T'Val froze when Ji'Zhan touched her, she never liked it when he did that, especially when he did it uninvited. Of course, she knew he meant well and that he only meant to ease her grief and suffering and it worked, to some extend. However, she needed to overcome this alone, with her mate and her ex-mate.
When he abrubtly was torn away from her, T'Val's legs gave under her and Stuart had to jump forwart to help her regain her balance. She cast him a grateful glance, though tears still flowed freely, even though she had fallen completely silent. Together, the listened as Kale ranted at Ji'Zhan and strip him of everything he had earned and worked for.
Something snapped inside her when she was witness to this verbal abuse. "No," she said coldly, as Ji'zhan ordered for Kale to be taken away. "Leave him for now." She walked up to be face to face with Kale, though she had to stand at the very tip of her toes to do so. Yade circled about her, warbling in fury, echoing the cold fury of her mistress.
A whistle from Stuart made the green firelizard stand down and settle on Stuarts shoulder, though her eyes kept whirling fast in a deep red shade, the colour of alarm. Meanwhile, T'Val still stood face to face with the Debrune High Priest, her eyes flashing in fury, even more so since tears were still pouring from them. "How dare you," she told him, her voice low and threatening, "how dare you threaten the only man who ever had my child's well being at heart. Where were you when he was ill? Where were you when he took his first steps? Said his first words? Ji'Zhan was there for us whenever we needed advice from a Debrune person. Debrune, other than myself."
She saw Kale glare down at her in comtempt, heard him made a scoffing sound. "You did not know that did you?" she went on, "you have not done your homework properly then High Priest Kale, because the late and revered Elder Jak'Dor discovered my heritage when I first came to him with the Holy Child. When we had him checked for diseases by a Debrune medical team. I have not made this fact public, for that is a private affair, for me to disclose only."
She stepped up even closer to him. "Had you not meddled in this your eminence, then the child still be safely in my care. Then we would not have seen the need to bring him to safety, out of your greedy hands. If anyone is to blame, it is you. Never Elder Ji'Zhan. He is like family, trusted by my family and trusted by Starfleet. To D'Beren, he was Uncle Ji'Zhan...something you would never be if you had carried out your plans. Had you been there from the start, helping out, then perhaps you would have had that. But not now, not ever. You have made two simple farmers miserable, and you have ruined any happiness for me in raising a child. I have no children of my own, and it is doubtful that I ever will."
She felt Ji'Zhan and Stuart both pull her away from the High Priest, though gently and she let them. "You are to blame," she repeated, engrossed in her fury, "and only you."
