OFF: Being as how the boards are being all wierded out ive just started a new thread for us to post to. I wasnt able to reply to it and neither were several other people so i took the liberty.
On:
:: Deis stands there with utility belt on and a tricorder in hand, just programming a few things when the first man transports in. The runabout to be taken rests near like an unmoving elephant. She looks to the glitter and sees a man shes only briefly met before. Though no sooner does she see him than she sees Harrias come into the docking bay. He completly fails to notice the smallish woman over to the side. But thats allright, she cultivates that reaction.::
::Harrias Jira says,:: "Commander. Who's in charge in there?" ::, to Commander Gibson and Deis chooses that moment to step from the runabouts side, smiling faintly with hands on hips:: Tha would be meself Commander. . ::nodding to Harrias and then smiling to the man whom shes barely before met:: Commander Gibson, welcome t th El Salvador. Good t meet ye an yer help tis most appreciated.
::She shook Aral Gibsons hand and then proceeded to explain the orders:: We are t take this runabout out there. Tis a much smaller vessel so th likelyhood o runnin into a thread be exponentially less. Our purpose is t get t th' ship, th' Roanoke, an search fer yer missin man at th same toime. ::nodding again to Gibson:: If tis possible we can try t harvest th cold deuterium tha we need s badly t get us out o here. ::Nodding then to Commander Jira:: All efforts t salvage th Roanoke an t find th missin man, but ill nae go down with tha ship.
Ready Gentlemen, Questions, Comments, Rude remarks?
Off: Tag: Aral and Harrias. Ummmm...someone else can feel free to join in too before we blast off into the glittery ouchness that is threaded space.

<<USS El Salvador, Bridge>> Agalacticae marveled at the beauty of the surrounding space. No one knew their exact location or how they would make it back. But he did not have much time to enjoy the view when he noticed another ship on his sensors. Hastily trying to figure what it was it appeared to be the Jefferson, who had followed them into the string in pursuit of the Chief Science Officer Michael Pasek. Although the sight of the Jefferson was a comforting one, Agalacticae immediately started thinking about the Ronoak and its crew, who now was left behind floating in space with no one to assist them…They would have to return as soon as possible, after all their primary objective was to recover the Ronoak.
But returning should prove harder than anticipated. Their trip through the string had depleted both ships supply of deuterium and even if they had the deuterium, no strings seemed to be visible…
With both vessels like dead fish in the water, something needed to happen and after conferring with Captain Smith Irae decided to take a shuttle out there to look both for a way home, a new deuterium source and last but not least Michael Pasek.
<<Shuttlebay>> Aral Gibson had requested to be on the shuttle right away and had already beamed over to the El Sal when Irae started to make her way down to the shuttle bay. When the doors opened she saw both Gibson and Harrias preparing a shuttle for departure. As soon as she has told them that she would be in charge of the mission, Gibson reported to her while Harrias was preparing his speech to convince her to have him on the team…
Harrias: “Lt.Com. Irae, as I am the engineer of the highest…”
Irae: “Yes”
Harrias quite surprised by his FO’s fast response and Irae starting to smile
Harrias: “But you didn’t even let me finish”
Irae: “The answer is: Yes - Yes, we need you on the shuttle!”
Positively surprised by Irae and her sound reasoning he went back to work, doing the last modifications before they would be ready to head out.
<<Bridge>> With the El Salvador unable to move, the need for a pilot sort of became obsolete, making Agalacticae address the Captain.
Agalactiae: “Captain. Requesting permission to pilot the shuttle-mission!”
Smith: “As you obviously can’t be of much use right here. Permission granted!”
<<Shuttlebay>> Running down to the shuttlebay in order to make it before they left he walked in on the shuttle-team just as they were about to board the shuttle. Preoccupied by what they were doing, he waited until they had entered the shuttle…
Aral was sitting in the pilot’s seat, making preparations for take off, when Agalacticae approached the shuttle, walking right up to the window next to the pilot’s seat. It has been a long time since he had seen his old friend Aral and as Agalacticae hated to make reunions too emotional, he simply started knocking on the window, to the great surprise of Aral and the others.
Agalacticae: “And who do you suggest will fly this shuttle? I hope you didn’t think about letting this guy do it?”
The first view from Aral was a furious one until he could decipher the pilot’s face through the window and his facial expression turned into genuine joy to the great surprise of both Irae and Harrias.
Gibson: “Bob! Anyone else would have gotten a formal complaint for this”
Agalacticae: “Aral, my dear friend, finally I get to see you in person!”
Still smiling Agalacticae was barely able to hide his tears entering the shuttle where Gibson readily gave up his seat for him. After checking the systems and answering Irae’s and Harrias’ questions about what just had happened they were ready to take off.
Agalacticae: “Everyone ready? Hope this time it is going to be ME making YOUR stomach turn” Agalacticae smiled at Irae…
After the confirmation of his request by everyone Agalacticae started the engines and had to think about Irae’s reasoning about taking a shuttle…we actually don’t know whether there are strings out there, the only thing we DO know is that we can’t see them. Shrugging at the thought but excited to fly a shuttle with great maneuverability the shot out of the shuttlebay into unknown space…OOC: If anyone else would like to join us, please do so and simply back-sim your arrival to the shuttle!

OFF: By the way, did you forget about the Delta-flyer? It can be helpful too: we need as much deuterium as we can get with us!
ON:
Dimítrij heard that Aral was going to El Sal to take part in shuttle's flight back for deuterium, and suddenly he remembered about Olav and his shuttle. It looked like the pilot hadn't had any work! Dimítrij smiled, stood up and turned to Matthew.
«Sir, I think that I'm not necessary here; at least COO of El Sal can help if something unpredicted happen. But I want to take another shuttle, «Antares' Ray». I think we need as much cargo space to bring spare deuterium, as we can find. It could be helpful.»
Matthew only closed his eyes and waved a hand. It seemed that he agreed in soul that his crew will go away with El Salvadorians.
~Some minutes later, Jefferson's shuttlebay~
Dimítrij checked his phaser and sword (he decided not to prt with it: who knows what can happen?) and stepped in «Antares' Ray» cockpit. Without any words he sat in the armchair near Olav.
«Hey, what's happening there?» Olav asked, madly looking at Dimítrij. And Dimítrij started to explain. While he was speaking, Olav's eyes was becoming more and more round. In the end he sweared strongly.
«O'k, let's find that damned deuterium and get us out of that damned place!» Olav activated engines.
«Wait a bit.» Dimítrij opened a channel to El Sal's shuttle. «Hey, friends, I decided that another free space of cargobay can be useful, so it will be a party for two shuttles!»
Dimítrij looked at Olav by the corner of eye and noticed that he didn't like that his shuttle was called «another free space of cargobay».
=/\= Wow. Acknowledged! =/\= answered a voice that seemed familiar to Dimítrij. But it was not Kevin or Smith…
«Ens. Fos to the bridge. If anyone wants to join us, go. I'm not sure you can be useful here at the unmovable vessel.»
=/\= We will think about it.=/\= The channel closed.
«By the way,» Olav noticed «I have something you'll probably will be surprised of.»
«What?» Dimítrij saw a sly smile at Olav's face.
Olav raised a hand solemnly. «I have a romulan disruptor beam installed! Just on the shuttle's nose… It's trophy one, don't sak how did i get it…»
Shuttlebay's door opened, and only blue forcefield was separating the bay from the open space…
«El Sal's shuttle?» Dimítrij opened a channel «We'll depart simultaneously with you!»
=/\= Understood. =/\=
In some minutes El Sal's shuttle (name?) left the shuttlebay of prometheus vessel.
«Here we go!» Olav switched power to the engines on full: «Antares' Ray» left the shuttlebay like an arrow and took position right behind the El Sal's shuttle.
OFF: Don't say I'm a plagiarismatic! I didn't have it in my mind. Really, we need additional cargo… And that disruptor beam can be helpful – who knows… And it could be rather crowded on El Sal's shuttle, no? ;-) Everyone who wants to participate: backpost.

Savot spun in his console immediately upon hearing of the shuttle embarkation plan, however, Smith almost instantly began shaking his head. "I'm sorry Mr. Savot, but permission is denied.", the Captain said before Savot even had to word his question. "We're already sending 3 of our senior staff including my First Officer, and I need people I can really count on here on the El Sal as well. You'll be especially necessary if we end up splitting the ship. I'm sorry."
Savot, duty-bound, nodded his head at once to the Captain. He put up no struggle, for while he was concerned for the safety of the shuttle crew, most specifically his companion Agalacticae and of course Doctor Deis Irae, he also understood the logic of the Captain's statement and so gave no argument.
**********************************
He contented himself with walking down to the shuttlebay to give a send off. He walked in and moved to the gathering of officers forming his hand into the traditional Vulcan salute, and addressing both the Navigator and First Officer. "Peace and long life Commanders." His glance paused almost indiscernably longer upon Irae's face, then he nodded to the others present as well, including Commanders Gibson and Jira, and strode silently from the bay to resume his station...

:: The Lt. Commander First Officer is rather suprised. Several wish to be a part of this unsure mission but as her Father always said. Several hands are better than two. She steps into the shuttle, ostensibly named "Silver streak", one of the faster and more maneuverable of shuttles. She checks her equipment, including holstered hypospray...only God knows what she has loaded in there or what it will do to whomever she injects it to. A loaded hypospray has turned out to be one of the most useful weapons in her career::
::She listens as Ensign Fos of the Jefferson invites himself and a smallish ship with disrupters. She smiles liking that idea, one never knows when the unknown can cause a problem. The group all talk amongst themselves as the shuttle is checked out until a vulcan walks in the shuttle bay::
:: Deis cant help but smile at him though it would only be mirrored faintly. Shes learned a lot about the Vulcan people and knows that the lack of emotional content dosent necessarily mean its non existant. Its just a little harder to find is all. And the short gaze that flows between them suffices better than any handshake or departing hug could ever do. They know each other well, having mind melded. She gives Commander Savot the appropriate gesture, though she has a problem making her fingers stay apart correctly for the "Live long and prosper" gesture::
:: Once He leaves she then looks around to the rest: Arigh then...we are on our way. ::giving Agalacticae, Gibson, and Jira a professional smile and gets into the shuttle. She dosent take a drivers seat, but lets Agalacticae and whomever he chooses share the bliss. Shes a much better reactionary than pilot anyway::
::she looks then to Agalicticae and speaks:: Crank 'er up Commander...let us get goin.
Off: Tag: Agalicticae, Jira, Gibson, Fos, uhhhh...and whoever else is involved WOOHOO!!

On the El Sal bridge, Steve was sitting in his chair comtemplating the situation. Of his senior crew, his FO Dr Irae, CEO Harris Jira, and CNO Robert Agalacticae had taken a shuttle to try and retrieve some deuterium. He took a slow glance around him. At present his senior crew now consisted of the COO Savot, and CTSO Remeti Lucas.
He stood up and walked over to Savot. "Commander. I would like you to keep in touch with the shuttle for as long as you can."
"Aye sir." Savot replied.
Steve knew that Savot really wanted to be on the shuttle mission, but he couldnt do with having all of his staff away in a time like this. He did have every faith in the crew that were going though.
At first Steve was going to go to his ready room and collect his thoughts, but instead he decided against it. It was better to show that he was in charge, and not shut himself away.
He patted Savot on the shoulder. "Besides Savot, for the moment, you are once again acting FO!" He said with a smile, even though it couldnt be seen.
He moved off and walked to Rem's station.
He glanced sideways, and looked forward again. He raised his left hand and put it on her shoulder. With his right hand, he began to softly stroke the side of the neck, and her shoulders. Rem stiffened up slightly at first, but then without saying anything, she relaxed. Steve continued stroking and bent over a little.
In an effort to hide what he was doing there, he had to think of something quickly.
"Lieutenant," He said, being formal, "I want you to alert me the instant you notice any activity from the alien vessels."
He bent over a little.
"And I mean any activity at all. I wont mind to be disturbed by you." He said, in a half whisper close to her ear.
"Yes sir." She gently whispered. The sound of her voice in that whisper sounded amazing to him.
Smiling, he gently stopped the stroking, stood back up and walked back to his chair, and sat back down.

Off: Hey, Captain Smith (or any other Commanding officer), unless you object real soon, I'll invite myself/backpost to get in on the Shuttlecraft mission.
ON:
Kevin had heard of the expidition to collect deuterium, and was eager to do something off the bridge. Yes, he was not exactly sleeping on the job, but there was no work that could be done effectivly without more data, rescources, and time.
Kevin: "Sir, permission to join the shuttle team? I could run more tests outside the ship, full EM bands, stuff like that."

<<USS El Salvador, Bridge>> (Backsim) Just after Agalacticae had gotten permission to pilot the shuttle and was about to run down to the shuttlebay, he noticed Ensign Zimmerman eagerly looking into Captain Smith's direction.
Remembering how uneasy he was himself, when he was an ensign to address the CO Agalacticae anticipated Zimmerman's wish to join the shuttle crew. Stopping up before entering the turbo lift he approached Smith once more.
Agalacticae: "Captain, you mind if I take our new ensing along?"
It was the first time Agalacticae saw a subtle, almost unrecognizable smile on the Captain's face. Smith knew exactly what Agalacticae was doing and in a sincere voice responded.
Smith: "But I make you personally responsible for his safe return Mr. Agalacticae...can't afford something happening to our newest crewmember."
While no one was looking into Agalacticae's and Smith's direction, blinking one of his eyes, Smith added in a very sincere voice.
Smith: "Understood, Mr. Agalacticae?"
On purpose Agalacticae waited for a few, totally unnecessary seconds, to reply, enjoying Zimmerman's anxiety for the response...
Agalacticae: "Understood, Captain!"
Smith: "Well, what are you two waiting for?"
Zimmerman excited by being a part of the shuttle mission joined Agalacticae in the turbolift and they both headed down to the shuttle bay where they entered the shuttle, ready to disembark...OFF: Welcome to the shuttle team, Mr. Zimmerman! I hope you don't mind me taking the liberty to allow Zimmerman to join the shuttle-crew. Will post us leaving the El Salvador soon...

Backpost to when Commander Agalacticae arrives in the shuttlebay:
Kevin hurried along with the Commander to the Shuttlebay. He had been a bit anxious, wondering if perhaps he had been a bit obnoxious when asking permission to join the shuttle team, but noticed the abscence of the edge in the Captain's voice in his repl, "Get going!" Kevin assumed that either the Captain was going easy on him, or had a joke with Commander Agalacticae. It was most likely, and hopefully, the latter. As CScO Zimmerman entered the shuttle, he hooked up a tricorder (with the information he had gathered and observed before) to the shuttle's computer. Kevin began running preliminary scans, check-ups, testing the sensors, etc.

"Crank 'er up Commander." Irae said, her hand on Bob's shoulder. Aral looked around at the shuttle. It was pretty packed know. 1 Jefferson officer and 4 El Sal officers. But it wasn't so bad that it was uncomfortable. But no body was talking at all. As they streaked into the darkness, things started to get pretty quiet. After about 15 minutes of the silence Aral couldn't take it. "Anyone mind if we listen to some music?" he asked eagerly to the group. "Sure...." Zimmerman said slowly. A few others shrugged. "How about Mozar-" Bob started but Aral was already zooming ahead. "Computer play sound recording 'SmashStar_02'." Robert looked around at his old friend, "What on earth? It's not some of that rock stuff you played at the acad is it?" "Oh no, this is some stuff from the 21st century on earth. I found it when I was going through an old database." Before anyone could get another word in Aral said, "Computer, play recording." A steady beat started, before a energetic voice began. Somebody once told the world is going to roll me I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed Well, she was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb In the shape of an L on her forehead.....Irae looked scepticaly at him, "Ain't?" "Hey, they had some pretty funky language back then commander!" Hey now, you're an allstar, get your game on, go play Hey now, you're an rock star, get the show on, get paid And all that glitters is gold Only shooting stars break the moldAral was bobbing his head up and down in the co-pilots seat, while Bob was shaking his head incredulously as they all ventured further out. OFF: Couldn't help it!

<<Silver Streak>> Agalacticae loved to fly shuttles - the high maneuverability giving him a range of motion and freedom to perform the most incredibly spins and turns, if necessary. After he had gotten permission to launch from Savot, they had left the El Salvador behind, soon after noticing another shuttle approaching from the Jefferson.
=/\= Antare’s Ray to Silver Streak – this is Ensign Dimitrij Fos, thought you could need a little more space for all the Deuterium we are going to find…=/\=
Smiling at the Ensign’s enthusiasm, especially considering the odds for actually finding Deuterium in an area of space they had no knowledge of, Agalacticae told him to follow him.
=/\= Good to have you with us Mr. Fos! =/\=
The two shuttles glided through the ever changing colors of the nebula before them, unable to detect anything of interest so far. To make the waiting time worthwhile Gibson decided to put a 21st century song on, that soon after hammered through the speakers of the shuttle.
After a few more minutes they received an incoming transmission from Savot, who closely monitored his friend’s path from the El Salvador.
=/\= Savot to Silver Streat =/\=
=/\= Hey now, you're an allstar, get your game on, go play=/\=
Savot was puzzled for a few seconds until Gibson finally understood Irae’s gesture of waving her hand from side to side before her neck to mute of the music…
Gibson: *whispering* “Sorry…”
=/\= Irae here – what do you have for us Mr. Savot? =/\=
=/\= Besides the fact that there is some disturbing noice in our communications system, we detected energy fluctuations bearing 010, mark 035. I suggest you take a look =/\=
=/\= Acknowledged – you heard what he said Mr. Agalacticae =/\=
Right after the communication link was terminated, Gibson put the music back on and not longer able to resist the temptation to give the shuttle a little spin…
Agalacticae: “Aye, sir, bearing 010, mark 035”
=/\= Antare’s Ray – do you copy? =/\=
=/\= Aye =/\=
To the great surprise of the other shuttle the Silver Streak sudden broke off formation, accelerating for a few seconds only to initiate a steep climb preceded by a little loop. Luckily Irae hadn’t said how they were to reach their new coordinates…
As soon as Agalacticae terminated his little maneuver and the shuttle came to a stop at the new coordinates everyone’s eyes opened wide, marveling at the sight. In front of them the different colors of the nebula’s streaks seemed to unite into a firework-like conglomerate of color and flashes.

Kevin was racing through scans, and finding nothing whatsoever that could be of any help. There was no radiation emmiting from the odd spectrum of light. Infra-red and ultra-violet light were picking up hardly anything, and there were no odd EM bands. But something was causing the odd display of lights. Perhaps, thought Kevin, the source is coming from wherever the alien ship has taken the other CScO.
Kevin: "Sir, I believe the source of this odd display is coming from either another dimension, or from the aliens' current position. Would you please request permission for the El Salvador to launch a probe into the oddity?"
Irae: =^= Silver Streak to El Salvador. Mr. Zimmerman would like you to launch a probe into the...thing we're looking at.=^=
=^= Permission granted. Launching probe=^=
The class-one probe streaked past the two shuttles into the flashing colors.

OFF: O'k, I'm here. LOA will be from Tuesday till Monday, and then from 9th of July till 1st of August. Woohoo, fiesta! Dimítrij and Olav followed the maneuver of the Silver Streak, surprised a bit.
«Who's their pilot?» Olav raised both eyebrows.
«D'ya think I know?» Dimítrij replied and swithced on comm channel. «Hey, Silver Strike, who's at the helm?»
=/\=Commander Robert Agalacticae, at your service!=/\=
«Hmm, mister Agalacticae…» Dimítrij didn't finish and took the shuttle's contol. He looked at Olav, silently asking permission. Olav just nodded. Dimítrij with horrible face slowly switched off the safety-locks. What happened next, only Robert saw and understood. In some seconds Antares' Ray escaped from his position, made a stunning loop around S.Strike and took a position right nearby the El Sal's shuttle.
«Hah, I've olways been told at the Nav Academy that I'm more qualified nut than a pilot. So, I'm an Operations…» Dimítrij told (he had not turned comm off), looking at Olav, who, as judged by his face, was trying to return his stomach back to its place.
=/\= Hm, very well, Ensign, but I can do this better. Look…=/\= Agalacticae started to speak cheerfully, but he was interrupted by a woman's voice.
=/\= Enough! Ya'll challenge when we return, o'kay? Now 'tis our first task t' find th' dam'd fuel… And return back your, Jefferson's CScO. O'kay? =/\=
An Irish accent? Dimítrij wondered how many new surprises he would meet further…
«Hehm… Sorry… Aren't you a relative of TJ Edwards?» he asked. Now the woman was surprised.
=/\=No…=/\=
=/\=We're getting a signal from the probe.=/\= Zimmerman's voice heralded. =/\=Wait a bit… Transmission has been broken. The probe has been destroyed.=/\= he reported with tumbled voice.
«Damn!» Dimítrij moved himself closer to the viewscreen, trying to see at leas anything in that flashes and the light.
=/\=But the data it sent is… Intriguing.=/\=
=/\=Go on=/\= the woman ordered.
=/\=The probe detected a large structure in this nebula. It's probably alien, but it is different from that ship. Probably, a station…=/\=
«A station! And why has the brobe been destroyed?» Dimítrij leaned back in exitement.
=/\=An impact of some sort… Not a phaser or disruptor, but something like that=/\= Kevin replied. =/\=Wait, Dimítrij, I know what d'ya wanna ask. The nebula is consists of interstellar gas… And something else, there's too much interference. But it is safe to enter it.=/\=
«What a smart man!» Dimítrij replied «My friends, I have a plan. We have a disruptor beam. How many kilometers to that structure?»
=/\=About 50 kilometers=/\=
«Good. I think they know about our approach, and they're waiting for us. Like for the probe. We can't pick it up on our sensors, but we can fire there… At a venture, not entering the nebula. We'll probably hit the station. I think they will not like it and send a ship to deal with us. We'll run away to our ships, where they can disable the alien. Then we will have some talk with these thieves. But there's back side of a medal: they can be not so stupid, and they could fly away before we disable them. What do you think?»
=/\=Risky a bit… But we can try. Anyway if we not find a way back…=/\= the woman stopped. It was clear what she wanted to say.
Dimítrij returned the control to Olav. «So, my friend, power up your megacannon, we'll try to pull these guys out.»
«I'm glad to do it!» Olav tapped his console. «He-he-he, take this!»
A green ray stretched from the «Antares' Ray» nose into the nebula, slithering up and down, to the right and to the left… Soon the ray faded.
«Recharging!..» Olav reported, preparing to fire again. But it was no need.
=/\=Something is going on there!=/\= Zimmerman shouted…
OFF: The next turn is yours, ma' friends! So, what is going on there? By the way, for those who didn't know: Romulan disruptor cannon and disruptor beam are different things! The disruptor beam is like a phaser of Federation starships, but it's green and it's not a phaser, it's a disruptor.

Zimmmerman: "Sir, there's plenty of Deuterium over in that alien starbase. A ship is emerging from the vortex (I got tired of refering to it as the fireworks display)."
Irae::troubled:: "Ensign, does that ship have similar capabilities to the one we periviously encountered?"
Kevin: "As far as I can see, yes."
Irae: "Then it is time for us to get out of here. It could scan any of us at any moment"
Agalacticae: "All right, Commander, we're-"
Kevin: "Um, Commander, they are scanning us."
Irae: "Crap. From that far away?"
Kevin: "I believe they will be in close enough proximity to beam us away in 45 seconds. We are already moving at full impulse. They are gaining speed. Apparently, that ship has no warp drive, and is different than the one we last saw."
Irae: "Mr. Zimmerman, is it possible for us to beam over to the El Salvador?"
Kevin: "Not without increased risk."
Agalacticae: "I have a better idea. 'Cause personally, I don't want my innards all over a transporter pad. =^= Silver Streak to El Salvador. Please focus you phasers and quantum torpedoes on the pusuing ship.=^=
Irae::mumbling:: "Great. ::loudly:: Commander, please do not pull any stunts this time."
Agalacticae::grinning:: Of course, Commander"
The Streak darted to the right (perspectivly), and the El Salvador fired on the alien ship. The Antares' Ray way docking in the Jefferson, and the Silver Streak was closing on Shuttle Bay 2 of the El Salvador. The alien ship seemed to be disabled.
*On the Bridge of the El Salvador*
Captain Smith: "Target weapons and engines. Fire"
Lucas: "Direct hit sir. They have been completely disabled."
Smith: "Lock on with our tractor beam. Tow her over here. She must have deuterium on board in order to move. Oh, and by the way, hail them."

Harrias had tried his damnedest to remain calm, and skin coloured during Bob's showing off. Normally he would have been the first to endorse it, even up the tempo a bit, but recently he had not been so comfortable flying, the symbiont taking time to adapt to his physiology, and the high G-forces which he was suffering from weren't making the adaption any easier. Then and again, he was a quick study, and as soon as they levelled off, he was feeling much perkier.
Now, the beams having been cut back from the ship, Harrias was looking at the sensor readings coming back to the shuttle. Harrias frowned when he picked up the readings of what turned out to be a station, and had been about to say something when the Antares Ray had informed them of it.
Now, with this new ship under a tractor beam, the Streak was moving towards it, scanning it for the deuterium that must be onboard. After locating it, he relayed this information to the El Salvador to give some strength to Captain Smiths words.

OFF OKay..i am lost...but i think i know what i is doing....(not really)
ON: Remeti hailed the alien ship.
"NO response...sir." Remeti kept having a hard time keeping personal from business. NOt that anyone had yet said anything.
She tried again. Apparently they weren't the talkative type. Rem shook her head as Steve gave her a questioning look. "There's not a peep out of them."

"Keep trying." He replied.
Remeti nodded and the beeps of the console indicated that there still wasnt any response.
"Ok.....They are dead in the water, and we have them in our tractor beam, yet they wont respond....why?" He half asked, half thought out loud.

Irae: "They still have not been able to speak with the alien ship..."
Kevin: "Sir, why don't we just beam over their deuterium right now?"
Irae: "Because it is not ethical. However, seeing as how they have abducted a Starfllet Officer...I'll run it by Captain Smith."
She proceeded to do so. (I did not find it nessecary to repeat myself.)

«Woh, thank you for the ride!» Dimítrij ran out of the cockpit. Olav only smiled: «No thanks!»
~Jefferson's bridge, some minutes later~
«Ens Fos reporting, sir. I'm back.» Dimítrij reported and took his place on the bridge. Wow, it was great: they had managed to get a big fish! A huge ship, even bigger than the Jefferson, was motionlessly hanging between two Starfleet's vessels.
«Flight is over, bird.» Dimítrij heard Aral's voice. Aral had just entered the bridge.
The face of capt. Smith appeared on the viewscreen. =/\=Hello there. We're trying to contact this ship, but they do not respond. Either there's nobody aboard, or they do not understand our language at all.=/\=
«That's not a problem» Dimítrij thought. «Maybe they just cannot receive?..»
«O'k, we'll try to contact them too.» Matthew replied. «If they're not responding, we will have to have some more close talk…»
=/\=Acknowledged. Smith out=/\= the image of the alien ship re-appeared on the viewscreen. Matthew ordered Xio to keep hailing the alien.
«Sir» Dimítrij turned to the FO «Maybe they just can't receive our hail?»
«What do you mean?» Matthew squinted a bit.
«I mean» Dimítrij started to explain «That maybe they have another communication system, not like ours. I'd recommend to send our message in different parts of the spectrum: from X-rays to simple radiowaves. I recommend to send hails on every frequency we can. If this ship is not a drone or they're not of a whale size – and I think it's doubtful – they will respond.» Saying this Dimítrij was running the program to determine the ship's position in universe – if they still were in their universe.
«That's a good idea. Xio, you've heard. If needed, even blink them with our positional lights.
Xio started doing that. In the meantime Dimítrij was researching the data from the sensors. The image of star sphere around them was not acceptable for any sector or quadrant. Dimítrij had already dispaired, and then ran check by nebulae and galaxies. In one minute the result appeared on his console. When he saw it, he almost fell from his armchair and a soung like «Khow» escaped from his throat.
«Sir!» Xio said «They're answering! In radiowaves, 350.22 MHz. But I cannot undersand anything. Their language… And it's too strange that a warp-capable race uses radiowaves to communicate!»
«Cooperate with the El Sal's CScO» Matthew ordered «If so, i want to talk with them about our officer!»
Kevin's face appeared on the viewscreen. =/\=Receiving… hank you, we'll work on it. Wait a bit. Zimmerman out=/\=
«Oh, at last. Hm, do these alien think that they can easily steal a Starfleet officer, even if the're in their dimension?» Matthew said with pathos.
«Sir…» Dimítrij just recovered from what he learned «We're not in another dimension.»
«What?!» a simultaneous sigh ran over the bridge. Everybody was looking at Dimítrij.
«Sir, I've just discovered… I ran a program to determine our position; the starsphere analysis didn't give me any result, and I ran a test based on galaxies' and nebulae position…» Dimítrij started to speak very quickly, but Matthew stopped him.
«So, what do you have?»
«We're…» Dimítrij breathed in «in a galaxy M 104.»
Silence. «Where is it?» asked Xio in a whisper.
«About 40 millions lightyears from the Milky Way galaxy.» Dimítrij quietly answered…
OFF: Rough, ye? Hey, Kevin or anybody else: what are these aliens telling us?

After only a few seconds of transmiting some strange lightening like field started surrounding the alien ship.
"Sir there's something strange going on.", said Fos, and he was right.
After only a few moments, the field surrounding it shone very brightly, blinding everybody in the shuttle. The next moment they looked, the ship was gone.
"That's impossible!", said Zimmerman, but that wasn't the last of the surprises. Just as one ship disappeared, another two appeared, approximately 10 times the size the previous one.
"What the hell is that.", said Cptn.s Smith and Loskene on their ships probably at the exact same time on both ships.
Just as they were about to sound the alarm, something strange started happening on the Jefferson bridge. The light that took Mike away was there again.
"Security, be prepared!", said Loskene to the officers at tactical but the next mom ent Mike reappeared on the bridge of the Jefferson.
"Pasek!", said Loskene running towards him, "Are you all right?"
Mike opened his eyes, and said: "Yes."
But then Loskene saw something frightening. Mike's eyes were pitch black, like two bottomless wholes. Loskene took a step back as Mike got to his feet.
"Hail your ships and tell them to get closer to the big ones.", Mike said to Loskene who had that 'No way' look in his eyes.
"Do you want to go back home?", said Mike looking at Loskene. He looked him directly into his eyes and there Loskene sensed and saw that Mike he knew, and who pulled him out many times. Believing this 'possessed' Mike Loskene, said: "Yes. Ensign, hail the shuttles and tell them to go and stop between the Jefferson and the El Sal."
As the shuttles took their position the two large alien ships took position just behind the four. Powering up some unknown system they wrapped the ships in some kind of a net.
"What a...?", said Loskene turning to the 'possessed' Mike, "What do you think you...." "Trust me.", said Mike not moving an inch. Loskene looked at him again and decided to calm down again. The next few moments were truly mysterious I they will probably never be explained. In front of the ships a strange rift opened, all shining and blinding.
The helmsman said: " Sir, we are picking up speed."
The ships started picking up speed, and the next moment they were in their, normal universe, with the Ronoak in front of them and with the two other ships nowhere in sight. The Jefferson and the El Sal Along with the shuttles were probably pushed or slingshot back into their dimension. Mike, who was still on the bridge said: "You're home. Don't go back until Mike wakes up." Everyone was puzzled by this statement but the next moment, finishing his sentence, Mike lost his black, possessed eyes and fell to the flour unconscious.
"Get a doctor here.", said Loskene. The med team was there in a moment scanning Mike with their tricorders.
"Sir, his implant is activated.", said one of his medics, "We'll have to deactivate it."
But just as those words were said, Mike opened his eyes and grabbed the doctors hand and said: "No. What ever you do... No. Implant must... on-line.", he said in a weak voice and passed out again.

OFF: Mike, I'm glad to see you back! Some corrections, may I? Both shuttles has been docked. And we were in normal universe, but millions lightyears away from home. :-)

Post by Savot on Jun 30, 2004 3:00:19 GMT
As the viewscreen of the El Salvador filled with a brilliant flash, it just as quickly subsided into the image of normal space. Captain Smith leapt from his center seat and was beside Savot's Ops station in record time.
"What the devil just happened Savot?", urged Smith.
Savot, unphased by the flash, was already in the middle of calculating their current location, and scanning for any other potential results of the flash. After a handful of breaths he replied, "Captain, our position reads steady at our original coordinates in normal space where the Ronoak was last reported."
Steven let out a deep breath and relaxed his shoulders a bit, "Well that's a relief anyway." He glanced up at Remeti Lucas, who looked equally relieved and gave the old First Officer smile that used to engender positive feelings from the crew so often. It seemed the smile continued to serve him well as Captain. His relief was cut short, however, as Savot updated his report.
"Captain, sensor readings on the strings indicate severe fluxuation. Probability uncertain at this time, possible results include harmlessly sealing themselves off, and unfortunately the other possibility is an energy buildup which could easily augment the strings draining abilities and instantly disable both ourselves and the Jefferson.", the everyday calmness of the Vulcan's voice was disturbing when delivering such potentially damning news.
Smith looked gravely at the viewscreen, puzzling possible decisions through his mind. After a handful of heartbeats he began issuing commands. "All right, Mr. Savot, signal the shuttle to return immediately and open shuttlebay 3 for them. Helm, bring the ship around to give them a straight shot into the bay. Savot, signal the Jefferson as well to make sure they're aware of the situation. Increase scans on the strings to see if you can come up with some way to shut them down safely. Remeti, raise the shields. It may be a futile gesture but I'll be damned if I just sit here and watch them drain my ship!"
Savot set about his duties methodically, signalling first Irae's shuttle and then the Jefferson. Captain Smith walked slowly back to his chair and sat down, fingers gripping the arms, not in fear, but in determination.

Home! They were back, in their galaxy. At least, the indicators was showing that.
«We're back home, sir» reported Dimítrij. Matthew sighed in relief.
The strings was seeming to disappear. Suddenly another rift appeared, and the alien vessel, one of those huge ones, appeared in fron of ships and docking shuttle (Dimítrij thought she had docked, but no, she docked only now).
«Sir! They're hailing us!.. No, they transmitting text data, still in radiowaves.» Xio turned back to the FO.
«Text on screen.»
Words appeared on the screen.
We're closing the hypegate. Now this area is secure. Your people on the Ronoak are safe.
«But… Stop! Who are you?» Matthew raised from his seat.
It's not necessary to know
«Huh! So, what for have you stolen our officer and Ronoak?»
We learned about you. That's all we need now.
«So… If everything is so good… Maybe, we can establish diplomatic relations between our cultures? Who are you, by the way? And where have we been?» Matthew still was a bit lost, and forgot the protocol words.
We won't. We are ћќЊήĐ&ψyqץױضẸ–. You have been, according to your computers, in the galaxy Sombrero, number 104 in Messier catalogue. About 40 millions lightyears away from here. In the universe 12332#87, YOUR universe. It looked that the alien was answering right in the order of questions. When the alien said their name, the screen covered with the symbols, which didn't make any sense.
«But why?» Matthew was surprised that the aliens refused.
Too early
«What? Early?» Matthew looked very disappointed. «O'k, will you tell us, how does your… Hypergate work?»
No
«Maybe, you'll agree to carry on negotiations with us? I think we have many things to share…»
No and right in that moment the ship disappeared.
«Scan area! Where have they gone?» Matthew ordered and asked.
Dimítrij scanned the area, but there was no trail of aliens. He only negativly shook his head. Matthew sighed hard and sat down. «What do we have with deuteruim?»
«Full load, sir» Dimítrij answered. He was surprised. These aliens made a gift for them… Dimítrij looked at sensors. The strings and rift completely disappeared. No aliens. Just Jefferson, Ronoak and El Salvador.
=/\=Zimmerman here.=/\= Kevin hailed the Jefferson. =/\=I think it would be interesting. I've made the last scan during our chat…=/\=
«What? They were speaking to you as well? And what about?» Dimítrij asked. Now Kevin looked lost.
=/\=And they were speaking to you? Intersting. I'm sure we asked them different questions. Fascinating!=/\=
«Why?»
=/\=Because in this time they were not hiding. I scanned them, or it would be etter to say, it. It's an alien. I mean, the whole ship is not a ship. It's an organism. I don't believe myself, but it's true. They're so huge…=/\=
Everybody stared at Kevin. «Woho, cool.» Dimítrij said with respect in a voice «Maybe, they were living on a huge planet, like Jupiter or bigger, but with solid ground? Or not with solid…»
=/\=Yeah, maybe. Zimmerman out.=/\=
Matthew looked over the bridge with tired glance, waved a hand and said:
«Lock aft tractors on the Ronoak. We're heading back.»
OFF: Maybe, you want to add something?
