Park was working so hard on tracking the movements of Commander waterson he didn't hear from His captian and First officer at first. "Yes Captain." Jon said. Commander Trek was looking at him with some consern as he came over Park just said to him "Long nights tracking our suspect, But i will be fine.
Park went to the Tactical Station and readyied the ship for battle if they need to fire a shot he would be ready as would the Nevada. His friend Thomas looked at him a little more then the Commander did He knew Jon a little better. JOn looked at him and Thomas knew He and Jon would have a talk about what was bothering him soon.
Commander Park was so focused on his work he didn't hear what was going on on the bridge untill he heard Seth report to the Commander that the two they were traacking were going to meet.
"Captain the ship is ready. Should we need it we can stop them." Park was sure. The tricks he learned in the academy and from past fiends and family would work.

Jon was working hard on the ships defenses. He was looking at the screens and had glanced in at a Padd a young Ensign handed him. Taking the Padd to Commander Trek. "Sir we have a 20% drop in the Secondary Command Firing Sequencer. Now that we have no Chief who do i address this too."
<Tag Trek>
Commander Park looked on as Dan spoke to him about how to fix the issue. Jon walked back to the Tactical station and headed to Thomas. "Any suspicious actions from our guest." Thomas hit some commands and showed Jon the live feed of Commander Waterson and she was walking down a section of the ship that had no real security risks.
Jon was thinking about if Nack was losing his mind concerned about Commander Waterson. Jon looked at Thomas "Keep you eyes on her." Jon headed back to the Rear Tactical station and hit some commands seeing the screens show the weapons systems status. They were all green across the grid.

The channel was shut, but the screen was still turned on. There was no one on the screen, not anymore. It was a while before Seth Helacaan considered turning it off. He was sat back, slumped in his seat with little regard for his surroundings, nor any for the Emblem of the Federation emblazoned on the now dark screen that had once displayed the Romulan Hospital Ops Manager.
Soon, with any luck, the Nevada would be intercepting the vessel it had been pursuing for the last few hours. Seth got an image of the ship diving out of warp and firing wildly at the ship, which would just happen to be right there. No. The whole event was likely to be a short, tense affair. If it was going to be anything at all of course.
Eventually Seth got up, turning off the screen with a quick sharp swipe of the hand at the control panel. The room was quiet, deserted. Two rows of empty seats infront of wall-consoles were parted by a three/four metre gap. Oddly, the mood of the room fitted Seth's current mental state. He operated the door control, it had been locked, and he walked out.
The bridge was Seth's destination. Reporting the news from Yavin III to Captain Nack or Commander Trek, whoever was present, seemed like the best move. He made a note to himself to hold a departmental meeting with his Operations staff. Seth was still in the position where he did not know his Ops officers all that well, having only held dialogue with a mere few of them. Lieutenant Hasak was one of those. Seth decided - very reluctantly - that he would meet with Hasak off duty, if only in an attempt to get acquainted with his staff.
Turning the corner, Seth walked past Doctor Grey. He frowned in his mind. He wasn't near sickbay, so he found it odd to find the Doctor there. "Doctor," he said, nodding at her as he walked by and making eye contact to make sure she knew he was talking to her. The man from Ascension only did this for a second though; he had important things to attend to.
As it happened, Grey stopped him anyway. Seth turned upon her getting his attention, "Yes, Doctor?" he asked.

"I hear you wanted to see me, Doctor," he said to Rylka. He knew why, since Dan Trek was railing on him earlier. It was due to the stress Commander Trek felt he was experiencing. Nack was still in denial, and he was pretty sure... well, almost sure... that Commander Waterson was still involved in his second collapse. It wasn't due to stress.
Tiffani was headed to find the captain when she spotted him on his way to sickbay, she was puzzled for a moment about his suddeny stop in his track but shook it off, She smiled *Yes, you are correct, we can do it now if you have the time* she stated.
"If we can make it quick - I have some things to attend to." He walked with Rylka as she laid out carefully worded questions to determine his mental state.
she just gave the captain a look for a moment, always like a captain she thought to herself, always in a hurry to get things done. *well first off, lets me start by asking you what seems to be troubling you?* she knew she would have to work around this carefully to get the captain to open up to her, Ferengi's did not talk openly about their problems in generally or atleast that was the impression she got fom most that she had encountered, which hadn't been many.
<Tag Captain>
*captain, with all due rspect, there must be something that is troubling you, people don't have heart attacks for no reason, 90% of Heart Attacks are brough on by stress. So obiviously something is bothering you* she said. hoping that he would open up more to her

"Nothing is troubling me." Nack shrugged off the suggestion as if there was never a basis for asking it.
Nack started walking, adding, "If we are going to do this, you need to follow me, since we are quite busy right now." Nack secretly hoped that Doctor Rylka wouldn't follow him - that she would just relent and come back another day. To his displeasure, she followed along asking more questions. She insisted that he must have something wrong for the heart attacks to occur. His mission to find Lucy was forgotten as he turned back around.
Entering the turbolift to head back to the bridge, he responded. "I'd like to remind you, that the second heart attack was not due to stress... clearly." He mumbled about Waterson again, but the continuing rants about her were slowly growing less violent. As if Nack was rethinking his position, either due to coming to reality on the situation, or because he realized trying to convince this crew was futile.
They hit the bridge, and he gave Rylka a finger motioning for her to wait for a minute while he took care of some business.
"Helm, status."
"We are currently following the path that Lieutenant Helacaan gave us...."
"A ship is on sensors," an operations officer interupted excitedly in the back of the bridge.
"Time until intercept?"
"Fifteen minutes... and they just raised their shields."
Nack tensed up. Realizing that Rylka was watching his every move, he tried to relax before giving the order to go to Red Alert
~/\~ RED ALERT ~/\~
Nack wondered what Commander Rylka could be thinking about now... since he was clearly stressed. Surely she would notice this was a good stress. Hopefully. Nack convinced himself it was.
"Commander Park, get weapons online. Have Acting Ensign Littlewood give you a hand. We have fifteen minutes to get things right."
<tag Park / Littlewood>
The Ferengi turned to his First Officer. "Pinpoint the beacon in their ship. I want the medical equipment back on board, and the thief in our brig as fast as possible."
Finally, he turned back to Doctor Rylka. "I think you are going to find that all Captains in Starfleet are stressed, Counselor."
That was a true statement, however, what the Doctor was getting at - and the point that Captain Nack was missing, was that a Captain was judged not on how much stress he had built up in him, but how well he handled it.
<tag Rylka>
"Ten minutes until intercept." the helmsman announced.

Seth was on what could be described a leisurely stroll through the ship to the bridge. He failed to understand how close the Nevada was until intercept time. This fact was brought to light in his head when the Red Alert claxons burst into life. The once dormant lights running down either side of the corridor he was in, in the walls and on the ceiling, began flashing a periodic red. Red, the colour of Danger, Warning. Where had that come from? Even on Ascension, a world separated from the Federation for over two hundred and fifty years, the colour red still held that meaning.
Breaking away from such abstract thoughts, Seth picked up into a jog, he needed to be on the bridge. He ran into the turbolift at the end of the corridor, resolving to leave his immediate problems behind him. He knew they would come back to find him before too long, but for now he had to focus.
Seth stepped out on to the bridge and briefly looked around, taking in the situation and then moving off to his console. The Captain was standing in the command arena, looking forward at the viewscreen. It showed nothing as of yet, but that would soon change. "You're relieved Ensign." The on-duty Ops officer stepped back from the console and let Seth in. "Take the Mission Ops console." The Ensign nodded to Seth, not sure whether to say 'Yes Sir' or not. It was the unfamiliarity with his staff again that was letting him down.
Seth looked down at the Ops console, trying to see past the black, blue, green and orange displays at the numbers and figures being displayed to him. It was only now that Seth realised that he couldn't concentrate, he was tired. Thoughts of his quarters, Wezean Coffee, bed.. went through his head and back out of it. He would have to stick with this for now, there would be plenty of time to rest later. Real danger seemed a far off prospect to Seth, he didn't feel at all that what the Nevada was about to do was in any way a potentially fatal thing. There was always the chance, and that was what Seth was failing to grasp. He may not be resting after this.
He tugged at his uniform collar, it was making him uncomfortable again. It wasn't as if he didn't wear this kind of clothing often, he was used to uncomfortable wear; something psychological, to do with the origin of the uniform itself maybe. He stopped tugging on his collar when something blinked on his console.
"Target is changing course..." Seth announced, not looking up and continuing to work the console, "They may be turning to face us, or they may be trying to escape."
Seth knew the second option was a pointless action for the 'Thief' to take, it was impossible for them to outrun the Nevada.

"Target is changing course..." Helacaan announced."They may be turning to face us, or they may be trying to escape."
Possibilities, possibilities...they had to be prepared for whatever might come...
He couldn't think properly. Dan let out a frustrated sigh, yanked up his uniform sleeve and deactivated the holographic arm. The mental strain of trying to conduct such a detailed sensor sweep, while simultaneously making command decisions and maintaining the control of his arm was sometimes more than he could handle.
"We should be prepared for either contingent," Dan responded. "If they turn to face us, it may well be a last stand. Mr. Park, conduct a tactical analysis of that ship. Mr. Oidar, be prepared to adjust our heading in response to their's."
A few moments later, he had it. "The beacon is in what appears to be a cargo hold in the aft portion of the ship, Captain."

Tristan had been on the Nevada for a short time before he became the Chief engineer he didn’t really know what was happening on the ship at the moment he had been busy catching up on technical schematics and such. Tristan was young and very inexperienced he questioned himself as to whether or not he was ready for such a big responsibility. Tristan has been very worried about getting a call from the bridge about a system that need repairing.
Tristan was on his way to engineering when he got word that the Captain wanted the weapons systems back online and Tristan Littlewood was to help Jon Park get them online. As Tristan made his way to the bridge he found out that he only had fifteen minutes to get the job done, Tristan felt the pressure of his new position as the turbolift opened and he stepped onto the bridge. Tristan began to sweat and his hands were shaking.
Tristan moved to the engineering station and went to work re-routing power from less important systems. Tristan pulled open a control panel and looked at the circuitry for the weapons console when Commander Park bent down next to him and said.
“Report”
Tristan looked at the officer as he replied.
“I need to replace these burnt out circuits in ten minutes now Can you help me sir”
<Tag Jon Park>
Tristan was afraid of letting the captain down on his first task as chief engineer but Tristan was confident that with Commander Parks help the job would be completed in time.

"Yes Commander." Park was running scans of the ship after he hit the command for Red Alert. Scanning the vessel park knew they would have a fight on there hand,However the Nevada would win in a fire fight yet if the ship ran the Nevada would catch up after a bit.
Heading to the Console where the new Chief engineer had just open a panel.Jon wasn't in a good mood and barked "Report." A little more intensely as he meant. Ensign Littlewood looked to Park and said.
“I need to replace these burnt out circuits in ten minutes now Can you help me sir”
"Sure Ensign. Relax and just focus on the work." Jon hands him a Hypospaner and looked on as Littlewood worked on the circuit. Jon took the Circuit as Littlewood handed it to him. Littlewood replaced the Circuit and closed the panel.
Jon Stood up and said to him "Littlewood i was unsure when i first arrived. Just relax and we will all do fine.Excuse me i have a weapons report to give to the Commander."
Jon walked over to Commander Trek and handed him the Padd he grabbed on the way down." Commander if we get in a fire fight we will take some damage but will win. However if he runs we may lose him his impulse drive is better then ours but we can warp faster then him."

"Excellent shot!" Nack exclaimed, excitedly. He jumped up and down at the report that the dissident ship had their shields neutralized.
"And excellent jobs, Mr. Littlewood and Mr. Park." He was unsure if Littlewood had anything to do with the quick phaser fire, but seeing him work with Park, he had put two and two together. Either way, Nack was glad that Commander Trek had chosen Littlewood as a replacement Chief Engineering Officer for the remainder of the mission. Who knew, if he worked out, perhaps he would be permanent. All fine by Nack - as he rarely thought of these things, but mostly let Commander Trek handle the personnel issues aboard the ship.
"There was a temporary feedback that damaged our forward sensor array," the secondary helmsman said, looking at Lieutenant Helacaan to ensure that it was alright that he had reported the failure.
Nack nodded his head toward Littlewood, getting his attention quickly. The Acting Ensign knew what was expected, and immediately got to work.
"Mr. Helacaan, beam their cargo to our main cargo bay, and beam all members of the crew to the brig. I want you to personally inventory the cargo in fine detail while Mr. Park and I speak to our new arrivals." Nack smirked. He was finding complete pleasure at the thought of catching the thief, and couldn't wait to rub it in Waterson's face when he returned back to Starbase Assailant.
"Mr. Park." the Captain motioned, "we have work to do." Before leaving he requested the services of Commander Rylka. "I presume you will be useful to gauge the truthfulness of their responses." he mentioned. Perhaps a counselor aboard the ship wasn't such a bad thing after all. Nack was slowly coming around to the idea.
"Number one, you have the bridge."
A few moments later, the Counselor, Chief Security Officer, and Captain entered the brig. Two of the disabled ship's crew sat in a cell, the only crew found aboard the ship. Nack motioned for Park to do his job.
"Get as much information out of them as you can. Doctor Rylka and I will be observing, but pay no attention to us." The thought of catching these thieves was exhilarating. Thieves? Didn't Waterson say there was only one? No matter, they had them now... and Nack was going to receive all the credit for finding them.

“We haven’t had much time together, lieutenant…. err… Seth. Your physical has shown some… errr… anomalies…" Lucy took a deep breath. "Okay, I’ll spit it out. Your psychological profile isn’t quite up to par.”
Lucy wasn’t the type to hem and haw but for some reason she was so intrigued by Seth Helacaan that she felt herself getting tongue-tied.
<Helacaan>
“I was wondering if you’d like to stop by my office for a short session… when the mission is over, of course. Not that you really need to…”
Oh, damn! I’m the chief of surgery. This is not the way to talk to one of the crew!
Straightening her shoulders and shaking herself internally, Lucy said with a firmness she didn‘t really feel, “Mr. Helacaan, it’s your option, but I think I should do a short session with you just for safety…. Okay?”

“We haven’t had much time together, lieutenant…. err… Seth. Your physical has shown some… errr… anomalies…" Lucy took a deep breath. "Okay, I’ll spit it out. Your psychological profile isn’t quite up to par.”
Hmm... thought Seth, She has figured that out then.. He thought that he had always displayed a fair external demeanour, and had kept his thoughts buried well. He had to do this of course, and not just so that his conduct appeared becoming of a Starfleet officer. Obviously the Doctor was a very perceptive woman. "Ok." Seth said simply, he could not think of anything more fitting. "What do you want to do Doctor?"
“I was wondering if you’d like to stop by my office for a short session… when the mission is over, of course. Not that you really need to…” Seth leered at her slightly, wondering what she was planning to say. The Doctor seemed to straighten herself, in fact, she visibly stood up taller. He knew she was free to exert authority over him. “Mr. Helacaan, it’s your option, but I think I should do a short session with you just for safety…. Okay?”
Seth flickered a smile, "Very well, I shall attend." Some of the Doctor's wording was... well, odd. He knew that she could order him to this meething and not only due to her higher rank. It was also because she was the CMO, a staff officer, who outranked all the ship on medical issues. "After I complete my duties on the bridge, I'll be right down."
<tag Grey>
The Doctor's interest in his psychological health was interesting, and also comforting. He wished to have someone to share his thoughts with, someone to help release the pressure. The ship's counselor maybe, but she was busy with Captain Nack, and did not know Seth enough yet to make a judgement on him. Doctor Lucy Grey did, or at least she seemed interest, She could be that person.
On the bridge...
"There was a temporary feedback that damaged our forward sensor array." Seth noticed the helmsman looking at him and the Wezean gave a nearly imperceptible nod. He didn't mind at all that somebody had, metaphorically, stepped on his feet. The purpose of damage status reports was to inform the Captain of the condition of the ship. That requirement had been fulfilled.
"Mr. Helacaan, beam their cargo to our main cargo bay, and beam all members of the crew to the brig. I want you to personally inventory the cargo in fine detail while Mr. Park and I speak to our new arrivals."
"Yes sir." Seth said clearly, immediately keying in the commands to execute Captain Nack's orders. "Done." He then moved from his console. There was a palpable feeling of achievement and satisfaction on the bridge, the essence of which was exuded from everyone on it. Nack looked 'extremely' pleased with himself, Seth thought. The Ops Chief went to the turbolift. The cargo bay was his next stop.

"Number one, you have the bridge."
"Aye, Captain," Dan replied as the CO, CTSO and COO left the Bridge. The relief officers took the places of the latter two.
"Lieutenant," Dan said to the Tactical Officer, "status on that cargo ship."
"Shields are offline, weapons are damaged, and no lifesigns aboard. Should we stand down from Red Alert, sir?"
"Affirmative, but maintain yellow alert. This may not be over yet," the First Officer replied.
"I don't see why not, sir," the Tactical Officer replied. "That ship is empty."
"We're dealing with thieves here, Lieutenant," Dan said, turning his chair to face him. "Never underestimate the cunning of thieves. Who knows what that ship might be programmed to do. Maintain a continuous sweep of that ship. Report the moment you spot any energy build-up that could be a weapon powering up or a self-destruct mechanism."
"Aye, sir."

Jon had moved to the tactical station after helping fix the circuit and fired the phasers disabling the ship. Helacaan tapped commands into his console and transported there crew into the brig.
"Mr. Park." the Captain motioned, "we have work to do."
Jon joined the Captain and the Counselor in the turbolift as it headed down to the belly of the ship. Jon walked a little behind the Captian as they turned and entered the brig.
The Captian told Park to act like they went there nd the first thing that went trough his head was was the Capitan giving him a chance to redeem himself from the last time.
Park walked to the first brig cell and spoke at the prisoner inside, However he got no replies.Jon walked to the next cell and the crewmamber there wes babbling to himself. Park waited a little but he continued too babble incoherently.
Jon returned to the first cell and asked "Is your fellow crew member ill? Or could he be crazy?" The alien crewman looked at Park and replied "You have attacked us and taken us against our will. I will not answer your questions. My crewman is not crazy just delirious."
Jon turned to Doctor Rylka "Do you think if we got treatment for the second crewman we will be able to question him?"

Seth flickered a smile, "Very well, I shall attend. After I complete my duties on the bridge, I'll be right down."
“Great. I look forward to the interview.”
Lucy turned away to return to her office when she realized what just happened. Since she was a counselor but not by trade, she’d bungled the request for a medical and psychological checkup. Did he think there was a personal interest? Ohhh… must get that straightened out in the first session. Well, possibly the only session.
A security petty officer stopped in front of Dr. Grey and held out a padd.
“Doctor, a message for you,” he said and walked away.
Powering the padd on, Lucy read a brief report of criminals in the brig. Excited that her little part in the plan had worked, she abandoned her plans for an inventory check and headed for the brig.

Nack pushed past Doctors Rylka and Grey, past Commander Park, and turned around to face all of them at once.
"Nonsense. If we require more motivation for them to speak, so be it."
He turned back toward the two cells. The Ferengi Captain was quite perturbed that his senior staff was so ... so ineffective .. when it came to questioning these two. He would take matters into his own hands.
"Increase forcefield intensity to four hundred terawatts."
"But sir," the brig officer bemoaned, "that will put the forcefield well into their cells."
"I wasn't made Captain due to a lack of knowledge about Starship functionality," Nack hissed back. "That is an order."
Pushing a few buttons, and ultimately running his finger up the console, the intensity was risen to a level that caused the forcefield to intersect the positions of the prisoners. The result was a slightly painful freezing of their motion. They were suspended in their last assumed positions. Due to how far back they were from the original forcefield, the newly intensified field did not penetrate their bodies. They were still able to breath - and all bodily functions were performing fine. The pain was due to the slight overheating that occurred, since the body was unable to sweat under this condition.
Nack had seen this done before on a holodeck. It involved less virtuous motives on Ferenginar, and a Ferengi associate. It wasn't something he ever thought he would repeat, but in the effort to catch this thief, he was willing to do a bit more than usual.
"Lower the field slightly." the Captain said. "I want them to be able to move a little, so they can talk."
The field was subsequently lowered until one of the captives could be seen moving his head back and forth, albeit slowly.
"Do you wish to speak now?" Nack asked, showing the pleasure he had in his work. This wasn't torture. It was just uncomfortable for the two brig guests.
The one nodded.
"One of my senior officers has confirmed that you have a few stolen items." Nack tapped a padd of information from Lieutenant Helacaan. He read through it for the first time, as the information was continually arriving as Helacaan inventoried it.
Interesting, the items on the list weren't the items that were listed as stolen by Norel. They were, however, medical supplies. The part that was the most complexing was that this particular ship did not have any time to offload their materials. If they did, there would have been a second ion trail.
The brig tenant just nodded, slowly due to the forcefield.
"Where did you offload the supplies from Yavin III?"
"We ... Di....dn't ... Ta...ke ... an...y...thing ... from ... Ya...vin ... III" he spoke out of breath and raspy due to the dryness of his mouth. "We ... on...ly ... trad...ed ... for ... the ... heart ... and ... left."
Likely story, Nack thought, as he signaled for the field to be lowered slightly. It became annoying to wait so long for a response, but the pseudo-stasis still remained.
"Then where can I find the medical supplies? I don't suppose you know who stole them."
The inmate shook his head slowly "no".
Nack immediately turned to the other prisoner, who, until now, was standing motionless within his force fielded cell.
"You, do you know?"
"I'll only .. speak .. if .. you .. let us .. go"
"No!" the other inmate yelled awkwardly. "You know .. we'll .. be .. killed!"
"We will .. not kill you!" Nack yelled back. He found his speech slowed down; a subconscious effort to communicate effectively.
"Not you fool." the prisoner that was willing to speak, said back to Nack. "Her! .. the Thief .. Waterson"
Nack signaled for the field to be immediately dropped. Both of the thieves fell to the ground and panted.
"Say that again!" Nack demanded. He hushed up the commotion of the three officers behind him by waving his hand behind him.
"Waterson... we've been hitting the same places." He made a few coughs, "the same places she hits. We slip and in steal while she has security down."
The other inmate was wreathing in anger, for he feared for his life for this betrayal of this thief. Nack ordered his field be turned back on, as it became annoying.
"I will give you your freedom if you tell me everything I wish to know." Nack replied, pleased with himself. "Well Well," he thought. "So I was right after-all."
On the bridge "Mr. Park, please write a full report for Starfleet Command." The last two hours were spent interrogating the thief that was willing to talk. He was subsequently released. The other, the one who didn't talk, was still in the brig.
"Be sure to include that we released the smaller fish in order to catch the bigger one." The Internal Thief, would be the big catch.
"Helm, take us back to Yavin III. We need to find where the shuttlecraft that Waterson was on went."
Nack let out a deep sigh. "Commander Rylka, based on the testimony of our informant, and with what you've witnessed while Waterson has been onboard, I would like to have a complete psychological profile... specifically, what her weaknesses might be, would be helpful."
Finally, turning to Lieutenant Helacaan, he asked, "And if you could please get back into contact with Manager Norel, and give her the latest version of events... I would appreciate it."
The Ferengi Captain walked up to his chair and sat down, next to Commander Trek.
"Don't worry, I won't have your badge for this one. She fooled all of us... I was right, but for the wrong reasons." It was rare for Nack to admit he was wrong.
"I better get down to sickbay." Nack said rubbing his neck. "I want a second opinion on my wounds," the wounds obtained from his latest heart attack --- or now, who knows what it was.
"You have the bridge again, Commander" Nack said as he left for sickbay. "Notify me when we arive."

"Odd."
Seth had said it aloud because he did not understand. His transporting of the ship's stolen supplies into the cargo bay had strewn it all over the floor. The inventory he had been building up for the last thirty minutes had grown slowly, but this was not the thing he didn't understand.
The thing the colonist could not fathom was that the cargo they had confiscated was 'not' what had been stolen from Yavin III. Seth stopped to set his PADD up for a continuous data stream to the Captain's corresponding PADD he had taken to the brig. These supplies were clearly stolen though. The Nevada would impound the ship all the same. He grunted as he took another entry on the PADD. Seth was thinking of the Nevada like it was a boarder patroller, preventing crimes on the edge of Federation space. Well, they sure do need a ship out there somewhere, preferably around the Canis Major Delta area...
He went to the bridge upon finishing the inventory. Seth could feel that things were starting to wind down. They had captured the ship's crew, taken 'some supplies' from them, who knew what their origin...
5 minutes later...
"And if you could please get back into contact with Manager Norel, and give her the latest version of events... I would appreciate it."
Seth didn't say anything at first, all he knew was that his head was spinning too fast. He kept his eyes on Nack for a bit longer, "Are you sure about Dr. Waterson sir?" It was the first time Seth had questioned a superior officer. It wasn't a confronting question though, just a gentle inquiry.
He wasn't sure about all of this. Yes, Captain Nack had told him to keep an eye on Waterson before, but Seth had never really believed Waterson was anything other than she appeared, he had tried to do the job that Nack had given him, that was all.
"I'll contact Manager Norel again then." Why did he always get him to do that job? After the last communication between him and the Romulan, Seth wasn't sure she would be quite so pleased to see him.
He would have to see... just like he would have to see what happened when they again reached Yavin III, Seth had a feeling that things were not over yet. But then, after that, he could go and see Doctor Grey. And then he would rest... and think.

Tristan was relieved when the weapons actually fired at the other vessel when the captain ordered it, Tristan wouldn’t say anything but he wasn’t entirely sure his repair efforts accomplished anything. But after the weapons fired the captain glanced over at Tristan with a satisfied smile and Tristan let out a sigh of relief. Tristan Littlewood was less happy when he heard the second helmsman said.
"There was a temporary feedback that damaged our forward sensor array,"
Captain Nack looked over at Ensign Littlewood and nodded, Tristan immediately knew the Captain wanted it fixed as soon as possible, Tristan turned and headed toward the turbolift.
Tristan Littlewood arrived in engineering to find people rushing from work station to work station, they all had looks of intense concentration plastered on their faces, Tristan stood in front of the warp core and yelled out.
“Everyone listen up as you probably know already I am the new chief engineer we will do introductions later for now I will say I look forward to working with you, I won’t lie to you there will be a shakeup in staff some transfers and some promotions, but we will get into that later our first priority is to get the forward sensor array back online, Let’s get to work people.”
Tristan walked toward the power distribution console and began the work of fixing the sensors.
“Tristan to captain Nack sensors will be back on line within half an hour I wouldn’t suggest firing weapons again anytime soon it will cause further damage to the system.”

“I’m so sorry, Admiral. The shuttle has been having some mechanical errors, and obviously I’m no engineer. However, the Romulans have been extremely helpful in getting the ship operational again. I should be underway within a day or so, but I believe you have all the relevant information from the investigation. I’m just sorry I couldn’t be of more help,” Lisa provided quietly, glancing down at her hands folded in her lap with an expression that was a mixture of frustration and exhaustion.
The officer on the other end of the comm ran his fingers through his white hair and sighed heavily. “No, Commander, you have nothing to apologize for. You have been warning us from day one that this guy was the best, an absolute pro, and a genius. You were entirely right, and if he hadn’t switched tactics yet again you would have had him. I guess it’s just not our time, but we will catch him. One day he will make a mistake; they all do. It’s only a matter of time.”
Wearing a grim tight lipped smile, Lisa nodded. “Of course, Admiral; I will let you know when I’m underway and give you an estimate as to when I will arrive back on base. I should see you before next week; Waterson out.”
As the comm channel closed, the doctor/administrator/investigator slumped back into her chair, the smile fading fast but the exhaustion just as pronounced. It was a hard job, a much harder job than she thought it would be. With a heavy sigh, Lisa glanced out at the stars streaking by and rechecked her destination. She was still on the right course. Reaccessing the comm and opening a channel, the Commander’s expression hardened as she waited to be acknowledged.
A few moments later and a green, female face appeared on the small screen. “I wasn’t expecting to hear from you so soon, Doctor. I had assumed you would still be busy with Starfleet Intelligence,” the woman greeted coldly, arms crossed over her chest and her eyes an icy blue. There was no trace of a smile.
Smiling, but just as cold, Lisa replied, “I managed to create a diversion that gives me a few days time. And since I had access to a shuttle, I figured I’d take this opportunity to stop by and transfer my cut, save you a trip. After all, I did manage to allow us to get away with almost everything of value in that entire facility.”
Flipping her long dark hair over her shoulder, the Orion woman smiled now, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Do not forget that we were the ones who deactivated their surveillance systems which made it possible for you to tag everything, and it was my ship that beamed everything aboard and had to evade any detection.”
Pushing back her anger, Doctor Waterson responded as calmly as possible. “Without my knowledge of their medical systems, your team wouldn’t have been able to do its job, and without me and my cover, no one could have gained access to place all those isolinear tags. Even without your assistance I could have pulled this job off using the Nevada, but this way was even safer. You never could have come anywhere near to successfully robbing that place without me.”
“Perhaps,” the woman conceded, twirling a long curly lock of hair around her green finger, “…but we have all the medical supplies and we did more than our share of the work. I think it’s only fair that the cuts should reflect the change.”
Slamming her fist down on the console, Lisa exploded, “We had a deal, Tiriana. The same deal we’ve had for months. I’ve done nearly all the work on all the previous jobs and the cuts remained the same. I was perfectly willing to do this job myself, but agreed that the chances were slightly better with assistance, but that didn’t mean a change in how the profit was split. You agreed to that.”
“Well maybe I’ve changed my mind,” Tiriana calmly announced, examining her perfect fingernails as if they held far greater interest than Lisa. “After all…”
“I don’t think so, you green witch,” Lisa shot back, causing the Orion’s eyes to darken perceptively, even through the viewscreen. “We’ll see what Borel has to say about this, and even with your ‘special relationship’ with him, you know he’ll side with me. I’ve brought him more profit coming from this market than he could have ever imagined by himself. And you know money talks louder than…”
“Borel listens to me,” the tall, green woman hissed. I’m his second in command, his right arm, by his side for the past eight years, day after day…”
“Night after night,” Lisa added sarcastically, her eyes narrowing dangerously at the Orion on the other side of the screen. “Money still talks louder. He loses you, and he can find the same thing for a few strips of latinum. He loses me, and his profit margin declines. Which do you think means more to him, hm? Do you really want to test his priorities? You know perfectly well where they truly lie.”
Tiriana remained silent, her now dark blue eyes boring through the screen into Lisa’s, but the doctor didn’t flinch. Finally, the Orion swallowed hard, her chin tilting in defiance in spite of a slight slump in her shoulders. “I’ll prepare a transfer for your arrival,” she agreed coldly, hate shooting from every inch of her face.
Smiling calmly, Lisa replied, “Thank you. I shall arrive within the next few hours. Borel doesn’t tolerate any delays and neither will I. I need to get back as soon as possible so that I don’t raise any suspicion. Have the shipment ready by the time I get there and transported immediately upon my arrival; Waterson out.”
As the screen went dark, erasing the image of the furious Orion, the Commander leaned back in the chair, her eyes alight with victory. It may have been more difficult to deal with thugs than with medical administrators and Starfleet officers, but Lisa knew what she was doing and was perfectly adept at handling them. After all, you didn’t become the ‘Internal Thief,’ a name she rather liked, without acquiring a few extra skills. Life, and business, was certainly good.

As Commander park started to explain what was going on to Doctor Grey. Captain nack took charge and interrogated the prisoners. a few hours later Park escorted the Prisoner who had cooperated in the end to the transporter room so her could leave. Arriving on the bridge the captain told him to write a report to starfleet command.
Park moved to the aft Tactical station to get a clue what has happened since the beginning of the mission. He wanted to have as much info for starfleet as possible.
The captain was thinking he had been drugged for sure given what the informant said so he headed to sickbay for a more intensely given exam.
Park was waiting for the the results so he could include them in the report but so far after everything that was said and written in the report he believed waterson was the person they were after since before the captain had been sent to sickbay the second time. Park had finished most of the report when sensor located the shuttle Waterson had used.
"Commander Trek the shuttle we lent to Commander waterson has just come into sensor range." Park tapped a few buttons. "I am picking up her life signs onboard."

"Commander Trek, the shuttle we lent to Commander Waterson has just come into sensor range." Park tapped a few buttons. "I am picking up her life signs onboard."
"Noted, Commander, thank you. Maintain yellow alert," he said. "She doesn't yet know that we know. I don't want to tip her off."
"Lieutenant Nevets," Dan said, turning to the Science Officer. "Once that shuttle enters the necessary sensor range, begin a detailed scan of it. I want some clue as to where Waterson has been."
"Commander Park, I want you to watch Commander Waterson like a hawk from the moment she returns onboard. Do so with internal sensors, obviously, I don't want her tipped off."
Finally, Dan tapped his commbadge. "Commander Trek to Ensign Littlewood. Ensign, when Commander Waterson's shuttle returns, I want you to check that shuttle's logs, and find out where she's been."

Seth swung into the chair in the Ops room once more. By this stage he had set up an old-fashioned "speed-dial" system. All he did was hit a button and the image of the Romulan popped up on the viewscreen, so that's what he did.
"Seth!" Norel was surprised to see him to say the least. "I mean, Lieutenant Helacaan.. it is pleasing to hear from you again." She seemed to straighten in Seth's eyes, she also swallowed and cleared her throat.
Allowing himself a tight smile, Seth replied. "As it is for me to see you Manager." He was pleased to see her, he'd sort of missed the upright, offshoot of a Vulcanian. "I bear news."
"Yes?"
"It would appear," Seth paused just enough to show to Norel that he didn't really agree with what he was about to say, "That Commander Waterson.. was at least partially responsible for the robbing of the hospital."
"What?" Seth sat back in the seat and nodded to himself, finding himself yawning at the same time. He had expected a reaction of this type. His own had been similar. "This cannot be possible." Actually it made a lot of sense, but it was something Seth didn't want to admit to be true. Waterson had been so sure that this would be the facility hit, was extremely organised and proficient with what she did... it made sense. She was the 'Thief' or somebody in association with him/her, if they actually existed at all.
It disappointed him if he was honest with himself. Seth had come to the Federation with a premeditated and not-thought-through vision that all the people that worked in Starfleet were callous and ignorant. So now that they had 'apparently' found a not completely upstanding member of the Federation, why was he so shocked? Perhaps it was because he had got to know his new shipmates for what they really were, good people. Now that 'bad fruit' had been thrown into the mix... it had thrown Seth's mindset, again. What was the real truth exactly?
"It's the truth. Apparently..." Seth said.
"Hmm.." Norel's expression seemed to change through the usual phases after a shock. But instead of returning to normal, the end result was that she was now quite angry. "I do not believe this!" She visibly shook as she spat the words, her fury barely contained.
Seth was worried, what was next? He felt sympathetic, embarrassed and unhappy all at the same time. He settled for what he assumed was seen as an understanding nod. "Ok." He said, "We are nearly back to Yavin III, but I believe we will pursue Waterson before we reach the planet."
"Understood, Norel out." The viewscreen was replaced by black, Seth closed the channel on his end and left the room.
For the first time, Seth turned to shipwide departmental matters. The forward sensor array had been damaged and while the responsibility for fixing it lay with Engineering, it did have an affect on Seth's department. He thought it would be a good idea to head to Engineering. Seth had not been in Engineering once in fact, not in his entire time on the Nevada. It was also give him a chance to acquaint with the new CEO, Acting Ensign Littlewood. Seth had himself been an Acting Ensign, not so long ago infact. Maybe it would be good to see the position from an outside perspective? I may even learn something... he thought. The imparting of knowledge could work both ways as well of course...
"Ensign Littlewood?"
Seth had entered Engineering and now stood behind Littlewood, who promptly turned upon hearing his surname. "Lieutenant Helacaan, Operations Chief." Seth introduced himself first, before simply inquiring about the sensors, "How are they coming Ensign, I'll remind you I have need of those sensors." Seth added a smile to his remark, trying to lighten the mood straight away. After all, it was only polite for a Starfleet officer.

Tristan Littlewood stood in engineering at the main power console trying to find the reason the weapons system had such an effect on the sensors, Tristan suspected that when he and Commander Park re-routed power to the weapons systems on the bridge a circuit somewhere must have overloaded and sent an overload in power to the sensor array the problem was easy enough to fix but it would only happen again unless he could find the faulty circuit.
Tristan’s eyes began to ache and he took of his glasses for a moment and rubbed his eyes, He had refused to get medical treatment for them because his parents raised him as a traditionalist and he had a tendency to snub modern medicine in favour of solutions of the past, Tristan had grown used to the glasses over the years and liked the fact that they were rare to see.
"Ensign Littlewood?"
Tristan spun around and replaced his glasses so he could see who was talking to him.
"Lieutenant Helacaan, Operations Chief." Seth introduced himself first, before simply inquiring about the sensors, "How are they coming Ensign, I'll remind you I have need of those sensors." Seth added a smile
Tristan held out his hand and said.
“nice to meet you sir but please call me Tristan and as for the sensors we are having trouble tracking down the source of the problem you see there is a fualty circuit somewhere that interacts with the weapons and sensors looks like I need to crawl around the Jefferies tubes, I know the circuit is on deck two but not the exact location”
Tristan thought for a second before asking.
“Would you mind at taking a look at the power systems with me sir” Tristan pointed to the power console. “You would know the power systems of the ship better than I, Too bad starships don’t come with an owner’s manual hey”
Jack smiled as he ended the sentence with a joke he didn’t want to seem like the usual scared and uptight acting ensigns the crew see a lot of the time.

Before Park could answer Lucy's question, Captain Nack entered. Lucy stood in silent fury as the Ferengi tortured the prisoners. As a Starfleet officer, it was his prerogative to do so. It was up to the CMO to treat those he injured -if he did- and keep her mouth shut.
An interminable time later, it was over. Without speaking, Dr. Grey turned and walked out of the cell. Clenching her fingers into fists, she held them against her thighs.
|Sickbay
Ten minutes of pacing later, Lucy felt she would be able to talk to Nack about his methods without yelling. Before she could leave her office, the man himself entered her domain.
<Nack>
Lucy's voice was cool when she said, "Put on the robe. I'll do an EKG."
It wouldn't do for a patient to be read the riot act just before a checkup and what if he did have a serious heart problem? Lucy waited patiently for Nack to don the robe then pressed the keys that would bring up the last test results.
<Nack>
"I'm checking that now," she said.

"...I know the circuit is on deck two but not the exact location”
Seth had leant on the side of a console as Littlewood had talked. Maybe because he felt able to take it easy around a subordinate officer. Littlewood paused before adding,
“Would you mind at taking a look at the power systems with me sir? You would know the power systems of the ship better than I,"
Well that's debatable, Seth almost said it. He wasn't sure it was in his interests to help find the root of the problem. Yes, the operation of the sensors was his responsibility. But the majority of his thought told him that he would be content if the sensors simply worked. It was a lazy attitude maybe, but Seth didn't know how else to think, it was not his fault.
Too bad starships don’t come with an owner’s manual hey” the CEO joked. The man smiled, his glasses gave him an old-fashioned quality that Seth quite liked.
"Yes.. that is too bad," Seth said, smiling a little. Littlewood seemed eager to get on with his job, looking full of vigor and enthusiasm. Seth knew it as trying to make a good impression, which in itself was a good thing. "Very well, Ensign. Let's get to it."
The two made their way to deck two. "I will confess to you Ensign," Seth said as they walked down one of the single circumferential corridor of deck two, "I am not as familiar with the power systems as you may think." Littlewood looked across at him as he walked, Seth could tell that Littlewood had picked up the subtle humour in his voice. "However," he continued, "I'm sure with the two of us working at it we can track this circuit down." Seth laughed a little as he opened up a hatch to a Jefferies' Tube. He stood to the side and Littlewood climbed in.
Seth started scanning on his tricorder as he crawled along inside the Tube. After several tens of metres, the device started bleeping loudly, "Well, I think we've found our burned out circuit."
