Arrhae stood stunned in the middle of the bridge. Only moments ago they were well on their way to repair the damaged external sensors when suddenly all screens had gone blank, and a huge strange letter appeared on all the screens.
In vain, Arrhae tried to use the triatress' command codes to override whatever had happened, but the computer wouldn't respond, to anything. In anger, she slammed the arm rest of her chair. She looked up when armed Starfleet forces entered the bridge. Taking out her disruptor, she took careful aim and shot down the first person to come her way.
<away team.........you may kill her>
~~
Kahlan stood watching with wide eyes as newcomers entered the office. In fright, she clutched her baby sister to her, shielding her from the frightful sight of phaser fire. Looking around, she searched for the other child, but didn't spot her anywhere.
"Amilea!" she exclaimed, glancing at Bates in fright, "she's gone!" She held on tight to Yarna, as tears welled up in her eyes. "I want my daddy!" she sniffed, "please get daddy?"
<Bates/anyone on team.....and don't find Amilea yet;) I promised mom>
~~
Tafv was growing tired, his arms had cramped up as he continued to press down the uniform jacket onto the woman's injury. He had let go briefly to clean her up a bit with whatever water had remained in the now tipped-over jug.
He gazed down on her and frowned, shaking his head in misery. There was torture, and torture, and this woman had been tortured in the most dishonourable way possible. He glanced at her face which, now that it was cleaned, was bruised and both eyes had swollen. A dark discolouration told him that she had at least fractured a cheekbone.
He knew also, as he felt it by holding her, that several ribs in her back were broken, and assumed that she had severely bruised her spine. He had witnessed Virh slamming her into the wall, and had winced at the sight.
"Hold on honey," he whispered, "you've got to live, for your children." He shifted carefully so not to jostle her, and had made sure his own honour blade was lying well away from them, so that if anyone would come to her rescue, they'd instantly see he was unarmed.
He watched disdainfully as he gazed around the cell, which was smeared with green blood. The floor was also growing slick, as the bleeding wouldn't be completely staunched, and by now the uniform had gone wet as it had taken up much blood. He also knew that she'd be bleeding internally, and if she didn't get to a medic soon, she'd die. He hoped dearly that someone would show up soon, preferably someone with medical knowledge that far exceeded his own.
What he did know was that the woman was pregnant, as he too (like Bates) had guessed the signs. Yet, he hadn't informed Virh about that, as he'd taken that as a weakness on her part, and Virh would most likely have exploited that fact.
"Hold on," he continued to whisper, hoping she'd hear him. "Help is on the way." he lied, not knowing rescue was in fact really on the way.
<anyone? Don't kill this guard please>

Felix was glad when reports started to come from the away teams who already took over Engineering and Sickbay. Things were going good so far. And when he received the message from Daya that he had Bates and three children he literally ran of the bridge and down to the transporter room. When he arrived he saw Cmdr. Bates and only 2 children there.
"I thought you said there were 3 children", Felix asked
"It looked as if there were three but there are only 2.", Daya said
"Ok, call Dr. Hope down here; tell him we got his children. After that’s done get dr. Black and you me, and him are going over there."; he said
"Sir?", Daya asked
"We are going to beam over to the Hanson", he said
--A bit later--
Dr. Hope arrived to the transporter room and when he saw his children his literally melted away. Dr. Black entered the transporter room after Michael.
"Cadet, ..., Daya set the transporter to beam us to sickbay", he said
"Yes sir", Daya responded
"Wait, I want to go back there too", Bates complained
"You sure you are up to it commander?"; Felix asked
"You bet I am"; Bates said
"Ok, then et to the transport pad"; Cadet set the transporter and get on the pad we're going over
And a few moments later they found themselves in sickbay where the surprised away team pointed their weapons at them.
"At ease", Felix said when the transport was over
"Dr. Black see what you can do to make cadet Daya ready for some exploration", Felix said
"After Dr. Black gives you some medication Cadet, you and me are going to go and find my daughter", Felix said as he grabbed a phaser, "And we are not stopping until I find her", he added as he put the phaser on the low stun which would knock any Romulans they encounter out for a moment or two and give them a chance to ask him a few questions

Lieutenant Jarod Arakkis had been late beaming over to join the rescue team. While Lieutenant Commander Sloan and Lieutenant Martinson went searching the armory, he and cadet Nokomis went searching for Commander Hope.
"Has your tricorder got a fix on her yet?" Arakkis querried, after they'd retrieved a tricorder from somewhere, "I'm sure Commander Savali would like a word with her before we arrest her."
<Nokomis>
"Well, let's go then shall we?"
<Nokomis....please write how we track the signal and after a while find S'reena:) don't be too quick on finding her;)>
~~
"Daddy!" Kahlan screamed as soon as she had been fully materialized on the Raptor. As fast as her short legs could carry her, she sped towards her father, tugging Yarna along with her.
Michael fell to his knees as he hugged the girls fiercely. "Are you two all right?" he asked, gazing at each girl in turn, "come let's get you to...well whatever passes for sickbay here, I want to have a look at you."
"Auntie Karynn took care of us," Kahlan said proudly, "and I babysitted Yarna and Amilea. And then we were brought to a nice man in a wheelchair...he said we should call him Noah. He was really nice." Then, tears started forming again. "I've lost Amilea daddy."
Michael picked up both girls and carried them to sickbay. After giving them a quick examination he concluded that they were mainly suffering from shock, but were otherwise unharmed.
"Aunty Karynn cared for you?" he asked, surprised, "who'd..." Then it struck him, the girl meant Admiral McCormick. "Well then we'll make sure to thank her when she's found won't we?"
Kahlan nodded solemnly. "Daddy, where's mommy?"
Michael's expression fell at the mention of his wife. "I don't know honey, I'm sure they'll find her soon."

Daya looked around at the others, then noticed Admiral McCormick laying on a biobed, he walked over to her side, and stood there. " I hope we get to talk later ma'am" Daya grabbed his phaser and set it to low stun, then stood next to commadner Savali, "ready when you are sir" OFF yeah for me, i get to have some fun

"Nokomis, you okay?" he yelled, taking careful aim from his hiding position, pulling the trigger as Romulans closed in on them. "Can you still use your phaser? It seems we've got to blast ourselves a way out of here. If you're up to it...run! I'll cover you!" <Nokomis> Jarod peered sideways past the pillar he was hiding behind and with his left hand (not his shooting hand) he fired wildly in the direction of the Romulans, while Nokomis hurried forward. "Right, now cover me while I join you!" <Nokomis> He crouched low to remain under the cadet's fire, but a yellow beam coming from another direction hit him square in his back as he nearly reached the cadet. He groaned as he fell forward. "I'm all right," he hissed, "go! Keep your comm link open, I'll follow as fast as I can, keeping your six covered. Have you found her yet?" <Nokomis>

Kirk watched as Commander Bates and the two children he had with him beamed back to the Klingon ship.
"Alright guys lets get moving, we still need to take the bridge." Noland said walking towards the door.
The team rallied behind Noland as he walked through the door checking both ways before he entered the corridor. He pointed to the left wanting to take the less direct route to a turbo lift. Jeffries lead the way followed closely by Kirk and Harash-Kyat, Noland stood by the door to cover the rear while the team moved on.
Virh had already climbed four decks looking for a shuttle bay to possibly escape when Jeffries spotted him and another Romulan in the corridor.
"I've got point." states Jeffries as he look the lead position in the squad.
Jeffries slowly walked up head to a T intersection, he was hugging the wall on the right hand side. Looking left down the corridor he did not spot anything, he began to make his move to the left when two hands grabbed his jack and pulled him around the corner.
"Jeffries!" Yelled Noland running down the corridor.
"Noland! Wait!" Kirk yelled trying to get the Officer to think clearly.
Noland was in mid stride realigning his phaser for maximum coverage when he reached the T intersection. He turned the corner firing his phaser wildly, and to his surprise there as nobody there. He spotted Jeffries on the ground bleeding from a stab wound to his chest.
"Jeffries, are you alright?" He ask with great concern in his voice as he bent down to check on his fallen comrade.
Kirk and Harash-Kyat came up behind Noland only seconds after he found the body of Jeffries. The looked at each other and then down at Noland who was now morning the loss of his crew mate. Kirk didn't personally know Jeffries, but the loss of a fellow officer is something everyone in Starfleet takes a little personally.
"Lieutenant," Harash-Kyat said roughly trying to take the death off the mine of Noland, "Lieutenant, we need to get going." Sounding more sincere .
Noland picked up Jeffries phaser and took off his COM Badge just like it was a dog-tag pinning the COM Badge just below his. Noland turned to Kirk and handed him the second phaser.
"You've got cargo pockets, put this in one of them just in case."
Kirk nodded as he took the phaser.
Virh felt satisfied that he had the chance to battle a Starfleet Officer hand to hand. He was not at all happy with the level of skill the officer possessed. Virh had killed him in a matter of seconds, sending his knife through the young officers chest. He smiled as he walked along side his Romulan Comrade.
"One down, several hundred to go." He said smiling looking at the Romulan solider.
Noland, Kirk, and Harash-Kyat made their way to a turbo lift. Stepping inside they issued the command for the lift to take them to the bridge. It did nothing. Looking over the console in the lift showed the same Omega lock out.
"It appears nothing works on this ship," Noland said, "Looks like we have a climb on our hands."
All three men looked up at the roof of the turbo lift at the same time. It was clear none of them wanted to climb eleven decks to the bridge. Kirk got an idea, tapping his COB Badge he called back to the D-7.
"Kirk to Raptor, Daya, you there?"
The Raptor responded, but it was not Daya, "No, Daya is aboard the Hanson. This is Ensign Johnson, what can I do for you?"
"Yes, Ensign I need you to lock onto our location and transport us to the Captain's ready room on Deck one."
"Acknowledged." Ensign Johnson replied.
Moments later the three of them were inside the Captain's ready room. Kirk walked over to a single small wall locker and pulled out a tricorder. Opening it up Kirk quickly changed some of the settings to now register non Federation life signs.
"Alright, there are two life forms on the bridge. They are both Romulan life signs, but I cannot get a fix on their exact location on the bridge." Kirk informed the group.
"OK, prepare for close combat." Noland said
Kirk stood up and walked next to Harash-Kyat who was clearly wanting to take the trail position on this fight. Kirk stood next to him and gave him a confident nod. Noland walked up the doors, hissing as they slide open the Romulans noticed the officers now on the bridge.
Arrhae looked up when armed Starfleet forces entered the bridge from the ready room. Taking out her disruptor, she took careful aim and shot down the first person to come her way. Noland dropped to his knees quickly after receiving a blast to his chest. With his left arm pushing Harash-Kyat on the back to move in around the other Romulan Kirk fired his phaser striking Arrhae in the chest. The Romulan at the OPS station fired wildly at the two men as he ran from his post. Harash-Kyat fired back missing the Romulan as he entered the turbo lift.
Kirk pointed to the right side of the turbo lift behind one of the OPS consoles for Harash-Kyat to take cover as he squatted behind the first officers chair. Moments past before the turbo lift door slide open, the Romulan shot wildly not seeing any targets. Harash-Kyat was in a perfect position to strike the Romulan down, he raised his phaser, took careful aim and fired bringing the Romulan down.
Kirk stood up and waited as Harash-Kyat joined him in the center of the bridge. Looking around the bridge was empty and much larger than both of them remembered. They both came back to reality when the remembered Noland laying on the floor. Harash-Kyat went over to check on him. Bending down Harash-Kyat checked Noland for a pulse, when he could not find a pule he looked up at Kirk and just shook his head. Kirk pounded the railing with the bottom of his fist at the news of Noland's death.
Tapping his COM Badge Kirk opened a channel to Commander Savali, "Kirk to Commander Savali."
"Go ahead Cadet."
"We have retaken the bridge, but we have lost Lieutenant Noland, and Liuetenant Jeffries."

When they rematerialized in Sickbay, Jason looked around for a few moments, looking at the state of Sickbay. It looked like it was still pretty well organized. It was good to be back
"Well then," he said, "Have a seat, Cadet," he said, gesturing to the nearest biobed.
Daya began to sit down, but then asked "Why do I need to sit down for medication?"
Jason grabbed a medical tricorder and came back over. "Because I'm not just going to give you a shot in the arm and send you on your way without checking your condition first," he said, and flipped open the tricorder. He ran the peripheral over Daya. "A little swelling in your head, and in your side, due to the blows to each. Your concussion doesn't pose a problem anymore."
He went over and picked up a hypospray, and inserted a vial. "Here's an anti-inflammatory for you," he said, and pressed it to his neck.
Jason smiled. "That should do it," he said, to both Daya and Commander Savali.
--------------------------Raptor Engine Room-------------------------------
Mike Bates looked over the Communications logs, keeping tabs on the progress of the away-teams.
"Excellent. They've secured Engineering....Sickbay.....and the Bridge," he said, reading the records.
He slumped down onto the floor, the pain overcoming him for the first time in hours. "We did it."

Once Black had finished with Daya, Bates turned to Savali. "I believe I know where your daughter is, Sir," he said, picking up a phaser. "I left her in my Office in Engineering."
"Lead the way," Felix responded, motioning towards the door.
He placed the phaser in his lap, and rolled out the door and towards the turbolift. "Deck 11," he said when they had entered.
A few minutes later, they entered Engineering. "Computer, end Engineering lock-downs. Authorization Bates Pi Omega Tungsten." The consoles all sprung to life now. "This way," he said, and went towards his Office.
When they reached his Office, it was empty. "Hmm, that's odd," Noah said. "I left her right here."

"Kirk to T'Brel, we have taken Engineering, what is you situation?"
"We have taken sickbay and were heading towards the bridge. I'm also sorry to say that we lost Lt. Johnson and we have met with resistance from some guards," T'Brel said.
"Do you need any help?" Kirk asked.
"No, but it will take us longer to get up there," T'Brel said hearing that some more guards were coming there way. T'Brel motioned to Commander Gordon to take cover and fire at will.
Once they were in clear sight, they fired. Luckly for T'Brel he hit his mark on the first try, but it was different with the ohter one. He kept firing at the two, this Romulan seemed to be better than the other Romulans that they had encountered so far.
The only thing that saved T'Brel was the experience of Commander Gordon. He distracted the Romulan and T'Brel got a clear shot and he fell down dead. This time they wouldn't wait to get caught by more Romulans so they decided to run towards the Bridge to help out Team 1.
Once they got there they were surprised to see that Cadet Kirk and his team had already taken the bridge. T'Brel noticed that the team wasn't happy liked they should of been.
"What happened Kirk?" T'Brel asked.

"If I'm lucky doctor, you wont have to fix anything else with me when i get back." Daya smiled as he got off the bed and walked over to Commander Savali's side.
"We're not going by the armory at all are we? Daya asked as they left sickbay.
Daya, Commander Savali and Commander Bates made their way to the turbolift, and proceeded up to Deck 11. Once in Bates' office, he unlocked engineering , and then they noticed the little girl was not in there.
Daya looked at Savali, who looked more upset at the moment then he had at the Raptor. 'this wont turn out good, for someone' Daya thought to himself.
Daya looked around the office to see if he could spot anything the little girl could have used to escape, but to no avail. Daya waited for some kind of order to do something, this was not really his area any more, this had become a personal matter for his commanding officer. Daya knew it might be smarter if did indeed take over command, but he wanted Commander Savali to do this one. If things got to out of hand, he might intervene.
OFF: probably not even my place to do so, but oh well

"What happened Kirk?" T'Brel asked
Kirk could not tell if he was being sincere or if he was being an arrogant Vulcan, it didn't matter, two men out of his crew were dead and T'Brel had proven his point with out saying a single word.
Kirk looked around the room before he turned to face T'Brel, "We beamed into the Captain's ready room," Kirk pointed to the ready room and towards the body of Lieutenant Noland, "Then we came out, Noland was hit. I shot the woman here at the helm. Commander Harash-Kyat shot that one in the turbo lift. Lieutenant Noland and Jeffries didn't make it."
Kirk was being distant and T'Brel could see it. Kirk sat down in the Captain's chair and buried his face into his hands as his arms rested on the arms of the Captain's chair. It had been a long day for him, and the rest of the crew. He began to rub his eyes with tips of his fingers in an effort to wipe away the feeling of fatigue that was over powering his body.
Commander Harash-Kyat came with new orders, "Cadets, we need to still 'clean up' the rest of this ship. We also need to find Admiral McCormick so she can unlock the controls to the ship.
"Sir, Admiral McCormick is in sickbay," T'Brel informed Commander Harash-Kyat, "She is unconscious. Doctor Black is looking over her now."
"Where is Commander Savali?." Harash-Kyat asked.
"I am not sure sir. He left with Commander Bates, and Cadet Daya."
"OK, here is what we are going to do. Kirk and myself are going to go down to Sickbay and talk to Dr. Black. I want you to stay here. When we get the computers and engines back online set a course for Starbase Conqueror at maximum warp."
"Aye sir."
Harash-Kyat and Kirk left in the only working turbo lift. Both men entered Sickbay on a mission, to restore control of the ship. They were shocked to find Admiral McCormick hooked up to a biobed. Kirk caught the attention of Dr. Black.
"Whats happen to her?" Kirk asked.

Joan was on the bridge happy for a quiet job after being taken hostage. She was glad to be free and at a station again. She didn't want to sit in the command chair, even if she was the highest ranking officer on the Raptor bridge. She looked around to find several people working at their stations.
"Report on the Hanson retrieval." Joan says hoping things are going well.
"The crew has taken back the Bridge, Sickbay, and Engineering." One of the ensigns pips up.
=/\= Lt. McCormick to Savali.=/\=
"Sir, do you need any assistance in retaking the ship? We might be able to do something from this end." She says waiting for a reply.

Daya was walking around the room, thinking for amoment while he had time to. he wasnt sure if he had over looked something in the room or not, he didnt know this room at all, he hadnt spent more than 10 minutes in his own quarters, and now here he was looking at the wall of the office of thhe Cheif engineering Officer.
" Commander, we may need help for this" Daya said as he looked at commander Savali " i have an idea, but i dont know if we need to burden some of the others, i was thinking we could contact Kirk and T'brel, have them keep an eye out for your daughter"
<Savali>
"If you say so sir, your still in charge......., Sir if i may say something" Daya looked at him, as he nodded in acceptance. " Sir, today i look at you with the most respect i have ever looked at anyone besides my father. In front of me is a man, not just a man, but a father looking for his child, willing to go to the end of the earth for her. This man is risking his own life to find his child, to protect his child."
Daya felt a sudden surge in pride of being a Starfleet officer,"this man in front of me, is a prime example of what a starfleet officer should be. And i am more than proud to be serving with you, and am willing to do whatever it takes to help you find your daughter, Sir!" Daya saluted commander Savali, and looked at him straight in his eyes.
" Cadet 1st class Daya, ready for duty. Sir"
OFF sorry, i just felt the need to do that, it makes me tear up in side.

"If I'm lucky doctor, you wont have to fix anything else with me when i get back," Daya said smiling as he got off the bed.
"Please be careful to keep it that way," Jason said as they walked out the door.
He now turned his attention to Admiral McCormick, lying on a biobed. "Computer, medical transport. Transfer Admiral McCormick to the surgical bed." He could move her back later if it wasn't necessary. But an Admiral deserved top treatment.
When she reappeared on the surgical bed, and he went over with a medical tricorder, and began scanning her. She was comatose from what he could see. She was also to some degree paralyzed. From what he couldn't tell. But then he found it. A small chip embedded in her brain. He pressed the key on the bed, and the eaves folded over her. "Computer, initiate a full bio-scan," he said, and went over to the diagnostic console.
A few minutes later, the results appeared. The chip was a malicious biomechanical device. It was sending tendrils into her brain, which in turn were releasing neurotransmitters throughout it.
The door opened, and Jason turned to see Commander Harash-Kyat and Cadet Kirk. "Whats happen to her?" Kirk asked.
Jason looked back over at her. "I'm still trying to figure that out. There's been a chip implanted in her brain, probably by the Romulans. It's sending tendrils throughout her brain, paralyzing the higher functions. And it's not only that, its also having a destructive effect as well. She's suffering brain damage. I can perform surgery to remove the chip, but I'm not sure how well I'll be able to restore her neurological functions."

"Acknowledged cadet," Jarod Arakkis called after tapping his combadge, "I'm on my way though it may take me a few minutes to get there." After what seemed a long time of crawling and just pushing himself to move forward, he arrived at Nokomis' location, and gasped at the battlefield he was now seeing.
"You should've called for assistance," he chided her, "you could've been killed cadet!"
He then noticed the Romulan that was still holding the former first officer, and also noted the plea for help in his eyes. "You've done well to keep him where he's at," he complimented the secutity cadet, "he's clearly assisting the commander, and had you taken him out, she'd be bleeding to death, if she isn't already."
"She is," the Romulan said in clear Federation Standard, "she's got internal bleedings. She needs to see a doctor, and fast. I'm Tafv, and I am a security guard for the Romulan Empire....or at least I was. Now, they'll probably execute me for assisting a traitress." He met Arakkis' gaze squarely, as if challenging him.
"Cadet, take over from him," Arakkis ordered, "he's cramping up, and he looks as if he's about to faint."
Nokomis nodded and took over immediately, while Arakkis tapped his combadge again. "Arakkis to Savali, we've located Commander Hope, but she's severely injured." He tapped his combadge again. "Arakkis to Black, I need an emergency medical team in the brig immediately, or if possible emergency transport to sickbay."
"She's pregnant," Tafv said flatly, "I hope he didn't hit the foetus. Children are sacred, even in the Romulan Empire."
"And sir," Arakkis added, nodding at the Romulan, commending him silently for his sense of honour, and then nodded for him to go retrieve his blade, "the victim is pregnant, or so her guard says. He probably saved her life sir."

Little Amilea crawled into engineering from under the chief engineer's desk, where she'd been hiding when people came into the area shooting. The sound of weapons fire and screaming had scared her, and she'd crawled to safety instinctively.
She smiled, then started crying when she spotted her father.

After he finished his convo with cadet Kirk, he got another message from cmdr. McCormick.
=/\=That's a negative commander, you are to remain on the Raptor, any moment now two federation vessels will arrive in the system, you are to notify them that we have taken over the Hanson as communications are down due to the Omega lockout.=/\=
=/\=Understood sir=/\=, McCormick said
=/\=Savali out=/\=
After the last call from cmdr. McCormick Felix took of his communicator and put it on a desk in the engineering office.
"They have their hands full with the Romulans as it is, me and you will be able to find her just as well.", he said
"Cadet.... I mean…. Daya .... your help is much appreciated, thank you", Felix said, he was actually touched by the speech the cadet held
While going around the office Felix could not seem to understand where his daughter could have disappeared of to. Then out of nowhere she came crawling from under the chief engineer’s desk. Felix threw his phaser away as he went and grabbed his daughter.
“Amilea, I am so happy nothing happened to you, did the all the shooting scare you”, he said while he was hugging her
“Daya, go and check on the status of the other teams, see if they found Cmdr. S’reena yet, and contact the Raptor and have them run a scan for Romulan life signs I want to know how many are left and where they are, after you’ve done that organize a team and flush them out. ”, he said

"OK, here is what we are going to do. Kirk and myself are going to go down to Sickbay and talk to Dr. Black. I want you to stay here. When we get the computers and engines back online set a course for Starbase Conqueror at maximum warp."
"Aye sir." "T'Brel saw that Kirk was not please with him. He really didn't understand why Kirk was displeased at him. He just wanted to know what exactly happened.
T'Brel knew that he couldn't do anything until Admiral McCormick unlocked the Omega Directive. So T'Brel just got up and started cleaning the bridge.
When he came up to the bodies of Lieutenant Noland and Jeffries, T'Brel couldn't help but stop and offer them a prayer. T'Brel had not prayed in years, but he couldn't help it. It was so unvulcan to have these feelings: sorrow, dispair, anger, and fear. A single tear fell down his cheek, T'Brel quickly brushed off and went back to his work. Noting that he would never forget the men and women who gave up their lives for him and the rest of the crew.

off: A little back post.
While Commander Harash-Kyat was issuing orders Kirk took a second to step aside and complete Commander Savali's request for members of the Raptor to beam over to the Hanson.
"Kirk to Raptor."
"Go ahead Cadet."
"The Hanson's bridge has been taken back, please send all senior bridge officers onboard the Raptor to the Hanson."
"Understood. Raptor out."
Kirk walked back to the group as Commander Harash-Kyat was finishing giving his orders, "OK, here is what we are going to do. Kirk and myself are going to go down to Sickbay and talk to Dr. Black. I want you to stay here. When we get the computers and engines back online set a course for Starbase Conqueror at maximum warp."
Harash-Kyat slapped Kirk on the shoulder as he passed him by heading towards the turbo lift. Kirk eyed Cadet T'Brel and noticed that T'Brel was watching him as well.
I wonder when he is going to say 'I told you so'. Kirk thought as he tuned and walked into the turbo lift. I should not be so hard on him, he was right. But it was the only way to take back the ship, wasn't it?
The turbo lift doors closed and cut Kirk's gaze from T'Brel's.
"Deck five." Commander Harash-Kyat ordered.
The turbo lift began moving and left Kirk in thought as it fell several decks.

OOC: I have the OK from Doctor Black to post this.
"...She's suffering brain damage. I can perform surgery to remove the chip, but I'm not sure how well I'll be able to restore her neurological functions."
Kirk's brain started racing, trying to think of one way to save the Admiral. I am not a doctor, I don't know anything about medicine. He said to himself.
Doctor Black moved away from the Admiral clearly still deep in thought on ways to save her and recover neurological functions. Harash-Kyat stood silent not knowing what to do or say. He could fix a machine, but he could do nothing for people. He along with the rest of the people in sickbay felt more helpless now than they did aboard the Raptor.
Kirk leaned up against a empty bio bed. He ran his hands through his hair and looked at the Dr. Black.
"Do you need your regeneration node?" He asked.
"I might as well pick it up while I am here." Kirk said in reply.
Dr. Black came out of his office with a small Borg regeneration node to plug into Kirk's ocular implant. Taking it out of Dr. Black's hands a sudden clarity came upon Kirk.
"I know how to save the Admiral." Kirk said looking up at Dr. Black.
"How?" He asked with a confused look on his face.
Kirk hesitated for a second, "I used to be an Attack Drone on a Borg ship. I specialized in boarding, and the assimilation of new drones. I can assimilate Admiral McCormick, and use the Nano-Machines to assimilate the device in her brain. Once assimilated I will simply order them to disassemble the device."
"Cadet, I don't-" Dr. Black began to say as Kirk cut him off.
"You said it yourself Doctor. You can't take out the device and restore her functions, this could be her only chance."
Dr. Black turned away from Kirk to look at the Admiral on the bio bed. He took several deep breaths as he tried to quickly thing of another way. It had become clear to him, this was out of his hands and he hated to admit it. He turned his head to look at Kirk.
"Be careful."
"I will." Kirk replied.
Kirk stood up straight and walked over to the surgical bed, Dr. Black followed with a tricorder in hand. Kirk took a moment to look at the Admiral before starting the process. Kirk looked one last time at Dr. Black who had opened the tricorder to take some last minute readings.
"Ready." Black said.
Kirk nodded holding his right hand up against Admiral McCormick's neck. Dr. Black watched as he saw two tendrils pop out from the top of Kirk's hand and stab their way into the Admiral's neck. Looking over the tricorder he noticed the Admiral's heart rate was accelerated, which he could understand that it would be given the circumstances. Looking up at Kirk he stepped back in shock as he noticed Kirk's skin had lost some color, he was looking more gray, more Borg like. He looked over the tricorder again and noticed the device was now starting to withdraw from McCormick's brain.
Kirk's mind was now linked with Admiral McCormick's. This was a familiar sensation for Kirk, who had actually missed the feeling of the collective.
"Admiral McCormick, can you hear me?"
There was silence and then it came, first as a whisper that quickly grew louder to a normal tone, "Yes, who is this?"
"My name is Cadet Kirk. I am a member of your crew."
"Are you a Vulcan?"
"No ma'am I am not. I don't have time to explain right now, but I want you to concentrate. I need you to concentrate on waking yourself up. Do you understand?"
"I believe I do."
Kirk and Dr.Black watched as the Admiral's tossed and turned looking as if she was having a bad dream. Kirk was now looking more normal since detaching himself from Admiral McCormick's neck.
"Were you successful?" Asked Dr. Black.
"Yes I was. There was a problem though."
"What do you mean a problem?"
"The device was too embedded in her mind. The Nano-Machines just like yourself could not remove it with out problems. They simply have assimilated it. Now her body is producing Nano-Machines just like my body does and all other Borg."
"I will just remove that then." He protested.
"You don't understand Doctor. This is now apart of who she is, her life now depends on those Nano-Machines just like mine does. It was the best I could do."
Admiral McCormick eyes blinked several times catching Kirk and Dr. Black's attention.
"Whats going on?" She asked looking around, "What is that I hear inside my head?"

S’reena yet, and contact the Raptor and have them run a scan for Romulan life signs I want to know how many are left and where they are, after you’ve done that organize a team and flush them out. ”, he said "Aye sir, will do" as Daya was about to contact Kirk, the commander spoke up again “And cadet, thnx again” "your welcome sir." Daya stepped to the side, and used his comm badge to check the status on the teams. =^= Daya to Kirk, i need a status report on your team, and if possible, meet me at the bridge asap =^= <Kirk> =^= Daya to T'Brel, status report of your team, meet me at the bridge asap=^= <T'Brel> =^= Daya to Raptor=^=Daya said tapping his comm badge once more =^= Go ahead cadet =^= =^= i need you to scan for any remaining Romulan life signs onboard the Hanson=^= =^= reading life signs, it looks like there are 5Romulanss left onboard, one in the brig with Cadet Nokomis, the other 4 heading towards the shuttle bay=^= "Computer, close doors on deck 12 leading to the shuttle bay" "Acknowledged" the computer chimed in. =^= Daya to Kirk and T'brel, I've been given permission to gather a team to wipe out theremainingg the Romulans, i want you two with me, the Raptor has beamed over two other security officers, they will meet us at the Bridge, Daya out=^= *****Bridge***** Daya walked through the door to the bridge to see the two security officers, Lt. Jones and Lt. JG. Harris, He met them at the turbolift, and waited for Kirk and T'brel to show up. Moments later they were all waiting on Daya to give the orders. "OKk, we have been given the job of removing the remaining Romulans, who are heading towards Shuttle bay 12 as we speak, a few of the doors are close in front of them, so we have time to catch them. Lets move" Daya looked at each of them as he spoke, then turned to the turbolift and entered, "Deck 12" he said and the turbolift hummed into motion. He watched as the others grabbed their phasers and turned thesettingg to stun, he did the same, but took it up a notch, just enough to stun them for a few hours. Once the doors opened, the team spread out, Daya and Kirk against one wall, Harris, Jones, and T'brel against the other. " We should be just a few doors behind them, so keep an eye out" Daya said as he peered around a corner, to see nonone there. He kept going down thecorridorr and stopped to listen, he could here the urgent footsteps of the Romulans, and moved further on. Turning the corner, they came upon the 4 Romulans, who were trying to open the remaining door. Daya fired at one, hitting him in the back, dropping him like a bag of potatoes The team spread to the wall, and fired at will, narrowly missing, and being missed. Daya stuck his arm out to fire, but was hit in the shoulder by a phaser blast. The pain surged through his shoulder, and his arm went numb. Daya cursed a line of words bad enough to make grown man cry out for him to stop, he later found out it was Harris, telling him hecouldn'tt shoot with Daya cursing so loud. Daya took one last shot, and dropped one more of the Romulans, by that time, they had opened the door and the two remaining jumped into the shuttle bay. One was shot from behind and the other turned to fight, only to be hit in the chest by Kirk. =^= Daya to Commander Savali, The Remaining Romulans have been eliminated.=^= =^= Good to hear Cadet=^= Daya slumpedagainstt a wall and took a few breaths, then smiled as Kirk looked at him. " Care to walk me back to sickbay?" Daya asked as he stared at his new friend. OFF: AWWWWWWwwwww Well, i think its an offical record for me, my longest post, EVER!!!!

OOC: Man! Ya gotta be quick around here to post where the story flows best. This post obviously comes before Daya's. Sorry for the length! Kirk's plot twist gave me too many great ideas I could try out! She felt dizzy and her extremities tingled as if her body was buzzing with static electricity. Her mind was teeming with sensations; faint voices whispered, overlapping each other, yet Karynn could distinguish each one separately. ”You are no longer alone.”
“Probe 01100267 has completed task 468,210 and will now enter regeneration mode.”
“We are one, yet many.”
“Probe 81003946 will begin cell repair function 626 in ventromedial and dorsolateral frontal lobe, quadrant 4.”
“Probe 722873 transmitting data to Probe 90012974.”On and on the voices whispered. Karynn held her head in her hands and screamed, “Make them stop! I can’t think with all these voices!” Instinctively, Kirk grabbed her hand and squeezed it firmly. He took his best guess at how to assist her in quieting the noise. “Admiral! You need to concentrate! You need to force those thousands of whispers to recede into the background of your mind. Concentrate only on my hand squeezing yours!” Kirk flashed back in his memory about his own dealings with assimilation. He knew his experience was different in that the Borg hive-mind routed sub-commands and lesser functions for the drones. McCormick, however, had no such help. She’d have to find a way on her own. Boring her index fingers on either side of her temples, Karynn squinted her eyes together tightly. “I can’t! There are too many!” She let out a pitiful moan as the frustration overwhelmed her. Taking a different tactic, Kirk connected his thoughts to hers. He discovered her familiarity and knowledge of Vulcan meditation techniques. He assisted her in accessing assimilated peace-inducing disciplines acquired from Species 9224. The combination proved helpful and McCormick began to calm. “Heart rate is falling; BP returning to normal; I think you’ve done it, Cadet,” said a relieved Doctor Black. McCormick shook her head as though trying to clear it. The voices were still present but the meditation techniques were beginning to help separate them from the goings-on in the room. Gradually, she began to be able to place the thousand voices behind a mental wall. Karynn finally opened her eyes and looked piercingly into Black’s face. “What have you done to me?” she demanded, clearly infuriated. “I assure you, Admiral,” Black answered solemnly, “This was the only to save your life. Had I not allowed the Cadet here to…” He broke off, not wanting to use the words ‘assimilate you’. “Had I not let him assist, you would have been severely brain damaged." Still enraged, she darted cold, menacing eyes back and forth from the Cadet and the Doctor. “Is there any way to un-do what this Cadet has done to me?” “No,” Black replied emotionlessly. Distraught, Kirk attempted to apologize. “We were,” he gulped a bit of air before continuing, placing the blame squarely on his shoulders, “I was convinced it was the only alternative. I’m sorry but we couldn’t exactly consult with you before I…” “Before you assimilated me… against my will!” Karynn interrupted. “I’ve always known assimilation was a possibility for anyone who encounters a Borg. I naively assumed, however, that such a possibility would spring from an act of war, not in a medical procedure on a Starship!” Kirk and Black remained silent, figuring whatever they said would be wrong. McCormick then turned away and the sight of her former CEO, Harash-Kyat, had a calming affect on her. “Ah, my old friend, could you bring me up to date on the ship’s current status?” “Thanks to the actions of several brave cadets, like Mr. Kirk here, we have retaken the Hanson from the Romulans.” Harash-Kyat’s emphasis on Kirk’s bravery didn’t go unnoticed and Karynn visibly softened. To hear the crusty Chief Engineer speak highly of anyone deserved special notice. “We have initiated the Omega protocol so we do need you on the bridge as soon as you are able.” Karynn jumped down from the biobed. She took slight note of the ease at which she accomplished it. “I seem able.” The tingling sensations continued coursing through her and she noticed an acrid taste in her mouth – akin to the taste of something metallic; a copper-like taste. “Why does it taste like I’ve just been eating ancient coins?” “It’s a by-product of the nano-machines. You’ll eventually get used to it,” Kirk said, trying to be supportive. “Thanks to you, I have no other choice but to… ‘get used to’ a lot of things,” McCormick answered with only a tad less hostility in her tone than previously. “Doctor, since I probably have several people anxious for me to get to the bridge, am I released?” Black swooped over her with the med-tricorder. “I can’t find anything wrong physically with you. Mentally, I’m not certain you’re strong enough just yet to take on active duty.” “How about I just visit the bridge for a while then promise you I’ll go to my quarters, will that do?” Black nodded. “Good,” Karynn said and left sickbay with her former CEO. Kirk hung his head, wondering if he’d done the right thing. He hadn’t considered that the Admiral might not appreciate his ‘gift’. Once again, his past with the Borg was interfering with his present among his peers. Black looked on the young man with pity. He placed his hand on Kirk’s shoulder. “Give her some time. I believe she’ll come around to understanding what you did for her today.”

Jason looked at the Admiral, knowing exactly how she felt. He didn't like the idea of assimilating his patients in order to save them, but if it meant death as the alternative....
"Arakkis to Black, I need an emergency medical team in the brig immediately, or if possible emergency transport to sickbay."
"And sir," Arakkis added, "the victim is pregnant, or so her guard says. He probably saved her life sir."
Jason's eyes widened. S'reena....pregnant?? He tapped his comm-badge. "Acknowledged, Lieutenant. Computer, emergency medical transport. Beam Commander Hope directly to Sickbay, onto the surgical bed."
A moment later, S'reena was lying on the bed, in very bad shape. He began scanning her immediately. Her jaw was fractured, she had a phaser burn on her shoulder, multiple cuts, a blow to the back of the head, a concussion and significant internal bleeding. "What did those Romulans do to you?" he said under his breath. He also scanned her abdomen. She was pregnant alright.
But there were immediate concerns. First he loaded her up with painkillers and anti-inflammatories, knowing the pain and swelling cause by the injuries. Next he grabbed a dermal regenerator, set it to maximum power, and began going over her wounds.
