Savot and Robert Agalacticae, having just opened the doors to the conference room before Captain Smith and Remeti Lucas entered, followed the pair into the room and took their usual seats. The emergency lights, running purely off of auxialary battery banks, provided barely sufficient light for conducting the briefing but it would have to suffice for the now.
First Officer Deis Irae took one more frowning glance around the mess of the bridge, then she and Commander Jira made their way to the meeting as well. As all the officers took their seats, Captain Smith winced slightly over his leg, then cleared his countenance and addressed his officers.
"All right people, let's run through it by the numbers. Engineering first, obviously, Commander Jira?", Smith glanced at each officer in turn, stopping at his chief of Engineering.
<Harrias>
Steven breathed in deeply, nodding slowly. "Very well, make your way back down there as soon as the briefing's over. Zimmerman made his way down there several minutes ago; send a runner back here when you arrive to tell us his take on the situation, and give us an update on the repair estimates." Harrias nodded and tapped a few notes into his PADD.
He looked to his First Officer next, "Suggestions, Commander?"
Deis looked straight at him without hesitation, "Let me get down t' sickbay sair. With all int'r-ship comms down people'll be headin' there instinctively if there's any wounded to report on. I may be yer right hand officer at the moment, but Ah'm also the only CMO this ship's got right now."
Steven smiled slightly and nodded. "Of course, that's good thinking.", he turned to Savot, "Mr. Savot, as much as I love your company, without ship's systems up and running there's not too much for you to do. Ms. Lucas and I will do what we can bypassing bridge circuits to get some things working, you go with the Doctor and give her a hand. There's no telling how the crew handled that impact." He then paused and looked at each of his officers present again. "All right, everyone, let's get this girl back in shape."
Savot nodded instantly to his orders and stood to rise with everyone else, following the Doctor and Harrias Jira into the Jeffries tubes until they'd have to split off on their way to sickbay.
Smith remained seated in the conference room as all the others except Remeti made their way out to their duties. He then smiled at her and they too set their minds to preparing the bridge...

As the doors to the conference door shut, Steve sat staring in to Rem's eyes. He leaned across the table and placed a hand onto hers, and squeezed it. He gently rubbed the back of her hand, still looking at her. and smiled.
Very slowly, he leaned in towards her. Not breaking off his gaze, and leaned in closer and closer, until their lips met, and they kissed. Rem moved in closer to Steve and sat down on his uninjured knee, so he wouldnt have to lean. Steve put his arms round Rem and they carried on kissing for a few minutes. A short while later, Steve gently broke off.
"I have been wanting to do that for a long time" He said, and winked.
<Response>
"Now, back to business. Lets see if we can get our Bridge back and running!"

"I bet" she said with a smile. She gave him another kiss. "BUt, Captain, now I don't think is the time"
She pulled him up out of his seat. she watched him wince.
"Promise me, love, you'll get that checked out." she said slipping from her offical capacity of his subordiate officer to one of being his girlfriend. HE nodded.
Remeti helped back out to the bridge. "So, now what, sir?"

"Promise me, love, you'll get that checked out." Steve was in no state to disagree, especially not with someone as lovely as Rem. "Ok baby, I'll go. Once we get everything sorted out." Remeti helped back out to the bridge. "So, now what, sir?" Steve's leg was feeling a little bit better. In truth, he could have just about managed to walk onto the Bridge himself. But with Rem helping him, it was better in two ways. Firstly, he would have support for if he stumbles or anything, and secondly, he was happy holding on to Rem! He turned to her. "First things first. We need to get this place cleaned up a bit. Someone who has trouble walking could easily fall over and hurt themselves on the mess here." He said, half jokingly. He moved off towards his chair. "Two things need to be done. We need to work on getting power back to the bridge, so we can get started. Then we need to work on getting Life Support running, because it isnt going to last forever!"

Remeti glanced around the bridge. Yeah it sure as heck was a mess.
BUt still Remeti didn't know exactly where to start.
"I always knew there was something i forgot to do at the academy" she muttered.
Steve stopped and looked at her. "What?'
she just shook her head. "Isn't the power deal in Engineering?"

"The main bulk of it, yes." Steve replied. "But we can get started up here. What else is there to do?" He asked rhetorically.
He looked around. "I can't stand to have everyone else working and me not. My leg may be injured, but compared to whats gonna happen if we dont get LS up and running, thats nothing" Steve added.

"It's not looking good Captain. We're starting to figure this out, and slowly things are coming back, but when they do so they are flawed, they have lost all settings, basically it'll take a while to get it all going again. On the other hand, if you want a new voice for the ship's computer, now would be the best time to ask..."
As the meeting finished, Harrias climbed back down to engineering, remembering to try and get the inter-ship transportation devices fixed first. He sighed as he had to yank the heavy door up from the floor to get into main engineering.
"I'm sure I asked someone to prop that damn thing up! Now, how are we getting along?"
Kivan replied eagerly. "Well, I managed to get a few of the smaller things sorted out, we're still lacking the power to get the main computer working, as the feed electrics are all down still at the moment."

Remeti fought a grin. She could think of a bunch of things, but none would help thier present situation. Well, not...She broke of that train of thought. Sometimes she really believed she needed help.
She walked over to a panel and pryed it lose HSe stared at ever thing. This was most definately not her area forte. NOw to get through this with out causing even more problems.

Aral clambered back into the jeffries tube for the 3rd time, "Damn engineers, they could of built these things a bit bigger."
Once he reached engineering again, he was careful to exit feet first- a very difficult feat.
"How nice of you to join me, Mr. Gibson. But I keep telling you- the doughnuts were burnt up." Max Power said standing at the main console.
Aral made a incoherent sound in response.
"So what brings you down here? Weren't you heading to sickbay?" Max asked.
"Yes, and the commodore's fine. But we have been given orders to stay where we are, for some reason. Some ambassador..." Aral grumbled.
He stepped up beside the engineer, "Hows the status report going? What are my weapons and sheilds doing?"

Kevin finally got to the computer core. Once there, he realized they would have to take all the chips out, imput new chips, and then jumpstart the computer. The fastest this could be done in was about 38 hours. But if another ships computer happend to be close at hand, then the jumpstarting could be done much quicker. In fact, the El Salvador could have life support in just 4 hours... but to Kevin's knowledge, the only other ship in the vicinity was the Jefferson. And since communications were out, the fast jumpstart seemed immposible. Two crewmembers came up to Kevin.
Crewmember A: "Sir, we've been sent from the bridge. An ambassador has come with his ship to-"
Kevin: "His ship? You're sure?"
Crewmember B: "Yes, sir. He requested that we remain in our current position. An Admiral gave the orders."
Kevin: "Well, I don't particuarly care what orders he gave. Ask the Admiral if we can borrow his computer core."
Crewmember A: "Sir, we cannot reach him."
Kevin: "I...::smiles:: never mind. I'll take care of it."
Crewmember B: "Sir?"
Kevin: "Return to the bridge and tell Captain Smith that I can have life support restored in time."
Crewmember B: "Yes sir."
Kevin had realized that the ambassador must be Tepes. Of course, Tepes was no ambassador. But since he had a ship, if he alllowed Starfleet to use it and in doing so save a ship, then Tepes and his...followers... would be able to move around more easily with the Federation's trust. Kevin gave orders for the crewmembers at the computer core to remove the old chips and replace them with new ones, then headed off to find his master.
OFF: I know this has some Vampire stuff in it, but I can't find a solution without Tepes' ship.

Off: Vampire? I aint going to get eaten by a vampire! if i do, im leaving....for the cooks position. On Max "Um...slowly getting there. Shields can be power to...4% and we have enough for two torpedoe launches and phasers at 7%. Why hold our position?" Gibson "Unsure. hmmm not much to work with." Max "Give em some more time. We have shut down some unimportant areas of the ships, as seen in the report. There is nothing more we can do. We are working as hard as we can...espically since missing my 10 minute snack" Gibson "10...how do you stay thin?" Max "I...um....maybe that can be our next mission." Max said sticking his tounge out at the commander in a friendly manner. Gibson "What are you? 5 years old?" Max "Shhh...don't tell the crew that...they think im 25." Gibson "WHAT?! Your only 5? That means..." Max "...that im not human? Yes. Im a parasite! Im going to eat you all alive!" Gibson "I can believe the last part...but...a parasite? ! Fix the power." Max "Understood...also, im really human." Gibson "I...firgured. I dont get a Commander rank from being stupid." Max "Not going to argue that. "

The ship was getting better. Getting much, much better in fact. Harrias was confident that the ship would be working and alive again within a few hours. He had heard something through the grapevine about an ambassador on board, but as the chief engineer, he wasn't particularly caring about that. Back when he had been the captain of this vessel, he would have had to do all the pleasantries, but even then he hated it. Now however, he could happily ignore it, and get on with his work, as he thought everyone onboard a ship of this size should. They were after all the military arm of the Federation, why should they have to put up with diplomats and civilians?
He turned to Kivan next to him. "I'm not going to be able to fix the main lift from here. If any needs me, I'll be halfway down the main lift shaft." He said with a smile at his assistant, and then took his leave before anything more could be said.
A few minutes later, he approached the lip of the shaft, having manually opened the doors, and was busy attaching a few ropes to the sides of the door. He knew that in this day and age there were plenty of ways he could keep in place, but he always felt safest when he was on the end of a nice substantial rope.
He eased himself over the edge, feeling the slight pang of fear that he could never shake, in spite of having been abseiling for years now. He slowly bounced down the shaft, until he got to the control panel that for some stupid reason was positioned halfway between decks 6 and 7. Locking the rope into position, and tying another rope onto a lift guide rail, to secure his position. He swung the panel door open, and looked inside at the familiar sight of the ship's more complex working. Rather than buttons he had to deals with wire, conduits and switches in here, and if he got it wrong, he would dangling for a long while longer.

Steve stood behind Rem as she fiddled about in the panel.
"Be careful, one false move, and who knows what could happen." Steve said gently.
Rem turned back at looked at him with a sad look. Steve put a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey, its ok. I know that you have no idea what to do with all this. To tell you the truth, neither do I. It actually wasnt all that long ago that I was in the same position as you, CTSO of the El Sal. I know how tough it can be, but we have to stick with it and see what we can do."
He gave her shoulder a gentle rub, and moved off to his chair.

OFF: Don't worry, Max, no one will get bitten unless they want to.
ON: Kevin could not locate Tepes. He must have gone on with the next stage of his planning. Kevin decided to locate him with a tricorder. Typically, tricorders could not scan an area the size of a ship like the El Salvador, but Kevin could reconfigure the tricorder with various plasma conduits to give it more power, and boost the amp. It might not be powerfull enough for the whole ship, but it would get through a lot of decks at a time. Besides, Tepes' biochemestry must have been different from that of normal humanoids, so that made him easier to find. Kevin set off looking for his master.
OFF: Who's incharge of shuttlecraft? Everyone seems to have overlooked an easy solution to the problem at hand - clear out the shuttle bay, get a team in a shuttle, blast a hole through the docking bay doors, and fly out in search of the Jefferson, as we on the El Salv don't know what shape the El Salv is in. And once we are out there and realize the Jefferson is in little better shape then us, we can put my plan of restarting our computer core with the "Ambassador's" ship which is close at hand. Any questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, objections?

Remeti stared at the panel. For some reason the line: "green wire or red wire" kept popping in to her mind. She sudden;y placed the phrasing and began to chuckle. It was a somewhat apt analogy. The wrong wired could make the El Sal go up in a lovely fireball.

Steve had not long hobbled over to his chair and sat down. His leg was feeling a little bit better, but he would still need to take a vist to Sickbay when this crisis was over. Right now, he was more concerned on getting his ship operational.
As he was looking around the bridge, he suddenly heard small chuckle. He turned his head, and found that it was coming from Rem.
"Something funny, Re....Lieutenant?" He asked, trying to sound serious.

For the 3rd time Aral found himself rolling his eyes at the engineer.
"You should stop that, your eyes'll get stuck that way." Max said as he tapped happily away on the console.
"Thats what my mother said and my eyes are fine." Aral replied.
"That's a matter of opinion." Power said under his breath.
"Just give me the report!" The elder officer said trying to sweep his hair out of his eyes. He needed a hair-cut.
Max gave a little chuckle and slapped a PADD into Aral's hand, "There you go. Your getting a bit grouchy, you know? You should have a snack."
Aral simply gave Max a look and crawled back into the jeffries tube, "I'll be back in a bit to check on the engines. I'm taking this report up to the commodore."
"See you soon!" Power shouted as Aral closed the opening. Aral crawled onwards.
~On the bridge~
Aral pushed open the panel and crawled out, slightly more skilled than he had in engineering. Still steadying himself, he limped over to the commodore.
"Captain. Here's the systems report Ensign Power gave me."

"I'm am so getting engineering for dummies." she muttered under her breath

'Did she just poke her tongue out at me?' He thought to himself. 'Ooh, is she going to get it later.'
He looked around, everyone appeared to be working...not much progress was being made, but at least they were doing something.

Max contuined tapping away on the consoles. There wasn't much he could do but sip on his hot soup.
Suddenly a crewman runs in
Crewman "MAX MAX!" he shouted.
Max "Crewman! Crewman!"
Crewman, a little puzzled, "Um..sir we are about to start the rebooting of the impluse engines. We need your confirmation sequence."
Max "TO THE IMPULSE DRIVE...engines...something a rather."
Crewman "Impulse drive computer?"
Max "YES!" Max turns around quickly and takes 2 steps at full pace before smacking into a fallen pole, landing backwards.
Crewman "Sir are you ok?"
Max "Give me....CRAP!"
Max gets up and starts to walk slowly towards the impulse drive where he will give the sequence.
Max "Get someone up to the bridge and tell them we are about to restart the impulse engines. And bring me some ice...with coke...hold the scotch."
Crewman "Uh...understood"
The two go their seprate ways, with max feeling a bit worse for wear.

"Thank you Mr. Gibson." Loskene took the PADD from his 2nd officer and gave it a quick look.
Aral headed over to his terribly disfigured console. After looking it over he decided it was mostly in the appearance. After repairing a few severed wires he was able to use the console normally. Max had told him the sheilds could be powered to 4 %, phasers to 7 %, and the that they ability to fire 2 torpedos... not exactly good.
If the sheilds and phasers could be powered at all that means there was available power left in the system but either the main power supply was weak or something was impeding the power transfer. Aral was hoping it was the latter. He began to run a scan of the power transfer system when a runner came up from engineering.
"Max- I mean Ensign Power says he going to try to reboot the impulse engines!" He said as he got out of the jeffries tube.
"Alright. Thank you Ensign." Loskene told him, and as the runner was about to get back into the tube Aral grabbed him by the shoulder.
"Tell him to put turbolifts at the top of his priority list. It'll save lots of time!" He said to him.
"Yes, Commander Gibson." He said before getting back into the jeffries tube.

Kevin, unable to locate Tepes, returned to the computer core. He wondered if it were possible to create a make-shift comm badge which could contact the Jefferson, but that did not seem likely. Besides, to calibrate the comm badge, it could take days, or even weeks. The computer was now ready to be jumpstarted, or to reboot itself, but since it could not reboot itself in time to restore life support, Kevin decided not to attempt it. He would wait until the Jefferson sent someone to them and then he could ask for a computer jumpstart. At least if they had to, the ship could be evacuated via escape pods...

OOC: Hello all, I just got assigned to the Jefferson, and since we seem to be in the middle of a mission where a shuttle pod arriving seems rather off I decided to write myself in. Please anyone, if something is seriously wrong let me know. I didn’t have the time to read every previous posts, so I winged it a bit.
Looking forward to simming here and doing my best to read up as soon as I can.
IC: It seemed like just an day ago that cadet Joni Kel, fresh out of the academy, walked to the docking bay of starbase Conqueror. Trying to smoothen her always jumpy black hair she had hurried along, having feared she was already late. In her left hand had been a PADD which held her destination and a map though the huge starbase. She had always been bad at directions, something that seemingly all hosts before her had had. For a brief moment she had wondered if it was a Trill habit.
After two wrong turns she had finally found the dock. Slowly she had entered the tube and passes though the doors, waiting patiently for the first to close and the second to open. Smiling brightly and standing in position she had announced her arrival to the man waiting for her.
“Cadet Joni Kel, reporting for duty.” She had said proudly, jumping with joy to join the training mission.
“At ease cadet.” The man had said smiling faintly as he saluted her a little. “My name is Commander Edwards, first officer of the USS Hepta. Welcome aboard cadet. I wish I could keep you here longer.”
“I-I’m sorry sir, I’m afraid I don’t understand.” She had said, slightly nervous. This wasn’t a standard greeting, was it?
“Come with me and I’ll explain.” The man had answered and turned. As they walked though the corridor’s of the Hepta Joni felt excited. Memory after memory of the space travels of her previous hosts had surfaced, crashing against a strong block in her mind like the sea on the cliffs on the shores of her homeworld.
A short walk (in which Joni had already lost all sense of direction) had led them to a standardly decorated office. A model of the ship, a picture of home on the desk and a plant. Carefully she had sat down across the commander and had waited for what was to come.
“Cadet, have you heard of the USS Jefferson?” The commander asked.
It had taken her a moment to remember, but since the fleets were a required exam to take, she soon remembered that it was the alpha squadron flagship. Commanded by Commodore Loskene. It was a sovereign class starship, used mainly for exploration.
As she had stated all of this the man had smiled and raised his hand, stopping her almost in mid-sentence. “You passed the exam cadet. Calm down. You will learn all you need to know about her when you arrive there.”
“Upon her non-understanding look he had added: “Yes, cadet-- or should I say acting ensign?—you are being transferred to the Jefferson. They are soon going on a mission on which they could use a counselor. Your qualifications as a nurse help as well, seeing as they are missing a CMO. You leave tonight, 20:00 hours. The shuttlepod Yates will take you to the rendezvous place. Good luck!”
The rest of the talk had been unimportant, and she was too stunned to really care at all about the small chit chat. A bit shaken she had gone to collect her bags from the Hepta and then had met up with Lieutenant Daniel Terrin, the pilot of the Yates. To make an already long story short, the trip had been heaven. She had allowed her mind to wander as she looked out into the deep dark of outer space, only broken by the little dots she would be exploring. All of the hosts of the Kel symbiont had been adventurers, always trying to invent new things, to explore new places. The only reason Tobias hadn’t gone into outer space was that the technology just wasn’t there yet.
Her welcome with the captain had gone well. He had advised her to start looking over the crew reports and all the data so far collected on sector 984. She took his advice to heart and had gone to socialize a little on her own. It wasn’t hard to see that the last transmission of the ship they had been chasing got everyone on edge. Although the senior officers managed mostly on their own, several others came to her to voice their concerns. Out of the few talks she had had with the captain she tried to pick the things that would calm the crew down. Most the talks helped and she grew more confidant.
She had to admit that she too had been, and still was scared. When the attack started, and the power failed she had tried to go out in search for answers, but she had gotten hopelessly lost. And when she wasn’t, she was stopped by the crew. She gave them a short pep talk and sent them back to their work.
It took her long, but eventually she reached the bridge of the Jefferson. As she entered she first looked around at the huge mess. Throughout most of the ship there had been explosions, but nowhere near as bad as on the bridge.
“Counselor, welcome, please excuse the mess…” Loskene said, glancing at the indeed rather awful mess.
“Captain, can I talk to you for a short minute?” She asked, smiling softly, nodding at his welcome.
OOC: Tag Loskene and anyone else on the bridge who feels the irresistible urge to respond to this ^_^
OOC2: Again sorry this is a bit of a mess…

OFF: No problem, Joni Kel. We should be done with this mission soon. The El Salvador and the Jefferson were doing a joint mission, but as soon as they are able to limp back to Starbase Assiliant, they will.
ON:
Kevin approached Captain Smith. The science officer was getting thirsy again, but now was not the time to feed... and attacking a senior officer would definatly blow his cover.
Kevin: "Captain Smith, the computer chips have been completely replaced. There are a few options we have; we can put everyone in the escape pods except for the science teams (OFF: they would be wearing suits like Picard, Worf, and Hawk in First Contact) which will be rebooting the computer manually; I recommend we wait to see if the Jefferson can jumpstart our computer with theirs, though. It would be much faster."
Smith: "How fast?"
Kevin: "Well, it has never been timed, but the estimates are around ten to fifteen minutes. The only problem is, there is no way to get to a computer core jumpstarted without another Federation vesel. Our computer core would work fine with the Jefferson's, except we can't reach them. What would you have me do, sir?"
<Smith>
Kevin: "Aye, sir."
