanson for a CTSO instructor. Yahnie sent a communiqué to Section 47 Command requesting a transfer from the USS Victory to the USS Hanson as an instructor for the academy. The transfer has been sent and Yahnie is hoping he would get a chance on training new cadets. Yahnie feels ok with the Victory but he feels he could do a lot more training new cadets. Yahnie feels this is the hardest task to overcome to tell his Captain he would like a transfer to better his self. Yahnie reply came and he put his transfer orders on a comm. padd.
<Main Bridge>
Yahnie was on the bridge at his station when the Commander said that there was signal from the Ambassador’s Comm. Badge. Sir, Yahnie had spoke to the Commander could this signal be some sort of old style Morse code signal. Yahnie saw the Captain enter the Bridge. Yahnie spoke out. “Captain, on the bridge.” She headed towards her ready room and went inside.

Day watch came and the Captain was in her ready room. Yahnie went to see her about the transfer. Yahnie chimed at her door and entered. “Ma’am, May I speak to you freely?” Yahnie handed her the padd of the transfer orders to report to Starbase Conqueror for reassignment as the academy CTSO instructor aboard the USS Hanson. If I can get to Starbase Assailant I can reach Starbase Conqueror at warp 5 in 6.7 days. Is there a chance you can drop me off at the Starbase Assaliant?

Smiling at the Chief Science Officer, he barely replied "Just making the rounds, and officially welcoming you aboard," when the Captain came calling. Politely removing himself from the officers' work, which seemed to be in order--- and Nack felt he may even be getting in the way of -- the door to the lab closed behind the Ferengi.
A few minutes later Nack walked into the Captain's Ready Room.
“Which two people do you think I should take with?” Was the immediate question. It was quite clever too. It wasn't until after a few minor questions were asked that the First Officer realized the statement's implication.
"And... who said you are taking anyone 'with' you?" Mr. Davis had briefed the him on the plan for a disguise, which Nack was all for, but that plan didn't include actually sending the Captain. It was then she divulged that she wasn't implementing Mr. Davis's plan.
"Well, you know I'll have to object." Nack said it calmly this time. The last two times he had the exact same conversation with the Captain went nowhere... and he said a few things in the process he regretted. The sudden realization of power had gotten to him in the incidents prior, but now... now the temper was, well, tempered.
"At least let us put a sub-dermal transporter locater on you. That way, if there is any trouble and your com-badges are removed, we can still get you out of there easier. Mr. Youngblood, I'm sure, can get around to doing that... Lieutenant Galwyn, of whom I just was with, probably can modify them to become untraceable." He shrugged. It was just an idea.
"Ah - here comes the Commander now." Commander Youngblood entered the room carrying a padd.
Nack slapped his large forehead. "I knew about this, and forgot to tell you. I'll handle it Captain, and I apologize." Nack grabbed the padd from Yahnie, but Yahnie didn't move, expecting the Captain to speak. Nack, figuring he probably was awaiting her official (and unofficial) good-bye and good-luck, awaited as well before putting his thumbprint on the padd.

Nika listened to Nack, but she had no intention of being swayed. Still, she was grateful to see that Nack's attempt to dissuade her was based on rational references to the Starfleet protocol, which she was gratuitously ignoring, rather than with his temper. “How sure are we of the Breen technology to be sure they won't be able to detect the locaters?” Nika asked. She held up a hand, though, before letting Nack reply. “I'm all for the idea if it is going to work. But if there's a chance that won't, that would actually put me, and the other people, in more danger, rather than less.”
Before Nack could answer, Nika was surprised to see Commander Youngblood enter her ready room. She didn't get a chance to ask him if she could help with anything though, before he told her the bad news. At least, bad from her point of view. She was sure this would be a good experience for Commander Youngblood, and though she'd miss his talents from the Victory, she knew that'd he'd be busy training cadets.
Nack tried to take care of Youngblood's transfer, but Yahnie wanted to say goodbye to Nika, and she to him. She held her hand out to take the PADD from Nack, because she wanted clear evidence of his transfer. It wasn't often that officers transferred off to still end up nearby. “If I can get to Starbase Assailant I can reach Starbase Conqueror at warp 5 in 6.7 days. Is there a chance you can drop me off at the Starbase Assaliant?” Yahnie asked.
“I'm afraid not,” Nika said. “I'd love to be able to, but you know the Victory's in a bit of a tight spot right now.” Nika might be willing to go onto a Breen ship, but she didn't really want the Victory off running errands while she did so. She had some sense of self-preservation. “However, I'd be happy to loan you a shuttle, which we can pick up next time we dock with Assailant. I'm sorry. It's been a pleasure having you on the Victory,” she said, her voice turning formal. “Good luck.”

"Just making the rounds, and officially welcoming you aboard," The first officer said. Tiana was going to reply when he was paged by the Captain. The FO departed leaving a relative calm to descend on the science lab once again.
“Lieutenant Galwyn, We would like a moment of your time to retrive any information for our investigation of the disappearance of the ambassador. Can you provide us a copy of the senor logs and anyone matching the ambassador's description went through their station or was on the passenger manifest of any ships that docked.
It took Tiana a moment to identify the speaker as Commander Youngblood. =/\= Of course. I'll send it to you directly.=/\= Tiana pushed a few buttons on her console then waited until she had confirmed that the CTSO had received the requested information before cutting the comm link.
She sighed and slumped in her her chair, they had so far got about twenty minutes of sensor log that seemed to be suspicious but so far they hadn't been able to find out what the original recording looked like. They also seemed to have five possible ambassadors, of course none of those were confirmed and all the ships were going in different directions.
A thought struck her. "Martha, Tomal" The two looked up. "I want you to back track these five ships to before the ambassador was missing if we can locate where these five people came on board we might be able to narrow this down a little." They nodded and set to work.
Tiana picked up her two thirds finished cup of coffee which like it's predecessor had grown cold while sitting in front of her and walked back to the replicator. As she passed Wilson he turned to look at her a puzzled expression on his face.
"Um, sir, I've got something I think you ought to see." Tiana went to look over his shoulder. There went two videos running on his console; both of which showed an empty corridor and an airlock hatch. "The thing is," He said pointing to the screen "is that these sequences are identical down to the star positions relative to the station and the motion of the dust. Only this one" he guestured at the one on the left "was captured twenty nine hours before the Ambassador was found to be missing and the other was taken just over three hours before."
Tiana thought for a second "Was there a ship at that airlock during the time of the more recent recording?" Wilson pressed a couple of buttons and called up the necessary information.
"Yes, The Julienne, she left five minutes after the duplicated section of log ends." Tiana grinned a slightly feral smile. The Julienne was one of the five ships that had a possible Ambassador Karzi on board.
Tiana ended a few more commands and brought up the last recorded course of the Julienne. She was heading into disputed but currently quite territory.
Tiana looked over at where Tomal and Martha were working. "Focus on the Julienne, it looks like we might be on to something." She turned back to Wilson "Find out what's under that copy." He nodded and set to work.
Tiana wondered for a second how everyone else was doing with their assigned tasks and then tapped her comm badge.
=/\=Lieutenant Galwyn to Captian Cir'Kem. I think we have discovered how the ambassador was taken off the station. A ship called the Julienne.=/\=

=/\=How are all the other searches getting on? =/\=

=/\=Just a moment=/\= Nika said, replying to Tiana. She might have liked to talk with Commander Youngblood more, but she had important business to attend to. And he had a new job to fill. “Assailant's not that far from Conqueror, if you have a problem, or want to keep in touch, it should be easy enough to do. If you want.” Nika paused, then decided to repeat herself. “Good luck.”
Commander Youngblood said what additional farewells he had for the captain, and showed himself out of the ready room, after having reclaimed his transfer order—now signed. Before resuming the conversation with Nack, Nika contacted Tiana again. =/\=Captain Cir'Kem to Lieutenant Galwyn, go ahead.=/\=
=/\=I think we have discovered how the ambassador was taken off the station. A ship called the Julienne.=/\=
=/\=The Julienne? Are they Federation, or otherwise?=/\=Nika asked, knowing that she was treading into murky diplomatic waters. And the best way to clear them up was to think about all the implications of what was happening.
<Tiana>
=/\=Excellent work. The other searches, some of them, have run into slight difficulties. Commander Youngblood is transferring off the Victory, effective 5 minutes ago. But if you have the right trail, his work would have been less necessary. Oh. And I get to go visit a Breen warship=/\= Nika told the Science Officer. There was no point in pretending she was doing anything else. And if Nika found the prospect a little exciting, because the Breen were such a mystery...well, she didn't blame herself for it.
<Tiana>
=/\=Oh, and I think Commander Nack has something he'd like to have you look over, so he'll be by in a bit.=/\= That business taken care of, Nika looked back to Nack. “I was thinking of taking Lieutenant Davis,” she confided. “If he agrees to it. And I'll take a security person, if you think that's what would be best. I suppose, given Commander Youngblood's transfer off, it'll be harder to find the best person for the job.” Nika wasn't angry. Just really, really annoyed. Not just because of the way Nack hadn't told her of Yahnie's transfer, but in the way he tried to brush over it. But she wasn't going to bring it up; the discussion of the topic wouldn't help anything, not that she could see.

=/\=The Julienne? Are they Federation, or otherwise?=/\= The captain asked. Tiana quickly checked her computer screen before answering.
=/\= She's Federation registered but operates as a freelance transport throughout the alpha and beta quadrants. In the last few years she's been pretty much everywhere. I haven't yet managed to track down much information on her owners. How are the other searches going.=/\=
=/\=Excellent work. The other searches, some of them, have run into slight difficulties. Commander Youngblood is transferring off the Victory, effective 5 minutes ago. But if you have the right trail, his work would have been less necessary. Oh. And I get to go visit a Breen warship=/\=
Tiana was very surprised about the Commander's departure, she had after all only been speaking to him a short time earlier. She supposed it must be one of those things that only gets finallised at t he last moment. She thought over the rest of the Captain's statement and was again surprised and to be honest a little jealous. The Breen were a very secretive race with a very unusal and therefore interesting technology.
=/\=I hope the Commander has a safe trip and your visit sounds *interesting* you'll have to tell me about their ship later.=/\=
=/\=Oh, and I think Commander Nack has something he'd like to have you look over, so he'll be by in a bit.=/\=
=/\=Okay, sir I shall expect him shortly=/\= Tiana cut the comm and looked back around the lab. Work was proceeding as well as she could hope. Tomal and Martha were poring over infomation on the Julienne and Wilson was still trying to find out what was really on the sensor records. Patience had arrived and was helping him.
Patience Atawe was a civilian and technically an organic chemist but she was also a good researcher and programmer. Not to mention a very good cook. Tiana wandered over to see how they were doing, it seemed that they were working on extracting the over written data but subtracting off the copy.
There didn't seem to be much Tiana could do to help at the moment so she pondered further ideas and waited for the FO to arrived which he did in a bit of a rush. He seemed a little flustered but with Commander Nack it was a bit difficult to tell.
"Are your all right, sir" Tiana asked.
<tag: Commander Nack>
"The Captain said you had something you wanted me to look over..." she said, hoping that the conversation would not be side tracked.

"Ridiculous... it's preposterous to think that I can remember everything there is to do around here!" Nack realized Galwyn was talking to him.
"No, I'm not alright." Nack straightened his tone a bit, however, when replying. While he was rather upset with the implication that he had not performed his duties by the Captain, he also had a job to do.
"I'll get over it. I need your help creating a sub dermal transportation device. I have the design specs here that I received from engineering... and Mr. Youngblood checked it for security flaws... but we are having a difficult time modulating the carrier wave so that it blends in with background radiation." It was a bit more complicated than that, but the explanation would take too long, and Tiana was smart enough to figure out.
"I already have a plan on how we are going to implant this into the Captain's body. Are you interested in hearing how?" The Chief Science Officer's concentrated silence on her work was mistaken as a plea to continue. Nack handed a padd with the schematics to the woman and continued.
"Right. Well, back when I was younger, on Bajor mind you, we would always sneak into the underground spas." Touchy subject for most on the ship at this point, but Tiana wasn't present at the time, so Nack felt no shame in having to remind anyone of the Bajor incident. "One day, we realized they had a forcefield installed around the entire internal rock base. Quite impenetrable too." the story couldn't get any more boring, and instead of paying attention exclusively, the science officer got to work on the device.
A few minutes later...
"...so the implanted transporter worked, except we would have been easily detected had they had a science station, like the Breen ship undoubtedly has."
Tiana had a prototype ready for testing, but Nack didn't notice immediately. Instead he continued his monologue; something he was known for doing.
"... which is why I want the Captain to wear one of these." his mood turned sour. "I don't know why I even try though. For everything I do good, I always do something bad in her eyes."
Realizing rather late that he was rambling, he snapped back to the task at hand. "Is this your prototype? That was quick!"

<Captain's Ready Room>
Yahnie is still in the Captain’s ready room. As Yahnie spoke, “Ma’am, It has been a pleasure serving with you and the Victory. I feel I can do better helping cadets reach their potential and making them aware of their ability to serve in the Section 47.” “I also want to thank you for the use of the shuttle.” “I still need to use the computer to calculate on how long it will take me to get to the Starbase.” “I have arranged a gathering of my shipmates in ten-forward of food and drink; I also made the gathering to happen after day watch.”
<Tag Captain Cir’kem> <One Hour Later Ten-Forward>
Yahnie headed for Ten-Forward to say goodbye to his shipmates. It has been good experience has Ship’s head of Security but Yahnie had thought he would do better training cadets. Yahnie’s best friends Lieutenant’s Reed and Malloy to join him on the Hanson. Yahnie ordered his drink and waited for his shipmates to go off duty and join him in Ten-Forward. As the lounge started to fill up and waited for the Captain. After everyone had arrived Yahnie spoke to the crew. Yahnie got the crew’s attention by clinking his glass. Then Yahnie spoke “I want to let you all know that it has been a pleasure serving on board the Victory and with all of you. I wish you all well and hope you all stay safe.” After Yahnie spoke he took a drink of his drink and music began playing.

<Shuttle Bay>
Yahnie, Jim and Pete headed for the shuttle. The shuttle left the ship and headed to Starbase Assailant.

Commander Youngblood was gone, on his way to a new job, and the Victory was one good officer poorer. Nika had already received word from Starfleet that Yahnie's replacement, a Commander Robert Sharp, was on his way. Nika didn't know much about the new Commander, but she understood the necessity of replacing her CTSO as soon as possible, and she appreciated Starfleet's speediness in this matter.
If Commander Sharp arrived before Nika left, she'd see how he felt about sending a security officer with her. In case he didn't, or even if he did—it wasn't like Sharp would know any of the Victory's security officers—Nika looked through Commander Youngblood's last few reports, looking for an officer Youngblood had consistently spoken well of. She may not be staying aboard the Victory like Nack wanted, but she wasn't going to use the fact that she didn't have a CTSO aboard her ship keep her from having some kind of security escort. Part of what spoke well for this particular officer was his ability to think quickly under pressure and to improvise defenses. Nika was hoping not to need either, but she knew not to rely on hope alone. Hope and preparation, though, made a good combination.
Having finished deciding who, Nika contacted the security officer, Lieutenant Townes. =/\=Could you please meet me in my ready-room?=/\= she asked of him.
When he arrived, Nika was still debating how to phrase it. How to put the emphasis on the fact that this was a voluntary mission, and deemphasize the fact that Nika didn't know who she would send if he refused. “Have a seat?” Nika asked him, seating herself behind her desk. “I'm going to be visiting a Breen ship. I can't risk people's lives on knowledge the Breen may or may not know by sending someonw else. That's a decision I've made, and you have no duty to debate it further with me. And, well, I'm not going to order anyone to accompany me. This is strictly a voluntary trip. Still, that being said, if you'd consider it, I think your presence would help me in the negotiations. But there's no pressure.” She waited to see what the security officer would say.

As the shuttle that Commander Sharp is flying lands in the Victory's main shuttle bay. Sharp grabs his gear and and leaves it with the officer on duty in the shuttle bay and uses the computer console to get info on the current mission and then exits the shuttle bay and enters the turbo lift "bridge." Sharp looks at the info on the current mission and is surprised at what he reads about the captain going over to a breen ship. The lift stops on the bridge and sharp exits onto the bridge and notices that the captain isn't on the bridge and heads over to the ready room and rings the chime and heard enter Sharp enters the ready room and notices a Lt standing in front of the captains desk. "Commander Robert Sharp CTSO reporting for duty. LT. I would like to speak to the captain alone." The LT. looks At the Captain and she nods for his dismissal and he exits the ready room. "Captain I will escort you over to the Breen ship I couldn't ask one of my men to volunteer for this mission and as the ctso it is one of my duties is to protect the captain."

Russell had been reading reports when he heard the lift doors open turning round he saw a commander in Yellow walk out, then walk into the captain’s ready room. ‘Well that must be the new CTSO that got transferred here’ Russell had been surprised when he had received the transfer report, but was pleased that he had arrived before the captain left. Russell was about to leave the bridge when the comms officer spoke “someone is hailing us, sir” realising he was the only senior officer on the bridge and the he as speaking to him Russell stood and nodded to the officer.
The view screen switched from the stars to that of the Breen ambassador or at least that was what Russell thought. “Have you considered our proposal?” came the voice Russell recognised the gravely voice of the Breen then quickly hit his comm. badge “Captain, Please report to the bridge the Breen Ambassador has made contact” then he turned to the Ambassador “I have put the proposal past my captain, and the captain has agreed to the terms” Russell continued to avoid using he or she when referring to the captain in case she went with the decoy. “Well when your captain decides to grace us with his presence we will send you our new co-ordinates, we have moved away from the station until your federation ambassador returns” just as the Breen said this the captain walked onto the bridge.

"I need your help creating a sub dermal transportation device. I have the design specs here that I received from engineering... and Mr. Youngblood checked it for security flaws... but we are having a difficult time modulating the carrier wave so that it blends in with background radiation." The FO said. Nack handed her a PADD with schematics on. She looked them over as he continued a talk, a background noise that she managed to tune out.
It did not take too long for Tiana to create the device, she wasn't sure the range was as good as it had been but she was sure that without knowing exactly what you were looking for it would be undetectable. She tried to get the First Officer's attention but he seemed intent on completing his monologue.
"Is this your prototype? That was quick!"
Tiana nodded in response and then before he could say anything else "I've cut back the carrier wave power and reprogrammed the modulation pattern, now unless you know what pattern you are looking for the signal is undetectable. I've got a couple of tests to run but so far everything is looking good." She paused briefly "I was thinking, if someone conducts a deep scan of the Captain then the device will probably show up. However, I understand that the Captain is one of very few Firont to have left their home world so if there is something unusual in her biochemistry, say a dose of diboron, it would be construed as natural if you have never met another Firont."
There was silence for a moment. It seemed to Tiana as if she had struck the FO dumb but obviously he was thinking.
