Paria looked around after arguing with Alex. "You don't think I'll get reprimanded for that, do you?"
Dan looked over. "No, Paria, you'll be fine. If Commander Dixon was going to reprimand, he already would have. He doesn't wait around on that kind of thing."
She sighed. "Oh good. Now about that assignment." She tapped her comm-badge. "Paria to Lt Ruten."
"Ruten here. Go ahead Lt," came the response."
"Commander Dixon has asked us to work together on using a gravitic inhibitor field at a low frequency to attempt to communicated with our friends on Deck 10."
"Understood. If you would beam over, we can go ahead and start working on that."
"You'll have to beam me over, Ruten. We don't have power for transporters over here yet," she replied back.
A few moments later, she de-materialized. After she did, Dan looked over at Joktel. "I didn't know she had knowledge like that of Nuclear Physics."
Joktel nodded. "Her father is a Physicist."
"Ah," Dan replied.

(OOC, short posts are fine Dan, we all write this together, after all)
Alex listened as Zoarial reported up from Deck 10. Things sounded a little hairy down there. The Klingon CNO called up again and said "I'm sorry that I can't wait for the other team to get in position sir, but I just can't let these poor men die. I'm going in!"
"Stand by, Zoarial. If these things decide to attack, there's very little that you're going to be able to do. They barely exist in our time space coninuum. We are trying to get something together so we can get you back out if there's trouble" Alex ordered.
Zoarial sounded very anxious, for a Klingon. "If that's the order I'll stand by sir, but hurry up with whatever you want to do, I don't think that the captives are going to live much longer."
Thanks Zoarial, Alex thought to himself ruefully. Although he thought he was getting the hang of command, it seemed lives were at stake with every decision. Alex wondered if it ever got any easier. He tapped his communicator and established a three way link between Dan Trek, himself, Lt. Paria and Commander Zoarial. "Dixon to Paria and Ruten, how are things going?"
Lt. Paria answered. We have the gravitic inhibitor charged and the ship has been moved to target Deck 10. We're trying to figure out what strength to put the field at to get their attention without hurting them."
Alex ran some more calculations on the Ops Console, but Lt. Giga beat him to the answer. "I would recommend beginning at 2.36 mega Newtons and increasing the strength by .7 mega Newtons every 60 seconds and await a response. In addition, phasers should be on setting 9. It is unlikely that our phasers can kill such creatures, but the phasers may injure or slow them."
Alex looked over at the Android and nodded in thanks. "All right Zoarial, reset your phasers and go in to see what's going on. Paria, follow Giga instructions. Dan, it's my thought that the creatures must have decided to inhabit the Stargazer for some reason, but for the life of me I can't figure out why. See if you can figure out some reason why they're here."
Alex sat back and waited for responses from everyone.

"Acknowledged, Commander," Dan called through the comm. "Alright, so whats on this ship that the creature wouldn't normally find?"
Joktel spoke up. "Perhaps a by-product of the degradation of the duranium.....No wait, no. Duranium would take decades to degrade even under extremely high temperatures. The Stargazer sitting here abandoned for years would have the opposite effect on temperature. Never mind."
Jarez had a bit of inspiration. "That doesn't work, but think about this. All of these systems have been sitting here degrading for over a decade. Normally, they're meant to work in tandem, striking a delicate balance. That balance is maintained by power input. Take that power away...."
Joktel took that up "....And the systems fall up and start to mix! Over the years that would cause who-knows-what unexpected effects."
Inspired, Dan went into action. "Start scanning the power systems. Antimatter and Electro-Plasma would have a particularly interesting effect on their surroundings. Focus on the areas around the entity"
All four of them went to consoles at once, scrutinizing every centimeter of the ship.
Williams spoke up. "Well, its not the antimatter. Theres none left. And even if there was, the tank's not close enough."
Joktel turned. "I think I found it."
Dan came over quickly. Joktel had up a schematic of a EPS conduit. "Look at this. Before the Electro-Plasma cooled, it had significant time to react with the Duranium lining the conduit. Over time they fused, creating a new compound I've never seen before."
Dan looked at the sensor data. "It appears to be a form of metallic plasma."
Jarez was puzzled. "Is that possible?"
Dan looked at the data again. "I'm not sure. But evidently the duranium and plasma have reacted and formed a dense metallic plasma. Such a compound would be extremely electro-conductive."
"Didn't we find that the entity has electrical pulses going through it?" Joktel asked.
Dan checked the data. "Yes, and theres traces of the metallic plasma in its composition." He hit his comm-badge.
"Trek to Dixon. I believe I have your answer, Alex. It seems the Electro-Plasma from the EPS conduits reacted with the duranium lining those conduits to form a kind of dense, metallic plasma. I've never seen anything like it. Its quite electro-conductive, and we've found traces of it in the entity's corporeal composition. I believe the entity is absorbing the plasma itself for its own functioning."

Alex listened to Dan Trek's explanation. He had never hard of plasma and duranium combining before, but the unexplained was what they were out here to discover. He accessed the scans that the Engineers had utilized so that he could understand how they had come to their conclusions. After a minute of study, he sort of understood. "Yes Dan, I can see what you're getting at. Whatever chemical process this was has created a super dense plasmic duranium composite and it has used the existing EPS conduit to accumulate at the bottom of the ship. Where those creatures are is the lowest point of the ship and the artificial gravity generators have been functioning all this time, allowing the composite to flow, almost like water through a stream. And now we have a lake of the stuff that these creatures are using to sustain themselves."
Alex turned to Lt. Giga. "Giga, can you create a computer model that will allow us to determine how this composite was created? Use the analysis that Dan Trek has given about the stuff, enter the condition of the Stargazer 10 years ago as a start point, and see if the computer can provide a process as to how it came about."
Giga nodded, connected to the Raven's main computer and started entering data. After a few minutes, the computer returned a response. "Sir" Giga said, "the computer has given three possible solutions to the problem, but even the most probable is unlikely. The computer says that there is a 35.79 per cent probability that this process occurred naturally over time, but also says that the probability increases to 68.19 per cent if the Electro Plasma received an injection of ultra-high energy polaron particles. Particles of this nature tend to break down duranium and would have increased the total energy of plasma, allowing it to interact with the duranium and create the composite material."
Alex looked over at the chief science officer. "I can't think of a way to create ultra-high energy polaron particles artificially. They're normally caused by collapsing wormholes and neutron stars. Neither of which have been cataloged in the vicinity."
"No sir" Giga replied, "but they can exist for a very long time and can travel at nearly the speed of light. As such, the polarons were necessarily generated in the vicinity."
"That's true." Alex thought for a second then opened a channel to the Raven's Astrometrics lab. "Lt. Collaan, could you check the Astrometrics database for any incidents of ultra-high energy polaron particle waves within 12 light years of our present location?"
"Yes sir" she replied. "The USS Hood encountered a polaron wave about 7 years ago approximately 8 light years from here. They thought that they were under attack by a cloaked Jem Hadar ship, because the Jem Hadar had once used polarons against the USS Odyssee. However, they ended up calculating that the wave had been generated by the collapse of the neutron star SG-1758 in the Margolis Cluster."
"And I suppose that SG-1758, our present location and where the USS Hood was are in a straight line to one another" Alex concluded.
"To within a few meters" Collaan replied.
"Right, thank you lieutenant." There was a coincidence of galactic proportions, Alex thought to himself. So now they knew how the composite had originated and why the creatures were here. Now it was a matter of figuring out what to do with them and getting their two crew members back. Speaking of which... Alex tapped his comm badge. "Dixon to Zoarial, have you found our crew members yet?"

Alex: =/\= Dixon to Zoarial, have you found our crew members yet? =/\=
Zoarial tried to reach for his commbadge.
Alex: =/\= Zoarial come in =/\=
The Klingon was able to raise himself from the floor, he felt a small line of warm liquid on his cheek. He managed to activate his flashlight, and when he looked around he saw various members of the team in a similar position. He did a quick role call and all seemed to be present and unharmed. In relief Zoarial forgot the voice coming out of his commbadge.
Alex: =/\= Commander Zoarial, do you read me? =/\=
The warm voice brought Zoarial back to reality. He reached for the commbadge, pinned it back to his uniform and replied.
Zoarial: =/\=Zoarial to Dixon, excuse me for my slow response.=/\=
Alex: =/\= Don't worry commander, I'm sure that you have a good excuse. Report.=/\=
Zoarial: =/\=I don't know what kind of trick you played sir, but it did a damned good job. Right after the shock wave I opened the door to the other room, and saw some forms laying lifelessly on the floor, one moved however and it rushed right over me, knocking me to the ground and ripping off my badge in the process. I was just informed that one team member, ensign Paul Haywood, was able to withstand the creature and single handedly contained it in a forcefield, if it wasn't for him we would all be in a similar position as the two other crew members now.=/\=
<<alex>>
Zoarial: =/\=Yes sir, I'm sure that he'll appreciate that. He accompanies me regularly when I'm the head of a security team. I'm going to check on the other crew members now, I'll report back to you in 10 minutes sir. Zoarial out.=/\=
Zoarial reentered the room after the alien lifeform was transported to the Raven for examination. He immediately saw the two unfortunate people, both on one end of the room, held in some kind of containment chamber. After a bit of cutting through the surrounding metal, both men were freed, they looked a bit sore.
Zoarial: =/\=Zoarial to Raven, I have two slightly bruised people which need a transport to sickbay=/\=
After the two freed prisoners disappeared, Zoarial tapped his commbadge.
Zoarial: =/\=Zoarial to Commander Dixon, both engineers have been transported to sickbay. The Stargazer seems to be clear of any lifeforms at the moment. I am awaiting further instructions.=/\=

Williams piped up. "Commander, I don't know how, but they've managed to beam the corporeal part of the entity."
"Interesting. Fortunately for its non-corporeal component, its not limited by walls or bulkheads. I would it can just relocate itself to where we moved the corporeal component. Now, about the EPS system. I'm assuming that the duranium lining of the conduits didnt entirely corrode, given that the composite flowed downward? Is there enough duranium left to line the conduits?"
Joktel looked at the sensor data. "I would assume so. After all, the electro-plasma in the conduits is normally surronded by containment fields. They would rarely meet. That's also assuming we choose to fly this thing under its own power."
"True, very true. Which I would opt not to do, if I can. I would much rather leave this vessel's condition as close to what it was when we found it as possible. Getting this thing ready to fly on its own would require extensive modifications."
"Not to mention that whatever museum is keeping this thing probably doesnt wan't a museum piece someone could hijack and fly away with it," Jarez joked.
Dan chuckled. "Indeed, wouldn't that be interesting. But, back to business. Chief, hows the repair work on the hull coming? Whats the structural integrity like?"
Jarez looked at a couple progress reports on his console from his damage control teams. "Sections 1-7 on all Decks have been repaired. My teams are currently working on the port dorsal portion of Section 8. Structural intregrity in the repaired sections is good. Elsewhere, it'd fall apart. Once we have Sections 8 and 9 finished, that'll be enough to get a proper tractor-lock on the ship, but the aft section of the ship wouldn't survive that just yet. We'll need another day or two to get it done."

Giga stood at his console. He was modifying the sensors to scan at the molecular level when he was approached by a male Lieutenant Commander.
"Lt. Giga, I have a communique on hold for you from the Bellicose. Ambassador Dowding. He says it is urgent."
Giga nodded, "I will take it here." He said motioning to his console.
"Very well." The Lt. Cmdr tapped a few buttons on his padd.
The screen flickered on Giga's console from the sensor readouts to a picture of the Ambassadors head.
"Giga! Good to see you, Good to see you." Dowding exclaimed.
"Indeed." Giga replied. "Ambassador, I am currently on duty. What is the nature of your communique?"
"Always to business, aye? Well, I have news that may come as good or bad. You are being assigned to the Jefferson, I have no idea why. However, this transfer will take effect immediately. Your CO has been informed..."
Giga cut in. "I will speak to Commander Dixon also."
"Very well. A shuttle is on route from the Jefferson to pick you up."
"Acknowledged Ambassador."
"Giga, good luck."
Before Giga could ask why he would need a fictional superstition to help him, the comm cut.
Giga sighed. He accessed the information that came with the communique. The shuttles name was the Krelians. Giga also noticed in the information that the Jefferson was the First Fleet's Flagship.
Giga tapped his comm badge, opening a comm link to Commander Dixon. He knew the Commander was off ship but the Shuttle was arriving in less than two hours and Giga acknowledged the fact that he should contact the Commander. He supposed it could be said that he 'felt' it.
"Lt. Giga to Commander Dixon."
<TAG Dixon>
"I am sure you are aware of my transfer Commander. I would like to say thank you for your strong command." Giga paused, trying to think of the right words to say. Heart felt goodbyes were not his specialty. "It has been an honour to serve under you." That seemed right.
<TAG Dixon>
"The shuttle arrives in approximately 1 hour and 46 minutes. I will be taken directly to the Jefferson."
<TAG Dixon>
"Yes Sir." He paused and remembered the Ambassador's words. "And good luck Commander."
<TAG Dixon>
The comm was cut and Giga left the bridge and ordered the turbolift to his quarters. He would pack his little possessions and then make his way to the shuttlbay.
The doors hissed open and Giga exited the turbolift.
Although Giga did not think like this as it was an emotion, that was the last time he would walk from the bridge of the Raven.
He entered his quarters and the doors shut behind behind him. The quietness of the Raven's quarters echoing the silence of emotion in Giga.

Alex waited for Zoarial to respond to his question regarding the captives. The wait was much longer than normal. Usually the CNO was very efficient. Reluctantly, he decided to call down again. "Commander Zoarial, do you read me?"
Finally he answered, saying that after some effort the prisoners had been recovered and an alien life form captured. Zoarial also had some praise for Ensign Haywood, who had apparently saved the day single handedly.
"Pass on my thanks to Ensign Haywood. I'll be interested to read your reports. In the meantime, get the teams to provide security for the Raven's personel that are aboard the Stargazer. Leave Ensign Haywood in charge of one team and Lt. Harper in charge of the other. I'd like you to beam back to the Raven though. I'm getting nervous about having so many senior officers aboard the Stargazer" Alex said.
<Zoarial>
Alex closed the channel to Zoarial and glanced up from Ops and caught the Admiral hurriedly concealing a PADD again. Alex couldn't figure out what Maxwell was up to, but it didn't really matter. The Stargazer was more important. Alex contacted Commander Trek again. "Hi Dan, how's in going down there?"
"Pretty good" Dan said.
"So you don't think that the Stargazer will be able to get back to starbase under her own power?" Alex asked.
"No way" Dan stated flatly.
Alex sat back and sighed. It would have been nice to fly the old girl back, but if Dan didn't think it was possible, it wasn't. "All right Dan, I think that we've done as much as we can do up on the bridge. Is there anything else for us to do that you can think of?"
<Dan Trek>
"Okay. I think that we can do that remotely from the Raven as long as we maintain the multiphased data connection between the ships. We'll lock that down up here, then beam back. Make sure that your teams have some security with them in case of trouble. Dixon out." Alex closed the channel and turned to Giga. "Lieutenant, lock up the data connection between the Stargazer and the Raven then prepare to beam back to the ship with Admiral Maxwell." The android nodded and quickly entered the appropriate commands into the system. Then he and Admiral Hunter were beamed back to the Raven, leaving Dixon and one security man behind.
"Ensign, make sure that all consoles on the bridge are locked down. I'm going to do a final diagnostic on the main systems to see if there's any other critical damage that we need to take care of." The ensign nodded and started moving around the bridge, examining systems while Alex began another diagnostic. It was pretty slow going as the Stargazer didn't have a whole lot in the way of computer power, but with some systems being run off the Raven, it wasn't too bad.
They had been at it for about a half hour when Alex's comm badge chirped. "Lt. Giga to Commander Dixon."
Alex remained bent over the Ops console and said "Go ahead, lieutenant."
"I am sure you are aware of my transfer Commander. I would like to say thank you for your strong command. It has been an honour to serve under you." The android said quietly.
Alex was surprised. He hadn't had a chance to review him incoming communications for quite a while. It was probable the order was sitting on his console back aboard the Raven right now. "No, I hadn't heard. But I'm sorry to hear it now. It has been an honour and a pleasure to serve with you as well. What ship have you been assigned to and when will you be going?"
"The shuttle arrives in approximately 1 hour and 46 minutes. I will be taken directly to the Jefferson." Giga replied.
Alex sighed regretfully. It was always terrible to lose a good officer. He wondered what the rush was, but there was sure to be a good reason behind it, so Alex said the only thing he could. "I'm sure that you'll be a credit to your new ship, just as you were to the Raven."
"Yes Sir." And good luck Commander" Giga said.
"Thank you lieutenant. Stargazer out." Distractedly, Alex returned to the Ops console and started working again. However, there seemed to be a problem with data transfer through the ODN network. Alex continued to work, but he started seeing more and more red lights on his interface. Suddenly, everything turned red at once and the back of the console blew off in a shower of sparks. Alex hit the deck, yelling at the security man to get behind the Ops console with him. He pulled out his tricorder and started scanning as the other man landed beside him. The bridge was filled with a electomagentic field and Alex knew what had happened. Desperately, he interphased his tricorder with the Stargazers computer and initiated a level 4 force field around where he and the security man were sheltered. The hum reassured him that the field was active, but then there were a series of sharp energy discharges. Alex peaked over the console and could see a number of weirdly blob like semi-transparent things hovering around the bridge. He tapped his comm badge. "Raven, I've got a bit of a problem over here..."

(OOC sorry about double posting, but I suddenly remembered we couldn't use comm badges : Alex tapped his comm badge again and repeated his message, but there was still no reply from the Raven. Then the light bulb popped on and he muttered an obscenity so vile that the security officer looked over in surprise. "Sorry Ensign...?" Alex couldn't even remember the man's name. "Perry, sir. Ensign Drew Perry." the young officer said. "Sorry ensign. I just remembered that Commander Trek said that these creatures emitted an electro magnetic field that jams all subspace frequencies." Alex shook his head. He would have had better luck opening an window and yelling at the Raven as he had using his communicator. He felt just as dumb as he had after finding out he had answered the matter/antimatter intermix ratio question incorrectly on his Starfleet entrance exam. Well, he'd have to think of something else. Alex peeked over the top of the console. As he did, there was a series of electrical discharges and he could see the force field buckling as one of the creatures tried to force it's way through. He used his tricorder to analyze the attack. The thing nearly made it through, but had to retreat. Alex got back down behind the console and finished analyzing the attack, then turned to Perry. "Ensign, do you have a tricorder?" The man nodded. "Good, access the force field and start pulling power from the other fusion generators on the Stargazer, then create an inverse tetryon lattice structure and apply it to the force field. That should firm it up considerably against another attack." "Yes sir" the ensign replied and started working. Without looking up, he said "How are we going to get some help?" Alex started working with his own tricorder. "Well, I'm sure that Commander Trek is going to start wondering why his fusion generators are working so hard all of a sudden, but in case he doesn't notice, I'm modulating the data stream between the Stargazer and the Raven. I can't send a message, but I can get them to notice something is going on." The two Starfleet officers continued to work as the being circled the force field threateningly.

Williams looked at the power read-out, and was puzzled by the power consumption. "Commander, I think you should come take a look at this."
Dan was crouched under a console, and turned around, moving himself towards erect. Unfortunately, the console got in his way of doing that, and he bumped his head on the underside, rather hard. "Ow!" He moved out from under the console, and came over. "What's the problem, Ensign."
Williams pointed at the read-out. "The power consumption from Generators 1, 2, and 3 just increased by 50%"
Dan tapped his comm-badge. "Engineering to Bridge. We just noticed that the demand on the generators done here just rose sharply. What's going on up there?"
He listened, but got only silence. "Engineering to Bridge. Commander Dixon, respond."
Joktel looked up. "When the entity was present, we noticed that the comm-badges wouldnt work. We could be having the same problem."
"You saying the entity may be on the Bridge?" Dan asked. Joktel nodded in response. "I'm going up there," he said, he put a phaser in his belt, and headed for a hatch.
"Commander?" Williams held out a site-to-site transporter.
Dan shook his head. "Thank you, Jake, but I prefer the exercise." He went over to a console, and programmed every hatch to open that he would be through between Engineering and the Bridge. He then headed to the hatch.
He crawled through the Jeffries tube, until he reached the vertical tube that would directly to the Bridge. Now came the reason why he opened all the hatches. With their long arms and legs, and rough skin, made his species excellent climbers, and their architecture was designed with that in mind. Their buildings were rather vertical, with very steep stairs, saving space. He mounted the ladder, and then sprang into action. He stretched his arms and legs out, moving them quickly. He ascended rapidly taking just a few seconds to go through each Deck. He reached Deck 1 in less than 30 seconds. He then drew his phaser, and climbed out of the hatch onto the Bridge.
Fortunately, he found everyone on the Bridge, including Alex, standing and aware. But looking around, Dan found the entity. It was hovering in the air, in the middle of the Bridge. From the sparking grid around it, they were adapting to establish a force-field to contain it.
As soon as Dan looked upon the entity, he felt something pressing on his mind. He felt the energy coming into him. He stiffened, breathing in sharply.
Alex noticed, and looked over. "What is it, Dan?"
Dan looked over at Alex, but then turned his gaze back to the entity. "Commander, you may recall me telling you that my species have the ability to broadcast mental energy. What I haven't told you is that we're also capable of being a receptor for that mental energy. And whatever this being is, its mental energy is similar to my own, and I believe it has quickly figured all this out. I believe it is trying to communicate with me."
"Do you have any idea what it's saying?" Alex inquired.
"The communication is not in words. The Elder members of our society, like me, are capable adding mood and in some cases, basic concepts to mental energy. What I am recieving seems like curiousity, and wonder about us, and what it is we are. I am responding the concept of peace, hoping it understands that it understands we have good intentions."

Giga had his one bag of possessions and he stood to attention as the shuttlecraft came into the bay. He slowly moved over to the landed craft and he climbed in. He was greeted by a Bolian Ensign who apparantly had been assigned from the Assailant to meet him.
Giga took the co-pilots seat.
"Perhaps you could fly Lt?" The Ensign asked. "I am a little tired from my journey."
"Of course, you rest. I can take the shuttle's controls."
The Bolian said his thanks and went to the back of the shuttle where he pulled out a bunk from the wall of the shuttle. He lay down and was soon sleeping.
Giga prepped the shuttle for launch and was granted departure.
The shuttle zoomed out of the bay as Giga said farewell to his first posting. Strangely, the lack of emotion that was usually present was not present at that point...

Alex nodded in agreement. "That's fine Commander. Keep it up. Perry and I have to finish our analysis."
Dan nodded and turned his eyes back to the trapped entity, while Alex and Perry continued to scan the creature with tricorders. It was an interesting energy matrix, Alex thought to himself as he examined his scanner. The entity appeared to be centred around a core emitting a strong nuclear force. However, there was a surrounding flexible meshlike framework made of up of gravity lines that seemed to hold the visible form of the creature together. Alex frowned at the readings. He wasn't sure why the force field was restraining it, or even if it was. He tried an active scan from his tricorder, but that didn't register anything.
He resumed passive scanning and noticed that the energy currents ebbed and flowed almost synchronous with changing expressions on Trek's face. That gave him an idea and turned to Perry. "Ensign, manipulate the data stream between the Stargazer and the Raven so it can be accessed by my tricorder, then request that the Raven tie in the universal translator." The walked to the Science console and started entering commands while Alex continued to watch the creature and Dan commune. Finally, Perry nodded at Alex.
"All right Dan, here's what I'd like you to do. Please tell me exactly what thoughts you are sending to the creature, and what you feel that you're getting in return. I think that it communicates by direct energy impulses. If we analyze the energy impulses and know what they mean, we might be able to come up with a complete translation matrix" Alex said.

Alex watched as Dan Trek and the creature communed with one another. It was an odd process, with the expressions on Dan's face change at the same time as the light emissions from the other. Dan Trek was mentioning what he was getting from the creature into a tricorder, which Alex was monitoring. The translation matrix was nearly complete, but his comm badge went off.
"Joktel to bridge..."
"Go ahead" Alex replied.
We have complete necessary repairs to the Raven and she's now ready to be towed." the engineer said.
"Good work. Dixon to Zoarial, move the Raven into position to tow the Stargazer and standby."

Communicating with the creature was in interesting and challenging process. Transmitting an idea without words, or images, but rather as a mental concept, was difficult. He had to explain things that were basic to their existance.
The creature pulsed. "It is wondering why we are here, curious as to our intent. I am attempting to communicate the concept of ownership to it, though it is challenging, as in some cases not even an entire culture believes in such an idea. The Native Americans of your race, for example Commander. I am attempting to explain that those that came before us brought this ship into existance, leaving the complexities of starship construction out of it."
The creature once again pulsed, this time, more strongly, and in a more complex pattern. "It is transmitting the idea of an emptiness, which was slowly filled, and wondering why. I believe it is asking why it found it empty, and why we appeared later. I responding with the concept of damage, and that the ship wasnt able to function anymore."
The creature pulsed, low but drawn out. "It is having trouble understanding the concept of damage. Because it knows no solid existance, physical damage would mean nothing to it."
Dan heard voices going back and forth on the Bridge, but only caught the last part. "Good work. Dixon to Zoarial, move the Raven into position to tow the Stargazer and standby."
"Alright, in that case, I'm transmitting the concept of us taking the ship, and it vacating the ship."
At this point, the creature's pulses grew rapid, and strong. Dan went rigid as electrical energy coursed through his body, and he groaned as a result. "I...do not....think it likes....the idea....of us forcing it out....I am offering....for it to remain on the ship.......until the plasmic material is gone....and then leave the ship...."
The creature's pulses decreased in strength again. He breathed out, sighing. "Fortunately, for me, it agrees to the concept. Commander, I recommend we take the Stargazer towards the Museum, but keep it some distance away until the creature has finished consuming the plasmic material."

Alex: =/\=Dixon to Zoarial, move the Raven into position to tow the Stargazer and standby=/\=
Finally! Zoarial thought, he had waited for this event to finish for quite some time now. Because he wasn't really familiar with antiques, this ol' barrel o' junk didn't really mean a thing to him.
But this time he decided to be careful in towing the ship, to keep the rest of the crew in a friendly attitude toward him.
Zoarial expected the Raven to be in the same position as he had left it, but it seemed to have turned some minor degrees to the left. Zoarial adjusted the course and made a small note on his PADD to check the thrusters a bit to see whether they had been functioning properly.
Zoarial: =/\=Zoarial to Stargazer, the Raven is in position again, ready to tow the Stargee... gazer. Commander Trek, what speed can the Stargazer handle without falling apart?=/\=
<<dan>>
Zoarial: =/\=Acknowledged. Zoarial out.=/\=
Zoarial gradually increased the Raven's speed to try and keep the ride of the Stargazer clear of any sudden movements. Within minutes the Raven was at full impulse, and Zoarial gave a signal to the Stargazer that he was going into Warp.
Zoarial: =/\=I hope that you're ready commander Trek! Going to warp speed in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, zero=/\=
No alarming yells came from the other side of the channel, so Zoarial assumed that all was going alright. With no superior officer on the ship, Zoarial sat down in the center seat and watched the stars shooting by on the viewscreen.

Alex listened as Dan detailed what the creature wanted. A delay while the last of the substance the creature used to sustain itself was consumed was alright with him, and it would give the Science section a good long chance to study the creature before it disappeared. "All right, Dan. Make sure it knows that the ship will be going into warp and there will be humans aboard the Stargazer for the trip. Please ask if it's all right that we study it. We may never have this opportunity again."
Dan transmitted the message to the creature, and it agreed to all conditions. Alex sighed with relief, contacted the Raven and had himself beamed back.
As he walked to the bridge, he could feel the ship jump to warp as the deep bass of the engines vibrated the ship. The turbolift doors swished open and he stepped on. The room was quiet, with only a murmurred conversation between Admiral Maxwell and Captain Weill breaking the silence. The two of them looked over as Alex stepped onto the bridge, and Captain Weill said "Nice job aboard the Stargazer, Mr. Dixon. Would you mind joining Admiral Maxwell and I in my Ready Room?"
Suspiciously, Alex followed the two of them in. Weill sat down behind his desk and Admiral Maxwell commandeered a couch. Shrugging, Alex took the seat across from the Captain. As he sat, Captain Weill said "Well Admiral, what do you think?"
"I think that he did a fine job, and I accept your recommendation" Maxwell replied.
"Good. I think that calls for a drink." Gus turned and leaned over to the bulkhead behind his desk. Alex couldn't see what he did, but when the Captain turned around, he had a container of green liquid and 3 glasses, which he filled and handed out. Gus held up his glass in a salute to Alex, and the Admiral joined in. Puzzled, Alex returned the gesture and took a swig. The stuff burned his way down his throat. Only his pride prevented him from coughing his lungs out.
"Alex, I suppose that your wondering what all this is about." Alex nodded in reply, which was all he could do just now anyway. "As you know, I have decided to retire from Starfleet. I will be leaving immediately. I invited Admiral Maxwell here to evaluate my last request to Starfleet. That you be appointed the commanding officer of the USS Raven." Alex's eyes widened and his jaw dropped as he heard that, and Gus smiled at the sight. He and Admiral Maxwell stood.
"Well Captain" Gus said, "the Admiral and I will be leaving immediately aboard a shuttle. It's been an honour serving with you." Chuckling, the two of them turned and left the Ready Room, leaving a flabbergasted new commanding officer behind.
(OOC: Well, that's the end of this mission. I think that we have done a very good job overall, considering that there were only three of us posting regularly.
In case I haven't made myself clear, thank you very much Commanders Trek and Zoarial. We may only have been three, but it was still a pleasure being aboard ship with you, and I think that we have interesting times ahead of us.
If you wish to say your goodbyes to Captain Weill, please do. Otherwise, you can continue to post to this thread regarding anything that you're up to between now and when we arrive at Starbase Assailant to pick up our new crew.
Thank you for your perseverance.
Alex)
