Capps quickly rose to his feet and checked his uniform and his body on the nearby mirror.
"Cadet Capps to Commander McCormick. I am on my way to the Holodeck"
<McCormick>
Calvin left his room and headed to the said holodeck. Once Calvin got to Holodeck one he saw Commander Hope, Cadet Soaringstar, Commander Bates, and Cadet Stevenson. He walked up to them all.
"How may I be of service."

"Okay, thanks for the heads up, and pay attention down there, I want a full report of what this is all about. McCormick out." Joan says getting back to her sea of messages, and finding several that need to go straight to the admiral, and sending them to his chair, she continues to watch the power levels changing them when asked to do so by one message after another.

"Commander Bates, you and Cadet Stevenson please meet me and Cadet Soaringstar at holodeck one. It seems the cadets have been working on something during their off hours, and I must say I find the idea inuitive. I would like the two cadets to show us their idea."
Bates tapped his commbadge. "On our way, ma'am." He then turned to Stevenson. "Let's go, Cadet. Probably the probe idea you two told me about."
They headed to Deck 5, and stepped into Holodeck one. Cadet Capps arrived a minute later, and S'reena began. "Please show us what you had in mind," she said to the Cadets.
They seemed a bit timid to start off, so Bates gave them a bit of a nudge. "From what they've told me, they want to build a communications relay probe to communicate with the Matthew. A bit challenging of an assignment, as the communications part requires a Class 6 probe, but that doesn't have the necessary shielding. So we'll have to give a boost there. Cadets?" he said, now turning time over to Soaringstar and Stevenson.

John woke early to start his day, stepping out of bed into his fuzzy slippers, he went to the replicator and got breakfast. The earth meal of French Toast wasn't what he normally had, but this morning he was just in the mood for comforting food. Finishing, he placed his dishes back in the replicator and soon they were materialized back into energy.
After getting ready John was on his way to his office passing Cadets who were in a hurry going to their morning assignments. Smiling at each, saying 'at ease' to some, and simply 'good morning' to others John thought how long it took to get anywhere on a training ship. He walked into his office and activated the lights and his simulated water fall. Standing in front of the cool water display, he could fill the spray from the fall itself. It was so cleaver how the the water, after passing out of the range of the holo emitters, simply vanished. One would expect a wet floor if they didn't know that it was simply a holo-waterfall.
Sitting down he noticed a report from Commander Hope about Cadet Tyrron ... a bit shocked from the report he hit is comm badge =^= Cadet Tyrron ... report to my office as soon as your schedule will permit ... Commander Graxen ... out =^=
<Tyrron>
He then picked up his PaDD and finished his vortex simulation for Cadet Whillims.
<Whillims ... when your ready ... you can go to the holodeck and run this simulation on piloting in a vortex>
Simulation start ... the ship is approaching a vortex ... to the eye it is a thing of beauty ... a light purple energy cone with over tones of blue.
Your nav sensors are of no use ... however lateral sensors will show you the pockets of "space" that is in the path between you and the ship needing rescue. Remember that each pocket has its own gravity affect on the ship; some high gravity ... some low. After reaching the ship in question ... the tractor beam has a narrow margin to work with ... so don't put much stress leaving the vortex with the ship.
<have fun ... if anybody else wants to "sim" with Whillis ... during this ... yep ... you said it ... have fun
after you do this Jack ... report to the bridge for your next shift>

As I left Engineering I was vary tired and I could barely make it to the turbo lift.Then I told the computer my desired location.After a minute or two of listening to the constant rhythm of the turbo lift I arrived at the corridor.I started walking and decided that I'll just eat at my quarters.
About a minute or two of walking I arrived at the room.I entered no even looking for anybody due to the tiredness.I told the replicator I wanted steak and that would be it for now.It replicated it instantly and I brought it to a bed not really looking where and sat down.I began eating and the only thing I could think about was Hannah and when we can finally go on a date.
About 2 or 3 minutes later I finished my steak and decided to take a shower.After a second or two I told the computer to wake me up in 2 hours not caring what time it was anyways. As I laid down and I thought that I couldn't sleep long due to the current events.
2 Hours later the computer woke me up.I got up and took a sonic shower and got a new uniform on.As I walked out of my quarters I wondered what I should do.After a minute or two I decided to just ask the commander how to proceed.
=/\=Shelby to Commander Bates what would you like me to do sir?=/\=

Hannah and Soaringstar had been continuing with there computer simulations working out the final details for modifying the probe they were nearly ready to start work on the probe, but the only problem was the shields. Hannah decided to start work on ideas to improve the shielding and leave Soaringstar to continue with the last model for the probe.
A few minutes later Soaringstar was called to the bridge and Hannah was left to work alone. Hannah watched as Soaringstar and then Shelby leave engineering. She was glad to see that Shelby was finally getting a break, but wished she was joining him and they could finally go on a date together. But she had work to do and was getting distracted by the thoughts of this handsome young man who she was falling for. She turned back to her console and continued her work.
Noah came over to Hannah and instructed her that she need to go to holodeck 1 to present her probe idea. As her and Noah entered Soaringstar, S’reena, Joan and Capps were all ready stood waiting for them to arrive.
Hannah stood nerves next to Soaringstar and they kept exchanging glances as Noah explained their idea. Then it was her turn when he mentioned the shielding.
“The shielding could be improved by reconfiguring them to the vortex, but we will need more information on the vortex to do that,” Hannah said turning the operations personnel.

OCC:
Sorry for lack of posts last few days, been very busy with some work.
ON:
Drew looked up from his padd as Soaringstar approached; the young woman looked like she had something to say. Smiling, Drew nudged S’reena gently in the side, as Soaringstar told them about the probe idea.
“It sounds like a good idea to me as well Cadet,” Drew said, reviewing the data Soaringstar had supplied, “prepare a probe ready for launch.”
“Aye sir,” Soaringstar replied, saluting and then leaving the bridge with S’reena.
Drew watched them leave and then turned his attention to the forward viewscreen. It was now showing clearly the trapped starship in the distance. Down in Engineering Drew knew that Commander Bates’s team would be reviewing the imagery data along with the sensor scans. Hopefully they would soon have the answers they needed.
“Admiral, we are approaching the Matthew,” Graxon reported from helm.
“Very well,” Drew replied, tapping a control on his chair, “Yellow Alert, all Cadets report to stations.”
Instantly the bridge lighting was darkened slightly, with bright yellow alarms flashing every few seconds. The atmosphere on the bridge changed too, now they were close, everyone knew it was time to act, before time ran out.
“Can we magnify the image?” Drew asked out loud, as he squinted to see the Matthew on the viewscreen.
“Um…it already is magnified Admiral,” McCormick replied uneasily.
Using his best poker face, Drew covered his embarrassment.
“Old age catches up with us all,” he joked as he called the image up on his personal screen. Although he did his best not to show it, his eye lapse worried him, recently he had been feeling increasingly tired and achy. He hated to admit it but he was starting to feel old, perhaps even too old for commanding a starship.
Shaking his head to banish that line of thought, Drew watched all the Cadet’s return to the bridge and report to there stations. There was a buzz of nose as the Instructors all brought there teams up to speed on what had been happening.
“Bridge to Hope, how’s that probe coming along Commander?
<S’reena/Everyone in holodeck one>
“We don’t have much time Commander, we need it deployed soon,” Drew replied. <S’reena/Soaringstar>
Closing the channel, Drew returned his attention to studying the readouts on his screens. Based on what he could see, the Matthew had been trapped for at least a day, and was being pulled into the vortex at an increasing speed, within 5.4 hours it would be lost. Whatever was causing the warp field problems was still in effect, and if anything seemed to be increasing, without warp power, it would prove difficult to tractor the Matthew out of the vortex without the Hanson itself being caught.
“Bridge to Commander Bates,” Drew said, tapping his comm button again, “please tell me you have an idea on how we can pull the Matthew out?”
<Bates/Engineering Cadets>
“Understood Chief,” Drew replied, “get on it ASAP.”
“Helm, take us in slowly,” Drew said after closing the channel to Bates, “we don’t want to get caught in this thing either.”
“I am on it Admiral,” Graxon replied, relaying orders to his Cadets.
“What’s the status of our shields?” Drew asked out aloud, waiting for someone to answer.
<Tactical and/or Operations>
“Thank you,” Drew replied, “make sure to keep an eye on it.”
Drew watched as all around him everyone got to work, doing everything they could to prepare the Hanson for the task that lay ahead. He rubbed his eyes slowly, dispute the buzz on the bridge he still felt tired, with a start he realised he had been nodding off to sleep. Trying to cover for himself, he hailed S’reena again.
“Commander, report.”
<S’reena>

Joan didn't know if Grayson had heard about what is going on, and decides he should be on the bridge since Capps is busy elsewhere.
=/\=McCormick to Grayson, you wanted action, well report to the bridge.=/\= She says, and realizes that he had asked her to do so in the first place. She smiles, but only for a moment as everything else calls for her again. She takes a few breathes of air in, and then goes in for the kill, wanting to do that to her console at the time.
<Grayson>
"Alright, cadet, I will see you in a few minutes then, and don't be late." She says hearing that he was coming, and the thought of someone freshly rested in ops gave her some relief. Another part of her console beeps, and since they are now closer, the scans show high levels of tricamium, ramonium, and various other rare metals that shouldn't be in this part of space. She does another scan to see if there are any traces of chiramamine, and hopes not.

Nick was sound asleep when he was woke by Commander McCormick calling him: =/\=McCormick to Grayson, you wanted action, well report to the bridge. =/\=
He slowly wakes up from his deep sleep. "Um...OK Commander, uh Ma'am. I'll be there soon. I need to get ready real quick first."
"Alright, cadet, I will see you in a few minutes then, and don't be late."
Nick woke himself up with a splash of cold water and then hurriedly got dressed. *Shouldn't there have been a message sent out my the Admiral first?* he thought. "Computer, were there any other messages before Commander McCormick called me?
Yes, Admiral Drew called two minutes before.
"I must've slept through it," he said to himself. Then he ran out of his room and entered the nearest turbolift. "Bridge."
The doors opened, revealing the bridge. He turned to his left to see his instructor working hard at her station. He walked up to her, "Ma'am, I'm here. What's the situation?"

Jason looked up as Yellow Alert went off. Must have meant that they were getting close to the Matthew.
He turned to his console. "Computer, are we close enough to get biometric scans of the Matthew crew?" he inquired.
"Affirmative," was the response.
"Scan the Bridge for lifesigns and report."
A few minutes later, multiple readings came up. Oddly enough, the oldest person on the Bridge showed to be 75. They were in the center of the Bridge, which would be make them the Commanding Officer.
"Computer, access the biographical information on the Matthew's Captain," he ordered.
It came up moments later. "Captain Abraham Ramos," the computer said, displaying the information.
"45??" Jason said in surpise when he looked at the age.
"What?" Michael asked, looking around the corner.
"According to these readings, the Captain of the Matthew is 30 years older than he should be," Jason noted in surprise. "In fact, Computer, bring up the biographical information for each crewmember on the Matthew Bridge and display."
It came up, same difference. All of them appeared to be 20-30 years older than they were supposed to.
"Sickbay to Bridge. Admiral, I just ran a biometric scan on the Bridge Crew of the Matthew, and checked their bios, and they're all 20 to 30 years older than they should be."

"I'm not certain admiral," S'reena replied, as she reviewed the cadets' work and glanced at Bates to get his opinion, "we seem to be making progress, but we'll need more time to get it working properly and run some tests."
"We're doing the best we can admiral," S'reena snapped tiredly, "we don't exactly have much to work from!"
She turned to the two cadets. "Tell us again, what exactly do you want it to do? Soaringstar, you please explain, while Ms Stevenson continues to do whatever she was doing." She raised an eyebrow at Bates and cast him a questioning look; while science was her field, she knew absolutely nothing about engineering. She had been lucky to get a bare pass when she was in the academy.
<Soaringstar/Bates>
<snipped from Drew's post>
"Admiral, are you going to let us get some work done, or are you going to call us every five minutes for a progress report," S'reena snapped, wiping sweat from her forehead. "I'll call you as soon as we're ready to deploy the probe, until then don't disturb us!"
<Drew>
She glanced at the two cadets, who were working furiously on getting their ideas deployed and were fussing over the holographic probe. "Computer, generate one chair," she then ordered, and a comfortable chair appeared just beside her. With a sigh, she sat down. "I'm sorry people but I really need to sit down now, my back is killing me. If you need my assistance, please tell me and I'll be back on my feet. Until then, I'll just offer my opinions from here."
<Soaringstar/Hannah/Bates>
ooc: rightyho Soaringstar and Hannah....get us a working probe please but don't make it too perfect...we want to have the chance of it failing on us. A few oversights is very plausible:)

Calvin listened in on the conversation and he believed the other two cadets had a great idea. But Commander Bates was unsure of how everything was going to work, or maybe he did have a plan, but wanted the cadets to figure one out themeselves. Calvin thought that maybe this could be another drill, but incase it wasn't he but all of his knowledge together. Commander Bates was right about the class 6 probe, but maybe there was another way around it.
Cadet Capps spoke up. "Commander Bates what class would be required to have enough shielding."
<Bates>
"Sir. I believe that I could take the class 6 communcations device and relay and install in on the said probe with enough of shielding. The only thing tricky we would need is to set the deflector dish to look for the exact frequency that we set on the communcations relay. Which would mean we might lose scanning power on the dish."

"Well, I'm done in the Holodeck working on a probe, but we're good here, so report to Engineering and ask Lt. Bates," he said, and closed the channel.
<Tag Shelby>
“The shielding could be improved by reconfiguring them to the vortex, but we will need more information on the vortex to do that,” Hannah said.
But before Bates could open his mouth to answer, the comm went off again. “Bridge to Commander Bates, please tell me you have an idea on how we can pull the Matthew out?”
"Yes sir, we do," he replied. "By reconfiguring the deflector dish to reinforce the tractor beam, we think we'll be able to pull the Matthew out. But we've got one shot at it."
“Understood Chief,” Drew replied, “get on it ASAP.”
The comm channel closed. "If you want Engineering to do something," he said in exasperation, "its best to actually call Engineering!" He tapped his commbadge. "Commander Bates to Lieutenant Bates, I need to start working on the tractor beam idea that the Cadets proposed. Cadet Shelby is on his way to Engineering, so involve him."
"Understood, Bates out."
Capps spoke up then. "Commander Bates what class would be required to have enough shielding?"
"A Class 4 probe would have the necessary shielding, as its intended for stellar encounters."
"Sir. I believe that I could take the class 6 communcations device and relay and install in on the said probe with enough of shielding. The only thing tricky we would need is to set the deflector dish to look for the exact frequency that we set on the communcations relay. Which would mean we might lose scanning power on the dish."
"That's a possibility. The two probes are the same size and configuration. And the loss of scanning power is acceptable."

"Commander Bates to Lieutenant Bates, I need to start working on the tractor beam idea that the Cadets proposed. Cadet Shelby is on his way to Engineering, so involve him," came the Chief's voice through the comm
"Understood, Bates out," Lieutenant Bates said, and closed the comm channel.
A minute later, Shelby entered. "Commander Bates said I should see you on what to do."
"And I have something for you. We've got to use the deflector dish to reinforce the tractor beam. Assist me on that," Bates instructed.

Hearing her cadet, she realizes she hadn't filled him in, just told him to report for duty.
"We have arrived at our destination, and we are monitoring the Matthew and the space around it. I am still trying to run my sensor reading, but I am not having much luck. It is time for you to run Ops again, while I run my sensor sweeps of the area." Joan says moving to the back of the station to try and finish more of her scans.
She sighs some relief, and plunges back into her latest scan to see if there is any chiramamine in the area, and unfortunately there are high levels of it, then she hears the news about the crew of the Matthew being older. She groans, and doesn't realize that it was loud enough for the whole bridge to hear.

After Shelby talked to Commander Bates he went to Engineering as ordered to receive his new instructions.As he made his way there he constantly thought about Hannah and what she was doing.After A minute or two he arrived at the turbo lift he entered it and said Engineering.
After a minute of listening to the constant rhythm for a minute the turbo lift stooped and he was at engineering.As Shelby walked out there was a couple crewmen walking on as well.He made his way to Engineering and as he walked in he seen Lt.Bates and and asked for instructions.
After talking to Lt.Bates Shelby and Lt.Bates started working on the tractor beam.As we started working on it he noticed that he couldn't help but notice that he never stopped thinking about Hannah so he started to focus on the task at hand.After 5 of 10 minutes of working on the tractor beam he asked Lt.Bates if he was doing it right.The Lt. answered if you weren't I would tell you.Shelby answered ok sir and continued working on the tractor beam.He kept working on how Tractor beam to make it stronger so when he used the deflector dish it would be even better.
After getting all the power he could with out the deflector dish he started working on it.After a minute or two he seen that the Lt. had been working on it for a wile so he assisted him.A little wile later they finished and the Lt. comm-ed the Commander and notified him of us finishing.

“Yellow Alert, all Cadets report to stations.” Jack woke from his sleep and sat up quickly bashing his head on the bunk above him. he hopped out of bed and opened his foot locker and grabbed a fresh uniform and threw it on. He rushed out of his quarters with his untidy hair bouncing around as he tried to get it to lay flat. He entered the turbolift and said, "Bridge." He waited till the lift finally stopped and opened it's doors. The bridge was just as Jack expected, full of people running around dooing there jobs. Jack rushed to his station and sat down and prepared for whatever orders he received. “Helm, take us in slowly,” Drew said after closing the channel to Bates, “we don’t want to get caught in this thing either.” “I am on it Admiral,” Graxon replied, relaying orders to his Cadets. Jack was already working on it. He was glad to have studied navigation procedures for anomolies or he might have panicked when his main sensor desplay showed nothing. He switched the display to use another sensor system and started to take the safest rout through the anomolies gravity well. There were so many different areas with different gravity levels that it took time and patience to nanuever the ship. This actually took what he learned at the academy to the test. In combat you literally fly by the seat of your pance. This however takes time and patience. ooc: sorry for not posting for a couple of days, life got busy.

“What’s the status of our shields?” Drew asked out aloud, waiting for someone to answer.
Brandy looked down at the tactical display and took the read out on the ships shields. "Shields are at 90 percent but slowly dropping sir, estimated time to collapse, 4 hours." Brandy looked over to the Admiral to gauge his reaction.
“Thank you,” Drew replied, “Make sure to keep an eye on it.”
"Eye, sir." Brandy returned to his panel for a moment until Dr. Black came over the comm. "Sickbay to Bridge. Admiral, I just ran a biometric scan on the Bridge Crew of the Matthew, and checked their bios, and they're all 20 to 30 years older than they should be."
"Admiral, our shields as they are currently, will not provide any protection from time dilations, I recommend that we modify the main deflector to emit a Tachyon field around the ship, that may disrupt the temporal applications enough to provide us with some protection." Brandy rested his hand on the edge of the tactical console as he leaned foreword.

Hannah and Soaringstar worked on the probe. Hannah was so focused on her work she blocked out most things that were going on around her. She barely noticed the conversations that the senior officers were having with the bridge. They finished of there work and then Hannah turned to S’reena. She was surprised to see her sat on a chair, she hadn’t even realized a chair had been generated or was in the room when she arrived.
“We are nearly ready to run the first test of the probe, we can create a simulation of the vortex and manual adjust the shielding as we go to get the best setting,” Hannah said, “On the real probe the shielding will have to set, we will have very little control of the frequency from the ship.”
<Anyone>
She finished her explanation and then walked over to the computer console to start inputting data ready for the test, she called Capps over to give her hand inputting the sensor data to make a realist approximation of the vortex.

(OOC: Don't worry Cadet Brandy, you're fine on the tachyon thing Mike tapped his commbadge. "Lieutenant Bates to Commander Bates. We've finished the tractor beam set up." "Acknowledged. Inform the Bridge. Bates out." Mike tapped his commbadge again. "Engineering to Bridge. You've got the tractor beam ready whenever you need it, sir." <Drew> "Aye, sir." He turned back to Cadet Shelby. "Well, Cadet, we've a few mundane maintenance tasks to do at this point. The shields harmonics are off somewhat, and are letting a little radiation that they shouldn't be. Also the Warp core needs a little fine-tuning. The Matter-antimatter flow ratio is a bit off. Take your pick of tasks, and go to it."

Cadet Nick's instructor turned to look at him, a momentary look of confusion on her face. It went as soon as it came and then she filled him in on the situation: "We have arrived at our destination, and we are monitoring the Matthew and the space around it. I am still trying to run my sensor reading, but I am not having much luck. It is time for you to run Ops again, while I run my sensor sweeps of the area."
"Aye, Ma'am," he said as she moved to the back of the station to try and finish more of her scans.
He took his seat and again began looking at the messages coming in. He noticed Engineering needed more power for the deflector dish and the tractor beam, so he diverted some from non-necessary systems to give them what they needed. And when the Navigation Cadet came in, he needed more for maneauvering, and everyone needed more for scanners. *Hm...non-emergency reserves are getting a bit low. I'll have to keep an eye on that.*
As far as other messages went, the ones not requesting more power, none were too important, so he sent them to wherever they could be better answered. It seemed most people were able to handle whatever was going on without the help of the higher ups.
More power was beginning to be needed so he looked at more non-necessary systems for places he could take power from. He didn't want to go into the emergency reserves until they were really needed. He thought about the holo-decks, and since yellow-alert was in place, he doubted anyone would be using them. So he began shutting them down, but noticed that Holodeck One was in use. *That's odd. Well, better see who's in it before I shut it down, just in case it's important.* He asked the computer, using text so as to not disturb the bridge crew, who was in it, and it told him Commander S'Reena, Commander Bates, Cadet Capps, and a few others. Since so many essential people were in it, he figured it was important and kept it running, using the power from the rest of the system to go into other places.
OOC: Sorry I haven't posted, I was gonna last night, but the net was too slow and I was too tired. And tachyons? Ha, my family has a joke that tachyons solve everything in the world of Trek. Them and Jefferies Tubes. lol.

Calvin walked over to were Hannah was standing. He looked at the screen and typed in a few keys. "It will be difficult to approximate, but from the reading we have gotten from the bridge I believe I could input data that will be 1% plus or minues the real deal."
Calvin then typed in a few more commands into the computer console. "I believe this will give you the best simulation. The simulation is ready."

S'reena gazed tiredly from one cadet to another, only barely comprehending what was going on. Her sleep-deprived mind and tired body were getting a little slow on her. That, and being seven months pregnant of three didn't make it easier on her either.
After receiving a second explanation from one of the cadets, she cast them a grateful smile then tapped her combadge. "S'reena to bridge, we've got a working model for our probe and we're going to run a few tests. As soon as tests are successful, the cadets will send the specifics to the OPS console, for Commander McCormick to configure a real probe."
<Drew/McCormick/Grayson>
She gazed over at Bates. "Commander, do you think you can manage alone? I really need to go catch some sleep, before I will be forced to take a few days leave by our dear CMO. Since I don't want to take up leave, I need to go now, even though I have three hours of shift left."
<Bates>
"Thank you commander. I will steal one of your cadets to assist me, I am too tired to walk on my own, and I don't want to use the transporters for this." She glanced at Soaringstar. "Cadet, would you please assist me?" she asked the part-Klingon cadet, knowing that the young woman was the strongest, physically, of the three cadets present.

Calvin continued to work the panel. "Computer run first simulation." The computer did as it was asked. Everyone turned around to watch the probe launch and enter the vortex where The Mattew was. As Calvin watched it enter he thought that it was going to work, but before he realized it the sheilding was not enough and the probe exploded.
Calvin then turned back to the panel. "I think if we increase the speed of the probe and make it enter the vortex here it will work. Here the vortex is not expanding as such a high rate. It may survive there. Then we will have to find the correct frequency to speak with the crew."

A second launch of the fake probe was now underway. Calvin watched this one take a different course into the vortex. It seemed like this one was going to work. A serveral seconds that seemed like minutes to Calvin the probe finally stopped at the positioned coordinates. Calvin looked around at the other officers. "I think we figured it out."

Hannah turned to see the first probe being released she turned her face back to the control panel and watched the reading on the screen. She tried to adjust the shielding as the probe moved but to little effect and the probe still exploded a few seconds later without even reaching communications range with the Matheson. Hannah analysed the results looking over the effects the vortex had on the shielding and how her improvements had counter that effect.
Calvin explained his idea for a better course, as Hannah inputted the new shield setting. She hoped that the new course and the improved shielding would make the probe survive longer.
The second probe was launched and the group watched it again fly into the vortex. Hannah kept an eye on the readings again and kept adjusted the shielding. They watched as the probe reached communications range.
"I think we figured it out," Calvin said as Hannah monitored the stress on the shields and looked back of the last set of data collected on that probes flight though the vortex.
“From my estimates that will survive about another 3 minutes then exploded again,” she informed the officers, “I would like to run a third simulation to try out another shield setting which in theory should give another couple of minutes of communication time.”
There were nods from the commanding officers and Hannah inputted the new shield setting designed from the previous two tests.
“Computer launch probe gamma,” she ordered and a new probe appeared on the screen heading into the vortex. This probe again reached the Matheson’s communications range but Hannah hoped this shield setting would make it survive longer. But she knew the simulation was only an approximation of the vortex and they couldn’t be certain what would happen the probe in the actual vortex. Also they would have very control of the probe, not like she did now where she could alter the speed, frequency of shields and much more.
Hannah looked over the results, the shield seemed to be holding a lot better than before.

As the Lt. gave Shelby his orders he couldn't stop thinking about that date. After the Lt. finished Shelby started on the first thing which is the Shield Harmonics.
He walked over to the station that is responsible for the shield harmonics and he began working on it. After a minute or two he started looking up on what was normal for the shields harmonics to be at. As he read the data he could see that it was a bit off but it was hard to see exactly what was off. As he started to study the harmonics bit by bit he started to think about the rest of the ship and what chaos must be going on all the Commanders and Cadets like myself working on multiple things. Then he started to get extremely bothered to the fact that he found the problem but he couldn't fix it. After 10 or 20 minutes he started going around the it and trying to work back words on the problem. Just as he fixed the problem the harmonics went out again with a new problem. He started the same process and this time it was much easier to fix.
After he fixed the shield he walked over to the station responsible for the warp core and began working on it. The warp core which needed a little fine-tuning. He started on it by looking at the matter-antimatter flow ratio and he seen that it is a bit off. After that he decided to start at the top of it all and double check everything just in case there was an unforeseen problem. He seen no extra problems as he went thought the system but he did see that the ship has been pushed and it should overhauled and checked better by a team.As he worked on making the matter-antimatter flow he thought maybe he should record all of this in a log so he could refer to all at a later time. After he finished the log he started on the matter-antimatter flow again.Then he started making progress on it and realized that he never went back to get his tests on his eyes. After finishing the matter-antimatter flow he decided to ask the Lt. if he could go and get them...So he walked up to the Lt. and told him he was done with the repairs and would like to go to sick bay to get the test results.
