"Let us just say that they still do not trust me and that my credibility is worth very little at present," Tedak replied neutrally, though internally he was fuming, "I am released because they could not prove anything, but I am still suspect. At the tiniest shred of evidence I am sure that I shall be arrested again."
The Romulan diplomat took a step closer to the senator, while he kept an eye on the guard. He hadn't anticipated a guard being there, but he now called himself a fool for not thinking about the possebility. He was also unarmed, and he felt really naked without his trusted weapon.
"I want my blade back," he said calmly, holding out his hand, "and you claim I have no honour. What honourable person kidnaps an innocent child, someone who cannot defend himself. What honour is in that?"
He took another step closer, and didn't miss the guard's hand closing around the butt of his disruptor. "My property please," he insisted, "hand it back and I shall not hinder your departure, and I shall not make mention of this to the Praetor."
~I won't, but Admiral Magellan or Admiral Drew will~ he thought privately, smiling wanly at the Senator. "I doubt you will want to face the consequences if you don't give me back my property. And I also doubt that you will kill me, for I will be missed sooner or later, and they will know who killed me instantly."
He paused, taking yet another step forward. He stood now squarely in front of the Senator, his still outstretched hand just barely touching her chest. "Mnhei'sahe is involved. I would prefer not to kill you senator, but if mnhei'sahe demands it of me, then I shall."

Krotak laughed loud and repulsively, "You really are weak. you have no stamina no true heart. Here... here is your pitiful blade" Krotak withdrew the blade from a sleeve and tossed it over, "You Ambassador and your family are finished. i can assure you that." "I care little for your assurances, you will get yours" "Bah, I quake at your threats, after all you said it yourself it takes only a small amount for Starfleet to lock you up for a very long time." Tedak scowled, "well good luck Ambassador, I can leave in the morning my mission accomplished. I used your...antics as a distraction to extract Jak'dors comm logs. I know where the rebel debrune are and so do my superiors, and hopefully you will be locked up for a long time."
<Tag Tedak>
"I take your empty threats for what they are. Now as Senator I ask you one last thing. Here are the latest Romulan Reports ensure they are uploaded to the Embassy Computer immediatly. If you don't the Senate will lockyou up even if Starfleet doesnt."
<Tag Tedak>
"Good by Ambassador"
Krotak waited a moment for Tedak to leave and then went into the bedroom. She rummaged through a draw and extracted a PaDD and the holo mask, "Now for the final nail in the coffin" she hummed to herself.

"You may yet have your wish," Tedak said quietly as he caught the blade that was tossed to him. He felt the sharp edge cut the palm of his hand but he bit back a response to the stinging pain. Grinding his teeth as he slid the blade into its sheath, he turned towards the senator. "However, I sincerely doubt that you will locate the Debrune. By now, the Debrune will be warned of our....actions, and they will be relocated."
He paused for a short moment. "And I very much doubt that you will leave this station alive. Starfleet command will not let you leave, I promise you, even though I will stick to my promise and will not stop you from leaving the station." ~and only leaving the station, after that, I will hunt you down~
"I take your empty threats for what they are. Now as Senator I ask you one last thing. Here are the latest Romulan Reports ensure they are uploaded to the Embassy Computer immediatly. If you don't the Senate will lockyou up even if Starfleet doesnt."
"I don't think so," Tedak said, ignoring the outstretched hand, "I will not upload Romulan propaganda to the embassy computer. The only thing I will upload is Romulan truth, not senate lies. You may take your reports and take it to the senate. I am not a puppet that you can make dance around as you please."
"Good by Ambassador"
"Goodbye senator," Tedak said, and turned his back on her as he gracefully strode out of her quarters. The first thing he would do was take the blade to Magellan to have him investigate it.

Krotak motioned for her guard to follow Tedak and departed her room, she made her way first to a busy bar and entered the bathroom. There she pulled out the holo mask and emerged as Gallamite. She wound her way back through the crowds and out into the Arcade. Carefully, aware that someone may just have been able to follow her she made several turns and used every trick she knew to throw off pursuit. Then assured there was nothing more to do she made the final leg of her journey.
She took a turbolift down into the depths of Assailant to teh industrial units. She passed unit after unit before stopping before a derelict factory section. Tapping in a code she carefully entered. This unit was a covert Tal Shiar safe house. She moved swiftly to a secure chest hidden beneath a pile of rubble. She extracted a PaDD. she checked to see the stolen Comm Logs from Jak'dors office were still present, changed her appearance to that of an unassuming human and left.
Ten minutes and she was back up in the ambassadorial quarter. She tapped a comm unit. "Where is he?" "Tedak has entered the secure Starfleet Section. I cant go further it looks as if hes on his way to Ops or perhaps the Admiral" "Excellent" krotak replied. Now was the time to finally sink that weak fool. She moved quickly to Tedaks quarters. She waited to ensure no one was around and that the child and nanny were absent and then carefully broke in. She stole across the room to the bedroom and lifted the matress of the bed, carefully she slid the PaDD under and turned to leave. If that didnt finally incriminate him nothing would. Pleased at her success she began to retrace her steps...
To be continued in a sec.

OOC: Another joint post between me and Sonak LOL This rounds off the main part of the mission. so feel free to tie up any loose ends
Tedak entered the office and held out the sheathed Honour Blade to the Trill admiral. "I believe you may want this investigated," he said quietly, "I didn't even have to beg for it. She gave it back without much fuss." "So I can see." Magellan replied , "Oh and do come in Ambassador" he smiled wryly Tedak bowed ever so slightly. "Thank you admiral," he said, as he stepped further into the office. Carefully, he placed the blade on Magellan's desk. "What now?" he asked "Now you take that and sheath it." Tedak looked puzzled. "But it is sheathed admiral," he said, pointing at the leather sheath. "well take it - whatever - I have no need for a romulan knife. What is more important is what you and Krotak said" Magellan answered pushing the blade back towards Tedak
Tedak smiled devlishly and revealed a small 20th century cassette recorder. "These items really are quite useful," he said, as he placed the little electronic device on the desk. He pressed the rewind button and let it play the conversation between them. It began well the odd pleasantry, well veiled threat but pretty soon dissolved into static. "A good try" Magellan nodded, "The magnetic field of most anti listening devices distorts most recorders even the old ones." He leaned closer and listened hard, "There are bits and bobs in teh static, we maybe able to extract something, I give it to Alari to see whether anything incriminating is still there. But what about in your words, what did you say about your being free?" "I told her that I was released on probation but still under suspiscion of espionage. I had hoped to cause a little scene about getting my weapon back but no such luck. However, she said she had located the Debrune. This worries me admiral, for she said she has broken into JakDor's communications. I did tell her that by now that transgression would've been discovered, and the Debrune safely relocated. I could not tell whether she was lying or not, after all I am not a Vulcan or another telepath." He paused a few seconds. "She also wanted me to upload Romulan propaganda to the embassy network but I told her where to put her propaganda. I am an ambassador, I serve the empire and the truth, not a deceitful senate." "hmm" Magellan nodded thoughtfully, "Good and bad news there then. It looks as if shes taken the bait. But it looks as if she has already achieved her goal. I expect it wasnt the refugee Debrune she wanted to contact but the militant rebels that oppose Jak'dor. They may well welcome Romulan assistance" Suddenly Magellans comm badge chirped "Excuse me." He placed it on confidential so Tedak could only hear what he was saying. "He has. Good....Okay... everything is secure...Excellent... Okay I ll inform Tedak. Magellan out" "Something wrong admiral?" Tedak enquired carefully. Magellan says: "Quite the reverse you are off the hook. Perhaps you ll accompany me to the brig to see for yourself."
***
Krotak steathily left the bedroom and entered the living space, she got halfway across the room before the door opened flooding the room with light. "Ah Senator Krotak we were expecting you" Tomlinson grinned from the doorway, "Perhaps you d like to accompnay us to the brig" Krotak froze and began to bluff her way out with her mask but realised her plan was scuppered and reluctantly deactivated it and went with the officer.
***
Magellan led Tedak down to the brig and opened the door to reveal Krotak hunched in the brig. Magellan says: "There you go ambassador" he said "Deihu Krotak," Tedak said, his voice dripping with scorn, "and here you thought that my threats were empty, and that you could get away with it. You may be lucky if you get sold and get assigned as hru'hfe, though if we have our way, you will be lower than the lowest servant." He turned to Magellan, and smiled weakly. "Thank you admiral." "Your welcome. We knew that if she thought youd escape the charges shed try and plant more evidence it was just convincing her to try. Nevertheless you realise this doesnt mean much. She ll no doubt get off." "No she won't," Tedak said coldly, "not if I have a say in it. She tried to frame me, tried to dishonour me and my family. I still have a few friends in the Senate, people I know I can trust. If we can get the evidence to them, she will be executed for treason." He glared in the direction of the cell. "Either that, or I will kill her myself. Mnhei'sahe admiral, I doubt you'll understand." "No I wouldnt. And you wont do it on my station or else it will be the last thing you ever do here. As for her, we'll charge her, her raid did injure starfleet officers, but I expect her to be extradited to Romulus within a month or so. The Federation may even be able to use her as leverage to get some 'political' prisoners released. Now I best get back to Ops and I suggest you forget about this and spend some time with that child of yours."

Tedak nodded, bowed ever so slightly and backed out of the holding cell area. It grated at him that the senator would probably go free, and if that were the case, he and his family would be in extreme danger. Yet he knew the admiral was right, if he killed the senator, even because of The Ruling Pashion, his career would most definately be over.
Yet there was something he had to do first, before he went to spend some quality time with his son. "Computer, locate Ambassador Saarok." he called, as he thought of his two firelizards. THe due instantly came swooping in, chirping happily and engaging in aeareal antics.
=^= Ambassador Saarok is in his office =^=
Tedak smiled and walked down the maze of corridors to his friend's office. Only then did he take notice of the still stinging pain in his hand, and did he remember that he'd been cut. Quietly, and shaking his head in mild amusement, he merely gripped onto his robe tightly in an attempt to staunch the bleeding.
"Ambassador," Tedak announced by way of greeting, bowing lightly, "I am pleased to inform you that I have been cleared of all charges."

Paul was sitting in his office when K'Tor arrived. He already knew that Tedak rejected his offer to free him, but no matter he would settle the score with the Romulan senator himself. She costs him a lot of money and a top of that spoiled his plans with the meeting of the crime syndicate he organized on Assailant. Out of many things he was and did he never let people go free when they caused problems for him and the senator would be no different.
"Sir, the romulan has been arrested, seems like they found some evidence to accuse her.", K'Tor said
"I have a feeling that it will not keep her for too long I am sure that a request is already coming from the Romulan senate that she be released and delivered to them and that they will "punish" her."; Paul said
"It's time to deal with her myself.", he said
"Ger Jimmy to forge a permission from the admiral for me to visit the senator right away", Paul said
"And get two engineers to sabotage the EPS conduits in the brig, I want it to fry her good", he added
"It will be done", K’Tor added
"Get everyone together, we're leaving after i pay the visit to our dear senator.", Paul said
--Later in the brig--
Paul, Lena, K’Tor 2 security guys and a computer expert entered the brig.
"Hold it right there", one of the base security guards said, his hand going for the phaser
"Relax, lt.", Paul said as he showed the pad to the guard
It contained permission from adm. Lin for him to visit senator Krotak.
"Ah, sorry ambassador, please go right ahead", the man said
After Paul proceeded to Krotak’s cell, he asked the security to stand back, and they agreed eventually. He deactivated the forcefield and entered her cell.
"Senator Krotak", he said
"Ambassador, what brings you here"; she asked
"I have com here to inform you that you have spoiled my plans, cost me money and that you are going to pay for it.", he said
"The Orion Syndicate does not forgive those who get in their way, and you will not live to tell the tale of my visit"; he said
"The EPS conduit near your cell will overload soon, and will cause an unpleasant death for you. That way I will have some sort of comfort knowing that you will not get in my way again", he said and left reactivating the force field
<Krotak>
After that was done he thanked the security guards and he and his group proceed towards the docking bays.
--On the docking bay deck--
Paul and his group were walking down the corridor that appeared to be oddly deserted after a few minutes of walk two men transported in front of them. Paul's guard pulled out their weapons but after the men transported in they were wearing Starfleet security uniforms.
"Ambassador Castellan"; one of them asked
"Yes"; Paul said
"In the name of the United Federation of Planets you are hear bye sentenced to death, the sentence will be enforced now."; when the man finished and before anyone could react, he and his companion pulled out romulan disruptors and fired on the Ambassador
When Paul saw the blasts flying towards him he knew he was done for.
"Take care of Lena ple...", was all he could say before the blasts hit him in the chest.
Even before he fell to the ground the two officers transported out, leaving his security guards with no target to attack. K'Tor ran up to Paul as he was falling to the ground and caught him seconds before he hit the floor.
"Sir, you will be okay we will get help, and we will captures these cowards and make them pay", K’Tor said
With his dying breath Paul could not say much. He could feel life running out of him, he had a minute, two at most before he died.
"No, ... leave me here", he said
"I .... am..... done .....for. Ttthey....were friends of ......ambassador....Saarok.....he.......doesn’t .......remember. yet..........but .......hhe......will. Tttake....my....place.....and .....go.....go......now..........."; he said as he collapsed, he was dead
"We're leaving now", K'Tor yelled as he grabbed Lena and carried her of Pauls body there was no time to lose they had to be gone before the death was discovered
--A bit later--
"This is ambassadorial transport nr. 556-96 requesting permission to undock"
"This is Assailant control, permission granted, good luck ambassadorial transport nr. 556-96."
And with those words the ship that brought ambassador Castellan to Assailant undocked from the station and as soon as they were at a safe distance from the Base, they jumped to warp.
"Warp 9 engage"; growled K'Tor as the ship vanished in warp but before they did, K'Tor activated the EPS conduit overload which killed Senator Krotak as a last thing he would do for his former boss, it was his way of saying good bye.
--The end of the side plot--

Saarok was attempting to remember how he knew about the weapons he never saw before in his life but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember. Just as he was preparing to leave it and meditate Tedak arrived in his office.
"Ah, ambassador Tedak, it is indeed logical that you were cleared of all charges. After all admirals Drew and Magellan are not as incapable as one could expect from those who lack logic.", Saarok said

"I trust you will be taking a short vacation with your child?", Saarok asked
