Grace used Cyle's interruption to quickly process the information that Admiral Drew and Dr Mercy has given.
Cyle came and sat next to Grace, she smiled at him and whispered "Hi! Good to see you. We'll have to catch up later." Cyle nodded.
Grace turned back and addressed the room "Star Fleet sent me here to see if I could use my telepathic ability to contact Admiral Lin's symbiot. I have had experience in that respect with another Trill symbiot."
Zhuk looked at Grace with a knowing smile as did Cyle. Both men knew exactly whom she had been speaking about as the three of them had served together with the other Trill.
Grace could feel relief from Cyle that she was on the Jefferson, the two had always gotten along quite well. Grace was looking forward to getting caught up on each other's adventures,
Right now they ahd a briefing to get through, then a search through the galaxy to find Admiral Lin. "I have tried a few preliminary telepathic searches but have not been able to locate the Lin symbiot, yet. It is my hope that when we get closer I may be able to contact Lin or even Magellan. If he is fighting the other hosts for supremacy he may accept contact from me. I just wouldn't want the other hosts to know what I am tryng to do. This could get tricky for the Admiral."
Admiral Drew looked at Grace and said "I am confident in your abilities, Commander. You came highly reccommended from ther other Trill you mentioned. He said if anyone could contact a symbiot it would be you."
"Thank you Admiral." Grace replied with a knowing smile. The words spoken so characteristically like the Trill, the Admiral spoke of. Inside Grace couldn't help but smile.

βCommand of this ship, and this mission is yours Colonel, consider me to be nothing more than an advisor, if and when you need it.β
Zhukarak became quite relieved as he heard those words. The knowledge that Admiral Drew was more of a personal friend of Admiral Lin was well received, for if the medical reports were to be believed, Zhuk could use all the help he could get about the possible locations of the missing Admiral.
βThank you, sir. Iβm sure your personal insight to Admiral Lin will be of great help. A briefing has been scheduled as soon as you and I arrive. Shall we?β Admiral Drew indicated for Zhuk to lead the way with his outstretched hand pointing to the doorway.
As they made their way through the bulkheads, Zhuk could feel the ship move out from its berthing clamps. He hadnβt given any orders for them to get underway as he didnβt quite know yet where to start looking for Admiral Lin. He had a sneaking suspicion that Commander Reynolds took the initiative to get them out of the starbase docks while there was a lull in the local shipping traffic. At times it could take up to an hour for a starship to get permission to launch based on that traffic.
Just outside of the conference room a Trill appeared from around the corner. Admiral Drew took this opportunity to introduce her to Zhuk and vice-versa. βWelcome aboard Guardian. Please, after you.β Zhukarak indicated that she should enter first.
As Zhuk entered, he noticed that neither of his doctors had arrived yet. He did, however, notice a very familiar face, Grace Mitchell. So the message he had read earlier on his terminal was indeed true. Zhukarak suspended with formalities as Grace advanced with a huge smile upon her face. He simply gave her a great hug when she got near. It was uncharacteristic of him, but he was more than just glad to see her. She was one of only two people that he could really consider a friend, and not just a colleague.
βI am glad to see you join us for this mission. Weβll talk more later on. I need to get this meeting started as soon as everyone else arrives.β
βIβm very happy too that Iβm back. I feel I can get back on my feet, so to speak, but weβll talk more of that later.β
She turned and took a seat.
Zhuk knew that doctors would be here soon. He took this opportunity to take a look out of the window where he was able to witness them clearing the spacedock doors. He could hear new voices speaking in medical jargon behind him, giving him proof that the doctors had finally arrived. He then turned to start his briefing.
The briefing was momentarily interrupted by another familiar face.
"Sir, Major Cyle Johnson reporting for duty"
βMajor Johnson. It is pleasure to see you again. It is a pleasure to have you as part of my crew here on the Jefferson. Welcome aboard.β
Major Johnson gave a quick and courteous salute which Zhukarak returned. βThe pleasure is all mine, sir.β They shook hands after which he too took a seat.
Everyone then listened to what Grace had to say.

Stuart listened very intently when everyone else spoke about the mission and gave some of their input as to what they thought. Part of what Admiral Drew had said about one of the hosts intrigued him the most.
"Admiral, you mentioned that Admiral Lin was quite dangerous especially if controlled by Loran, if I'm not mistaken."
"That is correct. Why?"
Stuart turned his attention to Laurana. "Laurana, you know the history of these hosts the best. Is it feasible to assume that Loran could be the most dominant one?"
He watched Laurana think about the question for a moment before she answered. "It is quite possible. She would be the most aggressive of all the hosts."
Stuart turned his attention back to the Admiral and Colonel. "Then that is our best chance of locating Admiral Lin. Provided someone here knows the past dealings of this Loran, or find someone who does."
Stuart waited to hear what everyone else thought of this idea.

"I think Doctor Mercy is correct. Our best chance of locating the Admiral is to know more about the previous hosts of the symbiot, most importantly the one called 'Loran'." Grace commented.
Then Grace turned in the direction of Guardian Regarn, "Guardian Regarn, perhpas you could provide us with all know information on the Lin symbiot's hosts. TOgether we could look it over and try and determin a course of action. I also might be able to usae my telepathy on using each hosts name rather then the admiral's. I haven't had any success using the symbiot's name.

Laurana nodded in agreement,
"I ll do what I can. Such records are sealed in the symbiosis commission but given Magellan helped rescue the commission earlier this year I expect them to acceed to my enquires. As for contact Lin telepathically that may be difficult. The Lin symbiont has always been a free spirit, maintainng a greater degree of self identity than is usual for a joining and especially so between Magellan and him. Its understandable 2 of his hosts died quite horribly, it is highly likely Lin sees that by keeping himself seperate he can avoid future pain when the next host dies."
"That is understandable" Grace agreed, "Any death can be hard to comes to term with"
"As for Loran until I get access to the records I can tell you all that I know. Loran was in the Trill Defense Force, fairly good for all accounts. Then towards middle age she began to become to be suspected of corruption and links to some pretty interesting people but before anything solid was uncovered she was killed whilst on an officer exchange programme"
"Officer Exchange. Where?" Zhukarak asked,
"Rutia. She was working with the police there when an Ansata Terrorist blew himself up in the coffee shop they were in. Loran was killed instantly luckily Toya was in the same system analysing Proto-ecologys on Rutia I otherwise the Lin symbiont would have died also. Toya was joined to Lin immediatly."

Nathan had been surprised to be invited to the senior staff meeting as usually assistant departmentheads didn't attend such meetings. As there was a shortage of seats now at the meeting, with all guests present, Nathan took up a position near the back of the room and leaned against the wall.
He listened intently as questions were passed back and forth. "How did Admiral Lin get access to so much Isoboramine?" he finally piped up, "wouldn't there be limits as to what medication a person can replicate? And with the quantities Admiral Lin had been requiring, wouldn't there have been an alarm to indicate someone took close to an overdose?"
Nathan knew his question wasn't going to make him any friends, but he was curious to hear how exactly Lin had been able to overdose himself without anyone being warned. "In addition," he added after a slight pause, "how is it possible he escaped from sickbay? Weren't there guards present who would stun him the moment he would bolt?"

Grace had been pondering all the the Guardian had said when she heard Dr van Breughel speak up. "I have to admit I am curious about that myself. As a psychologist, I would never reccommend that much Isoboramine be available to any patient even if he is an Admiral."
As Grace listened to the explaination, her mind was working on concentrating on locating the Lin symbiot. Having found out that the symbiot likes to keep slightly unattached to his host, Grace decided to try harder to contact the symbiot.
Although, if this Loran host is in control, then she maybe able to keep the Lin symbiot buried in the pshcye of the current host. "Hmm...' Grace thought "an interesting idea. I think will have to look at the concept closer."

Stuart heard the questions and knew that they were indirectly...directed at him, if that made any sense.
"No, no, no! You all misunderstand. He never actually overdosed himself. First off, yes he is an Admiral. Second, he is allowed to medicate himself as needed and required, at which point he has to pass a quick medical scan near the replicator before receiving any meds. Back to the misconception of the overdose, his isoboramine levels are decreasing at an alarming rate requiring him to remedicate more often just to MAINTAIN the proper levels. As long he is not overmedicating and the scans show that he is low, he is allowed access to more as per Federation Medical Protocols."
Everyone gave a look of understanding, especially the ones with higher levels of any medical training.

"I leave the medical aspect of this mission in the hands of you doctors. Admiral Drew, Guardian Regarn, I will require your personal knowledge of Magellan, Lin, and previous hosts to help us track him. Major Johnson, Captain Potter, you two will be heading up any investigations and search parties when we go planet side."
Zhuk then faced Chris. "Mr. Pemberton, get us to Rutia I immediately, Warp 7. It's as good a place to start as any. This briefing is adjourned."
As everyone got up and started to disappear to their respective stations, the Trill Guardian slowly approached Zhuk. Zhuk had noted that she had been unsure of him since she first set eyes upon him. he wasn't sure if it had been something he inadvertently did, or perhaps she had never seen an Andorian.
"Colonel Hrisvalar, I wanted to add that we may require subtle ways of subduing Lin. Stunning him with a phaser will undoubtedly cause more harm to his system."
Just as she had finished her sentence, Zhuk halted Jeff from leaving. "Commander Pudlo, it seemes we have a project for you."
Jeff came over and Guardian Regarn repeated her previous comment, after which Zhuk gave Jeff the assignment of coming up with either a modified phaser or something entirely different, whatever it took to not harm Admiral Lin.

Grace caught up with Dr. Mercy "Doctor, I apologize if it seemed like we were questioning you. My questions were more myself wondering out loud if perhaps maybe the symbiot Lin's previous host's were controling at the time of medication and abusing the amount."
<Stuart>
"Perfectly understandable, Doctor. I look forward to working with again, but of course you probably don't remember me from the joint mission sometime back. I was stationed on different ship at the time." Grace replied.
<Stuart>
"Yes, that would be good idea." Grace looked and noticed Zhuk leaving the briefing room "I must excuse myself at the moment. I would like to have a private moment with the Colonal."
<Stuart>
"It was pleasure seeing you again, Doctor. I'm sure we'll see a lot of each other in the days to come. Good day to you, Doctor!"
Grace walked away, hoping she hadn't upset the Dr. Mercy too much with her chatter. Grace started to walk in the direction that Zhuk had taken hoping to find him shortly and catch up just a bit.

With the conclusion of the briefing, Drew followed the rest of the Jeffersonβs senior staff out of the conference room. He had been pleased with the response of the officerβs to their mission, all of them clearly were taking the matter very seriously, and all had a determination about them to find Magellan. It gave Drew new hope that they may be able to find his friend before it was too late.
As the others hurried to their stations, preparing to ready the Jefferson for launch, Drew was left alone in the corner of the bridge. As this was his first time aboard a Sovereign Class, it was also the first time he had ever been aboard the bridge of one. He had of course seen them in photos, and in the background of viewscreen conversations, but none of that had prepared him for just how big the bridge was. Over the last year, he had gotten used to the small compact design of the Hansonβs bridge, with all her stations fairly close to each other, but here on the Jefferson, everything was much more spread out, and there were a lot more stations.
His eyes fall to the command level, on this bridge design there were three separate command chairs, the ones on the left and right, designated for the First and Second Officers both had adjustable consoles. The larger chair in the middle, the chair as far as Drew was concerned, had a series of control panels along its arms, with raised controls at the end of each. It all looked very sleek, and highly advanced, but Drew reminded himself, a ship was just a ship, it was those aboard it who mattered, and what they did with it.
βAll hands, report status,β Matt Reynolds said from the First Officerβs chair, he had his own console set up in front of him, and was keying in a series of commands.
One by one, various reports starting arriving on the bridge, from what Drew could gather, they were almost ready to depart; now all they needed was the final word.
Drew did his best to fight down the impatience that was growing within him, over the last few days; he had done enough sitting around. Now everything was ready, he wanted to get out there and find Magellan.
If he had been back on the Hanson, he would have retreated to his ready room at this point, or busied himself by pretending to read some reports, but here he had none of that. All he could do was just stand on the bridge, and wait. He noticed than that his hands had formed fists, silently reprimanding himself, he decided it was probably better if he put his hands behind his back, at least then he could fiddle with his thumb without anyone else noticing.
Finally Colonel Hrisvalar arrived on the bridge, nodding to Matt, the Colonel took his place in the centre of the bridge, and after reviewing some data given to him by Matt, he looked forward to the helm.
βTake us out Mister Pemberton,β Hrisvalar ordered, confidently leaning back in his chair, βwarp seven.β
Drew remained silent at the back of the bridge, and watched as the stars seemed to blur together as the ship entered warp speeds. As they did so, he said a silent prayer.

Drew noticed someone was standing beside him. Grace had come up behind him, very quietly she said "Quite an impressive sight isn't it Admiral!"
"Yes. This is my first time on a Sovereign Class ship. It is quite roomy." was Drew's reply.
"Yes it may seem that way now, but I can say sometimes it is smaller than it appears. Admiral, I'm sure the Colonal won't mind if you use the chair reserved for the Counselor."
"Isn't that your chair, Commander?"
"Please Admiral, call me Grace, and no I am not an official member of the crew, yet so that chair is vacant."
As Grace was speaking, Drew thought he heard a little longing in Grace's voice. Like she really wanted to be part of the crew again. "Grace, do you know the Colonal that well or are you reading his mind?" Drew asked with a slight smile.
Not only is Grace a telepath but she also has empathic ability as well and she could tell that the Admiral was joking slightly "Admiral, I've know the Colonal since before he was a Colonal and a Captain. We've enjoyed many a mission together, not to mention a few athletic endeavors on the holodeck. Ask him how he likes hockey!" Grace said with the familiar twinkle in her eye. "Now, if you will excuse me, Sir. I am needed elsewhere."
As Grace was saying that, she was feelinga tickling of her mind, someone or something was trying to contact her.

Daran left the conference room in the company of Nathan and Stuart and walked towards the turbolift. There didn't seem to be much to pursue from a medical standpoint. Dr. Mercy and Laurana had probably run down what leads they could. There didn't seem to be many, anyways.
The three of them stopped in front of the turbolift, and Daran looked at the two of them. "Well, I guess that I'm going to go down and get Sickbay prepared for possible casualties and the care of Admiral Lin, when we track him down. Once I'm done that, I'll review those files that you sent me regarding Magellan. Nathan, you can join me if you like or pursue other business. I think that I might also look into medical database information from Rutia regarding the care of the Lin symbiont when Toya it was transferred. Perhaps there is some information there that we could use."
Daran turned and stepped into the lift.

βOf course Grace,β Drew replied, βplease donβt let me keep you.β
As the Counsellor walked away, Drew tried to think why she seemed so familiar to him, to his knowledge it was only Matt Reynolds he had encountered before. Then he remembered! Grace had been a junior officer on the Nevada back when Martok had been the Captain; he had met her during a mission that the Nevada and his old ship the Fang had both been involved in. For the moment, the details of the mission escaped him, but he remembered that Martok and his XO TβShael had both spoken highly of the new Counsellor that had been assigned to them. He knew also that Harrias Jira had also thought highly of her when she had served as his Counsellor.
Taking her up on the kind offer, Drew walked down towards the command level of the bridge, and took the chair on the left side. It felt rather odd not being sat in the direct centre of the bridge, but in some ways it was also rather liberating, in this chair, Drew did not have the responsibility for the safety of a Starfleet vessel, complete with the lives of its crew.
βTell me Colonel,β Drew said, leaning forward slightly in his chair, βdo you have any idea what may be waiting for us at Rutia?β
OOC:
Amazing what you learn when you read peopleβs bios! Can you remember the joint mission that the Nevada and Fang did Grace? It was years and years ago, from what I can see from your bio, it would have been in your first three months in the site. It was something to do with a rift that pulled us into another dimension or something.

"Even if that were so, he was being monitored the whole time. Telemetry had been set up to show us his vital signs in the infirmary. I would have been alerted, although I probably should have relieved him of his duties sooner."
"Perfectly understandable, Doctor. I look forward to working with again, but of course you probably don't remember me from the joint mission sometime back. I was stationed on different ship at the time." Grace replied.
"Yes, the Nevada if I'm not mistaken. Magellan's troubles had already started way back then. Maybe the Trill Commision's strict guidelines on good hosts aren't quite as strict any more. I'll have to speak with Laurana about this."
"Yes, that would be good idea." Grace looked and noticed Zhuk leaving the briefing room "I must excuse myself at the moment. I would like to have a private moment with the Colonal."
"If you need me or have any further thoughts, I'll be in sickbay. I'm sure Doctor Keller would appreciate the help."
"It was pleasure seeing you again, Doctor. I'm sure we'll see a lot of each other in the days to come. Good day to you, Doctor!"

Grace entered the turbolift completely unaware of her surroundings. Luckily for her, Matt had entered thte turbolift as well. Matt could tell the Grace was in the process of having a vision or something. Grace had that vacant look on her face he had come to recognize as and refer to as her vision face.
In Grace's mind she could hear Magellan. Outloud Grace repeated what she heard Magellan saying "All of you need to listen to me! Don't listen to Loran. She only wants to destroy us!"
The vision ended and Grace came back to herself. Even though she had been having a vision, Grace was aware that someone was with her. "Hi Matt!"
"Hi! Do you think we should report your vision? It wasn't that informative."
"No it wasn't. The only thing I can know for sure is that Magellan is trying to get things under control. I am not sure if it was him or Lin who had contacted me. I think I need some meditation time before I try to continue. I seem to be having a few too many distractions."
"In other words you mean too many old friends around. So, I'll escort you to your quarters, just in case. Then I'll return to the bridge and report your vision"
OOC:
You are correct Admiral. We did a joint mission together oh so long ago. It was that mission that I decided I didn't like time travel or dimension travel, too confusing!! I also served on the Nevada when the Nevada overtook the Fang in inspections!!! Do you remember that?

After the briefing Laurana excused herself and returned to her quarters. She was uneasy with so many starfleeters about. It was rare for a Guardian to leave Trill and whenever she did so she found herself constantly bewildered by how strange everyone seemed. She longed for the contentment derived from just sitting in the pools with symbionts about her.
Shaking her homesickness from her mind Laurana focused on the task at hand.
"Computer. Is there a library aboard the Jefferson?"
"Affirmative. The Library is located on Deck 11"
Laurana entered the nearly deserted room some five minutes later and settled down at a terminal. She quickly accessed the LCARS interface and entered her command codes to give her access to the Commissions database.
She scrolled through the records and performed search after search to bring the fragmentary pieces of information into one place. Arranging it in a suitable order she asked the computer to download to each of the senior staffs work stations.
Report on Magellan and Lin from Commission Files.
SUBJECT: Lin
CURRENT HOST (5th): Magellan Riva (Admiral in Starfleet. Assigned Section 47)
4th HOST: Toya (Exo-ecologist) Toya was an ecologist working for the Federation Council on Exo-biology. She joined well with Lin but was killed when Pirates extracted the symbiont for sale on the Black Market. The Lin symbiont was rescued by a Starfleet vessel.
3rd HOST: Loran (Leftenant in Trill Defense Force) Loran was initially an outstanding host earning many distinctions for valour and bravery. Despite her work her brusque manner often left her passed over for promotion. This resulted in her becoming jaded. She regularly saw criminals getting away on technicalitys and started to take the law into her own hands. Although never proved she was linked to the deaths of several criminals. So feared was she by the underworld that many tried to pay her off, at first she refused and then evidence mounted that she had begun to take the money and extorted more in protection racketeering. In 2364 her accounts were checked by Internal Affairs but they found nothing anomolous. It was suspected she transfered all her money to secret holdings in the Klingon Empire. 4 months later it was decided to remove her from Trill and she was despatched to Rutia on an Officer Exchange programme. She filed several complainnts over the transfer but none were ever upheld as she was killed shortly thereafter.
2nd HOST: Gethin (Mediator Attached to the Trill Diplomatic Corp) A low level diplomat who worked mostly in the background on many high level treaties and mediations. The highlight of his career was work on Turkana IV in which he arranged a shortlived ceasefire.
1st HOST: Bryson (Archivist) Quiet reclusive and somewhat neurotic individual. He blossomed while joined to Lin who helped him control many of his neuroses.
LIN - A somewhat unusual symbiont who maintains a certain distance from his hosts. Can have a very powerful influence and on more than one occasion has taken full control of the host when threatened with an iminent threat of mortal harm.

OOC wow, alot happens when your busy for a week
IC:
Cyle rose from the table and left the room when time allowed him to. He slowly walked down the corriders of his new ship, marveling at the design and difference between this ship, and the Nevada, his previous assignment.
He smiled as he remember doing a few missions with Grace, and the small bond they had created, he hoped that maybe that bond would grow now that they were working together again.
Entering his office, Cyle noticed the neatness and order of everything, the way or the marine was strong. Either that or the security personnel found out they were haveing a hardass marine officer coming aboard and decided to "fix" it, which ever way worked for Cyle.
Finding a PADD with a roster of marines under his command, read the names, none of which he knew. 'great, a bunch of newbies' he said to himself as he looked over service records, training would be long, and tiresome for them.
He left his office and headed to Marine Captain Potter's office, pressing the door chime, he waited until his presence was acknowledged. Stepping in, he nodded to Potter, "Good afternoon captain, i wanted to see if you had any ideas thus far on the mission"

Matt had never been present for one of Grace's famous visions, but he had been briefed about them. It fascinated him that a human brain was capable of doing this. It showed mankind that even with there advance technology they had just barely scratched the surface of the human mind. Matt was pretty sure that Grace picked up on what he was thinking, but she didn't share her opinion.
When the lift door open he made sure to let her exit first. He was pretty sure that she was perfectly fine, but then again being cautious never hurt anyone. When they reached her quarters Matt made sure that she had sitten down before he even thought of leaving.
"Is there anything that you want, maybe tea or some juice?" Matt asked realizing that he sounded like his mother when he was young.
"No, Matt I'm fine," Grace responded," I will try to contact Magallan."
"Ok, but make sure not to overdue yourself," Matt said," we may have three meidcal officer's but I don't want them to keep busy."
Matt was trying to be funny, but he was serious about keeping them bored. When the doctors on the Jefferson were busy it usually meant bad things. As Matt contemplated this he made his way back to the bridge, where things were already on there way.
"Colonel, Grace just experienced one of her visions which involved Admiral Lin," Matt said with relative calm, which was not shared by his commanding officer and Admiral.
"And what did she see?" Admiral Drew asked getting up from his seat.
"Not much really, she's mediatating right now in her quarters," Matt said," she promised if she got anything else she would report it immeidately."

This seemed to calm both men down, but Matt was sure that it was only a fascade. Both of them had worked with Admiral Lin and had invested interest in getting to him quickly.
As Matt took his seat next to the Captain he noticed a few padds next to him. It seeemed that the Jefferson had recieved a late arrival. A Major Cyle Johnson had just transferred, from non other than the Nevada, to be their new CTSO. Matt couldn't help but realize that the Nevada crew members were growing in number. ~Pretty soon they might take over~ Matt thought as he looked at his captain. The thought brought a smile to his face. ~I'd like to see them try.~
One thing was for certain, Matt would need to talk to both this Major Johnson and Leo. He would need to make perfectly clear that Leo was the marine officer onboard. If the Colonel could accept this the Major would have to as well. Matt would also make sure that Major Johnson kept most of the security personal in tact. He would not allow a marine officer to militarize the Jefferson's security team.
Matt immedatiely sent a message to both marines and asked them to meet him in an hour. It would be the perfect chance to meet the new addition to the crew and set some ground rules.

Daran and Stuart stepped off of the turbolift and quietly walked to Sickbay, both consumed with their thoughts regarding the mission to recover Admiral Lin.
As they walked into Sickbay, Daran took a glance around. There was only one bed occupied by a patient who was being attended to by a nurse. From where he was standing, Daran could easily see that the injury to the crew member was minor, but thought he should take a look anyway.
"Hi Hannah" he said as he wandered over. The nurse glanced over at him, nodded and looked back at her patient. "What seems to be the problem here?"
"This is crewman Taris" the nurse said. "He was repairing a ODN junction in Jeffries Tube 47 when he slipped off of a ladder. Fell a short distance and sprained his ankle." Daran nodded and smiled at the young crewman, then quickly checked the medical readouts. Nurse Lowell had been accurate in her assessment and was treating the injury properly.
"Excellent work" the CMO said. Daran turned, but didn't immediately see Cmdr. Mercy. Glancing around, Dr. Keller saw the back of Mercy's head through the window to the CMOs office. He had seated himself in an extra chair and was looking down. Daran walked into the room as well and sat down behind the desk. Stuart was staring at a PADD, but looked up as Daran sat.
"Did you have a chance to review the medical files on the Admiral?" the commander asked.
Daran nodded. "Very briefly. Everything looked fine to me, except for the isoboromine levels that you mentioned. I assume that the records were reviewed by a number of doctors at the Starbase." Mercy nodded, rather disappointed. Sometimes new eyes noticed new things.
"I was thinking that I would review medical files from Rutia to see if there was anything or anyone that the Admiral might be interested in visiting, or anything that wasn't transferred with " Daran said.
<Mercy>
Daran nodded and started setting up a data link between the Rutian medical database to see if there was anything left of Loran's medical files.

As Grace was meditating she began to reach her mind outward to the symbiont Lin: ~Lin can you hear me. My name is Grace. I am a member of Star Fleet. We are trying to locate you.~
~Go away Star Fleet! We want nothing to do with you. End your search NOW!!~ Was the reply Grace received from the host Loran.
The negativity of the response should have been enough to get Grace to end the search but the she heard something. A very small cry for help, it was very quiet but it came underneath Loran's reply. It was so quiet Grace almost missed it, it was from Lin's first host, Bryson. Then Grace heard a few more words from Bryson, all about Loran trying to get more control over the symbiont Lin, which is uncharacteristic of Lin, as he prefers to be in control not controlled
Grace came out of her meditation with one thought, we must get to Lin soon. Grace left her quarters to go to the bridge and report what little information she had so far.

Before joining Daran and Stuart in the turbolift, Nathan looked back over his shoulder and spotted Matt Reynolds. He lingered as he debated remaining, then tapped Daran on the shoulder. "I'll join you later," he promised, "I need to have a word with Commander Reynolds."
He cast Daran a pleading look. "It's important, to me," he added, hoping his chief would understand. "I'll try to make it brief, but I really need to talk to him. I'll tell you later why, I promise." He cast a dubious glance towards Stuart Mercy, not quite sure whether he trusted the human doctor; after all they'd just met and he knew he could trust Daran. "In private," he stressed, keeping his eyes on the starbase CMO.
With that, he stepped back and allowed the turbolift door to close and headed towards Reynolds, who was in conversation with the guest counselor. "Excuse me," he interrupted, "Commander Reynolds, could I have a word please?" He nodded towards Grace. "Good to see you again counselor," he acknowledged her, "I pray you are well?"
At Matt's nod, they stepped towards a quieter part of the bridge, but Nathan was conscious of Grace's eyes on him. "Commander, is there any news about Admiral MC7of9?" he asked, looking almost stricken, "I've received no news since boarding the Jefferson. Has he been found yet? Is he all right?"

It had been a while since Matt thought of Admiral MC and the Raven crew. It had been a very tough mission, but it indeed had gone very well. Even though they lost some brave souls in the end the admiral had been rescued.
"Doctor, I'm surprised that no one has told you," Matt said," the Admiral was rescued and is on his way back to Bellicose on the Raven."
Matt hesitated in telling him everything that he knew. The Admiral had gone through a lot and it wasn't his place to share that information. The clone of MC had been discovered in time, but Matt was not so sure about the Admiral's mind.
"Look, Doctor I recommend that you contact the Raven and talk to Doctor Betor or Counselor Smith," Matt said," other than that I cannot tell you anymore."

Admiral Drew had turned towards Zhuk. βTell me Colonel,β Drew said, leaning forward slightly in his chair, βdo you have any idea what may be waiting for us at Rutia?β
"To be honest, Admiral...no. You know as well as I do that the Rutians are a spacefaring humanoid race. They have remained unaligned, despite a long history of trade relations with the Federation, and have yet to achieve a unified planetary government."
Admiral Drew nodded his head in agreement as he was going over this information in his own mind. Zhukarak continued.
"If I remember correctly, about 25 years ago there was a large political seperatist group called the Ansata. They were led be a Kyril Finn. They used terrorism against the government in order to be heard. I'm assuming that the Trill Defense Force transferred Loran there in hopes to relieve some of her aggressions against the terrorists as she was becoming disillusioned on her homeworld."
"A fairly reasonable assumption." Admiral Drew chimed in.
Matt had returned to the bridge and informed the two of Grace's vision. Zhukarak knew she would be getting more of those as they got closer to Lin.

"Thank you commander," Nathan said, "I'll do just that. And allow me to welcome you back to the Jefferson. And congratulations on your promotion to first officer." He nodded towards the turbolift doors. "I should be joining my collegues in their efforts to find a cure for Admiral Lin," he added, "perhaps we can discuss this further at a later date?"
He chuckled softly. "And I'm not asking you out commander," he added as a reassurance, "rest assured, the male population aboard this vessel is quite...safe." His smile was less than genuine, but Reynolds understood the essence of his statement. Nathan could see that he did. "Excuse me commander," he finished as he walked towards the now waiting turbolift car. "Sickbay," he ordered as the doors closed behind him.
Seconds later, he walked into sickbay. "My apologies," he explained, "I had something...personal...to discuss with Commander Reynolds." He turned towards Mercy. "Doctor, I still don't understand how Magellan was able to overdose himself. I'm not questioning your medical competence in any way, but wouldn't the computer have alerted you sooner of the excess of isoboramine called up from the computer?"
He stared intently at the younger man, scrutinizing him. "At the very least he should've been confined to sickbay as soon as it became apparent he was ill. I understood you and a Vulcan healer both have been checking on him regularly, even against his own wishes. However, why did it take so long for him to be removed from his duties? Why was nothing done to suppress the presence of the other hosts?"
He pondered his own words. "What was that ceremony called again? Where hosts possess the bodies of a Trill's closest friends? Perhaps that is an idea to have performed at the earliest opportunity. Dangerous, maybe but I believe it may be a necessity. I'm no expert on Trills...I'm just a gynaecologist, but I come from a family of doctors. Both my parents are doctors, as is my younger sister. I don't make idle suggestions."
He waved towards Daran. "Doctor Keller can attest to that as well. Again, I am not saying you are incompetent. On the contrary, I commend you for what you've already done. But I can't help feeling more could've been done to help."
