Joan had not heard one word the captain had said, and continued in her song. She wondered why she suddenly had an audience with the captain, and stopped her song realizing somewhat who he was. Then another male entered.
She heard his question and kepts silent for a minute. "What are you talking about? I couldn't help myself, I don't know what you are talking about. Who are you any ways?" She says not sure why he would say something like that.

Mr. Johnson...”said the captian
"Yes, captain?”
“Would ye care t’ escort our royal guest t’ th’ brig?”
As Cyle and the security team escorted the queen from the transporter room,
Cyle stood right behind the queen, he had little fear of her now, and probably never would fear her again. It was his idea that captured her after all, his own idea.
He walk with William and the security team to the brig Cyle and Willian Hunter guard the brig and lock the guest in.
"Cadet Cyle and Cadet william Hunter, You two guard the brig"Captain said.
"Yes, Captain"Cyle and William said.
When the guards outside the door saw Paikea running they thought he was going to warn them about something. But once they realized that wasn't the case they stopped Paikea from entering the brig.
"You may not enter, Cadet Paikea, the Captain is interrogating the prisoner," William said.
"Look I got some information," Paikea pleaded which seemed to work. Paikea nodded at them in thanks and walked in.
"Cadet Paikea what are you doing here?" Captain Edwards asked. Paikea ignored him and walked up to Joan.
"You couldn't help yourself could you"Paikea said

TJ had gotten nothing from Joan McCormick; it was like talking to a river. Sound was coming out of her, but nothing she was saying was relevant to the captain's questions. Well, he would return to her later, as well as to Andromache.
Leaving the prisoners in the hands of security, he walked swiftly to the Bridge of the Hepta. The starbase was sounding good now, and he could use the rest.
When TJ arrived on the Bridge, the crew had just managed to lose the pursuing Warbird.
"Mr. Rosewall," he said, "set a course t' Starbase Conqueror. 'Tis time we're goin' home."

"What are you talking about? I couldn't help myself, I don't know what you are talking about. Who are you any ways?" Paikea was right, Matt had given him the answer to the Commander's condition.
It seemed that on a previous mission on the USS Hanson, Commander McCormick was made a super assasin. Some people had messed with her head and could control her without her knowing what she was doing.
"I am Cadet 2nd Class Paikea and your in the brig because you have committed treason against the Federation," Paikea informed the puzzled young women. " I'm also a friend of Matt." That information seemed to calm the women a bit.
"What I would never betray the Federation, my own mother is an admiral. Why would I betray her?" Joan asked. Everyone in the brig were startled by the Commander's actions. One second she seemed to be placid and calm, the next she was agitated and angry.
"Your implants they have been altered or damaged," Paikea said knowing that only she would know what he was talking about. The Commander sat down in her cell thinking of what she had just been told.
<Tag Joan>
"William, why are you here?" Paikea asked.
<Tag William>
Paikea eyed the Amazon queen the cell next to Joan's. He was amazed by her fighting ability, but he could not forget that she had caused the death of so many people.
"Don't you dare look at me male, you are not worthing to..."
"Look shut up, I'm out here and your in there and not even your Artemis is going to get you out of here," Paikea said as turned around.
"William I will talk to the captain about Commander McCormick, something really complicated has happened to her," Paikea said as he walked out and headed back to the bridge.
Once he reached the bridge, he was extatic to know that the Captain had finally decided to head towards Starbase Conqueror. The Hepta and the people inside her would be home in a couple of days.
"Captain there is something I need to tell you about Commander McCormick," Paikea said/

Cyle listened as Paikea spoke with Joan, somethign was definatly up, and he wanted to know what.
"we are hear to gaurd the prisoners Paikea, nothing else"
Before he could talk again with Paikea, he left the brig. Cyle looked at Joan for awhile, then went back to his post at Andromache's cell door. He stood far enough away to stay away from her, but close enough they could talk, if she wanted.
he calmly stared at her, and look in her eyes from time to time, she stopped sending threats after Cyle stopped talking to her about her threats. He just waited for what ever else was next to happen

The Hepta and the people inside her would be home in a couple of days. "Captain, there is something I need to tell you about Commander McCormick," Paikea said. "Speak up, then, m'lad," answered the captain.
TJ listened intently to Paikea's explanation of what had happened to Commander McCormick, at first with an expression of hardness, but which gradually softened as the explanation was offered. He was glad there were extenuating circumstances in the Commander's favor. Perhaps, then, at her court martial the judges would be more lenient, and her career would not be destroyed.

Joan couldn't believe what she had heard. She was amazed that he knew anything of her, and that she had betrayed the Federation.
"Okay, cadet, if I am malfuntioning again, please inform the captain of what is going on. I can't do anything, oh and do me a favor, find Leena. She should be in my quarters still. She was going to take a nap, and for some reason I can't contact her from here. Tell her to come to me here, as I need her." She says still sitting on the bed, but staying quiet instead of finishing her song. Something did indeed feel wrong, but Joan couldn't put her finger on it. The cadet left, and she was again alone with the guards and the queen.
"Cadet Hunter or Cadet Johnson, have I really betrayed the Federation?" She says still in disbelief. Neither have a chance to answer as Leena strolls in shaking her head.
"You seem to like this place don't you, Joan. I always find you here sooner or later." She says laying down beside Joan's cell.
"This isn't where I expected to be. Did Paikea inform you of what was going on?" Joan says, and Leena only looks at her.
Yes, Joan, he informed me of what was going on with you, or at least what he thought was going on. I admit I never thought that this would happen. It could be the problem though, as that virus messed with your systems. It helped to erase the assassin programing you had, so it could have made something malfunction. I have no idea what though, your the engineer here. Leena thinks, and Joan just shakes her head.
Yes, I know I'm the engineer, but I can't figure out what's wrong. I need you to go inside my head like you do, then maybe we might have an answer to this mess. Joan thinks, and Leena just nods closing her eyes. Here goes then. Leena thinks before jumping into Joan's head.
Joan contects to Leena like she normally does, and finds herself looking at a lot of numbers. She realizes it is the code inside her mind, and she starts to roll through it to see if the numbers are right.
In an hour Joan comes across a large gap in the numbers, and she jumps it to see how many gaps there truely are.
After several hours of numbers, Joan comes to the end of the code, and disconnects from Leena finding several people outside her cell.

The conversation with the Captain turned out to be much easier than Paikea anticipated. He at least thought that the Captain would be spectacle of Paikea's findings, but he was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Captain excepted these findings and would help Paikea in proving Commander McCormick's innocence.
"Thank you sir, but there is one more thing," Paikea said hoping that the Captain wouldn't object to this either.
"I need to have access to Commander McCormick's medical and classified information related to the five last missions she too part in on the Hanson," Paikea said," I'm sure her condition is somewhere in there."
"Okay Cadet you have a go, you can access her records, but make sure not to overreach your bounds m'lad," Captain said. Paikea quickly headed to wards his console and took out the information he would need and downloaded it to the PADD in his hand. Paikea then decided to do what Commander McCormick had asked of him. He would go to her quarters and talk to the creature named Leena. Matt had told him so much about this special creature and how she would gladly give him invaluable advise.
So Matt quickly made his way to wards the guest quarters and entered Joan's quarters.
"Who are you?" he heard Leena said.
"Hello Leena, my name is Paikea, Matt has told me so much about you," Paikea said smiling at the marvelous sight that was Leena.
"How is Matt?" Leena asked cheerfully," I bet he is doing great on the Jefferson."
"Yeah he is, but that isn't the reason I'm here," Paikea started," Its about Joan." Paikea went on to explain to Leena what had happened the last couple of days and Joan's actions. Paikea had the impression that Leena wasn't surprised.
"I knew this could happen," Leena said as she headed to wards the brig.
"What are you going to do?" Paikea asked.
"Like you, I'm going to try and help her," Leena said," Paikea please don't disturb us until 1800 hours please. By the way nice meeting you Pai." Paikea smiled as he realized that Leena had read his mind and found his nickname. He of course would do ask he was asked and decided to go to his quarters. It was only 0600 hours and Paikea was off-duty, so he decided that he would work on Joan's condition and catch up on some other things as well.

With Andromache safely locked in the brig, and avoidance of the Warbird's pursuit, the mission of the Hepta was nearly over. All that had to be done now was to turn over this very dangerous lady to Starfleet Command to stand trial, where she would be facing an accusatory panel having representatives from all of the major groups she and her crew had victimized.
TJ breathed a deep sigh of relief, yet one that was tinged with sadness at the loss of so many crew members on the Amazon's planet's surface, as he went over the various casualty reports.
When he saw the name of Commander Chan on the lists, he panicked. She had been severely injured in battle, and was recuperating in Sickbay. He was relieved to read that the prognosis for her recovery was highly favorable. Still, he wanted to go visit her. She, after all, had been there for him when he had been injured by the Felaurii.
"Captain," came a voice that woke him from his thoughts. "We are now approaching the starbase."
TJ's thoughts would not let go. This was a somber moment, and his concern for Commander Chan was more than obvious.
"Do ye have an ETA for me, cadet?"
"Three hours, sir," answered the cadet at the helm.
"Very well, then. Inform me when we are approximately one-half hour from starbase.
"Mr. O'Connor," TJ said, his face contorted with anxiety. "Might I be persuadin' ye t' take command for awhile? 'Tis weighin' on me mind with a couple things I need t' be doin'."

Joan realized exactly what was wrong with her, and she didn't like it at all. "Leena, where is Paikea, and why isn't he here?" Joan says remembering the cadet who seemed willing to help her out of this jam.
"I told him not to come until 1800. I figured we need time to figure a few things out, and it seemed like he had something he wanted to try as well. I didn't realize we would figure this out so soon, and I could have him here now if needed." Leena responds, but Joan tells her not to bother him just yet.
"Leena, I need to be recoded. I have several gaps in my code, and unfortunately that is what is causing the malfuntion. I had no idea this would happen, or I wouldn't have come on this mission. I need major help here, and I am afraid only you and that cadet are the only one who are willing to help right now. I won't be much help in this, as I don't have a clue when I will be going out into another one of those gaps. I am going to go into a trance, once there I want you to enter my mind to see if you can remember what belongs in those gaps. If you can, then please recode that area, if not then don't worry about it. I will have to just live with those until we can get an expert on our side." She says not very happy about all this. Leena just nods, and Joan sits on her bed cross legged. She closes her eyes going into a deep trance, then Leena enters her mind to get to work.
Joan opens her eyes hearing a voice. Once she is out of her trance, she tries to stand up finding her legs protesting all the way. She sits on her bed with her legs in front of her, when she realizes Paikea is in front of her cell again.
"We have found the malfuntion. I don't know how much you know about me, but last mission we found I have a positronic brain, and part of the code has gaps in it. Leena has been trying to recode those gaps to what they were, but I feel as if she wasn't successful. Were you Leena, and what did you find out Paikea?" Joan says sad about the attempt not going well.
"Well, I did manage to fix several of those gaps, but unfortunately I couldn't fix all of them. You still have four or five major gaps left over. I'm sorry I couldn't help more." Leena reports, and Joan smiles at her trying to reassure her she did great.

"We have found the malfunction. I don't know how much you know about me, but last mission we found I have a positronic brain, and part of the code has gaps in it," Joan said. Paikea had discovered this fact about halfway through his investigation into Commander McCormick. Her medical record just didn't make sense, and when he reached the classified part he was surprised at what he was reading. He had never heard or even thought possible, a human could survive with a postitronic brain. "Well, I did manage to fix several of those gaps, but unfortunately I couldn't fix all of them. You still have four or five major gaps left over. I'm sorry I couldn't help more." Leena reports, and Joan smiles at her trying to reassure her she did great. "I do have some good news there, Commander," Paikea said as he walked closer to the cell. "I have also found your malfunction and I'm pretty sure I can fix two of your major gaps." Commander McCormick and Leena both smiled at the news. "There is one problem, I'm not telepathic and I won't be able to fix the problem," Paikea said grudgingly. For the first time ever Paikea wished he was Vulcan. "That can be fixed," Leena said walking up closer to Paikea. Paikea didn't know what she meant, but accepted the fact that they must know what they were talking about. ~Hey,~ Leena said inside Paikea's head. Paikea started to freak out a little which Leena excepted. ~Don't freak out, see I told you I can fix that problem~Leena said. Paikea got used to the feeling of Leena in his head, when he almost fell over when he felt the presence of Commander McCormick. ~Are you okay~ Commander McCormick asked. ~Yes ma'am~ Paikea responded. Paikea thought that his answer would come out in voice, but he responded with his mind. Paikea deactivated the cell and walked in. Much to the dismay and alarm of the security in the brig. ~What do we do next?~ Paikea asked waiting for them to initiate the process before he started to help out the Commander. Leena quickly moved forward to wards Joan once again, which gave Paikea the impression that he should do the same. He sat down cross-legged right across from the Commander. "Is everyone ready?" Leena asked out loud. Paikea knew that he would never be ready for what they were about to do, but he forced himself to do it. "Okay here we go," Leena said. Everything went blank and then a sharp twinge of pain shot behind Paikea's eyes. ~Open your eyes Pai~ Leena said. Paikea was surprised at what he was seeing. There was Commander McCormick's body was laid down on a table surrounded by what seemed to be an immense puzzle and strings that led to the far reaches of the dark place that must be Joan's mind. ~Joan right now is out of phase with her body, she is asleep and will not wake up until I wake her~Leena explained to Paikea. Paikea knew what he had to do immediately and he also understood why Leena couldn't fix Joan's entire problem. Her mind was immense and complex and he himself wondered if he would be able to do what he said he was able to do. Paikea breathed out and went to work. Off: I don't know how to really explain this part, but if anyone can do it It would be Joan. A While Later Paikea was exhausted and his body was telling him to sleep, but of course there would be now way he would be doing that. The link to Commander McCormick had just been broken by Leena. The remaining damage was not repaired because Paikea could not do it. They would have to find an expert at these types of brains. "Thank you Pai," Leena said as she nudged her friend back to the waking world. "I'm sorry I couldn't fix the entire problem Commander," Paikea said sadly. "No Cadet I would like to thank you immensely, you have done something for me that few people would of even thought of," Joan said as she slowly got up to the bench in the cell. =^=Cadet Paikea to Captain Edwards=^= =^=Go ahead cadet=^= =^=The process is complete, I have repaired everything that I could. I will be reporting to the bridge shortly=^= =^=Good to hear Cadet and tell the Commander that she is free to go to her quarters, but that there will be guards set outside her door=^= =^=Aye sir=^= "Commander, I will check up on you later," Paikea said as he got up from his position and asked the guard to escort Commander McCormick and Leena back to their quarters. It was a slow walk to wards the bridge, but he finally got their. "Welcome back Cadet," Commander O'Connor said as he took his station. Paikea quickly acknowledged the Commander and pressed a few buttons. "Are you okay Cadet," Commander Ford asked of his only cadet. "Yes sir, just tired," Paikea said. "Well you will be happy to know that we are about an hour and a half from Star base Conqueror," William said smiling. "What really?" Paikea said quickly coming back to life. The fact that they were so close to home brought energy back into his life. "Well then I guess I should do the reports," Paikea said hoping that it would make the time speed up. "Sorry Cadet, but I already did that," Commander Penfold said. "You have nothing to do for now," Commander Ford said smiling. Paikea gave a big moan of displeasure, which brought a laugh from the entire bridge staff, especially the cadets. "Captain Edwards can you please report to the bridge, we are about to reach the station," Commander O'Connor said over the comm. <Tag Captain TJ Edwards>

Cyle and William stood in the brig, keeping an eye on the two people inside the cells. Cyle eyes kept shifting towards Andromache, but she didnt seem to care about him much any more.
Cyle and William kept gaurd up until Paikea walked back into the brig, Cyle nodded at him and stepped aside from the cell holding Commander McKormick.
Paikea deactivated the cell and walked in. Much to the dismay and alarm of the security in the brig. "What are you.." Willaim began, but Cyle silenced him and held a hand out to the security team, motioning for them to stand still.
"leave him" Cyle walked into the cell with him and stood back, watching. He noticed that Paikea, Joan, and an animal he didnt have time to identify, were all talking. Only they werent talking, it confused Cyle for amoment, but he let them continue.
He stpped back out of the cell, and told William to take a break.
" go ahead, i'll be fine"
<william>
Cyle moved over to the cell with the Amazonian Queen, and pushed in a tray of food. "eat" he said stenly, more as a strong suggestion than an order.

OFF:
This is joint post between Dr. Johnson and myself.
ON:
She was feeling far better now.
Two and one-half hours had passed, and Xin-Ling was anxious to get up from the biobed and back on duty. Already twice Dr. Barbara Johnson had to restrain her from doing so, reminding her of Dr. Mackler’s orders to stay in bed for a full three hours. Reluctantly, with a pout, the Asian officer submitted to Barbara’s counsel to ‘do as Dr. Mackler ordered.”
By this time, of course, Xin-Ling’s awareness of her surroundings had totally returned, and she was pain-free, due to the effects of the lidosol.
“How much longer I have?” Xin-Ling asked Barbara, obviously annoyed at being confined to the biobed.
“Take it easy, Puddin’,” answered the ship’s counselor. “Just you look on this as an enforced break, and take it easy ‘til she let’s yah get up. ‘Sides, yah only have another thirty minutes.”
“Ai-yah!” she protested as she folded her arms in frustration.
“Now, don’t be impatient. The time’ll pass right quick.”
Suddenly, at the entrance to Sickbay, Xin-Ling saw the captain, and called Barbara’s attention to his presence.
“There – at doorway. Look.”
Barbara Johnson turned and let out a gasp, then broke into a smile. She glanced back at Xin-Ling, and saw her own happy expression reflected in her normally stoic face. Looking back at the form of Captain Edwards, who had just this instant entered Sickbay, she stood beside Xin-Ling’s bed, beaming at him, and spoke.
“Oh, honey, I’m so glad yo’re here!”
She noted with amusement TJ’s face turning a slightly crimson shade, and mentally filed that information away in the event she would need it to ... [ahem!] ”persuade” ... him to her way of thinking anytime in the near future. Though it was officially frowned upon, she liked the idea of having something to blackmail the captain into buying her a mint julep in the Rec Hall during off-duty hours.
“Puddin’ has been a good girl, purty much, but still, she’s been tryin’ to get up before the doctor wants her to. Might take a commanding officer’s order to keep her down another twenty – thirty minutes.”
TJ nodded, then smiled gently at the Asian.
“Ye hear that, me hero? ‘Tis as your captain I’m tellin’ ye t’ stay there in compliance with Dr. Mackler’s orders.”
Xin-Ling was on the verge of tears. She had been injured before the captain was released from his bonds on the altar, and had gone from intense worry about her captain – and her friend’s – life on the deathbed under Andromache’s sacrificial knife to this point of relief.
“TJ!” she called out before she could catch herself
“’Tis so pleased I am t’ see you’re goin’ t’ be fine.”
He pulled up a chair, and there, the three friends shared together, Xin-Ling occasionally letting a tear of relief and happiness sneak by the iron barrier that was her Asian upbringing.

Katie finished up helping out the engineer and walked back to check on the condition of her station. As she walked the length of the bridge she could tell that spirits were now high as the attitude of the bridge was overwhelmingly light hearted.
Going over her station Katie found everything was now looking more normal than it had hours ago. Just as Katie was about to get a hold of her instructor a new cadet came to the bridge to relieve her of duty. Katie was relieved to be able to wind down for the day.
As she left the bridge Katie spotted Paikea talking with male instructor, she wanted to stop and talk to him but felt it was better to let them continue their conversation. After a few minutes of turbo lift rides and slow walking to keep her side from hurting Katie finally made her way to the lounge and to it's closest replicator.
"Hot lemon tea with two sugar cubes." Katie said.
The tea appeared instantly in front of her eyes. Picking up the glass Katie walked over to one of the secluded window seats on the lounge. As she made her way to her seat of choice she said hello to the other cadets in the lounge. Sitting down in the chair facing the stars Katie slowly sipped her tea and let her mind drift as she watched the stars streak past the window.
Tears began to run slowly down her face as Katie thought about her family. She never thought her life would ever be in danger aboard a ship, she felt she always going to be safe. Katie didn't feel safe at this moment, she felt unprotected and scared. She worried what her mother would say to her about her actions, her wounds. Katie thought about what would have happened if she didn't receive the medical attention she needed. Those thoughts brought about more tears as Katie began to cry, but at the same time trying to keep silent enough to not alert anybody. Grabbing a cotton napkin Katie began to wipe away the tears as she tried to regain her composure.

Paikea, with no work to do, proved to be quite a talker. He told William and Penfold of his background, how much he'd enjoyed the mission, and all the things he's learned. He was getting to the part about Joan, but then abruptly broke off. William smiled, remembering the time he's almost been strangled by the other instructor. "Don't worry about her," he said. "She'll be fine. There's enough evidence in her favour that she won't be condemmed if given a fair trial for her actions, and more than enough people that will help her."
"I know," said Paikea, unconvinced.
William grinned. "There's several things I've hoped you learned about Starfleet, Paikea - honesty, friendships, the rest of the stuff you already knew... but its mostly about learning when to interfere and when to let things go. Sometimes you need to let things go - minor taunts by fellow officers, pranks, etc. But its almost more important to know when you sometimes need to do the opposite. Overstep your bounds, so things unexpected, sometimes even frowned upon, if you know its the right thing. What you did was one of those times that the right thing was right in the eyes of society. But the right thing won't always look right to everyone else. You've still got to do it, though, even if it means losing your position in Starfleet. You can't let theories interfere with how you act and why you act."
Paikea nodded. "I think I understand. You mean that, even if I try to do something good, I might not be praised for it."
"Right," said Penfold. "And sometimes, you won't see anything good come of it. Maybe nothing will. But... well, when you have time, look up an old Earth guy named Gandhi."
Paikea filed away the name for future research.
"Now, I understand there's a certain cadet you've taken a liking to," began William.
Paikea brightened visibly. "I don't think I need too much advice there, sir," he said.
"Well, I was just going to offer one small idea," said William. "You might get assigned to separate ships. If you do, make sure you keep up with each other. And this goes for all your Adacemy classmates. Stay in touch. Its not always easy, but trust me - you'll be sorry if you don't."
"Aye, sir," said Paikea, wondering what had brought this odd mood upon his instructors.
"Incidentally, she's off-duty," said William, turning his attention to his station. Penfold smiled as Paikea blushed slightly, gave a quick 'thanks' and headed off the Bridge.

Joan lay sleeping while Paikea entered her mind to complete the task at hand. She starts to dream, and finds herself in a large meadow with several animals around her. She is suddenly afraid, and then the fear leaves her as she realizes these animals aren't going to hurt her. She follows the animals down a path.
Meanwhile, Pai is in her mind working hard to restore the portion of her mind where a large gap is. It seems that she has forgotten a large part of her memory, and he doesn't work with that part of the gap, because he doesn't have access to those memories. Instead he works on another part of her memory, the part where she joined up with Matt Reynolds and forward. He hopes he get the information correct, but he can't be sure. He works nervously to correct this gap, but he only gets rid of half of it, and then half of the second gap disappears as well. He moves on to a different gap realizing what was once there. He puts in a large ammount of information, and then finds himself being called out.
Suddenly Joan is pulled out of her dream, and finds she is face to face again with Paikea. She hears the captain say she is allowed to go to her quarters, and she is a little relieved. She still can't remember several things that happened in her youth, or when she joined up, but something felt a little funny when she thought about admirals. She wonders why, but dismisses it for now. She also has something about doctors, but decides best not to think about that either.
Upon entering her quarters, she lays down on the bed to relax for now, knowing that if anyone wanted her, they would know where she was. Leena jumps up on the bed lying down next to her.
Riz works around the clock to try and fix the computer problem, and then she realizes it was just her station. She reports that she is going down to Engineering, and then leaves the bridge running into no one in particular. Once in engineering, she starts to get the reports ready for the captain, knowing that he would want one.
Lt. Johnson had left the bridge heading for Ten Forward. She realized then that she forgot to tell Cadet Anderson to get the reports ready for the captain. =/\=Lt. Johnson to Cadet Anderson=/\=
She gets a response quickly. "Cadet, I need you to get a report ready for the captain. It needs to sum up what happened at our station during our mission. It needs to be handed in in the next hour. Johnson out." She says going to the bar for a drink, and then picking out a table near the window to relax.

"Incidentally, she's off-duty," said William. Paikea took the advice and dismissed himself from his two instructors. He found it quite strange that his instructors were giving him this advice, but that truly didn't matter. They were correct in what they said, Starfleet was a medium for long life friendships.
"Deck 4" Paikea said as he realized that he hadn't said anything to the computer and he had been standing there for the past three minutes. The trip to the cadet quarters was like always most uneventful, but then again Paikea liked it like that.
This inactivity got Paikea thinking about what really had happened on this mission. He of course learned a lot about the runnings of a Federation starships and the science department, but there was so much more. He learned that no matter what there is no such thing as a safe easy mission. People that you barely know or people that you have come to care for dearly may die on missions. It comes with the job Paikea thought, but was the job worth doing.
Paikea reached Katie's quarters and asked to enter, but nothing came. Paikea then realized that he hadn't made sure if she was in her quarters.
"Computer located Katie Anderson"
"Katie Anderson is in the lounge"
Paikea did an about face and headed towards the lounge. Paikea's train of thought was broken up when he finally reached the lounge and the doors whissed open. Once he got there he got the distinct impression that he was hearing someone crying. It was a soft cry, like someone was not trying to cry, but couldn't help it.
Paikea searched the lounge and saw that it was Katie who was crying. Paikea made a V-line towards Katie and tried to talk to her, but when Katie saw him she just started to sob more.
So there they were, in the middle of the lounge, Paikea just there comforting Katie while she cried on his shoulder.

"Captain Edwards, can you please report to the bridge, we are about to reach the station," Commander O'Connor said over the comm. When the announcement of the proximity of Starbase Conqueror was made, TJ reluctantly stood to his feet and bid both Dr. Johnson and Xin-Ling good-bye. He had stayed longer than he intended, and still needed to interview the Amazonian prisoner. No time for that now, though; he had to report to the Bridge.
Moments later, the doors to the Bridge opened with a whoosh! and TJ entered, walking briskly to the center chair.
"Thirty minutes from destination, captain," said the cadet at the helm.
"Very good, m'lad.
"Now, I have a wee assignment for ye. I want ye t' make your way t' th' ship's brig, an' inform th' War Queen I'll be interviewin' her shortly, after we pull into space dock. 'Tis hopin' I am t' make some connection with her."
Mr. Rosewall left the Bridge to comply, and immediately Paikea took his place at the Helm.
"Slow down t' warp factor one," TJ ordered in preparation for the approach to the home port.

=/\=Lt. Johnson to Cadet Anderson=/\=
Katie jumped in her seat facing the window as a single voice coming over the communications channel startled her.
"This is Cadet Anderson." Katie replied
"Cadet, I need you to get a report ready for the captain. It needs to sum up what happened at our station during our mission. It needs to be handed in in the next hour. Johnson out."
"I'll get right on it." Katie replied.
Katie leaned back over and continued to wipe her eyes. It seemed that more and more people were getting off duty as the crew lounge was quickly filling up and Katie started to feel uncomfortable since her eyes were red from crying. Katie began to turn back around to face window when she spotted Paikea heading straight for her. She cracked a smile the best she could but it seemed the young man was not buying it.
Paikea sat down with out a word and wrapped his arms around her. Katie instantly felt safe and secure in the Paikea's strong arms. She felt him kiss the top of her head and whisper soft words of encouragement into her ears.
"I'm sorry I look like a mess." Katie said wiping her eyes.
"You look fine." Paikea replied.
Katie shook her head trying to be as playful as possible.
"Hey, now that we are here would you like to have dinner with me?" Paikea asked.
Katie looked up at Paikea, her eyes wide with excitement.
"I would love that, but can I freshen up and change first?" Katie asked.
"Sure." Paikea replied.
Katie wiped her eyes one last time before the two walked out of the lounge and headed for the nearest turbo lift. The entire way Paikea held Katie close and Katie wouldn't have it any other way.

Joan gets up to check the computer, and then she remembers the crew of the Hanson, and goes over to see what else she can find out, just in case her memory returns. She sees a picture of the admiral who served as captain, and for some reason she thinks of the word 'mom'. She shakes her head, as if she is clearing it, and continues through the list.

Off: Joint Post between myself and Paikea.
On:
It was very strange for Paikea to see Katie crying. He had thought of her as rock solid, but he quickly realized that she too was human. It will happen to me Paikea realized. Thats why I chose not to take a brake and help out Joan. I'm afraid that I will break down if I stop and think of everyone who died and the fact that I could of died. But then again he was alive. As they walked Katie could tell something was on Paikea's mind, she waited a couple of minutes before she asked, "What's on your mind?"
"Oh its nothing," Paikea said lying. He didn't want to talk about what he was feeling right now because if he let his emotions out he would be a mess and he didn't think he could handle it right now
Katie had a feeling he wasn't telling her the truth but she wasn't about to start prying into another person's business. They walked arm in arm until they reached Katie's quarters.
Paikea knew that Katie didn't believe him and he was grateful that she didn't press the issue at the moment. He was hear for her not the other way around. "Well I'll let you get dressed," Paikea said as they reached Katie's quarters
"Sounds good." Katie said with a big smile.
Paikea returned her smile and sat down outside her quarters. If people didn't know better it looked as if he had just gotten into a fight and was trying to cool off by just sitting there.
"Aren't you going to change?" Katie asked when she saw Paikea sit down on the floor. Paikea hadn't thought about that, but realized that it would be weird for him to be in uniform and for her to be in civilian clothes. "I forgot," Paikea said blushing and quickly stood up and headed to wards his quarters, which were not to far away from hers.
Katie watched him walk down the hall way before she turned around giggling to herself. Walking into her quarters Katie went right straight for the bedroom to pick out something to wear. She didn't want to be over dressed, but she wanted to look nice for Paikea.
Paikea entered his room slowly and walked towards the shower. Paikea hoped that Katie would be like most girls and take her time. He quickly undressed and turned on the water. As the water ran down his back, Paikea could not hold his tears anymore. So there he was letting his grief come out in the shower, thankfully for him there would be now way anyone would hear him. After what seemed an eternity Paikea stopped crying and walked out of the shower and quickly dressed. At least I didn't cry in front of Katie, Paikea thought.
Paikea found his favorite blue shirt and slacks and dressed. After he was done getting dressed he left his room and waited for Katie to finish.
Katie tried to get ready as fast as she could but it was useless, she eventually gave in and began to take her time. Katie realized only moments after getting into the shower she had left her matching red shoes back in her quarters on the star base.
"I better replicate some new ones fast." She said out loud.
Standing in front of the door just before the door sensor Katie bit her bottom lip. She was excited and her stomach was swarming with butterflies.
Paikea was just looking around noticing all the details in the corridors and he came to the realization that it was very bland. Paikea heard the door open and his mouth just dropped. He had seen Katie for weeks now, but never like this. Her light brown hair was down to her shoulder blades, something that she had never done before. Paikea then noticed the dress, a beautiful red number. It magnified her beauty and by now Paikea was drooling.
"Your looking handsome." Katie said with a smile.
Katie slowly walked into the hallway giving Paikea a chance to look her over. Paikea smiled back and they slowly locked arms and began to walk down the hallway together.
"So where you want to go?" Paikea asked. He had already gotten four hours of holodeck time and they could eat something there.
"Surprise me."
Paikea had the perfect idea. It was a beautiful island in the Caribbean on Earth. It was a beautiful place along side the beach.
"I got it," Paikea said as he quickened the pace a little.
Katie let Paikea lead the way as he didn't tell her where he was taking her. Katie had to admit she didn't know if Paikea already had a place picked out or not, but at the pace they were walking Paikea had a plan.
They quickly made their way to the holodeck and by that time they were breathing a little heavier. "Well hear we are," Paikea said as he pressed in a few buttons."After you."
As Katie walked into the holodeck she could hear the sounds of an ocean, it was dark, the only light was being provided by several torches and a bright full moon. Katie took a few more steps to allow room for Paikea to enjoy the view, as she walked she felt herself sink a bit. Looking down she noticed her heel had sunk a bit into some soft sand. Katie looked back up and smiled at Paikea, she had always loved the beach and it looked like a wonderful place to have dinner.
Paikea chuckled as he felt Katie sink a bit, and Katie just gave him a smile. "Welcome to Paradise," a holographic hostess said as she motioned for them to follow them.
"Oh, just a second." Katie said.
She bent down and unbuckled the ankle straps on her shoes before she quickly took them off. The hostess then led them down the beach some more to a secluded spot on the sand.
Like a gentleman Paikea of course pulled out the beach chair and let Katie sit and he quickly followed suit. It turned out to be Katie's time to laugh since Paikea sunk about 4 inches as the chair sunk into the beach.

They were both walking back to thier quarters. While on their date, both of them where told that they were close to the Conqueror. This realization made them realize that they should report back to the bridge. "Katie I had a great time..." Paikea started, but was cut off when Katie kissed him. The kiss lingered for a minute, but they quickly seperated once they heard footsteps down the corridor. "Well see you in a bit," Katie said as she entered her quarters. <Tag Katie> Paikea quickly ran towards his room and changed into a fresh uniform. Paikea wanted to be their once they returned to the base so he didn't wait for Katie. He was totally surprised when he arrived and she was already there. He was about to say something, but the Captain said. Mr. Rosewall left the Bridge to comply, and immediately and Paikea took his place at the Helm.
"Slow down t' warp factor one," TJ ordered in preparation for the approach to the home port. Everyone was surprised when he did, but said nothing. "What can't I do something other than science," Paikea said smiling as the navigation console alerted him that they were being contacted by the base. =^=Hepta welcome home=^= Paikea was expecting for Commander O'Connor to respond, but he did not. "Why don't you do that Cadet," O'Connor said smiling. =^=Conqueror this is the Hepta, glad to be back home=^= At that moment Paikea recieved the cooridnates for where they were to dock. Paikea gave a sigh of relief as he finally let his mind know that his Academy days were over. Off: We're almost home,

There was silence on the bridge, it wasn't a brooding silence, but one of anticipation. Paikea was no longer flying towards the base, he had of course put auto pilot on to enjoy the last couple of minutes as a cadet.
Beep, Beep, Beep
The USS Hepta, Flagship of Third Fleet had arrived at her destination, Starbase Conqueror. At that exact moment cheers and laughter erupted from the cadets on the bridge. The officer's stood and gave them a round of applause.
"Give me shipwide," Captain Edwards said as he walked into the bridge.
=^=Good work Cadets, Officers, you have successfully completed your training mission. As of 1546 hours you are free to go. But remember you got graduation coming up=^=
Paikea pressed a couple of buttons and attached the Hepta to her home base. The Hepta would sleep until the next batch of cadets needed her.
OFF: Congrates guys we are offically done and can post on the Conqueror

Cyle gratefully accepted the news of their arrival at the star base. He and William rejoiced in the brig, as the security officers present clapped for them. Cyle stopped shortly afterward and went to the cell with Andromache. "well, you wont see me again for quite awhile, at least until your trial, i don't know if i will asked to say anything or not. Good bye"<Andromache> Cyle and William rushed to the bridge, hoping to catch the other cadets before everyone left the ship. Upon arrival , the bridge personnel cheered for them and gave congratulatory smacks on the back, and hand shakes. OFF: See Paikea, i told you it would work
