Nathan closed the final panel on the bridge and smiled. A good job jobbed as he is father used to say. He brought the targeting sensors back online and was delighted to find out that effiency was up by 15% With the repairs complete Nathan decided that he would go down to his quaters and get the report done. 10 minutes later and in his quaters Nahan sat down with a hot mug of tea and a padd.
U.S.S. Raven NCC-750059-A
Ship Tactical / Secuirty status report. Alert status - GreenOverview: Shields: 98% - OfflineHull: 100% Phasers: 99% - OfflineTorpedo tubes: 100% - OfflineRepair Log: Plasma flow diverted and disrupted due to unsafe practices on Main Bridge. Three consoles replaced and four upgrades to the targeting sensors. Torpedos and Phasers upgraded to latest Starfleet specs.
It was a short report but it covered all the details. Nathans face began to sting again. Maybe he should go back to sickbay fro soem more treatment. He decided that it could wait until they were under way. With the padd in hand Nathan headed for the Bridge and the Captains ready room. Preparing himself to give a full report.

Majeski was on his way to sickbay to Check on Strife, she was in pretty bad shape when she was beamed to sickbay when he bumped into Nathan.
"Sir" Nathan came to attention and held out the Padd
Majeski tilted his head and looked at it then took it and red it and winced "Oiy Shelds gone phasers? Torpeados? "
"Yes sir" Nathan nodded
"We have to leave in asap Nathan, so due the best you can take what ever personell you can alright?"
"Yes sir"
"Good" Majeski smiled and gave the boy a slap on the back for encouragement he didn't notice Nathan wince when he did it though he didn't mean to do it to hard but as nathan walked away majeski gave him the pat and he nearly fell forward
Continuing on his way to sickbay he entered the turbo lift "Deck eight" he said the lift started up and he put his hands behind his back and as it came to a slow he stepped out and walked towards sickbay , he rounded the corner and entered and Amhil was looking directly at him
"Oh" she called out in surprise "good to see you commander"
Majeski nodded "thank you doctor but I came to Check on Strife is she ok?"
Amhil shook her head "She's in bad shape , she's lucky she even survived that blast by all rights with her injouries she shouldn't have lived"
Majeski blinkend in shock and allowed the Amhil lead him to her
Strife was laying on the biobed unconcious, Majeski bowed his head in respect "Can you wake her?" he asked
"not for another 24 hours sir"
"Alight then let me know when you can" Majeski said
"Yes sir, i'm sorry" Amhil said
Majeski only gave her a blank look and said nothing and turned and headed to the bridge

Dan stepped into the Captain's Ready Room.
Weill: Report.
Dan: Well, it took over 2 hours, but I've finally repaired the damage caused during Ensign Harper's upgrades. Shields, phasers, and torpedoes are back online, and all the damage to the EPS systems have been repaired.
Weill: Very good, Commander. Anything else?
Dan: Yes, sir. I would very much appreciate if Ensign Harper not do any upgrades again without the notifying and consulting me first.

Alex looked up from Science 1 as he heard the door to the Captain's Ready Room swish open. Commander Trek walked across the bridge and stepped onto the turbolift. He didn't look very happy.
Looking back down, Alex saw that there was very little else for him to do on the bridge. Most of the preparation work for the new mission was done, but he had yet to inform the Captain of what the requirements of his little science mission while they were enroute would be. He also had to have a brief chat with the Captain anyway, so he picked up two PADDs that were at his console, walked over to the door of the captain's room and entered.
Captain Weill was sitting behind his desk examining a PADD. Alex walked over and stood in front of the desk, waiting. Weill made some notes and looked up. "Yes Commander? What can I do for you?"
"Sir, I have a few things to bring up. I would like to run a brief science mission on the Burnham system. It is one of the few quadruple star systems known to the Federation and we will be the first Federation starship to pass by there in four years" Alex reported, handing over one of his PADDs for the captain's study.
Weill took the PADD and examined the mission requirements for a few minutes. "This seems to be fine. How long will we have to be at impulse?" the Captain asked.
"About an hour sir" Dixon replied. "We will do a full survey using the lateral sensor array, and then launch a Class 8 probe and monitor telemetry as the Raven continues to CS11".
Captain Weill nodded. "That's fine, Commander. You said that you have things to bring up."
"Yes sir. I would also like to recommend Lts. Collaan and Quarel for promotion. They have both been doing an excellent job in their positions and deserve advancement."
"I see. And what about Lt. Ruten. Is he not doing an excellent job as well?" the captain inquired, watching his science officer carefully."
Whoops, Alex thought to himself, he hadn't been expecting that question. "Umm, well, he had been a good officer and head of Planetary Sciences, but I don't feel that he is at the same calibre as the other two."
Captain Weill held out his hand and Alex handed over the PADD with the recommendations for Lt's. Collaan and Quarel. "I will mention this to Commander Majeski, as the First Officer is the person who makes official recommendations regarding ship promotions. However, it is your job to make sure that you are getting the best from all of your officers, including Lt. Ruten. You must examine his record and find out why you haven't recommended him for promotion, and then help him overcome those obstacles. That is your job as his officer, and something that you should keep in mind. Dismissed."
Weill sat back in his chair and Alex turned and left the Ready Room.

The monitor beeped. Amhil sighed. She couldn't concentrate on her work and it was getting late. Except for two people, there was nobody in sickbay. Strife was laying in one of the biobeds and Amhil was filling out a report.
When Strife was beamed in, Amhil had been seriously worried about her injuries. And after the first half an hour of worrying about Strife's condition, they finally got her stable. She had quite some healing to do and she needed a lot of rest. But Amhil was certain of a full recovery.
Amhil could have actually waked Strife right then when Majeski asked her about it, but she preferred that she woke up on her own. Amhil had made a promise that she would tell Majeski when the CNO would wake up, so she would just wait for a little while...She was pretty sure Strife would wake up in a couple of hours.
Amhil smiled, it was just a matter of time. Still, Strife had to stay in Sickbay for at least another two days, if not longer. Amhil hoped she didn't hate sickbay as much as some other patients..
Thinking about that, her thoughts drifted back to Nathan. She was surprised he hadn't come back to sickbay, Amhil knew that his face had to sting at least a little. Well, they say CTSO's are one of the worst patients.
Amhil looked down at her padd. The monitor beeped. She sighed.

Alex was sitting at his station when Captain Weill walked out of his ready room and took his chair in the middle of the bridge. Commander Majeski was already present.
"Mr. Majeski, does the ship show ready for departure?" the Captain inquired.
"Yes sir. Repairs have been completed and all sections show ready." the First Officer replied.
"Excellent. Mr. Harper, open a channel to Starfleet operations." The tactical officer tapped a few buttons on his console carefully. Alex thought that he looked a little uncomfortable and his face showed the effects of the plasma explosion that he had suffered.
"Channel open, sir." Harper reported.
Standing, Weill said "This is the USS Raven. We are preparing to leave Starbase. Is there any other traffic that we should be aware of?"
There was a slight pause, then a voice answered "Negative Raven. There is no incoming or outgoing traffic. You are cleared to leave Starbase. Good luck on you mission. Operations out."
Weill nodded to himself and turned to the navigation officer, a very young looking Vulcan ensign. "Ensign, take us out of spacedock, manuevering thrusters only." The officer turned back to his console and started entering instructions, and the Intrepid class vessel slowly left its' berth and made it way to the huge main doors of the docking bay, which were opening slowly as the ship approached.
The Raven was just passing through the doors when a hurried voice unexpectedly sounded through the bridge. "Raven, this is Starbase Operations. We are experiencing a problem. The main doors are closing due to some kind of malfunction. Ignore protocols and clear the doors as quickly as possible!" Alex quickly accessed the sensors and saw that the doors were indeed closing. If they maintained their present speed, the warp nacelles would probably sustain a direct impact.
Maintaining his composure, Captain Weill stepped over to the navigation console and quietly said "Ensign, activate impulse engines and give us half impulse until we clear the doors." The ensign nodded and followed orders, and the ship sprang through the doors and into open space unharmed. Majeski oriented the main view back at the station and they all watched as the doors slammed shut behind them.
"This is the Raven to Starbase Operations. What caused that?" the Captain asked angrily.
'Were checking it now, Captain. Nothing like that has ever happened before." the voice apologized.
Weill gave Harper a look, which the tactical officer understood and closed the channel. Weill remained standing in the middle of the bridge, thinking, as all eyes were on him. "Mr. Majeski, it seems that we are suffering some unusual problems on this mission. I want the ship kept on yellow alert at all times. Is that clear?" The first officer nodded and put the ship at the requested alert condition.
Weill turned back to the navigator. "Ensign, put us on course to the coordinates that Mr. Dixon will give to you for the Burnham system. We will be running an examination on our way to CS11."
Alex heard and sent the coordinates to the navigator. The ensign received them and set course. The Raven leaped into warp.
Alex activated the main sensors and took a very careful sensor sweep of the area around them. He had had enough bad luck for one mission, and wanted to avoid any more.

OFF: Sorry for not posting the past few days, my computer was messed up (again) but now Im back and ready to post...
ON:
Nathan sighed as they cleared the Starbase doors. This was too wierd. First the text message from the Starbase saying not to proceed to CS11 then the explosion in engineering that was an "accident" and finally the "accident" on the bridge with the tactical console during repairs. Some one dosent want this mission to continue.
<TAG>
OFF: Sorry its a short post but I just wanted everyone to know Im back ;D

OOC
Glad to have you back Nathan. It might be pretty quiet with Dan Trek and the Captain out for a bit, but the entire crew should try and make it interesting while they are gone, so they have some reading to do when they get back. ;D

Alex continued to scan the Raven's course with sensors. There wasn't a whole lot to examine right now. All that was showing right now were tracks for 3 cargo ships on their way to various destinations and a class 4 comet tumbling it's way through. Just out of interests sake, Alex ran a computer simulation of the comet's course and found that, barring unforseen encounters, the comet would fall into the star designated XY20456a in about 200 years. Interesting, but hardly a galaxy shattering discovery.
Alex looked up from his console. There wasn't much going on on the bridge either. Weill had disappeared back into his ready room, Majeski had the bridge and was quietly sitting in the captain's chair, examining something Alex couldn't see from where he was. The ship was still on yellow alert and Ensign Harper seemed quite busy, keeping in contact with security teams on the ship.
Returning to work, Alex decided to run a level 3 diagnostic on the sensors and scientific probes on board to verify that they were still working properly. The diagnostic ran quickly, and the sensors and probes still seemed fine.
Shrugging, Alex watched the scanners.

Majeski was reading a padd and letting a low growl as Dixion tried to read over his shoulder one of his pet peeves. But somthing though harpers investigation of the explosion in sickbay confused him it was the traces of blood that was left behind on a console and it didn't belong to the crew. Looking it over one last time, he let out a sight when Dixion let out a startked cry from behind him. snapping out of his train of though Majeski's head whipped around.
"What is it commander?" Majeski asked
"One of the probes disapeared" Dixion said still in shock
Majeski slowly got up and reached the science station "Explain"
"I don't know sir...it just ......vanished" Dixion was frowning taking reading and going over the probes last readings
"Slow down to half impulse, maintain yellow alert" Majeski ordered
"Eye sir" The conn officer said
"Majeski to Weill"
"Go ahead commander" Weill responded
"You might want to come to the bridge sir" Majeski said
"On my way" Weill said

The last thing strife remebered was the her climbing a ladder to the top of engineering with minor difficuties due to being 7 months pregnant was looking at thier cheif engineer she was about to call him to help her pull her extra bulk when a brilliant hot flash hit her she litterally felt her fleash melt and burn and her first though was a warp core breach
Then every thing whent grey and fuzzy
She woke up floating and she saw her adotive father father
~This can't be~ She thought ~he died over three years ago~ but sure enought there he was
My dear little girl, you where never biologically mine but you came the closest thing I've ever had He grabbed her hand and pulled her close in an embrace this is not your time , your daughter will be born soon "But daddy" she cried "The ship it's been destroyed"
No it hasn't it still there, an explosion an act of sabotoage now get away from the light go back to where you belong your time in history has yet to come
"My time in what?" She was confused it didn't make sense the next thing she knew she couln't breathe and the searing of her face hit her
then nothingness
She awoke to the face of Dr Amhil , she was a small blonde with blue eyes Strife thought it was her mother for a second "Mother????"
"No not your mother" Came the response "just the ships good ol doctor"
"My Child???......" Strife started to sit up but Amhil's palm came down on her shoulder and forced her to lay back again
"is fine, one heathy child thats due in three months, now you excuse me I have to contact the First officer now that your awake" Dr Amhil said and left her alone to figure out what has happend

The captain stepped onto the bridge from his ready room and walked over to Commander Majeski. "Report." He said calmly.
Majeski took a deep breath and explained. "Commander Dixon was running a level 3 diagnostic on the probes and says that one of them has disappeared from it's holding bay."
Captain Weill looked over at Alex. "Is this correct, Commander Dixon?"
"Yes sir. I ran a diagnostic on all scientific systems after all the problems that we had on Starbase and all of the probes registered as present. I ran one a few minutes ago, just to keep an eye on the systems and a Class 8 probe was no longer in it's storage bay. I have been doing constant sweeps with the sensors. There have been no ships close enough to do something like this since we left starbase" Alex reported.
The captain looked over at his tactical officer. "And what do you have to say about this, Ensign Harper?"
The ensign looked up from his console. "Sir, the ship is still at yellow alert. Sensors haven't detected any transport traces. There are a half dozen security teams on alert all over the ship. They haven't seen anything. I can't explain how a probe could have been removed from the ship, or hidden aboard."
Captain Weill turned and stared at the main viewer and watched the shifting star scene for several seconds and then turned back to his waiting crew. "Commander Dixon, I want you to physically verify that the probe is missing by checking the probe storage area. Take a security team with you. Ensign Harper, please scan the area using whatever means necessary to determine if there is a cloaked ship nearby. Commander Majeski, coordinate both efforts from the bridge."
With that, the Captain returned to his ready room.
Alex stared after the captain, a little surprised that he was leaving all this to the crew, until Majeski growled "Well, you heard what the captain said. Get moving!"
Jumping a little in surprise, Alex quickly picked up a tricorder from his station and walked towards the turbolift. "Ensign, have your security team meet me outside the probe storage area on Deck 8." Alex turned and heard Harper confirm the order and then the doors closed.
Alex stepped off of the turbolift on Deck 8 and walked towards the probe storage area. He checked around, but didn't see the security team, or anyone else for that matter. That wouldn't be unusual. There wasn't very much on Deck 8. It was mostly used for deutrerium storage. Alex waited nervously for the security team, checking to make sure that his small hand phaser was still securely strapped to his wrist. While he was doing that, he heard the lift doors swish open and a two person security team appeared. It was a Vulcan female ensign and a human male crew member. The two of them walked up to Alex.
"Sir, reporting as ordered. I am ensign V'lar and this is crewman Tapson" the Vulcan stated.
"Thank you ensign. A diagnostic has noted that one of our probes has disappeared from the storage area. Keep an eye out while I verify that it is actually gone." Alex told the two security members. They nodded and gestured him aside. Alex moved out of the way and the two of them entered the storage area, phasers drawn. Alex followed them in.
There wasn't much to see in the storage area. Just row after row of probes, ready to be used. Alex stood by the door, using his tricorder to find anything unusual as the security team searched. Neither he nor they found anything out of the ordinary.
The two of them walked with Alex to where the missing probe would be. Alex still had his tricorder out as he walked to the correct storage location. Turning a corner, his eyes widened as he saw something unexpected. Raising his tricorder, he verified what he was seeing. then he tapped his comm badge.
"Dixon to bridge. We have completed our search of the storage area. The probe is still here. I have verified it with my own eyes" he reported.
"Thank you commander. Return to the bridge. Majeski out" the first officers voice answered.
As the three of them walked back to the turbolift, Alex wondered what made him more nervous, whether someone could have stolen a probe or whether there was someone aboard who was able to manipulate the sensors to make it look like a probe had disappeared.

With the probe now definatel where it should be Harper ordered the tow security team members to the bridge. The senior staff were and he did not want any of them dissapearing.
Next Nathan acted on his new orders. To determine wethere there were any cloaked vessels in the vicinity, by any means possible. The normal way to check would be to scan for tachion emissions but the computers alarm would of sounded if that were the case. Natahn decided to be a little unauthodox. He prepared a tupe 4 torpedo for launch and deactivated the detinator. The torpedo would float out beyond the ship and Harper would destroy it with the phasers. Any rsidue of the torpedo would be attracted to sheilds, weapons or any other discharge from a ship within a 50 mile radius. If any ship was nearby he would find it.

It was only half an hour later that Amhil looked up from her padd when the monitor above Strife's biobed began beeping. She stood and walked over to the bed and saw that the CNO would probably wake any second. Indeed a moment later her eyes opened and she looked up at Amhil. A look of confusion appeared on Strife's face.
"Mother??"
"No..not your Mother." Amhil replied and smiled. "Just the ships good ol' doctor."
"My child?" Strife tried to get up but Amhil's hand came down on her shoulder and forced her to lay back again.
"-Is fine, one healthy child that's due in three months. Now excuse me, I have to contact the First officer now that you're awake." Amhil answered and turned around before Strife had the change to bombard her with questions. Amhil wanted to contact Majeski first, after that she would probably answer a few questions.
=/\="Lt. Eddons to Commander Majeski."=/\=
=/\="What is it doctor?"=/\= Came the response.
=/\="I'm happy to say that Lieutenant Commander Cavit just woke up and I figured you'd like to know."=/\=
=/\="That's good news, Lieutenant."=/\= Majeski answered.

Alex finished his scans. There didn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary in the probe storage area. The two security personel had completed their sweep and Alex heard Ensign Harper order them to the bridge. V'lar came over. "Excuse me Commander, we have been ordered to the bridge. Are you coming with us?"
"Not right now ensign. I want to check around here for a few minutes." Dixon replied.
V'lar nodded and the two of them left. Alex heard the turbolift doors open and close and he was alone on Deck 8. He tapped his comm badge. "Dixon to Lt. Quarel, please run a level 3 diagnostic on the probes."
"Aye sir" his assistant replied. After a few minutes, the Ferengi reported his findings. "There is still a probe missing sir."
Alex frowned. He was looking at the missing probe. He walked over to a maintenance locker, picked up a tool kit and returned to the probe. Alex activated his tricorder and ran a diagnostic. It seemed to be working fine. Puzzled, he took some tools out of the kit and opened the probe's primary maintenance hatch. Looking inside, he became even more puzzled. The probe circuitry looked...odd somehow, but Alex couldn't figure out what the problem was. He put his hand up against the circuitry board. Didn't feel right either. Grabbing a sequencer, Alex opened the main circuitry panel to access the primary sensor pallet inside the probe. However, he didn't see it after opening the hatch. Quickly picking up a light, Alex shone it inside the probe. There was nothing inside, except for some scattered equipment. Alex picked it up and dropped it on the deck. It was simple life support equipment. Otherwise the probe was empty. However, without the sensor equipment, a Class 8 probe was just big enough to house one average sized humanoid.
Alex pulled his phaser from it's wrist holster and started making his way carefully to the turbolift. Tapping his comm badge, he said "Dixon to Ensign Harper. Intruder alert."

Alex stepped off of the turbolift and back onto the bridge. The red alert light was on. Majeski turned to him and said "Report."
"I checked out the probe. It seems that the probe itself was a dummy. It was made to simulate the appearance of a functional probe, but wasn't done well enough to fool a diagnostic. The sensor pallet and warp drive on the interior has been removed, which leaves just enough space for one person. There was also some basic life support equipment inside" Alex informed the first officer.
"Great" Majeski growled. Any idea as to who or what might be inside?""
"No sir, not yet. An examination of my tricorder readings by an expert might yield some results though." Alex answered.
"Fine, take your tricorder down to Sick Bay and ask the doctor to analyze it, looking for the species that had been in the probe and any other useful information. Take Ensign V'lar along for security." The Vulcan ensign straightened up at the sound of her name.
"Yes sir." Alex nodded at the ensign and the two of them boarded the turbolift and headed to Sick Bay. Doctor Amhil was expecting them.
"You have some tricorder readings that you want analyzed?" she asked.
"Yes" Alex replied. "If possible, I would like to know the species that was hiding inside the probe shell."
Amhil took the tricorder and walked over to the main medical console. "This should only take a few minutes." She said over her shoulder. Alex and V'lar settled in to wait.

Hearing about the dummy probe made Nathan want to find out what was going on even more.
=^= Nathan Harper to Captain Weill. =^=
=^= Weill here go ahead Ensign. =^=
=^= I am just about to launch a torpedo with your permission Sir. To see if I can discover who if anyone is out there. =^=
=^= Understood Ensign. Do what you have to. Weill out. =^=
Nathan touched the console and the deactivated torpdo was launched from the Raven.
It took 2 minutes to reach the necessary distance. Nathan then fired one phaser blast and activated the motion and heat senors at tactical. The sensors lit up briefly and then…
“Commander I am detecting a possible three unknown cloaked vessels out there!” Nathan yelled.
“Red Alert! Standby all stations.” Majeski ordered.
Thats when they fired...

The Shields where halfway up when the first blow hit so the ship took the frst impact without shields. The deck pitched to starboard and sent people out of thier Chairs Majeski Managed to grip the command chair and stay on his feet
"Hull breach on deck sixteen" Harper yelled over the alarms
"Seal it off" Majeski roared at Belinia the ops officer then he turned to Harper "Return fire Maximum phaser power"
"Aye sir"
Majeski stood there with a look on his face that when the Navigation officer turned to look at him he turned away immeditely because the look in majeski's eyes spelled death
and the person who shot at them was most likely save due to the fact Weill arrived on the bridge
as soon as he stepped on to the bridge he yelled "report"
"Sir three romulan ships just decloked" Majeski said as the deck pitched again this time he wasn't hodling onto anything and was send flying forward towards the helm

Amhil looked up when the doors opened. Ensign V'lar and Commander Dixon walked in, she had been expecting them.
"You have some tricorder readings that you want analyzed?" Amhil asked.
"Yes" Alex replied. "If possible, I would like to know the species that was hiding inside the probe shell."
Amhil took the tricorder and walked over to the main medical console. "This should only take a few minutes." She said over her shoulder. Alex and V'lar settled in to wait.
Amhil quickly got to work and downloaded the data of the tricorder into the main console. She examined the scans Alex had taken of the probe and with some help of the Database she soon got some results on what species might have been hiding inside the probe. She frowned and checked the results again.
"Well..." She began and Alex looked up eagerly. "That's odd."
"What's odd?" Alex asked, walked over to the console and looked over her shoulder.
"When you look this.." Amhil nodded to the screen. " You can see it was definitely a Human."
Alex nodded and looked to the other side of the screen, he pointed to one of the results. "And what's that?"
"Well that's the odd thing about it. It isn't an exact match when you look at our DNA. There's a difference." Amhil's hands flew over the controls and on the screen the matches were placed on top of each other so Alex could see the difference.
"I see.." He also frowned. "Do you have any idea how this could occur?" Alex asked and Amhil shook her head.
"I don't know exactly, but there are-" Her words were lost when the ship shook and the ship's status changed to red alert.
"What now?!" Amhil yelled over the sirens, clearly annoyed. This definitely wasn't one of her easiest missions.

Nathans hands whizzed over the console. The phasers weree operating ta 100% but seemed to be having no effect on the enmy vessels.
"Commander! Phasers are proving useless in this situation. I recomend photons sir!" Nathan cried as the ship pitched again. "Sheilds down to 68.9% Sir!" Nathan added, yelling over the din of the alarms and wepaons fire.
"Proceed Mr. Harper. Use what ever force necessary to disable the hostile vessels, not destroy."
"Aye Sir! Torpedos locked." Nathan replied.
"Fire at Will!" Majeski ordered.
OFF: Sorry guys. I forgotto sign out then sign in as Nathan. Sorry If I have caused any confusion.

Alex peered over the Doctors shoulder as she pointed at the console.
"I see.." He also frowned. "Do you have any idea how this could occur?" Alex asked and Amhil shook her head but had a very thoughtful look on her face.
"Well, technically, such differences could occur over time if there was a stranded number of individuals isolated from interaction with other members of a species. Eventually, such a group would develop different DNA patterns, but that would take a very, very long time" Amhil concluded.
"These DNA base pairs here don't match with ours" Alex said, pointing at the monitor." So, whoever was in the probe was human, but with some genetic differences."
The doctor opened her mouth to answer when the ship shook violently and the red alert klaxon sounded. "What now?!" Amhil yelled over the sirens, clearly annoyed.
However, Alex and Ensign V'lar were already running out of the door. The Vulcan turned and ran towards here duty post, while Alex jumped onto the turbolift and headed to the bridge.
There were several more violent movements as Alex headed to the bridge. He quickly manned his station and activated the sensors. There were three Romulan ships in close proxmity.
"Commander Majeski, there are three Shrike class Romulan ships within range of the sensors. They are older, mid-sized warships with about 200 crew each. Armed with Type 7 forward mounted disruptors and standard torpedoes" Alex said calmly to the first officer. Majeski was standing over the tactical station for a first hand look at the situation.
Alex looked down at his console in time to see a volley of quantum torpedoes spew out of the Raven and home in on the closest attacking ship. The first two were fooled by enemy ECM and missed completely, but another 4 after that impacted against the shields of the first ship. Alex scanned the ship after it was hit and saw that it's forward shields were completely gone, theplasma relay systems had overloaded and there were heavy casualties aboard. That ship would not be able to function for several minutes. Majeski growled happily as he saw the results.
The Raven shook again as the remaining two ships strafed the lone vessel.

Nathan struggled to keep composure. He just wasnt used to this. He didnt have time to return fire in between the attacks from the ships and the sheilds were buckling.
"Commander. We have jost lost forward sheilds. Re-..." He was interupted by the computers voice.
=^= Warning Intruder Alert. Intruder alert! =^=
"Commander hostiles have just beamed onto the forward sections of decks 4 through 6." Nathan yelled. "I am sending security teams to intercept and I have manged to bring forward sheilds back online to 56%."
"Well done Ensign. Keep up the attack." Majeski replied. "Bridge to Sickbay. Standbye for casualties."
"Sickbay here. Aknowledged Commander" Amhil down in sickbay replied.
Nathan fired another volley of quantum torpedos which found their target. Another vessel erupted in a brilliant light.
"Yes!" he cried.

Weill rocked to one side, the ship had just gone up in light and he saw his young CTSO look very pleased, Weill felt the opposite, they had destroyed a ship, never a happy occasion.
Weill: "All stations report details on damage and all departments get wounded to sickbay"
Majeski: " You heard the Captain, details"
Weill: " < All senior staff meet in the observation lounge in 15 minutes >"
10 minutes later had walked into the ready room and had brushed some debris off of the table, he than sat o his chair which had a spike out of the back, he got back up and removed it.
Gradually the crew walked in, Majeski had a slight gash on his face
Weill: " I hope you have had the Doctor look at that"
Majeski: " She said she would have look when she came down"
Weill: " Good, now Tactical, how do we stand?"
Harper: " Well the ship is stable and we have a good defenciable position, phasers will be to 100% soon and both topedoes in about 2 hours"
Weill: "Good, Doctor, hows the crew......... oh and you Counsellor"
Lise: " Well we have one seriousley injured but no fatalities, the rest are mostley burns"
Isildur: " Well they are shaken but they are fine, they are strong and feel we won, which helps their morale"
Weill: " Thankyou, What about the state of the ship Dantrek? "
Dantrek: " Well we need some time for repairs but i am confident we shall be ready soon"
Weill: " Good we are not in such bad shape over all, well if you culd all work together to get us up to spec we can carry on"

Alex quietly sat in his chair during the briefing. He had been running some scans and checking databases after the battle had finished and was still trying to get the results clear in his head.
The Captain had glanced over at his Science officer several times during the briefing and could see the look of concentration on his face. A look that he had seen a number of times before. It ususally meant that Dixon was about to say something that would lead the Raven into some trouble.
Finally, Weill couldn't stand it any longer. "Mr. Dixon, does the Science department have something to report?"
Startled, Alex looked up. He wasn't that obvious, was he? "I'm not sure sir. I have been running some scans on the remains of the ships that attacked us and comparing them to listings for Romulan ships that we have in our databanks and we actually had listings for two of them. Those two ships participated in the war against the Dominion and were present during the fighting around Deep Space 9. They were both heavily damaged and listed as lost in battle. Yet here they are. I have been thinking that if that were an official Romulan attack, they wouldn't bother to use outdated vessels that were heavily damaged and then had to be rebuilt."
The room was silent as the Science officer described his findings. Ensign Hale was the first to speak up. "So you don't think that the attack was staged by the Romulans?"
Alex shook his head. "If they were going to attack us, they should have sent forces sufficient to finish us off. I think that it was a group that acquired those ships during the war, rebuilt them for some reason and sent them after us. Are there any prisoners that we can interrogate?" Alex asked hopefully.

"Yes" Harper said. Everyone in the room turned to him. He shifted uncomfortably. "We captured three Romulans out of the six that beamed over during the battle."
"I am not comfortable with interrogation. Weill said. "Perhaps just questioning might be suitable. Ensig Harper and Commander Dixon you will co - ordinate the questioning. Any other points to add?"
<TAG Anyone. Sorry about the short post.>
