T`Caph continued taking tricorder scans in the jeffries tube while awaiting Bethany`s arrival. It seemed the child had entered a turbolift shaft and climbed down then rested here. It did not bear thinking about, what could have happened if a lift had been activated at the time the boy was climbing the rungs !
T`Caph found the point where he had exited the tube but after that the trail was confusing. She had isolated his DNA for the tricorder but it was showing him as having gone in several directions at once. Of course, every time a crew member had walked that area, the slightest particle - a follicle, a skin cell - it would then be carried on their shoes or as dust so there was no way to utilise the tricorder from this point. Bethany was going to have a potentially laborious task to find a small child on such a large ship, especially with so few crew aboard which would limit possible sightings. T`Caph did not envy the security officer the task - not that Vulcans felt envy anyway of course !
T`Caph had an idea. The child would most likely use replicators when his food supply ran out. Therefore it was logical to take all replicators offline....
T`Caph : Computer, deactivate all replicators until further notice. Do not reactivate with out my express permission
Computer : Acknowledged. Replicators are now offline
That may help flush him out she thought.....
Elron : =/\= T`Caph, there seems to be a problem with my replicator. I had just ordered a bowl of food and it - well, there is rather a mess ! =/\=
T` Caph responded, explaining what she had done, and made a mental note to ensure replicators were not in use at the time of deactivation in the future !

Elron stared down at what was supposed to be a bowl of lembas. 'Mmm, just like mum used to make' he said sarcastically to himself with a curled lip.
Sitting down at his desk, he contacted the Outpost's security chief on the recently established comm link in his quarters. It was a short conversation to let him know that the boy was indeed on board the Tulip and that his CTSO and CEO were working together on locating him. Secure in the knowledge that the boy's family could stop worrying now, he was about to search for some fresh food when he was contacted by the bridge. =/\= Admiral, we have an incoming transmission from the runabout USS Insert. Cmdr Gauthier wishes to speak with you directly. =/\= "Acknowledged; I'll accept it here," Elron replied, not wishing to make the journey all the way back up to the bridge.
"Admiral!" Cmdr Gauthier's face appeared agitated on the small comm screen in Elron's quarters. "I received a distress call from the USS Zukov and immediately plotted an intercept course. On arrival I found the ship severely damaged, with 17 life boats launched." "Have you been able to retrieve any survivors yet?" asked Elron with a concerned frown. "Yes, sir. We need better medical support though. I'm bringing the survivors back to the Outpost." "Good idea. I'll inform our medical teams to be prepared to help treat the wounded. Do you need us to rendevouz with you?" "No, I can be there shortly on the Insert." "Alright, Commander. Contact me as soon as you get here." "Aye, sir," nodded the FO. "Gauthier out."
Elron sat back and hoped that they would make it back safely. The Zukov was a strong ship. What could have caused her crew to abandon ship and leave so much damage...

2 hrs later, Shuttlebay, USS Black Tulip
He had dropped the survivors off at the Outpost and was now docking with the USS Black Tulips shuttlebay, Only 25, 25 out of 500, Robert thought to himself. He looked over to see Liz sitting beside him. She had refused to be treated at the Outpost, she said that she knew if anything was going to be done, it would happen on the Tulip, and she wasn't going to miss that. The Runabout finished docing and Robert stepped off. He needed to take Liz to sickbay. They walked down the corridore and onto a turbo lift.
10 minutes later, Sickbay, USS Black Tulip
Dr. Storey examined Lt cmdr. Kain

OFF: I was in Sickbay commander, just sorting out my office as the Acting Ensign walked in I will also post this on the mission thread ON: Since everyone was on the starbase, John had decided to sort out his office to make it more welcoming. He had his mum's Scone recipe and he programed it into the replicator. Hepressed a button and the computer bleeped *Replicators are Offline* "Damnit!" he said John walked out of his office, and he walked to his console and worked dillengtly, he was working so hard he didn't noticed Actin Ensign Jenkins come in until he said "Dcotor, I'm here for my physical."John spun around and said, "Very Well, please sit down on that biobed" John motioned over towards it and the new crewman sat down eager to get it over with. John picked up his tricorder and pulled out the scanner and scanned him. "Have you been suffereing any ailments?" "None""Are you sure?" "Yes very""Okay, please lie down" He did and John pressed some buttons on the side and the sides whooshed up. John pressed some mroe buttons for a detailed scan. He put his scanner back into his tricorder and walked over to the trolley and placed down. As soon as he done this the bio bed bleeped, telling him that the scans had been completed. He pressed some more buttons and the sides came down "Thank you, your are as healthy as a horse, but do remember to come to see me if you have any problems, understood?" "Yes sir""Thank you, you can go now" With that the Acting Ensign walked out and John got his stuff together and headed to transporter room one.

Once the Doctor had finished his examination Leo decided that he would head to his quarters and get his things straightened out. He still had 30 minutes before his first shift started, so he hmay as well make good use of them. As the turbolift doors opened he walked into the small lift and instructed it to go to deck 4, where his quarters were loacted. The 'lift slowed to a stop after a short ride and the doors opened to reveal a corridor almost exactly the same as the one he had just left. That's one thing, Leo thought ot himself, Starfleet sure does like it's symatry.
As he walked along the corridor he had to keep looking to the small signs on each of the doors, to make sure he arrived at the right set of quarters. After a 5 minute search, he came across the sign that said 'Jenkins, Leo. COO.' With that, he keyed in his personal code, and the doors opened to reveal his new home. He entered and see that his boxes had been brought up from the transporter room. He would have to remember to thank the transporter cheif when he next saw her.
It took him less time than he thought it would to unpack, and make the sparten room feel like somewhere he could begin to call home, so he decided to go for a sonic shower, to make sure he looked his best when he first reported to the Bridge. He striopped off and went into the small bathroom area and showered. As left left the shower he wrapped a towl area him and crossed back into living area of his quarters, to see osomething that surprised and shocked him. Who the hell are you? the acting ensign asked to the person in his quarters, who was clearly only a boy. Before the boy had a chance to answer, Leo called security, and asked them to come to his quarters, and by the sounds of there reply, they knew more about the situation than he did.
"So you wanna tell me what your doing in my quarters lil man?" the officer asked the intruder. The boy looked around like a trapped animal desperatly searching for an escape route. As there was no other route avaiable, the boy done exactly what a corned animal would do, and went straight towards the obsticle. Leo was taken aback by the charge, and lost his footing as the boy rushed past him and out the door of his quarters. Because of the surprise of the chage he didn't have a chance to brace himself, he went over on his ankle and let out a grunt of pain. "Jenkins to sickbay. I'm in my quarters, and I think my ankles broken. Could soeone come up and have a look please?" As soon as he signed off the comm the security officers arrived, and he told them what happened.
OFF: I thought I'd try and work myself into the missing boy thread. Hope this is ok!

"Jenkins to sickbay. I'm in my quarters, and I think my ankles broken. Could soeone come up and have a look please?" John's com badge twirped "On my way" He said, and he rushed out of his office and grabbed his medikit and tricorder. He walked into corridor, and started to run towards the turbolift, He reached it in a skid, and panted "deck 4" he slowly regained his breath and walked out. He ran towards the Acting Ensign's Quarters.
When he reached the quarters, he pulled out his tricorder, and scanned the young Ensign "Yes deffaintly broken bone, is this your first?" "Yes" "Well don't worry i'll have you fixed up sharpish," John pressed the hypospray to his leg and he heard a hiss. He removed the hypospray and hoisted him up onto his shoulder. "I'll get you to sickbay, and on the way you can tell me what happened" John smiled at him. On the way from his quarters Leo told John what had happened. John listened and took it all in. They had just reached sickbay when Leo finished his story.
Leo laid on a BioBed, and John went into his office, and tapped his com badge and said =/\="Doctor Storey, to Ensign Hill and Commander T'Caph, please come to sickbay immedialty"=/\=
John closed his com channel and sat on his chair, he would need to use that "suit" again. He hated that. John sat and looked about waiting for T'Caph and Bethany to come.

T`Caph :: puzzled :: On my way Doctor.
The Engineer walked along toward sickbay, wondering what the problem was. He had commed for Bethany Hill as well. Could the boy have been found, injured perhaps ? It could not be that she thought - there was no logical reason for calling ehr there if that were the case.
She entered sickbay to the sound of wailing babies which Holi was tending as fast as she could. It appeared the triplets required feeding at the same time and as advanced a technology as Holi is, even a holographic pair of hands can not feed three babies in tandem !
Shutting her mind to the noise, she approached the Doctor.
Storey : Ah, there you are. Commander T`Caph, this is Acting Ensign Leo Jenkins. He has just come aboard and already has broken his ankle !
Leo : Hey Doc, I did`nt break it on my own you know, I had a little help !
T`Caph : Welcome aboard Mr Jenkins, what happened to cause your injury ?
Leo : Thank you Commander, good to be here. I went to my new quarters and there was a young boy there. He was frightened and knocked me over so here I am. I did not think there were families aboard the Black Tulip ?
T`Caph : There are not, aside from the Security Officers newborns. She gave birth just after her arrival.
Storey : I commed her as well as yourself have you seen her ?
T`Caph : I have not. As I understood it, she was leaving you to come to my previous position when you made contact. She should have arrived before me.
Storey : You are quite right ! She brought the babies for Holi to mind, then was on her way to you straight from here. Most puzzling !
T`Caph : Perhaps there was another sighting in the meantime which she may have diverted to, or some other diversion en-route
Storey : =/\= Sickbay to Bethany Hill, are you on your way ? =/\= ..................
There was no response. Doc, T`Caph and Leo looked at each other, all confused as to her lack of respomse.
Liz : Doctor ?
Storey : Excuse me, I have a patient to see to. I won`t be long.
Leo :: looking toward Liz, then whispering :: Is everyone accident prone on this ship ?
T`Caph :: a little distracted :: I do not know her. She is not a member of this crew. Perhaps she is from the star base. I do not know. I must try to contact security again ... =/\= T`Caph to Ensign Hill.....Ensign Hill, report =/\=
There was silence again. Something was not right. With internal sensors offline she could not even have the computer locate Bethany.
T`Caph : The Doctor will be back to you shortly. I will try to locate Ensign Hill
She motioned to the Doctor and explained that she was going to try and find Bethany but intended to be back shortly. Leaving sickbay, she headed for the bridge. As she walked along she saw a familiar face just before he bumped into her as he turned forward, having just said a friendly hello to a crewmate in the corridor. She realised why the face was familiar - she recalled seeing his image on the crew manifest, having looked him up because she had heard him spoken of, but they had not met until now.
Bema then looked bemused, wondering what had been said about him but before he had chance to respond, T`Caph spoke again
T`Caph : Have you just come from the bridge ?
Bema : I have yes, why do you ask ?
T`Caph : I am trying to locate the security officer, Ensign Hill
Bema : Ah yes, she was there
T`Caph : Thank you
She left Bema standing there open mouthed as she quickly turned and walked toward the bridge.
" What`s with her ? ", Bema said under his breath. Something was obviously in the air. He decided his quarters could wait and headed back to the bridge not far behind T`Caph The Vulcan entered and looked around. Bethany was nowhere to be seen. So, she approached Elron who was most surprised when asked where the Ensign was.
Elron : Why, she is right.......well, she * was * right over ther. She must have just left.
T`Caph : I did not pass her on my way here.
Bema : She did`nt pass by me and I had only just left here myself. Whats going on ?
T`Caph : She is not answering her comm and I cannot locate her via the computer while internal sensors are offline.
Elron : to all on the bridge : Did anyone see Ensign Hill leave here ?
Everyone shook their heads and turned back to their work. The Admiral put his hand to his chin and looked thoughtful
Elron :: looking serious :: It seems we have a mysterious vanishing on our hands. I want the ship searched from top to bottom. We have a stowaway who does not want t be found and a security officer who needs to be found. Get to it people !

OOC: I'm not even going to dwell on the fact that Leo was knocked over by an 11-year-old boy. Lol ;D
IC:
Elron sat with his chin resting on his hand as he stared at the viewscreen before him. This shore-leave was turning out to be a little less relaxing than he had hoped, but then that was always the way of things on the Tulip. He was used to it by now.
=/\= Sickbay to the bridge =/\=
Elron sat up as the hail came over the partially-restored comm system. "Go ahead, Doctor." =/\= Sir, I've just heard from Ensign Hill. It seems she's had an accident in a maintenance shaft. I wasn't able to assertain her exact position before she broke off communication, and she's not responding to my calls. In her current condition she needs to be treated immediately, so I'm sending teams out to locate and retrieve her. =/\= "Understood. Let me know as soon as you have her." =/\= I also have Ensign Jenkins here just now. =/\= "Oh? What's happened to him, is he alright?" =/\= It seems he came into contact with the boy in his quarters. He was caught off-guard. =/\=
Elron thanked heaven that Leo wasn't his security chief. "John, I'd like my senior staff back in one piece as soon as you can. I'm ordering the entire security department to get to work on finding this boy. The sooner we can get him off the ship, the less my officers will get injured!" =/\= Aye, sir, I'll do my best. Storey out. =/\=
Elron began to wonder if he should go down to Sickbay. That's where everybody seemed to be anyway, and he hadn't had a chance to properly welcome Leo Jenkins yet. The Admiral seemed have spent as much time in Sickbay over the last couple of weeks as he had in the entire 4 years of his assignment on the Tulip. He hoped this wasn't a sign of things to come...

2 hrs after arrival, Cmdr. Gauthier's Quarters, USS Black Tulip
Robert stood infront of the tall mirror, making sure his tunic was stright before inspecting his boots to make sure they glizzened like glass. some officers polished their boots aftifically with a machine, but Robert still chose to do it by hand, it gave it that inperfect touch that things sometime lacked in this era.
He moved to the door his padd at his side, it had taken him hours to make this report for the Admiral but he had finally finished it. He stepped up his pace down the corridor to reach the turbolift before it passed. he made it just as it was coming by. the doors opened and he looked up from the ground to see Liz, the cut above her head had healed but she still looked tired.
"i thought you'd need a lift", she said motioning to the lift.
"Thanks", Robert said stepping onto the lift, "Deck 1, Bridge
The command automatic shut the doors and the lift buzzed up the shaft to the bridge.
Seconds Later, Bridge, USS Black Tulip
The turbolift doors opened with a wiz and Cmdrs Gauthier and Kain stepped off, and moved to Admiral Elron's ready room door.
Robert pushed a button signaling his wish to enter, and from inside came the normal, "come in!"

Ensign Hill was missing, John was getting flustered. This was twice that a Senior Staff member had been hurt. The security teams where on alert, and John had given them orders to beam Ensign Hill straight to sickbay.
John was walking up and down his sickbay. If there was carpet, he would've worn it thin by now.
John stopped when he heard the hum of the transporter, he ran and grabbed his tricorder, he fumbled with the scanner and finally pulled it free. He saw Ensign Hill, materialise on the bio bed, and he rushed over to her.
Commander T'Caph was with her and she got off the bio bed.
"Thank you Commander, please leave" T'Caph left and John scanned Bethany.
"Concussion, asphyxiation. She'll be fine, 4 cc's of ADTH and 3 cc's of hypodrenaline" The nurse passed John the hypospray and the vials of medicines. john, in turn, loaded each one and pressed it against her neck. He heard a hiss. John looked at Bethany.
"Bethany?" Beth's eyes flickered open and John smiled "Welcome back Beth, everything is fine" "Where am i?" "You are in sickbay Beth," she went to get up "Don't get up too quick" She say up "Thank you Doctor" she said and got off the bed "Now, you go straight to your quarters and get some rest. I am relieveing you of duty for the next day. Do you understand me?" "Yes Doctor" "Now, go to your quarters, i'll bring your children up" She smiled at left Sickbay.
=/\="Storey to Admiral elron, Bethany is safe, she has recovered and is spending a day in her quarters"=/\=

"Acknowledged Doctor. I'll co-ordinate the security teams myself from the bridge. We believe we have the child trapped in cargo bay 3 now. Elron out."
Down in Cargo Bay 3, security was systematically working its way forwards, preventing the boy from escaping and forcing him to retreat to the rear of the bay.

Leo hobbeled out of Sickbay after the Doc had exmained his leg and done his best to fix it. He decided to go back to his quarters and put his uniform on before heading to the Bridge, as turning up for his first duty shift late, as well as in a towel wouldn't go down too well with teh Admiral. As he walked along the corridor, he couldn't help but notice the crewmen he passed stare at him, even if they were trying to be subtle about it. Wonder what there so interested in? he thought to himself. It took him a few minutes, but then he realised what had caught there interest. It wasn't every day you seen the newest member of the senior staff limp down the corridor in only a towl. Leo kept in shape, and had a fairly nice body, but he wasn't once for showing it off, so the thought of this quicken his pace.
As he approached his quarters the door opened, and he entered and went straight to the bathroom area to get the uniform he layed out there before going for his shower. Suddenely there was an almighty scream, and Leo looked up to see a naked woman in the sonic shower. Leo quickly looked away, trying to preserve what little dignity both he and the woman had remaining. He backed up as quickly as his newly healed leg would allow him, and then it hit him. These weren't his quarters. He left the womans quarters, and as the door closed he noticed that it was Cabin 3/36, not 3/37. He made his way to the next door, and when he got there checked the Cabin number and made sure his name was on the door before entering.
When he got in he slumped in a chair and though to himself, What a way to start my new posting!

T`Caph headed to Cargo Bay 3 where the boy had apparently been cornered. Were it not for the maintainance work on the internal sensors, he would have been found within moments of his appearance aboard the ship. She made a mental note to design a back-up program for the systems for future maintainance occurences !
She entered the bay and saw several personnel moving toward one area which had many containers stacked high, providing plenty of hiding spaces, but no matter, the boy was well and truly trapped. There were no jeffries tube exits in that section of the bay. As she passed through the door, she set the door pad so that it could not be opened again without having to be keyed manually so at least the child could not slip past now.
The Vulcan heard one of the security team speak so she went over to him to ascertain the current status of the situation.
T`Caph : What of the boy ?
Security : He appears very frightened - we heard him crying a little. I have just been informed his mother has transported aboard. Admiral Elron and Commander Gauthier are on their way to meet her and will be here shortly. As we have no Counsellor available, we felt it would be less frightening for the boy if his mother coaxes him out rather be rushed at then grabbed by us.
T`Caph : That is logical. I will wait with you here for their arrival. Might I suggest that some food be placed in an unobtrusive position for the boy ? He will be very hungry as the replicators have been offline to help flush him out.
Security : Good idea Commander
T`Caph walked over to the nearest replicator and gave the computer authorisation to activate it. She ordered some food and took it to the security officer.
Security : Tutti Frutti Ice Cream with sprinkles ?
T`Caph : Not nutritionally substantial perhaps, however, I am led to believe small children can not resist this particular foodstuff. It will make it clear that we have no hostile intent.
The security officer chuckled and took the dish then passed it to another officer to place close to the boys position, well out of sight of the crew so that the boy may realise it was safe to take it.
And so, the crew awaited the boys mother patiently.

The woman who stepped off the transporter pad was dressed smartly but modestly. The look of awe on her face as she gazed around her made it clear to the two officers that she hadn't been on a ship like this before. "M'am, I'm Admiral Elron. I'm pleased to say that we've found your son. He's down in one of our cargo bays at the moment. I have security staff keeping him contained in there, but we don't want to frighten him any more than he already is so they're keeping their distance. We'd like your help to coax him out.""Is he OK, is he hurt?" she asked worriedly. "As far as we can tell he is fine, though some of our officers haven't been quite as fortunate," replied Robert. She looked at him regretfully and lifted her hands in a gesture of apology. "I hope he hasn't caused you any trouble?!""Don't worry," smiled Elron reassuringly, "we've faced tougher nemeses than your son." He laughed amicably, but the woman was clearly not ready to relax yet. They continued down to the cargo bay and before long reached the entrance. OFF: I'll finish this post soon, unless someone else would like to take over? I don't mind.

Everyone present stepped back to allow the boys mother through. T`Caph watched as the mother tentatively walked toward the containers, softly saying her sons name. It was silent in the large Bay, apart from her gentle tones as she asked him to come out. Finally she stood with her arms wide and the sobbing boy ran to her. The mothers eyes filled with tears of relief as she said over and over that she was sorry he had felt so bad as to run away from home, as well as tears of gratitude that he had at least stowed away on a ship with a non-hostile crew. She knew she would spend many a night thinking of how it could have turned out otherwise.
Her arm wrapped tightly around her son, she led him toward Admiral Elron and apologised again for all the time her son had taken from his crew. The little boy finally whispered to his mother, asking if the man he had knocked over was alright, and the woman who had fallen in the shaft - he had`nt meant anyone to get hurt. He was shaking now, his tears falling uncontrollably as his big blue eyes looked at Elrons expression

The look on the boy's face melted Elron's heart. Sensing it was up to him to console the boy and accept his apology, he beckoned Dr Storey over to them. "This is our Chief Medical Officer, Doctor Storey," he said to the boy. "Doctor, could you please tell the young man how our officers are doing?"
"Leo Jenkins is back on duty after minor treatment, and Ensign Hill suffered no lasting injuries. She'll be back on duty soon as well."
"There, you see?" he said reassuringly to the young boy. "You haven't done any permanent damage and no-one was seriously hurt." The Admiral's smile gave way to a serious look. Not a harsh look, just serious enough to get his next point across. "I hope you realise how lucky you've been, though. A Starfleet vessel is not a safe place to be running around without permission.
