"Cadet Owens, we have to get the ship ready for our arrival at the planet. I want to assume that our warp drive will be fixed quickly, which means we could be at the planet is about two hours. Check on the status of the shuttle craft, in case we need them, then start organizing security and medical teams for transport to the planet."
"Aye sir" He replied, standing from his station. Another crewman slipped into his seat before he left Auxillary control.
After checking in at the nearest repair locker, he found that repairs were largely underway by the rest of the Engineering staff.
His commbadge beeped.
=/\= Black to Cadet Owens, meet us at the Aerowing Shuttle Dock on Deck 9. =/\= "
Well, that was part of his orders, so he made his way to the shuttlebay and reported in.
A few minutes later, all 4 were aboard the Aerowing Shuttle. Jason turned to Paris and Owens.
"You two are probably wondering what all this is about. I ran into some strange readings on the Borg. I'm not sure, but I believes they're suffering from some sort of ailment. We are taking the Shuttle because some of this equipment is too delicate to transport. Mr. Owens, you are here just in case we have technological problems. So, if there are no questions, Ms Paris, take us out," he said, indicating the pilot's seat.
Gary secured his toolkit in the aft compartment, next to ones that were suppose to be there, and took his seat.

Blayne checked the status monitors for the Aerowing. Everything looked OK. "Computer, release aerowing docking clamps." Condition lights went from red to green as the magnetic clamping system released the shuttle from the Hanson. YrDis opened a channel to the newly released ship. "Cadet Paris, this is the Hanson, docking clamps disengaged. You are free to maneuver the shuttle."
<Cadet Paris>
"Acknowledged. We will be arriving at the planet shortly. Have a safe trip. Hanson out." YrDis watched on the main screen as the Aerowing maneuvered carefully away from the Hanson, then jumped to warp. They would be at Theta Aries very shortly. Carefully, YrDis accessed that internal whisper. He was getting used to it, but it distracted him at odd moments. "We have sent a shuttle to your planet. It will be there shortly. Please don't attack it. It has equipment aboard that will help you."
"We understand" was the reply.
Resubmerging that quiet chorus, YrDis turned his attention back to the Hanson. He spent several minutes examining status readouts. The primary systems of the Hanson were operational again, except for the warp drive. It looked like it would be back online again shortly. Short and long range scans were clear. He was tempted to leave the bridge to find out what was happening with the Captain and First Officer in Sickbay, but as senior officer he shouldn't leave the bridge. Fortunately, he had a set of eyes in Sickbay that could see for him. YrDis tapped his communicator.
"Cadet Zoe, please report on the status of the Captain and First Officer."

Angel heard the doctor tell her that she was to fly him to the planet. She was a little unsure since she hadn't really gotten any sleep in the last couple of days. She took in a deep breath to calm herself and found that to be a mistake as a sharp pain in her side made her grimace.
Angel heard the doctor give an explanation for why they were heading back to Theta Aries.
"So, if there are no questions, Ms Paris, take us out," the docor said, indicating the pilot's seat, she heard the dotor say. Angel nodded and took the piloting seat that the doctor had indicated.
"Cadet Paris, this is the Hanson, docking clamps disengaged. You are free to maneuver the shuttle, she heard Commander YrDis say. She took another deep breath hoping that it would help ease her worries and grimaced again hoping that no one had noticed her pained expression. She made a mental note to herself not to take anymore deep breaths for the time being.
Angel thought to herself, " I have to fly them down to Theta Aries and if I say anything about my condition then they will make me turn back and rest in sickbay.

After being fixed up and leaving sickbay, Franklin finally had time to think about what Anderson said. A science cadet that had defected to the Maquis to provide us with an inside agent?
"What am I here for? To teach them about science or to stand by when they do covert ops?" Franklin muttered, while making for the bridge.
When he arrived there, he was informed that several of the staff had gone down to the surface (Franklin fiercly hoped one of them was Wesson) to aid the Borg. The Maquis were seemingly disabled, and no longer a problem. But they seem to have done something to the Sun... and their weapons were no ordinary ones either. If they were able to cripple Borg, who knows what surprises might be in store for them.... Somehow, Franklin didn't think this was going to be much of a problem. After all, there was an expert on Maquis weapons in sickbay.
=/\=Franklin to Anderson. =/\=Anderson here. =/\=Report to the bridge, I'd like you to use your knowledge of Maquis weapons and fill in the blanks on our knowledge of them.

“A hint would've been appreciated though. How would you feel if you lost a loved one twice within several days?” Dr. Hope objected.
Illito shrugged, she probably wouldn’t know that she had lost her only family member, her brother, until he had been dead several days. “I don’t know how it would feel,” she answered. “I think, however, that you should stay away from Captain Marcell. You no longer look like a man who’s wife is dead.” Dr. Hope nodded, in agreement.
“He has clear view on this bed,” he decided, “it would be best if we moved her out of his line of sight. That'll do. Kahlan, please go overthere to that corner with Ms Tintagel please,” he told his daughter. “Could you please prepare that bed?” he requested of Illito. “I'm going to carry her over there, so that when Marcell comes to his senses he'll not spot our little trick.”
Illito moved toward one of the isolation ward beds, taking the Hopes’ daughter with her. Kahlan seemed to be very energetic, and very happy. Illito smiled down at her.
“I'll stay with her,” Michael told Illito, after he had moved S’reena “and make sure she eats something when she wakes next. Any idea how long that might take?”
“Normally, it should take about twenty minutes,” Illito replied. “Given the fact that her health was already weak, it may take a little longer.”

Zoë walked over to where Anderson was standing and looked at what she had pointed out. Hmm..sister recently deceased? Zoë nodded
"Yes, this could be something..at least part of the problem.." she said slowly. When Anderson walked away she sighed...this is not going to be easy...everyone is being so blasted distracting...all of them..the best thing for me to do is to is get everyone out of here..then she was beeping. It was Commander Blayne asking for a report. Zoë moved off to where no one could hear her.
"Yes, sir...May I say it's good to hear your voice..I am in a real jam. I am trying to allow the Captain to get some sleep but when he woke up again the XO instigated him and now he's agitated again." an audible sigh comes over the com from Zoë "Tintagel isn't helping by allowing the XO to do these things without my knowledge of them. It seems I can't turn my back for a minute. I have no clue why Anderson is here she should be on the bridge..I think the best thing for me to do is just get people out of here.. The Captain is still the same...he was tranquilized to allow him to calm down but that was ruined..the XO is weak and needs to rest but with everyone around makes it impossible...That's the best I can say at this moment.." she sounded worried.
"Carry on, Cadet. I will be down as soon as I can." came the thoughtful answer.
"Aye, sir! Cadet Zoë out."
Zoë took a deep breath and walked out to sickbay. then she began to speak as gently as she could.
"Dr. Hope..please take your children out of Sickbay..they've seen their mother and I don't think this is the best place for them..if you would take my boy with you as well. You will be able to visit tomorrow right now the patients need time and quiet without a lot of people around."
The Doctor started to protest then he realized she was probably right and gave his wife kisses and allowed the children to say farewell til tomorrow.
She watched Dr. Hope take the children back to their quarters to calm them and cheer them up a bit perhaps, take their mind off their mom. Thank god, Zoë thought. She then pulled Cadet Tintagel aside
Zoë then smiled "You're doing a great job..let's just try to work together ok? I can't do anything if no one tells me what's going on. If the Commander says anything to you I want to know about it until she is back on duty, ok?"
The Cadet smiled back. Another one down.. Hopefully, they'll stay there. now the kids were with Dr. Hope elsewhere and Cadet was with the Commander in a separate room with strict orders to not move.
She was about to turn to Anderson and send her to the Bridge when Franklin called and summoned her. Thank god for small favors, she thought as she watched Anderson go. I will have to remember to talk to her later, however, Zoë thought.
Now that it was relatively quiet she could turn her attention to the Captain and then the XO in that order..Captain first. She walked over to his bedside.
<Tag..ermm anyone I've mentioned..I guess>

“You want to work together?” Illito asked Zoë. Zoë nodded. “Just remember that, at least to Captain Marcell, Commander Hope is dead. S’reena went to a lot of trouble to make him think that, and while you may or may not approve of her strategy, I believe that she would appreciate it if we kept up the ruse.”
“Do you really think that S’reena was doing the right thing? For either herself or Captain Marcell?” questioned Zoë.
“I don’t think that it really matters what I think about that situation. Neither officer’s life was in very much danger, and I try to make it a habit to obey my superior officers,” Illito responded.
Zoë decided to let the comment about neither being in danger pass, for now. “Sounds like a typical Cardassian attitude,” she muttered wryly. “Duty to your superiors above all else.”
“Well,” Illito replied. “I am a typical Cardassian. Now,” added Illito. “Commander Hope could wake up at any moment, and I think it would be better if she didn't find herself alone in an isolation ward.” Zoë nodded, and Illito joined S'reena in the self-enclosed isolation room.

"I'm on my way sir, and I will happily give you any and all information I have. Anderson out." She says as she leaves sickbay without talking to anyone. She realizes she has a job to do now, and doesn't want anything to get in the way. The trip to the bridge is a quiet lonely one, and she doesn't mind. Once there she quickly goes to her instructor and sits beside him.
"I am here, and now we can get this party started. They plan on sending a torpedo full of uridium into the sun. We have to make sure to detonate it before it reaches it destination. I think we need to use the phaser to get rid of any attempts they make." She says eager to serve. She scans the distance between the ship and sun, and finds they just sent the torpedo.
"Sir, they just sent that torpedo now. I think we need to hurry and get rid of it." She says loud enough for the whole bridge to hear.

YrDis examines the readout that Anderson has sent to him. There is most certainly a torpedo headed towards the star of the Theta Aries system. On the high side of things, the star is out of the torpedoes range. "Why are they launching the torpedo so far away from the sun?" YrDis asked.
"They don't have a ship capable of handling the radiation and heat of a close approach to a star. The Maquis plan was to launch the torpedo from a point as close as they could get to the star and let gravity take its' course" Anderson reported.
YrDis turned to the Navigation officer and said "Plot an intercept course. Top speed" then sat back. This would be a lot easier if we had warp drive available, YrDis thought to himself. He checked the status screen. Warp engines were still offline. YrDis tapped the comm. "Bridge to engineering. We need warp drive, right now!"
"We're working on it!" a frustrated voice replied. "Primary EPS transfer circuits are fried, and the plasma fields that line that antimatter conduits are fluctuating. Stand by." The channel closed.
YrDis looked over at the Operations Officer. "Commander Hawking, divert all unnecessary power from the Hanson and dump it into the impulse drive. Put them to the wall."
Hawking spent about 30 seconds entering commands, then looked up. "Impulse engines at 113 percent. We're going about as fast as the ship will go without warp."
YrDis looked at Navigation. "Well?"
The officer shook his head. "We can't intercept the torpedo before it reaches the star. We're too far away."
YrDis sat back in his chair. "I'm open to suggestions if anyone has one."

Michael had returned to his quarters, taking his two daughters with him. However, ever since he had taken Yarna away from Marcell, the little girl was crying inconsolably and Michael was stumped on the why. It wasn't as if the girl saw her godfather that often or spent huge amounts of time with him. Yet, ever since the captain had been confined to sickbay and the toddler had seen it, all she had wanted was to stay with the captain.
Michael ran his hands through his hair in desperation. He couldn't walk around in sickbay himself, despite his duty shifts, if either S'reena or Marcell were there. He was to pretend his wife was dead, and though dealing with Marcell under the pretense of her indeed having been killed wasn't too difficult for him, it would be hard on his eldest daughter.
Kahlan was old enough to cry her mother's name throughout sickbay, but still too young to understand the need for secrecy. Yarna was too young to even do that, and she was more a daddy's girl than a mommy's girl. Yet, the little girls current behaviour was disturbing.
After lunch, he picked up his youngest and grabbed the hand of his eldest. He was going to take Kahlan to the daycare centre, and Yarna back to sickbay. "Daddy, when are we going to visit mommy?" Kahlan suddenly asked.
"Later honey," Michael assured his eldest, while pressing Yarna against his shoulder. The girls little body was racking with hysterical sobs and she would not be calmed down. "Your mother needs to rest now, she's very ill. I promise we will go visit her again tomorrow, but you must promise me to be a good girl now and do everything nanny Mahany says."
The girl nodded solemnly. "On my honour," she stated seriously, which made her father laugh. She ducked as he tousled her long ravenblack hair. "Oh!" she exclaimed, demonstratively pulling back her hair and smoothening it, as she'd often seen her mother do.
Michael laughed, as the little group crossed the corridors of the USS Hanson. After he delivered his eldest to the nanny, he continued his way to sickbay. He passed Zoë on his way, and momentarily handed her the still crying infant. "Please bring her to Marcell," he said between clenched teeth, avoiding any eye contact with either Zoë, or the captain if ever he was watching. "She'll only stop crying when close to him, for a reason I have yet been unable to figure out. Perhaps you can help me there?"
Next he walked up to Illito and pulled her aside. "How is she doing?" he asked quietly, "can I see her?"

“How is she doing?” Michael asked quietly, “can I see her?”
“She was awake for a little bit, she probably still is. I told her to try to get some sleep, but I am not going to inject her with any more drugs to help with that,” Illito paused, hoping that her approach, even if it may not be the best one, would still work. “You can probably see her, but I’m going to check if she’s awake first.” Illito returned twenty seconds later, nodding.
“She wants to see you,” Illito replied quietly, glancing first at Marcell to be sure that he wasn’t paying any attention. “Should I stay out here or go in with you?” Illito asked. “It might look a little suspicious if we both disappear at once, but I’m not sure how much I can do out here.”
She glanced around the sickbay, which seemed to have a far higher useless people to patient ration than normal. Oh well. She supposed that that thing tended to happen when the Commander was, well, dead, the Captain was being psychologically evaluated, and there were little to no people who were actually injured.

"I wouldn't give her more drugs either cadet," Michael agreed, very glad that S'reena was awake. However, he had hoped that she'd be sleeping by now, though it appeared she was reluctant to go to sleep.
"It is up to you if you stay here or come with me," he added, "if you can convince her to sleep the better." He walked into the private room, as if he were going to check on just your regular patient, and smiled as his wife looked up. "Shouldn't you be sleeping?" he asked innocently.
S'reena looked up and smiled tiredly. "I can't sleep," she said ruefully, "I'm afraid to go to sleep." Tears formed in her eyes again, as she looked down at her hands.
Michael walked up and took her in his arms. "Shhh now, don't cry. There is nothing to be afraid of, I will be right here if you need me. Kahlan was asking for you and I will take her again tomorrow. I can't risk her calling for you when I take her, not with the captain thinking that you're dead."
"I'm now not so sure that that was such a good idea," S'reena confessed, "I am feeling rather bad about this whole situation and I believe that his current condition is my fault to start with." She looked up. "Has Yarna calmed down yet? I heard her crying when you took her out of sickbay."
Michael nodded. "She didn't stop crying until she was with Tony again. I don't understand this, but I'm going to ask Illito and Zoë to find out for me, after I've made sure that you're sleeping." He eased his wife down and tucked her in tightly, so that she couldn't fall out of bed should she be troubled by dreams again. Gently, he kissed her and ran his hand through her hair. "Sleep now," he insisted, "I will be back tomorrow."
He gave her a last kiss and left the room, then turned to Illito. "Something is wrong with my youngest child," he started, "as her father i may be overlooking something. Would you and Ms Zoë please have a look at her?"
ooc: some Romulans are born telepaths, from the old days when the Romulans had just separated themselves from the Vulcans. This gift is extremely rare among Romulans. My idea is that Yarna is somewhat empathic, due to her part Romulan heritage. S'reena is in no way telepathically or empathically inclined, nor is Michael.

OOC: Joint post between Anderson and I.
IC: "The Aerowing reports they can't reach it in time." Ops notified. The helm officer added that the Hanson could not reach it in time either. "We have about 5 minutes to come up with a way to shut that thing down, Cadet." Franklin shifted on his chair, sat up straighter then he usually did, and started entering commands. "See if you can find out what exactly is propelling that thing."
She turns to her console looking to see if she can find out. "Oh five minutes, and I thought we would be in a hurry." She says chuckling. She sees it is propelled like a rocket would be. "Sir, it is like a rocket in this case." "Specify, please." Anderson thought for a second, then her face brightened. An idea had struck her.
"Sir, we might be able to beam the torpedo away from the sun, allowing us more time."
"Hmm.... a transporter beam could destabilize the torpedo, unless..." Franklin paused, thinking. "Cadet, quickly, access the subatomic database. List all particles which neutralize chemical reactions and transfer them to my screen."
Anderson works busily at her station sending over information on Teralin, Batinium, Omnium, Plasphalt and Trinium particles, and continues to search, but finds no other substances that destablize or neutralize Uridium.
Franklin recieved the info, and thought long and hard. Anderson nudged him to make a decision as the bridge crew starts to get nervous. Meanwhile, the cadet realizes two of those destablize uridium, and looks up more information on Teralin and Trinium. She finds something interesting.
"Sir, I may have found something. Teralin and Trinium destablizes uridium. If we could find some quickly, then we might be able to make the uridium unstable. If we had Teralin, then the torpedo would be so unstable, it would simply blow itself up."
Franklin looked up. "Cadet, I believe I asked for particles which would stabilize uridium. We want to make sure it doesn't explode while we're transporting it..."
"Oh, sorry sir. I thought we wanted to stop it from reaching the sun. If we blow it up, then it would accomplish that. In this case then I wouldn't use either one I just mentioned. I will research the others to see if it serves our purpose."
Confused, Franklin decided there was logic to Anderson's plan. "Don't worry with finding other compounds, cadet. We'll be using either one of these.
"Sir, I mean I will see which one of the ones listed works the best. Sorry I should have been more clear." She says turning back to her console. "Right, well, please hurry." .... Franklin turned around, facing the cadet at tactical. "Can you synthesize enough of either Teralin or Trinium to beam it in the path of the torpedo?" Meanwhile, Franklin whispered in Anderson's ear that she had to come up with the correct compound any time soon. "Sir, I have it! Omnium is what we want." She says turning to him.
"Omnium it is then. Synthesize it and beam it into space." Franklin said turning to tactical.

“I wouldn't give her more drugs either cadet,” Michael agreed.
“It is up to you if you stay here or come with me,” he added, “if you can convince her to sleep the better.” Illito wasn’t sure that she could convince S’reena to sleep, but she decided to follow Michael anyway.
As Michael was leaving the room, he turned to Illito. “Something is wrong with my youngest child,” he started, “as her father i may be overlooking something. Would you and Ms Zoë please have a look at her?”
“I can try,” Illito responded. She really didn’t know anything about children, but she supposed that whatever she did know would have to be good enough. She just hoped that Zoë knew more.
Illito looked at Yarna, who had stopped crying and was now snuggling up to Captain Marcell. Illito was surprised to see a slight softening of the Captain’s expression, but she supposed that even people who were willing to betray their loyalties to their ship could still care about young children. Even if it didn’t seem that likely.
“I know that I don’t really know that much about children,” Illito recognized, “But it seems to me that most children are very close to their parents. Is it possible that Yarna can tell that her mother still cares for Captain Marcell, and feels similarly connected to him?” Illito asked. “Does her mood change when the Commander’s does? Like when Captain Marcell was attacking her mother, and she was trying to help Commander Hope?”

For the 2nd time the force-feild was downed and Tony was given the freedom to fufilll his wish of killing S'reena.
It was almost too good to be true, he was finally getting his chance. He gently moved the sleeping child off him and made his way over to the unprotected woman. He cut of her air supply and clenched his teeth as she struggled to release herself. Soon he was once again pulled off her. Expecting to be led back to his prison bed he was suprised when Michael Hope spun him around and yelled at him, before making him look at the stat board above S'reena. She was dead.
He was suprised, and then a strange feelig of satisfaction came over him before he began to feel strange. He looked at her and did not speak or show any emotions. Tony walked back toward his bed and sat down. Yarna was gone, Michael had carried her out of sickbay. He lay on his back and went to sleep, thinking nothing.
When he awoke, Zoe stood over him, her forehead creased in concern.
"Hello captain." She said, calmly and quietly. Yarna was beside him again sleeping peacefully.
He stared at Zoe for a moment, before he decided to say what he had been thinking.
"Take....me to.....S'reena....." The words did not come easily, and he had to force them out. Zoe considered for a moment.
"Just a moment, let me check with them." She disapeared for a moment before returning, "You may for a second." She led him out of the forcefeild and then into a separated room. S'reena lay on a biobed, not moving. Zoe stood at the doorway as he made his way over to her.
Placing his hands over S'reena's closed eyes he breathed for a few moments.
Without warning he let out a frightening shout which echoed about the room. It was the klingon death ritual. The yell continued for a few moments before he ceased and bowed his head. Then suddenly he let out a yelp and jumped backward. S'reena's eyes had opened and she was wondering what was going on.
Tony turned on Zoe, "She's....not.....dead!!"
"No, sir, she's quite alive."
At this point Tony was quite confused, and his mind could not manage to put words together to form questions. He struggled back to his bed and collapsed into it.

Having not been able to help in the torpedo situation, Paris ignores it and heads for the planet. Her side is killing her by now, and she reallly needs some kind of relief. She doesn't know if the others have found out yet, but she doesn't want to risk it.
"Sir, permission to leave for a moment, as I have to get something." She says, and is granted. She goes to stretch her legs, and walk around for a minute. Her feet take her to the sickbay on board. She looks around, and finds a strange orange gel that looks like it might help. She quickly checks in the computer, and finds its name is Aretothyne. It is a drug that will help heal broken or fractured bones no matter what their location is. She is estatic, and quickly injects herself with it not thinking of what might happen. She puts it back in its place hoping Doctor Black won't notice. She returns to the helm, and flies the rest of the way to the planet. She lands when she gets there, and all is well.
She stays on board as the doctor makes his way around the villages. She starts to check out a few things on her console, and starts to nod off to sleep.
The next thing she knows Doctor Black is waking her up. She wipes the drool off of her cheek, and wonders how long she was out. She flashes him a grin as he gives her a quizzical stare.
"What?" She says.

Illito saw that the Captain was stirring, and motioned towards Zoë. She decided that she would stay back, she had already proven how ineffective she was at calming people down and reasoning them through a situation. After all, S’reena had simply ignored her and asked for her insistence in making Captain Marcell think that she was dead. And Illito had gone along with it.
A couple of seconds later, Zoë returned, asking for permission to let Marcell see S’reena. Illito was inclined not to give it, but she didn’t really have any authority, or a knowledge as to what would be best for the Commander and the Captain. Besides, Zoë seemed certain that she was doing the right thing.
Still, Illito picked up Yarna, who was unhappy at having been left behind, and trailed Zoë and Captain Marcell. Illito was rather worried that Marcell might try to attack S’reena again if he found out she was still alive, and Yarna just seemed to be upset to have been forgotten.
Without warning, the Captain let out a frightening shout which echoed about the room. But what frightened Illito more was that Yarna was now crying. Illito hadn’t the vaguest idea what to do about it, so she hugged Yarna a little closer, thinking that Captain Marcell’s shout might have scared the small girl.
Tony turned on Zoë, “She's....not.....dead!!”
“No, sir, she's quite alive.” Zoë replied. Illito noticed that Yarna seemed to have relaxed a little, as Marcell struggled back to his bed.

S'reena was startled awake when a piercing cry echoed through the smal room, followed by an infant's hysterical crying. Her eyes snapped open and she gazed directly into Marcell's, seeing him jump back a step in surprise and confusion.
She followed him with her gaze, not saying a word. She knew exactly what he was thinking, but she was worried for him nonetheless. He seemed to have come around, and she suddenly realized what the cry had been for. Locking gazes with Illito and Zoë she gave them a rueful smile. "He hasn't lost his honour," she said softly, "and he has given me back mine by uttering the death yell, as he believed I was dead."
She gazed at Illito who was holding the crying infant close to her in an attempt to console her. "She's still crying?" S'reena asked, holding out her arms to her youngest child. The young Cardassian placed the infant into her mother's arms and instantly the girl went quieter, but continued to whimper. "I don't understand," S'reena stated, "Michael has been having the same problem. Though, she seems more relaxed now."
Looking up at the counselor, she gazed at the young Trill questioningly. "Do you think she may be one of the rare Romulan offspring bearing the gift of telepathy?"she suddenly asked, "Yarna is half Romulan, but I do not have this gift, and neither did my parents nor my brother T'Rell." She gave her youngest a tight hug. "Perhaps she should return to Tony for the moment," she suggested, "it appears that the captain could use the distraction by caring for her, and care for her he does, I know this for certain."
Then she looked around, searching for her husband. "Where is Michael?" she finally asked.
"He didn't want to stay in sickbay at present," Illito replied tersely, "he has gone to take Zoë's little boy to the daycare centre also, as he's been asked to care for the boy until further notice."
S'reena smiled. "Yes Michael does love children, it is the very reason he became a paediatrician, because he likes to work with children. His biggest reward is to see a sick child smiling because he was able to make the child feel better. He is so much better with our two girls than I am. You may have observed as such already."

YrDis was still sitting in the command chair, trying to think of something useful to do about the torpedo heading towards the Theta Aries star. The ship was out of range and there was still no warp drive. Perhaps a little more information might help. "Run a scan on the torpedo" he ordered.
There was silence on the bridge, then the science officer said "The torpedo has a cast rodinium outer casing, a standard type three warhead with an uridium payload and a impulse drive capable of sublight 0.3" the man reported.
YrDis thought for a few seconds, then said "Isn't cast rodinium vulnerable to high energy plasma bursts?"
The science officer nodded. "Yes, it breaks down the molecular cohesion of the metal, but by the time the sun breaks it down enough to affect the metal, the warhead will already in the star."
YrDis shook his head. It seemed that there was nothing that the Hanson was able to do without warp drive. YrDis turned to the ops officer. "Commander Hawking, you and Cadet Anderson take a type 9 shuttle and destroy the probe before it reaches the sun. We will continue after you at our best pace. Understood?"
<Commander Hawking and/or Cadet Anderson>
The two of them left the bridge on their way to shuttle bay 1.

Hearing the order, she responds and heads to the shuttle bay with Hawking. She knows exactly what to do, and wants to get this over with quickly. They lanch the shuttle quietly, only communicating when necessary.
Once out in space, they catch up to the torpedo almost immediately. She sees it up close, and realizes this may be more tricky than she thought.
"Alright, we need lots of Teralin to hit that thing. It should be out infront of it around 2.89 kilometers. I know we are cutting it close, but truely by the time we get there and put out enough Teralin, it is all the time we have. We only have one shot at this." She stresses, and they get infront of it and put out the Teralin just in the nick of time.
"Now we might want to get out of here." She say, but too late, and the torpedo distablizes and blows itsself up. They find themselves in the way, and get blasted.

YrDis banged his fist on the arm of his chair in an uncharacteristic display of anger. Commander Hawking and Cadet Anderson managed to catch the torpedo fairly easily and left the load of Teralin in front of it. However, they then underestimated the size of the resulting blast, which threw the tiny shuttle away from the explosion like a wood chip in a flood. He immediately ordered helm to plot an intercept course, but he had the same problem that he did with the torpedo. The shuttle was moving too fast and was too far away.
This situation seemed to be moving beyond his abilities as a counsellor. He needed some help, so opened a channel to Sickbay. "Cadet Illito, update me on the status of Commander Hope."
"She's fine, just a little weak. Why?" the Cardassian replied.
"Is she capable of performing her duties?" YrDis inquired.
Tintagel hesitated, then said "I guess that she would be alright. Just don't ask her to fight any more Maquis."
"Thank you cadet. Put Commander Hope on." There was another pause, the S'Reena's familiar voice could be heard saying "Go ahead."
"Computer, restore Commander S'Reena Hope's command codes, and remove all access restrictions." YrDis waited till the computer gave a beep, showing that his orders had been carried out. "You've been reinstated" YrDis said.
"Thank you commander, I'll be right up" the first officer said.
"I'm not sure you're needed up here as badly as you are in Engineering. We need warp drive as quickly as possible, but I'm not encouraged from the answers I'm getting. Please go wherever would be the best place to get our warp drive restored" he said.
"Acknowledged" was S'Reena's reply.

(OOC: Quite a long post, but wanted to move this along)
Jason and Rachel both make their way through the area, with Cadet Owens in tow. Jason knew a third set of hands and eyes were always useful, particularly in medical research. Jason and Rachel both had med-kits with them. He had handed Owens one too, saying he would explain its purpose later.
They approached the first group. The Borg turned to face them as they walked up. A few came forward, almost seeming to greet them.
Jason stepped ahead of Rachel and Owens. "We are here on a medical mission. Earlier I noticed that quite a few Borg had almost a form of paralysis, with their command pathways from their cortical nodes to the rest of their bodies being affected. I'm here to investigate that further and see what I can do about it. I'll need to examine all of the affected Borg, and get blood samples from everyone, including those who don't appear to be infected. Will you comply?"
There was silence for a moment, but then one spoke. "We will comply. Proceed."
Jason turned to Owens. "Do you know how to collect blood samples?"
Owens looked hesitant. "No, not really sir."
Jason nodded. "Well then, you're about to learn something. Come over here."
Jason approached the Borg that had spoken. "I'm going to take a sample of your blood. I will use a hypospray. taking it from your neck."
The Borg nodded. "Proceed."
Jason crouched down on the ground, opened his pack, and brought out the hypospray, and a vial. He explained to Owens what to do, doing so as he explained. "First, you insert the vial into the hypo like this. Next, you press the hypo to their neck like this, and press this button here. The vial will fill with blood like so. Then you take the vial out, insert a new one, and move on to the next one. Now, come over here and try on this next one."
<Tag Owens>
"Excellent, there ya go. Now if you'll check the kit I gave you you'll notice that it's full of vials and a hypo. I want to go around to the area, and collect blood samples from all the Borg that appear to be healthy." He turned to the Borg. "Instruct your drones to comply with him, please."
He paused again. "Done."
<Owens>
As Owens went off, Jason turned back to Rachel. "Now we go and see the ones who aren't healthy."
They went back to the building where he found the Borg in which he discovered the problem. He knelt down and scanned a few of them. "This is odd. The problem seems to have accelerating since I last checked. The interference is almost as severe in the lowever extremities as it would in the chest last time I saw, and its almost absolute in the chest. Which means this problem is progressive."
Rachel looked around, having compassion for the hurt beings most considered monsters. "Would that suggest a virus of some kind?"
Jason nodded. "Most likely. A cybernetic virus. Mr. Owens may prove more useful than I thought, as this is a technological ailment as well as biological. Lets get blood samples from each of these drones."
They went around, collecting blood samples from each. When they were finished, Jason stopped. "I should take a look around at the rest of the Borg in the area, but I wanna check out these blood samples."
Rachel agreed, and they headed back to the Shuttle. They walked into the make-shift Sickbay, and Jason placed the blood samples into the scanner. "Computer, scan these blood samples and report anything unusual."
"Unable to process. Please refine inquiry."
"Figures. Computer, scan for anything not usually found in Borg physiology, disregarding an uniqueness from drones' base species, and report."
"Working."
Soon, something appeared on the screen. "A virus," Rachel said.
Jason nodded. "But like none I've ever seen. An adaptative cybernetic virus. Not only causing paralysis, but I also noticed that the paralyzed areas also experience a dull pain. So its a motor paralysis, but not a sensory paralysis."
Rachel turned. "Doctor, was this supply of Aretothyne full when you set it aside for the mission?"
That's an odd question, Jason thought. "Yes, as far as I know it was. Why do you ask?"
"Because enough for a small injection is currently missing."
Jason turned, looking at the container. There was indeed a small amount missing. "Cadet Paris did excuse herself during the flight down here. Perhaps I should go check on her."
He picks up the container, and walks to the cockpit, and sure enough, theres Cadet Paris, fast asleep. He shakes her shoulder lightly. She opens her eyes, looking up at him. She wipes some drool of her cheek, then grins. "What?"
"Cadet, I found a small amount of Aretothyne missing," he said holding up the container. "Did you have anything to do with that?"
She looks at him, not responding.
"Cadet, aretothyne is a drug that's just barely out of it's experimental stages. It's side effects include drowsiness, and must be administered by an experienced physician. And if you had any broken or fractured bones, you're supposed to tell me. Now, do you know anything about this?"

Angel wasn't sure that she heard the doctor right and just stared at him when he asked her about the aretothyne. She looked at him for another second and then said, with a small tremble in her voice. "I told Ilito about my aliment and she rapped it for me before we left. She wanted me to come to sickbay as soon as I got a free moment, but I never did."
"Please don't be mad at me doctor my side was hurting me really bad and I need something to dull the pain. When I went back there I saw the Aretothyne and injected myself with it." she said with a worried look on her face.
Seeing that doctor black was listening intently she continued saying, "Doctor I knew the side effects of the drug and I also knew that it would heal my side. My father was a doctor and before I started this mission, he started to train me and show me how to treat people if ever there was a need for it. Since he was showing me how to treat injuries, he also taughted me about the different types of drugs and their uses."
"I didn't tell you about my injury because Illito had prevously wrapped it and I thought that would be good enough for the time being, but I guess that I was wrong. I did not mean to cause any problems, but now that you know about my injury, would you like to see my side?" she asked with a curious look upon her face.

Zoë took Yarna from S’reena and gave her to Captain Marcell. Illito watched her go, wondering about this odd sense of honor that the Captain lived by, that said it was the right thing to try to kill Commander Hope and then to mourn her death.
“Where is Michael?” S’reena asked a little later.
“He didn't want to stay in sickbay at present,” Illito replied tersely, “he has gone to take Zoë's little boy to the daycare centre also, as he's been asked to care for the boy until further notice.”
S'reena smiled. “Yes Michael does love children, it is the very reason he became a paediatrician, because he likes to work with children. His biggest reward is to see a sick child smiling because he was able to make the child feel better. He is so much better with our two girls than I am. You may have observed as such already.”
Illito wondered what to do. She hadn’t really seen S’reena around the children that much But she could agree that Michael was a good father. She watched S’reena for a while, but eventually S’reena seemed to get bored of trying to stay awake, and she finally fell asleep again.
A while later, S’reena awoke again, and this time was able to return to duty. Illito decided against telling the commander to take care of herself, she didn’t think it would help.
Illito looked around the sickbay, there didn’t seem to be very many patients. She could go check on Zoë and Captain Marcell, but there wasn’t any need to, and she just couldn’t understand the Captain’s motives. That might make it hard to relate to him, and it would probably not help him to continue on his path to recovery.
Illito glanced around, trying to figure out what she could do. She decided to check up on some of the patients that she had practically forgotten about with all the commotion about the Captain and Commander. She asked Matai who the ensign was that had been in sickbay, realizing that the ensign’s leg had probably healed enough for her to leave.
“Cadet Tintagel to Ensign Randell,” Illito tapped on her commbadge. “Please report to sickbay for a medical ship.”
“On my way,” replied Randell.
There, thought Illito. Now she only had to check on Paris. Illito hoped that the other cadet wouldn’t be too upset at being called away from her post, but it didn’t seem like there was very much piloting that could be done before warp power was regained. But Illito didn’t want to disturb Angel if she was sleeping. “Computer, locate Cadet Angel Paris,” Illito requested.
“Angel Paris is not on the ship,” replied the computer.
“What?” asked Illito. “Where did she go?”
“She left the ship in the Aerowing Shuttle with Dr. Black, Cadet Owens, and Nurse Mitchell,” responded the computer.
“What did she do that for?” asked Illito. “She was injured, and needed medical attention.”
“Unable to answer,” replied the computer.
Illito ignored it, and made a mental note to ask about Anderson, after she checked up on Ensign Randell.

Joan woke up and found she ached all over. She noticed Hawkins was nowhere in sight, got up ignoring her body, going to the nearest console to check the situation out. It seemed several systems were down including engines. She heads to see how she can fix it, so she can get back to the ship. She doesn't want them to worry about her and Hawkins.
It takes about twenty minutes to get everything up and running, and Hawkins helped. He seemed to not be hurt at all.
They head back to the ship, and request to land. It doesn't take long for them to get back, and things seem to be going a little better on the ship.

"Beam me directly to sickbay." She orders and feels the beam around her. It only takes a moment, and when she is in sickbay, she finally collapses.
