Weill was pleased they had got the Romulans, at leats they might get somewhere than something stumbled in his mind and he though, of course we wont, Romulans very rarely give information away, like Vulcuns they have an extremley high tolerance level.
Weill: " Dixon, Harper, dont push to hard, he is a Romulan remember"
Dixon: " Sir"
Harper: " Yes sir"
Weill than turned around and looked at the padds on the table, they were detailing the ships status and he was thinking its not as bad as it looks.
He than walked back onto the bridge and found the ship at a slight tilt, the outside looked very wrong
Weill: " We are not the leaning tower of pizza, CONN get us level again"
Just as he spoke he got the Doctor on the intercom
Amhil: " < Captain some people have come in with space sickness, it appears that soemthing is disturbing the crew, maybe the fact we are not level > "
Weill: " Yes Doctor it could be that, i am dealing with it now, thankyou for your detail"
Cavit turned around looking slightly lost
Weill: " Cavit in my ready room"
Cavit: " yes sir"
As they walked in Weill was thinking about what he was going to say cavit stood in front of the desk and weill facing her
Weill: " Cavit, whats the matter with you, as a CNO you havnt been very good so far, i heard great things and you havnt been good, and certainly havnt lived up to them................... i mean how many CNOs make the ship go scew wiff"
Cavit: " I havnt been myself........... there have been problems with unit on earth"
Weill: " Well now isnt the tme to deal with it, but you will go and speak to the Counsellor.......... Dismissed"

Amhil walked over to the biobed and injected the woman sitting in front of her with a hypo. Amhil smiled and nodded. "An injection a day keeps space sickness away!" She said cheerfully. The woman looked at her with a quizzical expression on her face. Amhil's face fell and she sighed. "You try to be funny after 20 cases of space sickness." She said and turned to tend to several other people who were sitting or standing. They all looked a bit greenish and Amhil hoped that they would soon be level again, because this was getting annoying. She tapped her comm. badge. =/\= "Captain, 'some' people have come in with space sickness, it appears that something is disturbing the crew, maybe the fact we are not level?" =/\= Amhil said and tried to keep the annoyance out of her voice. =/\="Yes Doctor, it could be that. I am dealing with it now. Thank you for your detail."=/\= Was the reply and Amhil smiled. Indeed a few moments later the ship seemed normal again. After quickly treating the last people with space sickness, nobody else came in complaining anymore. Off: Sorry for the 'Voyager' reference, just couldn't resist

Alex and Nathan walked out of the conference room. Conduct questioning. Something else that he had never done. Alex hoped that Nathan had more experience with such things than he did.
Alex sat down at his station and Harper joined him. "So Mr. Harper, do you have any suggestions as to what we should be asking?"
The security officer nodded. "We should prepare a list of questions that we want answered and some that don't matter. We question each one individually and see what answers we get. When that's done, it should lead us to our next set of questions."
Alex nodded and the two officers started deciding on a list of questions they wanted answered.

Dan trudged back into Engineering hunched over. Couldn't they keep his ship unscathed for more than a day? Evidently not. He walked over to the Duty Engineer's Station.
Dan: Alright, whatd we got?
Joktel and Paria both looked up. They appeared to be in the same mood he was about the ship.
Jokte: We've got problems with targeting sensors, torpedo launchers, phaser banks, shield generators, the works. You name, its damaged.
Dan: I was afraid of that. Whats the biggest problem.
Paria: We've got damage on the Forward Dorsal phaser array. Its burned bad. ::she handed him a PADD describing the damage::
Dan: Doesn't look like we can repair it from here, either.
Joktel: No, sir. Its physical damage.
Dan: Well then, looks like we get to go for a little space walk.
They headed for an airlock on Deck 5. They reached it and got out the SEWGs. Paria looked around.
Paria: Hmm, standard-size. These dont look like they'll fit you, Dan.
Dan: They certainly won't.
Dan walked over to a console and brought up the equipment list. He selected his personal SEWG and beamed it into the room.
Dan: Thats better.
They pulled on the suits and headed out of the airlock. Dan looked around. Debris from the destroyed Romulans vessels were scattered over a few kilometers. As they walked along the Raven's hull, they saw the burn marks left by the Romulan weapons. Paria sighed.
Dan: Not too pretty, is it?
Paria: Definitely not.
Dan: Many years ago, when I held Command positions in my native fleet, I was very careful to avoid conflicts like this. Some saw me as weak, some called me a coward, but despite our tendency towards hostility, I sought to preserve life, rather than the overbearing tradition to end it. Thats why I prefer being an Engineer. My actions dont dictate these consequences, I just fix them.
They neared the damaged section of the phaser array.
Dan: But anyway, enough of that. We've got a job to do.

Alex and Nathan had been working in the Security office for several hours, coming up with questions for the interrogation when the intercom chimed. It was Ensign T'Val.
"Excuse me commander, we have results from the tests that you wanted. We successfully analzyed the DNA from the samples that were picked up during the medical examinations of our three prisoners. It turns out that we have files on one of them. This one..." a picture of one of the prisoners came up on the console "is is Lt. Selent. He was in the Romulan Marines during the Dominion war. He was wounded during the fighting for Valan 6 and treated aboard a Federation hospital ship. Selent was returned to active duty aboard the Baran, a Shrike class vessel that was listed as lost about 4 months later in Cardassian space."
Dixon and Harper looked at each other. Former Romulan Marine? How did someone like that end up here?
"Thank you Ensign. That was most helpful" Alex said.
"You're welcome, sir." the Vulcan said and closed the channel.

Former Romulan Marine? Romulans like that dont just turn up on he wrong side of the neutral zone.
With questions in hand Nathan and Dixon walked to where the prisoner was held. Nathan was nervous and that was shown by his sweaty palms.

Weill walked hasterly towards Dixon and Harpers location, he wanted to see how they were doing, he had heard that they had entered the brig interview area.
He went into the security area next to it and saw the two officers on one side of a room and the Romulan sitting on a stand, they were askign questions and he was greatly pleased to see they had been researching as many an interview had gone haywire due to being ill prepared. He remembered an interview he did in a simulation at the academy, mucking up questions showing weakness's. But here his officers had avoided that.
He than decided to go in an observe. Upon walking in the Romulan stood up sharply, the Starfleet officers walked towards him as if to give a brief status report.
Weill: " How are you doing?"
Dixon: " Not to bad to start with but he wont say much"
Harper: " I didnt realise how clambed up theses Romulans can be"
Weill: " I will just be observing"
Dixon: "Yes sir"
Weill walked over and leant against the wall, he pulled his hair back than just listened, closing his eyes to absorb information.
Romulan: " I wont answer any questions not asked by the senior officer"
Harper: " We are conducting this, not you"
Romulan: " I will not be treated like this by mere underlings"
Dixon: " We are senior bridge officers, we shall be senior enough"
Romulan: " No"
Weill: " Yes they will"
Romulan: " Who are you"
Weill: " Captain Gerome Butler, USS Trieste"
Romulan: " I wondered who you were, i didnt believe this was the what was it........... Raven............ that is a sovereign class"
Weill: " Yes we have some of there stores on but thats all.............. now i am going, you will answer the Commanders and Lt questions........ they are acting for me"
Weill moved over to Dixon and Harper
Weill: " Try and play along that this is a different ship, just in case any information gets t his command, it is obviousley flaud so they wont trust his data"

Majeski sat in his office he felt the dried blood on the side of his head *dammit he thought* He iddn't recall how it happend but he sat there going though his padds with a disgruntled look on his face,
the chime sounded at his quarters
"come"
The doors opended and revealed Strife Cavit she looked tired and the right side of her face would carry burn scars for the rest of her life
"yes commander can I help you?"
"sir I don't know if I can go on," She looked down at her feet then she threw aside rank and protocol "Listen ever since my father was killed , you daughter wich i had a relationship was killed , it's taking a toll"
Majeski sighed and set down a padd and sighed "Strife. , there a time where we all sometimes feel like we hit then end. I lived for over a thousand years and all the death i've seen among friends , family , think it hasn't done anything for me , wait till you get to my age , you never think the same again"
She looked at him with tears in her eye "Your daughter?...."
Majeski only nodded "it does hurt to think of her time to time but one day another will be born "
Stife looked at him withunblinking eyes "but..."
He put his hand on her shoulder "you have become a daughter to me and nothing can change that"
Strife let out a slight smile "thank you means a lot to me"
Majeski smiled "thats a good girl , now report to the bridge, it;s time you return to duty"
"sir to warn you I lost the sight in my right eye" Strife said
Majeski froze , this was never reported in Amhil's report , he didn't no if it was anger or horror
he didn't realize she was only focusing with him with one eye, *my god* he thought
right now her left eye glowed with firece pride m a woman of 27 years , she served under him for 3 years a a fighter pilot in the marines at a young age , he saw her fight hand to hand he knew she was fighter A mever ending spirit of the worriors he'd seen fight in his lifetime called the samurai, he fought them before formable oppenents , they gave the elves a rough time he was nearly killed in a skirmish with them if he hadn't of called a retreat with his men they would all been dead
"Report to the captian then" He said
"sir" she asked
He put a hand on her shoulder again "trust me it needs to be reported"
"Aye sir" she left without another word leaving Majeski with a empty feeling in his stomach

Dixon and Harper stood at the doorway to the interrogation room. Alex was feeling a little nervous. He had never questioned a Romulan before, and knew that they were both intelligent and closed-mouthed. It would be difficult to get any information out of him. He took a deep breath, looked down to see that all of his PADDs containing information regarding the health of the prisoner and results of the scans from the reamins of the enemy ships were in order and looked over at Harper. He was fiddling with his PADDs as well, and looked like he wanted to be anywhere besides here.
Alex closed his eyes and pictured the tranquil forests amd gentle breezes of his home, Caldor 4. It calmed him down a fair bit, and after a minute, he felt ready to go in. Looking over, Harper seemed to have gotten control of himself as well. He nodded and the two of them entered the room.
The Romulan was seated at the small table, looking at the two Starfleet officers with a smirk of contempt. Alex gestured at one of the chairs and the Ensign sat down. Alex continued to stand, his eyes boring into those of the Romulan. Alex took his seat as well.
"Before we start, is there anything that you require? Something to eat or drink?" Alex asked. The Romulan never moved. Alex glanced over at Harper and nodded imperceptibly.
"You were aboard one of three Romulan vessels that attacked the USS Trieste. That is a violation of the treaties between the Federation and Romulans. Is there anyone in your government that you wish to contact?" Harper inquired. The Romulan did not react. It was obvious that he was simply not going to say anything. Harper asked a few more questions about the ships that had been destroyed, but the Romulan continued in his stubborn silence.
Alex decided that some shock was required. Picking up one of his PADDs, he said "You are Lt. Selent. Member of the Romulan Marine Corp and last assigned to the Baran, which was lost in Cardassian space during the Dominion war. How did you survive to get here?" Selent's eyes snapped to Alex in the first reaction that he had given to the Starfleet officers.
"You will get nothing from me, human. And I will not be used as a pawn in any Federation tricks with my government" the Romulan rasped in reply.
Harper sat forward. "Why is that Selent? Is that because you are no longer a member of the Romulan military? I have reviewed our scans of your three ships. There were a large number of non-Romulan life forms aboard the ships. That is not like the Romulans at all. You are no longer with the Romulan military, are you?"
Selent's eyes fell to the table for a second as the Ensigns questions hit home. Alex thought that what Harper had just said was very accurate. He opened his mouth and his voice took on an insinuating tone. "Selent, I can understand why you think your government won't do anything for you. You have been declared dead, and with the information that we can provide them, I don't think that your life will be very comfortable if you return to the empire. Tell us what you were doing on those ships and we can help you."
Selent looked up, and Alex could see some emotion in his eye, but the Romulan quickly recovered himself and stared at his questioners with a cold determination. Alex looked over at Harper to see if he had any other ideas.

Weill left the bridge and walked into his ready room, he had got a call from Majeski askign him to meet Commander Cavit there, he sat down, perplexed as to what it could be that woulkd be the Commander up here by anything other than a Captains request. leaning back in his high backed chair he pondered it, at that second a chime reeled from his desk, it was not from the door but from the computer, he had recivied a message from the diplomatic centre on earth.
From: Ambassador Deneki Via Lt Commander Malone To: Captain Gus Weill, USS Raven Subject: CLASSIFIED
Than the face of a Lt Commander appeared.
Weill: " Commander Malone i take it?"
Malone: " Yes sir, this is Classified so it musnt go beyond us, your crew must not know as it is on a level they wouldnt understand."
Weill: " What sort of level are you talking of Commander?, "
Malone: " It could have implications which could lead to war between us and the Romulan Star Empire and maybe even their new allies"
Weill: " I see, i take it has something to do with the USS Ravens current mission and the guest we currently have"
Malone: " Yes Captain it most certainly does, we want you to release him and apologise to him on record in front of a Romulan Ambassador"
Weill: " I cant do that"
Malone: " You must its an order Captain"
Weill: " Perhaps we Starship Captains o the spot actually have something you don't understand......... for once maybe we have.......... the Romulan is holidng data which is crucial to our mission"
Malone: " Our orders override your current mission"
Weill: " I think......."
CHIME
Weill: "< Commander Cavit, i will be with you in a moment>"
Weill than looked back at his desk.
Weill: " As i was saying Commander, this mission cannot be overidden, i have orders which have to be filed and i believe there is far more depth and more of a connection to the Romulan high Commander than either of us thinks."
Malone: " I will forwards you message to the Brass Captain but i do not think that they will be very happy with a Captain which went against their orders, just to prove a hunch"
Weill: " That is enough Lt Commander......... Weil OUT"
Weill than turned and faced back towards the door he tidied himself up and removed the annoyed face which had come over himself, just as he was about to talk to ask Commander Cavit to make her way into hos office the Chime on his Computer went off again, this time it was
From: Ambassador Deneki and Admiral Hallis To: Captain Gus Weill, USS Raven Subject: " CLASSIFIED"
Weill realised what the commnique was about, that Commander had gone back to thoses further up,
Weill: "< Commander Cavit, would you go to your station, i will call you in shortly>"
Weill than turned his head to the Computer panel and got ready to address to from the top, especially they were in the areas of Romulans affairs.
The faces of the two people appeared, the Admiral looked quite old, with grey thin hair and a stern fac with thickened skin around the nose which must mean he wore glasses, the Ambassador had a bland face with no emotion on it, no sign of life on it,
Weill: " Admiral, Ambassador?"
Hallis: " How dare you disobey roders from me transmitted to you by one of my staff, it does not bode wel for you, when senior officers find themselves being ignored, it doesnt bode well at all.......... well what do you have to say to yourself"
Weill: " Sir, there is a connection and i will not hand back the Romulan until i have it"
Hallis: " YOU!!!!"
Deseki: " Calm down Admiral, let me try......... now Captain as you may know i was the co signey on the communique from Lt Commander Malone"
Weill: " Yes Ambassador"
Deseki: " Well i know of you to, i have heard you are quite adept at dealing with Romulans, as you come in contact with them due to your placing within Section 47"
Weill: " This is true"
Suddenly the face of the Ambassador changed to a mooroon colour
Deseki: "Well Captain it is my job and i will not have you put my plans in jepody for a hobbie as i can assure you, i have delt with more Romulans than you have had hot dinners"
Weill: " I am keeping the Romulan until further notice"
Hallis: " We can say no more, i am ordering you to return home"
Weill: " Yes sir......... but our warp drive has bee slightly destaberlized and it would be less than safe to try and cross such a distance"
Hallis: " Dont try this with me............ ok than, i will meet you in your system.............. Hallis out"
Weill leant back cooled down than
Weill: "< All senior Staff report to the Captains ready room Now"
Soon enough the Senior staff were dotted about the medium sized room, Weill had never understood why such a small ship had such a large ready room where the Galaxys was much smaller, than he refocused his attention on the job at hand.
Weill: "Sorry to call you in at sucha time, but time is of the essensense, to brief you, we have been ordered to retun the Romulan to the Romulans and make a public apology by Admiral Hallis, i refused, he than ordered us to return i am afraid Commander Dantrek i said your engines were not working, now i say to any officer who wants to, that they may leave and not get tangled up in this unofficial and slightly illgal plan, as it will cause a significant amount of unrest and could mean at least me losing my job not you as you will be folowing my orders, but i wisll talle you the situation first, firstly, that Romulan knows soemthing either about the Admiral and Ambassador, or the a very stroing connection to the current mission, it could be a metter of a trator Admiral and Ambassador, and i believe it is this, i have to say we relinquish any pretext of this missiona nd find out if this is true, as it is connected to the current mission"
Weill: "please say if you wish to go"
There were not hands that actually asked to go, Weill was not doubted and he starigntened up and
Weill: " Thankyou, now as i said we dont have a lot of time the Admiral and Abassador are on route, Commander Majeski i want you to head an investigation with Commander Dantrek and Doctor with Counsellor i think we will need you guideance on this task into the Admiral and Ambassador and find connections to the current mission"
Majeski: " Yes sir, right away"
Dantrek: " Sir i will disconnect the engines"
Weill: " Excellent idea, no damage but excellent effect"
They walked out to deal with the task
Weill: " Others i want you to deal with the Romulan, we must find out what he has done, and co-ordinate with the other team to make connnections"
Weill leant back and realised that he could lose his job over this one, maybe he had gone to far..... once all had left he remembered something
Weill: "< All senior staff, use the Observation lounge as a centre, all data and evidence to be place so we can make connections,a dna lso limit was you say to your staff"
Weill checked the Starbase manifest and the Amdiral hadnt left yet, it would take him 11 hours to get here, Weill thought 13 as a minimum, the ship was USS Hollow, Excelsior class, typical Admirals Flagship"
Weill asked the Computer to Connect him to a Commander at Starbase Varesz
Weill: " Ah Commander i need a favour if you can, it is urgent"
Williams: " Yes Captain, i owe you a favour, a big favour"
Weill: " I wil send details later but the Hollow is due to leave can you halt them ona technicality or at least keep them there for one hour?"
Williams: " No problem"
Weill: " Its an Admirals Flagship?"
Williams: " Well more to keep them on, i will use security"
Weill: " Thankyou Commander and i will fill you in later"
Weill felt so much better as he realised he now had the time and that the Admiral wouldnt be bearing down on him so soon. He decided to help with the effort and he than walked out and saw Alex Dixon and Nathan Harper walking towards the turbolift.
Harper: " We are just going to start the interviews again"
Weill: " Good good, i will start to find data and once we having something i will send it down to you"
Dixon: "Thankyou sir"
Weill walked to the science station and started collecting data, it was about 20 minutes before he found soemthing of interest, the Admiral and Ambassador first met on Romulas more than 30 years earlier, they were on a team together, it was there that the Ambassador married the daughter of the Romulan Vice Counsul, Weill was overjoyed to find this connection,
Weill: " HA, Commander Majeski, got soemthing, take a look at that, and i shall take it down to the interview team, hopefully it may yield some information"
Weill walked briskly and he was pleased that he had now found the main thread connection, he walked into the interview, there was a screen so the Romulan couldnt see the person walking in. Commander Dixon walked in.
Weill: " Take a look at this, i am SURE it will yield something"
Dixon: " Yes............. dear dear what a connection this must give us soemthing, i will report back ASAP with the information"
Weill: " thankyou Commander, i will be in the observation lounge"

Dan and his team were most of the way through repairing the phaser array.
Weill: =/\= All Senior Staff to the Captains Ready Room Now =/\=
Dan: Does he have any idea where I am? I guess not, since he sounds serious, and busy. Can you two finish here?
Joktel: I think we can.
Dan: Good. See you back in Engineering when you're done.
Joktel: Aye, sir.
Dan headed for the airlock and quickly removed the SEWG suit. He got to Deck 1 as quick as possible.
----------------------A little while later----------------------------------
Dan headed out of the Ready Room, wondering how Joktel and Paria would react when he gave the orders he was planning. It would certainly raise eyebrows.
Dan walked back into Engineering. Joktel and Paria were back. He headed over to them.
Dan: Done I see.
Paria: Just barely. We only got back a few minutes ago.
Dan: Understandable. Is it repaired?
Joktel: Yes, sir. Computer analysis confirms it.
Dan: Good, because I have another assignment for you. I want to vent the plasma from the nacelles, and then seal and lock down the Plasma Transfer Conduits. Next, I want you to deactivate and lock-up the Impulse Reactors.
They both looked at him with wide-eyed shock. They couldnt believe what they were hearing.
Joktel: Sir? Is there a reason why you want us dead in the water?
Dan: Yes, the Captain doesn't want us to be able to go anywhere. He's chosen to disobey orders, and wants to prevent us being to go anywhere.
Paria: Does the Senior Staff agree with this?
Dan: We all do, unanimously.
Joktel: Then we won't disobey.
Dan: Good. Get started on it. I've got to meet Commander Majeski.
Joktel: Aye, sir.
Dan headed out of Engineering.

Weill had the adrenalin of a case running through his body, when he was talking to the Commander............. Malone he felt as if he was stuck and could not find a way out, he felt isolated, as if he couldnโt do his job, a feeling he hadnโt felt before while being in Command, at most instances there was something he could do but this time there was little until he took the plunge disregarded a direct order and found the one important connection, he now had his staff trying to make more connections. He felt the Admirals tenure may come to an end, but at present that was not certain.
Later, Weill was standing in front of the board in the observation lounge, it had three main pictures, The Admiral, the ambassador and than the Romulan. It had link which when touched brought up explanations and at the press of one button all the explanations were linked and the board doubled in size.
Soon more data arrived on a sheet and a junior officer fed it into the computer, Weill noticed the officer was going to great pains not to look at the work.
Officer: โ Sir there is a message for you in your ready room, from Admiral Hallisโ
Weill: โ Thank you Ensignโ
Weill walked briskly to the console in his ready room, it was coded but Weill decided to record it. Soon after putting the screen on that if Admiral Hallis appeared, his face had tightened and he had large bags under his eyes, he looked very distressed but as soon as the panel went on he tried to hide it.
Weill: โ What can I do for you Admiral? โ
Hallis: โ Captain, I have been delayed, it appears my security was insufficient and I was stopped on Starfleet orders, you didnโt have anything to do with this did you?โ
Weill: โ How could I Admiral, we are away from Starbase and what is more I am only a Captain, I donโt have the authority to detain an Admiralโ
Hallis: โ Ok Captain, this was just to inform you we will be delayed by about 3 hours as we have to make a rendezvous with another federation vesselโ
Weill: โ We will be awaiting you Admiral, do you wish to stay on the Raven during the visit?โ
Hallis: โYes I think that would be wiseโ
The screen closed and Weil lent back, he was really beginning to dislike this elderly Admiral, but than realised if he was wrong than he would be far older by the time he came out of the detention colony. He walked back out onto the bridge.
He saw Commander Cavit at the front of the bridge, he than remembered he was due to speak to her, he felt he had wronged her so he quickly called in her in
Weill: โCommander Cavit, my ready room pleaseโ
She walked in and sat down
Cavit: โ Thankyou captainโ
Weill: โ Sorry about this delay we have been overtaken by events, please continue Commander Cavit?โ

With a sense of urgency, Alex and Nathan returned to the interview room. It seemed more important than it had been before to wring some information out of the close mouthed Romulan Selent.
Harper stopped Alex as they were about to head into the room. "What are we going to say to him?" he asked.
"I'm not sure. We have to dig out some connection between him, the Admiral and the Ambassador. Perhaps we can use the fact that he is coming to scare some information out of him."
Nodding,Harper and Dixon headed into the interrogation room.

Amhil was working on her new assignment. Finding connections between the Admiral and ambassador and what they had to do with their current mission. Though that was the main point, Amhil was still very interested in the DNA analyses from whoever had been in the probe. He or she had not been entirely human, but it hadn't been an alien either.
Like Amhil had told Alex, this could have occurred with a group of people who had been isolated from rest of humanity. But that would have taken a very very long time. And Alex had pointed out that there were a number of DNA base pairs that didn't match theirs. So it had been a human, but with some genetic differences. This had caused Amhil to study the DNA sample again, because there was of course another possibility than isolation that could have caused these differences... But she wasn't entirely sure.
She decided to look into the new information that the Captain had found. The Admiral and Ambassador had first met on Romulas about 30 years ago. Thought this part said nothing, it was the second part that Amhil found most interesting. They were on a team together.
'A team doing what?' Amhil thought and accessed the information on the console she was working at. All kinds of data appeared on the small screen, but not really anything of interest. Until she saw the name 'Gemini'. It appeared the team had been working on a project called Gemini.
"Gemini...Gemini...I heard that before.." Amhil mused, and suddenly it hit her. Gemini was the name of the star sign 'Twins'. This realization brought her back to the DNA pattern of the human who had been in the probe. She tried to access the information on the Project. But it seemed to be classified, the only thing that appeared was a small explanation.
"Genetic research."
Amhil stared at the screen. Could it be that her guess was right? That this had all something to do with genetic enhancement? She really hoped not. That would mean...No, she couldn't even begin to think what it would mean. Though the only way she could be certain about it was to examine the human who had actually been in the probe. She had to inform the other about this.

Nathan was nervous. Which he would never freely admit too. Interviewing was one thing but interogation was another thing all together and answers were not coming from the Romulan freely. Perhaps Dixon was rights. The only way to get anything out of this Romulan was to scare him, nothing physical but they just had to make him believe that Harper and Dixon were capable of anything...

Dan went to the Observation Lounge. Since an Engineering Office wasn't the best place for research of this type, and since all the data would be flowing to the Observation Lounge, he chose to work there.
He looked at all the data displayed that had already been found. He saw the information on the project 30 years ago. Could the Romulan currently onboard have been involved?
Dan: =/\= Trek to Dixon =/\=
Dixon: =/\= Dixon here. Go ahead, Commander =/\=
Dan: =/\= Alex, see if you can determine the age of the Romulan you're questioning. Particularly if hes significantly older than 30. Let me know when you know his age =/\=
Dixon =/\= Standby =/\=
Dan looked over the information available while he waited.
Dixon: =/\= Our subject is 37, Commander. Does that tell us anything important? =/\=
Dan: =/\= I don't know. I'll let you know. Trek out =/\=
37. That put him as a small child when the project. It was genetic research. Could he have been a subject? Dan didn't have anyway to confirm it, but he couldn't ignore what he know. He added a piece to the rest:
Romulan being questioned was a small child at the time of the Gemini project.

Weill had heard the communications from the different departments and the pieces of the puzzle were fitting together.
If the Romulan had been part of the genetic research project, run by the Romulans and the two senior federation personnel, it could mean stronger plans. As the Romulans were not known for their stupid behavior and were not exactly naive. So perhaps they were planning to use theses ultra intelligent Romulans for soemthing, maybe against the Federation............ or Klingons. Or maybe even just as spies.
Than it clicked, the interrogation team wont get much as he has been engineered most likley to hold out againts intense questioning.
Weill lept up from his desk and walked briskly to the Doctors office, he found her deep i research.
Amhil: " Captain?"
Weill: " Yes, sorry to barge in Doctor but i think i have pieced together why we havnt got anywhere with the interrogations"
Amhil: " Sir?"
Weill: " Well would it be possible for them to be enhanced not only in the conventional ways but in stability, s they wouldnt give out data, as the Romulans do not like interrogations on their own, thats the only way their supposed enermies can get data"
Amhil: " You know Captain, this could be right, but it could also mean they have enhanced tactical abilitys"
Weill: " Lets go"
The two officers walked out of the office towards the turbolift to go to the brig
Weill: " This remind me of the tale of a genetically modiefied person on the USS Enterprise D, they came across a man who it took a large very strong officer and a Klingon to deal with and he was still near winning"
Amhil: " Yes, i have read about that, we better tell the security room"
Weill: " I dont want to alarm the Romulan as it could lea to him making a strike"
They walked in and found the two interrogation officers
Weill: " Would you come out please"
Dixon & Harper: " Yes sir"
Weill: " secure the room, we think he may be tatically modified, so Ensign i would advise you get a lot more security staff out, just in case and have more when interrogating him, a forcefield around him etc"
Harper: " I will deal with that now"
Dixon: " We cant have a lot of time though sir, we must hurry"
Weill: " Your right"

Majeski was heading back to the bridge with a bowl of oatmeal in his hand when out of the corner he saw a shadow pass by, he stopped in mid bite and looked up
"huh?" He said to no one in perticular
He shrugged and though it was nothing but a cew member passign by , he made his way up tothe bridge and looked to find the only senior offer present was Cavit who sat at the helm with a glazed look in her eyes.
He relived the young liuetenant who was sitting in the command chair and sat down no sooner than he did he felt a shudder rip though the ship
"What on earth" Majeski looked at the oops officer , "report"
The ops officer looked at him blankly "sir?"
"Report" Majeski said "I asked for it now you give it"
"Whoa there was a small explosion in the secondary brig" He said
And eyebrow rose and majeski literally leaped out of his seat "Directly underneath the main brig ? "
"Yes sir"
:Majeski to Weill is every thing alright down there"

Dan went back to Engineering for a moment to see how things were going. He felt a tremor ripple through the ship.
Dan: Somebody tell me what that was.
Crewman: An explosion in the secondary brig. It appears an EPS conduit overloaded.
Dan: Did that affect the main brig?
Crewman: Yes, sir. The Deckplate in the main brig ruptured as well.
Dan: Alright. Damage Control Team Alpha, lets go!
Dan headed out of Engineering with the Damage Control Team behind him. These 5 technicians were designated Team Alpha because they were the best on the ship. Once they were in the turbolift, he turned to the Team Leader, Crewman Jarez.
Dan: Any preliminary indication of what caused the overload?
Jarez: It wasn't caused by anything internal. The EPS system was working fine. Could have been generated by a device somewhere.
Dan: Hmm.
They stepped out of the turbolift. They walked up to the Security Office.
Computer: =/\= Access to this area is restricted. Security clearance required =/\=
Dan: Engineering override, Authorization Trek Alpha Nine Black.
Computer: =/\= Clearance verified =/\=
They entered, and proceeded to the secondary brig. Dan was able to see up into the Main Brig through a 2-meter-wide hole in the decking.

Alex shook his head as he pushed himself up from the deck. Doing that only made things worse, and didn't decrease the ringing in his ears at all. He looked around. The room was in chaos, with the bodies of several crew members scattered about. He first looked for the Captain and saw his crumpled form against a bulkhead on the far side of the security room. Alex dragged himself over, ignoring a sharp pain from his right leg. Weill was moaning quietly, but seemed to be unconscious. He had a nasty looking scalp wound that was bleeding profusely. Alex tore off the arm of his uniform and pressed it against the wound.
The pain of that action seemed to revive the captain and he opened his eyes. He appeared to say something, but Alex couldn't hear anything at the moment. Dazed, Alex looked back at his leg and saw that there was a large piece of debris stuck into the back, with a trickle of blood darkening his uniform. Looking back led Alex to view the room. It was a shambles, with the main windows to the interrogation room blown out. However, that seemed to be the majority of the damage to the room. Most of the remainder was furniture that had been blown about by the explosion. Ensign Harper and Dr. Amhil were both also slowly getting to their feet. The doctor quickly made her way over to a crewman that seemed to be quite badly injured. Harper came over and said something, but Alex still couldn't hear.
The captain pulled himself to his feet and offered his hand to Alex, who took it and stood up. Harper and Weill supported him as the three of them made their way over to what was left of the interrogation room and looked in. Alex could see Commander Trek looking up at them through a 2 meter hole in the floor.

Nathans ears were ringing and when he walked over to the large gap in the floor of the brig he couldnt help but mutter a small gasp.
Nathan made a mental note that when the Raven was next in dry dock they would have to move the secondary brig from benath the main brig. He sighed as he looked down at Commander Dan Trek who was looking up from the secondary brig below.
Nathan tapped his comm badge.
=^= Security get down here immediately! I want officers on all decks guarding bothe essential and non essential systems. Keep two officers on the bridge at all times. Harper out! =^=
Nathan walked over to the Captain and enquired how he was doing.
"Ive been better Ensign" Was the reply.
"Alex! Are you ok?" Nathan asked.
"Ill survive" He grunted.
"Orders Captain?" Nathan asked.

Weill: " Well first get that Romulan back!!!"
Harper: " Yes Sir"
Harper ran off in the other direction, he had security personnel with him, Weill brushed off the mess from his jacket and pressed his comm badge with a feeling of loss, he had thought something like this could have happened............. but not this soon, or this strong, the damage was quite extreme.
Weill: "< Commander Dantrek...... Could you please do your best to get the damage repaired ASAP, and please make sure you investigation details are finalised so i can collate them wth the others>"
Dantrek: " <Yes Captain, the damage is quite extreme, i shall have the report sent to you>"
Weill: "< Very good>"
Weill than walked to the scene of the damage and it was quite amazing, there was a great hole where .............. he just couldnt believe the damage and waked out, he than got a call, that the Admirals Flagship would be closing soon, this made Weill shiver, he could find himself being arrested and court marsheled he needed data against the Admiral and Ambassador.
He walked into the observation lounge and asaw the details, there was an Ensign dealing with the information.
Weill: " Ensign is there enough?"
Ensign: " Enough for what sir?"
Weill: " Enough to..."
Ensign: "Oh sir...... sorry..... i am afraid not, we need some hard modern evidence"
Weill: " I hope we get it soon, for all our sakes........ or rather for mine"
Weill walked onto the bridge and he was getting nervous about the Admira than the Ensign ran out and he was smiling, Weill didnt need an explanation, he knew that it was good news and he also knew what about.
Weill: " In my ready room Ensign"
They walked in and the Ensign started to explain
Ensign: " Sir, the Admiral and Ambassador were part of a team on Romulas 30 years ago, they were involved in advacning the Romulans abilities and they went for what they called prime age candidates, who came from the right birth and were acceptable............. meaning they were expendable"
Weill: " I see........... and let me guess, the Romulan who escaped was one"
Ensign: " Yes Sir, i have a theory that he has escpaed and wait for the Ambassadors help"
Weill: " Good theory but evidence?"
Ensign: " Well sir the Romulan escaped as soon as he heard that the Romulan was coming"
Weill: " Ok, we shall now be ready for the Admiral"

Amhil was in sickbay helping those who got wounded in the explosion. The damage was unbelievable and they hadn't found the romulan yet. She wondered where the Captain had run of too, because when she had last seen him, he had a nasty gash on his forehead and she really thought he should pay a visit to Sickbay.
Amhil had gotten nothing but the wind knocked out of her in the brig. But Alex, who had been far nearer to the explosion, had had some glass and pieces of debris stuck in the back of his leg. She had removed it, of course, but a far more annoying problem seemed to be with his hearing, or lack of far that matter. Though Amhil was sure that it wouldn't be a lasting effect of the explosion, it was really difficult and Amhil had tried to tell him that going back to duty was not an option for the time being.
The Sickbay doors swished open, and Harper came in. He looked around and saw Amhil standing over one of the crewmembers. He walked over to her.
"Doctor, we are having difficulty locating the Romulan. Every time he appears on our tricorders or scanners he vanishes again, leaving no trail. Iยดve heard you managed to get scans of his DNA before he escaped, may I take a look at them?" He asked and Amhil nodded.
"Of course! Good idea, we can take his genetic difference to locate him on the ship." She quickly walked towards one of the consoles and called up the data. Nathan looked over her shoulder, nodded approvingly and grabbed his scanner.
"Thanks, Doc. This is really helpful!" He said, and Amhil smiled. He turned and left, while Amhil walked back to the biobed. Suddenly she noticed the empty biobed on her right side. She whirled around and was just in time when she saw Alex walking towards the door.
"Oh no you don't!" She said, and grabbed him by his sleeve. He looked at her with raised eyebrows and Amhil glared.
"WHAT?" He yelled, and Amhil winced. She led him back to the biobed and walked away, leaving a confused Alex. A few seconds later she returned with a data padd and put it in his hands. He quickly read it.
' Sorry Commander. You are staying here until your hearing returns. '
"BUT..." He stopped when he saw her wince again, and decided that speaking softer was the best choice. "What about the Romulan?" He definitely sounded weirder than normal, but it was only because he couldn't hear himself speak. She picked up the padd and added something under the first sentence.
' -Is being taken care of by Harper. If you want to do something, maybe you could help me with a little research on the Admirals background. We need to get clear evidence that he was involved with the Gemini project'

Alex read what was on Amhil's PADD and nodded reluctantly. He really wanted to head to the bridge to help out with the search for the Romulan, but the doctor was right. Harper was the right person for the job.
Under the watchful eye of the medical staff, Alex limped over to the nearest console and sat down carefully, so as not to injure his leg any more and accessed the research the doctor had done so far on the Gemini project. She had managed to dig out a fair bit, but no direct link between the Admiral, the Ambassador and the Romulan.
Alex spent some time reviewing the information that they had on Ambassador Deneki and Admiral Hallis. They seemed to be very different people. The Ambassador was older then the Admiral. They hadn't been born on the same planet, hadn't attended Starfleet together or had any similar postings except for the Gemini project, yet they clearly had some kind of a relationship.
Alex took another look at the bios and something caught his eye. The Ambassador had held a teaching post at the Academy for two years, well before he had been an ambassador. Alex checked that against the Admiral's record. Hallis had been attending the Academy at that time. Interesting. Deneki had taught a diplomacy course which the Admiral, a cadet at that time, had attended. The Admiral had gotten very high marks from the Ambassador.
Alex decided to do some more checking into the background of the Ambassador. He had done his schooling on Shankill 4. Something about Shankill 4 stirred Alex's memory. Alex accessed a history of the planet. It wasn't a member of the Federation. It had applied for membership, but had been turned down because of improper medical practices. Alex checked the reference on that. It seemed that the planet had some very severe environmental challenges, including severe weather and vicious indigenous species. The inhabitants, human colonists, had taken to genetic modification to help them survive.
Alex was surprised. Humans doing genetic modification on each other was very unusual, but would explain a few things about the Ambassador.
And the Admiral, an impressionable cadet, had been taught byt the Ambassador at the Academy. A mentor and his pupil.
Alex packaged up his findings and sent them to the captain and doctor.

Weill read the informative details that Commander Dixo had sent, He felt pleased that he had got the proof but suddenly e checked himself and realised how sad this really was, two distinguished Federation personnel are going to be hung out to dry because of their early mistakes. Weill thought with a serious tone that this was a sad day for Starfleet and the Diplomatic service and for the Federation as a whole.
Cavit: " Captain Weill, the Admirals ship is coming along side"
Weill: " Good, thankyou on my way, please get a security team down there and ask Commander Majeski to join them, tel the Admirals staff we shall signal when ready for them to arrive"
Cavit: " Very good sir"
Weill got up and walked quickly to the transporter room, he was met my Cavit, Majeski and a decent sized security team.
Majeski: " A sad day indeed sir"
Weill: " Indeed Commander, please when we have got them take them to the observation lounge"
Majeski: " Very good sir"
Weill: " Well prepare yourselves security and Commander Cavit........... i hope we are right......... Energize"
The Admiral and Ambassador fizzled onto the transporter with his Attache and than he pressed his badge to get them to beam him back
Hallis: " Beam me back"
Weill: " Block that signal.... bridge shields up"
Hallis: " Captain how dare you, whats the meaning of this outrage, your career is at an end"
Deneki :" Yes Captain, i am immune to your attempts"
Weill: " Enough gentleman, take them away, i shall be down shortly"
The senior officers were removed and Weill could breath out for the first time, he suddenly felt better, as if a weight had been removed from his shoulders........... than............
Cavit: " Sir, we have 3 Admiras trying to communicate with you"
Weill: " On my way"
Weill made his way to his read room, he than sat behind his desk and got ready to speak to the most senior Admiral, the old Academy Commandant. The ladys face appeared.
Weill: " Admiral, i can guess what your communication is about"
Darrell: " Yes i bet you can, Now Gus what is all this about, i have been asked as a senior who knows you to tell you to back off, dont forget you still are relativley new to Command"
Weill: " I know sir, but please i need this i can get it, i know this is true, i shall get this tied up"
Darrell: " You better, Admiral Hallis has many supporters among my contemperies, and Ambassador Deneki has the ear of the Vulcan Ambassador and the Federation Presdident, you may find yourself in trouble in this one........... but i shall support you while i can"
Weill: " I know and thankyou Admiral"
Darrell: " Well good luck Captain..... Darrell out"
Weill realised this was the possible end for him, so he decided to go one sep further while he still could..
Weill: " <Commander Dantrek, could you lock down the communication system i think it needs and overhall>"
Dantrek: " <Yes sir>"
Weill: " < Dr could you mweet me in the observation lounge could you bring your data and when Dixon is ready coud you ask him to come along>"
Amhil: " < Of course sir on my way>"
Weill got up and made his way to the Observation lounge
