It had been a refreshing few days since the Jefferson's return to Starbase Assailant. Loskene relished the relaxation while he had it, and he was sure the other officers did the same. There was also the news of the Jefferson's healer, T'Val, leaving to Assailant, and Ambassador Tedak coming aboard. Loskene would make it a point to meet the gentleman....as soon as Loskene tried out the new holodeck program. He eagerly entered the holodeck and exclaimed.
"Computer, activate holo program "Menthar incursion"
Loskene soon found himself in a Promellian star fighter, on the front lines during the Promellian-Menthar war. Menthar star fighter drones soon swarmed in and began their assault on the Promellian starbase. True to history, the Promellian battle cruisers were incredibly massive, powerful ships but they were slow and could not hope to match the speed of the smaller star fighters. It was the Promellian star fighters objective to eliminate the automated Menthar star fighters.
The Menthar drones were stealthy and could perform excellent stunts that a normal pilot could never hope to pull off. They were however, no match for the cleverness of the Promellians. Loskene was just about to open fire on a drone when he heard his communicator chirp. Loskene rolled his eyes.
Loskene: Computer, freeze program.
The action came to a halt and Loskene answered.
Loskene: Admiral Loskene here, go ahead.
Voice: Loskene, this is Vice Admiral Buchanan, sorry to interrupt but you have new orders. Please come to my office within the next 30 minutes. Thank you, Buchanan out.
Loskene reluctantly ended the program and beamed over to Assailant.
"Espionage" Loskene stated.
Buchanan: Well...not exactly. One of our top scientists, a Dr. Lorenz, disappeared on a planet known as "Stubb's world" It is a pre-warp planet, not anywhere near a First Contact attempt. Dr. Lorenz was fascinated with the planet. He discovered it, thought it a fascinating idea to study it. And study it he did, passionately. He became so obsessed with his discovery that he made it a point to beam down and conduct first hand surveys.
Loskene remained silent as Buchanan continued.
Buchanan: Now, there is obviously a population of intelligent beings, humanoids, since I mentioned First Contact. Starfleet has no idea what happened to the scientist, but we fear that he may have been captured by the inhabitants, as his last communique mentioned the humanoids carrying out a hunt of some kind. We need to be sure.
Loskene: Alright, so where does the espionage part come in?
Buchanan: We want you to go and find the doctor. We cannot risk losing him, he is quite literally a genius, albeit eccentric. He has made great strides in the field of terraforming, something that is difficult to do these days.
Loskene: Alright, I understand. But surely we could not carry out a rescue mission, we'd risk exposing ourselves, contaminating these "inhabitants".
Buchanan: My lovely assistant Susie has made the appropriate alterations. It will be quite the interesting masquerade.
Loskene: I see...Espionage as in costumes.
Buchanan: Well, I wouldn't call it such a harsh word.
Loskene: Espionage. Right.
Buchanan: Loskene, this doctor, he has been known to be hot headed, brash with his actions. If he is alive, he must not be allowed to do anything that could jeopardize the planet or it's inhabitants. You must leave immediately.
Loskene: Yes sir, will do.
Buchanan: Best of luck.
Loskene left the admirals office, with a new objective at hand. He returned to the Jefferson and recalled the Jefferson staff.

Scene: Deck 47, Officer's Quarters, Starbase Assailant
It was only 1600 hours, but Matt finally had the chance to sleep, something that he had not done much the past few days. Touring with Caleb drained and tired him out. It was ironic since Matt was only 21, how could he be so old already.
"I'm not old, he's just a jitterbug," Matt said outloud as he saw Caleb sleep. How could someone have so much energy he would never know, but it didn't matter. As long as he was happy, Matt was happy.
Computer resume log
Okay so where was I, oh yeah thats right, we have finally finished touring and shopping. I didn't know that a boy could want so much things. On another note, I really enjoyed my date with Kristin yesterday. We had dinner at Cabo San Lucas and had surf and turf. Well she had the surf because as everyone knows I won't eat or touch seafood. That little fact seemed to be so funny that Kristin couldn't stop laughing. Oh before I forget I went to check on the Jefferson yesterday and I can't believe how quickly they fixed all the damage, she looks brand new. Well thats it for now, I don't think I will have time to do my log for a couple of days.
Computer end log
As soon as he finished his log there was a beeping sound at his console. He was about to just ignore it and go to sleep, but he just couldn't let it sit there. When he activated the message he quickly regretted. It were his orders to report back in to the Jefferson.
"Dang, it seems the Admiral has it in for me," Matt said smiling at his bad luck. He began to pack all of his and Caleb's things. He would let the child rest for a bit longer.
---------------------- Scene: Deck 4, Docking bay, Starbase Assailant
Matt knew that what people were seeing was very strange. A young Starfleet officer being dragged down by heavy loads of bags containing everything from toys to clothes to some jewerly. What was stranger was the fact that a young boy would not stop running around him.
"Caleb, please stop running around, you'll make me drop all of this stuff," Matt said as he struggled to keep everything in his hands.
"I don't want to Matt, I like playing arou...." Caleb said without seeing where he was. He crashed into Matt which caused many of the bags to go flying in the air and scattering everywhere.
Matt was angry, very angry as he saw all the stares from the occupants of the station. Luckily for him there were a couple Jefferson crewmembers near by and helped him out.
"Matt I'm sorry, please don't be mad at me" Caleb said as he handed him a toy to put in his bag. Matt stopped and just looked at the overactive boy.
"Caleb I'm not mad at you, just try to be more careful," Matt said as he for the first time picked him up," Hey Caleb for future reference, I will never be mad at you. Plus how could I be mad at such a cute face."
"Hey I'm not a kid," Caleb said quickly returning to his old self. Matt just laughed and put him down, making sure that he thanked everyone that had helped him pick up the mess.
"Thanks guys," Matt said as he once again picked up the bags.
"Commander you don't have to pick all of those up, we'll help you out," the crewman said.
"Thanks, but I don't want to inconvience you all," Matt said truly not wanting to make his crewmates help him taking all there stuff.
"It's no problem Commander, it will be our pleasure," the crewman said.
"Okay, I won't forget this," Matt said as he let go of some of the bags he was carring.
----------------------- Scene: Deck 2, Officer's Quarters, USS JEFERSON
After thanking the crewman and feeding Zelda, Matt and Caleb went about putting everything in its place. Something that turned out to be harder than expected. They of course had done his room first, but everything that they had bought didn't fit there, so now it was time to decorate Matt's room.
"So where are we going to put all my stuff?" Caleb said sitting on the couch. Matt honestly didn't know what to do.
"You know what you should do it," Matt said turning to Caleb," but just don't mess with this wall." Matt turned to the wall above his bed, where all his weapons and medals hung.
"Are you sure?" Caleb asked mischievously.
"Yes," Matt said as he headed out of the door," just don't destroy nothing and behave I have to go report in."
-------------------------- Scene: Deck 1, Bridge, USS JEFFERSON
Even though he had seen it yesterday the bridge still impressed Matt, it was state of the art and he couldn't wait to get his hands on it.
"Admiral Loskene, Commander Reynolds reporting in for duty," Matt said standing at attention and waiting for the response of his commanding officer.

Jeff loved the location of his quarters, locatd right at the fron tof Deck two. As he looked out of the windows holding a cup of tea, he watched the calm activity of Starbase assailant over the gentle slopw of the Jefferson's hull. Most people liked an unubstucted veiw of the stars, But jeff engoyed seeing the ship. When it was In nice shape, his veiw was as well, It was a nice little indicator.
"I need a chair here..." he mused to himself. "or two." He filed the thought away when his commbadege beeped. "Pudlo here."
"Please report to the bridge Mr. Pudlo." Loskene said over the comm.
"On my way."
Walking over to the wall panel in his room, Jeff opened it, and climbed through up to the bridge, one deck above him.
"Mr. Pudlo?" Mattew was on the bridge already when Jeff came through the wall.
"Felt like a Change in pace. Now what's our mission?"

[Acknowledge, Klingon battle cruiser attack with boarding party action. all kills against the crew to be counted as a momentary stun.]
"Standard fail safes will also be in play, if something really approaches the ship while in the drill the drill stops."
[Commencement time]
Cmdr, Matthew looked at his chronometer, "lets say at 0616."
[Ship wide drill will start in 14 minutes]
James smiled to himself the fun was about to begin.
At exactly 0613 according to the sensors a Klingon battle cruiser decloked off the port nacelle with shields on and weapons at almost full power. The Red Alert went off instantly, waking up many, and the shields were raised.
Off duty crew quickly pulled on uniforms and ran for their stations. Most of the gamma crew was hoping to their various gods that their superiors would get there fast.
While this was a ship wide drill there was only so much realism that the computer could do. It could mimic external and internal sensors.
Turn off, or fluctuate various systems even shut areas down pretending damage has occurred. But the one definite way that the crew would know this was a drill was that one would die. As much as they wished this would happen in real battles they all knew the truth.
Ens. Fastfoot entered the Combat Information Center quickly, and had to steady himself on the way in. The bridge needed info and they needed it fast. "What do you have," He called on his small crew, of 8 beings.
A chief petty officer, EWC Henries replied, "We have a Klingon Battle cruiser, has fire disrupters and phasors so far. Sensors indicate that it probably has drones as well. We are relating this info directly into the Tactical station."
"What about shield strength?"
"We think it’s roughly equal to our own, we need more hits on them to be sure."
"Ok, people keep your eyes peeled. We don't want to miss anything." Fast foot desperately tried not to hover over his crew. He was taught that they would work there best if they felt relaxed, but he felt as if he wasn't doing anything. 'God I hope we don't miss anything'.
And this was just the first couple of minutes into the drill.

Tedak had enjoyed his brief tour around the Jefferson, and he could tell Nut had enjoyed himself too His little brown's eyes were swirling a content blue as he now tore away on a strip of meat. The Romulan diplomat had been pleased to find that the security chief, Lieutenant Daya, had been able to arrange that he could reside in T'Val her quarters during her absence.
The Romulan frowned, he'd still had no news on her situation though he had expected Mercy to keep him informed. ~relax~ the chided himself ~perhaps there is no news yet, she did take a strong dosage of that sleeping aide, she probably won't be awake yet~ He sipped his coffee as he let his mind wander, while he gently stroked his firelizard. He didn't get any particular images from Sev either, and he knew Sev would pass anything on that he received from Yade. The Romulan had noticed that Yade was particularly fond of his bronze, and not just because their bondmates were husband and wife.
He looked up as he heard an announcement from a Commander Matthew, calling for all senior staff to report to briefing room A. Though he wasn't sure whether that would include him, Tedak decided to head there anyway as he still had to introduce himself to the commanding officer. He grabbed a PADD, told Nut that if he promised to remain utterly quiet he could come along, and headed out the door.
Once he got to the briefingroom, he noticed that he fortunately wasn't the last to arrive. In an instant, he spotted Loskene. "Greetings admiral," he started, inclining his head ever so slightly in acknowledgement of the man's presence, "I am Ambassador Tedak, assigned to your vessel by DCS. After this meeting, could I have a private word with you? It concerns your chief medic." He paused a moment before continuing. "My bondmate," he added, "as you know she will not join us this mission, I wish to explain to you why, but prefer to do so in private."

"Welcome back to the new and improved Jefferson, Commander," Admiral Loskene said returning the salute.
"Its great to be back home sir," Matt said realizing that that Lt. Hunter had now joined them.
"Marine 1st Lt William Hunter reporting in for duty." William said standing at attention and waiting for the response from the Captain.
"Welcome back on board Lt. Hunter," Loskene responded," I can't wait to read your Marine detachment report."
<Tag Hunter>
"Hello Mr. Hunter," Matt said turning the young man," how did you enjoy your R&R?"
<Tag Hunter>
Matt was glad that William had also enjoyed his well deserved rest, but now it was time to go work. There was not much to do in respect to department reports since the Jefferson hadn't done much yet.
Attention all senior Department report to Conference room A for New mission Briefing .
"Well here we go," Matt said as stood up and walked to wards the conference room. He wanted to get underway as soon as possible.
-------------------------- Scence:Deck 1, Conference Room A, USS JEFFERSON
Matt was of course the first person to be there, he had always prided himself in being early and prepared. After a few short moments Lt. Hunter, Commander Johnson, Lt. Daya, and Admiral Loskene walked into the room. Matt found it strange that T'Val had yet not arrived at the meeting. After him, she was always there next.
"Do you know where Healer T'Val is?" Matt asked to the officers.
<Tag Johnson/Daya/Hunter/Loskene>
Matt was surprised that he hadn't heard anything about T'Val while he was at Assailant, but then again T'Val was a very private person and she would want to keep it to family only. Matt noticed that a Romulan male had just entered the conference room and he introduced himself to the Admiral as.
"I am Ambassador Tedak, assigned to your vessel by DCS." Matt didn't mean to keep on listening, but when Tedak said chief medical officer, he quickly realized who this man must be.
Unfortunately Matt couldn't learn anything new since Commander Matthews entered the conference room and Admiral Loskene stood up to brief the senior staff.

:Counsellor Tosin Lobel's Office:
Tosin had been working for hours reviewing the hundreds of psychological profiles of the Jefferson crew. There was no doubt that it would be a challenge adapting to the huge caseload he expected being the lone counselor on a ship of the Jefferson's size. He was already booked for the next two weeks. After reviewing the senior staff's profiles and 50 other in-depth files he decided to take a break. The great part of being a counselor is the fact that you can get away with slacking at times since you often work out of a private office. Lobel reclined back in the cushy patient chair and started to doze off after a couple of minutes. But suddenly his comm badge chirped ordering him to the Conference Room.
"*Sighs* What could possibly be more important" Lobel said to himself in annoyance.
He straightened his uniform and hair out and then started for the conference room. He grabbed a seat at the end of the table and waited.

Even though the Jefferson was docked at a Federation Starbase two of the ships Security Officers stood at the airlock. It was quite a tedious job when in dock. The Jefferson was in an internal dock and within the secure Starfleet Cordon that Assailant maintained around the bases more sensitive areas. "You been to Qareks?" "Nah" Joraness replied stifling a yawn, "Why whats there?" "Pretty much everything. Hes got an amazing deal on Spican Gems." Hems replied. "Deal" Joraness said her eyborws raised "My mother always beware of a Ferengis deal." "yeah and you mother died a pauper" Joraness stifled an urge to hit Hems and was glad she did so as she noticed someone emerging from the airlock. "Sir" she snapped curtly "At ease" the man responded. The officers relaxed but didnt move. "Exuse me. Your making it rather hard to enter." the man smiled. "Sorry Sir, but boarding passes are required." Again the man smiled, but this time it was colder. "Well I dont have one." he answered "But surely these will do" he suggested pointing to his collar. "Err yes sir. Sorry sir, just following protocol." "No worries. Where might I find Admiral Loskene?" "He's briefing the senior staff." "Thankyou."
***
Just as Loskene rose and moved to the head of the table to activate the computer display the door hissed open again. Odd he thought everyone is here. He turned and saw a Trill Admiral stood in the doorframe. "Admiral Sir" He responded in surprise, "Sorry to interrupt Losk. Given the briefing I take it that you recieved 'Buchs' orders." "Well yes." Loskene replied, "Well theres slightly more to it than he explianed, Perhas we could have a word in private in your ready room." Magellan turned to the rest of the crew assembled, "Sorry about this, this won't take a moment."

Scence:Deck 1, Conference Room A, USS JEFFERSON
"Well first off I'd like say how happy I am with the repairs to the Jefferson," Admiral Loskene said beginning his briefing," she looks brand new. Yet it is time to work..." Admiral stopped speaking since he heard the door to the conference room opened.
Matt was the first person to realize who it was and called everyone to order.
"Admiral on deck." Everyone quickly stood up and were at attention.
"Admiral Sir" He responded in surprise,
"Sorry to interrupt Losk. Given the briefing I take it that you received 'Buchs' orders."
"Well yes." Loskene replied,
"Well theres slightly more to it than he explained, Perhaps we could have a word in private in your ready room." Magellan turned to the rest of the crew assembled, and motioned for them to be at ease. "Sorry about this, this won't take a moment."
As soon as both Admiral's left the conference room there was immediate whispering as to why someone as powerful as Admiral Lin would be on the Jefferson to brief the Captain.
"Do you think this mission will be classified?" Matt asked.
"Maybe, why else would Admiral Lin be here," Daya said.
"There is no point in speculating we will just have to wait until RA Loskene comes back and debriefs us," Commander Matthews said as he sat down and awaited for the Captain.

Tedak was just about to get Loskene's attention when both men's attention was drawn towards the newcomer. To his surprise, the Romulan saw Magellan enter the briefing room, and he just barely in time motioned for Nut to remain quiet and not utter a peep at Dinas.
While the base CO led the ship's CO away a few paces, Tedak took this moment to take in the faces of the officers before him. The only one he recognized was the chief of security, but he knew none of the others. He hadn't missed the whispers about T'Val's absence, even his sharp hearing would pick up on the low voices. He also noticed that two of the young men present seemed particularly interested, and also worried.
The Romulan diplomat walked up to Hunter and Reynolds. "I could not help but overhear your conversation," he apollogized, "but you were both wondering where your healer is. Healer T'Val is unwell and she will not be partaking in this mission, she is recovering on Assaillant." Tedak looked pained as he said it, he dispised lying but he saw no other delicate way to bring the news, without discrediting his bondmate. He inclined his head slightly to the two young men. "Healer T'Val is my wife," he said, by way of explaining how he knew.

Loskene was quite surprised to see Admiral Lin on board the Jefferson. He had rarely paid a visit to the Jefferson, let alone the other ships in the fleet due to his busy schedule. It must have been something important, perhaps something pertaining to the mission. Loskene nodded when the admiral requested a word with him.
Once they had reached Loskene's ready room, Loskene pulled up a chair for the Admiral.
Loskene: What can I do for you sir?

Daya sat in the room surrounded by others and sighed, he did not like what was going on. The ambassador was in the room and talking amongst some of the others, 'probly getting to know them' he thought.
"Ambassador, may i ask why are you here? i know your T'val's bondmate, but why are you on this ship?" Daya said as he leaned back in his chair, just making small talk with the ambassador.

Magellan paused to gaze out the window in to the vast internal dock. "I m not sure how much your going to like this." "By the sounds of it not much" Loskene replied, Magellan paused, "Buchanens information is a little out of date... well light on info. Command does want the terraformer found its just that Buch doesnt know the real reason why." "Go on." "As you know Qualinost below us was jsut successfully terraformed in 2 years by Dr Hyan Sharex." "The tellarite" "Yes he is one of Lorenz's competitors at command. Sharex seems to have beaten him to the punch, but nevertheless Lorenz is a master mind but also likely to be miffed Sharex got Project Gaia to work. The problem however as always is the Romulans. The Romulans are financial partners in Qualinost terraforming, many are impressed by the success and want their own planets doen - they asked Dr Sharex to work with them. He refused." "I see and now they want to ask Lorenz" "Sort of Starfleet have agreed to assist teh Romulans own researchers however their are sects within the Romulan Empire that want Lornez for themselves" "And starfleet is worried if they find him first he'll side with them out of spite for losing out to Sharex." "Its something we cant risk. I ve arranged for Ambassador Tedak to join this mission. He'll smooth the way if you encounter any romulans. He a good sort... for a Romulan. So keep an eye on him, but he can be trusted." Loskene leaned forward, "That all seems quite straight forward." "Not the next bit. The increase in Romulan Factions attacks on S47 ships and personnel is becoming a concern. They may or may not be acting on behalf of the senate but we cant allow it to continue. The re-appearance of teh Debrune and our efforts to ally with them have unsettled many of their factions. I am setting up a new oversight committee to monitor the romulan issue. It will be a desk job on Assailant and will double as my Base XO - given your recent contact with romulans at Cirrius Procae I want you to take that position." "Thats a big ask sir" Loskene replied somewhat taken aback. "I know. Think it over. You can either come aboard now or after this mission, either way Command wants you at that desk and so would I." "Thankyou sir I l think it over." "See that you do. Its tough one. I ll be in my office when you ve made up your mind. Good Day."
Magellan left the Admiral sat in the ready room deep in thought and quickly made his way back to teh airlock and subsequently his office in Main Ops.

Matthews gave Lobel his orders and Lobel followed the rest of the senior staff as they filed out of the conference room. Lobel had one of the more time consuming responsibilities in this ordeal. When he got back to his office he wasted no time in getting to work. Before reading anything he first wanted to get all the psychological profiles together. After digging up all the information he could it was clear that there was significantly more information on Lorenz than on Sharex. After Lobel reviewed all the information he began his report:
Dr. Lorenz is as serious about his work as you can be. He gets frustrated easily and in the past it has occasionally led to physical fights with other scientists and people whom he felt threatened his work. Over the past year he has let his work get in the way of virtually everything. Lorenz' wife is dead though does have two grown children living back home. After contacting both of his children they claim that contact with him has dissipated greatly especially over the past year and a half.
My best bet says that when he finds out he was beaten to the chase he could easily go over the edge. I would expect him to be armed and dangerous. I also don't think he's capable of making rational decisions at this time.
Sharex is similar to Lorenz in the fact that he also takes his work very seriously but it doesn't seem as though he lets it take over his life nearly as much as Lorenz does. One of Sharex' recent logs had Sharex saying "I would like nothing more than to see his face when he finds out who the superior scientist here is." It's tough to tell if it's just extreme competitiveness between the two or if there is some true dislike there. Though on a hunch I'd say it's somewhere in between. Sharex could also be dangerous but if the reports are accurate he should be in far superior psychological form.
After Lobel concluded his report he brought it up to Commander Matthews.
:Bridge:
"Well, there's your report. I wouldn't worry too much, they're probably just enjoying an ice cream cone together." Lobel said sarcastically.
Lobel took a seat on the bridge.

"Aye," Matt responded to his XO with a smile. Matt listened while Commander Matthews gave the rest of the orders and after completing the briefing Matt was the first to get up and leave. He knew that Quarter or dock masters where a hassle do deal with.
Before he could sit down the entire senior staff had given them the list of supplies that they required for this mission. As he glanced at it he was pleased to see that there wasn't any exsaggerant request.
"Lt. Quindara please get me the dock master," Matt said as he sat down at his station.
"What can I do for you Commander?" an old bald man asked.
"I am sending you the Jefferson's supply list, I will need it before 1030 hours," Matt said.
"Why will you need it so soon?" the dock master asked.
"Because that is when the Jefferson will be leaving dock," Matt said with a smile. The smile on the dockmaster's face faded as he soon realized what Matt was asking of him.
"Commander it's not possible," he responded," especially for a Soverign."
"I think that RA Loskene would disagree with you," Matt responded. When he heard Loskene rank his shoulders shrank into the seat knowing that for the next 90 minutes he would be working his tail off.
"The Jefferson will be ready to leave dock in 90 minutes Assailant out," the dockmaster said as he cut transmission.
"See Commander I told you that mentioning the Admiral's name would have its advantages," Commander Matthews said as he sat on his chair.

Jeff nodded. After all, the shipwas in good condition. he ahad seen to that himself, and gotten a few extra days of leave by staying on duty while the ship was docked. "engineering should be ready for just about everything, but I don't have all my modifacations to the new equipment one yet,so don't ask for more then warp 9.75 until I have the new systems online."
"How long will that be?"
"A day at most."
"Very well."
"I try. are we going to be doing anything out of the ordinary with the equipment?"
"Not that I know of."
"too bad..." Jeff headed down to engineering.

Loskene sat silent for a few minutes, thinking over Admiral Lin's proposal. He was speechless, as it had all happened so quickly. Loskene had known of the Romulan threat all too well, especially during the mission involving Cirrus Procae. If there were indeed different Romulan sects vieing for power, it would make the task that much more difficult. Loskene was more preoccupied with the fact of his departure. He thought it over for quite a while, and then contacted Magellan from his office.
Lin: Yes, Admiral Lin here.
Loskene: Hello again sir. I have thought it over, and I think it best that I stay here, and follow this mission through to its end.....and then I will report aboard Assailant and accept the position. I trust this is acceptable with your, sir?
<tag Magellan>
Loskene rose from his seat and looked in the mirror.
My...final mission... Difficult to believe. Even more difficult to accept. My true home away from home...I cannot imagine my Starfleet career without a starship. This starship...
Loskene was unsure how to inform the crew. Would he tell them now to get it out of the way, or would he wait? He stepped out of his office and onto the bridge.
Loskene: ....Stations ready everyone? Mr. Lobel, welcome aboard and good work on your profiles. I agree with your assessment and this Dr. Lorenz must be dealt with, using extreme caution. However, we have a slight problem. Starfleet believes that a Romulan sect or sects is looking out for our doctor as well. We will have to beat them to the punch, while still maintaining careful operations to avoid contaminating the pre-warp inhabitants on the planet. That being said, Mr. Johnson, please lay in a course to Stubb's world, maximum warp.

Magellan recieved Loskenes call and his answer, "I understand Loskene, I actually think yo umaybe needed on this mission. I have some more infornmation for you. Dr Sharex is with me at thge moment. We were just going over the final stages of the terraforming of Qualinost. He is concerned Lorenz maybe susceptible to romulan influence. They have also tried to recruit him again. I ve placed Sharex under protection and will remain on Assailant until this is sorted. I suggest you find Lorenz ASAP. Magellan out and good luck."

The Romulan diplomat emerged from the turbolift and calmly took in the scene on the bridge. It had only been a brief moment when he had been here before to report in, but now he took a little longer to have a look around. It was as T'Val had described to him, the bridge looked majestic.
He listened as Loskene explained what was going on, and stepped down to the command level of the bridge. "I know your experience with Romulans is not one of the most pleasant," he started gently, "but I do hope you understand that I am here to assist you in any way I can. However I don't have any information on this Doctor Lorenz, any assistance from you would be extremely welcome. I have questioned Miss Rayna, but she says not to know anything on the matter and informed me that T'Val didn't know him either. What sort of doctor is he?"
<loskene>
ooc: shorty I know...but I've no idea where to take this....bit of a hint to help me along would be greatly appreciated

Jeff was tinkering in engineering- he had gotten the warp drive up to his standards (20% higher then standard Starfleet) and with a greater margin of error in operation of the core and engines. He kenw he could get even better out of the core, but he still had to work on the impulse exaust feeding. It was adjusted so that all exaust would stay in the chamber for three times as long, at least in theory. That way more of the fuel would burn, and the ship could cruse on impulse for longer. the system was almost perfected, and a claim application had already been sent to the federation council patent claims office. little more then a formality, but hey, it got your name attached.
In his office, Jeff tinkered with the design specs on the simulation computer for a while, than let his attention drift to the terraforming projects taht had been used. Pulling up some data on the devices themselves, Jeff started some research on them.
