These are the last two posts from the broken thread.
By Emelye: Emelye finally looked up from the console at which she was working. She had just finished writing a program that would cause a window to pop up on every PADD and console in the ship. It would work kind of like the old internet programs from the early twenty first century. It was limited to text, but it worked directly with the ships operating system, so the message had a good chance of getting through.
She sent the following message:
Please report your status. Most systems, including internal communications are down. Please reply via this console/PADD.
And From T'Mar: T'Mar saw that Emelye had made progress. "Hopefully, they will respond soon" she said. Soon medics came and took care of the wounded. It would not be easy to get them to sickbay as long as the turbolifts were damaged. "Emelye, see if you can contact one of the transporterrooms and ask them how soon they can have the transporters back online.
After a short while, a message came in from engineering. The acting chief reported that they were busy rerouting power and that it would take a while before transporters were functional. However he had good news that the main turbolift was nearly fixed. "That is good news indeed." T'Mar asked Emelye to convey a message to be notified as soon as the wounded could be transported on the turbolift. T'Mar saw ensign Sovas checking systems. "Any sensors back ensign?" T'Mar asked.
(Sovas, you can work your imagination from here if you like )

Luke felt much better. Doctor Spiegel was certianly very talented at his art. Luke sat up in bed. Having just died and had a heart attack he was suprised he could move at all. "Doctor," Luke said. "I feel much better now, I need to get down to engineering". Spiegel laughed openly. "I don't think so," he said. "Listen," Luke said. "I need to manage repairs. I feel fine. You said yourself that on medical grounds I am satisfactorally healed". "Yes," said Spiegel. "But you just had a massive heart attack and you have just died! This could have any number of post-treatment conditions!" Luke regretfully agreed and then lay back on the biobed. 'I need to get out of here,' he thought.

[Off: I will look into the vampire plot tomorrow. With my headache, I can't read from the screen too long. Of course as our systems are down, we're an easy target for invasion by vampires. After I read all that tomorrow, I will give a signal to vampires that they can invade the ship ]

"Not a day goes by without a Federation Ship having trouble. Then we have to work on it then something else happens. Maybe I should be paid danger money for piloting the ship. Man I love this job." Trust smiled and got to work on the ships navigations systems.
Him and some engineers were working to get the ship going incase anything happened and they needed to high tail it out of there.
"I have repaired at least 250 consoles in my 5 years of being a navigations officer. I know these circuits like the back of my hand."
Trust looked at the back of his hand, "Hmmm I didn't know that was there."
The engineers looked at him and laughed. Trust smiled at his corny joke. At least it had given the other crew members a boost in their spirits.
"Commander sir, did you hear about the vampires that could take us over any second?" Asked one of the engineer officers.
"Yes and it's lucky I sleep with garlic beside my bed. I don't know why I do but my mum always said 'Son sleep with garlic beside your bed and nothing can harm you. Unless they like garlic.' So ever since I did what mum said."
"Sir are you serious?"
"Yes, yes I am." Trust smiled at the young officer. He then went back to fixing the burnt out console.

T'Mar overheard the conversation Commander Trust No-one had with the engineers about vampires. "Garlic?" she inquired. "Yes, garlic" Trust replied. Vampires do not like garlic" he grinned. "But I love to spice my food with it." "I have never heard of vampires before Commander. Have you encountered them?" "No, never." "What are vampires?" the commodore wanted to know. Trust cleared his throat. "Well sir, they are undead humans who suck your blood through two puncture holes in your neck." "They look for the main artery and drink all your blood" one of the engineers explained. T'Mar kept a blank face. "I think you are pulling a joke on me. One cannot be undead. One is either alive or dead." Trust shook his head. "Believe me captain, undead beings exist!" "Perhaps in your imagination Commander. Enough with the pleasurable conversation. Let's get this ship up and running!" T'Mar did not yet know that she would be a target for the vampires that soon would be invading the ship.

T'Val snuck out of the conference room, Captain Smith had obviously not noticed her, seeming as he was otherwise occupied at the time. She relocated Tepes and Magellan, and let them know that she was going to find other feeding grounds. As she walked by a set of windows, she noticed her husband's shuttle and she smiled, teeth showing. ~how convenient~ she thought, and used the mists to get herself over to the diplomatic craft.
Seeing it deserted, she used her own command codes to lock out Tedak as well as Saarok, cloaked the vessel and set course randomly, first towards, then away from both vessels. "Computer, show nearest Federation vessel, excluding Jefferson and El-Salvador."
=^= nearest vessel is USS Scavenger, last direction known is towards Trocana prime =^=
T'Val worked the navigational console, setting course for Trocana Prime. And indeed, several hours later, the vessel loomed up on the main viewscreen. T'Val smiled, craving for a feed. She touched a few keys and soon she established contact with the ship. "USS Scavenger, this is Healer T'Val requesting permission to come aboard. I have a message for Commodore T'Mar, from Admiral Magellan, to be delivered personally."

T'Mar allowed T'Val on board. They could use healers right now as many people had suffered injuries from the accident. "Let T'Val come to my readyroom so I can brief her on the situation" she told the officers at the shuttle bay. Communications had come back online a few minutes ago. A while later T'Val entered T'Mar's readyroom. "Greetings T'Val" T'Mar said. "Good to have you aboard. We have many wounded. My first officer can show you to sickbay when you are ready." T'Mar had a slight injury on her forehead as she had hit a bulkhead during the accident. T'Val approached her. "You have been slightly injured. Shall I take a look at it?" "It is just a bump. It will heal. I have wounded crewmen who need your help more" T'Mar said. "Nevertheless, it might be more serious than it looks. Just a quick look and I will tend to the others." T'Mar allowed T'Val to examine her. "Allright then. Go ahead."

T'Val gave the Vulcan commanding officer a quick check-over. "You are pregnant," she stated, "two months into first trimester." She leaned closer as she manually continued her check-up, she gazed at the woman's vein, which was beckoning her. For a moment, T'Val hesitated, but she knew she could not hold off longer. She knew that infecting someone did not harm an unborn, though how she knew she did not know.
Again, she leaned close, as T'Mar sat perfectly still as if moving was going to ruin the scans T'Val was taking. "Please move your head somewhat to the right," T'Val said softly, "I am seeing a minor injury here that needs to be taken care of." As T'Mar obliged, T'Val took the opportunity. She held on to the woman's shoulders and let her teeth sink into the beckoning vein, holing on tight as the other woman struggled.
When she had enough, she released the other Vulcan, letting her slump backwards in her chair. Wiping her lips, T'Val smiled. "You are one of us now commodore," she whispered, "serve Master well and you will be greatly rewarded."

T'Mar struggled as T'Val sucked up her blood. She tried to pull away but the vampire was exceptionally strong. Unnaturally strong! "So this is a vampire" she thought before she sagged into unconciousness.
After a short while, T'Mar slowly woke up and felt different. She found herself craving for blood which was quite strange. She knew whom she now served and what she had to do.
She was hungry and left her readyroom. On the bridge she saw her first officer who was coordinating the repair efforts. She looked like a tasty target but T'Mar had to move when Commander Brianon was allone and now there were crewmen all around. She had to find another target. "I need to go to sickbay to see the wounded. I should not deny them my moral support." She left but instead of sickbay, she headed for her quarters and she camouflaged her neck wound with some makeup as a dermal regenerator did not seem to be able to heal it. Then she went out.

Emelye watched the Commodore as she made her way to the jeffries tube to make her way down to sickbay. The console she was working on was neraly fixed. In just a few minutes they would have internal sensors up again. Then she would begin work on the external sensors. Status reports were coming in slowly (OFF: the is a hint to all of you...). She hoped the damage to the rest of the ship wasn't too extensive.
Fitting the coverplate to the bottom of the console, Emelye stood up and tapped away on the science station. Hopefully the repairs to the voice recognition system would be completed soon. Accessing the computer manually was beginning to become tedious. The external sensors looked like they had more damage than the internal sensors. She would have to consult with Luke about the best way to approach the problem.
According to the sensors Luke was in sickbay. With communications still restricted to text messages Emelye though it would be better to go down and talk to him in person, if he was well enough to talk. She certainly hoped he wasn't too badly injured. While she was there she could also try to convice T'Mar to let Brian have a look at her head injury.
"Hey, Trust. I'm going to try and fix the external sensors. I'm leaving you in charge up here. If you need anything just send a message to all stations and I will check for them every time I go past one."
And with that, Emelye follwed in T'Mar's footsteps and disappeared down the jeffries tube.

After feasting on T'Mar, T'Val made sure that she got back to her shuttle unseen by anyone on the senior staff. As soon as she boarded her shuttle, and left the hangarbay - after coercing the hangarbay chief into co-operation - she cloaked her vessel and set course back for the El-Salvador. Master would be pleased, she had gotten to the Beta squadron commander, and without trouble too.
Just off the bow of the El-Salvador did she uncloak her vessel, and again used the mists to get aboard. She sought out Master Tepes, and found him feasting on a young man. She waited patiently at a respectful distance, so Master would not be disturbed. She had no idea where Magellan was, but she was fairly sure that he was having his own bit of fun.

T'Mar had left her quarters and wondered where Commander Brianon might be. She discovered that she could access the sensors again and looked for Emelye. The computer told her where Emelye was repairing the external sensors and headed for a jeffries tube. She crawled for five minutes till she found the first officer. "Commander Brianon. How are the external sensors coming on?" "Just about fixed sir" she smiled. She noticed that T'Mar looked rather pale. "Are you allright?" she asked the commodore. "I am feeling a bit sick. Otherwise I am fine Emelye" she said calmly. "Do you need a hand?" "Oh, I'm nearly finished, if you don't throw up on the cirquitry" Emelye replied gleefully. "No need to be concerned about that. Dr. Spiegel gave me something. Those cirquits look rather singed. I suppose they have shortcirquited?" T'Mar looked closer. She could smell Emelye's blood. She moved closer to go for the bite at any moment. Emelye nodded. "Yes they have indeed shortcirquited from the shock. I had to install some new cables." "You're doing a good job Emelye. The ship is getting back into shape quickly. Soon we will be able to help those poor colonists." "Yeah. They're also on my mind. Constantly." T'Mar moved closer. "We will be on our way soon Commander." She grabbed Emelye firmly and sank her newly grown fangs into her neck. Emelye struggled but could not resist the superior strength of the Vulcan. "T'Mar what the hell are you doing!" she screamed. Then she fell unconcious. "Welcome to our club Commander." T'Mar said as she licked the last drops of blood from her lips. The external sensors were back online and T'Mar left the first officer. "She will wake up soon and we shall contact the others."

Commander Brianon stepped through the doors of Sickbay. She looked rather pale but she hid this from Spiegel. "Luke," she said. "I need some help with the external sensor nodes on Deck 6. I need to install new cables but I don't want to overload any EPS conduits by supplying to little cables. I need your expertise". Luke jumped up and said, "I have to go Spiegel". Before Spiegel could protest Luke was out of the room and on his way to deck 6.
"Arrrggghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Luke screamed as Emelye sunk her teeth into his neck. He collapsed onto the floor. Emelye looked pleased and she turned her attention to the cables as Luke lay still on the floor.

Emelye was was doing some rewiring in a jeffries tube to reroute the external sensor around some damage when the Commodore arrived.
"Commander Brianon. How are the external sensors coming on?"
"Just about fixed sir" she smiled. She noticed that T'Mar looked rather pale. "Are you allright?" she asked the commodore.
"I am feeling a bit sick. Otherwise I am fine Emelye" she said calmly. "Do you need a hand?"
"Oh, I'm nearly finished, if you don't throw up on the cirquitry" Emelye replied gleefully.
"No need to be concerned about that. Dr. Spiegel gave me something. Those cirquits look rather singed. I suppose they have shortcirquited?" T'Mar looked closer.
Emelye nodded. "Yes they have indeed shortcirquited from the shock. I had to install some new cables."
"You're doing a good job Emelye. The ship is getting back into shape quickly. Soon we will be able to help those poor colonists."
"Yeah. They're also on my mind. Constantly."
T'Mar moved closer. "We will be on our way soon Commander."
Emelye looked up at the Commodore. She was behaving very strangely indeed. As Emelye looked away she felt the commodore bite into her neck. She tried to push T'Mar away, bu tall her pushing and kicking was to no avail. The pain in Emelye's neck was incredible. She could feel herself getting dizzy from lack of blood.
"T'Mar what the hell are you doing!" she screamed.
The world spun faster and faster. Emelye felt like she was falling, but everything was so black she couldn't tell. Then she fell unconcious.
The next thing Emelye was aware of was hunger, but something about the feeling wasn't quite right. She sat up slowly, not sure at first what had happened. She was in a jeffries tube, there was an access panel on the floor next to her. She stood up to replace the panel when she remebered what had happened. Putting her hand to her neck she felt where T'Mar had bitten her. She moved her hair over her shoulder to cover the bite. Something definitely felt wrong, but what?
Emelye figured that as she had been repairing the external sensors, she might as well finsh the job. The next thing to do was the external sensor nodes on Deck 6, but she was worried about overloading any EPS conduits by supplying too little cables. She would need Luke's help with this. Checking the internal sensors, she found that he was still in sickbay. Emelye made her was there via the jeffries tubes as much as possible to avoid crew members. She wasn't sure how she looked, but given how she felt she didn't think it was good.
Emelye reached sickbay and the doors stood open. She quickly surveyed the room and spied Luke lying on one of the beds, looking about as bored as she had ever seen him. Luckily, the doctor had his back to her. Emelye quickly moved over to Luke before Brian could notice her condition.
"Luke, I need some help with the external sensor nodes on Deck 6. I need to install new cables but I don't want to overload any EPS conduits by supplying to little cables. I need your expertise". Standing this close to Luke, she smell the coppery scent of his blood. 'How odd', she thought, 'I've had never noticed that before. It must be something to do with his injuries.' Luke jumped out of bed, obviously eager to be out of sickbay, "I have to go Spiegel", he called, and as he moved away the smell faded. Emelye was feeling hungrier than ever.
They arrived on Deck 6 and Luke pulled of the access panel. Emelye had to stand close to him as they both worked on the cables. The smell of his blood was overpowering. She looked longingly at his neck. The desire to sink her teeth into him grew. All thoughts that this was not normal behaviour were totally suppressed by her need for blood. Finally her hunger was too much, and she gently turned Lukes head away exposing his neck. Intent on his work it took Luke a moment to realise what she was doing, and by then it was too late.
Emelye bit down on his neck. She felt the skin break and his blood start to flow. She drank it hungrily. He struggled against her. But, he was still weak from his injuries in the turbolift. He screamed, but Emelye was oblivious. She was only aware of the blood she was drinking. When she was full, she let Luke drop to the floor. Feeling much better, she turned back to the repairs.
As she worked Emelye began to realise what she had done. The external sensors were back online and Luke was unconcious on the floor. She couldn't just leave him there to be found. So she picked him up and carried him to her quarters. Gently she laid him on her bed to recover. Emelye realised that she was covered in blood. She went to have a shower and put on a fresh uniform before he awoke.

Luke could hear water trikling in the distance. He awoke. he lay on a bed in somebody's quarters that he did not recognise. 'Where am I?' he wondered. He turned and saw 'Dune' the book lying on the bedside table. 'Emelye's Quarters,' he thought. He felt an immense pain in his neck. Emelye had bitten him. He felt an urge to feed. Alas, something else inside him said no. He was conflicted. He wanted blood and yet he didn't. He heard Emelye step into the room. Quickly, he lay back down and pretended to be unconcieous.

Emelye steped out of the shower and realised she had left her spare uniform in the other room. She peered around the door to check on Luke. He was still asleep. She dashed across the room in her towel and grabbed the uniform. Another minute later she emerged again, this time much more composed. She was wearing a black skivvy under her uniform so that its high neck would hide the bite mark. Luke would probably wake up soon, and Emelye knew that he would be hungry.
Emelye went over to the replicator and ordered a jug of body tempertaure blood. She knew it wasn't quite the same as real blood, but she hoped it would be close enough. She placed the jug on the bedside table for Luke to find when he woke up. Moving back over to the replicator, Emelye set about changing the log so that it looked like she had replicated coffee, not blood. She wasn't sure why, but she didn't want anyone finding out what had happened.

T'Mar was back on the bridge and she felt satisfied. Although she could nearly taste the blood of her crewmembers, she restrained herself. "One by one they will join us and then the colonists will be with us too" she thought. "Ensign Sovas, internal and external and external sensors are online. Any ships in the vincinity?"
Sovas had just finished a diagnostic on the sensors. "Negative captain. Sensors are not detecting any ship in our sector. The sensors are functioning within normal parameters again." T'Mar nodded. "Very well. But this is a quiet region after all. There is not so much traffic here usually." She tapped her commbadge. "Lieutenant Dunsmore, any update on repairs of the engines?" Dunsmore did not reply as he was still playing unconcious in Emelye's quarters. "Computer, where is Lieutenant Dunsmore?" "Lieutenant Dunsmore is in Commander Brianon's quarters" the voice of the ships main computer replied. "That is most unusual. And he should be back at work. And so should Emelye!" she thought and headed for the turbolift. A few minutes later she was at Emelye's quarters and signalled the door. Emelye opened. "Well goodafternoon Commodore. I believe my blood did you well. I hope it was enough for the two of you" the first officer grinned. T'Mar smiled a little. "Yes, it was quite satisfactory Commander. The computer told me that Lieutenant Dunsmore is here with you. Have you been fooling around instead of making repairs?" "It was lunchtime Sir, I needed to eat something, right?" T'Mar gave her a slightly mischievous look. "Of course Emelye. Of course." She saw Luke lying on the bed looking unconcious. "He will be hungry when he wakes up. Make sure he leaves your quarters in an unconspicuous manner." "Sure Commodore. I'll see to that." Emelye replied. T'Mar rubbed her tummy. "I think I am getting hungry again. I will see in what state the science lab is." A few minutes later T'Mar stepped into the science lab where her husband had just finished clearing up some repair mess. Sovek greeted her. "How is the rest of the ship?" he asked. "The ship is getting back into shape. Soon we will be ready to help the colony on Trocana. I see the system failures also left some scars here." Sovek nodded. "Yes. A computer was damaged by an energy surge. The memory core has remained intact fortunately. But how are you doing my wife?" "I am well my husband. Quite well. I saw the doctor right after the accident. Our child is unharmed." She found it quite hard to resist Sovek's Vulcan blood. Human blood was good. Vulcan blood even better. Sovek turned to his console. "Fortunately, our project is undamaged and no data has been lost. Look here. We have found something quite extraordinary." T'Mar came closer and stood behind him looking at the screen. But it was his neck that interested her more. She also felt passion. Great burning passion. She wanted him to be with her. "We have discovered that the methane emissions on the fifth planet in the Bolarus system might come from subterranian lakes. It is quite extroardinary" he explained. "Yes, it is all quite fascinating my husband" she whispered sensually. They were allone in this laboratory unit. "But let us go to our quarters to have something to eat." "Yes my wife. I have not eaten anything since breakfast and it is nearly dinnertime. Let us go." But the moment he turned, T'Mar's teeth sank down into his neck. He tried to struggle free but she was too strong. "T'Mar! What is this!?" Then he fell unconcious and sagged into T'Mar's arms. "I love you my husband" she whispered in his ear. She laid him down on the floor and sat down. She held his head in her arms untill he woke up.

Trust was attending to a burnt out navigations panel when he saw TMar bite into another crew member.
"Oh no the vampires are here." Trust knew they weren't real vampires but victim of a strange virus.
Trust had not been bitten yet and he wanted to keep it like that. He slowly slinked out of the bridge and ran to his quarters.
"What am I going to do? I don't know who is a blood sucker or not. I don't want to shoot anyone incase they are not infected. I could try martial arts or a sedative but it's not 100 percent guaranteed."
Trust paced around the room trying to think of what to do. He decided to lay low for a while until he could trust at least one person. With this allie they could detain the infected until an antidote was available on board.
Trust looked out of the door, the coast was clear. He stepped out creeping slowly up the corridoor. There was an empty room to his left. He decided to take the service shafts to avoid being seen. Trust lifted out the grate and climbed in. It was a tight squeeze but enough to move at a steady speed.
Trust had been crawling around the shafts for what seemed like hours. He moved past a room where an engineering ensign was busy fixing one of the cables for the computer. Trust wondered if this ensign was infected with the virus. He decided to watch to see if he attacked anyone.

T'Mar's appetite had only heightened after she had fed on her own husband. Sovek had recovered and was now looking for a snack elsewhere. T'Mar had perhaps gotten extroardinarily hungry and she herself knew that this was unusual. She thought that her pregnancy might have something to do with it. Again she craved for blood. She stalked through a corridor as she saw a crewman passing by. He greeted her with the usual standard courtesy. "Good afternoon crewman. I require your assistance." "Certainly" he replied. "What do you need me to do?" "First we will head for the bridge" she said and they walked towards the turbolift. Once inside, she bit him and was still biting him when the doors opened again. She had forgotten to order the turbolift to a hold. She left the crewman in the turbolift which she left immediately, worrying that anyone could have seen her with him. The liftdoors slid shut and she sat down on her chair.
(ooc: Trust, you can start warning people. Salek, REckus , T'Val, Jordan, Storey and Buster are working on the cure for this vampire disease. I'll send another message to Brian Spiegel because he hasn't posted in ages, I hope he'll reply this time. We're going to conclude the vampire plot in the next couple of days)

Emelye left Luke unconcious on her bed and headed for the bridge. The turbo lifts seemed to be back online, which was good, as she was still feeling at little drained from the recent events. Luke had satisfied her momentarily, but she was getting hungry again.
The turbo lift doors slid open to reveal the body of a crewman slumped aginst the back wall. His neck bore the telltale bite marks of a vampire. Looking around to check she was alone, Emelye dragged the body out of the lift. Just as she was lying him down in the corridor she heard someone come around the corner.
"Ensign. Can you give me a hand here? He seems to have passed out in the turbolift"
The Ensign rushed over and bent down to check the body for injuries. Quickly, Emelye pounced on the woman and drank hungrily. The poor girl was too surprised to effectively fight back. Very soon she was lying unconcious next the the crewman T'Mar has fed on.
Emelye stood up and stepped into the turbolift and went up to the bridge.
T'Mar was seated in the command chair, so Emelye made her way to the science station. Having recently fed she found she could concentrate on the sensor logs to find out what had happened.

T'Mar noticed Emelye walking to the science station. After a while she asked: "Have you made an analysis as to what has happened to us?" "Yes, I have nearly completed my analysis but I think I know what has happened. I think we might have hit a quantum filament a few hours ago, which has been my hypothesis for a while. It's also happened to the Enterprise D years ago." T'Mar nodded. "Yes, I was also thinking that. We should develop a way to detect these anomalies before we run into them." "I totally agree. These things are pretty dangerous" Emelye replied. "I'll begin research as soon as we get back from Trocana."
A while later they were in T'Mar's ready room. "That was careless T'Mar!" Emelye said furiously. "You've left that crewman for dead in the turbolift!" "I know I was not thinking straight. I was quite hungry, and I am again. When I met him in the turbolift, I could not help myself. This need to feed on blood took over. I had hoped nobody would use the turbolift for a while, or at least think he had fainted or something." "I've taken care of it" Emelye replied. "He's probably biting everyone in sickbay now" she grinned. On the bridge Trust No-one got up and headed to his quarters to send a secret message to people he could trust.
(Trust, your turn now)
