This one will probably be moved to USS Raven archives - for a joint mission with NX Challenger and, hopefully, USS Vesuvius-A.
Mission outline so far:
The Challenger shall be thrown into the Andromeda Galaxy, while the entity that now left the Vesuvius has both thrown them back into time to 2158, as well as out of known space into the Andromeda galaxy.
If the Raven will join us, they will either investigate Vesuvius' disappearance, follow the temporal distortion and get to our location, or they'll get creative on their own shift in time.
We'll encounter Challenger, and meet some interesting new friends and foes.
Vesuvius crew can start getting their bearings, with consoles sparked out, cloaking devices going funny...modules detaching because of failing dockingclamps maybe? you name it...have fun!
Challenger crew, join us as soon as Captain Kirk gives the go. Raven crew, if you join us, when admiral MC7 gives the go.

Captain’s Log June 23rd, 2158. The Challenger has finished its repair and refit and we are now leaving Earth once again to explore the vast reaches of our known sector. I would be a liar if I said I wasn’t sad that we’re leaving again; but exploration of the unknown is what we signed up for and I’m sure excited to be getting back underway, even if it means leaving the safety of home once again.
The rumor mill has been firing on all cylinders as word of a new class of starship being commissioned is just around the corner. It seems with in the next two to three years our little ship will be something of an antique. Something Starfleet won’t need exploring the cosmos anymore.
With our current refits I had assumed that Starfleet was going to rush us back to the front lines, but with a serious lull in the fighting they have decided they needed at least one ship back on its original mission of exploration. We are heading out to a sector of space while according to Saryn the Vulcans have not even explored. It apparently holds little interest to the logically thinking minds of the Vulcan people. In all honestly, if this was two years ago I would’ve said that Saryn was holding something back but I’ve come to find out that he values his life just as much as we do, and if there was something out there that could harm the ship he would brief us accordingly.
Kirk pressed the small button on his desk and ended the recording. He took a moment to reflect on what he had just said and to wonder if he’d just left anything important out. Just outside his window he could see North America coming into view and he had to stand to watch him home continent go past.
As Earth turned under Challenger he though of friends and family he would not see for the next several months before their next scheduled refit. He wondered if they felt the same pains of separation as he did, or did they simply have more going on in their lives to completely mask those hollow feelings.
“Captain we are ready to depart.” He wouldn’t have the time to continue contemplating those thoughts work was to be done.
The bridge of the Challenger sported the best view of Earth, but despite the screens near perfect rendering and display there was something to be said about just simply looking through a small window and seeing mother Earth with your own eyes.
“Helm, take us out.” Kirk ordered.
“Aye sir.”
The Challenger was escorted out past the Moon by two smaller Earth defense craft. Two small fighters that individually didn’t have enough power to take on a starship of the Challenger’s size, but with enough of them racing around an enemy ship they could cause significant damage. Kirk smiled as the small ‘fast movers’ weaved a back and forth pattern in front of the Challenger, it reminded him of his days when he was learning space flight for the first time.
“Lunar One to Challenger you’re all clear to go to warp. Good luck and be safe.”
“Thank you Lunar One.” Kirk replied as the two craft streaked past the view screen.
“Coordinates set.” The helm officer reported.
“Lets go.” With the casual order the Challenger’s engines revved up and she quickly jumped to warp speed.

Still a little dazed, Sonak sat up on the biobed, looking up at Larok's expressionless face. "What happened?" she asked as she rose to her feet, gratefully accepting the marine's assistance as she was still a little unsteady.
She felt the ship rock violently under her feet and if it hadn't been for Larok's support, she'd have been thrown painfully back against the biobed. "Thank you," she offered quietly, before moving off to the CMO's office. "Bridge, report!"
"Ma'am, we're still assessing the damage the entity did when it left our ship. Give me a few minutes and I'll have a report for you," Mark Harper replied, exchanging a worried look with Halthor, who'd jumped up to take the helm to keep the Vesuvius on course.
"Proceed," the Vulcan captain replied, "I will be back up on the bridge in five minutes." She cast the duty doctor a glare, daring him to keep her off duty. The doctor shrugged, knowing that to try was moot.
Tapping Larok on the arm, she walked out of sickbay, but not before a final scan and an injection with a powerful stimulant. She felt revitalised, even after pulling two duty shifts straight, without any rest. When they reached the bridge, all but the chief engineer were assembled, looking confused as all stood bent over the operations console. "Report!" she called, startling them.
Harper straightened and tugged at his tunic, looking flustered and confused. "Do you want the good news first or the bad news?" he asked carefully, nudging Halthor to say something as well.
"Give me the good news first." The Vulcan eyed the strategic operations officer wearily. "Well?"
"The good news is that no serious damage was done, though we'll not have cloak until engineering can repair it. Discordia's cloak was damaged and Mercury's docking clamps were also dislodged. We've got maintenance teams on their way to make repairs. The bad news is, I don't know where we are..."
"What do you mean, you do not know where we are?" Sonak bodily shoved Harper aside, then transferred sensor control to the main viewscreen. There were plenty of stars of various intensities and sizes, but none seemed familiar, though at one time she thought to see Rigel. "Ah...and how long will it take you to determine where we are?"
"I do not know," Harper admitted honestly, "though perhaps Fox could go to astrometrics and try to determine our location?"
Sonak peered at the starchart again. "Unnecessary, it appears we no longer are in our own galaxy. The computer does not recognise any star formations, and no diagnostic will prove that our computers are off. However we do need to find out where we are." She realised that the only place to do it would be from astrometrics. "Fox, get hold of Byrne and work with him on reconfiguring sensors to scan for our location."
She paused. "In the mean time, concentrate on repairs, we will need our cloaking device. I just hope someone noticed our disappearance and report it to Starfleet."
Harper creased his brow in concern. "Ma'am, we've got another problem. We're not only displaced in location but also in time. From what the computer cán give me, it is 2158, Earth time."
"And given that, star formations are different as well." She tapped her combadge. "Fox, you need to recalibrate for a timedisplacement as well. Harper says it is 2158, Earth time."

The NX-03 Challenger had been at warp four for several hours and Kirk knew that they would be arriving at their destination with in a few days so the attitude on the bridge was very pedestrian. Reports came and went nearly every hour as they always do when a ship comes out of dry dock; it was all he could do to keep himself from occupied since all the duty stations were running at 100%.
“What’s that?” Kirk heard the helm officer ask out loud and to nobody in particular.
Kirk looked up just in time to see a bright white light engulf the view screen and after a moment the entire ship. Monitors began to flicker, sirens rang out uncontrollably, the lights on the bridge flickered but it was a hard to notice all that above the blinding white light that seem to becoming from all direction.
Kirk shielded his eyes with his hand but it didn’t do any good, the light continued to come and it seemed to get brighter. Suddenly the ship began to shake violently, crewmen and women fell over if they had been standing, those who were sitting grabbed onto their stations.
Kirk’s ears felt as if he had suddenly been dropped several hundred feet underwater. He tried to equalize the pressure but it didn’t help the pressure continued to grow. The noise on the bridge was so loud that even yelling with all you had evoked not a single audible decibel.
Stars on the view screen stretched so much so that eventually the entire view screen turned went black and despite visually looking as if they were in a starless void the Challenger was racing through space at unimaginable speeds and Kirk could feel the pressure of it on his body.
The strain was more than Kirk’s body could take and just when he thought it was the end of his life something extraordinary happened, time seemed to stop. He was aware of his own being but the feeling of seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, and years no longer mattered to him. He was infinite and his crewmembers looked as if they were frozen in place, each a grotesque look of fear and pain on their faces.
He wasn’t sure how long the feeling had lasted but what he was sure about was that it was about to end, and end very abruptly. The feeling crept up from behind him and the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end as the hard slap of time and space smashed into his body causing him to black out.
When he came to his new bridge was a mess, exposed wires hung from nearly every station, the main view screen was severally cracked causing a distortion in the image they saw. His ears rang, his vision was stable but his balance was shot as blood leaked out of his nose and ears. He felt like standing but his head wouldn’t let him.
Just in front of the Challenger sat a strange ship. It appeared to be a drift and lifeless, but he suspected his own ship looked much the same. At first he couldn’t believe the size of the ship and chalked it up to the distorted screen but as Challenger drifted closer Kirk’s gut reaction was that it wasn’t a distortion but it was in fact a gigantic ship. That was the least of his problems as he could see the Challenger was on a collision course with the alien ship and with our power and engines they were powerless to stop the impact.

*Larok followed the Commodore to the bridge, taking up a position at science console 2. Sitting down Larok reconfigured the console and brought up the reports of the defensive, weapons, and sensor systems. While looking over the short range sensors Larok noticed a distortion forming and a small ship drifting out of the distortion on direct coerce for impact with the engineering section.*
Larok: Commodore the proximity sensors seem to be offline; there seems to be a spacial rift opening at 38 mark 6 range 3500 Kilometers... Yellow alert small ship on same bearing range 3200 K, velocity 350 kpm on a collision course, ship is showing minimal life support no warp or impulse power, life signs are distorted, ship transponder reads as USS Challenger NX-01. Comparing sensor readings to data banks...... 100% match Captain Andrew Kirk listed as commander at the date we seem to be in. They seem to be in trouble, recommend we stabilize their trajectory and dock them with the engineering section. This ship is from before the Federation but I still recommend the application of the Temporal prime directive.

Looking over his Padd, Duke began to sit behind the desk in his quarters after the visit with the crew. It had seemed liked they were now back at earth, but that was all about to change. Dropping his padd on the desk and brushing his desk off once, he got out of his chair made a quick view of his quarters then walked out and made way towards the science office.
On his way, he noticed that crew were acting rather harshly than he had previously had viewed them, he took this into consideration and made note in his logs then proceeded towards science finding himself, where there would be cylinders and chemicals spread about. He wanted to get his mind off of things for a bit, but missions were also key to the goal of the federation. He needed to focus on everything he had to do. After taking his seat he got a communique coming from the bridge, “Commander McCalister, requesting your presence on the bridge, I believe we may have something out in space that you may wanna take a look at.” Duke touched the communicator and responded back “Understood Captain be right there, I was just getting ready with some things down in science, I’ll be there immediately.” as the connection closed the science officer got his gear and left, making his way to the bridge.
Arriving he found all main crew personnel ready for the him, and the captain looking sternly at the science officer. Duke then looked back at the Captain “Well I don’t know what to say at the moment, I need to do some scans on the vessel, for now it could be an enemy for all we know, I will take science station and report my findings to you.” the science officer reported then walked over to his station, sitting down, dropping his gear, and putting his eyes before the scanner terminal, continuously reading he began to pinpoint the exact readings of the vessel.
“It appears we may be in more trouble than we seem, the shuttle that you see ahead of you, is reading massive hull disruptions, and failures all across the ship and energy fluctuations, as well as our ship, we have some minor energy and hull damage from this latest temporal distortion. But from my readings, I cant clearly distinguish this shuttle from anything we have on federation database or allied database, but what I have come across is the letters on the front of the ship designating the USS Vesuvius. Im sure we will find out when we meet up with the ships captain, if that is permitted.” Duke replied then sat back in his chair looking out his view screen clearly astonished at the massive size of the ship in front of the challenger.

Waking up from a horrible headache, Halthor got his footing, and saw lt morgan on the ground before him, getting both morgan and himself up, they quickly made it to the nearest sickbay for medical attention. It had appeared that morgan was badly injured in the aftermath, but with medical staff available he should be back within two to three days tops. Looking at morgan Halthor took a moment to speak with him “Morgan you will be alright, im glad you were able to stay with me all this time, and it was good to get you out of the brig and not have you just sit there not doing anything and twiddling your thumbs, the medical staff will see to your needs, and I will be on the bridge if you need anything, just give me a ring if you need help.” the andorian mentioned then nodded to the navigations officer and left the medical staff to tend to lt morgan.
Heading out, Vander proceeded to the nearest turbo lift, walking in, he found himself a bit disoriented because of the headache, but got his footing, tapping the terminal the turbo lift shot off to the bridge arriving, he found both sonak and larok. Walking up to Sonak he was happy both were still alive.
“Glad you are alright and still capable of manning the ship commodore sonak, that entity seemed to have launched us into a time distortion as it had promised, what are your readings on your end.”
<Sonak or Larok>
[limegreen] Larok: Commodore the proximity sensors seem to be offline; there seems to be a spacial rift opening at 38 mark 6 range 3500 Kilometers... “So it is true we have been sent back in time, im going to need some time to get my footing in my quarters hopping from one deck to another just is a bit to hazardous to the mind and body if you know what I mean, if you will give you ten minutes preparation I will be back out and would like a status report on our latest ship finding.” Halthor replied.
“Also make sure to note, that before we engage any talks with the beings now that were in another time, as noted by larok, I would recommend we seek a cooperative movement in the event, to see if both our ships can get out of this event, maybe just maybe with our technologies we can find a way to our own time.” halthor commented then walked into his quarters located on the bridge.

Sharon had enjoyed her stay on earth, she had recuperated from her injuries and was back on her feet after spending some time with her mom and dad, she had no limp and felt much better.
Sharon returned to the ship after saying goodbye to her parents, she walked onboard and headed to her security office several officers were sitting around not doing anything. She stood in the doorway and cleared her throat. The Maco co walked up behind her at the same time the officers and the marines came to attention. Sharon turned to look at the Co and smiled.
"I am Lieutenant Sharon Wolf former Navigator now tactical officer." Sharon said extending a hand.
"I am Captain Mike Carson, Maco Commanding Officer, I worked with the former Tactical Officer and was told the new one was a redhead." He said shaking her hand.
Sharon blushed and smiled. "Call me Sharon, I think these guys need to learn a lesson in respect don't you?" She asked.
"I agree, what do you recommend?" He asked.
"I believe one of the training areas is open, so I would say full pt, gear for the marines, and work the hell out of my guys as well, do you agree?" Sharon asked noticing her men starting to sweat.
"I do, and I have the perfect man for the job, let me introduce you to gunnery-sergeant hightower." He said.
A large man about 6'8 stepped up and smiled, he had eyes of blue and red hair as well. He reached down giving Sharon a bearhug that just about cracked ribs and sat her back down at the Cos look.
"Remind me not to [word deleted] you off hightower, my men are yours to do with as you deem neccesary, if they argue or complain let me know, I think the exec could find work for them in engineering cleaning the coils or something." Sharon said.
The big sergeant laughed as well as the co, Sharon moved out of the way and watched both men enter, she smiled knowing this would not make her people happy but thats what they get for being complacent. Sharon stepped aside once the gunnery sargeant marched them out, she stopped Mike when he was the last one out.
"I have two ideas, one train my men to use your weapons and myself, two, I will come down and meet the hightower after shift everyday and get pt training, if my men are going to do it, I will to." Sharon said.
"The training idea is fine, you sure you want to train with hightower, hes as hard as you can get." He said.
"I am, I don't want to be given special tratment because I am a female." She said with a grin.
Sharon left and headed to the bridge and sat down at her tactical station, she ran a diagnostic. They soon left earth and leapt to warp, then a birght light dragged them somewhere else, she held on for dearlife until they came to a stop.

Down in sickbay, Saryn shook his head a few times in an attempt to clear the dizziness. He'd nearly passed out when the ship had started to go haywire under his feet, when the pressure nearly became too much for even him. He knelt down beside an unconscious nurse, quickly checked her over then crawled over to Numike, who had also lost consciousness.
Carefully, he picked her up and placed her on one of the beds, hoping she'd be all right. Looking around, he saw several monitors blinking as though they'd been short-circuited. Using the biobed as leverage, he pulled himself up to his full height, finding that he was somewhat unsteady on his feet. He reached for a hypospray, checked the contents then pressed it against his arm. The fuzziness in his mind was instantly clearing up.
"Medical bay to engineering," he called as he reached the companel on the wall. "Please send someone down to repair my monitors, they are malfunctioning." He checked the nurse again and gave her a dosage of the same powerful stimulant he'd injected himself with, gave her brief instructions, then walked out.
The Vulcan froze as she stepped upon the bridge, gazing at the distorted image on the cracked viewscreen in openmouthed amazement. "What...is that?" he finally managed to ask, once he found his voice again. His gaze focused and settled on the captain. "Are there any injuries? My staff is shaken but they will be all right. I have taken medication against dizziness before coming up here, I strongly advise you to do the same."

What...is that?" Kirk heard the familiar sound of the Vulcan medicine man’s voice from across the disheveled bridge. Turning his head Kirk saw Saryn standing in what appeared to be shock, his eyes glued to damaged view screen with the distorted image of an alien ship on it.
“We’re trying to figure that out right now,” Kirk replied to Saryn’s open comment, “Problem is that we’ve lost a lot of systems and we’re running life support only on auxiliary power. If we could scan it, hail it, we would.”
"Are there any injuries? My staff is shaken but they will be all right. I have taken medication against dizziness before coming up here, I strongly advise you to do the same."
“I was a little dizzy earlier but it has passed for the most part. Can’t speak for the rest of the bridge crew though.”
Just as Kirk finished his sentence the helm officer rushed back onto the bridge from Kirk’s office, paper and pen in hand, “Sir if my calculations are correct we are going to hit that thing, it’s just a matter of time.”
“How long?”
“At this speed a few hours. Based upon the how close we are getting I would say we are traveling at about 1 / 4 impulse speed.”
“So that means our monitor is still working normally,” Kirk said to himself before turning his attention back to the helmsman, “Suggestions?”
“Well sir we only need a little boost to push us out of their way. If we could some how apply power to the pressurized shuttle bay and open it that alone might give us the push we need.”
“Do it.” Kirk said not wasting another second. He then turned to his good friend Jack sitting powerless at the communication station, “Anything?”
“No power equals no receiver and no transmitter.”
“From what I can tell our navigation lights are still on, what about mores code?” Kirk asked feeling the dizziness creeping back up.
“It would work as long as we spoke the same language.” Jack replied.
“Try English first, move on from there to all the languages that you know. Get somebody from Engineering to help you flash the navigational lights.”
Jack nodded in agreement and rushed off to try to make contact the ‘old fashioned’ way. Kirk then turned his attention on reading the ships MACO compliment and security officers, that job fell upon the rookie Armory officer Lieutenant J.G. Sharon Wolf.
“Lieutenant Wolf, I’ll assume the MACOs are already on high alert. Set them up in a deck by deck defensive posture. Team two MACOs up with one of your security officers. Place extra soldiers and guards on all our key systems. I don’t feel like allowing anybody to just be able to come on board and take what they want from us.”
Just as quickly as Kirk had issued the order Sharon was gone. He knew in the long run she would work out just like all the other officers on board. It just wasn’t an easy transition going from Helm to Armory. Truth was that he felt for the young Lieutenant, he had gone from Engineering to Command and had to do his fair share of on the job learning before things on board began to smooth out.
Deep in thought about everything that was going on with the Challenger at the moment, Kirk felt a cold object press against his neck. Instantly with the sound of a spray he felt his body and mind perk up, his dizziness fleeting almost instantly. Looking toward the sound and the sensations origin he found Saryn. He looked worst for ware but in generally good health.
“Do we know how the rest of the crew is doing? Reports have yet to reach my desk.”

OOC: If it's okay with everyone I'd like to hang round for a bit longer.
Morgan was pleased to be out of the Brig, however he was no pleased to discover that his first duty was to go entity-hunting. Still he followed the FO as they went to find out what had happened to the Captain. Morgan was surprised that the andorian managed to communicate with it but even more surprised with what happened next.
The entity began to fly from side to side then plunge itself into the bottom of the quarters. Morgan's stomach lurched a bit, the effect was somewhat similar to pulling gees during a tight manoeuvre. Morgan almost stayed on his feet as the Vesuvius lurched. It didn't feel like an attack and he didn't think there were any other pilots on board who would do something this crazy (starfleet wouldn't have assigned him to the ship if there were), so it had to be something else.
He lost his footing and his head connected with the deck. He was dimmly aware of being taken to sickbay and laid on a biobed but everything was fuzzy and dim. he heard a hiss and felt something against his neck then everything went black.

“That was better” halthor mentioned to himself after a good rest for the minutes remaining before he would be entering back on the bridge, he got up examined his data pad for a brief second, then walked out. Then walking up to Sonak, the andorian was interested in the vessel that had appeared on there view screen.
Nodding to her, he began to speak “So by the readings Larok had noticed that this seems to be an earth vessel with little recognition to the federation, but we also have been pushed back to 2158. Well before Captain Kirk and Spock. We will need to keep an eye on this vessel as well make sure it doesn’t make any quick and unusual movements.”
Sitting down next to her, he then spoke to larok “Larok get me some more readings on the shuttle ahead of us, see if you can try to get some life signs, and maybe get down to there molecular and subatomic analysis. If you can we can probably note some things about this earth vessel and connect it with ones of there time.” the andorian noted replied to Sonak.
“I would suggest that open conversation or communication with the vessel start upon first scanning the vessel, analyzing its contents, making sure it is not a hinderance to why we are here and also go through Starfleet history seeing what we might find on backlogs regarding our visitor from the earth time 2158 at Andromeda galaxy.” Vander noted.
“On that note, lets keep a close orbit on this vessel, I will be at medical if you need anything, to check up on our lt morgan. He seems to have taken a head concussion from the entity but im sure the staff at medical will see to his wounds.” Halthor replied then walked through the bridge then to the turbo lift making his way to medical bay.
Once he arrived he made his careful approach to sickbay. Walking in he found the navigations officer resting up after a successful procedure. “Hows the Lt.” Halthor replied. “He will be find, took a hit to the head but he will be fine, you can speak with him if you would like.” Lt. Sashi spoke. “I will do just that” the andorian replied “How are you Morgan”

Sitting at the station, duke continued his readings of the ship that was being projected on the view screen. It had appeared that some further analysis was needed, but with his skill in science and unique ability at the terminal he was able to fine tune many aspects of any ship that happened to cross there way on the challengers scanners.
He looked puzzled for the moment but looked through the reticle at his station, further data was being fed into the terminal as he had began looking in awe. “What in the world is that its not like any earth ship ive seen, but its got USS markings like that of a past vessel back on earth.” As duke continued to scan he got more in tune with the reticle as he had put both hands one on the left side and the other and the right adjusting the levels of zoom, and then scanner potential.
“What have we here, It looks like we have some humans, vulcans and andorians, Im going to have to report this to the captain immediately.” Duke replied to himself got out of his chair then walked up to Captain Kirk.
“Sir, a moment of your time” As the two of them walked away and into Kirk’s quarters, Duke replied. “Captain, I believe we have a earth vessel, identification USS Vesuvius-A, life signs, humans, vulcans and andorians. I would like to conclude that this would be a peace going ship with the following humanoid races aboard, as well as with the identification, if you would like to contact them yourself or would like further scans I would be glad to assist you in that matter.” Duke replied then the two of them walked out, Duke walked back to his station and the captain to his chair.
As the science officer sat down, he took a moment to breath and relax, then snap his fingers in place, spinning his chair, he put it back into position and got back to scanning the Vesuvius for further details.

~Andromeda Galaxy?~ Sonak gazed at her FO intently, wondering whether he was trying to pull a joke on her. However the young Andorian seemed quite serious, but still; she hadn't heard anyone call to her that astrometrics had figured out where they were.
She pointed at the main viewscreen, one of the few things still working properly on her main bridge. "She looks damaged," she stated obviously, just as the Vesuvius shuddered. "Report!"
"Discordia has detached," Thorad reported, "engaging tractorbeam to refrain her from floating away."
The Vulcan nodded. "See if you can hail the other vessel."
Thorad nodded. "I've got a connection but it's heavily distorted, as though they've got trouble receiving."
"Greetings, I am Commodore Sonak Reckus of the Federation Starship Vesuvius. Are you in need of assistance?" She rose from her seat and drew herself up to her full height. ~as if we do not need assistance~ she thought ~we have malfunctions all over the ship, a drifting module is the least of my concerns~

Reports had finally started to trickle in from many of the key stations on the ship, each report was hand written and for the first time in a long time Kirk signed each report with a real pen, not just one of those thin plastic PDA pencils.
Kirk did his best to smile at the young engineering officer that stood before him but with sweat dripping down his face and internal temperatures reaching upwards of eighty degrees he found it hard to be pleasant about anything.
“Ask Commander Wallace when he thinks our environmental controls will be back online.” Kirk told the junior engineering officer who had brought him the report. Just as she walked away Kirk added, “If he says anything longer than two hours tell him that I’m coming down to fix it myself.”
“Aye sir.”
Sir, a moment of your time” Duke McCalister, the Challenger’s Chief Science Officer said over Kirk’s shoulder. “Captain, I believe we have a earth vessel, identification USS Vesuvius-A, life signs, humans, Vulcans and Andorians. I would like to conclude that this would be a peace going ship with the following humanoid races aboard, as well as with the identification, if you would like to contact them yourself or would like further scans I would be glad to assist you in that matter.”
Kirk took a look down the sites of McCalister’s optical telescope and what he saw was very similar to what McCalister had described to him, “In my experience this far out in space Duke I doubt there are any peace going races. We’ll try and keep our distance for now. Keep my posted as to what you see.”
Walking back to his chair Kirk felt grossly overheated, his undershirt was saturated with sweat his arms perspired relentlessly and the water rations were making their rounds through out the ship at an agonizing pace.
“We’re getting something sir.” The junior communications officer that replaced Jack perked up at the sudden static over the COM, “I can get audio only and it’s heavily distorted.”
“Put it on.” Kirk ordered as he sat down in his chair.
"Greetings, I am Commodore Sonak Reckus of the Federation Starship Vesuvius. Are you in need of assistance?"
Vesuvius? Kirk thought as images of dead and dying Romans shot quickly through his head, “Greetings Commodore,” Kirk replied, “I’m Captain Andrew Kirk of the Earth Starship Challenger. We’re banged up pretty bad as we encountered a spacial anomaly that damn near tore my ship apart. We would be very grateful for any help you could give us. Over.”

she hadn't heard anyone call to her that astrometrics had figured out where they were.
After Fox had arrived and had seen the mess in astrometric he and the other officers started working immediately with getting the systems back online. All forgetting to report to the bridge about the status down there.
After some time Sonak called "Fox, status report please." Fox got up a little as he was laying under a console to repair the damage done, almost bumping his head. He tabbed his comm-badge. "Astrometrics is quite a mess Commodore. Main systems are being rebooted now, then we can chart the area." "Alright, Commander. Keep me informed. Sonak out." she replied.
Fox looked at one of the other officers there. "Now lets get this working again." he said as he connected some wires. The console lit up as soon as he did. Fox pulled himself from under the console and took place behind it, pressing a few buttons. Soon the huge screen showed many dots, all stars.
<about 15 minutes later> Fox tabbed his comm-badge "Fox to bridge, we're in 2158 alright. The computer has cross-referenced the what we're looking at here with all known starcharts. No simularities can be found, we really have gone where no one has gone before." "Affirmative Commander." was replied from the bridge.

Sonak nodded. "I will beam over to you," she conceded, "we cannot transport you here, temporal directive would be compromised as we are more advanced than you."
She turned, signaling Thorad. "Cloak Discordia manually, from your station if you cannot pull her back and redock her."
Thorad nodded, antennae twitching in anticipation. "Yes ma'am."
"Wait," the Vulcan interrupted, waving Harper over. "I need you to come with me to their vessel. Arm yourself. Larok, with me as well. Once Discordia is docked, signal Halthor to the bridge."
She turned back to the main viewscreen. "I will be beaming over in a party of three," she informed the Human on the other ship, though his image was severely distorted. "Logan will need to be informed as well. He has been ill and off duty but I do need him in main engineering right now. Mark, make sure he gets to engineering. And check on Halthor and Morgan for me. I should not be away long."
With Larok and Thorad in her wake, she hurried to the transporter room, and seconds later materialised on Challenger's battered bridge, startling the others present. Her combadge chirped. "Ma'am, we're reading an energy distortion, and a massive shockwave. Prepare for impact!" Harper's voice resounded.
"Acknowledged," she answered, though there was nothing to hold on to from where she was standing, other than a tall Vulcan. He caught her as he too fought for balance. "Thank you," she said softly, before regaining her composure. "Captain Kirk?" she queried, approaching the nearest Human, bearing yellow markings on his coverall.
She gestured to Thorad and Larok. "Please allow me to present Major Larok, my senior marine officer, and Lieutenant Thorad, my operations officer."
The Vulcan who had caught her barely suppressed a fierce scowl, and though his face was impassive she could she his jaw work in anger. She caught his fierce gaze, but she could see he wasn't Starfleet. However, she waited patiently for Kirk to introduce his staff.

Back on the Bridge of the Raven, Mc7 went straight to his ready room .. Carl checked the ships' readiness for departure .. Everyone was back aboard, with the notable exception of their Chief Operations Officer, Commander Ramius. He had 'chosen' to remain on Earth, stating personal reasons, requesting a leave of absence, he would hopefully return to the ship ....
"Sir .." the Duty Opps Officer said, "We have a docking request from the Medical shuttle Piper .. She's been assigned to us."
Carl frowned for a second, but then realized that a medical shuttle would be more than useful in some difficult situations ..
"Permission granted." Carl said, "Put the aft view on screen, let's have a look at our new arrival." he said, sitting in the Captains' seat ..
"Commander .." the duty Comm Officer said suddenly, "There's a 'PRIORITY MESSAGE' coming in from Star Fleet headquarters .. For the Admiral."
Put it through to his ready room." Carl said, then realizing how tired he was, and considering that he'd be informed if t involved the Raven, he stood, heading for the turbo-lift .. "I'll be in my quarters if needed .. You have the Con Mister McLean." ..........

After the shockwave past, Kirk brought himself to his feet as did the rest of his staff and guests. They were all in unfamiliar territory and despite very similar appearances he didn’t exactly trust the Vulcan’s open arms approach, especially since they came aboard the Challenger armed, but at the same time he couldn’t resist the help they could offer.
Without thinking much on introductions Kirk called out, “Report.”
“Not sure sir what that was sir.” McCalister called back.
“Captain, I’m picking up something. It appears to be another ship.” Lt. JG Wolf informed her commanding offer of her findings.
“Put it on screen.” Kirk ordered.
While the order was accomplished Kirk turned back to his trio of guests, “I’m sorry but due to the damage my ship has received I don’t have any of my department heads available to properly recieve you.” Kirk was short and to the point and he hoped his guest could understand given the situation the Challenger was in, “But whatever help you can give I’d be willing to except.”

*As the Commodore, Larok and Thorad materialized on the bridge of the Challenger. Larok's tricorder began to beep; as he opened it and studied the new readings Sonaks comm badge beeped and Mr Harper stated: Ma'am, we're reading an energy distortion, and a massive shock wave. Prepare for impact!" : Larok looked for support and as the shock wave shifted the bridge the Commodore was thrown against a tall Vulcan from the past, Larok noticed the barely suppressed anger from the Vulcan and Larok steeped between Sonak and grabbing the Vulcan's arms pinning them to his side. Larok whispered so low only the Vulcan and Sonak could hear.*
Larok: You should control your emotions better in front of visitors who only wish to offer you assistance as well as fire and water.
*Sonak regained her balance and turned to see Larok immobilize and admonish the other Vulcan.*
Sonak: Mr Larok stand down.
Larok: Aye Aye mam. *Larok released the other Vulcan and stepped back several paces toward the side of the view screen where he could cover the whole bridge.

Walking up to Lt Morgan “Good to hear your alright, I wanted to check up on you and make sure you were doing well with the medical staff available as we only have few aboard at this time. If you’d like and feel up to it you can make your way back to the bridge as long as the assistant medical officer has cleared you. I will be heading to the bridge and will see about contacting this newest vessel.” Halthor responded then left morgan to attend to himself with the medical staff, while he left he saw morgan smile then wave, as the door slid shut, Halthor made his way to the nearest turbo lift and made his way to the bridge.
“So Sonak has made her leave as well as Larok, I hope they were thinking well in the best interests of Starfleet before they made that decision. Well in terms of survival I can grant them this once, I always log everything, but as a Starfleet officer it is my job to uphold the rules and supervisions that the united federation of planets coincides with, so with further ado, I’ll merely forget this instance that all three crewmember took it upon themselves to disobey a temporal directive and followed the rules of survival, if it happens again I will have to log it for necessary circumstances and not for just cause.” Halthor mentioned to himself as he walked to his seat getting the latest report from the communications officer.
Tapping the terminal the andorian commander replied “Commander Logan, how is engineering at the moment, are we performing at optimal levels or do you need more time to adjust for temporal deficiencies.” as the comm remained silent for the moment he sat and waited for a minute then listened for the communication to come in “Well it appears the warp core was beaten up pretty badly, she’s gonna need some fine tuning as well as some secondary and primary power adjustments, but with three or four days I can get her back in prime shape.”, “Excellent Commander continue your work, keep me informed of your progress further, if any deficiencies arrise you will make sure im kept apprised.”
Looking over at the Communications Officer, Halthor nodded then spoke “Due to all these temporal wakes were going to need extra power to communications to get our communique out to commodore sonak and the away team. Can you do this for me?” then Ensign ritan spoke “yes sir, amplifying now, if you would like I can send your communication out now.”, “Please do” as Halthor noted he began to speak again this time through the terminal for the communique. “Commodore Sonak, How are things holding up out over at the Challenger, I have been reading energy disruptions several times over on this end, are you alright as well as the crew, I have made it to the bridge and Morgan checks out fine, Logan is currently working on the warp core but the ships gonna need some repairs for the mean time.”

Looking at his optical scanner some more duke began to get a closer view of something more interesting. “Another ship, they just keep coming, I don’t have a designation quite yet as its not that definable but what I can say for solid measure is we now have two ships one that we already have found and another that has just appeared.” Duke noted sitting back wondering if he might be in some kind of weird paradox where something like ships from all sorts of dimensions would just miraculously pop out of space and continue to form in the space time continuum just like a big bang.
Taking his eyes out of the scanner he looked over at the newest visitor aboard the challenger it was another vulcan. [limegreen] She gestured to Thorad and Larok. "Please allow me to present Major Larok, my senior marine officer, and Lieutenant Thorad, my operations officer." [/limegreen] “Well nice to meet you Commodore Sonak, Major Larok and Thorad, names Duke McCalister, Commander, Chief Science Officer, we both have seemed to run into a predicament havent we.”
“Your clothing looks rather strange for someone whose of a designation of a USS vessel. I’ve never seen such clothing but its interesting to say the least to meet new people, another vulcan, we have Saryn our Doctor, he’s very talented at what he does, if you need medical assistance im sure he would be glad to help. I can provide scientific knowledge on star systems and chemicals and different scientific breakthroughs.” Walking up to Larok “Interesting your clothing looks different from the others its green and theres is just the standard uniform, any unique significance with a marine.” Duke replied.
Making his round he was keen at making identifications and gathering knowledge very quickly about those who were near him, give him time and he might know everything about them and there society, that’s what made him a science officer. As he noted many aspects of details he also wanted to bring it upon himself to stay cool and not bring up a fight because he was not the strong witted type. Standing still he waited for the individuals on the bridge to make there stance.

Beep ...
Carl turned over, somewhere, his sub-conscious could tell he was being signaled, but tiredness was winning ..
Beep ...
In that state, between sleep and wakefulness, Carl heard the Comm again ..
Beep ...
Awake now, lying on his back he sighed, then tapped his Comm badge.
=^= Go ahead =^= he said.
=^= Sorry to disturb you Sir but we have been requested to change our orbit .. We're still geo-stationary above the Presidents' residence =^=
=^= Move us to a parking orbit .. Has the Wolf left yet ? =^=
=^= They're set to leave in the next thirty minutes Commander =^=
=^= OK .. Thank you =^=
Torek closed the Comm and got off the bed ... Fifteen minutes later he was back on the Bridge.
Earth was much further away on the view-screen now they were in a higher orbit. Torek looked at the door to the Admiral's office as he sat down.
"The Admiral still in there ?" he asked the duty Operations Officer.
"Yes Sir."
"Right ..." Carl said, "Open a Comm to the USS Wolf."
"Comm open."
Captain Worthing appeared on the massive view-screen. She smiled as she saw Torek in the Command chair.
=^= Promotion .. Captain =^= she said, grinning.
=^= Hardly." Carl replied, "I just wanted to wish you and the Wolf God speed. I hear you are leaving orbit for your next assignment soon =^=
=^= We're leaving now actually .. God speed to you and the Raven Commander .. Say farewell to the Admiral for me .. I'm pleased things worked out the way they did .. Wolf out =^=
The image on screen changed, and Carl could see the Nova Class USS Wolf bank to starboard, then slowly move out of orbit.
He was hoping that the Admiral was going to tell them they had a mission to go to ... He'd never been one for sitting on his hands ..........

Jonathan had spent the better part of his free down on Earth, looking at the places his parents called home, hearing stories from friendly relatives who were not afraid of his past but were eager to hear about the mythological beast known as the Borg. Instead of fearing the man who stood before them they felt a great sense of triumph, for it showed these sheltered family members that the Borg were not all powerful and people could return from the dead.
His orders came in shortly before the USS Wolf departed. He was called into the Captain’s ready room where conversation with the Captain Worthington was brief but she wished him well and hoped they would cross paths again in the future.
“Commander Kirk to the Raven.”
“Go ahead Commander.”
“One to beam up.”
Once on the Raven the former engineer from the Wolf walked briskly through the corridors of the Raven to meet with Commander Torek, the Raven’s Executive officer and one of the men he remembered seeing at the Presidential office.
The bridge on the Raven was much more impressive in person then from a flat two-dimensional view screen on the USS Wolf. First, it was massive compared to the bridge aboard the USS Wolf and other smaller starships Kirk had been stationed on. Secondly it was busy with officers rushing about, each with their own station and job to attend to. It might have been because they were in Earth’s orbit, but everybody stepped a little quicker when they crossed the bridge.
Earth stood as the dominant feature on the main view screen. He wondered quietly if everybody needed to see home as much as possible before the Raven went back to Section 47. Kirk approached Commander Torek, who was sitting in the center chair and once in his line of site he stood with respect to the Commander but by no means at attention.
“Commander Torek, permission to hitch a ride with the Raven back to Starbase Bellicose.”

What had just happened had a dire effect on all of the ship's systems. He had already concluded that he would need to replace half of the new dilithium crystals and repair almost every console aboard the ship. When the rest of the repair teams realized this they made sure to keep away from Jack, who was cursing loudly.
"Commander, where should we begin?" an engineer bravely asked of the communications officer.
"I want the engines and navigations back on line," Jack said offering the brave engineer a genuine smile. It seemed that the veterans aboard the Challenger were not brave enough to face Jack when he was in one of his moods.
"Cole, where is Commander Wallace?" Jack asked surprised that the first officer and chief engineer had not arrived yet.
"Scott said that he was injured pretty badly," Cole responded," it seems he is out of commission for a while."
"Alright, you and Scott will take over duties of Chief Engineer," Jack said as he threw a piece of junk into the pile that had been started for recycling. Hopefully they would be able to salvage something from everything that was ruined. "Cole report to me within the hour, I need to go check in with the captain."
"Jack to Andy, the ship is a complete mess," Jack said over the comm forgetting that by now his best friend would be talking to the people from the strange ship," it's going to take at least a week to get everything taken care of. Mike was also injured during that jump we did, he's currently in sickbay."
