T`Caph : =/\= Admiral, we have a situation. Transmitting comms message from the station to you now. I must apologise for the timing of the maintanance work which will hamper resolving this unexpected and unusual problem....=/\=
"Acknowledged, T'Caph. I'll take the message here on the bridge."
As T'Caph transferred the transmission, the face of the station's security chief appeared on the large viewscreen.
"Admiral Elron, I'm sorry to bother you at this time. I'm Commander Packard and I'm in charge of security on Outpost 329."
"What seems to be the problem, Commander?" Elron asked him with a concerned frown.
"Don't worry - it's nothing to do with your crew. I was actually wondering if you could help us solve a problem we have here..."
"Well of course, Commander, how can we be of assistance?"
Packard paused here, as if wondering how to phrase his next words.
"Some of the personnel on this station are civilians who run local businesses to service and entertain the assigned staff. One of these is a small catering business run by a family, a husband and wife with their young son. The parents of this boy have recently reported him missing, and we have reason to believe he may have tried to get aboard your ship."
"When was the last time the boy was seen?"
"Well, his parents have been so busy catering for the increased numbers over here that they haven't seen him since this morning. Reports claim he was last seen on the docking ring around 1340."
That was 3 hours ago Elron thought to himself. The boy could be anywhere by now.
"I'll get my Chief of Security right on it. I'm afraid the timing isn't very good as our internal sensors are offline for maintenance. I don't expect them to be available again for quite some time. If he is on the ship though, we'll find him."
"Thankyou Admiral Elron. The parents are most upset, so any help you can offer is greatly appreciated."
"Incidentally, Commander, how old is this boy?"
Cmdr Packard checked his notes. "He's just turned 11 years old."
"I'll contact you personally the minute we know anything. Elron out."
The Commander smiled and disappeared from the viewscreen. Elron decided to inform Beth straight away."Elron to security, there's something I need you to do for me..."
OFF: Rob, the day I let someone else fly the Captain's Yacht is the day I've been forcibly retired! I consider the Socrates my own personal property! ;D
Unless you have an emergency of your own planned, you may continue your journey to Bellicose. This is something the security department can handle by itself.
