Kaylee got the message late, and the ship left without her. She realized she would either have to wait or find some way to get to her assignment. Lee didn't want to wait, and found it was easy to get a shuttle to take her. Someone was passing by them to deliver something, and she made sure she was on it.

A little later, they were approaching the ship.

After the shuttle left, and she was finally aboard, Lee worked her way to her quarters and dropped her bag on her new bed. She headed for the turbolift to see the captain of this fine vessel.


Once on the bridge, Lee walked over to the center seat and stood at attention. "Ensign Kaylee Daniels reporting for duty."

"Ariennye greeted ensign daniels welcome aboard the Uss Victory C if you follow me ensign i will get you settled in.

"Ariennye waited for the ensign to follow her to the turbolift so she could show the ensign to her quarters .

"Ariennye however was thinking about the counselor she just seen which she was not so found of well because the counseler has telepathic ablitys which she not to found of.

"She how ever was now going have to go to sickbay for a check up which was another she hated to do but however she did it without complaint.

"Thank you, but I have already found my quarters. Perhaps you could show me where I will be working?" She asked as nicely as possible. She thought about fluttering her eyelashes, but thought better not to.

"Where would that be?" The other woman said.

"Sickbay," was the response, and it seemed to take the other woman by surprise.

"You also have the upper hand here, you know my name, but I don't know who you are," she said hoping not to get into trouble for speaking out of turn.

Nika was more than a little disturbed to find out that a member of the crew had been left behind, but fortunately the Assistant Medical Officer was able to find a shuttle to carry her to the Victory. Nika was in the ready room when Ensign Daniels arrived at the bridge, so Nika finished up the PADD she was working on before leaving the ready room. She noticed Marine Captain Nokomis talking to the new ensign, and decided to let them talk a little more before she walked over.

“Welcome aboard,” Nika said. “I'm Acting Captain Cir'Kem.” It still felt awkward to say that, but if she went around introducing herself as Nika while she was on duty it would defy most Starfleet regulations she had seen.

Nika handed Ensign Daniels a PADD. “Our mission briefing is here, if you have any questions, about the mission or anything else, feel free to ask me or another member of the crew.” Nika smiled warmly at the new officer, and at Ariennye, thanking her silently for welcoming aboard Kaylee Daniels.

Ariennye spoke "computer Sickbay" was ariennye response, and it seemed to take the other woman by surprise.

"Of course ariennye hated having checkup she new they were needed she thought about what needed to be tooken care of for security an her marines.

Lee listened as they walked to sickbay, and finally they were there. She wanted to look around, but knew duty first.

"Come, up on the biobed," she said and grabbed a tricorder. She started to run some scans.

"Nurse, I will need a padd over here, a blank one," she ordered, and one was handed her promptly. She put the tricorder down after a few minutes, and wrote something on the padd.

"Nurse, save these reading to the computer," she ordered, and the nurse left with the tricorder. Lee looked up from her padd to the person in front of her.

"Have you had any illnesses I should know about? How about allergies? Lastly, what serious injuries have you had before that I should know about? I only ask because I might have to operate on you or give you medicine where these questions would be relevant, and you could be out cold when I need the response," she said quickly.

"Come, up on the biobed ariennye got on the biobed as told," as ensign daniel said as she grabbed a tricorder. She started to run some scans.

Nika sat on the bridge, ready for anything that might happen. Unfortunately nothing did seem to be happening, and ship rosters and the like became boring after the first thirty seconds, but they had to be done.

Commander Rylka also didn't seem to have much to do, and after acknowledging the status report from Commander Matthew, the Operations officer, Tiffani asked for permission to leave the bridge and check on her daughter. Nika granted it instantly, since she could see why Tiffani would want to spend time now with her daughter, since things might turn hectic later.

“We're within hailing range of the science station,” one of the bridge officers, Lieutenant Commander Jameson informed Nika.

Nika nodded. “Hail them,” she replied, and waited patiently for the hail to be answered. She wasn't sure what she was going to say, besides assure the scientists that help was on it way and tell them to prepare to be picked up by the Victory.

The flicker of consoles and equipment lighted up the dark room that was her office. PADD's littered the room and it wasn't worth picking up. If everything went as planned, she would go down in history as one of the greatest scientist of all time.

This was her lives work and she would not allow anyone to stop her. Her actions would condemn her in the eyes of the law, but she was there expand scientific knowledge.

"Dr. the sun is stabilizing, results of the test will be ready in a few hours," Dr. Priya reported as soon as she walked into her office.

"Good, hopefully the modifications we performed will give us the wanted results," Lillian responded.

"Yes, it was unfortunate that Bryan died during our last test," Priya.

"Yes, his death has caused an unwanted effect," Lillian remarked," I've been told that a ship is coming to pick us up. They think we are in danger."

"Well we are going to have to convince them otherwise aren't we," Priya snickered.

The news that a Federation ship would shortly arrive at Vyimi was disconcerting. Starfleet Captains had the tendency to always get involved. She would have to deal with the ship's captain with caution.

A week later

It was just like any other day, her team of scientist were performing test, gathering data, and inputing the results into the computer. But this was no ordinary day, today would be the day that her final test would be performed. The Vyimi sun was ready, all it needed was a catalyst and that catalyst was her.

"Dr. are sensors are showing a ship, it has just entered orbit," a male scientist reported," they are hailing us."

"Which ship is it?" Lillian asked.

"The Victory," the scientist responded.

"Open channel," Lillian ordered," I am Dr. Lillian Diego, head scientist of the Vyimi II colony, what can we do for you?"

"Ariennye had finish up with her checkup just was waiting on results she was free to go back to work until she got her results.

"Ariennye left sickbay she head off towards the nearest turbo lift enter the turbolift

"The computer chirp to life then the turbolift desended to the bridge an then came to the stop,"Ariennye exit the turbo lift headed to the tactical station.

"Ariennye waiting to see what the captain was going to say to the scientist while she ran intenal scans an then sensor scans.

"Ariennye thought herself hm looks like all well on the ship ,but i have bad feeling about this scientist ariennye tried to shake off the bad feeling but she could not.

"I going to be all over this scientist theres just something about her i really don't like maybe i am just losing it but just to be on the safe side i think i going to tighten security further.

"I don't want the scientist be able to breathe easy around here 2nd lt miller you have tactical.
"Ariennye headed off the bridge.

"She head off to tighten the security futher as if could get any tighter but of course ariennye manage to do just that.

"Ariennye was not about to take any risk with security , ariennye begain to think about what it was that is about scientist that bug her.


I going to talk to the commander about this that scientist is bad news not just becuase she a
scientist.

"But because there just a bad feeling it the same type of feeling she had when she felt there waas something wrong with her family.

“Cmdr Matthew returned from the holo-suite covered in sweat. He relived his assistant and sat down in his office. He noticed a message left for him and opened it up. Dr, Rodgers left him a message while he was exercising in the holosuite.

“ James toweled off his face and tapped his com badge, "Cmdr Matthew to Dr, Rodgers."

“James , who was Now sipping at his third cup of coffee for the day ‘
Sickbay Dr, Rodgers Speaking “

“I just got your message about coming in for my General Physical . I may need to reschedule I have a lot on my plate at this time ‘

“Dr, Rodgers : Commander I been down this road before with officers who just keep changing There Appointment again and again commander if you don’t get this done I will have to remove you from Active Duty roaster to avowed this I need for you to come to the sickbay at your earliest convenience?"

“Cmdr Matthew: I understand Doctor “
"Yes Doc , I will grab a quick shower and meet you in Sickbay in 15 minutes."

James hoped in the shower and put his uniform on, throwing his dirty
clothes in the laundry. He made his way to Main Sickbay.

James arrived at the Main door of the Sickbay on the bridge and made his way over to the ready room,
and buzzed the door.

“Dr, Rodgers set the PADD he was reading down on the desk. "Enter!"

James walked in front of the Chief medical officer Desk ok Doc let get this over with I have a lone day a Head of me

"Thank you " James took a seat across from the Doctor desk.

"Open channel," Lillian ordered," I am Dr. Lillian Diego, head scientist of the Vyimi II colony, what can we do for you?"

"Ariennye went up Commander Tiffani Rylka-Savali with her report in hand there was also message she put in there for the Commander Tiffani Rylka-Savali that ariennye want to speak with her.

"She did not want the scientist to think that she up to something came with her report but also with a message that she need to talk with commander Tiffani Rylka-Savali .

"In the report she show that she had manage tighter the security further also got all the weapons from the cargo bays lock up in the armory as well as the weapons lockers.

"An also had the cargo put in order so thing could be found easy you could tell she did not let all her men do work she to join in on the efforts.

Ian pulled the ship out of warp nine as Vyimi II came into view. Ian pressed a few buttons on the helm controls to set up an orbit over the planet. Ian looked around from his seat at the helm as the Victory had entered orbit over the colony, wondering if he was needed on the bridge at the moment, considering Ian had set up an orbit. He shook his head and thought to himself, 'No, you have to stay on the bridge, you can go to the holodeck at any time.' He looked around again, hoping there weren't any empaths on the bridge that could hear his thoughts. He turned back to the controls and waited for any new orders.

Ariennye then head back to tactical station she begain run sensor scans an internal scans
she was pick up something rather odd in the scan ,

"Ariennye thought to herself i going run a dianostic to see if this right at all ariennye begain dianostic well i think better have engineering check this out.

"Ariennye spoke 2nd lt johnson you have tactical station ariennye head off to engineering to see if they can explain the readings

"She just got ,she handed info to chief engineering officer to see what he could make of it .

[glow=blue,2,300]As it was Johns first day aboard he thought it was best to go and take a look at the main security areas such as the brig, the bridge and the amoury.

Johns first port of call was the armory, it was just like the HEPTA's just with more weapons and more advanced weaponry. The old compresion rifle which he had used on the hepta had been relaced withe the compression riffle MK 2. abd there was a holodeck there wasn't on the hepta.

The brig was a smaller than John had exepected, no one was in there, so john left quite quickly.

John then headed up to the brig, and meet his new Comanding officer for the first time, "Hello sir, I am the new CTSO" she repllied by saying hello and then showing me the Tactical console.

It was mich like the heptas, John ran a few scans of the ships weopns and defences systems, it was basicly the Hepta, just with a few more toys to play with.[/glow]

She mainly told him what each console on the bridge was for, and gave John a few charetoristics of the ship and her crew.

"were is the crew quaters I would like to go rest I have come strait from the Hepta and thought it would be best to report in, but in brief please could you tell me what the mission is?" john asked politly[/glow]

The planet in the viewscreen grower larger as the Victory approached looked bleak and unfriendly, and Nika was only barely able to make out the enclosed dome the scientists inhabited when the image cut to a person, the head scientist, Nika presumed. Before Nika had a chance to speak the woman did so instead. " I am Dr. Lillian Diego, head scientist of the Vyimi II colony, what can we do for you?"

“I'm Acting Captain Cir'kem of the Victory, and my ship was sent by Starfleet Command, who have informed me of...” Nika paused, thinking about how she wanted to respond next. “..disturbing solar activity, which is jeopardizing the lives of your scientists. The Victory is here to offer its assistance,” Nika said, then, deciding that she didn't really need a reply to that, continued. “How soon can you have your people ready to go?” she asked.

Nika noticed another officer enter the bridge and walk to the Security/Tactical station. She couldn't greet him now, although she wanted to, since she assumed he was the new CTSO, Ensign Roberts, she had been told was on his way, but she didn't have a spare moment now. Instead, she hoped she would catch him later.

The Victory is here to offer its assistance,” Nika said, then, deciding that she didn't really need a reply to that, continued. “How soon can you have your people ready to go?” she asked.

This could not be any worse for her research. This Acting Captain would want to impress her superiors, so she would be more meddling than the usual idiots that ran starships. They had no vision of what she was trying to do and if they found out they would surely shut her down. For now she would have to thread carefully. Destroying a Starfleet ship would be easy, but if she did that, Starfleet would be crawling in the sector in a matter of weeks.

Her research would be complete by then, but not the prototype. It would take a few more weeks and test for her work to be complete.

"Captain Cir'Kem, I'm sorry that the Science Council troubled you with this," Lillian said offering her most sincerest smile," the lost of Doctor Manning was regrettable, but it was because of our own carelessness. As for the solar flares, they are still far away enough from us to continue our research."

"So what are you saying Dr.?" Captain Cir'Kem asked.

"That even though we appreciate your assistance it is not required," Lillian said," I will contact the Council and inform them that everything is in order. So you are free to go and do more important things."

Lillian cut off the transmission and screamed in frustration. She knew that the ship would not leave so easily. They never did and she could not deny them access to her facility.

"I want you to encrypt all of our research," Lillian said speaking to one of her assistants," all of it."

"Doctor the Captain is hailing again."

Lee finished up with the marine captain's physical pronouncing her fit as a fiddle. She went back to work, and then a male came into sickbay, and she continued in the physicals with those around.

Suddenly the man came out of the office, and held a padd out to her. She read it quickly, and patted the biobed. Lee scanned him, which only took a couple of minutes.

"Is there anything I should know about in your medical history, illnesses, allergies, and the such?" She asked.

A little bit later after she was done with Commander Matthews physical, she looked at a list of people who still had yet to come down. She noticed the captain was among them, but she didn't want to push for that one just yet. She knew what a stickler captains could be about avoiding their physicals.

Lee noticed there was a new member to the crew.

Nika thought about what the scientist had said before she cut the channel. She was apparently free to 'do more important things.' More important things than the lives of these scientists? Nika wondered. She had a suspicion that Dr. Diego was hiding something, and the abruptness of the cut channel surprised even Nika. If the doctor had wanted to demonstrate that all was well, the way to allay suspicions was generally not to hide information. If Nika had been the head of the base she probably would have shared her research that showed the sun really wasn't an issue. But it was an issue, which was probably why Dr. Diego hadn't been able to give any proof backing up her statements.

“Hail the base again,” Nika ordered.

“Captain, I thought I told you everything you need to know,” Dr. Diego replied as the screen opened.

“Yes, but a basic close range scan shows that the solar flares will shortly be threatening your colony. I don't care how important your research seems, it's not worth anyone's death,” Nika informed the head scientist.

“There won't be any more deaths,” Dr. Diego replied. “Doctor Manning's death was unfortunate, but I assure you, there isn't room for a similar mistake to occur.”

Nika nodded, but she wasn't convinced. “Just the same, the Science Council is convinced your colony is in danger, and until you manage to convince them otherwise the Victory will be around to help you.”
