<Note: This takes place AFTER any response for the Captain! Thanks>
It had all been happening so fast! After the whole rock incident time seemed to speed up. She watched Commander Blayne release some sort of jolt and freed them and then, with the child still in her hands she was back on the ship and trying to help on the bridge while still keeping an eye on the child. Illito was being very helpful and so she let her take him for a bit.
Then somehow they got taken over and Commander Hope got shot, and they found the Captain and took back over the ship and now she was down in Sickbay with Illito, Anderson, Captain Marcell, and finally Commander Hope and her family. She had been keeping an eye on everyone subvertly and had seen what had been going on lately. She ahd seen some tension between Illito and Anderson but alot of times some things just needed to be worked out, she would keep an eye on it.
As for right now she had bigger issues to worry about. Anderson came over and asked her what she thought, this was what she had been waiting for. Sometimes it is easier for whatever problem for the Counselor just to let it sort itself out on its own. She had been observing and didn't see the need to intervene so far. She went over to the Captain's bed with everyone else.
"I think that the Captain needs some more rest. Illito fix me a hypospray of sonium. That should help him sleep for while and its not an anti-depressant so it won't make the situation worse. The best we can do is let him rest and calm down for while before we attempt to do anything. Commander Hope if, when you are both well, if you still have issues then my urgent suggestion is to take it up then, please please take me up on that. Besides that I need you to help me with something if you would Commander...."
Zoë picked the child up who had been standing next to her clinging to her uniform. The child wrapped his arms around her neck and Zoë rocked him.
"I found him on Theta Aries. the Marquis were using him as bait to trap us..I rescued him but..I know nothing about children..counselor though I am motherhood is one thing I am not versed in..I was hoping maybe while you were recovering you coudl take care of him for me? Please? Just until I find a home for him or I still have hopes I may find his parents though it is unlikely..if you would do this for me I would be so grateful..I can't think of a better person to trust him with..."
Zoë smiled at Commander Hope.
Cadet Illito and Anderson smiled as well. They knew what Zoë was doing and so did Dr. Hope. Zoë figured that Commander Hope's mother instinct was too strong to turn her down and that giving her a job like this would make it easier for Illito to get her to heal because she would be occupied with that and her own children. Giving them opportunity to figure out what to do. Cadet Illito chimed in
"I think that's an excellent idea." she said to the Commander
As she said that Zoë handed over the child to the Commander. His big blue eyes stared up into the Commander's face.
<Commander Hope, Illito, Anderson..whoever else in Sickbay>

<zoë's post and mine take place after any response from capt Marcell>
S'reena sighed, just what she needed another toddler to look after. Yet, as she held the boy, while Illito was still supporting her, she couldn't help but feel something for the boy. She looked down at her three-year old daughter Kahlan. "What do you think?" she asked the little one.
Kahlan giggled shyly as she gazed up at her mother and the older boy. "He can be my big brother," she said, and giggled again.
S'reena gently set the boy down, nearly toppling over herself but she just caught the edge of Marcell's bed, only just missing his arm by a few centimeters. "Yes he could be, until his parents or an adoptive family can be found." She exchanged glances with her husband, who nodded. He understood the reasoning behind Zoë's suggestion and found it a reasonably good idea. Their own two were fairly quiet children, though Yarna's current energetic antics suggested otherwise, and they were no strain on S'reena's weak constitution.
She glanced sideways, as Yarna was again sitting on Tony's chest, apparently trying to get him to return her snarls. "Will you look at that," she muttered, as only seconds ago Anderson had snatched the girl away as Marcell had jumped up to attack his XO. The short struggle had exhausted them both, though her more than him, but so far it seemed to have calmed him down.
That, and the sedative Zoë had suggested he be given. S'reena picked up her youngest, who struggled against her. "Vadi vadi!" the child cried, holding out her hands to the now sleeping captain.
Quickly, Michael moved in and took the child from his wife. "Uncle Tony needs to sleep now Yarna, you may visit him again later." He rolled his eyes at the other four women. "Why do children like their uncles more than their fathers?" he sighed, feigning exhasperation.

"At you discretion, sir, I've layed in course 38-47 mark 12" Owens said, hands hovering over the Navigation console.
"Thank you, Mr. Owens. Engage at maximum impulse" YrDis said. He watched the main viewscreen as the ship began to pull it's way clear from the storm. After several minutes, the interference began to clear and the electrical discharges and swirling subspace waves dissipated. leaving the Hanson in clear space.
The bridge crew breathed a quiet sigh of relief as they got clear and systems began working in the fashion they were supposed to. The planet of Theta Aries was a distant speck. The combat between the Maquis vessel and the Hanson had brought them away from the planet. If the warp drive was working, it would only take a few minutes to get back, but with impulse only it would take several days. "Cadet Paris. Could you give me an accurate ETA to Theta Aries at our present rate of speed?" YrDis asked.
<Cadet Paris>
"That seems a little long. Perhaps you could hook up your console to the astrometrics lab and see if there is a way to shave some time off of that" the counsellor said.
<Cadet Paris>
"Thank you, cadet Paris." After that was done, YrDis thought that he needed to get the ship ready to assist the inhabitants of Theta Aries. "Cadet Owens, we have to get the ship ready for our arrival at the planet. I want to assume that our warp drive will be fixed quickly, which means we could be at the planet is about two hours. Check on the status of the shuttle craft, in case we need them, then start organizing security and medical teams for transport to the planet."
<Cadet Owens>
YrDis squirmed in the captain's chair as the bustle of activity on the bridge increased. He had to admit that he wasn't fond of command, and wished that Commander Hope or Captain Marcell would take over. Unfortunately, that seemed unlikely. However, there was something he could do.
YrDis tapped his communicator. "Bridge to Sickbay, please report on the status of Captain Marcell and Commander Hope."
<Anyone in Sickbay>

Realizing this wasn't the best time or place to talk about their issues, she let's it go, and watches as they release the captain. She is worried he will attack someone, but realizes the children will be safe. She is glad the captain is sleeping for now.
All of a sudden, she hears a voice. "Bridge to Sickbay, please report on the status of Captain Marcell and Commander Hope."
"Bridge this is Sickbay. The captain is sleeping for now. We are still trying to get through to him. As for the commander, she is still recuperating. She will need more time before she is fully healed. I don't know much beyond that because I am not a doctor or counselor." She says hoping that will satisfy him. She sees the children playing not too far off and smiles.

He watched silently as they untied his hands and feet. As he sat still on the side of the bed they created a forcefeild around his bed. Yarna and S'reena were both inside the perimeter of energy.
Suddenly his eyes locked with S'reena's, "Captain..." she whispered, "Captain- I'm sorry...." Without warning he lunged at her wrapped his hands around her neck.
It was his chance, probably his only chance to bring himself revenge.
She tried to fight back as Yarna screamed beside her. Tony didn't even feel the tiny fists assaulting his right calf. Though S'reena hands were trying to stop him from killing her, her eyes remained calm as though willing him to stop with her thoughts.
Soon Michael and Illito forced their way between them. Illito restrained Tony placed a hypospray to his neck as Michael led his wife and daughter away.
"Anti-depressant...." He inwardly hoped as the medication was released into his bloodstream. Before he could decide if it was or not he collapsed into sleep on his bed.

Illito watched at the Captain was released, with only Yarna and S’reena within the forcefield. Without warning the Captain wrapped his hands around S’reena’s neck, completely ignoring Yarna. Illito glanced at Michael, and they quickly shut down the forcefield and stopped Marcell from killing the commander.
“I think that the Captain needs some more rest. Illito fix me a hypospray of sonium. That should help him sleep for while and its not an anti-depressant so it won't make the situation worse. The best we can do is let him rest and calm down for while before we attempt to do anything.” Illito nodded at Zoë, who had just spoken, and went to get the hypospray. As Illito placed the hypospray to the Captain’s neck, she thought she heard a slight whisper from the Captain.
“Anti-depressant....” Illito thought that there were two interpretations that could be made of his words. It seemed evident that Captain Marcell seemed very unaware of what people were saying or doing most of the time. The one person he had seemed to be truly aware of was Commander Hope. Even though he had snarled at Yarna, he had then ignored her.
There was also the obvious interpretation of the request for an anti-depressant, Captain Marcell was depressed. Illito wondered over what, she didn’t know that anything would make her that oblivious to her surroundings. Not even her brother’s death would affect her that much. Although there was an idea. “Does Captain Marcell have any siblings?” Illito asked Commander Hope quietly, trying to prevent anyone else from overhearing.
<Commander Hope.>
Illito watched as Zoë handed the child she had dubbed Kizlar to S’reena, who seemed unsure whether or not to take the boy. “I think that's an excellent idea,” Illito remarked, hoping that Zoë wouldn’t mind that she was jumping in.
Illito smiled as S’reena looked at the boy that she now held in her arms. Illito wondered if Zoë had thought about her suggestion for a name at all.

Joan was taken by surprise twice in almost the same instant. The first surprise was when the captain tried to strangle Commander Hope. She thought Cadet Tintagel had an interesting point. Did he have any family? Where they involved somehow?
She also noticed the fact that Cadet Tintagel didn't correct her report to Blayne. She realizes she is still on with him, and wants to know what is going on.
"The captain just attacked Commander Hope. He has been subdued though, sir. He is now sleeping again. Sickbay out." She says hoping her report was good enough.

Angel heard Commander YrDis ask her for an ETA and relized that she had been so deep in thought she hadn't the faintest idea. She looked at her console and answered her commmander saying, "We will be at Theta Aries in six hours, sir."
The commander had said something about hooking her console up to the astrometrics lab and she set to it itching to put the ship into warp speed and to twist and spin the ship again.
She contacted the astrometrics lab and found out that if the warp core was fixed immediatly that they could be on the planet in two hours. Knowing that might not be an option she looked to see if their was any way she could by pass a few hours and get there in half the time.
"Commander, I have found a way to detour a little and get us to Theta Ares in half the time. She heard her commander thank her and went back to her thoughts and her console.

With the captain sleeping and the commander resting watching the children, Joan slips over by where Tintagel is.
"Don't worry, I am tired of fighting," Joan says when she sees the look on Tintagel's face. "I just want to talk. I know you don't trust me, but I trust you. If the tables were turned I would have expected the same thing from you, and I think you would have jumped at the chance too if in my position. I don't think we have a trust issue at all. I think you are afraid to admit it, but I think we have a family issue. I think our fighting is how sisters act, and I think without realizing it we have become just that." She says smiling since she never really had a sister before. She is unsure of what to say next, and just looks over at Tintagel.

S'reena watched bitterly as medics subdued Marcell yet again. ~there is no honour left in him~ she thought bitterly, yet she couldn't help but feeling sorry for him. She rubbed her throat, where fingerprints were very visible, as she returned to her own bed.
To her utter surprise, Yarna hadn't wanted to leave him. ~she must feel some empathy for him~ she thought as she watched her youngest child curled up in the crook of Marcell's left arm, a thumb stuck in her mouth as she lay asleep beside him. The girl had screamed at him when he tried to kill her mother, yet Marcell had not turned onto the girl. When Michael had tried to take her away, she had continued to cry until he had put her back onto his chest. Only had she quieted down.
She was shaken out of her thoughts by a question from the medical cadet. "Does he have any siblings?" the Cardassian asked.
S'reena turned. "I'm not sure," she replied, "I believe he once told me of a sister, but I can't be certain." She pained her memory for a moment, though it was very exhausting for her to do so. "Yes, yes! He has a sister...I remember now....perhaps she can get through to him. Call Commander Blayne and tell him to look it up."
"We will," Michael interjected, "you however, will not concern yourself with this at present. You are going back to bed."
S'reena smirked at her husband. "I was already on my way," she replied. She was indeed very tired, and the brief struggle with Marcell hadn't done her any good either. ~He's insane~ she thought, as she closed her eyes.
Almost instantly, the dream returned. Again she stood before the cell that held Captain Marcell. He looked weak and drawn, as he gazed up at her. "Why?" he asked her bitterly, "why did you do it?"
"Do what?" S'reena asked. She thought she was looking after her captain by letting him sleep it off. Perhaps it was a little tactless, but the element of surprise shook him from his stupor.
Tony Marcell didn't answer her question and from this point he wouldn't look at her anymore either. S'reena lowered the forcefield and knelt before him, forcing him to look at her. "Do what captain?" she insisted.
With a roar, he pushed her aside causing her to fall flat on her back. An instant later, his hands were wrapped around her throat, cutting off the flow of air to her lungs.
S'reena shook her head, moaning as she was fast asleep, yet dreaming. Michael looked down at her and exchanged a worried glance with the other people gathered in sickbay.
S'reena tried to fight the captain off, but he was physically stronger despite his alcohol dazed condition. Mentally, however, he was currently the weaker party and S'reena doubted that he knew what he was doing. Yet, at present it was her life, or his, and she reached for the ceremonial blade that was sheathed at her waist.
She swiped the blade at him and with a roar he fell back. S'reena lay gasping for air, but it wasn't for long. Again, she swiped at him and this time the blade came away bloodied. In horror, she watched as he lay bleeding.
S'reena woke up with a cry, tears streaming down her face. Michael gathered her up in his arms and held her. "I killed him," she sobbed, "I killed him, and I can't stop it."
Quietly, Michael held out his hand and someone slapped a hypospray containing a heavy tranquilizer in his hands. Still silent, he held her close to him with one arm, while he pressed the hypospray against her throat with the other hand. He felt her relax against him, and her breating and heartbeat evened out as she calmed down.

While talking with Illito, the bridge chimes in again.
"Bridge to Anderson." She hears from a voice she doesn't recognize.
"Anderson here, what can I do for you?" She says puzzled, but not trying to sound like it.
"I have a subspace message for you. Where should I send it?" He said quickly getting straight to the point.
"Is it personal?" She says hoping the answer is a no.
"Yes, actually I am told it is a private matter. You, and if a superior officer are up to it, then it needs to be private with only the officer." She wonders what to do, and then gets an idea.
"Hold on." She says excusing herself from Tintagel's presence.
"Excuse me, sir, I was wondering if I could take my message in the doctor's office. It is kinda private, and I would really appreciate it. I also need a superior officer to attend this with me. Would you be willing?" She says. They head into the doctor's office, and then she resumes her conversation.
"Bridge, go ahead and send that message to the doctor's office." She says and hears that it is there only seconds later. She opens the channel, and to her surprise she sees Lana Williams.
"Ms. William, what a surprise." She says a little flabbergasted. She didn't think anyone would be calling.
"Well, well, Joan, you look good in that uniform. It is too bad though. You still being there goes back on that deal Star Fleet and I made. You have to be adopted to stay, and you aren't. It looks like you need to pack your bags." Lana says, and Joan's face falls.
"Sir, please make sure she is ready by tomorrow evening. There will be a transport to pick her up. I guess I will see you then, Joanie." She says ending the transmission. Joan is so surprised and shocked that she just continues to stare at the screen.

How sisters act? Illito shook her head. How little Anderson knew! Illito wasn’t looking for another sibling, or even a friend. She already had all the family that she needed. She knew how well attempts to make people part of a family that they weren’t part of originally went. Not well. Her aunt had tried it, but there hadn’t been any of the love that Illito had always associated with a family. And none of the loyalty. She didn’t feel any of that with Anderson either.
“Hmm,” Illito murmured it what could have been either agreement or disagreement. She may not agree with Anderson, but she didn’t want to start another fight. “If the tables were turned,” Illito said, smiling a little, “I doubt the Maquis would let me join them. I like Cardassia a bit too much for them.”
Illito backed off a little as Anderson answered the call, she didn’t think it was any of her business. From the tone in the officer’s voice, it didn’t seem like an official Starfleet matter. Besides, if she had to know someone would probably tell her. After all, isn’t that what sisters do? she asked herself ironically.

Michael eased his wife down on the bed, relieved that she was finally asleep and not troubled by any nightmares. He nodded at Anderson as he followed her into Black's office and listened carefully as the woman explained the condition of her starfleet traineeship to the young science cadet.
"I am afraid I cannot do that ma'am," Michael replied, "Ms Anderson is a valuable addition to this crew and we are near to completing this training exersize. Also, she may play a key part in reviving the captain, who has taken ill very recently. I fear that if she leaves now, we may lose him forever. What if the senior staff would become Ms Anderson's legal guardian?"
He had been surprised to find out that Joan Anderson was just 16 years old, which indeed made her a minor under the legal guardianship of the last orphanage she had resided. Yet, the young woman carried herself as an adult, and had been very responsible in her actions. ~save for that little stunt of hers with the Maquis~ Michael thought, but he didn't say it aloud.
"When the first officer comes back on duty, I shall confer with her," he added, "and then will get back to you on this matter. But returning Ms Anderson to you before the mission end is non-negotiable. It may ruin any further chances in starfleet for her, and we do not wish to have that on our conscience."

<Major backpost, ending after S'Reena's last post>
When Franklin entered Engineering, the entire room was empty. Checking the transporter logs, he had found out people had been beaming from Engineering to the auxiliary control room just before he arrived. What would Franklin do then? He couldn't stand around being no use while the ship was still taken over by the Maquis, so he did what any trained, but wounded science officer would do. Tend to his wounds. The throbbing of the laceration on his cheek was becoming inbearable.
Wondering if it would only add to the collection of scars he already had, Franklin looked around for the nearest medkit, and luckily quickly found one. And yes, dermal regenerators can hurt as well, especially when used by someone whose hand was not quite as steady as it should be (if it weren't for the safeties, he's have several completely new layers of skin on the left side of his face). Afterwards, while feeling slightly better, Franklin decided he'd best do something useful, trying to lock-out Maquis from the science files, for example.
When he noticed the Maquis were all being transported to the brig (seeing as there were a multitude of red dots moving towards secure areas on the map), Franklin decided to move out, stopping the first Ensign he encountered and asking for an update. The surprise was quite substantial when hearing that his own cadet, the promising Anderson, had defected to the Maquis.
"Computer, locate Cade...." Franklin quickly corrected himself, surely Anderson would've been stripped of rank by now.. "Locate Joan Anderson."
"Cadet Anderson is located in sickbay."
Cadet? Sickbay? It did not compute in Franklin's mind. Why wasn't she in the brig, why was she still in Starfleet? With a mix of puzzled and not-so-friendly looks, he made his way to the medical section, and barged into sickbay doors. Looking around, he saw a sleeping S'Reena, the captain, not quite like himself, a... huh? A toddler sleeping in the captain's arms? Looking towards the left, Franklin noticed that Anderson and a senior officer he had not met yet were discussing something serious with a monitor in the Doctor's office. Moving towards the entrance of the office, he was stopped by a Cardassian cadet.
"What in heaven's name is going on here? Why is my cadet a Maquis? What have I missed?"

Hearing what the doctor said, she feels a little better. After the call she takes a moment to collect herself before returning to the rest of the group. She didn't understand why they did this. She puts it behind her and kinda shrugs it off.
When she exits she sees her instructor talking to Tintagel. "What in heaven's name is going on here? Why is my cadet a Maquis? What have I missed?" He says not realizing she is standing right there.
"Oh, sorry, sir. It all happened quite fast. I "defected" to the maquis to get our captain back. He isn't himself just yet, and I am trying to help revive him. It doesn't seem to be working though. I don't know much beyond that which would pertain to our mission." She says hoping her feelings of hurt, betrayal, sadness, and anger don't show. She has an idea, and wonders if it might work. She excuses herself and walks over to a console.
She brings up the captain's star fleet record, and finds her thoughts are occupied with something else to. She sends a brief coded message to the bridge saying it is for Dr. Black's eyes only. Satisfied with what she sent, she gets back to work on reading the record in front of her. It isn't long before she gets down to the captain's family status.
"Hey, Zoe, would you please join me. I think I have found something." Joan says waiting for Zoe to join her. It doesn't take long for Zoe to get over by her side.
"It would seem our dear captain has a brother who is living on earth, and had a sister there too until recently. It just said she is deceased, and doesn't mention how she died. Do you think this is what started these last few events leading him here?" She says hoping this will be the missing piece to their puzzle.

Illito watched as Dr. Hope and Cadet Anderson entered the Medical office, and wondered what she should do now. As she started to move towards the now-peacefully sleeping Commander Hope, someone charged into the sickbay, seeming very frustrated. Illito saw him start to make a bee-line for Anderson, and moved to cut him off. She doubted that Anderson would appreciate being interrupted, and, even if Illito didn’t and couldn’t think of the other Cadet as a sister, she could still respect her privacy.
“What in heaven's name is going on here? Why is my cadet a Maquis? What have I missed?” the instructor, Illito thought he was in charge of Science, demanded.
Before Illito had a chance to answer, Anderson finished talking to whoever she had been talking to on the viewscreen, and answered for herself. “Oh, sorry, sir. It all happened quite fast. I “defected” to the maquis to get our captain back. He isn't himself just yet, and I am trying to help revive him. It doesn't seem to be working though. I don't know much beyond that which would pertain to our mission.”
Anderson then excused herself to take a place at a console. Illito glanced at the instructor that was now left with her, and noticed that he appeared to have quite a few wounds, not counting the freshly-healed one on his cheek. Not knowing whether or not she should try to converse with him, Illito did the only thing she knew how to do properly, she volunteered to heal his injury better.
“I might be able to help heal some of your injuries,” she offered.

A Cadet called from the Ops station. "Doctor Black? Theres a coded message for your eyes only."
Jason nodded, then walked over. The Cadet stepped aside, and he opened the message. It was Anderson. He read it, then erased the message. "It's no time to thinking about something like that right now. That'll have to wait. I have to get down to the planet."
He tapped his comm-badge. " =/\= Black to Mitchell. Is this equipment loaded into the Aerowing, Rachel? =/\= "
=/\= Yes, Doctor. We're ready to go down here. =/\=
" =/\= Acknowledged =/\= Paris, I'm going to need a pilot on this, so you're with me." He tapped his commbadge again. =/\= Black to Cadet Owens, meet us at the Aerowing Shuttle Dock on Deck 9. =/\= "
<Owens>
A few minutes later, all 4 were aboard the Aerowing Shuttle. Jason turned to Paris and Owens.
"You two are probably wondering what all this is about. I ran into some strange readings on the Borg. I'm not sure, but I believes they're suffering from some sort of ailment. We are taking the Shuttle because some of this equipment is too delicate to transport. Mr. Owens, you are here just in case we have technological problems. So, if there are no questions, Ms Paris, take us out," he said, indicating the pilot's seat.

Having given Zoe the information she needs, she walks over to relieve her instructor of Cadet Tintagel. Commander Franklin seems to be doing better, and wants to leave for duty. She excuses herself from Zoe, and walks back over to them. By the time she gets over to Tintagel, Franklin has left.
"Well I see you got rid of your patient. You look like you have something you want to say. What is it?" Joan says waiting for Tintagel to respond.

“I don’t have very much to say,” Illito replied to Joan’s question. “I just wish that you would quit comparing us to sisters. We aren’t. And I don’t really care if you never had a family and want to find one now; it’s not that easy. Being part of a family isn’t something you choose. You just are. And it’s not something that can be easily replaced or found anew. It takes a kind of understanding of each other, the other people’s thoughts and motivations...and it’s very hard to achieve. And I guess that when you say we are behaving like sisters, it just makes me think of how there’s a kind of loyalty between siblings, that you can’t just create because you were bored, or lonely. And it’s not something that can be made to happen quickly. I barely know you. So even if I did trust you, I don’t think that I would call you my sister, and say that we are behaving like sisters. Because there’s more to sisters than how they behave around each other, and maybe even than how they feel about each other.”
Illito glanced at Joan, trying to be sure that she wasn’t confusing the other Cadet too much. “I guess that I want to say that I’m sorry for snapping at you, but I feel that comparing someone you barely know to your sister, dismisses the relationship with that sibling, rather than elevating the relationship with the person you don’t know.”

Joan didn't expect this, and realized she was right. She had seen sisters around, and saw something else going on and not just a fight.
"I'm sorry, Cadet Tintagel, I didn't realize what I was saying meant so much to you. I won't do it again. We are friends though, right?" She says with a bit of enlightenment behind her now.

“I'm sorry, Cadet Tintagel, I didn't realize what I was saying meant so much to you. I won't do it again. We are friends though, right?”
“I guess,” Illito replied. “We could be friends.” Friends was a word that had no emotional significance attached to it, at least not for Illito. She could accept that they were friends, even if she wasn’t quite sure what it meant. She hoped trust wasn’t a requirement for friendship, because then she didn’t think she could ever be a friend. She had never been much for trusting people. She would listen to their advice, and occasionally even follow it, but as a general rule she trusted her own judgment above that of other people.
“Want to shake on it?” asked Anderson, offering her hand.
“I would prefer not to,” Illito replied, ignoring it. “But it isn’t meant as an insult. Merely,” Illito paused. “It’s merely a personal preference.”

“Want to shake on it?” She asks Anderson, offering her hand and not thinking again.
“I would prefer not to,” Illito replied, ignoring it. “But it isn’t meant as an insult. Merely,” Illito paused. “It’s merely a personal preference.”
"Don't worry, I'm not offended. I try and keep myself open to other people's preferences. Sorry about that. Won't happen again." She says withdrawing the hand. She isn't sure what to do or say next.

<jumping yet again a few hours.....>
During the past few hours, S'reena had been startled awake several times, though she couldn't remember why when she woke up a final time. From her bed, she had a perfect glance onto Tony's and she saw her daughter had snuggled up against him, and both appeared to be sleeping peacefully.
Something still troubled the Romulan first officer, and she beckoned the CMO cadet over. "Cadet, I am in need of your assistance," she whispered, as the Cardassian approached, "the captain seems quite insistent on killing me, so I believe we should give him that ilusion. When he attacks me a next time, I want you to inject me with a neural paralyzer so that Marcell will see a flatline. Only then will he be convinced that I am dead."
<Illito>
"Yes I am aware of the dangers, especially with my current weak constitution, but if that is what it takes to get him back, I am willing to take that risk," S'reena argued. "If you would be so kind to tell him to please bring my youngest daughter to me, that will do the trick quite nicely."
She watched as the Cardassian walked off to prepare the hypospray, then woke up the captain. Marcell snarled at her, but to her credit, the cadet wasn't the least bit impressed. S'reena lay back, preparing herself for what was to come. It was fortunate that neither of them were currently wearing their species' traditional weapons, otherwise the dangers would be very much increased and the last thing S'reena wanted was to kill her CO in self defense.
Yet, when Marcell approached, she still wasn't prepared for his vehemence. When she opened his eyes, and locked gaze with him, the look of hatred in his eyes scared her. She had promised herself to just let it pass, but now that he attacked her, she found herself trying to wrench his hands away from her. She gasped for air, as the supply was cut off. A sideward glance told her that her daughter was still safely sleeping, as she had expected.
Suddenly, the captain was yanked away forcefully and she felt the hiss of a hypospray against her throat. Before losing consciousness, she heard the monitor beeping frantically, and Michael's cry of outrage.
Michael stood over Marcell, wrenching the man's arms onto his back as he forced him to look at the monitor. He had been unaware of the request his wife had made of the medical cadet, and his rage was real. "You killed her," he raged, then pushed the captain away forcefully, sending him stumbling as he tried to catch his balance. Two security guards led the part Klingon CO back to his own bed, and re-activated the forcefield.
<Marcell>
The human doctor gazed at the flatline in sorrow, oblivious to the cadet injecting his wife with yet another medication. He looked up in surprise when suddenly the flatline became a heartbeat again, and he gazed at the cadet. "What....." he started, unable to continue. He stared at her in openmouthed amazement as suddenly he understood. "Why wasn't I told?" he finally asked, almost accusingly. He didn't understand why he wouldn't be told.
<Illito>
When he looked over his shoulder, he saw that Yarna had woken up. Looking around, he spotted his other daughter sitting in a chair beside her mother's bed, asleep. Yarna, however had woken up, and was demanding attention. Michael held his breath as he watched his youngest reach up to the raging captain. He trusted his wife's instincts, and he too knew that, however insane he might be, Marcell would not hurt a child. He didn't, however, share S'reena's beliefs that the infant was getting through to the man.

Illito looked at the Commander. “I’m not sure that’s a very good idea,” she objected. “I think that you are still too weak.”
“Yes I am aware of the dangers, especially with my current weak constitution, but if that is what it takes to get him back, I am willing to take that risk,” S'reena argued. “If you would be so kind to tell him to please bring my youngest daughter to me, that will do the trick quite nicely.”
Illito went to prepare the hypospray, then cautiously approached Captain Marcell. When she attempted to wake him, he snarled at her. but it was just a snarl.
Marcell attacked S’reena quickly, but Illito moved to inject the hypospray. Illito heard the monitor beeping frantically, but was more concerned with keeping an eye on Dr. Hope. He didn’t seem to be taking this very well, but that was only to be expected, most people weren’t very rational when someone they loved had just died. Illito quickly inserted the second hypospray into S’reena, reviving her.
“What.....” Dr. Hope started, before trailing off. “Why wasn't I told?” he finally accused.
“Because if we wanted Captain Marcell to think that S’reena was truly dead, your reaction had to have been genuine. There’s no way that you could fake that kind of deep sorrow. It didn’t really matter whether or not I knew, because the Captain wouldn’t expect any extreme reaction out of me,” Illito explained.

(*thumbs up* well responded Illito!)
Michael sighed as he picked up Kahlan and set her on his lap as he sat down in the chair. "A hint would've been appreciated though. How would you feel if you lost a loved one twice within several days?" Yet now that the young doctor-to-be had explained her motive, he understood better. Had his reaction not been as it had been, Marcell might not have been convinced.
Then he looked up. "He has clear view on this bed," he remarked, "it would be best if we moved her out of his line of sight." He looked around and spotted a bed in one of the isolation wards. "That'll do. Kahlan, please go overthere to that corner with Ms Tintagel please," he told his daughter, then turned back to Illito. "Could you please prepare that bed? I'm going to carry her over there, so that when Marcell comes to his senses he'll not spot our little trick."
As Illito moved off with his eldest daughter, who happily bounced around the young woman, oblivious to the grim sphere that was hanging in sickbay, Michael scooped up his still unconscious wife up in his arms. He noted how light she was, but he didn't find it odd as since she'd been in sickbay the past several days she'd been mostly sleeping, and had hardly eaten anything. ~I must make sure she eats something when she wakes up next~ he thought, as he carried her to her new place to rest and recover.
"I'll stay with her," he told Illito, "and make sure she eats something when she wakes next. Any idea how long that might take?" Michael didn't know how long it would take for somene to regain consciousness after having been injected with a neural paralyzer, and it's antidote,; he'd never used it before.
