Torek: I want minimum presence from your Marines Colonel .. Thats an order .. They are not to interfere with Commander McLean's teams, and will only place the minimum or constrictions on the people beaming in from the Challenger who will be assisting the Engineers .. I am requesting Commodore Sonak ask Larok to do likewise."
Traks: Yes sir but I find it fascinating that people can be so short sighted. Larok has several unusual Marines that some that the Crew of the Challenger might find unsettling. How do you think they would react to Privet Selis he is a Gorn. Also they have a Female Klingon , a Betazoid, a half Human half Trill and a Zakdorn. Have you ever meat a seven foot tall Rock. Larok has these officers in armor with mirrored visors and except for moving from their areas they are stationed inside the the battle bridges for their secondary and ternary sections. As for the Raven I have assigned our different species to Fighter matiance, simulator practice, and armory details. Oh by the way you might want to ask the Commodore to borrow Larok as he spent 75 years or so as a Engineer on a ship only about 50 years newer than the Challenger. So if you wish for me to change my procedures and let our Telarite, Trill and Klingon Marines roam and mingle with the Challengers crew just say the word.

[limegreen] Not much later they arrived at astrometrics. Fox immediately walked to a console, pressing a few buttons on it. Immediately a chart appeared on the huge screen in the room. "As you can see we're still charting this area." [/limegreen]
“Interesting amount of space, as we can see by the star and nebula configurations the Andromeda galaxy is quite big and vast, and still left to be explored, kind of the obvious stated, but we can note key examples by the astrometrics data that new star systems might open up to us.” Duke noted.
“Ive found along our travels on the challenger, that with our database we have picked up crucial information about new star systems, but there are new ones left to be explored. Your astrometrics room is quite interesting and I find it something not found on that of a earth vessel such as the challenger, we only had our terminals displaying information about key star systems and where to head to, and ploting course distances. But it has also been determined by both our captains that your ship and the ship that has come through the temporal wake is from another time and far advanced than that of our own technology, so I have to keep that in mind.” Duke suggested as by walking by fox noting things about the astrometrics room.
“What can you tell me about the systems explored in your time if you have been to them, not mentioning them, clearly based on your own ruling system, do they have set up principles like that of the federation and form alliances and have wars from time to time.” Duke replied.
Walking over to the terminal and reading the telemetry data, it appeared that new stars were beginning to take place and form on the view screen, and not long after, nebula took shape. “So fox, it appears we are in some kind of galaxy beginning here, the data suggests that the star systems and nebula formations are just taking shape as we had arrived, if I had read the scans correctly” duke replied leaning over looking at fox

=/\=Halthor to Sonak, Im heading to the USS Raven to ensure a safe and quick development as challenger undergoes repairs and see if there chief engineer can help us with some engineering knowledge needed back on Vesuvius so that I may be able to get the Vesuvius afloat. I wont be too long, if you would make sure that the crew are notified and the appropriate areas are allocated I would gladly appreciate your hospitality, and be back when I get back on the Vesuvius, it shouldn’t be too long. Halthor, out.=/\=
As Halthor chimed his communicator badge he walked out his quarters, on the bridge and made his way to the teleported room. Arriving he found the teleporter officer ready to beam the andorian onto the Raven, as he nodded, Halthor walked onto the surrounding teleporter area, stood in his spot, then gave the signal, then he flashed before his eyes at amazing speed.
“Welcome aboard Commander Halthor, all medical and physical data checks out fine, you can proceed off the transporter.” the raven transporter officer nodded as Halthor walked off the teleporter area, made his way out the door, looked at the wall terminal and gave himself a few seconds to analyse the deck schematics. “I need to get to engineering” as the andorian commander noted a eager ensign approached the commander and offered him some information. “Commander, Engineering two deck below, you wont miss it.” as the ensign replied Halthor shook the ensigns hand in agreement and took off.
As Vander proceeded through the turbo lift and down he went he took a moment to breath and relax for the brief second he was there, after that, the doors opened and he walked out realizing he had reached his destination. “Alright, Now its gotta be one of these rooms” as halthor walked out the turbo lift and through the raven almost aimlessly, he found engineering. Entering he found a huge warp coil and Commander McLean. Walking up to the Commander he nodded to him and gave him the terminal with the ship data report. “So you can see how bad the Vesuvius is in right now Commander, as well as your ship were going to need some pretty extensive repairs all across the ship, what can I do to help?”

For a second, Traks thought of taking the issue to the Admiral, but decided against it. He'd minimize his mens' presence, but would in no way relax his monitoring of the 'visitors' to the Raven. He wasn't used to being interrupted, nor did he believe in keeping quiet when he had a point to make, regardless of the rank, or position of the person in question.
"Yes Sir ... But I find it fascinating that people can be so short sighted. Larok has several unusual Marines that some that the Crew of the Challenger might find unsettling ......"
Carl remained silent throughout the Colonel's retort, noticing in his peripheral vision, that everyone on the Bridge had suddenly become busy ... Once Traks had finished, Carl started to lift his finger, intending to make his point stick, but realized that the Colonel had made several valid points.
" ...... You have acted totally correctly Colonel. I agree with you're reasoning, but just do me the favor of keeping those invisible Marines just that .. Invisible .. We're not the Vesuvius, and with all due respect to her Commanding Officer, we don't work that way. Thank you Colonel .. Dismissed." Torek finished.
Nodding, Traks headed for the lift once again, he had some revisions to make ..........

* Traks left the bridge glad he had gotten someone to listen to his points. Also he knew he had pushed his luck with the Xo. All he could hope was the Xo understood what he was trying to get across. Entering his office he beaconed for his 1st Sergent to follow him.*
Boxer: You wanted to see me sir?
Traks: Yes Gunny; we need to make some changes in the security procedures. Lets keep our people out of sight and go to type one phasers and backup cricket phasers. Store the armor except for Sgt Klueg and Cpl Grank keep them on alert in-case security needs help. Have everyone else return to normal training. The Challenger crew need to be kept as insulated from further technology but remember they are not the enemy. We are their children so to speak.
Boxer: Aye Aye sir.

*Larok sat at his desk reading the message from Colonel Traks*
Larok: Gunny could you get the Lt and come in here we need to make some changes in our deployments.
*The senior NCO and the Marine Xo walked in and took seats in fount of Laroks desk.*
Larok: It seems our Marines need to work on being invisible. Lets get our people out of armor, stow the rifles, and issue type one phasers. Keep Pvt Rocky, Selis, and Cpl Kimit out of sight from the Challenger's Crew; I'm sure you can find them something to do.
Lewis: Aw come on sir wouldn't you like to let Rocky go a few rounds with that doctor of theirs.
*Larok just looked at the Senior NCO and knew were he had to start the retraining to get this squad up to specs.
Larok: Now Gunny comments like that could get assigned to guard duty on the deuterium tanks.
Lewis: Lt he's making a joke right?
Linkus: Vulcan's do not joke and neither do Marine Majors. Pass a long to the troops the Marines have landed; play time is over and if they do not like it they will be guarding the brig from the inside of it. If they want to redo basic I'm sure the Major and I can oblige them . Sir?
Larok: No you said all that needs saying at this time, except that Gunny if you like your stripes you had better convince me that you deserve them. Dismissed.

It had been peaceful on the bridge, as the Vesusvius wasn't going anywhere Morgan was busy reconfiguring his console. While the docking clamps on Discordia were out he had been using the thrusters to hold the ship together and had reconfigured his console to allow him to monitor the stresses on the ship while he fired the thrusters. It had been a taxing but enjoyable task. Now the engineering crews had got their act together and fixed the clamps he could go back his normal station-keeping duties.
It was then that a hum filled the air behind Morgan, He looked over his shoulder in time to see 10 people arrive in a transporter haze. The Commodore, Commander Thorad and Major Larok were the only faces Morgan recognised. The majority of the rest were human and dressed in navy jumpsuits that he recognised as the uniforms of Earth's (pre-federation) star fleet. He grinned, this was turning into a very interesting mission.
"Welcome to the USS Vesuvius," Sonak spoke to them, "allow me to introduce my first officer, Commander first class Vander Halthor, my navigations officer Lieutenant Morgan Nikolayevich, my science officer, Commander Fist Class Fox. You have met my operations officer Lieutenant Thorad and my marine chief Major Larok."
Morgan gave a smile as he was introduced. He looked back towards his console as the Co started to give orders.
She turned to face Morgan. "Lieutenant, please make Lieutenant Wolf comfortable and see to it that she is given guest quarters. Restrict her access to the replicator and the ship."
Morgan rose from his seat, pausing a moment to check that his relief had arrived. He walked over to the young red haired lieutenant. An politely escorted her off the bridge.
"Since the captain asked me to be your escort, I assume you are Challenger's navigation officer?" Morgan hoped this was so, after all handling a ship at sub-light hadn't changed much since there had been ship to handle at sub-light. It would at least give them something to talk about.

Sharon followed the officer then he spoke.

"Lieutenant. I was the ships Navigator, cureently I'am now the Armory Officer, or I would hgave to assume that in this period its called something else, probably chief of Security." Sharon said.
Sharon looked at him and figured he had to be the navigator. "I have to assume then you are the navigator here then."
Sharon thought he was cute not bad for someone she was older then him by many years but they looked roughly the same age, the difference being the timneline since the Vesuvius is from the future and the Challenger being from the past. She was thinking about the ship, the people looked at her when they walked down the corridor, then they reached her quarters.
"Do you have a minute, I want to ask you something." Sharon said.
They went inside, the quarters were bigger then what she was used to, boots came running up and jumped into her arms she gave him a kiss and scratched his back.
"This is my cat boots, boots this is Lieutenant Morgan." Sharon said.
Sharon loved on boots untill he wanted down, she let him down and he ran across the floor like a madman and ran into what she could only assume was her bedroom.
"Lieutenant, I know you cannot talk about this period of time but what if I wanted to remain here?" Sharon asked.

Post by Andrew Kirk on Jul 10, 2008 21:31:29 GMT
Andy found himself now on yet another futuristic ship, this one however was less guarded, or at least it appeared so at a first glance. He was escorted by two officers to where they were holding the Challenger while she was undergoing repairs, and both of the officers were unarmed, a good sign of trust, Kirk thought to himself.
Once he entered the large cargo bay he saw the scope of the work the USS Raven and her crew had done to get the Challenger inside the larger USS Raven. At first the former engineer was floored, as he’d never seen his ship from this view and this close up before. It was almost unreal.
“It’ll take some getting used to.” Andy heard a single man shout from half across the cargo bay as he walked over to the Challenger’s skipper. Kirk seeing the man moved toward him in a friendly manner the two apparent guards peeling off with a simple wave of the hand by the Raven’s engineer.
“Captain, I’m Commander Scott McLean,” McLean said as he extended his dirty hand out for the Captain to shake, “It’s good to meet you.”
”Likewise,” Kirk replied shaking the engineers hand.
Both men stood awkwardly looking at the Challenger. McLean smiled, as he was proud of the work his engineers had done in a short period of time, while on the other hand Andy was still speechless by the scope of the operation.
“What can I do to help?” Kirk finally asked.
“Well I hear you were once the Chief Engineer of this old girl.”
“That’s correct.”
“Well good, because my guys can’t seem to figure some of your systems out. They are just to outdated for us to work on.”
There was a change in Kirk’s demeanor as his brain switched gears form Command, and fell back into Engineering. His pace quickened and McLean followed almost in step, “What systems do you have online?”
“Just life support, we can’t get the warp core back just yet. There are some seriously fried components that we just don’t have and can’t replicate because they aren’t in our database.”
”Replicate?” Kirk asked.
McLean hesitated fearing that he might reveal to much information to the Captain of the past, but figured just because he told him what it was he wasn’t telling him how it worked or how to build one, “It’s a device that can create anything we want from existing matter, just as long as we have a sample within our database of what we want to replicate. Your parts catalog is definitely not in our system.”
“Understandable.” Kirk replied simply as they approached an open airlock with a ladder leading into Challenger. Gripping the ladder he turned to McLean, “Into the fray right Scott.”
“Yes sir.” McLean replied with the smile of a peer and not of a subordinate.
“Please, call me Andy.”
“No problem, Andy.” McLean replied as he followed Andy up the ladder and back into the Challenger.

Jonathan looked deep into the sensor read out and before him at the OPS station his eyes shot open. The Vesuvius was about to be overwhelmed by an unbelievable number of ships. The subspace wake that had rocked the Vesuvius had been caused by a fleet of small ships as they rushed past at faster than light speeds, and now they were returning, this time at sub light speeds.
“Bridge to Commodore Reckus, I’ve got hundreds of unidentified craft heading to our position.”
“Do they appear hostile?” Sonak replied through the COM.
“Unknown as of yet ma’am, but what I do know is that they are small and nimble fighters that have warp capabilities. I recommend that we decloak and move into defensive potions along side the Raven.”

Saryn listened intently as he stood with a device the woman had called a tricorder in his hands, his head cocked slightly sideways as he took in as much information as he could. The captain had left only seconds before to the giant vessel that loomed over their current residence, if one could call it that. Saryn felt it was more like a cage, even though it was larger than the Challenger. Far larger in fact.
"Small craft?" he asked coldly, "cloaking device? What is this cloaking device?" He had heard her mention it before, but couldn't fathom what exactly she meant. Nowhere in his past as armoury officer had he come across such a term for tactical technology.
"It is basically a screen that deflects light and sensors," Sonak explained as patiently as she could. She was rapidly losing her patience with this Vulcan doctor; he was far colder than any Vulcan she knew. Even Larok showed more emotion than he did, and her marine showed less than she had ever shown. Between the three of them, she could be classified as emotional.
"We should head back for the bridge, we would indeed be safer there. However..." She pondered. "Yes we are going to the bridge." She took the other Vulcan by his arm, suddenly yanking her hand back when small teeth grazed over it, drawing two thin lines of blood.
"Numike!" Saryn suddenly snapped, shoving Sonak roughly aside as he stepped between her and his daughter. "You do not bite your host, even to defend me." He turned to the woman commanding officer. "I do apologise, my daughter is quite young and still very alien to me in some ways too."
Sonak said nothing, just looking at her hand for a few seconds. She watched as Saryn put to practice what he had just learned, his hand unerringly picking up the dermal regenerator to heal the two grazes. "Thank you," she finally answered with a small smile. Odd Vulcan or no, he was a healer and she could see he did live by his oaths as a medical officer. "Your daughter may stay here in sickbay, she would be safer here. You, however need to come with me."
Saryn nodded. "Please, lead the way." He followed her back to the bridge, still pondering his words to his captain. While he played along, he didn't see the need to remain placid; they were in their own time, and they needed to get back home one way or another. And this advanced vessel was just the means to do it; when the right time came.
He watched as the woman talked to her crew, and thankfully the ranking Andorian was no longer on the main bridge. The other one was still there and it drew a scowl from the doctor, which in turn caused heads to turn and stare right at him. He cast them a baleful glare of his own, standing stiffly at the back of the bridge with his face turned to the main viewscreen.
"Commodore, I respectfully request permission to retire to my assigned quarters. I find I am fatigued and overwhelmed with new impressions. Please, wake me in an hour if my services are needed. I would wish to speak with that other vessel's medical officer soon. I understand we are under attack and I also need to understand your need for hiding vital information from us, but I will require rest now."
The woman nodded, not verbally answering his concerns. Giving a nod of his own, Saryn found himself escorted to his new residence: small quarters that were still double the size of his own aboard Challenger. He stripped off his uniform and lay down on the bed, surprised at the fact that all his personal belongings had been transported here. Including his precious red-bladed sword.
The Vulcan permitted himself a small smile at this good fortune; the weapon could come in good use later. He would wear it, concealed beneath the coat he tended to wear when on duty, and he would use it to defend himself if he wasn't allowed his phase-pistol or one of the sleeker weapons these people donned. Closing his eyes and concentrating on relaxation, Saryn soon drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

*Larok's adjustments to the Marine's training schedule was interrupted by the arrival of the small craft.*
Larok: Larok to all Marines gear up and proceed to defense stations, Lt Linkus meet me in shuttle bay two, Larok to Sonak we have only two combat certified fighter pilots aboard we will be ready for launch in two minutes.
*Entering the shuttle bay Larok was meet by Kimlit his Klingon demolitions expert.*
Kimlit: Sir fighter two is warmed up and ready: fighter two should finish preflight in 45 seconds. I had just finished installing the new targeting computer in fighter two so preflight was 90% done.
Larok: Well done Corporal, I will take fighter One when the Lt gets in here have her launch after me.
*Larok sealed his combat armor and strapped into the fighter. Activating the ships drive he moved through the atmosphere barrier and as he moved to the port side of the Vesuvius he noted that fighter two was mirroring his position to the Starboard of the V.*
Larok: Fighter one to Vesuvius we are on station and linking flight computers for maneuvering. Awaiting orders.

The work was going slow. more so because of the simple fact that, while the Raven had all the necessary spec's for the NX Class ship, she had non of the practical expertise that was needed. Thus their need to use the original crew to assist with repairs.
The Admiral, somewhat unusually, in Torek's mind, was putting all his effort into trying to find a way home. Leaving him to oversee the running of the ship.
"Sir ......" the duty Navigation Officer said, a deep frown forming on his brow.
"Lieutenant ?" Carl said from the Command seat.
"That massive fleet of ship's that passed us a short time ago ... They are heading back this way."
Carl leaned forward, the PADD he was reading forgotten. The last thing the Raven needed was company, hostile company more so, because she was in no position to maneuver.
"How long before they get here ?"
"They dropped out of warp one million kilometers from us. At their present speed ... Eleven minutes ... Sir ... there's almost three hundred vessels in that armada !"
Carl tapped the 1MC ship-wide Comm ..
=^= RED ALERT ! .. This is the XO .. We are about to have company .. Lots of it .. All personnel evacuate Challenger immediately .. Repeat .. Evacuate Challenger immediately .. Helm bring us round to put Vesuvius between us and those ships .. Raise shields arm all weapons .. Prepare for possible jettison of NX Challenger .. THIS IS NOT A DRILL ! =^=
=^= McLean to Bridge .. I'm not sure the Challenger will stand up to being jettisoned in her present state .. Is there noth ......=^=
=^= We may have no choice Scott .. But it will be the VERY last resort I assure you .. For now get everyone out of there .. Secure the ship as best you can .. Bridge out =^=
"Commander." the Tactical Officer said, "Vesuvius has launched two heavily armed shuttles, they're taking up positions port and starboard of the ship."
Carl hit his Comm badge ..
=^= Torek to Colonel Traks =^=
=^= Traks =^=
=^= You heard the message .. Secure the Challenger people as best you can and get ready just in case we need to get defensive .. I may need to dump the Challenger so ensure the area is clear of all personnel .. We will use the Vesuvius as a shield for the moment so we wont be launching anything of our own =^=
=^= Aye Sir .. Traks out =^=
Carl watched the view-screen as hundreds of almost pin-pricks of light grew to be actual ships. They had been fully scanned, and individually were no threat to either twenty fourth century vessel. But there was no way the Raven could fight with the Challenger in situ, and was greatly limited, due to the sheer amount of structure that had been removed to accommodate the Challenger in the first place, even if they did abandon the NX to her fate ..........

Sonak slowly sank down in her chair after Saryn had left the bridge, flanked by two security officers. She trusted the Vulcan would keep his word and remain in his quarters until he was called for in roughly an hour. Sighing, she gazed at the main viewscreen, watching the Raven move such that it would put her ship between them and the enemy.
She could understand why the admiral would order such a move, even if she wasn't too happy with it. She nodded appreciatively when Larok signaled that he was launching Vesuvius' only two fighters. It surprised her to begin with that they had two fighter craft, she hadn't known they had been added to the compliment at their last repair and supply run from Bellicose.
"Yes, disengage cloaking device," she acknowledged Kirk's suggestion, holding on tightly to the armrests of her seat when the ship shook violently again. "How on Earth do they know where we are, when they are unable to see us?" she pondered aloud.
Beside Kirk, Thorad looked up. "Perhaps their sensors are more advanced than ours?" the Andorian suggested, glancing sideways at his ex-Borg chief.
Sonak nodded in agreement. "That would make sense," she remarked, rising back to her feet. "Either way, the Raven is defenseless, they cannot maneuver well with part of Challenger sticking out the aft side of their saucer section." Her eyes sparkled with the excitement she experienced but would not admit to. Pulling back her hair behind her ears, she turned towards Kirk, and then towards Morgan who was back sat at the helm.
"Kirk, report to Mercury's bridge." She tapped her combadge. "Commander Fox, report to Discordia bridge!" Again she tapped the combadge. "All hands, prepare for multi vector assault mode. All modules spread out, co-ordinate with Larok's fighters and protect the Raven at all cost!"
She signaled to Thorad. "Contact the Raven, get them to report on their battle condition. How maneuverable are they, exactly?"
The Andorian nodded. "I have the Raven online ma'am," he answered.
"Ah, Commander Torek. Where is Admiral MC7of9? I would have expected him to contact me by now. We are moving to protect your vessel, how much firepower do you have?" She paused. "Is my first officer still with you? I would like to speak with him."
The ship rocked slightly as the three modules moved apart, a small flight of the alien vessels concentrating the attack on the main module. Behind her, Thorad screamed as his console exploded.
Down in sickbay, Numike clung to one of the nurses in fear; her father had left her behind and had told her to stay put. She was so scared, she finally fled out of sickbay and ran to the only place she knew she could possibly find her father: the bridge.
Sonak turned as the child ran onto the bridge, ready to order her to leave when the child was thrown off her feet and hard into the auxiliary science station at the aft of the bridge. Since she still had Torek on the screen, she turned to him. "I am transporting two injured to your sickbay," she informed him, "one Andorian male adult and one Mirandan female child. I have no active chief medical officer at present, can yours take care of them?"
Her eyes narrowed as she regarded the young officer on the other end of the line. "And were you not sending your counselor our way to aid us in dealing with the Challenger senior staff? We have yet to receive him. My senior staff too would benefit from speaking with a counselor, that does include this vessel's commanding officer."

Larok: One to two, loosen up formation the V is separating; formation V'sep.
*As the Vesuvius separated into multiple vector assault mode Larok and Linkis dropped back and took up positions between the Vesuvius and Raven.*
Larok: {personal log: Lt Shadow Linkis and I have launched in two modified Peregrine class courier ships, I know the modifications were done without the knowledge or approval of the Commodore I take full responsibility for this action, while it is within my purview to modify equipment within the Marine TOE the deployment of uncertified fighters in combat is a risk to say the least. The only limiting factor is that we only had time to off load half of the micro torpedoes from one of the weapons pods for the a runabout that was loaded during the last layover at Bellicose. So they were dividend between these two fighters we only have 15 each. But our 6 pulse phaser cannons each are 100% charged and both computers have been upgraded to interface with the V's systems. end entry.}
Larok: One to two heads up here they come.

Jim MacGregor had received a request to assist in the medical care of the challenger crew, and was on his way to tale the medical shuttle "Piper" to the Vesuvius.
Suddenly the red alert klaxons sounded.
Well, that took care of that. He notified the shuttle pilots, and the medical crew that were to meet him at the piper to stand down until the red alert subsided, then returned to sickbay. Ensign Quin was seeing to a couple of minor injuries from their abrupt trip across the galactic devide. Jim immediately began to issue instructions.
"Get all the biobeds powered up, and have response kits standing by. Send aid station readyness reports from each deck directly to my office."
As he gave the orders, he noticed that his staff were already on most of it. His people knew their jobs well. Once in his office, he opened a channel to the Vesuvius's sickbay.
=/\=Vesuvius, this is Doctor Jim MacGregor CMO USS Raven. I'm sorry, but I'll have to postpone my visit for now, we just went to Red alert. Commodore Reckas, I understand you're doubling as CMO as well. How are your patients doing over there? Is your EMH down? Shall I send a copy of our program on tight beam o free you up for the bridge? =/\=

Carl watched as the uncloaked Vesuvius divided, moving to cover the Raven .. Suddenly, approximately twenty five of the unknown ships broke formation and began to fire on the Federation vessels.
Major Larok's fighter began to move, positioning itself to fire on the on-coming ships, destroying two in quick succession. But most got through. Hitting all three sections of the Vesuvius before concentrating their fire on the Raven as they passed.
"Damage." Carl asked, glancing at the ready room door as it opened.
"Shields still at ninety eight point six percent Commander. They would need to sustain constant fire to penetrate. But there's enough of them to do just that."
Suddenly they could see one of the enemy ships being hit, but not destroyed .. It headed straight for the Raven ..
"Brace for impact !" Torek shouted, as the ship smashed into the shields. The impact shook the Bridge, knocking Admiral Mc7 off his feet. There was an audible crack as his shoulder caught the edge of the Opps station. Mc fell to the floor in agony.
=^= Sick-bay .. Medical Emergency .. Get someone up here immediately ! =^= the duty Opps Officer ordered.
=^= On our way =^=
"See what you can do for him." Carl said.
=^= Sorry Raven .. That one got through =^= Larok came over the Comm.
Carl could see that almost all of the enemy ship's were now heading their way. The Vesuvius was firing everything they had, destroying ships by the second, but they were simply overwhelming the Federation vessels ...
"OPEN FIRE !" Carl ordered, "ALL WEAPONS' SYSTEMS !"
A Galaxy Class star ship, firing all her weapons systems simultaneously, was something to behold .. But even her impressive array couldn't hold off the numbers that were attacking them.
"Shields now at eighty four percent." Tactical said.
"Aft torpedoes ... Full spread. Let's get a few as they pass us !" Carl said.
Six photon torpedoes spread in a wide arc behind the Raven, detonating as eight of the enemy ships passed. Five were destroyed instantly, while the rest suffered varying degrees of damage.
As suddenly as it began, it ended. The attackers were heading away at speed ...... The federation vessels ceased firing, watching the enemy regroup. Torek was about to ask about casualties, when the Tactical Officer pointed at the screen and yelled ...
"HERE THEY COME AGAIN !" ..........

*Traks monitored the attack and noticed a strange item about their tactics.*
Traks: Traks to Sonak and Torek, the fighters are attacking in lateral strafing runs, showing 2d strategy not 3d. Recommend Vesuvius and her fighters take up a spherical formation around the Raven, and set some phasers for proximity blasts treat these attacks like cloaked ships or old time bomber attacks make them maneuver and mess up their strafing runs. Traks out.
*Leaving his Office Traks headed to the bridge entering the bridge he heard.*

*As the members of the Challenger's crew were told to exit the ship due to trouble, Robert motioned for his MACO's to make a detour to the armory and gear up.*
Robert: Top watch for their Marines and security, I am tired of these people treating us like children. XO I will not order you to do this but?
Susan Towe: Sir you know I volunteer.
Robert: Thanks Susan; take squad Two and set up a security premier around the ship Get into environmental suits; use the shuttle pods or hit the life pods if they have to jettison the ship. Squad one with me we will secure the perimeter and free up the Ravens Marines to do their own jobs.
*Squad one fully armed and armored exited the Challenger to face a squad of Marines similarly armed. An Andorran female with her helmet attached to her belt raised her weapon and challenged the MACO's*
Sharad: Disarm and join your crew in the recreation room.
RJ: Not going to happen! We will defend our ship, you guys worry about your own ship, I assume you have better things to do then baby sit us.
Sharad: Sharad to Traks we have a situation here; the MACO have armed themselves and are demanding to defend their ship.
Traks: I was expecting this so stand down and leave two men to back them up. Inform them them to follow the MACO Co lead; unless he jeopardizes the Raven. Have the rest of your squad report to their battle stations.
Sharad: Cpl Tora, Pvt Adams you heard the boss everyone else with me.
*Taking out his communicator he opened it and tried to raise his Capitan.*
RJ: James to Captain Kirk, sir we have armed ourselves and are defending the Challenger I have squad two suited up on the ship with orders to hit the life pods or the shuttle pods if the ship is jettisoned. The Colonel Traks has left two of his marines to back us up or watch us depending on how you look at it. <tag Kirk/ Torek>

Even deep with in the Challenger all hands could hear Red Alert alarms sounding through out the Raven. It didn’t take a 24th century Engineer to tell Kirk that those alarms meant business. The conversation between Commander McLean and the Raven’s Executive officer was brief but utterly to the point, the Challenger was going to have to fend for herself.
“Everybody abandon ship.” Kirk heard McLean call out into the Challenger’s ship wide COM system, and for the second time in the same day Andrew was leaving the ship he called home for the safety of another, “That means you too Captain.”
Kirk picked up a PDA and monitored the life signs on board. During the repairs they had managed to get the ships sensors back online, but independent sustained power was still out of the question. He was going to be damned if he wasn’t the last one off his own ship, and after only five minutes every single life form had either walked or been teleported off the Challenger.
Standing in an observation control room Kirk watched as the small fighters darted across open space around the rear section of Challenger’s warp nacelles. Then suddenly the Raven shook tossing Kirk and the others in the observation room around. Andy braced himself up against the nearest wall just as he spotted something down by the Challenger. Several of his MACOs had suited up and readied themselves for battle.
“James to Captain Kirk, sir we have armed ourselves and are defending the Challenger I have squad two suited up on the ship with orders to hit the life pods or the shuttle pods if the ship is jettisoned. The Colonel Traks has left two of his marines to back us up or watch us depending on how you look at it.”
“Good work Colonel, but evacuate the cargo bay as soon as possible. We are being forced to ditch the Challenger as she is drawing to much power from the Raven, and it’s keeping her from fighting effectively. Once the fighting subsides we are going to resume repairs.”

Jonathan rushed form the OPS console on the main bridge of the Vesuvius to the bridge of the Mercury module. It was a fascinating experience to know that there were three different bridges aboard the Vesuvius, each a little different from the other, giving each section a personality all its own.
“Initiate separation sequence.” Jonathan ordered to the Mercury’s helmsman.
“Separation sequence initiated.”
“Good, move us into our planned defensive position around the Raven and go to Red Alert.”
“Aye sir.”
The lights dimmed on the small bridge and red lights flashed around the parameter. It brought a flood of memories back as it was an all to familiar sight for the former Borg drone. This time however he was on the defensive side of the attack.
“We’re in position.” Reported the helmsman just as the first wave of fighters rolled into and attacked the Raven with all they had.
“Target the ships as they pass out of the Raven’s firing range.”
“I’ve got a lock.”
”Fire at will.”
With each shot a ship would go down, but another quickly replaced it. It seemed that if they shot one down then two would quickly replace it.
“What is the status on the larger fleet?” Kirk asked.
“They are waiting just out of weapons range.”
“Probably testing our defenses.” Jonathan said out loud but to himself.
“They could be trying to draw one of us out.” The Tactical officer spoke up in between salvos. Just as he finished speaking a sight, which Jonathan never thought he would ever see, was taking place in front of him. To the layman it looked as if the Raven was giving birth, but in fact they were jettisoning the Challenger from the make shift dry dock.
“Now this complicates things.” Kirk said.

“Attack wing two report.”
“Heavy losses sir, but our sensors tell us we’re causing some damage to their defenses.”
Joq’tel winged his starfighter over and pulled hard to avoid the incoming fire from the massive ship with the round disk atop the smaller section. Once aligned on the massive target he opened fire with all six of his blasters, each one firing after the other to avoid overheating.
“Sir our blasters are having little effect on the large ship. Permission to call in flight three and four to attack the smaller Vackall ships.” Joq’tel heard over this in helmet radio.
“Do it and lead the attack,” He said to his long time friend and second in command, “and Meh’gol, the Gods be with you this day.”
”As they are with you.” Meh’gol replied before peeling away to pull in the extra fighters needed to continue the attack.”
“Flights One and Two ready missiles and target the large blue objects on the rear of the main battleship.”
Joq’tel pulled around and lined up his shot. His computer screamed a target lock indicator into his headset and he squeezed off two of his four missiles before pulling up to avoid any in coming fire. He would have to be told by his wingman if his shots had any impact.
“Where are our destroyers?”
“They will be here, sir. The feel is being held up at the major gas fields and once they are clear they will be dropping from light speed just on the opposite side for the Vackall battle fleet.”
”Let the Gods keep us safe until they get here.”
“I second that.”

=^= Do you have a Councillor on board Admiral .. If so .. Would it be possible to avail of his services on the Vesuvius for a short time ? =^= Sonak asked.
=^= I'll have him beam over now Commodore .... =^=
"Mister Biers." Mc said.
"Yes Sir." Daniel said, making his way from the Bridge ..Daniel understood the order he had received from Carl, but in the back of Daniel’s mind was the order he had received from J, ‘Jack has some nerve ordering me to do this, he knows full well that I could get neck deep in trouble for it’ but Daniel knew he had to do his job this time. Making his way to his quarters Daniel went into a secure box under his bed, rummaging though the contents Daniel found the Padd he needed, getting up Daniel made his way to the transporter room and hoped the security on the Vesuvius was light. Walking into the transporter room Daniel looked at the chief and spoke “Chief, I need to be transported to the Vesuvius as soon as practical, preferably their Sickbay.” the chief looked at him and quickly said it would be a little while before he could send him over. Daniel annoyed but patient moved over to one side to allow a group of engineers to walk onto the transporter pad and beam over. Finally after several minutes Daniel walked onto the pad and watched as the transporter room changed for the scenery of the Sickbay of the Vesuvius. As Daniel fully materialised one of the nurse walked over and asked who he was “Commander 1st Class Daniel Biers, I was ordered to come over and assist with counselling here on the Vesuvius.” the nurse nodded and pointed him to the chief medical officer’s office “We do not have a chief at the moment so I am sure you can use his office to set yourself up.” With a smile the young nurse walked off to tend to her patients. Pleased that no one seemed to be paining him any attention Daniel walked into the sickbay and put the two Padds he was carrying on the desk, taking the one he had removed from his quarters Daniel moved to the near by consol. “Computer, access data logs from just before entering the Andromeda galaxy to now, transfer all records onto Padd and then delete records from your database including backups. Security code Biers sigma three one dash nine four two omega” Daniel waited hoping he had not set off any security systems, “Computer upload file code named eteled into area that was deleted.” Daniel watched as the Padd felled with the information the Vesuvius had collected, but before the files could be deleted the screen died and was then reset. ‘hmm was that meant to happen’ unsure if this was normal or not Daniel quickly moved away from the consol and began making his way to the bridge. As Daniel made his way up he felt nervous every time a security team moved past, ‘get a grip, if they thought you had tried to mess around with their computer systems they would have shot you by now’ deciding that he needed a drink to calm himself he made his way to the officer’s mess and settled down to reading the records on the Vesuvius’ senior staff, Daniel had meet them a little before he was transferred to the Raven but it never hurt to know who you were going to be dealing with. Daniel did not know how long he had been reading but the next thing he knew the ship around him shock violently. Jumping up he noted that he was over due for reporting in to the commodore ‘well this is going to be fun’. Daniel dashed out of the room with all the other officers leaving to get into their red alert positions, Daniel was never very good at keeping his telepathy under control and he could not help but pick up on a few thoughts here and there. Arriving on the bridge from the turbo lift Daniel noted the Commodore near her command chair “…have yet to receive him. My senior staff too would benefit from speaking with a counselor, that does include this vessel's commanding officer." Daniel edgily moved forward onto the bridge almost losing his feet as the ship rocked a little more “Commodore, I apologise for my tardiness, I got mildly lost on my way up to the bridge.” Daniel knew it was a weak excuse, but sounded better than ‘I am late because I was trying to remove some files from your main computer’. Daniel moved around to look out of the main view screen “And if you want any help with this enemies mind I would suggest not asking me, whoever they are either they or their ships are blocking even my telepathy” Daniel realised what he had said and wished he had not, hoping there were no challenger crew on the bridge. <Tag Ves’s Minerva Bridge> (ooc sorry everyone for both the late and long post, been having a half working half not working internet connection for the past week. hopefully i have it fixed now

Kirk: “Good work Colonel, but evacuate the cargo bay as soon as possible. We are being forced to ditch the Challenger as she is drawing to much power from the Raven, and it’s keeping her from fighting effectively. Once the fighting subsides we are going to resume repairs.”
RJ: Aye Aye Sir;
*RJ switched channels on his communicator.*
RJ: Susan abandon ship NOW no questions.
*Three MACOs exited the challenger as the other two started to materialize beside the others. As Lt Sharad entered the cargo bay. But as they began to fade; Lt. Sharad stepped to the transporter control in the cargo bay and started working the controls.*
Sharad: I can do this I know I can.
RJ: What is happening?
Sharad: They must have tried to use the Challengers transporter but when the power was cut there was not enough power to complete the transport, now let me save them.
*RJ and the rest of the MACOs looked on as two of their number faded from existence.*
Sharad: Cross circuiting to b and now here we go.
* As the transporter hum rose in level a light came from behind RJ and he turned to see his xo and an other MACAO begin to take shape on the transporter stage. As the transport finished the two collapsed to the stage.*
Sharad: Medical Emergency shuttle bay one. OK lets get them and everyone out of here they have to blow the air out to help get the ship out.
RJ: OK move it you heard the Lt.
* The whole group moved into the corridor as a team of medics came around the corner and began to tend to the two victims of the interrupted transport. RJ turned to the Andorran Lieutenant.*
RJ: Thank you now if you will show us the way we will be happy to back up your people as needed.
Sharad: I think that will be acceptable ; Adams per Col Traks start passing out the Challengers weapons to their owners Col James please have your people assist him; you and I need you to accompany me to security to coronate your people with mine.
RJ: OK Top take charge and make sure the Armory officer is not plotting a take over. James to Capitan Kirk we are off the ship and we are working with the Ravens Marines I will be in security to coordinate between their people and ours. We have two injured, my xo tried to use the Challengers transporter and the Marines saved them.
