Back on a level ship for the moment at least, Harrias was pleased to feel his stomach returning back to a much more normal position. While they had managed to get back into their own galaxy, something Harrias had a theory about that he wanted to check out with Zimmerman, they were still short of dilithium. They had managed to capture the alien vessel, but all it had done was bring them back into normal space, it hadn't given them information on how to do it themselves. But then, that made sense. The Federation's own Prime Directive meant that should the same thing have happened with a Federation ship and a species of lower technology level, the Federation Captain would most definitely not have told anyone how to acheive warp.
The trill was extremely surprised to find out that there was now deuterium on the ship, and he commed Kivan, asking him to check out the stability of it, and then went up to Stellar Cartography, where he met Zimmerman.
"Ensign, a moment?"
"Course Sir."
"I was thinking about the way in which we were transported to the other galaxy. Is it possible that there was a fold in space? That in fact all the other vessel was doing was tapping into this fold and opening it, thus creating a tunnel between two points that linearly are millions of lightyears apart?"
"You mean like some kind of artificial wormhole." The science officer's mind was running over the theory, seeing how well it fit.
"Well, yes something like that." This got him a hmm, and then the science officer started to run a quick computer simulation.
"Ha! Got it! Commander, thank you for your... assistance. I can't tell you how they did it, but the 'tunnel' was in fact a black hole, which sucked us through into the other galaxy. It is likely that it was a fold in space. The wormhole idea, triggered something I heard rumours about a few years ago. Wow! There was speculation that with a black hole with a small enough Schwarzschild radius, it would be possible to transcend space, but it was only a theory. I'm going to get published in the Federation Science Journal for sure!"
Harrias smiled at him. "Great, make sure to mention me." He laughed slightly, and then headed down to engineering.

Max Power was relieved he didn't have to do much that mission.
Max "Crisis over!"
Crewmember(male) "shall we...make out?
Max "Now? But...its steak time. And with you? no."
Cremember(male) "Understood sir."
Max headed off to his room. He had a BBQ installed into his quarters so he could cook steak. "Must install one on the bridge and Engineering" he thought to himself, cause in a moment of crisis, he needed his steak. "will speak to the Captain bout that tomorrow"
Max headed off to bed once he ate his steak. Who knows what tomorrow food he will eat.

OFF: You know Max, I really don't want to know what your metabolism is. ;D
Kevin: "Computer. Send following transmission to Federation Science Journal HQ. Message: In my most recent mission, which was to locate the missing Federation ship Ronoak, an unidentified group of aliens from galaxy 104 (Messier catalouge) used technology only theorized about before now by Federation, and undoubtably Cardassian and Romulan, scientists; the aliens created a "fold" in space using an extremely small black hole with a radius on the Schwarzschild scale of incredibly small porportions. While our scans were inconclusive as to how to repeat this feat, we now know it to be possible. I have also comfirmed it to be artificial, and requiring large amounts of continuous energy to keep the "tunnel" from colapsing. I am enclosing the data our scans revealed with this message, as Starfleet has determined it not to be a possible breach of security. I would also like to thank Commander Herrias Jira for his contribution to our discovery. He was the one that pointed out the possibility of an artificial black hole/wormhole effect. Computer; end transmission."
"Transmission Complete."

Off
Can the ship arrive in peices of cake?
On
Max woke early and headed to Engineering. He forgot to eat his 2nd course for breakfast, only having a bowl of ice cream with chocolate topping.
Max "Crewmen Hogs"
Crewman Hogs "Yes sir!?"
Max "Can you run to the replicator and get it to replicate some nice mud cake for breakfast. Im still hungry."
Hogs "Sir? Its 0650."
Max "Are you a Doctor?"
Hogs "Um...No sir. However, it isnt a healthy diet."
Max "Are you a bird?"
Hogs "Sorry sir?"
Max "Can you eat worms?"
Hogs "What sir?"
Max "As you were"
With that, Max just walked off. He started running diagnostics on the systems to ensure everything was in order.

Mike was recovering from his trauma in sickbay. After a almost a whole day of sleep he suddenly jumped out of the biobed.
"Quickly, let's get out of here!", he said looking very worried. "Calm yourself, sir.", said the medic that rushed over to him, "You are safe and back on the Jefferson." "Am I?", said Mike with a sigh releaf, "Oh, Ok. And what time is it?" "0700, sir. Why?", said the medic. "0700?", said Mike who's panic level started raising again, "Is it still the day when I returned?" "Yes.", the medic replied.
Mike was now pale as a ghost.
=/\= Pasek to the bridge. =/\= =/\= Bridge here. Good to se you up again, Commander. =/\= =/\= It's good to be back, but we don't have the time for pleasentries now, captain. We need to get out of here and quickly. =/\= =/\= Why? what's wrong? =/\= =/\= The aliens, sir they had help in opening the portal. Natural help. =/\=
The bridge was silent for a moment. Not only did they go through an alien obduction but now it seemed that there is a natural catastrophy on the horizon.
=/\= Care to elaborate that, Mr. Pasek. =/\= =/\= The aliens needed a huge enegry source on this side to open it, and the found it. They told me them selves. =/\= =/\= Well, what is it? =/\= =/\= Do you remember how the famous Captain Kirk died the first time, and how the Enterprise C was damaged, sir? =/\=
The bridge went silent as everybody knew everything about those events.
=/\= Give it to me, Mr. Pasek. =/\= =/\= Sir, the Nexus will be here in one hour. =/\=
The panic started spreading slowly but shorely throughout the bridge.
=/\= Are you sure, Mr. Pasek? Why haven't we detected it? =/\= =/\= Sir, the sensors aren't usualy programed to search for that kind of phenomenon. Trust me, they told me, and they know. They know more about us then we do. =/\=

as the news came through to engineering that the Nexus was approaching, Harrias confirmed that the engines were ready to go. He was however slightly concerned about the speed of the Nexus.
He tapped his commbadge.
=/\= Cmdr Harrias to Ensign Zimmerman. What is the approach speed of the nexus? =/\=
=/\= Ummm... Warp 9.9999 =/\=
Harrias closed the comm link.
"Ah. Kivan. We need to make the engines go faster, go for longer, and all with less resources than we have available. Think we can manage it?"
"Not a chance."
"Oh good. That's what I thought."
Harrias decided to start panicking. By cutting a few corners, he could get the ship to sustain that speed for about 6 hours. But that would result in virtually no power after that 6 hours. Which gave them 7 hours to figure out how to stop the nexus.
=/\= Bridge. We have a problem. =/\= and he went onto explain the situation to the senior crew on the bridge, hoping that between them all they would be able to come up with some way of stopping this impending doom.

Kevin: =^= Zimmerman to Pasek.=^=
Mike:=^= Pasek here, go ahead.=^=
Kevin:=^= Sir, I havve an idea on how to stop the Nexus. When the Federation saw it last, a huge amount of energy was used to divert it's course...that's how Captain Kirk died. Which you know of course.=^=
Mike:=^= Yes, I do. I believe your hypothesis would be to use a similar approach?=^=
Kevin:=^=The only problem, sir, is that none of our weapons that I'm aware of are strong enough to change it's course...and even if they were, it would take much longer than 7 hours to calibrate their positions in respect to the Nexus. There is no way we can use that method. However, I ran a scan on the Nexus, and Cpatain Picard notes in one of his logs that the entity known as "Q" created the Nexus. (OFF: Read "The Q Continuum", by Gregg Cox.) He did so by flinging an energy band of solar material through space. I assume he changed some properities of the solar matter before launching it.=^=
Mike:=^= Ah...well, the nexus has passed through stars before now, correct? Then let's collect some of the same material for ourselves. We can change it's properties be adding-=^=
Kevin:=^= Um, sir, it took Q a few moments to make it do what he wanted, and it was obviously a very delicate change...at least by our standards. Do you really think that we could do anything to stop the Nexus?=^=
Mike:=^= Well, Mr. Zimmerman, I suggest, as a superior officer, that you try and figure something out with your science teams. I'll send some of my people over to the El Salvador. Meanwhile, I have another idea. We do have a large variety of weapons, some of which you may not be aware, and I think if I got together with a Security or Tactical Officer, I might be able to instigate a variety of explosions to alter the Nexus's course enough to allow us to escape. I will alert Captain Smith and the Commadore as to our plans of action.=^=
Kevin:=^= As you wish, sir. Zimmerman out.=^=
The CScO walked to Science Lab One, alerting all of his staff to gather in that area. Mike Pasek was having his Alpha Shift beam over directly to the Science Lab ASAP. Twenty minutes later, Kevin briefed his teams.
Kevin: "As you all know, the energy wave known as the Nexus is pursuing us. We need to try and either alter it's path or attempt to destroy it. Our job is to try to do so via solar matter. Team Delta will go out in shuttles in thirty minutes to collect it and help beam it beck to the El Slavador. Team Alpha from the Jefferson will work on theorizing when and where to impact the material in the Nexus's vicinity. The other two teams and myself will conduct the actual lab work once the materials have been deposited onboard. Any questions? Good."
OFF: Mike, if you want anything changed, just let me know.

"The nexus?" Aral said, his historical lectures quickly escaping out of his ears, "That sounds familiar..." Mike rolled his eyes at Aral and continued his conversation with CScO Zimmerman over the comm. Aral eavesdropped but got lost until they began talking about impacts and enough power to alter the course of solar matter. He quickly ran the through several calculations on his panel.
Using the amount of power that was used by Kirk and how far it altered the course of the Nexus, he found the exact impact that was needed to alter the ribbon's path. The impact would have to be enormous! Aral re-checked the calculation. Definately, no one weapon Aral could ever find on the Jefferson could produce such an explosion.
Mike was nodding as Zimmerman ended the conversation. He quickly had an ensign take his station and was going to the Science Lab.
"Mike!" Aral followed his friend in. The door closed and the turbolift started moving.
"Eavsdropping again were we?" Mike joked before Aral could say anything.
"Of course. What else did you expect? Well I've calculated the impact needed to move the ribbon." Aral showed Michael a PADD with the calculations on it. His eyes widened as he reached the final product.
"Damnit." He whispered and then shrugged glumly, "I knew it wasn't going to be easy."
Just before they reached the Science Lab's deck the turbolift stopped and let on their new engineer, Max Power. Aral recognized him from his service record.
"Mr. Power. I'm Aral Gibson CTSO. This is Michael Pasek, CScO."
"Pleasure." He smiled widely and then frowned, "I tell you- this ship needs to be updated!"
"Updated? We're top of the line, Max." Mike said.
"Well then, why did the computer just tell me it didn't know what Risan Gan'fruit Cake was?" The young man rubbed his stomach and leaned against the wall.
"I don't know what that is either." Aral laughed trying to ignore the fact that they were just wasting time.
"See! The officers need to be updated too!" Max flung his hands up in the air exasperated. Aral tried not to chuckle at his weird behavior.
"OK, well good luck with that...." Mike said slowly before looking very serious, "Max, I think before you think about cake you should be concentrating on the engines. The nexus is travelling at warp 9.9999999, we need to outrun them at least for a bit."
"eh, I can do that." Max said suprisingly calmly, before getting off at engineering, he waved, not looking back, "Good meeting you sandwiches."
"Right...." Aral waved back and then looked at Mike who nodded, "Weird fellow."
As soon as they stepped into the science lab they began working on finding what they would have to do to get the impact they needed on the nexus.

Off: Didnβt they just move out of the path of the Nexus in the movies? Max headed into engineering to talk to a crewmember "I meet the most two fascinating sandwiches in the turbo lift" Crewmember "Really?" Max "No! They were human. Anyways, they want us to "Out run" the nexus, which I find stupid." Crewmember "Why?" Max "Cause, we should just move out of its way. It doesnβt attract to us! Just like Cheese and chalk. U canβt eat chalk. Trust me I know." Crewmember " o...k" Max quickly told Aral of his suggestion over the comms and Aral said he would get back to him. Max "Time for a bit of refreshment. Drink Coka-Cola! ;D" Crewmember "Your an idiot sir!" Max "Indeed I am."

OFF: Yes, Max, they did run away in the movie - however, has it ever occured to you that perhaps the Nexus is headed towars Section 47, particuarly a starbase? Or perhaps when the aliens sent us back to our regular space they accidentally polarized the Nexus so it would follow us around? And I've never eaten chalk, but I've seen someone do it before. Oh, one more thing - why is there need for chalk in the 24th century (or whatever time it is)? I think the PADDs use touch-screen technology. I mean, its just a wild guess, but maybe, just maybe, there is no chalk in the whole of Section 47. Oh, the horror!

βJefferson Bridge β
Commodore Loskene remained calm amongst the chaos surrounding him on the bridge as officers are moving all a round him caring out there Assignments . Loskene knowing there was nothing he could do for now had to step back and rely upon the highly Star fleet trained officers to complete there task in coming up with a working plan that would work.
The USS El, Salvador had begun to analyze the sensors Data sent back by the launch Atmosphere Probes one of the probes has lot more then 50% of its power for no reason that any of the science or engineering officers can explain ..
Security teams had deployed al over the ship along side of our small components of Marines we had on Board , most of the Science Department was busy number crunching; monitoring the situation and supplying any relevant updates. Engineering were in the bowels of the power ship and the shield generators fighting to get them all secured and online. There was a tension in the air, expectancy of impending danger echoed around the Alien star base . 10 minute warning clearly would not been enough if anything went wrong.
Cmdr Matthew β looked down at his Consol that was flashing red and noticed Loskene doing the same, at the same time the Bridge Science Station officer turn and says sir there a incoming energy Beam Heading for us the Bridge operations turned to the Commodore . "Impact in 62 sec!"
Commander Matthew said unnecessarily, " Well this is going to Hurt! At least we have some warning!" Cmdr Matthewβ notify Captain Smith if they have not already pick it up on the sensors Alert all Decks to standby for Impact ~~~~~~~~~
Commander Matthew > then said Science Station , we need and estimation of how bad this will be and how long we can expect it to last? Security, keep us informed of casualties and tie in with medical! Engineering we need to ride this through, those shields are imperative but we also need to ensure the structural integrity fields are maintained in the! STOPS we need to keep communications open to the El, Salvador , I want a constant update on anything that seems relevant?"
Commander βMatthew and Commodore Loskene then held onto the arms of their chair as the wave hit the ship. So far so good it could have been worse but only Light damage reported. ==/\== End log ==/\==

Off Zimmerman: Stop being so right. On Max had the engines ready to go. He shut down some non-esscential items. Crewmember "We still need bout 2% more power!" Max "I know. I am the Cheif Engineer. What do you think i do all day? You think i can't read or something?" Crewmember "Sorry sir." Max looked at the ships power outlay. where could he get 2% more power? He looked around. The BBQ in his quarters. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" he shouted in the middle of engineering, before breaking into tears. Crewmember "whats wrong?" Max "I have to shut down my BBQ to get the required amount of power" Crewmember "The BBQ takes up 2% of the ships power? " Max "Are you wearing your underwear today?" Crewmember "Um yes sir...why?" Max "Cause i am too. Shut down myBBQ. i cant do it." With Max sitting in the corner sobbing, the crewmembers shut down the bbq.

Post by Savot on Jul 3, 2004 1:23:22 GMT
As the two majestic Starfleet vessels soared away from the oncoming Nexus at maximum velocity, Savot sat at his console, monitoring the ever-dwindling distance between them and the energy ribbon. Upon examining a sensor scan of the ribbon, however, his eyebrow elevated and he turned at his station to face the Captain. "Captain Smith, I recommend we alter course back to our original sighting of the Ronoak." One or two of the bridge crew had their mouths wide open at the suggestion, but the senior staff just looked at him curiously, assuming he had good reason.
"Ok, Mr. Savot.", said Smith from the center seat. "I'm assuming you have a reason for your suggestion, so please share with us. What does our original position have that the space in front of us doesn't?"
Savot nodded and said simply. "The energy-absorbing string clusters, sir. At last report they had yet to shut down, although they were reacting oddly. At maximum warp we may be able to return to them before they shut themselves down."
Deis Irae, returned to the bridge from the shuttle jaunt, quickly caught on to the Vulcan's thinking. "And if they yet be active, they'll either drain th' beast's energy, or by alterin' the level of energy in the surroundin' space, force it to alter course away from us!"
Commander Agalacticae followed the thinking as well, and grinned at the Captain, answering Smith's question before it was even asked, "Aye, sir. I can manuever us through that minefield of anomalies."
Steven stood from his chair and smiled, "Excellent! We'll shake this blasted thing. Savot, cross-reference your own scans with those of Science Chief Zimmerman, and relay the position of every string you can pin down directly into Mr. Agalacticae's console. Remeti, signal the Jefferson of Savot's plan and our intentions. Commander Irae, signal Jira in engineering and tell him what we're planning on putting the ship through. Aside from that, brace yourselves..."

Mike was on the Jefferson bridge feeling very strange. He knew that, for some reason, this exact time was very important. Mr. Savot and Mr. Zimmerman sent him his plans and data, so he decided to review them. As he got to the part about the energy ribbons he suddenly fell down to the floor, screaming like mad.
"AAAAAAGHHHH! Get me a doctor! Something for the pain!"
"Only trouble with you today, Mr. Pasek.", said Cmdr Matthew jumping from his chair to help him.
"Just get me up to the console...", Mike said, "They want something. They are using my implant to reach me."
"Calm youreslf, Mr. Pasek. Your gonna be fine, doc is on his way.", said Matthew picking him up from the floor.
"Stay...", Mike said, "We musn't leave. We must stay here."
His headacke was terrible, he could feel his hartbeat in every inch of his body. He didn't quite know what these aliens were, nor what they exactly wanted from them, but, for some strange reason he knew he could trust them.
"We need to be here when the start closing the string system. It's own gravitation pull will protect us from the nexus.", Mike said bearly keeping his concentration, "AAAAAGHHHH!"
Mike screamed again, receaving final data into his implant. After catching a few quick breaths in Matthew's hans, Mike got up on his feet again.
"I'm ok, sir.", Mike said standing up again, "But I need to talk to Mr. Zimmerman. We need to sort out what to do now."
"My all means, Mr. Pasek. I trust you'll fill in all of us here as well?"
"Of course.", Mike said opening a comm chanel to the El Sal's science officer.
=/\= Pasek to Zimmerman. =/\= =/\= Zimmerman here, commander. =/\= =/\= Ensign, we don't need to do anything, just rescue the Ronoak. =/\= =/\= And how's that? =/\= =/\= Well, they can't close the strings so they'll increase the gravity between them, matterialising them. =/\= =/\= You're saying that they turn their energy into matter? What will that create? =/\= =/\= According to mine and their calculations all that mass should create a large... something. =/\= =/\= Something? Cmdr. Pasek you need to be more precise, are we looking at a black hole? =/\= =/\= No, no. Much smaller but still very heavy. Think more along the lines of a binary pulsar. =/\= =/\= And the mass will divert the nexus from his path. Like that nut Soran did, only they'll create a star and he blew them up. =/\= =/\= So, Mr. Zimmerman, in my opinion this holds water. I trust they'll do their job and we just need to get the Ronoak to safety. How about you? =/\=

Zimmerman:=^= There is only one problem with your current strategy - the Ronoak is damaged, and I would not recommend trying to transport anyone while traveling at warp speed. Plus, we need all the disance we can get. Do you want to ask the Commodore, or should I ask Captain Smith?=^=
Mike:=^= I'll ask the Commodore. Pasek out.=^=
CScO Zimmerman activated his comm badge again, this time contacting Max Power.
Kevin: =^=How's it going, Chief?=^=
Max::mornful::=^=I had to turn off my BBQ program! Do you understand what this means?!=^=
Kevin::jokingly:: =^= Yeah, I do...it means you're either going on a diet, or you'll bite my head off.=^=
Max: =^=I'm sure you'll taste great with ketchup.=^=
Kevin: =^=No, I'm too thin. Try Captain Smith instead. ;D All right, seriously - I need you to relocate all you power to the transporter room on the Commodore's mark, because we'll be beaming over people from the Ronoak.=^=
Max: =^=All right.=^= Kevin turned to leave =^=Oh, and Kevin? you owe me a steak. A big, juicy steak. With fries, potato chips, and anything else I think of. Make sure you write a holodeck program to go with it.=^=
Keivn: =^=Do you like A-1 scause or not?=^=
Max: =^=Both. Use it on some steak and not on others. Now go away, and let me get to work.=^=
Kevin: =^=All right.=^=
Zimmerman then contacted Commander Jira and told him the same things he had told Max.

Kay sighed. She had been sitting behind this desk for only a few hours, reading and Writing Ship Personal reports . She wanted to be out with the troops, like she had always Done before , but was restricted by her New Position & duties. In the midst of everything that has happen, she was bored. So, she decided to send a message to the Executive officer Cmdr Matthew , even though she did not know if he would have the time to read it right now . He was probably pretty busy now with everything that going on the bridge now ..
[Computer Begin Message]
Cmdr Matthew
Greetings Cmdr. Matthew. I just wanted to send word your way, we have not had a chance to talk in so log, I just wonted to say thanks for Having confidence in me making me the new Asst Chief Medical officer on board the Jefferson. The Chief MD who had held it before me was Transferred after the Last mission . The only set back to the job is I spend a lot of my time stuck behind a desk most of the time. I need interaction. But I am not known ever to complain. I must be going now, perhaps we can get together when all of this settles down around here .Below is the ship Medical department report.
Subject: Sickbay Status Report
Supply levels: 92% Crew efficiency: 98% Everything seems to be working smoothly in the department at the moment. Although people are very busy at the moment and tense with the strange facts that we are discovering about this mission
Patient Report. Long term care: 3 Physiotherapy: 5 Major injuries: 2 Minor injuries: 11 Fatalities: 0
Evaluation:
With Ensign Barker out of action , the department has been busy working on ways to help her to recover. We do not foresee any liniment improvements in her condition. She has received several visitors while she is in her Catatonic state and they have taken part in what seems to be a strange Earth culture of talking to her, reading stories and just telling her gossip about what Ensigns Tokkani and Rajesh have been getting up to in Jefferies tube 19F. Supplies are fairly stable with more than enough for the foreseeable future.
Kay out.

Sounds good. I prolly did comm someone, but we can comm between ships cant we?
On
Max sat in engineering thinking of food...and a plan of action of course.
"If we are at maximum velocity" he thought "then, the ship would be mighty hungry."
As he was thinking, the warp reactor started to distablize.
Max =/\= Max power to the bridge =/\=
Aral Gibson =/\= Bridge here =/\=
Max =/\= I suggest reducing speed...the core is going crazy! its gonna blow! i can't hold it anymore captain!"
Aral Gibson =/\= This isnt the captain. What speed do you suggest would be save?" =/\=

Aral Gibson =/\= Are you certain Max? =/\=
Max =/\= Well, yes. Any ship at impusle is save. Unless attacked. But thats a different story. Warp 7.85 is what we can handle without blowing me and my BBQ to bits =/\=
Aral Gibson =/\= Understood. Send a status report. I will review it. Bridge out =/\=
Max sat in engineering and quickly gave projected times he expected the core to blow, and what they could do to maximize the distance they could put between them and the nexus. If they slowly dropped from maximum warp, dropping .1 warp speed every minute, they could eventually get to warp 7.85 and stablise at that point for a while. He sent his final conclusion to the bridge.
Max Power.
Off i dunno where James T Matthew is :S so i just gave it to Gibson. I will change it if u want.

==/\== Begin log ==/\==
Commander Matthew watched as the Commodore left the bridge. He spun around at the light voice from the Bajoran female officer who had managed to find her way onto the bridge. She looked around a little unsure of herself. Matthew was still reeling from the Intel reports he just receive when she introduced herself. "Commander, Matthew ? Hello, sir My name is Ensign Tara Amaryis, I was ordered to bring these Reports strait to you I never been on the Bridge before" She said, smiling at him.
James smiled back Go ahead Ensign have a look around while I read over this Report Ensign I see that you where the research officer on this report it look like a good Plan but Dangerous "Tara Amaryis gave this some thought, " I do not see why that should be a problem, but the logistics of this could be complicated!"
Cmdr Matthew nodded, "I understand, that is why I am getting the engineering team to begin manufacture of temporary Mines. Which brings me to another point, we will need to find a better & faster way To Deploy Them.
Cmdr Matthew studied her as she left The Bridge and hoped that this attractive young woman could Handle her Assignment .
~~ Scene:- Captain Ready Roomβ Commodore Loskene was pleased to see that the his new aide, Ensign Mellor was Learning his way around the ship and had moved his belongings into his new Quarters . He sat behind the sweeping desk that he had sat the other side on so many occasions. When the Mellor left the room suddenly Loskene began to feel the loneliness of his new position. There was a message flashing and he opened up the file. ~~snip Greetings, Mark I just wanted to send word your way, we have not had a chance to talk in so log, even during our previous mission. I have news; I was promoted to Battalion Executive Officer. The Major who had held it before me was killed during one of these earthquakes we've been having. I have already grown to hate this . I am not someone who can be stuck behind a desk all the time. I need interaction. But, it can't be helped, and I am not known ever to complain. I must be going now, perhaps we can get together when all of this settles down around here your friend . Major General Paul Thomas.

"Understood. Send a status report. I will review it. Bridge out." As soon as the young ensign arrived with the report Aral read through it quickly, "Damn, he's right....Helm- I wan't you to reduce speed by .1 every minute!"
"But-" Xio started but Aral shook his head.
"Mr. Power's orders."
"Aye...." She breathed.
*Several minutes later*
"We have gone down to warp 7.85, commander Gibson."
"Very good. How long until we reach the Ronaok?"
"6 minutes 45 seconds."
Aral paced back and forth behind his console. He glanced over at Mike. He was rubbing his temples. The implant over his eye had, to Aral, become part of Mike, and it was strange to think it was relaying these messages.
"Aral, Zimmerman doesn't like the plan..... but I think, if we use a mass transporter beam-"
"Thats dangerous, Mike." Aral interupted, remembering stories he'd heard about terrible things that happened during mass transportings.
"I know... but listen- If we use the mass transport, it'll only take about 10 seconds, if we time it well, and then we can worry about the nexus."
"You're the scientist....." Aral sighed. It was something he seemed to say a lot. Commander Matthews came over.
"What are you two talking about?" Aral told James what they were thinking, "Hmmm.... we should be talking to the El Sal, they want to navigate through the mines."
"I think we should do that, but we have to save the Ronaok crew first."
"Agreed. Lets get Mr. Smith on screen!" Matthews ordered, Xio nodded and opened a transmission to the El Sal.
"Commander Matthews." Smith said, "New ideas?"
"Yes, and I believe this is a good plan to go with." James responded before continuing, "The Jefferson can complete a mass transport- get the Ronaok survivors onboard, while the El Sal leads the Nexus through the stings. Once contact it made by a string and the Nexus, it should put the Nexus on a new course, instead of following the El Sal!"
Smith considered for a few moments and then said a few words to Savot in the background, "Sounds like a plan. Let's do it."
OFF: We should probably start wrapping this up... does my plan sound alright?

Steve cut off the communications, and took a moment to think.
He began to pace around the bridge. He stopped at Savots console.
"Listen up people." He said, in a loud voice. "What we are about to do here is going to be risky. I wont deny that we could run into any number of problems."
He continued walking, and this time stopped at Remeti's console. He looked at her and winked, and gently place a hand on her shoulder and rubbed it.
"But, I have faith in each and everyone of you to pull us through. As long as we keep our cool, we will be fine." He added, slowly stroking Remeti's neck. Suddenly, he remembered where he was, and stopped. That was for another time.
"For now, we just need to keep in check with the Jefferson, and when the time is right, move away and do our stuff."

Remeti gave a glance at Steve. THat was...odd...but yet she also didn't mind. She felt her face turning red. She stared at the console.
"It may be risky, sir." she said. "But we'll be able to do it."
