"I really don't think I can do that. We only have this replicator, and your phaser isn't powerful enough to..."
"The reason I ask, is I think I've invented our delivery system. If I can do what Ensign Sloan suggested and attach the chemical to the muzzle of my phaser rifle, the discharge will vaporise it. The particle can then carry it to the creature. The heat will cause porous dilation, increasing the rate of absorption, and, if you make it strong enough, knock the creature out faster. Do whatever you need to, but make it happen"
"Well why didn't you tell me that in the first place?" He put his arm around Katie, "We'll just perform some miracles here, do the impossible... and while we are at it, we can make some Targs fly our of our rears." It was amazing what the marine kept concocting, even after Marco would insist it couldn't be done.
Martinez was left to watch the Doctors.
"Doctor," Marco said to Doctor Abernathy, "I suggest we get started making the vapor first... then we can worry about conditioning it for high heat."
They hadn't got halfway through when Wong was already having words with Martinez. When they turned to Marco, both wide-eyed and smiling, Marco knew they were up to no good. Upon hearing their idea he protested.
"Oh no, that damned cat already got me once! I have no intention of giving it a second chance." He held a hypospray up, as if it contained some deadly bio-agent. It only held a metabolic stimulant - if anything, injecting Wong or Martinez with it would boost their energy slightly, not stop them. They wouldn't know that though, and Marco had no intention of informing them of his ruse. He was NOT going to be bait.
"Why don't you go out there, Tiberian." For the first time, Marco used the marine's first name. "I'm sure you'll make a good target. Just stand out there, barking orders as usual..." Alice came to Marco
"you are out of line, sir..." she whispered.
"I don't care," he side-mouthed back, and continued talking to Wong, "then the stupid cat can hear you from all over, come down here, and Martinez here can blow its head off. You'd do it yourself if I didn't have a gun, I know," he held his hands up as if to surrender his thoughts, "so don't think I was questioning your 'abilities'."
Alice was pulling Marco by the arm, trying to get him to return.

It happened in a flash. Before the Ensign knew it, Doctor D'Angelo was tossing heated words at Tiberian, and the situation in the small room had gone from worried determination to harried argument in a flash. Sloan could tell these men had clashed before, and he could appreciate either men's stance: D'Angelo probably felt bullied, and Tiberian knew his place was in the firing position, not the other way around.
But how could Sam assume the Lieutenant Colonel's plan wasn't flawed. He was after all, simply an Ensign. This put him in a complex position: too inexperienced to identify good leadership amongst the pack, and yet too inexperienced to question superior orders based on personal opinion or snap decisions.
"D'Angelo, why don't you calm down." Sloan said finally. "Just get back to work on that sedative. If we don't drop this nonsense, we're all going to be fish in the barrel for this..thing."
Before D'Angelo could reply, Sloan addressed Tiberian Wong. "And as for the bait sir, the doctor is in no condition to participate in my phase of the plan. This field is only going to last for a short time. Whoever plays Jerry to this big angry Tom is going to need to leap out of the way pretty swiftly. So I'd like to respectfully volunteer for the job."
Sloan tapped his thigh jokingly, "Built like a grasshopper, I am. You should see it." Sam could tell both men were still a bit mad, but surely a third party intervention must have given them a little pause for thought. And more often than not, Sloan figured, pause for thought can prevent 9 out of 10 illogical altercations.
God. He was thinking like a Vulcan now. Cherish the day...
"Don't worry about me, sirs" Sloan said to both of the men, "it only makes sense. I'll configure the field frequency to allow a phaser shot to enter. It doesn't look like this thing carries weapons, so that shouldn't be a problem. Tiberian and Martinez can coordinate their fire, and we have this problem licked before tea."
Grudgingly, it seemed like the compromise suited both men. Sloan breathed a sigh of relief and finished the modification to the comm badge's field emitter. Now it was a matter of configuring the field parameters and patching in a cell from a spare tricorder. Well, that and standing over this contraption of his while two men aim phaser rifles at him. Meanwhile a 6 foot cat with claws like straight razors lurks, poised to tear him to party ribbons. All in the name of exploration.
"Oh Doctor," Sloan called.
"Yes Ensign?"
"You woudn't happen to have a hypospray for 'courage' would you?"

Aboard the Vesuvius, Commander Mark Harper just entered the bridge for a routine maintenance check when he felt the ship shudder in the tell-tale sign of the ship breaking up into multivector assault mode. "What the..." he started as he ran for the OPS console.
The night time first officer had remained aboard the ship while the rest of the crew enjoyed their much deserved shoreleave, or..would've enjoyed it were it not that the entire station was pretty much powerless. Naturally, he'd tried to raise his commanding officer and the rest of the senior staff, but something was blocking communications between the Vesuvius and Bellicose.
Recognising the command code that was given to get control over the Vesuvius, Mark sighed in relief when he discovered it came from the Olympia. The code he recognised as belonging to that ship's operations chief, Commander David Tan. And, seeing what he had in mind, Mark moved to help the commander as much as possible, understanding the gest behind the move. "Commander Tan, what do you have in mind as next move?" he queried, after establishing contact with the Olymia. "Do you need to send someone overhere to take command of one of the modules? I am on Minerva, but Mercury and Discordia are unstaffed."
Realising Tan might not understand what he was referring to, Mark Harper explained that the Vesuvius senior staff had chosen to name each separate module so that they always knew which module was being referred to. "It appears all modules are now connected," he continued, after Tan explained what his idea was. "We should be able to raise everyone now. Is Captain Smith around? Perhaps he'd like to try and raise the crews?"
~meanwhile~
"Sit," Sonak told Rose after a brief observation, motioning for An to help her sit down. "We will take a brief rest. The shuttlebay is in the next section, but we will have to hurry. Mr Ako will probably come after us again soon enough. Rose, did he say what he wanted from you?" She had listened to the marines and An explain that they had picked up the Trill close to where they had recovered Rose. "We need to start working on a way to capture him, then get to our ship's medical officers to cure them. Obviously, they are very ill."
She started when suddenly Mark Harper's voice came over her combadge. "Harper!" she called, relief audible in her voice, "where are you?"
"Aboard Minerva," Harper explained, "Captain Smith is safe aboard the Olympia. Both our ships are in MVA, surrounding the station. We have created a communications network, you should be able to raise the other crews now. We're having a little trouble with sensors at the moment but we're working on it. I am detecting Doctor D'Angelo a few decks below your location but nearly on the other side of the station."
"Thank you commander," Sonak answered, smiling happily. Larok merely frowned back at her in disapproval, though she'd caught the older Vulcan at smiling now and then as well. The Vulcan commodore tapped her combadge. "Reckus to Wong, D'Angelo, Fox and Byrne, respond!" she called. She was unaware of the fact that a new ensign had joined the Olympia crew, but had she known she'd have called his name to report as well.

David watched as the sections of both Star ships maneuvered into position. Each sixty degrees further round the circumference of the Space Station ..
Systems were already coming on-line, giving Tan a much more detailed look at Bellicose .. Suddenly, the Comms chirped. It was Commander Harper, Sonak's Gamma shift Officer ..
=^= Commander Tan .. What do you have in mind as the next move .. Do you need to send someone over here to take command of one of the modules .. I am on Minerva .. But Mercury and Discordia are unmanned =^=
Tan was a little puzzled at the names, but Harper brought him up to date on those .. Tan went on to explain his idea for a better look at the Station, and aiding the two crews ..
=^= It appears all modules are now connected .. We should be able to raise everyone now .. Is Captain Smith around .. Perhaps he'd like to try and raise the crews =^=
David looked at his Commanding Officer .. He looked less than well ..
=^= Commander Harper .. I think we can handle things at the moment .. Captain Smith is .... Busy .... I'll contact Commodore Sonak if you agree while you re-configure the sensors and try to get at least one of the transporters in working order =^= Tan said.
=^= Agreed Commander .. Minerva out =^=
The Comm with Harper closed, and Tan tapped his Comms badge once again ..
=^= Tan to Sonak =^=
She let the informality go .. In the circumstances, it hardly seemed an issue ..
=^= Go ahead .. Mr Tan =^=
=^= Commodore .. We have the sections in position .. I have spoken to Commander Harper .. He is looking into getting a transporter on-line .. In the meantime I have some information for you =^=
=^= Go ahead =^= Sonak said.
=^= I'm sending the information I have to all tricorders .. You are currently sealed within a twenty two deck area .. Bulkheads have sealed preventing movement above or below those decks .. You can or should now be able to track Snowfall and Ako .. There are seventy six personnel trapped between the upper and lower bulkheads =^=
=^= The information is coming to us now Commander .. Well done .. We are working on a form of tranquilizer to stop our people without killing them .. I will contact you shortly with a progress report =^=
=^= I'll try to lock onto the Alien signals while you work Commodore .. I would still like someone here to look at Captain Smith too =^=
=^= If Commander Harper can get a transporter lock I will send a Doctor to you Mr Tan .. Sonak out =^=
David was pleased that the Commodore saw fit to keep him updated. He looked at Steven, he was still edging between states sleep and wakefulness, but he was not looking good .. Tan was getting seriously worried about his friend and Captain ..........

After watching the command for the vessel separations within the docking area to strengthening the signal throughout the base. Maneuvering the shuttle back near the maintenance bay, something contacted the hull setting off the sensors.
"Commander Byrne to Vesuvius, I am halfway back to the entry point in the base and I just hit something. The shields are functioning, but something just locking into our secondary comm array and is broadcasting into the base. Harper, do you 'see' anything? Whatever it is, was big enough to stop our upward momentum. And personally, I think this has something to do with our little kitty problem. I am transmitting the coordinates now."
Re-routing the deflectors, Logan created a static shell surrounding the shuttle. "Hendrix, lock the transporters onto this thing and keep it close. I am attempting to contact the Commodore of our plan. Maybe if we can figure out how to shut the kitty down and reactivate the station."
Transmitting the same message to Fox, he had hoped that maybe between the three of them, they could possibly sort the origin of A. How this started, and B. Where did it come from.

"Sit," Sonak said"We will take a brief rest. Crystal gratefully slumped down. She started to conduct another mental inventory. Her comm badge had had it and her right hand was still a bit tingly from shorting it out. It was her face that worried her most. The whole left side was tender to the touch and was probably bruising up nicely. Despite the pain she found herself running a finger over the battered area with a degree of scientific interest. It wasn't as if she had ever been hit before.
The shuttlebay is in the next section, but we will have to hurry. Mr Ako will probably come after us again soon enough." Sonak continued "Rose, did he say what he wanted from you?"
"He said he wanted me to fix the transporters." Crystal replied. "He said he wanted to escape."
"We need to start working on a way to capture him, then get to our ship's medical officers to cure them. Obviously, they are very ill." 'Well that's somewhat of an understatement' Crystal thought.
"I agree letting either of them get off this station would definitely be a bad thing." It wasn't the most technical or insightful comment she had ever made but it was certainly true.
Crystal listened as the Commodore was updated by Commander Harper on her ship. It seemed that things were going rather better outside the station that they were inside it.
"Reckus to Wong, D'Angelo, Fox and Byrne, respond!" Sonak called. Crystal was as interested in the results of this communication as anyone she wanted to know whether the rest of her crew mates were all right.
A comm from Commander Tan came then, both the possessed killers had been identified and they now had the means to track them. Crystal had gathered another tricorder and immediately set to work, their immediate environs were empty of the killers, which was a relief. Crystal gathered up her things and made an effort to gather her thoughts as the group prepared to move off again.

Tiberian listened, visibly taken aback as D'Angelo laid into him. He saw similar shocked looks on all the faces of those others present, as the doctor pursued his tirade, irrespective of his nurse's attempts to intervene. Ensign Sloan stepped in, offering a friendly alternative to the situation, showing extreme tact in attempting to get between the two senior officers. In the end, Tiberian raised his hands, smiling.
"Well well doctor, it seems we've finally stepped out of shorts and into the big boy trousers" He smiled moving forwards and embracing the doctor. Whilst pressed close to him, so that only he could hear, he whispered. "I admire courage as much as the next man, but if you ever question me like that in front of our juniors again, I will end you, understand"
He broke off and turned to Sloan.
"I admire your courage ensign, but as the ranking marine officer here it is my responsibility to do the most incredibly stupid taks personally. I will be relying on you to make sure I live through it none the less. Now, can you instruct me on how exactly I use this containment field?"
<TAG Sloan>
Tiberian nodded as the ensign explained what he wanted him to do, but his words were cut short by a communication, quite an unexpected one given that the power was down.
"Reckus to Wong, D'Angelo, Fox and Byrne, respond!"
"Commodore Reckus this is Colonel Wong. What's happening, do you know more than we do?"
<TAG Sonak>
"We're trapped on a the same deck as the maintenance shuttle bay, roughly the other side of the station. We've lost people, but we're about to sort out our little rodent problem now. I'll put Dr D'Angelo on to explain our tactics, you might have some luck with it yourself"
<TAG D'Angelo/Reckus>
Having listened to a mixed battery of suggestions coupled with bouts of whining, Tiberian eventually interrupted the conversation, clipping D'Angelo soundly round the head.
"Sorry about that Commodore, the doctor is just finishing our sedative off. We'll meet up once you get down to this deck. Oh, and tell Crystal that she is under orders to stay safe. Evisceration will not be an excuse for not attending staff meetings. Wong out" He smiled as he signed off, hoping his crewmate was alright. He turned to the others.
"Well let's get this show on the road" He handed a rifle to D'Angelo and Martinez, allowing them to make the necessary adjustments, whilst taking the field generator from Sloan. Walking a little way away as the others took cover, he placed the device on the ground and drew a magnesium flare from his kit vest. As it ignited, the bright white light bathed the corridor, making him a visible target for anything remotely near.
"Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough" He chanted brazenly into the darkness, praying both that the creature took the bait, and that Martinez was as good a shot as he claimed to be.

After making sure Captain Smith was comfortable, David set to work ..
He had an idea that would greatly speed up the search for Ako and Snowfall .. But he wasn't one hundred percent sure it would work. After discussing his thoughts with Commander Harper, they were sure it could be done .. Harper asked him to put it to the Commodore, so he tapped his Comms badge ..
=^= Tan to Commodore Sonak =^=
=^= Sonak .. Report Mister Tan =^=
=^= Ma'am .. I've been in contact with Commander Harper .. With both ships in their current configuration .. We can use the Olympia to control certain aspects of the Space Stations systems .. Withing limits of course =^=
=^= Explain =^= Sonak said.
=^= I have taken control of the 'bases security and safety systems .. After scanning for our two Officers .. I have activated the emergency bulkheads and erected force-fields over all Jeffries tubes and access-ways between decks .. Ako and Snowfall are currently two decks above your position .. I have blocked access above their location and one the deck below you .. You have only three decks to pursue them now =^=
Three decks were definitely better than having to access twelve while they hunted the pair down, Sonak was pleased ..
=^= Are you certain Ako and Snowfall will have no possible transfer to any of the upper decks Commander ? =^=
=^= There's no way Ma'am .. Transporters are off-line and the bulkheads are under the direct control of the Olympia's computer .. Power is returning to all decks also now that I have released the original bulkheads above you =^=
=^= Very well .. Send constant updates on locations of our people showing the locations of the two we seek .. I will contact you when we are ready to depart our current location .. Sonak .. Out =^=
Tan re-scanned his readings, just to reassure himself that he could deliver what was promised .. Grinning slightly, he nodded, then transmitted the information to Commander Harper .. He too, could monitor the progress of his CO from the Vesuvius ..........

"Thank goodness you are alive, Commodore. You have no idea what I have been through." He looked back at Wong, who was listening to every word the Doctor reported back to his superior. Marco changed his tone a bit, but he had already damaged any integrity he had in the eyes of the others, so there was nothing to lose by continuing.
"Well, we've been on the run, instead of staying in sickbay taking care of everyone. I have no idea where we are now, nor does Alice. Everyone on the Olympia seem to be know-it-alls, and I've been dragged, half-gashed, through the entire base running away from a monster, just to receive orders from a different monster."
The lack of sleep on Marco's part, which had lasted for days, had finally caught up. He started crying, he was so angry.
"... and ... you have no idea how glad we are to talk to someone.." on the final repetitious phrase, Wong took over the conversation, and Marco returned to Alice, who was also sobbing in her joy.
Until now, it was expected by some that the small group could be the only ones left. Untrue now. In fact, it seemed quite the opposite. It seemed only a small few had been lost.
Marco held back. Sloan, the ensign that had both come to his aid, but also insulted him in the process, stood aside too. Everyone listened to the Colonel's conversation.

It had been a while since Snowfall had regained consciousness, though she couldn't remember how long exactly. She sat huddled in a corner in one of the rooms she had found earlier, nursing her wounds. The marine had really gotten her bad, though she couldn't quite remember what for.
Right now, she was experiencing one of her clear moments and she was afraid, no terrified, of what might happen next. She now realised that something was possessing her, allowing her a few clear moments to reflect on what she'd done. She couldn't, however remember why she had attacked Wong, the last she remembered was coming to him, pleading for help and the next was waking up in agony.
Then, the entity took possession of her again and took control over body and mind. She walked aimlessly, trapped between three decks until she heard soft, but mocking singing. Her sharp vision picked up a shape in the darkness, for the part of the station she was hiding was still dark. But she saw only one shape, she never picked up the additional person.
Slowly, she rose the rifle she had obtained from her latest kill and aimed it at the shape. She knew that the light from the phaser beam would betray her position, but the suppressed sane part of her mind secretly prayed for it. "I hear you Colonel Wong," she whispered, "and you are a lousy singer!" She pressed the trigger and saw the colonel's shape fly backwards, crying out in agony before slamming into the bulkhead behind him.
Then, Snowfall was struck by a phaser beam, but it wasn't just a beam, something was carried across it. She felt the beam, but her airways were burning with whatever vapour was being carried with the beam. She let out a piercing scream that would rattle everyone hearing it to the bone, before collapsing into oblivion.

Sonak watched Rose as she set to work again, a look of determination on her face. She certainly was a brave woman, but Sonak knew she would have to inform the commander's CO of her little adventure, and suggest counseling. They all would need counseling, but being abducted was something else entirely and she knew that from experience.
She listened as a communiqué from Byrne came in but it was static riddled as though he was trying to punch through some interference. "You will have to boost your signal commander," she urged her own first officer, "we cannot understand you properly. Where are you?"
Then, suddenly Wong answered her order to report. "Commodore Reckus this is Colonel Wong. What's happening, do you know more than we do?"
"It appears obvious that we do colonel," Sonak replied, more than a little annoyed at his attitude. "I have been in contact with Captain Smith and Commander Tan, they are safe aboard the Olympia. Myself, Commander Rose, Lieutenant Larok and Ensign An, however are currently near the shuttlebay. What is your location and status? Have you also been attacked by a Trill male?"
"We're trapped on a the same deck as the maintenance shuttle bay, roughly the other side of the station. We've lost people, but we're about to sort out our little rodent problem now. I'll put Dr D'Angelo on to explain our tactics, you might have some luck with it yourself"
"Yes we have lost a few marines on our end as well," Sonak replied, then listened with growing amazement and annoyance as her own chief medical officer reported on the situation. She was even more surprised, when she picked up on the strong emotion in his voice. She had known D'Angelo to be a passionate man, but certainly not this emotional. Suddenly, the doctor fell silent and Wong's voice came over the comm again.
"Sorry about that Commodore, the doctor is just finishing our sedative off. We'll meet up once you get down to this deck. Oh, and tell Crystal that she is under orders to stay safe. Evisceration will not be an excuse for not attending staff meetings. Wong out"
"Kindly do not maltreat my doctors, Colonel Wong," Sonak snapped, now understanding what had happened, "you might find yourself needing them, and you do not want any doctor to hold a grudge on you. That is myself included, just so you understand your current position." She paused, looking sideways at Rose. "Commander Rose does her best to stay safe, and I shall endeavour to keep her safe colonel. They did not make me a commanding officer just because of my appearance. I actually do have experience at being a command grade officer."
Sonak didn't like the colonel's current attitude at all, even though she understood the duress he was under. "We should try and capture our Trill friend," she suggested, "Rose, did you understand the doctor's explanation? I want you, An and Larok to get on it. An, Larok, modify our phasers to carry the potion. I will lure Mr Ako myself." She held up her hand to stall any protests. "I am not going to allow any of you to risk yourselves. I know this Trill, he would not consciously harm me. He has not harmed me before either, has he."
Unconsciously, she rubbed her still smarting shoulder, where Larok's beam had clipped her. "Mr Larok, do please keep your phaser pointed at Ako, and not at me in the future," she reminded him, with a small smile.

Tan, along with Mark Harper, monitored the progress of the Star fleet personnel ..
=^= Commander .. I'm showing phaser-fire =^= Harper reported suddenly.
=^= Yes .. I can see it too .. I need to contact the base .. Keep checking on our people =^= David said, breaking the Comm .. Then, tapping his Comms badge he spoke ..
=^= Tan to Commodore Sonak =^=
=^= Yes Mister Tan =^=
=^= Commodore .. We have monitored phaser-fire above your position .. We can't be sure but one of the infected have been hit and possibly sedated .. But it looks like she fired upon and hit Colonel Wong beforehand .. His life-signs are not good =^=
=^= Contact that group and confirm your readings Commander =^=
=^= We have tried Ma'am .. From here and the Vesuvius .. There's too much interference =^=
=^= Very well .. We will begin moving toward the other party within the next fifteen minutes =^=
David had been watching his readouts while they were talking .. He didn't have good news ..
=^= That may be too late Commodore .. My scanners show that you are being approached .. Distance .. One hundred and fourteen meters closing .. Direction .. Two one three degrees =^=
Sonak automatically turned in the exact direction she had been given. Then looked at her team.
"Rose .. You understood the instructions." she began, "I want you .. An and Larok to get on it .. An, Larok modify our phasers to carry the potion .. I will lure Mr Ako myself." She held up her hand to stall any protests. "I am not going to allow any of you to risk yourselves .. I know this Trill .. He would not consciously harm me .. He has not harmed me before has he"
=^= Thank you Commander Tan .. We are working as quickly as possible on a 'solution' to our problem .. Please keep monitoring and update all tricorders =^=
Tan sent the updates, then set the console to update the tricorders in real-time .. He was helpless to do anything more than hope the Commodore could be ready in time ..........

"Oh, and tell Crystal that she is under orders to stay safe. Evisceration will not be an excuse for not attending staff meetings. Wong out"
Crystal was dredging knowledge of biochemistry from her mind as she sorted through Marco's instructions. She smirked to herself as Tiberian spoke, that was the FO all over. She was glad that he too was more or less all right. Although she continued to smiled as the Vulcan continued the conversation.
=^= That may be too late Commodore .. My scanners show that you are being approached .. Distance .. One hundred and fourteen meters closing .. Direction .. Two one three degrees =^= Crystal froze for a second as she heard Commander Tan's words, that did not bode well...
"We should try and capture our Trill friend," Sonak suggested, "Rose, did you understand the doctor's explanation?
Crystal nodded as the Commodore continued.
"I want you, An and Larok to get on it. An, Larok, modify our phasers to carry the potion. I will lure Mr Ako myself." She held up her hand to stall any protests. "I am not going to allow any of you to risk yourselves. I know this Trill, he would not consciously harm me. He has not harmed me before either, has he."
Crystal swallowed as Sonak spoke, what she said did make sense but she wasn't the only option to be lure "Commodore, I volunteer to lure Mr Ako out." Crystal wasn't quite sure where the courage to make this suggestion came from. In honesty she didn't want to see the Trill again, ever. She carried on talking before her nerve failed her completely. "He wanted me to fix the transporters so he's more likely to come after me and if he wants me to help him he's less likely to hurt me." As she spoke she knew there was an irony in her words given the bruising on the side of her face but that hadn't been an attempt at killing her.
The Commodore was silent for a second or two. She gave Crystal an impenetrable Vulcan stare and then shook her head. "No Commander. I'm going."
Crystal swallowed again, for a second she felt as if she should make another protest but her head whirled again and she thought better of it, setting to work finishing off the sedative.

Watching the shields fail, Byrne engaged the tractor beam causing a massive power overload in the probe. Pounding on the comm-panel with his fist, all he wanted to do was clear up the signal with the base.
Following the comm-chatter from the Vesuvius, Logan was able to maneuver the shuttle closer to the ship so that he could use the main deflector dish to create a harmonic to disrupt the signal coming from the probe. As the ship's dish fired it's beam, there a temporary gap in the signal strength from the probe.
Just at that moment, it seemed as if the alien entity had lost it's grip on Snowfall.
Right now, she was experiencing one of her clear moments and she was afraid, no terrified, of what might happen next. She now realized that something was possessing her, allowing her a few clear moments to reflect on what she'd done. Her sharp vision picked up a shape in the darkness, for the part of the station she was hiding was still dark. But she saw only one shape, she never picked up the additional person.
It seemed to be working, but in one moment, the probe broke free of the jamming field and sent the little shuttle spinning towards the station. Righting himself, Logan aimed the shuttle back towards the hole in the base. Tapping the comm-panel, he attempted to raise the Commodore to apprise her of the situation. It was then that he caught wind of the attack on Colonel Wong. Going EVA, Byrne uprighted a large metal panel that could be welded in to place so that Hendrix could re-pressurize the maintenance bay.
"Commander Byrne to Commodore Sonak, we have reentered the base and re-pressurized the room. Integrity is back up. Hendrix and I are heading up to meet with An. The shuttle bay seems like the best place to mount a stand. If not, we could always space the intruder. Byrne out."
Heading for the access ladder, they proceeded back into the Main Shuttle bay. Using his bag of tricks, Logan was able to re-energize a few portable shield generators to create a possible trap for the intruder.

"Reckus to Wong, D'Angelo, Fox and Byrne, respond!"
Fox was glad to hear her voice over the comm and tapped his badge. "Its good to hear your voice Ma'am. I'm currently in the maintenance bay control room, trapped." Fox looked through the window. "The bay itself is depressurized." Right after that other voices were hearable.
Fox got up from the chair he had sat in and walked to a panel. It looked like some of the internal sensors were working again. He could detect lifesigns a few corridors from the bay.
Suddenly Fox heard a sound from in the bay and saw the shuttle Byrne and Hendrix left with flying in. A few moments later he saw the bay had been repressurized and walked to the door. He went to Byrne and Hendrix. "Am i glad to see you two again. I take everything went well?" Byrne nodded in response.
Byrne quickly explained the little plan he had come up with and they headed off for the main shuttle bay. "Why do you think it will come there?" Fox asked Byrne. "Because we are there." he answered "If its really hunting for us it will come."

Sonak "Larok, modify our phasers to carry the potion. I will lure Mr Ako myself." She held up her hand to stall any protests. "I am not going to allow any of you to risk yourselves. I know this Trill, he would not consciously harm me. He has not harmed me before either, has he."
Larok: That is a mater of semantics as holding a scalpel to someones neck does not seem like an endearing trait to me. Logically speaking the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few; but... *Larok turned to his remaining squad * ... You heard the Commodore ; Corporal Blogg make the modifications to the weapons, Marcus find a good position for a sniper shot . Lets get an ambush set up. This has gone on long enough let us get this Trill the help he needs.
Gunny Jones: Lt a word * Larok and Jones moved a little way off to let the NCO have his say.* Sir this is tactically unsound, we have lost enough people we should end this now.
Larok: I understand your need to end this operation, but the Commodore has given us our orders and has made a logical case for the tactics she wishes followed; now it is up to us to make sure that this ends the way she wishes.
Jones: Aye Aye sir, Simper Fi.
Larok: Hu Rah.
*Larok and Jones moved over to where the Marines were working on their weapons.
Blogg: Lt I have modified all weapons but yours;
Larok: No Corporal I will have mine set on kill just in case. Listen up when the Commodore leads the Trill into the ambush Marcus you will shoot the Trill the instant you get a clear shot. After he fires if the Trill still does not go down the rest of the squad will fire. If this plan does not work I will terminate the situation and take the responsibility for it. OK lets get to it.
* Larok moved back to the Commodores side*
Larok: Commodore we are ready.

As the marines busily adapted their phasers with the new chemical attachment, An approached Commodore Reckus. Amidst the “hurrahs” and “Simper Fis,” he leaned into her ear and whispered. “Commodore, we don’t know if the chemical concoction will work for sure on the Trill,” An began, “even if it does work on him, someone may accidentally shoot you.”
The ensign made his phaser to order as he spoke, “I’m against the idea of using our Commodore as bait, ma’am. We don’t understand the Trill’s state of mind, nor do we know whether you’re really a safe bet. There is a good chance the Trill knows that there is a plan set up to catch him and will be ready for us. Is it possible that we can use the transporter to get a lock on him instead of jeopardizing another member of our crews?”

'Frustrating' didn't come into it as Tan tried to keep a lock on Commodore Sonak and her team ..
The Star base was, by necessity well shielded against such things as scans and unauthorized transporter use .. Tan and Captain Smith restoring power to the section of the station both crew were in had a double-edged effect. Because as power began to be re-routed by the station herself, Corridors, turbo-lifts, and some rooms, became inaccessible by the sensors on both Olympia and Vesuvius ..
=^= Commodore .. You need to prepare quickly .. There is less than fifty meters between you and the entity and that distance is closing =^=
=^= We are almost rea .......... corders loosing information .. We have no way of upda ......... Can you boost the signa .......... sate for the loss ? =^=
David was struggling to understand what was being said ..
=^= I'm sorry Commodore .. Your message is breaking up .. Commander Harper has had word from Colonel Wong's team .. They have secured the entity and are tending to the Colonel's injuries =^=
=^= Can you erect force-fields that will preven .......... or bulkheads .. We have no access =^=
Tan was sure Sonak was asking him to reduce the area the alien could maneuver, so he sealed off the decks above and below the Commodore .. They were now cut off completely from the rest of the base .. With no chance of getting any help .. Unfortunately for her and the personnel with her, they were also confined to the same deck as Ako, and there was less than fifty meters between them .. Tan couldn't understand why they couldn't see each other ..
=^= Commodore .. There is nowhere for Ako to go .. You will need to deal with the situation now =^=
Tan knew he was getting frustrated with the situation, and hoped Sonak would see this as reason for his insistent tone ..
=^= Commodore ...... =^=
=^= Commodore ...... =^= he said again .. But there was no reply ..
Sonak was on her own ..........

"Commander Tan!" Sonak called in response, but there was no answer. Communications had blacked out now that the station's shields were powering up again and interfering with the network both ships had established. To the Vulcan, it almost seemed as two signals were drowning eachother out but right now there was no way to be certain. Inter-station communications were still down and they were on their own.
Fifty meters, Tan had reported, and closing. Peering into the still dark corridor, Sonak tried to see if anyone was in there, but she was practically blind in the darkness and couldn't make any shapes out. She was, as usual, unarmed but she was confident that Rose's potion would work and that both she as well as her marine and security officer would have her covered.
Slowly, she edged into the corridor, aware of the disapproving looks of both Larok and An. She was starting to think that perhaps Rose should've gone in, but she wouldn't risk an officer that wasn't part of her own crew, nor would she willingly risk anyone on her own crew. She was the commanding officer, and as such responsible for everyone, and she was the one who must take the risk.
~Fifty meters and closing~ she thought again, realising that it wasn't all that far and she should, by definition, be able to see the Trill closing in on her. "Darian Ako!" she called, hearing her own voice come back in an echo, "I know you are here and I also know that you are ill. Come out so that I can help you, I am a doctor."
There was no response and she edged onward, peering down at her tricorder. It didn't show Ako's presence, but she knew he was there. Then, she was slammed aside, the Trill holding a weapon to her as she tried to climb back to her feet. "I mean you no harm," she assured the deranged Trill, showing him her empty hands. "I only mean to help you and your symbiont. You do not want to end up like Sianna do you? She is still referred to as a nutcase and dangerous. You do not want to be remembered like that do you?"
She watched the Trill's indecision, watched him battle with whatever was infecting him. ~now~ she thought impatiently, peering past the young Trill, hoping to catch sight of her team. ~what is keeping them~ she wondered, as the Trill advanced on her.
(ako, everyone)

Crystal had completed the knock-out formula. At least that was what she was hoping she had made. Given the ache in her head and her lack of sleep it was possible that she had done something wrong. Larok and one of his marines had been leaning over her shoulders during the production and they hadn't been there just for her protection.
Crystal swallowed hard and thought back over what she had done, she was nearly certain that she had done things correctly. She was now leaning against a wall at the back of the party monitoring things as the Commodore advanced in the direction the possessed Trill was in. She wished that Sonak had let her be the bait then if she had made a mistake on the knock-out formula then it would her life on the line and not someone else's.
Crystal looked at her tricorder screen and then scanned the corridor. She blinked a couple of times noting that the vision in her left eye was a bit blurry. A coupkle more blinks and the blurriness passed. She could hear the Commodore calling to Ako. Crystal swallowed yet again, she was nervous now and hated the waiting. She hoped something happened soon.

“Where does she think she’s going?” An asked himself. “She’s not luring him in here; Ako is luring her out there,” the ensign realized as he watched in unbelief, “with phasers aimed, hoping for a clear shot, the Commodore walks into the corridor.”
Sonak Reckus walked slowly through the doorway as she talked to Ako. An took low and careful breaths as he came up behind Sonak, not wanting to startle her nor Ako. As Sonak stepped, An stepped, rolling the bottom of his foot to the ground while walking on the outer edge of his foot. Finally, he sidestepped and squatted against the wall out of Sonak’s line of sight as she entered the corridor.
An heard her being slammed aside by Ako. If it was not for Sonak’s immediate plea, “I mean you no harm,” An would have pivoted out the door and shot Ako. He expected that his Commodore would show Ako mercy and try to help him, the fruit of a good doctor.
The ensign rechecked his phaser setting and watched Larok’s team find the appropriate sniping angles. “Nevertheless for Thy great mercies’ sake Thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for Thou art a gracious and merciful God,” An prayed silently, “Look upon the Commodore, be merciful unto her, and show her favor, as is Your way to those who love Your name.”

Martinez lowered the modified assault weapon from his sights, torn on whether to walk over to the ball of white lying on the floor motionless, or to tend to Colonel Wong.
"He'll be ok," Marco said, his face still red from the transmission with the Vesuvius crew, but the tears had fled in the commotion. He was back to work again.
The Colonel was breathing, having received the blunt of the blast on the tip of his right shoulder. It was still enough force to throw him backward, and knock him out. He was slowly coming to.
"Looks like the Colonel ended up being the bait," Martinez commented. It was due to the aiming device on the cat's weapon that the marine was able to lock on and hit it.
Alice and Katie worked together, fixing the irregular heart beat caused by the electrical shock of a phaser hit. A few jolts, and winces of pain on the marine's part, and his heart skipped a beat back to a regular rhythm.
"Looks like my little concoction worked on that stupid fluff ball after all." Marco was rather proud. He wasn't worried about the Colonel's health anymore, more about posturing for dominance. It was a subconscious posturing of course. Externally, Doctor D'Angelo told himself he didn't have to prove himself to anyone. He was his own person.
=/\= Doctor D'Angelo to Commodore Reckus... Wong is down... we killed the attacker, how should we proceed=/\=
Of course, he wasn't quite out of it. He was hoping that he could get a Commodore's orders to take over the group, circumventing the Tiberian factor.

"This is impossible !" Tan said aloud .. 'Talking to myself has become some sort of 'hobby' during this mission' he thought sarcastically ..
He had tried everything possible to re-establish contact with the Commodore. But apart from a partial, garbled message:
=^= ...... gelo to Commodore Reckus... Wong ...... wn... We killed the attacker .. How shoul ...... =^=
He was completely cut off from activities on the station ..
"Computer .. How much of Bellicose has power now ?"
"The Star base has currently eighty six percent power .. Full power will be restored in seventy two minutes." the ship replied ..
David opened a Comm to the Vesuvius and informed Commander Harper that he was re-joining the Olympia, suggesting he follow suit ..
He sat quietly as the three sections came together, then established a geostationary position, ten thousand meters from the massive Star base ..
"Computer .. Site to site transport .. Beam Captain Smith to Sick-bay .. Activate EMH."
Steven vanished from the floor in front of the view-screen ..
=^= EMH to Bridge .. Please state the natu ...... =^=
=^= Please treat Captain Smith Doctor .. Bridge out =^=
Tan watched the view-screen, and the Space station ahead, as it began to light up, having almost re-established full power .. He tried, but again failed, to contact the Commodore ..........

He screamed and smashed around the inside of the jeffries tube as they had taken the woman away from him. He had no hope of getting off the station now. All was lost. All, but sweet, sweet vengeance on those who had repeatedly thwarted him. He would kill them all, dying in the process if necessary, but he would have his revenge.
He set off, moving at what could only be described as a crawling sprint as he shouldred his way back through the tubing to the position of the Vesuvius crew. They were all there, communicating with others who had been found. Communications were restored, and power was gradually being re-introduced, so he would not have the advantage for long. It was all lost now, but the end would come for them. He saw many officers depart from the Vulcan female's side, leaving her virtually alone and prey to his nefarious machinations. He waited, and waited, and waited, and pounced.
He leapt down from above, knocking her to one side as he drew his laser scalpel. He remembered his host's medical knowledge, and knew exactly how he was going to inflict this damage. He heard the woman call to him.
"I mean you no harm," she assured the deranged Trill, showing him her empty hands. "I only mean to help you and your symbiont. You do not want to end up like Sianna do you? She is still referred to as a nutcase and dangerous. You do not want to be remembered like that do you?"
He thought on the woman's words, and thoughts of his host flooded his conscious mind, fighting the repression he was subjugating them to. He fought back, but saw images of happiness and sadness, the female flitting in and out. He clawed at his skull and screamed in anguish as he fought to beat down the re-awakening mind of the body he had infiltrated. Finally he won.
"I may not be able to win here today" he rasped "But neither will you!"
He snarled and leapt at her, his breath hot, his eyes a deep blood crimson as the laser scalpel came within centimeters of her throat.
Then it all went blank.

Tiberian came to, groggy and disoriented. Why did veryone in the quadrant seem to have it in for him? He had actually lost count of the number of time he had been shot by this point, and wasn't in the mood to start counting again. All he knw was that his hsoulder was hurting, he had a headache, and he was staring up between D'Angelo's legs as he stood over him, talking to the Commodore over the comm link. He shut his eyes, but not to block out the pain of the headache. He found Katie stroking his head, and his dry lips moved.
"Move in with me" He said, registering the shocked look on her face.
"What?" She asked, obviously perplexed.
"I said, move in with me. You know, your clothes in my drawers, you and me in bed on a regular basis for purely sleeping purposes, the convenience of being able to wake up and have breakfast together without traversing half the ship. That sort of stuff"
"I don't know aht to say" Katie answered, half smiling, but obviously taken aback.
"Yes would be a good idea" Tiberian answered weakly, his attention suddenly being caught by something D'Angelo had just said. He reached over and fumbled around with his fingers on the Sivoan's neck, getting far closer to her jaws than he would have wanted to five minutes ago. He tapped his own commbadge.
=/\=Scratch that last message Commodore, Snowfall isn't dead, just heavily sedated. Are you and your people alright ma'am?=/\=
<TAG Sonak>
He tapped his commbadge again.
=/\=Wong to Commander Tan. Commander, once you've got a minute, and enough power, would you mind locking on to my biosign and those around me and beaming us to the station security facility. I have a prisoner that I would like to put behind bars before it regains consciousness. Whenever you've got time commander, Wong out=/\=
<TAG Commander Tan>
He rolled over and pushed himself to his feet, looking Martinez square in the eye.
"You let him shoot me" He stated bluntly.
"I shot him back" Martinez protested, struggling to keep a straight face. Tiberian shot him a dark/comical stare and turned to the others.
"Enisgn Sloan, if you would care to come up with some sort of restraining device. I don't trust the brig alone to hold our lady friend here once she comes to"
<TAG Sloan>
"And you my dear doctor, can analyse these sensor readings now that we have the creature at our proverbial mercy. I'd like to know how to cure her or whatever the devil is affecting her"
<TAG D'Angelo>
