Lorna was demolishing the last of her chocolate pastry when Noah paid the bill and excusing himself left the table. Lorna looked across table at Polly.
"I'm not supposed to be anyway else at the moment. I've got half a mind to have another pastry, are you stopping?"

"I am so sorry gentleman, I guess I am just excited to meet so many of my shipmates at once. What about you guys?" Cadet Wolfe asked.
"Quite understandable, Cadet. Coupled with the thrill of serving in space and Starfleet, I've seen it make the best-spoken Cadets stutter and trip over their own tongues with excitement. As for me, it's always a pleasure to meet new Cadets, and new Instructors especially so," Noah said, nodding to the new COO.
"Temporal dynamics, eh Cadet?" Noah said, returning to Wolfe's earlier comment. "Well my specialty is warp mechanics rather than temporal, but there's some temporal mechanics involved in that, so I'd have a few things to say on the subject. I'd be happy to discuss it with you sometime."
He looked at both Cadets. "So, what makes you think you're worthy to possibly become a Starfleet Officer?"

Cadet Wolfe rolled the Hanson's Chief Engineer's question over in his head for a few minutes. "What does make me worthy to be a starfleet officer?" he wondered quietly to himself. His reply was simple. "The desire to 'Explore strange new worlds. Seek out new lifeforms and new civilizations. To bodly go where no one has gone before.' Commander. That is what drives me to be a Starfleet officer. I know that that steals the line of Zephrym Cochran, but it is the only reason I feel I am worthy. It is becasue of that burning desire."
Again Cadet Wolfe seemed to be running amuck, but he wasn't here to not let people know why he was here. He was here to be a starfleet officer and he is prepared to do what it takes.

Redos could see the young man struggling with his answer a bit, which was quite understandable. Commander Bates had asked a very difficult question, one that the Lieutenant wasn’t sure he could answer put in the Cadet’s position. Still, Cadet Wolf had answered directly, and Egan could only admire his composure. Zachary’s reply had reflected the heart of a good Starfleet officer. Smiling at Wolfe, in what he hoped was an encouraging manner, Lieutenant Redos decided to change the subject to try and help him out.
“Have either of you Cadets ever served aboard a Starship before?”
<Tag Wolfe and Stewart>
“This will be my first mission aboard the Hanson as well, so the three of us will familiarize ourselves with the ins and outs of its systems together. Before this assignment, I served aboard a Nova class ship, so I’ll be adjusting to the Intrepid class along with the two of you. Lucky for us, we’ve already met Commander Bates here, so if we have any questions, we’ll know where to look for the answers.”
Sending a slight grin towards Noah, hoping the engineer understood that he was just trying to help put the two young men at ease and not actually unfamiliar with the Intrepid class design, Redos leaned forward with his elbows on the table.
“So, Commander, any secrets to serving aboard the Hanson you could share with us? I have of course heard plenty of stories…but then again stories can be exaggerated. Any advanced warning would be greatly appreciated.”

As Cadet First Class Jon Park transported on to the pad at starbase conqueror he felt home. As a Lt. Junior Grade handed him a padd with his temporary quarters Park felt he need to let off some steam. Putting his stuff down in the quarters they set aside for him he consulted the computer the bakery was the place to go.
As he headed to the bakery he saw a table with two Commanders a Lieutenant and a fresh new Cadet at it. Heading over to place his order he look around and decided to have tea. Taking the cup he headed over to them" Excuse me Sir's" addressing the Commanders " May i join you?

Cadet Wolfe was grateful for the encouragement he had received from Lt.Redos. It was great to have a commanding officer who was willing to sit back and let you have your say. The Lt. wondered out loud toward all of them if any of them had served on a startship before. "I haven't served on a Federation ship Lt. but I have made many a deep space run on my parents freighter The Mountaineer." Cadet Wolfe replied. ' All I can say sir is I hope the federation grav plating and initeral dampeneers are better than that old freighters were. You had to slowly bring her up to warp so the dampeners had time to keep her from squashing you aginst the bulkhead." Cadet Wolfe said with a smile. He hoped he Hadn't offended the Commander or scared the Lt. too bad. "So Lt. tell me about this Nova class ship you served on. I am not very familiar with that configuation." <tag redos>

Egan had to smile at Cadet Wolfe’s description of going to warp in an old freighter. The Bajoran had been on a few ships like that back in the day, and he well remembered feeling like you were inside something about to come apart. When asked about the Nova class, Lieutenant Redos smiled warmly at the memory. “It’s a smaller ship than the Intrepid class but very well designed. It didn’t have a lot of luxuries, but what it lacked in comfort it made up for in ability. That little ship was packed with an impressive array of top-of-the-line systems that could rival any of the larger, fancier vessels. It was no nonsense. That’s what I liked about it.”
Suddenly realizing he’d gotten a tad nostalgic on them, Egan grinned at them somewhat apologetically. “Sorry about that. I guess I’m still a bit attached. I served onboard for five years, so I suppose in a way that’s to be expected. I’m sure I’ll grow to love the Hanson just as much as the Ramirez. I am certainly looking forward to spending more time docked and actually getting regular maintenance between every mission, not to mention the time on base.”

Flashing a grin at Noah, who being an engineer surely understood getting attached to a vessel, Redos glanced up as their table was approached by another Cadet, this one a bit higher in rank. “Excuse me Sir's, may I join you?”
“Of course, Cadet, pull up a chair.” the Lieutenant encouraged, smiling kindly at the newcomer who did indeed join them, placing his tea on the table before him. “Looks like you just got back, am I right? How’d your training mission go?”

"It was fine,Sir You heard that the Hepta was lost so to speak. Of course i can't go into details but just to let you know Q was involved in it." Park looked at all the officers. Some saw that his statement was true,Yet the new Cadet looked lost. Turning to him Park said "Don't worry Cadet Wolfe Q is just a pain he doesn't hurt us just annoy us."
<Tag Wolfe>
As Park looked at the time in the replicator by their table he saw that it was getting close to when he was going to talk to both his mother and sister. Looking at the other officers" Excuse me sir's i have a commune i have take." Looking at the Cadet Park said "If the instructors on the Hanson is anything like mine were on the Hepta you will do just fine. If you need any help don't forget to ask questions that's what they are they for."
<Tag All>
Heading back to his quarters Park arrived just as the Lt.Commander in ops contacted him about his comcall."Thank you Sir, Put it though."
As the screen in front of him came to life he saw his mother on starbase 76 and his sister Marcy at Starfleet Prep. "Hi mom sorry for not returning your last commune i was on a mission, I cant go into it's classified. Anyway how are things with you? Are you still being considered for the Commander first class spot." As his mom Commander Park explained the her CO had not decided yet between another officer and her she was sure she would know soon. As the commune ended Park realized he didn't talk to his sister next time he thought.
Heading back to the bakery Park walked in to find more officers then before Park returned to the replicator by the table where the three offices and the new Cadet were still siting. Turning to the replicator Park said "Tea , Earl gray hot." As his drink appeared on the receptacle. Taking the drink Park looked over at the offices nodding he took a padd over to another table and sat reading started it.

While watching Park leave, Noah commented, "The Hepta and Hanson differ slightly in style, but not in quality. Both have top-notch Instructors. But of course, the differing personalities have some impact. The Hepta doesn't have a stubborn old man rattling around the Engine Room. Though Commander McFarland is no peach either."
Noah continued, when both Wolfe and Redos were silent. "Now, you asked secrets with regards to serving on Hanson. The best piece of advice I can offer is to watch out for Commander Hope. She's a passionate woman, but very strict. Shoddy work will get you on her bad side very fast, and she has a bit of a temper. If you manage to impress her, you know you're doing pretty well."

Cadet Wolfe knew very well who Q was, but he didn't want to insult a higher ranking Cadet by revealing his knowledge. Besides what Dr.Bashir had told him was classified information. "Sorry for the Confusion Cadet Park, but I am aware of the Q and their reality, though generally speaking of course. Growing up on DS9 sometimes even the most classified information turns into a good story over a Dabo game or two." Cadet Wolfe smiled at the thought of dabo girls and thought that they would be a good way to liven this place up but then he remembered he was on a starbase getting ready to go on a training mission on a state of the art intrepid class starship. The table grew quiet when Commander Bates spoke up. He was very to the point about a Commander Hope. This was an officer that Cadet Wolfe had no knowledge of but he wanted to know more especially if a strongwilled guy like Commander Bates was warning him about her. It was at this time he saw Cadet Park return to the Bakery. Cadet Wolfe smiled at him and Cadet Park returned his acknowledgement with a nod. 'So Lt and Commander tell me more about this Commander Hope, and what our mission on the Hanson may include.'

As Park continued to read his padd he wondered if when he would get the word about his graduation. Reviewing the other ships in the fleet that requested a tactical officers. he Figured he would try to find a friend of his tapping his combadge he called "Computer locate Cadet Mdrago." The Computer responded "That Cadet has not been issued a combadge." leaving the bakery Park went to see the XO.

"So Lt and Commander tell me more about this Commander Hope, and what our mission on the Hanson may include."
Noah shook his head, realizing his folly. "My apologies, Cadet. In a desire to share the little-known information, I bypassed the basics. Commander Hope is an Instructor aboard the Hanson, and more importantly is the Hanson's First Officer. An interesting woman, to say the least. She's Romulan, but she was born and raised on earth. Starfleet's still a little suspicious her after all these years, despite her fine service, but oh well. It's not my place to go into the details of a superior's service record. Doesn't like Sickbays, and yet she's married to a Doctor. She has a set of triplets, and one of which I'm proud to be the godfather of. I'll admit, there's been some friction between us. When you've got two very strong-willed, passionate, stubborn people working together, that tends to happen. But I must say, when it comes to teaching and leading in the Academy, you'll never find any better than S'reena Hope."

Redos listened intently to what the Chief Engineer was saying. While his question had been more along the lines of just making conversation, the answer had actually turned out to be quite useful. Having just arrived, Egan hadn’t completely familiarized himself with the crew, though he obviously knew who was in command. While he preferred to get to know people personally rather than relying on records or other sources, it was still very useful to learn about a person through those who worked closely with them. From the sounds of it, Commander Hope was an exception, if not perhaps somewhat formidable, First Officer.
“I’ll be certain to try and keep on her good side then, Commander. Thanks for the tip. I look forward to meeting her.” Egan replied, before turning back to his first two Cadets. “The three of us will have to keep on our toes from the sounds of it, but I’m sure we’ll manage. I need to finish unpacking and get settled in. Hopefully we’ll receive our orders soon, and I’ll see you both onboard the Hanson, and you too Commander. It’s been a pleasure to meet the three of you.”
With a smile, Lieutenant Redos stood from his chair and made his way back out onto the Promenade feeling greatly encouraged. He was certainly looking forward to his first mission on the Hanson, even more so now that he knew a few familiar faces. As the Bajoran made his way back towards his new quarters, Egan had a feeling that he was going to like his new assignment.

Cadet Wolfe stands and achknowledges he CO. "See you on the Hanson Lt. Redos" It was great to meet you. As the Lt. strolls away from the group Cadet Wolfe turns his atteniton back to Commander Bates. "So Commander word around the station is there was some type of Computer problem on the habitat levels. Since the Hanson won't be leaving for awhile is there something I could help with?"

Just as Cadet Wolfe Had made his offer to the Commander both of their badges went off. Cadet Wolfe excused himself and listened to his message. It was ordering him to the Hanson for his training mission. "Well Commander never mind I guess we have to get to the Hanson. Maybe we can track down the gremlins another time" Cadet Wolfe said with a smile. It was with that that Cadet Wolfe got up and strode out of the Tante Marie Bakery, and he hadn't even had a pastry or met a young lady to talk to.

"well sir" what with everyone talking I was brought up not to interrupt" James replied hoping that this was not seen as bad. It had been how he had been brought up.
<Anyone>
he hoped that by remaining qyiet he could learn something about his classmates he continued on"the reason I wanted to join starfleet wasto learn about other races and work with them." he looked at them all hoping this would give them some insght to his charcter.
<Anyone>>
James had wondered what the training cruse would be and what positio in ops would he get. he3 knew that his instructor would be a hard taskmaster like his father had been. but then again he knew it would be hard work to win his place.

Having seen a sign for a 'bakery' when Simon arrived on the station, it was his first port of call after he had discussed the possibility of a place on a training ship with Admiral Drew.
With most of the new cadets and the training staff boarding the USS Hanson, Simon felt restricted by his untimely arrival on Conqueror, and sat for a while outside and contemplated where he was.
The Tante Marie was a small shop, a front window overlooking onto the promenade, with several tables both inside and out, adorned with red and white tablecloths. For some reason the tables outside were sheltered by pineforest green umbrellas set into their centres, as if it would ever rain on the promenade, Simon thought.
Behind the counter, was an elderly Andorian woman, and the smell of caramelising sugar, and oh-so-tasty pastry filled the air as Simon made his way inside. The Andorian waved her antenna brightly at him as he entered.
"Something for the new recruit?" she queried.
"A pasty - beef steak if you have one, please,"
"An Earth traditionalist, if you please!" She held out the payment scanner for his thumbprint, "I can't say we don't get many orders for that!"
Simon smiled, and pressed his thumb firmly onto the device, recieved his dinner in a napkin, and meandered his way back out on to the promenade to sit down. It wasn't a bad pasty, all things considered, certainly it had been replicated, but that's what you got for living in an ethical society.
As he ate, he watched the early evening shoppers browsing the promenade. His personal possessions were currently in a containg box in the Transporter Room 12 storage area on the deck below. 'How many transporter rooms could one station have?' he wondered. Conqueror was a big place, and he was not even entirely sure if he had been assigned quarters, nor who he was required to ask...

At that moment, his combadge lit up.
"Commander Manto to Cadet Clark."
Simon tapped the badge on his chest, "Er... Cadet Clark here... er... Sir"
"Feel free to board the Hanson, Mr. Clark. I will be your instructor, since you will be joining as science."
The frustration immediately lifted, to be replaced with confusion, where did he need to go?
"Commander Elal will meet you in the Hanson's transporter room. Be quick, we are due to depart."
"Understood, Sir."
Simon wrapped what was left of his pasty in the napkin, and made his way to the transporter room on the deck below. Before long, he materialised aboard the USS Hanson, and was looking into the face of a rather stern Vulcan.
