Arrival

[Felix Savali]

After the journey from stabase Assailant Felix finally arrived at the Bajoran station , it seemed like n one was expecting him to arrive this soon , but it suited him good and he was also wearing civilian clothes , which he liked to do before arriving at a new position it gave him a chance to inspect the security messures aboard the vessel he was arriving to.

After getting out of the USS Trilian which transported him here he went to the airlock which was leading towards the USS Scavenger a Vagabond Class starship.
He went towards the airlock and he didnt see any security around so he entered thru it and found him self on the Scavenger.

While going thru the ship he arrived to the turbolift and entered it in it he saw two security officer which were carrying phasers.

"Hold it right there", they said pulling out their phasers

Felix stopped to see what would they do next

"Who are you and what are you doing here , how did you get here anyway."

"I assure you i have proper clearance to come here and to get to the place i am going to"

"He must be one of thos bajoran terrorists , who came here to sabotage the ship", one said to the other one

"Whats in the bag?"

"Personal items"

"Oh yeah , i think hes carying a bomb.", the second one said to the first one

Felix got tired of listening to these two idiotic security officers

"Let me show you that i have the proper clearance, computer , who is the first officer of this ship?"

"Cmdr. Felix Savali"

"Have his command codes been activated?"

"Affirmative."

"Computer who am I?"

"You are commander Felix Savali First Officer of the USS Scavenger , you have clearance of level 7 , you....."

"Thank you computer"

"Now do you plan on moving or do i need to throw your asses into the brig ", he said acting like hes angry

"I think hes trying to trick us", the first one said

Felix started to get alittle agitated:

"Listen lt. , i assure you i am who i claim to be , if you dont want to spend the rest of your life in the brig i suggest you move away"

They havent moved at all:

"Very well you asked for this , computer activate level 6 forcefieds in front of turbolift 3 on deck 7"

"Please state your authorization"

"Savali omega 4 5"

And the forcefields came into place locking the two security officers inside the turbolift.

"Computer identify the two people inside the lift"

"Their identity is unknown"

Felix not knowing anything about the fake engineers and security officers lurking around the ship found this odd , but the duo started shooting at the forcefield.

Merlain decided to go down personaly and see what this is about.

A few moments later he found a civliain and tow "securiy officers" locked inside a turbolift.

"Sir?", he asked the civilian

"Ah ensign , here are the two that tried to attack me , i think you can take it from here , by the way my name is commander Felix Savali the new first officer"

He said to the shocked security chief before he went to another turbolift leaving the shocked CTSO to take care of the phony security officers.

He found his way to his new quarters with the help of the computer , and entered them , they were alot bigger than the quarters he had on the Victory which was good , he left his bag on the bed and replicated a red commander uniform , and after putting it on he went to the bridge to meet his CO.

After a short ride with the turbolift he came to the bridge but no one seemed to notice him , so he went to the commodores office and chimned.

"Come", he heard

He entered and said:

"Commander Felix Savali , your new first officer reporting for duty"

How could this have happened? Meralin thought. Two freaks pulling a stunt like this, while he was inside the ship!

Meralin had turned the phonies in at the starbases security office, whom took care of the rest.

Back at the security station Meralin ordered two ensigns to guard the entrance to the Scavenger, making sure a lousy butt in like before'd be no longer possible.

Meralin decided to go for a drink and a lunch-snack in the mess-hall, while recalibrating the dutyrosters of the security personnel.

He settled down in the lounge corner, at least that was how he liked to call it, and got to work.

He was hoping they'd be going on their next mission soon. Making up dutyrosters was one of the most boring parts of the job...

[T'Mar]

"Welcome aboard Commander Savali" T'Mar replied. I trust you have been able to find everything. Good action of you capturing the two intruders fifteen minutes ago. Meralin has reported they have been put in the brig and will be transferred to a Federation detention fascility to await their trials. It is possible they are guilty of many more transgressions than entering a Starfleet vessel unauthorized."

"Indeed. But can you explain that lack of security at the airlock? Such people must be prevented entering the ship" he said.

"I do not know how this could have happened. There are sensors installed at the airlock to keep track of who is boarding and leaving the ship. They are functioning as I have received a signal when you boarded. I have asked Meralin to explain this fully in his report about the intruders. I asure you, this should not happen aboard this ship and I intend to learn how they could have come aboard."

"I might be of service in Meralin's investigation" Felix proposed.

T'Mar nodded. "You may assist him if you wish. You after all have apprehended them. But do not forget your other responsibilities. I would like you to get acqainted with the crew as soon as possible. That is also why I have asked you here. Would you like something to drink?

A few moments later they sat on comfy chairs in the ready room with hot drinks. "We are currently understaffed which is a problem. I am looking for aditional crew."

"It is a problem which concerns a lot of ships in the fleet. It would seem that young people are loosing interest in Starfleet. We have fought too many wars and explored too little in the past years." Felix said.

T'Mar nodded. "Indeed, I also signed on for scientific and cultural exploration, not war. But we must be prepared to fight to defend what is dear to us. Our next mission might be interesting as we are going to visit some barely explored territory. A planet in that sector is inhabited by a prewarp culture of which we only know that they are there."

Commander Savali's eyes started to shine. "Sounds great to me Commodore. If this is the way you prefer to be adressed."

"Commodore is a bit of a long word during critical situations. `Sir' will suffice."

Felix smiled a bit. "I will remember that sir. I will start my duties now if you have no objection."

"Not at all" T'Mar replied. "I will be on the bridge. Will you also begin on the bridge or have a look around the ship?"

"I am going to check on the prisoners first and see if Ensign Meralin needs a hand."

"Good" T'Mar replied. "I shall see you around and tomorrow morning at the briefing at 09:00. I would like to receive a first report and dutyrosters from you then. You are dismissed."

"Thankyou sir" Felix smiled. "One more thing. When are we leaving Bajor?"

T'Mar stood up to head for the bridge. "In two days when the additional crew has arrived."

"I will adjust the rosters to include the new crewmembers. Goodday Commodore." He headed for the turbolift and went to the detention area. T'Mar sat on the bridge managing ship operations.

After the talk with the commodore Felix went down to the deteantion area to see about those two security officers. When he arrived there he found out that they have been turned over to the station authorities.

So he decided to go to the chief of station security and see how there investigation is going. He entered the turbolift and went down to the airlock, once th turbolift came to a stop on deck 7 he exited and went to the airlock ,after he went thru it he saw two security officers guarding the entrance.

"Ensign , lt", he greeted them

"Sir"

After that small hallo with the officers he went down to find the chief of station security , he found him a few moments later in the security office.

"Hello", he said

"Hello to you , how can i be of asistance commander?"

"I came down to enquire aout two people that where brought in by a ensign Merlain"

"Ah yes , those two , well they thought they would throw a joke on the Scavenger crew , they are small conman whom i have kept my eye on for some time and this is finally something to lock them up."

"Well at least something good out of it",Felix said smiling

"It was good to meet you mr.?"

Off:I hope this is DS9 and that Odo is still here if not than consider this one his twin borther:)

"Odo"

"It was nice to meet you", Felilx said and then he left to go back to the Scavenger and explore the ship , and meet the departament heads.

After finding his way back to the airlock he greted the two security officers and went back to the Scavenger, he decided to start with engineering. He went to the turbolift and said:

"Main engineering"

After some huming and a few moments the lift came to a halt and he went towards the engineering , when he entered he saw alot of engineers runing around attempting to stabilize the plazma condutis , increase the efficency of the power conversion rates ....

He talked to one engineer and found out that the CEO hasnt arrived yet , so Felix went to the next departament on his list , Science.

He went to the lift and took it to get to the science lab. When he arrived he saw a female commander going over some astrophysical data.

"Hello", he said

The woman jumped at the sound of his vocie as she was apparantly very concentrated on her work.

She started to yell:

"If you do this ever again ill...",then she stopped and loked at him , "Who are you anyway"

"I am cmdr. Felix Savali , the new first officer", he said looking with a smile the now not so angry women

Emlye flushed a little.

"Sorry, sir. Let me introduce myself. I am Cmdr Emelye Brianon, Chief Science Officer of the Scavenger. I didn't expect to see you so soon. I was so engorssed in my work that I didn't notice that you had come in..."

Cmdr Savali jumps in as Emelye pauses for breath

" Do you always babble so much?"

Emelye smiles, a littile sheppishly

"I suppose so, yes, sir"

There is an uncomfortable pause. Emelye thinks to herself, I think I like this new FO already. No one has bothered to come down to science in such a long time..

" Do you know what our next mission will be sir?"

"We are to be studying a prewarp culture cmdr"

"Great, just my field. What do we know about them? oh and you can call me Emelye if you prefer"

"There will be a briefing tomorrow morning at 9:00. You will be given all the information then, Emelye"

"Yes sir!"

"Now, how about you show me where the mess is. I'm starving!"

[T'Mar]

The next morning, T'Mar arrived in the conference room at 08:55. Soon after her, the rest of the crew arrived.

"Tomorrow we will be leaving for an charting mission to a part of space which is fairly unexplored. It has several systems of which few has planets inhabited by intelligent life. One of these planets has a prewarp culture." She went on explaining the details of the mission and the location of the sector they were going to explore.

Commanders Brianon and Savali followed the briefing with great interest and offered many suggestions. The others proposed ideas of a technical nature.

"We have a lot of new crewmembers" T'Mar said after the deliberations and planning of the mission were concluded. "While we are docked, I suggest we become better acqainted with each other." She eyed everone. "We have a new first officer, a new chief engineer and a new doctor. Doctor Emms, I assume you are aware that I have recently recovered from severe injuries that I have sustained during battle with a band of pirates?"

The doctor nodded. "Dr. Garich and the medical staff of Deep Space 9 have sent me the medical files of every crewmember. I have been reading them last night. Your former CMO has kept them well up to date." (OFF: Maybe you could ask T'Mar if she could come to sickbay for a checkup on her recovery. There are also other patients which you can make up. They could have any kind of medical problem.)

"Good." T'Mar said. "Ensign Maxwell, as you are quite new to all of this, make sure you become well acqainted with the engineering personnel and show them you are the boss there. If you have questions, come to me or Commander Savali. (OFF: You could make up names of your engineering collegues and write interesting stories of events in engineering.)

Felix Savali nodded. "We are confident that you will do well. The people under your supervision might try to pull a few jokes on you but always show them your authority. But most of all, you are relying on them to do their jobs and show your confidence in them."

Maxwell nodded and smiled a bit nervously. "I will do my very best Sir."

After the meeting was concluded, each went to his/her station.

OFF: I'll be away for the weekend. I'll be back next monday.

After the meeting has ended Felix decided to get together the deprtament heads down in the messs hall and introduce him self to all of them and to get them to introduce to each other.

After making that call he decided to stop by his quarters to check a few things. He went to the lift and after a few moments he found him self in his quarters , he put down the pads for the upcoming mission and noticed a flashing message on the computer screen.

He sat down and opened the message:

Dear Felix,

Its only been a short while and yet i already miss you. I hope you are finding everything okay and getting settled in. Our new First officer is a vulcan. Haven't met him yet but from what i read in his profile he seems to be okay i suppose. We also are getting a new Chief Medical Officer, Jimmy Jones. well i just wanted to check in and see how thins were faring, I miss you Imzadi. Be safe and dont flirt with the girls to much *she chuckled*. i better get going my chrono timer just went off and i only have 5 mins till i have to report to duty. Love and miss you. Tiffani

After he watched off the message he decided to write up a response:

"Computer start recording":

Hello imazdi , i have recived your message and i miss you to , i have just started to settle in on the Scavenger , the CO commodore T'Mar seems to be a nice person but as i have only met her it still to early to judge, and also alot of the crew here is new , well be leaving on our first mission once all of the new crewmembers arrive , i hope the FO turns out ok , and i hope that the doctor is as goodd as the EMH * he smiled* , i love you and i miss you , i will try not to flirt with girls too much *smile* , hope to hear from you soon , imzadi.

After he sent off the message he just had enough time to get to the messhall on time. Whenhe arrived he saw the CTSO and the CSCO already waiting for him. He took a seat at their table and greeted them:

"Hello , i belive we already met he said to Emelye", and smiled

"And you ", he said turning to the CTSO , "NIce to meet you"

While he was starting to talk the rest of the crew arrived , the CEO and the doctor.

"Ok now that we are all here we should all say a few words about our selves", he said looking at the deprtament heads and waiting for them to say something.

Seeing that the crew couldnt agree wholl strt first , Felix decided to introduce himself to them first.

"Ok , ill start"

"My name is Felix Savali , and i hold the rank of commander , have been in starfleet for some time now ,i come from earth, my father is an admiral and the head of the federation council , and my mother an instructor in starfleet academy in San Francisco , have spent most of my life on starships so i guess this has made an impact on my choice of carier ", he said smiling

"Before i came here i was the Chief of Ops on the USS Victory C then i got promoted and transfered here as First officer, and that would be that", he said

"So now who wants to be next?"

Emelye is a slight girl, 5'3" with bright purple hair (dyed ). She smiles and introduces herself.

"Well. my name is Emelye Brianon. Feel free to call me Emelye. I'm the Chief scicence officer and I've been on the Scavenger for almost 3 years.

"I'm originally from earth. My parents are both school teachers and I am the first person from my family to join Starfleet.

"I did my major in xenobiology, and i am currently working on a thesis looking at the effects of binary stars on developing species.

"That about sums me up. Someone else's turn"

Jay had so far found it slightly bewildering to be on a new ship but she was taking it in her stride. So far, everyone that she had met had been nice, and she hoped that she would soon feel at home on in her new quarters and sickbay. It was certainly going to be different to be in charge of sickbay. She listened intently as Commander Savali introduced himself and then to the Chief Science officer Emelye.
"That about sums me up. Someone else's turn" she heard Emelye say. She thought she might as well introduce herself next. "My name is Jay Emms and currently I hold the rank of Ensign. I am 25 years old and was born in San Francisco on Earth and I went to med school at UCLA. Both my parents are civilians but teach engineering and languages at the Academy in San Fran, not unlike Commander Savali's mother" she said, smiling at Felix. I always wanted to become a doctor and one of my teachers was ex starfleet and so I joined the Academy as soon as possible." she added, smiling at her new crew mates.

After spending some time on the Assailnt and awaitng the shuttle to take her to the Scavenger and Felix , Tiff was happy when finally the shuttle has arrived , she said goodbye with several people she met on Assailnt and she got on he shuttle , she was happy and sad at the same time while she was leaving the Assailnt and the Victory who was starting to become like her home.

---------------12 hours later---------------------------------

After the long shuttle ride Tiff finaly set her foot on ds9 , the station looked even better than the stories she heard of it told. Once she got off the shuttle she was looking around the station to see if Felix was somwhere around , and she saw him. RIght at the door leading out of the docking ring.

Ahe ran to him and gave him a hug and a kiss.

"Welcome to ds9, i hope the trip was good?", he said

"Oh the trip was not too bad , am i happy to finally be here", she answered as he leed the way towards the Scavenger , and her new post as the counselor aboard it.

*after arriving on the scavenger, tiffani watched as felix headed back to the get together he had told her about, first she had to report in to the captain. she was kinda nervous and didn't know why perhaps it was the fact of meeting someone knew or expereiencing new emotions and such but something inside her was making her nervous, she made her way to the captains ready room and reported in, she reached the captains ready room and pushed the doorchimes*

Captain Tmar: Enter *came the oh so crisp reply she had grown custom to hearing on the Victory*

*she entered and stood infront of the captans desk* Counselor Tiffani Rylka Reporting for duty Ma'am

Captain Tmar: Ahh good, welcome aboard the scavenger, your duty roster will be given to you shortly, make sure to report into sickbay. that is all for now you may go.

Tiffani: Understood ma'am

*she turned and headed out, to where felix told her the get together was being held, she entered and looked around at some of the faces staring back at her, then quitly took her seat while one of the other officers were finish speaking*

Emelye watches as a lady makes her way across to the gathering. She sees the lady make eye contact with the new FO with a feeling of familiarity. 'They must know eachother already', Emelye thinks to herself, her curiosity piqued.

As Dr Emms finshes her introduction there is an uncomorftable pause. It only lasts a second before Emelye and Felix speak at once.

Emelye: "Who wants a drink?..."

Felix: "This is our new Counsellor..."

The both laugh and the tension is broken. Emelye gets everyone's drinks orders and heads over to the bar as the conversation picks up again

*Tiffani could sense the tension in the science officer and smiled at her in reassurance, and took a sip as her drink as it was handed to her* well *tiffani said briefly* I guess i should introduce myself a bit. My Name is Tiffani Rylka, I am half betazoid and was born on earth. My mother raised me as a child, *she paused for a moment and decided to keep most her family stuff to herself she wasn't ready to talk about her fathers death yet with people she barely knew* some of my interest are holonovels, and poetry, I previously served onboard the Victory and have recently met someone i have become very fond of *she smiled briefly as she looked around the room waiting for any reactions, she couldn't wait to spend some alone time with felix and hoped the gathering would end soon*

OFF: Welcome aboard Counsellor Rylka.

It has been ages since we had a counsellor here and I think it's going to be a lot of fun having a half Betazoid on board. I am a Vulcan so I may seem dry and emotionless to you. But it might also create funny situations . I'm glad to see you starting off so well. But that's logical as you've got experience with simming and other crewmembers here.

ON: T'Mar was still sitting in her readyroom reading reports and science journals. In her heart, she was still a scientist. As commanding officer she also read material concerning other functions of the ship like engineering and ship operations. This way, she kept up to date on technical and scientific developments which she often discussed with department chiefs. This repair session at DS9 had allowed her new crew to work on updates she had discussed with the former chiefs. Only Emelye was left from the old crew.

One thing troubled her. Acting ensign Maxwell was not settling in so well. She hoped he would come around. She decided to postpone his first evaluation a few days and sent a message to Starfleet Academy about it. It was a reasonable thing to do.

*Tiffani watched as everyone slowly made their way out of the observation lounge waiting impatiently for the last one to leave so she could talk to felix*

"So what will we do now ", he said smiling , "Im sure your tired , should i escort you to your quarters?"

*she smiled* eager to get rid of me are you *she teaased playfully* actually i was hoping we could spend some time together before our mission starts

"Well dont you think it would be better if we talked in a more private place , perhaps in my new quarters , maybe you would like to see them?", he said smiling to her *get ride of* statement

Mmhmm That sounds nice, *she held back kissing him as she was afraid someone might walk in on them*

And he led the way , they went out of the messhall and went towards the turbolift , as they entered it they were talking about the Scavenger andwhere is what located after a few moment the lift came to a hold and they exited , and walked towards his quarters, "Here we are", he said while presing a button to open the door

*she smiled as the entered his quarters, they were nice, a bit bigger then hers but not to much as the door closed she wrapped her arms around him and kissed him* i been wanting to do that sense i arrived *she chuckled a little*

"Im sure you were ", he said kissing her deply in return , "So got any ideas about what would you want to do now", he asked

well we could have our own lil get together *she grinned in a playful way*

"Well why dont we start by you saying what went on around the Vic after my departure , unless you want to start with something else?"

That is fine *she smiled and moved to the couch setting down on it* not much really happened, we got a new commander, and a new chief medical officer. *she paused for a moment waiting to see if he would join her on the couch* a few of the officers on the bridge were making comments about the commander, i put a quick stop to that *she smiled*

While moving towards the couch he said,"Im sure you did", giving her a smile. He sat down next to her and huegd her with one hand , "Anything else , what do you think of our crew here on the Scavie?"

*she leaned over and snuggled up against him* they seem okay, although i think Emeleye is curious about us.

"Well im sure you senced her emotions , afterall you are a telephat, but it is human nature to be curious", he said and smiled again , This girl always made him laugh he thought

True, i might of a bit, but in general i try not to read peoples thoughts *she smiled up at him, happy to be in his arms again, she was surpised at how much she had fallen for him, it felt as though they had just met but she had grown close to him so quickly* what about you, whats it been like serving as FO.

"Well , havent been here long enough to say , but it sure is an interesting job , ives een many other do it over a longer time period , since you know that i spent most of mylife on starships , but its good to finally be one myself"; he said while giving her another kiss , he really liked the girl she was special , really special

he thought

*she returned the kiss and smiled* mmhm some music would be nice

"Hmm , what would you like to listen too , im sure that the computer has a quite a large database?"

I dunno, something slow and nice. *she stood and walked over to the replicater* a white wine please, want anything, imzadi? *She said smiling back at him*

"A hot chocolate would be nice", he answered


Computer, one hot chocolate *she thought for a moment* that sounds good, computer forget the white wine, make that 2 hot chocolates *she watches as the 2 cups appeared, she picked them up and returned to the couch as the music she requested started playing, she handed one to felix*

"Thank you ", he said and smiled again , "Drank somee of his chocolate than laid it down on the table, "Hmm , thin music is quite romatic ", he said , "so what did you have in mind to do now"

*taking a sip before replacing the cup on the coffeetable* i duno, what would you like to do.

"Well several things come to my mind", he said smiling while looking her in the eye

Oh like what? *she said smiling back at him and leaned in kissing him*

"Yes something like this", he said as he started to passionatly kissing her

*she returned the kiss, wraping her arms around him, letting the passion overtake her*

-----------Next day morning----------

Felix was already replicating breakfast while Tiffani just started to wake up
"Morning sleepy , its already 0630 hours"

*she smiled walking up to him and wrapping her arms around him as he was replicating breakfast* good morning, whats for breakfast *she said looking over his shoulder at the replicator*

"Well i was planing to replicate some klingon gagh, but decided to get ham and eggs", he said smiling

*she frowned at him* klingon gagh for breakfast? eww *she chuckled ham and eggs sounds a whole lot better *she kissed him and went to sit at the table*

"Well hope you enjoyed our little get together yesterday", he said while eating

*she took a bit of the ham* mmhm *she smiled* i really enjoyed it, when does your shift start? *she smiled*

"Well guess ill be going up abit earlier cause we are leaving ds9 today , so got to check on the systems status"

hm i dont have a shift till later today, Think i would have time to do a bit of shopping on the promenda before we left? *She smiled while taking a bite of her eggs*

"Well dont know , wouldnt want you to be left behind , i guess youd have an hour , but dont be late", he said pretending to have a strict face

*she chuckled looking at his face, accidently spilling a bit of milk on her* oops, i just wanted to buy a few items for my new quarters, a few paintings perhaps *she smiled*

"Ok , but watch out when your doing business with ferengi , we wouldnt want to have to thrrow you in the brig for buying stolen artifacts", he said smiling as he was getting up from the table , "Have to go now , dont forget to lock on your way out" , he said as he gave her a kiss and disappeared thru the door

*she kissed him goodbye and cleared the table before heading off to her quarters to get some stuff before heading to the DS9 Promenda*

After making his way to the bridge , Felix saw that T'Mar wasnt on the bridge yet , good he thought , i get to be the first one up , that will look good he said as he walked over to the center chair and took a seat, "Ok people , well be leaving today , i would like to have a deprtemnt status report in before the commodore comes up and gives the order to depart"

*Tiffani had managed to get back from the promenda of ds9 before departure and had put the few items she bought away in her quarters including a lil something she bought for Felix, she hoped he would like it, it wasn't much just a picture frame, that she would put a picture of herself in it to give to him, she sit in her quarters, going through images before she found one she liked and placed into the picture frame, she would give it to him later either when the had dinner or were back in their quarters, she then made her way to the bridge for her shift*

*she walked off the turbolift and made her way to the seat on one side of the captain's chair, that was currently occupied by felix*

Tiffani: The captain not made it on the bridge yet?

Felix: not yet, no, you returned back rather quickl *he said leaning over a bit so that not many could hear*

Tiffani: I told you i wouldn't be long *she smiled* i have something for you later when we are off dutie.

*felix grinned a bit*oh really?

*Tiffani chuckled a bit* not that sort of present, You'll like it im sure of it.

*Just then she looked up to see the captain coming on the bridge*

[T'Mar]

T'Mar entered the bridge and saw her FO and counsellor already there. "Goodmorning Commander, Counsellor" and walked to her chair and sat down. She had already noticed yesterday that Felix and Tiffany had been exchanging amorous looks during the meeting. She had spotted them walking side by side in a corridor. "I trust you have both had a good night sleep in your new quarters?"

Felix nodded with a smile. "Yes, my new bunk is quite comfortable."

The counsellor grinned. "It usually takes me some time getting used to the new crew for me, being an empath you know. But I've slept like a log."

T'Mar nodded. "Good." She checked the status of all departments. "Looks like we are ready to leave. Helm, lay in a course to the Arkala sector, warp four once we clear this system."

"Aye sir." the helmsman replied. "Going to one quarter impulse." T'Mar trusted on the new helmsman (position vacant) to know the standard procedures.

The doctor entered the bridge. "Goodmorning everyone" he said as he sat down besides the commodore. "It's quiet in sickbay so I thought I'd take a look here."

"Well, then you made a good decision to come here because there will be some interesting phenomena to see along the way." At that moment the wormhole opened and some ships went in. "Wormholes are a fascinating sight, don't you think doctor?"

"It looks beautiful Commodore. How are you feeling?"

"I feel fine doctor. Thankyou for asking."

A while later the ship was at warp heading for a far destination.

[Felix Savali]

As the Scavenger was slowly moving away from DS9 the viewscreen was showing the wormhole opening and a few ships came out of it . The sight was beautifoul , all the flashing lights most people who were on the bridge were impressed as thexcept for a few including Felix who has been here before and seen the wormhole opening.

After moving away enough from the station the Scavenger jumped to warp 4 heading towards the mostly unexplored Arkala system as their assignement was to explore a prewarp civilization located on one of the planets in that system , just as the ship jumped to warp the helmsmen informed the captain that it will take them 24 hours 30 minutes to reach the Arkala system at their present speed.

"This should be a smooth ride", the captain said

"It should be , unless some unexpected scenarios develop along the way

The new doctor was deeply impressed with the viewscreen of flashing stars and the wormhole opening once they were leaving the DS9 as she didnt get much time to spend on the bride , she was usually in sickbay.

"So doctor how do you like your new post so far?", he asked

"I will be in my ready room i have some report writing to catch up", the captain said as she went to her ready room

"If something comes up , you call me, you have the bridge Commander"

She said as she went off to her ready room to catch up on some reports writing

As the commodore left , Felix thought for a moment about what they could do to keep this trip interesting and he decided to speak to the captain about it.

While he was thinking about it the chief scinence officer came to the bridge to take over the science console.

"Good moring sir", she said

"Good morning commander"

"You have the bridge" , he said as he went of to the captains ready room to speak to her about runing some drills"

He chimed the bell and heard "Come in" , then he entered

"Sir", he greeted

"Commander , how can i help you?"

"Well as this trip will be a rather longer one , i would suggest that we ran a series of test on our systems , with the newest modifications installed , we could test our warp engines maximum velocity along the way?"

Off:So here begins our first mission with the mostly new crew

Jay liked the Scavenger's bridge and the fact that the Commodore was friendly and encouraged her to stay there. "It gets so boring being stuck down in sickbay sometimes" Jay said. "And there's only so many times that I can read through all the crews medical records" she added. Commodore T'Mar smiled "I should imagine that's true Doctor" she said. "But seeing as Sickbay has a lack of patients so far then I am happy for you to be up here". Jay admired the beauty of the lights coming from the wormhole. "I would certainly never get to see this from Sickbays windows anyway"
Commander Savali turned to face Jay, as he could see how impressed she was with her new viewpoint. So doctor how do you like your new post so far?", he asked
"Well so far I have familiarised myself with my new sickbay and the crews medical files as I said. Once I treat my first few patients I'm sure it'll feel more like a proper 'home' if you know what I mean Commander" she replied. He nodded. "well you just enjoy your time on the bridge. Medical emergencies seem to come in fast so you may need the time now to put your feet up" he added, giving her a wink.
"Well you have all made me feel at home since I came aboard for which I'd all like to thank you" she added.
"We aim to do our best Dr Emms" said Commodore T'Mar.

*tiffani listened as the crew talked and watched the wormhole as the headed toward it (is assuming thats the case right?) she was amazed it was the first one she had seen sense she had been out of the academy and was impressed with the size of it, she listened to the doctor and the FO talk, she made note to speak with the doctor at the earliest convience for a personal matter that she wanted to take care of, she smiled a bit at noticing how well the crew was taking to the new change in command everyone seemed happy and content*

Emelye just couldn't take her eyes off the wormhole. She had never seen anything like it before i her life, and it was not something she ever wanted to forget.

"Good moring sir", she said

"Good morning commander"

"You have the bridge", siad Cmdr Savali

She leaned over and tapped a few keys on her console. Yes, the sensors were recording this. I will have to send an image home to Mum, she thought.

Emelye made her way to the centre chair on the bridge as she watched the commander walk across to the captains ready room. Sometimes it amazed her that she could actually ne here. When she had first come to this ship she had only ever been a passenger on a ship before. Taking a more active role, not on a starbase, was the best decision she had ever made.

Emelye looked over the the man at the helm.

"How are we doing, ensign?"

OFF:sorry if i got the rank wrong

"aproximately 24 hrs until we reach our destination, sir"

Emelye sits back in her chair. She thinks to herself about the upcoming mission. Suddenly she sits up straight.

" Dr. Do you know any xenopsychology? I have the biology covered, but I'm sure the social customs of this culture will also be of great importance"

[T'Mar]

T'Mar had spent a while talking with Felix about his suggestions. She agreed that drills were necessary to get the crew shaped up as a team as a lot of people were new.

The new systems had been tested but not in action. "I believe standard tests are sufficient for now as they are already quite good and thorough. Coordinate with each department about the proceedings of the diagnostic operations. I am particularly interested in the performance of the engine, the long and shortrange sensors and the weapons. I would like to be informed when the warp drive and the weapons will be tested. The sensors are continuously functioning anyway and Commander Brianon must keep an eye on them and compare the quality of the readings with older sensor logs."

"I will set up a scheme with the department heads and send it to you sir" Felix replied.

A while later T'Mar was back on the bridge while Felix was walking from department to department to log which chief wanted to do what.

"Savali to the bridge" he called in.

The Commodore pressed a button on her armrest. "Bridge here" T'Mar replied.

"We're ready to test the warp drive now sir. The rest of our schedule is transmitted to your console now."

T'Mar saw Felix's plan unfold on a small screen on her right. "Thankyou Commander. This is a good plan. It is a good thought to test the engines first as we are still close to known systems with friendly worlds. Not that I expect the engine to fail but one cannot say that for certain. You may proceed."

Felix stayed in engineering watching the crew at work. The Scavenger increased speed to a maximum of warp 9.95 which was acceptable. The temporary chief of engineering reported that even a bit more speed could be squeezed out of the warp drive when there was need for it. Warp 10 was not recommended as there could be severe concequences of being in every place at one moment.

Next they found an asteroid field to test the weapons. (I think Meralin can write a lot here)

OFF: Excellent rp everyone. But btw Jay, T'Mar is a Vulcan so she doesn't smile .

[Felix Savali]

After speaking with the commodore Felix got back on the bridge and saw Emelye enjojing herself in the center chair.

"So cmdr. i see you like the seat?", he said smiling

"Sir , she said as she got up"

"No need to jump, i would like you to compare your new sensor logs with the old ones and see if there is any improvement, or are they worse than before."

"Yes sir , ill get right on it", she said as she went to the science console to compare the logs

Then he went to Merlain to ask what test would he like to perform and then submit the list to the commodore

"Ensign", he said

"Sir"

"Are there any test you would like to perform with the upgraded weapons systems?"

"Yes sir , i would like to test our regenerative shields , and the phaser systems and also the torpedo targeting system"

"Understood ensign , youll get a chance to test those systems soon enough"


After adding all of those things to the list he he saw Tiff looking in the star field as the ship was going thru warp he smiled at her and then decided to go down to engineering ti supervise the engines test, just as he was preparing to leave the bridge , T'Mar came on.


"Sir , ill be down in engineering supervising the engines tests "

"Understood commander , notify me when you are ready to begin."

"Will do sir"

And he went in the turbolift then down to enginnering it took him a few minutes to get there.

When he entered he saw the engineering people busy as always , runing around testing systems , monitoring the warp core intermix ratios ....

"Hello chief", he said to the acting head of the engineering dept.

"Sir"

"We will be runing a warp engines test to determine the maximum cruise speed we can get out of the engines"

"Understood sir, we will be ready in a moment"

Then the chief went off to set some ratios and said:

"Ready when you say sir"

She left the comm link open and gave the order to increase speed.

"Increase speed to warp 9."

"Warp 9 aye sir ", the helmsman replied

Everything looked steady and worked without a glitch.

"Warp 9.90"

"Aye sir"

And the ship increased speed. Felix could see the warp reaction speeding up as the ships speed was increasing.

"Warp 9.95"

"Aye sir"

And it worked also without overloading the enginees.

*tiffani looked around the bridge to see the looks on everyones faces as the made their way through the wormhole and she spotted Felix smiling at her and she smiled back and closed her eyes for a brief second allowing herself to close in on his thoughts and whisperd, Imzadi in her mind and wondered if he had sensed it or herd her thoughts, as he turned and left the bridge she turned back to the viewscreen*
