For the first time in what seemed like years Matt found himself wanting to go back to work. He was still sitting there resting along side Kedzie, and Travor. They had been talking for the last twenty minuts about themselves, there families and why they joined Starfleet, except for Kedzie and why she wanted to train in a Starfleet ship.
Matt had gathered from listening to the rest of the conversations going around in Engineering that the virus, was almost completely gone from the ship, which couldn't be soon enough. The poeple affected by the virus were getting better. Matt lit up when he heard the Commander Hope was back and that the kids were okay.
"Hey guys what are we going to do?" Travor asked. Both Kedzie and Matt started thinking of what they could do.
"Well we could help Commander Blayne, but he seems to have it under control," Matt said. At that moment Commander McCormick's pet walked in. Matt was so glad to see Leena.
"Hey Leena," Matt said as it started to get closer. Many people still didn't feel comfortable with her there, but to Matt Leena was just like any other person, except he could pet her.
"I've been fine Matt," Leena answered.
'How's Joan?" Matt asked.
"She feeling better," Leena said. For the last couple of minutes Travor and Kedzie were very quiet, it seemed that they both were a little taken aback.
"Leena I would like to introduce to you once again Skikako Kedzie, and for the first time Travor Gonto," Matt said as he was introducing each other.
"Hello once again," Kedzie sadi. It took Travor a little bit of time and courage to say hello.
"Hello I'm Travor Gonto," Travor said shaking.
"Hello Travor, I'm Leena, nice to meet you," Leena said. Pretty soon all four of them were talking in there little corner of engineering.
About thirty minutes of talking they all heard Commander Blayne say he was ready to try the nanoprobes, if this worked this virus would be gone forever. Everyone in Engineering stopped working and turned to him waiting for the Captian to give the order to begin.

Before Doctor and Commander Hope left, Jason came over. "Let me know if any of you are having any health troubles, okay?" he said, comfortingly.
Michael nodded. "We will, thank you Jason," he said, and they headed towards the door.
Jason went back over, and dropped down heavily onto the chair in his Office. He saw a few PADD's piled on his desk, and picked up the first one to read it, as it appeared to be a progress report. He saw one of them was a message notifying them that the replicators had been purged of the virus. Jason was relieved to read it.
A few moments later, E'Liana came in. She noticed him sitting there "Oh, hello Doctor. I just came in to write up a couple of reports." She looked over at the sound of the Hopes leaving Sickbay, then turned back to look at him.
Jason watched them leave, and just looked through the window as the closed door. "Such a strong marriage. Rather reminds me of one of my older brothers and his family." He turned back to her. "I'm the youngest of 6 and the only one not married yet, though my mother's been pestering me about that lately."
He looked at her in somewhat tired state. "Sit down, you look like you need it," he said, indicating the chair across the desk. She sat down hesitantly at first, but then sank down into the chair. "I've just been reinstated as Chief Medical Officer, though I am on probation. I must apologize for the burden unnecessarily placed on your shoulders. You've been asked to deal with more than you should have to on a training mission, but you've handled it well. I commend you for that."
He picked up the PADD he had just been reading. "According to this progress report I just found, it seems that the virus has been purged from the replicators. We are free from that danger, at least for now."
She nodded. "Thats good news. Given that and the fact that the virus appears to be irradicated, shall we cancel the medical emergency status?"
Jason glanced at the report again, then shook his head. "No, not yet. Though the immediate problem is taken care of, the computer virus hasnt yet been purged. I prefer not to think about what it might come up with in desperation, but until I hear from Engineering that the virus has been fully purged from this ship, I won't cancel it. I will however, lower us down to Medical Alert status."
He put the PADD down. "So, what have you thought about your training mission?"

Having heard what was needed, she wondered what she could do. She knew a little about nanoprobes, but she wasn't sure what they wanted from her.
Leena was happy to see Kedzie and Matt again. She was also happy to meet another new friend, or at least she hoped he would become a friend to her.
"Well any friend of Kedzie or Reynold's is a friend of mine." She says smiling and enjoying being petted.
OOC: I'm sorry this is short, but it is the best I can do for now. I haven't been able to read up on the mission yet, just this page. I will try, but now I have a time limit and three characters. And no that isn't an excuse.

Kedzie talked to Matt and Travor some more, and she apologized once again to Travor for telling him that the plasma manifolds needed cleaning. She didnβt think that she would have felt that guilty, but he had been so willing to do it.
About thirty minutes of talking followed, during which Kedzie began to feel that she knew a little about Travor, and a little more about Matt. The conversations stopped, however, when Commander Blayne said he was ready to try the nanoprobes. Kedzie stopped talking, and almost felt like she should hold her breath, before she realized that was a stupid idea. And it wasnβt terribly likely to make Commander Blayneβs mixture of nanoprobes work.
Kedzie noticed that most of the other people in engineering had reacted similarly, as if their pause from working would make the virus disappear. Still, it wasnβt a wholly useless approach, since at least they would all hear if the cure had worked or not, and the jobs that everyone would have to do next really relied on whether the cure worked or not. It didnβt make much sense for them to do work that was later proved unnecessary, or to start on some type of diagnostic that would only serve to tie up necessary resources.
"Do you know what we should do next if the cure doesn't work?" Kedzie quietly asked Matt and Travor. "Or, for that matter, if it does work?"

Jordan had managed to slip into the background unnoticed and had watched the conversations between S'reena and E'Liana and Michael. She wanted to help very much but she knew she was still not truly fit for duty in others eyes and also in her own though she tried to convince herself otherwise. Draco tried to reassure her but she couldn't get over the cold feeling in her stomach from the knowledge of what she had done. Tears started to make their way down her cheeks and she left sickbay. She went back to her quarters and locked the doors. She then raced back to the bathroom where her stomach was emptied, though there wasn't anything in it to begin with. She hadn't eaten in a very long time but she didn't feel hungry in the slightest. She had refused to look in the main room when she had entered her quarters for obvious reasons then went to the bed and lay down on it. She was shivering but she knew that there was nothing wrong with her, it was just nerves. She wished she had some sort of contact with her old friend, M'Tias. That's when her PADD beeped, telling her she had a message. She sat up and began the message. She gasped when she saw it was M'Tias. He looked the same as ever with his long, auburn hair pulled back in a ponytail at the base of his neck and his dark brown eyes that you almost thought were black at times. He had the same grin on his face that he had had when they first met as children. He was tan from the days dragonriding and Jordan smiled when she saw something new on him. He had an earing and it looked like a fang. Though where he had gotten it, Jordan had a feeling she didn't want to know. He began his message to her.
"Is this thing on? F'lar, how does this work?"
She saw F'lar come into view on the screen and he smiled into the screen and then laughed. He told him it was on and M'Thias opened his mouth then closed it in embarassment. F'lar left the screen and M'Thias started talking again.
"Hi Jordan. How are thin's in Starfleet going with ya? Everyone here misses ya greatly and that includes the dragons. Especially Ramoth, Mnementh, and Mardus. You were one of the few who could understand what they were all thinkin'. Thin's have seemed pretty slow around here but that's probably just because Threadfall has ceased for a while now."
He paused and seemed to be looking around as if to make sure that no one was there then continued.
"The truth Jordan is that I miss ya most of all. A part of me has seemed to have gone missin' since ya left on that ship. I want to come see ya but I know that it isn't a possibility with Mardus and my duties as a dragonrider. I only wish that ya could come back to Pern if only to visit for a short time."
His eyes were no longer looking in the direction of the screen and she saw a shape in the background that she recognized to be Mardus. Mardus put his head behind M'Thias' back and pushed gently. M'Thias looked behind him and smiled. Although Jordan was not there, she could sense that Mardus was telling him something. He began speaking again.
"Jordan, you're one of the few friends who was able to put up with me for all the time we've known each other."
His eyes came back and they were shining brightly. Jordan heart was racing in anticipation. Draco had hinted at a secret he had found out when Jordan had been saying good-bye to M'Thias when she was leaving Pern. He held up his hand with the middle and third finger lowered and just showed it to her. The message then ended with that look on his face and the hand symbol that meant only one thing. She put the PADD down and laid down on her bed thinking about Pern. She hoped that no one would come to see her as it would just bring her back to the present and would put her back into the sullen mood she had finally gotten out of.

Blayne had been waiting for the captain to answer his question, and he finally received the go ahead to try the cure for the virus that was captured on the bridge. He called up to Reman. "Go ahead, Jared" The cadet nodded and waved then disappeared from view.
Anxiously, Blayne shifted back and forth from foot to foot as he waited for the result. Quietly, he wondered what the heck they were going to do if this didn't work out. After several minutes, Jared voice shouted "Come on up, Commander."
Quickly, Blayne climbed up to the bridge where Jaren and his team were moving around with tricorders, examining every part of the bridge. "Report" Blayne said as he sat down in the captain's chair.
Reman nodded and quickly conferred with the rest of the team. "We need to keep scanning, but the cure seems to have worked. The bridge is now virus free."
Blayne closed his eyes. Finally. He opened a shipwide channel. "This is commander Blayne. The bridge is clear of the virus. I need a command crew up here right now. Bridge out..."

Damion heard the call from the bridge for a commande crew and sat up sharply. He wondered if he was ever gonna have this new arm fitted as he was missing alot of the mission waiting for it .... He saw the doctors talking at the other side of the room and decided enough was enough .
He sat up and walked across medi bay where there was a table of hyposprays and was careful to pick up the pain killer and injected it into his shoulder. He left the medi bay and headed to his quaters , he struggled to change his jacket and pinned up the sleeve to his shoulder to compensate for the missing arm then ran his hands through his short hair and left his qaurters.
He headed straight for the bridge , and stepped into his possition at the security console. The other staff on the bridge so far were too busy too really notice him so he just got on with trying to fix his console with out any fuss.
After a few minuites he tried to switch full tactical control to the bridge but it failed so he just tried to get on with it .
Just then ghost stepped onto the bridge and walked up to damion.
"Damion , i have been sent to take you back to sickbay" "Im not feeling sick ghost" "Come on mate you need to go back down as soon as i find you" Ghost reasoned with him .
Damion hit a few buttons on the console then stared up at ghost .
"Actually the internal sensors arent a hundred percent so it mnay be a while before you find me"
Ghost paused and grinned slightly .. "OK man ill keep looking for you but if BeTorfinds you first youll regret it"
"Thanks ghost , by the way i might be in engineering , and if im not there you might be able to help from down there" Damion gave a wink and ghost smiled as he stepped onto the turbolift

Engineering burst into cheers, when Commander Blayne announced that the ship was virus free. When Matt, Kedzie, and Travor heard the call to report to the bridge they quickly did so.
Once the three cadets got to the bridge they all got to their stations. As soon as Matt and Kedzie got to the operations station, they ran scans of the ship, and diagnostics. They had to be sure the ship was completely virus free.
"Well I'm glad the virus is over," Matt said with a smile to Kedzie.
"Me too," Kedzie said hoping that they were right.

Joan was summoned back to the bridge with her cadets. She noticed what Reynolds had said and smiles.
"Good work. I hope we never have to deal with this again." Joan said really relieved. She smiled and felt funny. She sneezed, and then the funny feeling left. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she knew she had yet to report to sickbay having this virus in her. She noticed it didn't do much, and then she sneezed again. She wondered if she was infectious. She didn't like sickbay or doctors, and hoped no one ordered her to leave for that awful place again. She looks over to find neither of her science cadets had returned again, and she takes up the science station for now. She opens a comm link with ops.
"So, what exactly did those scans show cadet?" She says hoping this will give them something to do for a moment, and for her to think.

"Damion to ghost are you in engineering yet?"
The reply crackled over the comm line.
"I'm here , what do i need to do?"
"Ensign barns was running a security backup program from consoles six down there , help him switch back the ISO-linear chips so that i can resume control from here." Damion said and waited for about a Minuit then a part of his console flashed .
He hit about 12 instructions onto the machine and the security monitors behind him fired up displaying the ship schematics and the shield con-fig.
"thanks ghost i think thats all you can do from there , i just have to repair a few connections now to get full control but it should be OK cos an engineer has already sealed most of it."
"OK mate , I'm heading to Deck 15 to check security relays from there , let me know if you need anything" "OK ghost , bridge out"
Now i just have to do a little bit of work and i will have a fully operational terminal Damion thought to himself.
=A= Damion to Jared could you join me on the security station please =A=

OOC: Sorry I havenβt posted for a few days, as I said before my net connection wasnβt working properly but it seems to be up and running now *fingers crossed*. So forgive me whilst I back-post a little..
IC:
β¦I will however, lower us down to Medical Alert status. So, what have you thought about your training mission?"
EβLiana was about to reply to Dr Black when she heard a call from the main room. Poking her head round the door, she heard Damion moan about not yet having his arm. βWeβll have it ready soon, Damion. I still need Cadet Jaredβs help with it and heβs on the bridge. Iβm sorryβ¦β
Sitting back down in the chair in the Office, trying to ignore the look of annoyance on Damionβs face, she answered the original question.
βThe mission? Hmmβ¦well, it certainly was βinterestingβ. I canβt fail you on that. Also hard work, but what isnβt nowadays? Mind you, my father would kill me if he heard me complain about something being too much hard work, according to him thereβs no such thing, but thatβs Klingon men for you.β She raised a sardonic eyebrow. βI also think Iβve learned an awful lot, not only about medicine but about how to handle people. I know many think Iβm tooβ¦abruptβ¦for their tastes, but when youβre trying to get the job done, itβs what is needed. Admittedly, Iβm not always as compassionate as one could be, but I get the job done. Anyway, this is my TRAINING mission, Iβm here to learnβ¦β She smiled slightly.
Dr Black nodded in agreement to what she said.
βSo how about you? What do you think of this mission?β She asked the CMO.
"This is commander Blayne. The bridge is clear of the virus. I need a command crew up here right now. Bridge out..."
He was about to answer when EβLiana got up suddenly, looking outside. βDid you hear the doors open?β
Black looked puzzled. I donβt think so, but then again, I donβt have Klingon hearing.β He got up also. Together, they walked into the main Sickbay and EβLiana almost growled in frustration.
βThat impatient Pβtagh! He could not wait for his new arm! These things take time if theyβre to be done properly. What use is a one-armed Cadet on a Bridge during this sort of timeβ¦Computer, Locate Damion Jhukhat.β
βUnable to comply.β
Jason said. βTheyβre not up and running yet, still a few bugs to sort out. How about we go and look for him?β
βNo.β She replied. βYou stay here, youβre the CMO and thereβs still patients. Besides, I know where heβs goneβ¦Have a look at this whilst Iβm goneβ She said, going back into the Office and retrieving a PADD about Damionβs new arm, and then she was out in a flash.
Arriving on the Bridge, BeTor took a moment to look around, she hadnβt seen it before. Then she saw Damion. She tried to calm herself as she walked up to him.
Placing a hand on his shoulder and making him jump, she said βHello again. Fancy seeing you here, especially when I didnβt give you permission to leaveβ¦β
βIs there a problem Cadet?β Inquired McCormick. βYes there is, Lieutenant. Neither myself or Doctor Black gave Mr Jhukhat here permission to leave Sickbay. He still needs to rest and we require his assistance building his new arm.β
McCormick looked alarmed as EβLiana said this, taking a sidelong glance at Damion and noticing that his mechanical arm was indeed no loner there.
βI need to take him back to sickbay. Ah, hello Cadet Jared when youβre finished here please come to Sickbayβ She said, noticing Reman enter the Bridge. He merely nodded and carried on with his work.
<Tag Damion>
Just as McCormick was about to reply, she sneezed twice. EβLiana looked at her. βMaybe you should join Damionβ¦you donβt look too good.β

OOC: backposting to the removal of the virus from the bridge.
Blayne shouted up the captain's go-ahead from the deck below. Jared waved to show he had heard and then went back to his box of nanoprobes. He pressed the little switch that would release the blighters onto the virus like lions onto wilderbeest. McCormick watched the progress of the nanos on her tricorder; slowly they started dissecting the virus, then picked up speed as they adapted to its form. Soon enough, the virus was gone; fallen prey to so many tiny predators which now sought something else to attack. The closest thing was the ship's systems, so McCormick spoke up:
'Cadet Yevar, now please' she said
Yevar triggered the EM pulse. There were no dramatic blasts of blue energy or huge explosions, just the sudden sound of silence as the crew still on the bridge listened quietly and the now familiar sound of the virus attempting to possess the crew had died too.
Jared leaned down into the turbolift shaft again.
'Come on up, Commander.' he shouted down to Blayne.
Quickly, Blayne climbed up to the bridge where Jared and his team were moving around with tricorders, examining every part of the bridge. 'Report' Blayne said as he sat down in the captain's chair.
Jared nodded and quickly conferred with the rest of the team. 'We need to keep scanning, but the cure seems to have worked. The bridge is now virus free.'
=/\= Jared to engineering teams, you can begin reconnecting the severed systems again now=/\= The process was quite simple; bridge the gaps that so many phasers had created and soon enough the bridge was half back online. Enough that is that it would be worth crewing. They left the bulky EMP device in position in front of the captain's chair in the middle of the bridge until they could transport it to somewhere else on the ship.
Blayne called for the command crew over the shipwide channel: 'This is commander Blayne. The bridge is clear of the virus. I need a command crew up here right now. Bridge out...'
After a few comings and goings, Jhukat called Jared to the security station. As he approached, Dr BeTor reached Jhukat first and told him in no uncertain terms to return to sickbay. She also asked Jared to go to sickbay too. He was somewhat preoccupied with the virus description he was writing and so simply nodded, but when he had finished as much as he could at that point, he went down. He would need Dr BeTor's help after all to finish with the description.
He entered sickbay and saw her doing what doctorly things doctors usually do. 'I'm here now, want to do Jhukat's arm now before he runs away again?' he asked jovially.

If there was one person more relieved than anyone to be called to the bridge, it was Dharma Meri. She got up from her bed and pulled on her uniform. She'd had a few hours of sleep, and felt considerably refreshed. After gulping down a mug of strong black coffee and had a croque monsieur, she jogged up to the bridge. Once she got there, she received a very curious look from both Crave Wesson, and Captain Tony Marcell. The latter even dared casting a glare at her.
Meri glared right back at him, though she realized that she shouldn't even be on the bridge. With half the senior staff either ill or off duty, she knew she was needed. "I am more of use here, than confined to my quarters," she stated brusquely. With her background in operations, she was indeed of more help on the bridge and she hoped Marcell would let her stay.
<Marcell>
In sickbay, S'reena too woke up feeling more refreshed than before. When she tried sitting up, she could do so without assistance, though she soon found Michael hovering over her. "Please, I feel fine!" S'reena exclaimed, somewhat disgruntled at being cooped up in sickbay.
Unassisted, she walked over to the bed which Kahlan and Yarna had occupied, but she found the bed empty. "Where are they?" she querried, gazing at her husband.
Michael smiled as he wrapped his arm around her waist and gently turned her around so she could see into the doctor's office. "They're playing," he said, "come let's see if our beloved trainee will release your from sickbay so that we can go for a little walk. I'm sure that she doesn't mind watching the kids, otherwise we'll ask Jordan."
S'reena frowned. "You sure?" she asked, "I've heard this woman was pretty crazy."
"Not anymore," Michael said, "in fact I think she'll be glad to do it. It would get her mind off the guilt she's feeling." He tapped his combadge. "Doctor Hope to Doctor Mackler, have you got a minute? Would you like to watch my children for a bit? They're currently playing in the sickbay office. Thank you ever so much."
<Mackler>
"See?" Michael said, as he directed S'reena towards BeTor. "E'Liana, would you think S'reena's fit to come have a walk around the ship? I think she's aching to be out of sickbay for a while. And yes I'll make sure that she doesn't work for a minute, in case you're worried about her doing work." He winked at the cadet. "Don't tell me to get to know my wife...I know her better than she does herself."

OFF: Thank you to Mr. Blayne for giving my go ahead to the bridge- I've had a busy week! ON: As Tony left sickbay he was accostered by the extrememly happy looking Doctor Hope. He was talking very fast and before Tony could figure out what he was saying the Doctor had given him a hug. Tony patted the man awkwardly on the back and watched amused as the doctor realized he had just hugged the captain.
When Tony arrived in Engineering it was extremely loud as everyone rushed around accomplishing their specific tasks. Tony had come to evaluate the status of the virus, but didn't quite see a particular person in charge.
But before Tony could ask for a report a leuitenant rushed over to him, out of breath.
"Captain, Commander Blayne is asking for the go-ahead to begin the asssimalation of the virus on the bridge."
"By-all-means, leuitenant!" Tony shouted and tapped his own combadge, "Marcell to Blayne- Tell them they have my permisssion!" Yrdis gave back a affirmative answer and then the whole of Engineering paused waiting to hear if the whole, complicated, heavy, time-eating plan had worked.
"'This is commander Blayne. The bridge is clear of the virus. I need a command crew up here right now. Bridge out..." The room broke out in yells and little victorious gestures.
A bunch of cadets in the corner who seemed to be doing nothing but chatting jumped up and headed for the bridge. Tony went behind them.
When he reached the bridge everyone was very busy but each had a smile on their face, communicating how nice it was to push a button and have it do what it was SUPPOSED to do.
Yrdis relinquished the captain chair to him. At that same moment Dharma Meri came up and requested permission to join the command crew. Tony didn't want to grant it but knew they needed people to work.
"Fine, take the secondary operations console, but you are sill releived of duties until you complete the sessions with the counselor.
"Mr Reman!" Tony shouted and the cadet marched over.
"Yes, captain?"
"What systems are reconnected to the bridge? Do we have enginnering, navigation, and operations yet?"
"Yes sir, but there is few others that are currently being reconnected, it'll take some time."
"That sounds like enough systems to move. We don't want to be out here any longer than we have to be, this ship is going to need an entire overhaul when we get back to base. Thank you cadet."
"Mr. Gonto," Tony said seeing the cadet had made it to his station, "Please set a course for Starbase Conqueror. Warp 5. Engage."

Damion didn't argue with BeTor , he had already decided he was on borrowed time from sickbay and would need to go back when she got there.
He looked up at her and grinned slightly
"Your better looking when your angry ..E'Liana"
She didn't seem amused and Damion was wondering if it was the sarcasm or merely using her first name that annoyed her so much , either way he walked straight past her and onto the turbo lift
turning back he shot a glance at the surprised Klingon woman.
"Give you a ride??"
she stepped onto the lift and muttered something Klingon under her breath.
"Deck five" they both said at the same time , engaging the lift into action.
....................................................................................
When they got to sickbay BeTor walked through to the other side of the room and started looking at the medical console. Damion couldn't decide if she was preparing for the surgery or trying to calm down.
Jared walked in the room clutching a padd and gave Damion a slight nod as he walked over to join the Klingon medical cadet. Soon after Ghost came walking through the door and walked over to Damion.
"How you holding up mate?"
"just like vacation" Damion replied
It wasn't anything like vacation , the pain killers wore off too quick and he felt very tired but was not about to complain now , secretly he was starting to like and respect BeTor alot and didn't want to hassle her even more.
Damion called out too the cadets working on the specifications , all in trill units.
"Need any help with that you guys?"

"So, what exactly did those scans show cadet?" Joan asked over the comm.
βThe scans showed that the ship, while not yet operating at full efficiency, is no longer infected by the virus, and it is currently recovering many of its systems on its own,β Kedzie answered Joan, hoping that she had read the results of the scan correctly. Although she had spent quite a lot of time on duty, she hadnβt spent very much of it at the operations console.
Kedzie glanced quickly at Matt, hoping that he would correct her statement if she had been wrong. Besides, he had been doing slightly different scans, so the results of his scan might have been different, and Kedzie thought that it was good to check.

Jordan was still extremely happy when Michael's call came in to her.
Michael: Doctor Hope to Doctor Mackler, have you got a minute? Would you like to watch my children for a bit? They're currently playing in the sickbay office. Thank you ever so much.
Jordan thought before responding, Didn't really give me a chance to reply there did he? And I knew I forgot to lock something. She smiled.
Jordan: Certainly sir. Mackler out.
She got up and walked down to sickbay. She didn't make eye contact with anyone as she walked there and when she entered. She just walked straight to the office and smiled at the sight of the two girls now well again. They stared at her and she laughed a little. She knealt down in front of them so she was at the same level they were.
Jordan: Hi. I'm Dr. Mackler but you can call me Jordan. Your daddy asked me to watch you while. What are your names?
OFF: Ok, I'm gonna need some help here. I don't know much about these girls or to be more precise, I don't remember what I knew. *sheepish grin*

OOC: this is a joint post with BeTor.
'Need any help, you guys?' Jhukat asked the two who were working out the new designs from the obscure measurements the Trill used. 'Oh good, you can tell us how long these things actually are, unless you'd like a giant arm' Jared replied. Between the three of them, it took only a few hours to have finalised the design and construct it. Now came the hard part; putting the new chip in his shoulder and the arm on his body.
E'Liana moved towards a tray of hyposprays and filled one with a sedative. 'I'm going to have to sedate you now, as I need to place a chip in your shoulder and I can't afford you moving your arm even a little bit, its a very complex procedure.' Damion nodded and went to lie on a biobed. She injected him with the hypospray and watched as his eyes closed. E'Liana waited a few minutes to make sure his vital signs were stable and then she picked up an exoscalpel. Making a slight opening is his shoulder, she carefully placed a chip into the prearranged part of his shoulder. 'Mr Jared, can you please make sure the chip and arm are linked?'
Jared clicked the arm into the old attachments on the shoulder and opened the casing to view the internal mechanism. BeTor passed a small current through the chip with a tiny inducer and one of the fingers moved. She tried again in a different spot and the elbow moved; the mechamism functioned perfectly. Jared nodded to BeTor.
'Right.' Said E'Liana 'It seems to be working.' She grabbed an autosuture and began repairing the cut in Damion's shoulder. 'What we really need is for him to test it, but it'll be about half an hour before that's possible. Right now I just want to check the chip in his spine, make sure it works.' Jared nodded and handed her a scanner. She found where the chip was and did a more detailed scan. 'It appears to have connected itself with the other chip, and hasn't degraded yet. However, he may have to have the chips replaced as I can't tell how long they will last...' 'Well as long as we give him the schematics then the next CMO and Engineering can make him new ones' Jared replied.
'That's easy enough' she replied. 'Let's go and write this up in the Office until he wakes up' 'And once we're back to starbase, we can go and have a drink of something' Jared suggested 'Alright, sounds good' she said The two began their report, waiting for Jhukat to wake up so he could test the arm.

Kahlan gazed up at what she thought was a pretty doctor and she clambered to her feet. "My name is Kahlan," she said proudly, "and my mother is the first officer of this ship." The three year old then pointed at the infant beside her. "That's my little sister Yarna, she doesn't talk much yet."
She peered at the draconic pet that was hovering about Mackler. "Ohhhh a dragon!" she exclaimed, then gazed at it suspisciously, "it doesn't bite does it? Mommy says not to pet any creature just like that 'cause they might bite me." The image of the holodeck snake biting her hand was still very vivid in her mind. "I got bitten by a snake once," she confessed.
Then Yarna crawled over, noticing that her big sister was getting all the attention. She looked at Mackler once, then turned around to go back to playing with the wooden blocks.
Kahlan gawked at her. "Huh?" she asked, "she doesn't normally do that........" She smiled at Mackler. "She's the captain's favourite, but I'm my daddy's!"

"Mr. Gonto," Tony said shortly after Travor got to his station, "Please set a course for Starbase Conqueror. Warp 5. Engage." "Aye, sir," Travor said as he set a course and speed. He touched a few more buttons and saw , with a sense of relief, the familiar sceen of the stars starting to zoom by at warp five.

Damion's eyes blurred slightly as he opened them and saw that familiar ceiling.
He sat up and de-activated the console reading his vitals.
He slowly Moved his new arm up wards. It wasn't as quick as his old one but he knew it was a new configuration and would take time to get used too.
it seemed alot lighter witch was planned but also un-nerving.He griped it into a fist and stretched the fingers as wide as he could a few times and it seemed to be fine. He didn't like the look of a mechanical arm , even tho they tried to match the skin colour it never really rang true , so he knew he would need a new glove .
He stood up and walked over to the door of the office. Inside BeTor and jared were writing it all up and talking.
He heard Jared's voice first "So this drink , where do you wanna go?" "I don't mind , depends what you wanna drink" "We could get a holodeck and go anywhere" Jared smiled as he waited for the reply.
Damion interrupted
"is this the best time to be flirting" He grinned at the embarrassed pair. "Relax I'm kidding , arm seems to work , thanks for doing it for me"

Jared looked at Jhukat's arm to move the situation along from the momentary awkwardness which couldn't be doing BeTor any good. Jhukat seemed to be using it without too much trouble. Time to tell him the specs. He went over to Jhukat and tapped the arm. 'That's a lightweight alloy skeleton with piston driven motion. That is unlike muscles which are based aroud pulling, your arm motion is based around pushing. You'll have more explosive power in that arm than anyone else so you can master those martial arts death blows. The outer covering is bioplast sheeting as would be found on any good android. Now I'm particularly proud of this feature...' Jared opened a small access point in the forearm and pressed something. Another access point opened along the outer bicep and a 7 inch knife with a 4 inch blade was presented out of the arm. 'That's weighted so you can either throw it or stab someone with it in an emergency. It's only one shot, but it's the unexpected one. You can tell it to eject without pressing anything by tensing your bicep and using the command word 'butterknife', although you can change the word later.' Jared wondered if Jhukat would realise the similarity between 'butterknife' and 'BeTor knife'; she had after all been the medical side to making this arm and had generously allowed Jared to have his gadgety way with the arm like any humanoid male would want to. 'You also have a tiny personal shield generator in the forearm; it needs charging for an hour and will hold enough charge for 10 minutes' use. That should aid your chosen profession and give you an edge in any fight If you're going to have a disability then you may as well make the most of it. Do you have anything to add, Dr BeTor?' he asked her.

"Is this the best time to be flirting?" Inquired Damion as he walked in the door.
E'Liana stopped talking abruptly. ~Flirting? Oh, God, I didn't mean that, all I wanted was a drink and a chat or something...all this stuff was so much easier on Qo'Nos...if someone liked you they tried to attack you. Then again, if they didn't like you they attacked you...hmm~ She thought, her ridges flushing slightly with embarrasment.
She listened to Jared's schematics and was drifting away when he when he asked if she had anything to add.
"...Yes, erm, the chips in your shoulder and spine should be checked at least every few months by your CMO, whoever that may be, and if there is anything wrong with the performance of the arm, then you need to tell your Doctor straight away as there could be something wrong with the connection between the chips and the arm itelf. I've put all this in your medical notes, obviously, but it wouldn't hurt for you to tell them yourself."
"Oh, and...please don't use the knife as a toy or I will take it out, I know how male's can be about these things." She said, raising an eyebrow at the grin Jared and Jhukat were sharing.

"Sounds great , but you used my original power management system? apart from the shield generator?"
"thats right" Jared said "But remember that the power for the shield is only gonna last ten minutes at the most"
"Thanks ill keep that in mind , and really both of you , thank you" He extended his new right hand and Jared shook it first then hesitantly BeTor did the same.
"Well I'm headed for the bridge , i need to make sure the internal security fields are re-calibrated before we return to the star base"
He walked to wards the door ready to leave
"By the way how do i activate the shield and what capacity is it , will it cover just the arm or the whole of me?"
