OFF: Seeing as I am in command until a new CO is sorted out, I am going to try and keep us all posting to show what a great crew we are!
ON:
[FO Quarters]
Steven awoke very early in the morning. He got out of his bed, took a shower and put on a fresh uniform. He then left his quarters and headed for his office.
[FO Office]
Upon arriving at his office, Steven noticed the pile of Padds on his desk. He was becoming quite popular for some reason lately.
Steven checked the time and decided to see if the captain needed him for anything. Rather than go and find him, he pressed a button on his data console.
"Computer, please locate Captain Harrias." He asked.
"Captain Harrias is no longer aboard the El Salvador." The computer replied.
Steve was confused, to say the least. "Explain."
"Captain Harrias has been recalled by Starfleet Command."
'Ok,' Steve thought to himself. 'that was very sudden.
"Who is now in command of the El Sal?" Steve asked.
"The USS El Salvador has been placed under temporary command of Commander First Class Steven Smith."
'Me?' Steve thought. 'We it IS understandable.'
He stayed in his chair for a few moments to think. After a while, he shot up out of the chair.
'I guess I had best show my face on the Bridge.'
Steve then left his office and headed to the Bridge. Upon entering, he looked round to see......
OFF: Tag..anyone. Anyone at all!

OFF: For now we'll assume that we're just going to continue our posting in this thread, and we'll let the other mission thread die for now.
ON:
Commander Savot sat at the Ops position as usual, he was barely ever away from it when things were calm. The ship had come out of warp when a recall order came through for Captain Harrias from Starfleet Command. Apparently there was a family emergency which required his immediate attention. Savot certainly wasn't one for gossip, but many of the young crew members were, and news spread like wildfire. Only problem with that was, you could never be sure how accurate any of it was.
But, regardless of the reason, Captain Harrias had boarded a shuttle and headed back for HQ. Now, the El Salvador was to patrol a wide loop around the core of Section 47 space, so that they could be easily recalled whenever a decision was confirmed as to Captaincy of the vessel. The patrol would likely last several days before a decision was made in any direction, and aboard this ship that left infinite possibilities to get into trouble.
Savot turned his head as Commander Smith entered and stood in front of the center seat. He leaned over and pressed the intraship comm panel, relaying his message to the entire crew. "Crew of the El Salvador, this is First Officer Smith from the bridge. Captain Harrias has been recalled to HQ on personal business. Command has placed me in temporary command until a decision is confirmed by Headquarters. The Acting First Officer during this time will be Commander Savot, who will continue his duties as Ops Chief as well. I want everyone to give their best, and I have no doubts that you all will do just that. El Sal is the best ship in the fleet, and we're going to keep her that way. Smith out."
Savot raised an eyebrow slightly at the mention of his additional duties, and nodded to Smith in acknowledgement. "I will endeavour to aid you to the best of my ability, Commander Smith."
Smith grinned, "Savot, I won't lose one single wink of sleep over it."
Savot's face developed an odd expression as he digested the statement, then seemed to reach an epiphany as he reached into his memory and conjured up the section on human figures of speech. He then understood the meaning and nodded slowly, turning back to his duties, grateful for the Commander's faith.

::DanTrek had just finished running a Warp Core diagnostic. There was a slight imbalance in the Plasma flow, but other than that, everything seemed fine::
DanTrek: Stevens, get in there and repair that plasma conduit.
Stevens: Aye, sir.
::DanTrek then stood looking around for a moment, when Kivan came into Engineering, walking rather quickly::
Kivan: Commander, the Freighter carrying the new Fusion Reactor has just arrived.
DanTrek: Excellent. Let's go.
::DanTrek and Kivan left Engineering and went to a turbolift::
DanTrek: Cargo Bay 3
Kivan: Sir, how are we going to get this reactor in place? It's huge.
DanTrek: Site-to-site transporters, Lt. Only way to do it with something this large.
Kivan: Of course, sir.
::Just then, the doors opened and DanTrek and Kivan exited and then entered the Cargo Bay::
DanTrek: Are we ready for transport?
Ensign: Yes, Commander.
::DanTrek and Kivan moved over to the two Transporter Control consoles::
DanTrek: Energize.
::On the empty Cargo Transporter pad, the form of a very large object began to appear. But then, the beam began fluctuating::
DanTrek: Boost the Anular Confinement Beam.
::It continued to flicker::
Kivan: Its not working!
DanTrek: Realigning the pattern buffer.
::The image resolved. On the Pad now stood the fusion reactor. It was large....very large. It was ten feet tall, and twenty feet wide::
DanTrek: Alright, lets work on getting the old one out and the new one in.

Savot stood at the rear of the bridge for a moment, a PADD in hand correlating some data from the science station. He was monitoring the transfer of the new reactor from the freighter to the cargo bay under the supervision of Commander Dantrek and Lt. Kivan. There were some slight problems during transport, but they were sorted out and the transfer went through as planned.
Savot turned upon hearing the turbolift doors open and admit the new Security/Tactical Chief, Ensign Remeti Lucas. Savot turned to face the new crewmember. "Greetings, Ms. Lucas. I have not yet had the opportunity to offer you a welcome.", he tilts his head in a nod. "Welcome aboard, Ensign. Your records indicate you will perform admirably at your station."

Steven also turned and noticed Ensign Lucas.
"Ensign." Was all he said as he nodded. It was his way of greeting.
He looked over to Commander Savot.
"It seems we have a new mission as well." He said, handing a Padd to Savot. "It seems that one of our listening posts close to the Neutral Zone has suddenly stopped communicating. Now there could be a simple explanation, but Starfleet want us to have a check anyway."

"Thank you sir, I won't let you down.", came the reply from Ensign Lucas as she took her station at Tactical. Then Savot turned and listened to Smith's layout of the mission.
"Understood, sir. Helm, set course for the following coordinates, Warp 5.", Savot crossed the bridge and sat at the Ops station, accessing the mission outlay from Starfleet Command and transmitting the coordinates of the listening post to the navigation console.
Savot tapped his commbadge, "Commander Dantrek, Lieutenant Kivan, standby to have a repair team prepped within the next 13 hours. I am transmitting the situation report from Starfleet to the main engineering station at this time. There may be nothing left to repair, but preparation is a logical step at this point."
Commander Dantrek's voice responded, "Understood, Commander Savot, we'll be ready. Engineering out."
Commander Smith nodded to the vulcan and tossed a confident nod to Ensign Lucas as well before sitting in the center seat as the helmsman shot off towards their goal, the stars becomming rainbow pinpoints as the vessel launched into warp.

:: Deis, of course, stands in Sickbay absolutly ignorant of what the heck is goin on...but then shes all facinated by some new BUG shes got growing in the virology tanks so like she notices. She didnt even realize we had stopped until hearing...::
:: The good doctor thinks about this for a minute and then just slaps her Padd down on her counter looking extremly annoyed::
How in th 'ell are we sposed t be explorin when we canna keep a Captain aboard?! One gets murdered, th' next is th Murderer an th' verra next goes POOF!!
::the small petite doctor rants on this for a good 15 minutes as though it was just too much to be borne. Her nurses were well used to this by now and just keep a polite distance. Though a few venture to agree with her and sickbay almost ends up in a riot of irish ire...which is strange because shes the only human in sickbay, must less the only irishman.::
Thank th good Laird tha we be havin th' Commanders...else we'd be floyin through space wi ME at th helm! ::Grinning widely...many nurses laugh heartily but a few think that would be a very frightening prospect...theyve seen this womans driving on the holodecks::
OFF: Ok i know im being kinda useless right now but what do you expect a Doctor to do. Least im not making yall come in for physicals. and i SHOULD! *giggles*

OFF: Ok, thanks for letting us know. Have a good time.
ON: Steven looked over to Remeti. She didnt look that happy. So he got up out his chair and walked towards her.
"It's going to be ok. I know it will be your first time in the Neutral Zone, but everything will work out." Steve told her, smiling.
He went back to his chair and sat down. Then a thought hit him. He tapped his commbadge.

The young assistant Chief Engineer had been quite thankful when the new chief had come aboard a few weeks ago. His own tenure in that position had only ever been temporary, but for some reason, it had taken a fair while for Command to find a decent Chief, or maybe it had just been the problems with all the Captaincy changes, and that noone had got around to making a decision. The Xenexian didn't really know, but he was sure glad that someone else made the tough decisions now.
The large fusion reactor that was now sat in Cargo Bay 3 was hefted onto anti-grav pads, and then it was slowly moved across the bay. The old one was being removed via a similar method, and Kivan and DanTrek watched a side each, as the engineering staff eased it gradually in. About twenty minutes after they had started, it was in position, and the tricky process of reattaching all the plasma conduits, power couplings and all other attachments was to take place. DanTrek received a comm call from the bridge and soon made his way back to Main Engineering leaving Kivan in charge of the remainder of the installation.
The installation from here was essentially automatic, but it was prudent for Kivan to keep an eye on all the settings and to hand check all the connections once the installation was complete, before he rebooted the reactor. The computer took a few minutes, and then Kivan slid in the small gap beside the reactor, and yanked and twisted each conduit and coupling in turn. They all held fast. He slipped back out and then gradually turned the reactor on. The percentages on the screen rose together. The old reactor had levelled off at about 87.6% but this one climbed easily past that, and reached a total of 96.5% efficiency before it levelled off. This meant that the plasma coolant was used more sparingly which meant in turn that the Warp Engine could take more and run to a much higher spec.
=/\= Kivan to Commander DanTrek, the Reactor has been reinstalled successfully and is running at 96.5% I recommend that we don't push it too hard for a week or so though. =/\=
=/\= Agreed. DanTrek out. =/\=
The Xenexian smiled, considering this one a job well done, and made his way back to Engineering.

::the ranting of a few hours before over, the Doctor is once again entranced within the microbiology section of her lab, gazing at a small germs structure when suddenly::
~chirp chirp~
=/\= Commander Smith to Dt Irae. Doctor, when would be the best time for my physical? I would rather get it out of the way ASAP. =/\=
:: Deis is drawn from her miniscule colony building to the present by the chirping and the melodious voice of the Head Man...she smiles to herself and taps her badge::
Deis: =/\=Iffen ye dinna be t' busy on th' bridge then th' now would be a good time, Commander.=/\=
Smith: =/\=Now's perfect Doctor. On my way.=/\=
::The Commander smiles at Remeti Lucas and heads off of the bridge. It dosent take him long to get to sickbay, turbolifts empty, the ships relitavly quiet. The doors of the Sickbay swish open before him and he is quickly faced with the small smiling irishwoman. When she steps up to him shes forced to look way up but shes well accustomed to it. Smith smiles and looks about::
Smith: Where should i be Doctor?
Deis::: she looks over the Commander carefully, though this may slightly disconcert him:: Over here Commander ::motioning towards one of the flattened biobeds:: Th' physical isna strenuous and will take nae a moment. sit down and be comfortable. ::going to adjust this scanning miracle of a bed::
Smith: Should i have to get undressed? ::stepping over to the table and sitting down atop it::
Deis: ::with a straight face and eyes innocently wide:: Only if ye want t Commander.
::Thats about when the tension eases up and they both laugh...Smith shakes his head, chuckling. Deis steps up to a table and picks up a largeish tricorder. different from the usual medical tricorders. With a smallish laser pen she checks his eyesight, a smallish prick to the finger reveals his blood chemestry and metabolism. a general body diagnostic is run and she references this with his past medical records. Blood pressure and vitals. Toxicology, hearing, reflexes and reaction time. She goes through the whole list though this takes less than 15 minutes total, speaking softly in that lilting voice the whole while. Explaining exactly what shes doing for each. By the time shes finished theres almost nothing about Commander Smiths inner body that she dosent know. Its only a few moments more until her results are calculated and she returns to the Commander smiling with a hypospray in hand::
Smith: What are you going to do with that Doctor?
Deis: Tis a vaccination against certain spaceborne viruii. Accordin t yer records ye are due for a replacement vaccination. It willna hurt Commander ::winks and without another word, taps her hypospray on the commanders shoulder, vaccinating him through his uniform sleeve::
Thar ye be Commander. Fit as a fiddle, you can return t yer duties now.

::DanTrek went to his station and looked at the report that was waiting for him. Standard Class 5 Listening Post; type 1 power generator, Long-range subspace transmitter, low power shield matrix. Sounded simple enough::
DanTrek: Computer, what are possible reasons this Listening Post may have stop transmitting.
Computer: Processing.....Possible explanations include: Generator failure, Power distribution malfunction, Damage to subspace transmitter and destruction of probe
DanTrek: What power is on the other side of that part of the Neutral Zone?
Computer: The Romulan Star Empire
DanTrek: Given the history between the Federation and the Romulan Empire, what is the probability that the Romulans would damage or destory the listening post?
Computer: There is approximately a 38 percent chance that the Romulans would attack the listening post
DanTrek: Pretty good odds. ::he tapped his commbadge:: =/\= DanTrek to Commander Smith. Sir, I've been checking with the Computer, and among the possibilities for the post to stop transmitting is that the Romulans attacked it =/\=
Smith: =/\= How much of a possibility? =/\=
DanTrek: =/\= 38%, according to the Computer =/\=
Smith: =/\= Let's hope that the other 62% happens. Thank you, Commander. Smith out =/\=

Smith tapped off his commbadge and turned to face Savot. "Hmm, you heard Dantrek's comments, how likely do you think Romulan interference is?"
"Under normal circumstances I would have believed the 62% non-interference potential as more likely, however, given our recent encounter with the rogue faction of Romulans aligned with the Gorn, this could have some further connection to their efforts.", Savot stated, drawing a slight wince from Smith as he shared in the recollection of that hideous tour of duty... the 2nd and final mission under Captain Vreenak's captaincy.
Smith groaned, "I hope your concerns end up unwarranted, Savot. I have no desire whatsoever to run into any more of that sort."
Savot nodded, "Nor have I, sir."
Commander Smith sat in the center chair, began to tap away at his console, then his head perked up in remembrance, "Oh, Savot, by the way. The Doc says your physical is up next. She asked me to tell you. Consider yourself dismissed from bridge duty until you're done."
Savot rose from his seat after summoning his replacement. "Understood, sir. I shall return at the first opportunity." Savot returned Smith's friendly nod and strolled into the turbolift, headed for the petite Irish Doctor's fortress of medicinal conquest.
**************************************
Savot entered the sickbay following the whoosh of the opening doors. Doctor Irae smiled widely at the prospect of getting another crewmember's physical out of the way, and came over quickly, gesturing Savot to a biobed.
As Deis walked over to her tray of instruments, Savot spoke up, "If you please, Doctor, be sure not to confuse vulcan medical norms with those of the Gorn described in the seminar we attended."
Deis stopped in her tracks. Surely Savot wasn't seriously calling her medical talents into question, but.... could he really have been making a joke?

Steve was still sitting in his chair on the bridge. SAvot had not long left for his physical, so he should be back soon.
He tapped his console. "Computer, whats our ETA?" He asked.
"Estimated Time Of Arrival is 18 hours." Came the computer's polite reply.
"Hmm, 18 hours." Steve said to himself. "Thats plenty of time to get the equipment sorted.

::DanTrek stood next to the desk in his office. He had called an Engineering Staff Briefing. Kivan was there, along with a few other Engineers. Pearsons and Stevens, and Johnson were there, but Joktel and Paria had not yet arrived. Just then they walked in::
::DanTrek acknowledged them and everyone assumed a semi-circle pattern. DanTrek moved to a screen on the wall. He pressed a few keys and a schematic of the listening post appeared::
DanTrek: Alright everyone, this is our target; a Class 5 listening post. You've all seen them and are familiar with them. We're currently 12 hours away from it.
Joktel: What's our goal with this listening post?
DanTrek: Patience, Ensign. I was just getting to that. This listening post has stopped transmitting. We don't know why yet.
Pearsons: Perhaps its reactor shut down
Stevens: Or a power distribution failure
Johnson: Or it could be a transmitter malfunction.
DanTrek: It could be any one of those. It may even have been destroyed yet. We just don't know yet.
::DanTrek then noticed that Paria wasn't paying much attention. The Trill was looking down and seemed worried about something::
DanTrek: Something wrong, Lt?
Paria: Yes, sir. There's another possibility. What if this wasn't a simple malfunction?
Kivan: Unlikely.
DanTrek: Yes, thats another possibility. Theres a good chance the Romulans damaged it.
::The Engineers present began to look alarmed. Paria slightly lost color and began fidgeting::
DanTrek: Don't worry, thats only one of the possibilities. But we'll assume thats not the case. We're going to assume this is a simple repair job.
::Paria was moved a little, then she accidentally knocked a stack of PADDs off the desk. DanTrek moved and picked them up::
Paria: Oh! Commander, I'm so sorry. It was an accident.
::DanTrek placed them back on the desk::
DanTrek: Don't worry about it.
Paria: It's just that....when I grew up on a Freighter. When I was 7, some Romulan rogues attacked us. My father was killed.
DanTrek: Understandable, Lt. But remember, theres only a small chance it was Romulans. Don't worry. Dismissed.
::Everyone else left. Paria looked at nothing but the floor as she left::

:: Deis stopped in her tracks. Surely Savot wasn't seriously calling her medical talents into question, but.... could he really have been making a joke?. She looooks at him and he lifts one of those vulcan brows and Deis just cracks up. After a moment shes composed herself and smiling at the Commander, answering primly::
Deis: Well i dinna yer so similar an all. Ill try t keep it in me moind. ::winks one of her greyish eyes and gets to work...but making sure that Savot notices her spiffy lil hypospray holster...yeah. she had that bad boy replicated after the Gorn-Romulan kidnapping thing. She takes out her also incredibly spiffy ((being a Doctor is all about the spiffness of the toys)) medical tricorder and gives Mr. Savot the business. She talks to Savot as she checks his entire being:: Wha' be all this bout Th' Neutral Zone Commander? ::scan scan scan::
Savot: The Listening station posted just on the Neutral Zones edge has ceased transmitting. We are currently underweigh to investigate.
Deis: ::she currently pricks his finger for a small blood sample and then runs it, looking back to him:: Ach! are we talkin Romulans 'ere? Again?
Savot: We have no evidence as yet to suggest that the Romulans caused the station to cease transmitting. It could be something as simple as a technical malfunction. Prudent to inquire even though.
Deis: ::she nods and gets up the results for that and then goes to the senses check. her instruments are calibrated for the vulcan norms and for Savots medical records specificaly(sp). She flashes a laser across his eyes taking the reading, and then checks his ears...which she personally finds just neat as all get out...because hes Vulcan and theyre pointy...after a good 20 minutes she knows all there is to know about Savots physiological systems.:: Do keep me posted aye Commander? :stepping back:: Yer absolutly fine. In perfect shape fer active duty...which we knew ye would be. ::she smiles at him::
Savot: Thank you Doctor ::smoothing out his impeccable uniform:: No Hypospray?
Deis: ::laughs hard again:: Nae ill be gettin ye next time. Oh...and iffen ye dinna 'ave anythin t be doin after shift...drinks on me aye? ::letting the fully healthy Vulcan go back to his duties and returning to her work::
::free for the moment she heads back to her office. There is a name on her list of physicals that shes been dreading. The man should be given a dispensation or something but for now she has to do as shes ordered...she leans back in her chair sighing long sufferingly at the prospect of giving a physical to an almost completly unknown Species. Fun? Heh. Thats what we Doctors LIVE for!!::

Savot nodded to Deis as he left, accepting the offer for some off-duty fellowship. "I would welcome the company, Doctor." He then headed through the corridors to the turbolift.
As he stepped inside, his commbadge bleeped. "Kivan to Savot. Sir, the engineering staff meeting is complete, Commander Dantrek has just reported for his physical. The repair teams have their assignments and are approaching full readiness."
Savot tapped the device on his chest and replied, "Very good, Mr. Kivan. Yourself and Commander Dantrek are to be congratulated on your promptness. I shall inform Commander Smith of your progress. Savot out."
The communication ended just as the turbolift doors swooshed open and Savot entered the bridge. Smith turned to look, "Well, Savot, how'd things go with the Doc?"
"I am in good health, sir, fully able to perform my duties." Savot nodded to Smith and sat down at Ops, spinning to face the Commander before assuming his post. "Also, Lt. Kivan reports that Engineering is approaching full readiness pending our initial findings regarding the station's status."
Smith smiled and nodded, "That's good news. I'm glad to hear things are proceedingly smoothly despite the difficulties of the past weeks."
Savot nodded his agreement, and turned to his console, organizing duty rosters and setting aside several of the long range sensor banks for scanning upon arrival at the station's coordinates. He then checked the chronometer to determine how long he had before going off-duty.
1 hour, 47 minutes, before he was off bridge duty for awhile. He wanted to return before they arrived at the listening post, but he should have plenty of time to meet the Doctor for refreshment before having to return to the bridge.
Savot transmitted the time to the Doctor's console in sickbay, assuming she was still there giving Commander Dantrek his physical. He would be interested in hearing Deis' new insights into the Commander's species.

Steven checked the time. There was still a long time before they reached the listening post. He turned to Savot.
"I see that you are off duty in about an hour and three quarters. Have a good time, and get some rest. We will need to be alert in case anything is wrong at the border. I , on the other hand, and going to stay here for a while, just to make sure that things are going smoothly."
He turned back to the viewscreen, and watched the stars go by for a few minutes.
"Actually," He said. "I need to go through a few things in my Ready Room. If I am not back before you are gone, let me know so I can take over."

After informing the acting Captain that his work was complete, Kivan got himself a cup of hot chocolate from the replicator. He eased himself into a seat, and supped it slowly.
A blipping noise disturbed his rest, and he turned to the console behind him to silence it, not exactly sure what was causing it. His hand fell down on the console in an attempt to quieten it, but still it continued. The young Xenexian's brow furrowed. He spun around in his seat and stood up, examining the workstation.
"Dammit. Paria, get gamma team down to the reactor that we just installed. The tertiary dampning rods are offline, and the primary and secondary were already shut down. That thing is effectively a nuclear bomb without them. If we don't get some boron rods back in there, there will be a chain reaction."
Paria and the gamma engineering team rushed down to the cargo bay, and Kivan jogged after them. He arrived a couple of minutes later, and immediately attempted to shut it down.
"It won't commander, I've already tried."
"But without the boron rods to absorb the neutrons, they will collide with more... and then... and..." He grabbed a hyperspanner out of his kit, and leapt on top of the reactor. He pulled the panel on top of it off. He tapped a few buttons, and then yet again he was met with nothing. "Lieutenant, we're going to have to manually shut it down, can you man the other station?" Paria replied affirmatively, and she took a place next to another panel. Simultaneously, they both ripped out the pull stop that was in there, which shut the reactor down, removing the Uranium to a safe location, free of neutron bombardment.
They both sighed in relief, and then set to work. It appeared that the boron rods were used up, and hadn't been replaced at the correct time. With all the shifting of duties and crew, the job had been overlooked, and could have easily resulted in the destruction of the ship. Although most people associated the warp core with such danger, in reality almost anything on the vessel had the potential to blow up and rip the ship apart.

Remeti sighed. She'd been avoiding the godforsaken physical and now she had a feeling everyone in her depatment had had one but her.
I hate those things. I hate them with a passion she thought to herself.
In fact the only thing she probably hated even more was counceling.
Remeti walked in to Sickbay. It appeared that the good doctor was already busy. Remeti sighed. She'd posponed it again. She turned to leave.

Steve came out of his ready room and onto the bridge just as Savot was leaving. He smiled and nodded to the Commander.
In Steven's hands were a couple of data padds. He decided to work on them from the bridge.
Several hours passed and Steve had completed his work with the padds.
"Computer, whats our ETA?"He asked.
"Estimated Time of Arrival in 2 hours." came the reply.
"Hmm, two hours?" He said to himself. "Almost time to find out the truth."

::Several hours had passed. DanTrek had spent part of that time monitoring the new reactor; there had been some problems with it. He had also spent some time repairing some power conduits on Deck 12. He was now checking those conduits making sure those conduits to make sure there were irregularities in the power flux::
Kivan: Commander, the position of the listening post is coming into the view of the long-range sensors.
DanTrek: Thank you, Lt.
::DanTrek went over to the main Engineering console. Kivan followed him::
DanTrek: =/\= DanTrek to Ops. I need some space in the long-range sensors =/\=
::Brief Pause::
Ops Officer: =/\= You have 5% of the available bandwidth, Commander =/\=
Kivan: 5? That isn't very much.
DanTrek: We don't need much. Just enough to confirm whether it's there or not.
::DanTrek scanned the area of the Listening Post's last known position::
DanTrek: And indeed it is still there.
Kivan: Anything idea whats wrong with it?
DanTrek: We can't tell from this range. Long-range sensors aren't designed for that level of detail. We'll have to wait till we get closer.
DanTrek: =/\= DanTrek to Ops. We don't need the bandwidth any longer =/\=
Smith: =/\= DanTrek, this is Cmdr Smith. Report =/\=
DanTrek: =/\= Well, sir, at least the probe is still there. Thats all we know at this point =/\=
Smith: =/\= Alright. Keep me posted. Smith out =/\=

::All preparations for repairing the probe were complete, and with half an hour till they got there, DanTrek was feeling pretty good about himself. He was just about to lean against a wall and relax a moment when...::
Paria: Sir, the Warp Core containment field is fluctuating!
::The field was visibly fluctuating::
Kivan: We've got about 10 minutes before that thing fails!
::DanTrek quickly moved to the Warp Core Diagnostic Console::
DanTrek: =/\= DanTrek to Bridge. I need more power to the Warp Core Containment Field NOW! =/\=
Smith: =/\= Is there a problem Commander? =/\=
DanTrek: =/\= You bet there is. We're losing the Containment field =/\=
Smith: =/\= Can you restore it =/\=
DanTrek: =/\= Working on it =/\=
::The field was down to 80% and falling::
DanTrek: Kivan, realign them Field emitters.
Kivan: Aye, sir.
::That only restored it to 85%::
Paria: Something is negating the field!
Joktel: Theres Epsilon radiation coming from an EPS relay.
DanTrek: Parsons, shut down that relay and re-route power.
::The field was restored::
DanTrek: Thats better. Kivan, Paria, get up there and replace that relay.
Kivan: Aye, sir.
----------------Several minutes later-----------------------
::Kivan returned, pushing on a cart a blackened EPS relay::
DanTrek: What happened to that thing?
Kivan: A power overload. A massive power overload.
DanTrek: We'll have to keep an eye on that.
::Stevens approached them::
Stevens: Sir, we're 1 minute away from the probe
