Methos was standing in at Tactical while Commander K'ratak and the Security Cadets were in the briefing room. As soon as New Haven had Entered the sensor range, he began to scan it, and the space around it, for any signs of a threat. Seeing none, he scanned the planet for life signs. As the computer was scanning, Methos looked up.
The viewscreen showed a field of debris surrounding the planet, hundreds of transport ships that had tried to escape the planet and failed. The once luscious blue water and green landscape of the planet surface was now a murky brown, no sign of civilization could be seen.
“Lifesigns?” S’reena asked, also standing from her chair.
“No lifesigns on the ships,” Methos reported, “I am detecting around 150,000 bio signatures on the planet, but there is heavy interference.”
“Out of a population of five million,” S’reena gasped, sitting back in her chair and holding her hand to her mouth in shock.
“Send a message to Starfleet,” Drew ordered, walking the length of the bridge, “we are going to require a larger clean up taskforce than originally expected.”

"You heard the man," Konal said encouragingly. "Show him what we've got."
In a state of bewilderment at what he was seeing, Simon poked a few buttons on the main console, and sent the sensor analysis to the science station on the bridge. Commander Elal didn't so much as blink when Simon caught his eye, and continued to stare at him. It was unnerving. Having sent the data, he looked enquiringly back at Commander Manto, who was adding a few of his own remarks to the data transfer.
"Cadet." Elal said, his calm Vulcan voice penetrating the low hum of the laboratory, "Make the bridge aware you have transferred the data."
"Sir?" Simon wasn't sure that a Cadet was allowed to contact the bridge. Elal looked at him, hard. Unsure, Simon tapped his comm. badge, and stammered.
=/\= "C-cad-det Simon C-clark to Bridge." =/\= There was a pause while someone answered.
=/\= "Go ahead Cadet." =/\=
Simon stopped for only a second to compose what be would say, but as he drew his breath to speak, Elal cut him off.
=/\= "Astrometrics to Bridge. This is Commander Elal. We have tranferred the sensor data analysis of the planet New Haven to the science station." =/\=
=/\= "Acknowledged Commander, Bridge out." =/\=
Simon stood stunned with his fingers on his badge.
Elal did not even turn to look as he repremanded him, "The bridge officers do not have time to waste waiting for you to speak, Cadet Clark. Remember that, if you are called upon to contact the bridge again."
Simon felt a wave of anger flood through him. He'd been about to speak, and Elal had cut him off! How stupid must he appear to the bridge crew! How stupid must he appear to the other Cadets stationed on the bridge! He imagined a navigation Cadet sat at the helm, sniggering, laughing at his mistake... Simon realised he had his fist clenched by his side, and relaxed it. It didn't do to get angry... but still...
"Yes, Sir. I'll remember." It was hard to speak through the lump in his throat, and looking at Elal, he'd swear he saw a snigger on the otherwise stone faced Vulcan.
Simon decided there and then that he disliked Commander Elal. It was not a decision he'd had to make before, and he disliked even more that he'd had to make it. He'd never met anyone he actively disliked, especially someone who'd he'd known for such a short time, and he couldn't quite put his finger on why he didn't like him. There was something strange about the way he acted, like he was holding a grudge against him, competing with him for Manto's attentions and praises. From what he'd been taught, this went against the Vulcan logical mindset, and the supression of their emotional state. It didn't make any sense.
As Manto whisked Simon from the laboratory, and ignored Elal as he did so, Simon realised that Manto and Elal were not well matched personalities.
"I'm sure the Admiral will be very appreciative when I tell him about your long range sensor efficiencies," Commander Manto said pleasantly. "You can explain that to Commander K'ratak in the Cadet meeting."
Senor, efficiencies? He'd only calibrated them! But as they walked, Simon felt he didn't want to relinquish this information... Elal had been so... rude. Although, perhaps he should, it hadn't been his work, however much he disliked the Commander. Hang on, what Cadet Meeting?
"Cadet Meeting, Sir?"
As they entered the turbolift, Manto explained that although the meeting was primarily aimed at security cadets, he felt it was sensible for all of the science Cadets she worked with to attend as many meetings at possible while on board a starship, it gave them understanding of the roles of those they work with in the future, and since the sensor data had already been analysed, he could be spared for half an hour to learn something. After all, thats why he was here. The turbolift reached deck one.
"First door on the left, Cadet."
Simon steeled himself, "Sir, about the sensor modifications..."
"Not now, Cadet. You have a meeting to go to. I'll see you on the bridge when it is done." Manto smiled at him and waved him down the corridor.
A duranium table took up most of the space in the briefing room, and a stern looking Klingon in a black and yellow uniform sat at it's head near the window. There were two other cadets dressed in grey and yellow sat at the table, girls it seemed, with slightly pointed ears.
Not more Vulcans, Simon hoped... he'd had enough of Vulcans for one day. Strange though, they didn't look Vulcan, their faces were awash with emotion, and in fact the taller girl seemed to be scowling at the other.
"Yes?" the Klingon asked.
"Er... Commander Manto sent me along to this meeting... er... Sir."
The Klingon looked him up and down. "Science Cadet?"
"Yes, Sir." And feeling he should introduce himself, he added "Clark, Sir. Cadet Clark. May I sit down?"

“Permission denied” Drew said in response to S’reena’s request to leave the bridge, “I need you up here; the Doctor has a full medical team to help her.”
S’reena nodded and quietly sat back in her chair, Drew could see the look of disappointment on her face; he even understood her desire to help more directly that just sitting in a chair on a starship bridge. But like it or lump it that was the duty of a command officer.
As the turbolift doors opened to admit Konal and her cadets, Drew turned to listen to their reports. The situation was every bit as dire as what they had feared. The people of New Haven were suffering on an enormous scale and in all truthfulness there was little the Hanson could do to help, they were just but one, small, starship.
“Bridge to Sickbay, stand by with emergency medical teams,” S’reena ordered over the comm system, “Tactical and Engineering teams stand ready to assist.”
“Take us into orbit,” Drew said, turning his attention back to the viewscreen, “stand by to lower the shields for transport.”
“Wait,” S’reena said slowly, peering at something in the corner of the screen, then checking her sensors and then saying “computer, magnify grid 3-A.”
“What’s wrong?” Drew asked, turning to face his First Officer.
“There’s something there,” S’reena said, “the radiation is so strong that our sensors can hardly detect it, but look, it’s some kind of subspace rift.”
“What do you make of it Konal?” Drew asked, turning to face the science station.
“I am uncertain,” the Science Officer replied, “our scans are only partially complete, but it does appear to have some kind of gravitational pull.”
Drew and S’reena exchanged startled looks, a gravitational rift that size, and that close to the planet was a huge risk, it could pull the entire planet in.
“Take us our orbit so we can get a better look,” Drew ordered, “let’s keep our shields up just in case.”
As the Hanson moved away from the planet and back into the freedom of space, the image on the viewscreen changed to show the rift. Drew watched it for a few silent moments, then realised that it was getting bigger.
“Sir,” Egan, “we are being pulled into the rift.”
“All engines full reverse,” Drew ordered, rising from his chair and standing in the centre of the bridge, “all hands brace for turbulence.”
The bridge shook as the Hanson’s powerful engines went into full effect, trying to counteract the increasingly strong pull of the rift, several officers fell to the deck, and Drew was forced to return to his seat, where he grasped the arm rest.
“Engines are having no effect,” Egan called out, “one minute until contact.”
“Prepare to jump to warp,” Drew shouted out over the sound of the various alarms that were now ringing out.
“Sir, going to warp this closely to the planet could cause even more damage,” Egan said, “we could even…”
“I know the risks Lieutenant,” Drew barked, “helm, warp factor one engage!”
Suddenly a massive bolt of energy struck the ship, throwing everyone to the floor. As Drew pulled himself back to his feet, he saw that the rift was now even closer; the Hanson was just seconds away from flying into it.
“Computer, emergency warp power,” Drew ordered, when he saw that the helm was now empty, “pattern alpha.”
“Unable to comply,” the computer replied, “warp power is offline.”
“Open an emergency channel,” Drew called out, “this is the USS Hanson to any Starfleet ship, we have encountered a subspace anomaly that is pulling us into its centre, we require immediate assistance.” Drew looked back to the viewscreen, the rift now filled the screen, several officers were still on the floor, leaving most of the stations unmanned, the ship continued to shake violently, and then, as the ship moved into the rift, there was only darkness.
Vaguely aware that something important was happening, Drew tried to force himself to open his eyes, but he found it difficult, all he wanted to do was sleep, nothing else mattered, not the New Haven, not the rift, not the ship. Wait, the ship, something in his head told him that this was important, the ship was in danger. With that realisation, his eyes opened, he was flat on his back on the bridge, as was every other member of the bridge crew, the emergency lighting was on, and alarms were still sounding.
“Report,” he called out as he once again pulled himself back to his feet, “what’s happened? What’s our status?”
“The rift is gone,” Egan reported, “we seemed to have passed right through it.”
“Good,” Drew replied, “damage?”
“The comm is down, I can’t raise sickbay or engineering to get reports.”
“That’s never a good sign,” S’reena commented, now also back on her feet, “I’ll get down to engineering and find out what is happening.”
Drew nodded his head in agreement and then said to Konal “Start scanning the area, found out what happened to the rift, what it was and did it effect the planet in anyway?”
OOC: We are now in the Delta Quadrant folks, I’ll leave it to the rest of you to discover that fact. How will we react? What condition is the ship in? What unknown dangers might we encounter?

Simon opened his eyes, slowly, adding a blur of grey to his already swimming mind. His head was sending him a large number of pain messages, but his brain didn't seem to have noticed them yet. He was glad. He didn't like pain. He decided to more closely inspect this 'grey'.
In the maze of syrup that was his thoughts, one piped up and suggested that perhaps the grey was a blur because it was so close. 'Close?' He thought. 'Why would the grey be close? Grey wasn't supposed to be close, it was supposed to be down.'
'Floor', said another thought from the maze.
'Floor... I'm on the floor.' He encouraged his eyes to focus a little, and he recognised the rough grey carpet of... where?
'Meeting!' his brain supplied.
'Oh yes, the meeting... but meetings don't have carpets.' Addled, he tried to turn his head, and his brain registered the pain messages he'd detected earlier, and delivered them to him all at once. His thoughts tried to scream. His mouth uttered a rather pathetic grunt.
He saw some shoes approach him from accross the floor. 'Pain!' said his thoughts urgently. 'Shoes!' another thought added. The shoes stopped in front of him...

Noah sat in his chair, rather dazed, noticing that everyone else was lying on the floor. His daze was great enough that it took him a moment to realize that wasn't how they were supposed to be. What the blazes had just happened, anyway?
"Is...is everyone alright?" he asked, still shaking the fog from his head. "Cadet, you alright?" He had noticed Bit was lying next to him. The parts of his body in contact with the chair were quite sore.
"What...happened?" Bit asked as he lifted himself off the floor.
"That's what we need to find out," Noah said, and started to move his chair over to a console as he regained control over his own body.
"Looks like we may have power fluctuations all over the ship," Brac reported slowly.
"May have?" Noah asked, surprised at his assistant's uncertainty.
"I'm not sure. The computer's slow in responding to my queries," Brac reported more quickly as he too regained fully capacity.
"Could it be that rift that we apparently just got pulled through?" Noah asked.
"Brrrrriiiidddge toooo Ennnngiiiiiineeeeeriiiing...." came a very drawn-out and somewhat garbled comm-call.
"Is something wrong with the comm system?" Noah asked.
"Apparently," Woti reported, "as the computer logs that that was sent over a minute ago."
"Must be a problem with the ODN lines," Noah commented, then added in explanation to Bit, "Optical Data Network. The primary communications system within the ship. Apparently something's happened to it. Comm's on the fritz, and the computer isn't able to provide information at normal speed. Any ideas?"

"Must be a problem with the ODN lines," Noah commented, then added in explanation to Bit, "Optical Data Network. The primary communications system within the ship. Apparently something's happened to it. Comm's on the fritz, and the computer isn't able to provide information at normal speed. Any ideas?"
"hrmmmmmm" bit said looking at the terminal. "Well we could try speeding it up" bit said thinking of the first obvious way to get more info a little faster.
"And how would you suggest we do that?" Bates asked, evidently trying to pull more of an answer out of him.
Bit stared into the console thinking hard on the question. "Computer" he wasn't sure how he should phrase the question so he just said it "Speed up communications by .5" the computer beeped a little fast but still wasn't instant "Hrmm well that got it a little faster" bit said scratching his head
Noah sat back slightly, still dazed from going through the rift. "One of the ways to effectively deal with a problem is to determine it's cause. Any theories as to what's causing this?"
bit looked to noah then walked over to a terminal and looked at everything that was going on. "Well i thinkin that it has something to do with all the systems trying to work all at once and now its just causing a overload. I think if we just start shutting down the secondary systems and let the primary systems process and think a little bit then we should be able to turn the rest back on and it work fine again" bit said nodding then turning to noah
"But why would that be a problem? The computer's more than capable under normal circumstances of handling its current load."
"Yes but this isn't normal sir. We just passed though some kinda rift and thats obviously caused some kind of system malfunction and is disrupting all the systems"
"Very good. We need to know the nature of the malfunction. Perhaps you might check if there's something wrong with the computer processors."
Bit nodded then turned around to the console again " I will start a level 3 diagnostic on the processors then also check the gel pack network to make sure nothing is affecting them"

He smiled at cadet Clark as he entered the briefing,"Your instructor is quite wise to send you into this meeting cadet. Only by sharing can we realize what each of us has to do, You back round in science will be a good use for this meeting as our threat assements can be to you. By comparing what we each know we can eliminate what is not possible"
He felt the ship shift something was happening on the bridge "I would say for the moment everybody that the meetings is over report to your instructors and assume your duty stations" Looking at his cadets" lets move people I dont want us to be caught off guard if you know what I mean. "

Methos was watching the scene unfold on the main viewer and as Commander Hope suggested that the investigate subspace rift. Methos ran the tactical sensors through a series of scans on the rift, he hoped that he might be able to pinpoint what casued it.
He could vaguely hear the Admiral put out a distress call before everything went black. The next thing he remembered was waking up face down on the floor. He got up to one knee and shook his head. He slowly patted himself down to make sure nothing was broke or bleeding. Satisfied that nothing was he gingerly got to his feet.
Once there Methos did a quick scan of the surrounding area, only to find that long range sensors were down.
"Admiral, Long Range Sensors are down, although there are no immediate threats in the Area, I recommend Statying at Yellow Alert," Methos said.

Cadet Wolfe called to LT. Redos Egan. "Lt. There is an anomoly that is inteferring with my sensor reading of the industrial......" At that point cadet Wolfe was slammed into his console. It was the hardest the young Cadet had ever been hit. While laying there the Cadet look up to find himslef near the Nav console. He look up. "Lt. What happened?"

The initial pain subsided, and his senses returned to him, Commander K'ratak sat Simon in a chair in the briefing room and told him to go to sickbay, before he himself left the room, to deal with whatever was going on.
The side of Simon's head was sore, where he'd presumably bumped it on the floor when he fell, but he didn't think it had been enough to knock him out. It ached a little to make any sudden movements, so he carefully made his way out onto the bridge, and crossed to where Manto and another Cadet in a blue science uniform were standing.
Glancing around the bridge, taking in the dimpsy emergency lighting, and the occational yellow pulses of alert status, he wondered why New Haven was no longer in the centre of the viewscreen, and what could possibly have knocked out all the lights. Instead the display showed space, the distant stars partially obscured by a pinpricked array of rocks, distorted metallic plating and dust before the ship. He reached the Science station and shook hands with the Cadet at the console, who introduced himself as Calvin Brighton.
"What's going on?" He asked him.

Manto was at the back console and turned at the sound of his voice. Her face was no longer the cheery and enthusiastic one that had waved him off of the turbolift. She looked at him quizically.
"Are you injured, Cadet?"
"A little, Sir. I think I bumped my head when I fell, I have a bit of a headache. I'll call on sickbay for it later. What can I do to help?"

"Yes sir," S'reena answered, rose from her seat and tugged at the hem of her tunic. Once she stood, she brushed a loose strand of hair back behind her ear. It had come loose from the clip that was holding part of her hair out of her face when the ship was pulled through the rift. The strand, however fell right back in her face when she moved. Sighing, she tucked it away again, several times, before she reached the turbolift.
Looking back ever so briefly, she could swear she saw Drew chuckle, before he pulled his expression back into a straight face. She smiled, then stepped into the waiting car. "Engineering," she said, then remembered her son was still up on the bridge. "Relax," she told herself, "he's in safe hands with Doctor Westgate. The counselor will take care of him for now."
Breathing deeply a few times, she leaned against the wall only to loose her balance when the car suddenly shuddered to a halt. "Oh great," she cursed, walking over to the control panel. Then, the car lurched back into motion again with such speed that she actually flew against the ceiling for a few second, before crashing back into the floor. "Ow," she eclaimed, exiting the car when the doors opened before her.
"That was one hell of a ride," she told Bates as soon as she stumbled into engineering. "Comm's down," she continued, "we just got pulled into a rift and we don't know where we are. What is the status of the engines and do you need any help?"
She glanced at Cadet Bit-Cloud, noticing the Vulcan wasn't as emotionless as Vulcans were supposed to be. "Are you holding up all right cadet?" she asked, "why don't you get me an engine status report and tell me if we burned anything while trying to go to full reverse impulse."
As the cadet walked away, she returned her attention to Bates. "Turbolifts are malfunctioning too," she added, rubbing the back of her head, "I just made hard contact with the up and down side of one. And I tell you, it hurts."

"Yes Ma'am" Bit said walking over to a empty terminal.
"Level 3 diagnostics complete"
"Ah good" Bit said to himself and going over the results. "hrmm well if thats the problem then we should be able to correct it from over here" he said tapping at the console.
Bit turned around to Noah "Well it looks like the problem is with some of gel packs there not processing data correctly." he said looking back to the screen. "Hrmm wait thats no good" he said to himself again staring off into the screen.
"Well if nothing is getting through from the bridge or going really slow then either the gel packs are having problems becuase the diagnostic came back clean for the processors" He said half to noah and half to himself. he turned around again to face noah and S'reena.
"It looks like all major systems are still running its just the network is all sorts of screwed up since we went threw that rift, I'll probably have to shut the gel pack net off and run a higher level diagnostic either that or go out and check some of them myself" he finally said turning back to the console to start another diagnostic on the gel packs.

As the cadet walked away, she returned her attention to Bates. "Turbolifts are malfunctioning too," she added, rubbing the back of her head, "I just made hard contact with the up and down side of one. And I tell you, it hurts."
"Aye," Noah said, nodding. "Computer processing ability has apparently been significantly impaired. Hence the turbolift car's little joy-ride down the shaft."
Bit then came back and made his report about the processors.
"Well we certainly can't just take the bioneural circuitry offline, regardless of what shape it's in. It's like taking Life Support offline. We have to repair it while it's running, if it's the problem," Noah noted.
Noah rolled across the room. "What we can do is check a couple gel packs over here," he said as he neared a panel on the far wall. Bit and S'reena followed.
"Give me a hand with this," he said to Bit, and the two removed a panel. He removed the panel, and examined the gel packs. "Well this doesn't look good."
"What's wrong with them," S'reena asked, as this was probably her first time seeing the Mark II gel packs.
"To put it simply, these gel packs are a bit...pale," Noah said, unsure of a better term. "Cadet, in my office, in the top drawer of my desk there's a medical tricorder. Go get it for me."
"Yes, Commander," Bit said, and left to retrieve it.
"You have a medical tricorder in your office, Commander?" S'reena asked, a bit surprised.
"I keep it for situations such as these. With these gel packs, sometimes a standard tricorder can't tell you enough," he said, then took the med tricorder from Bit as he returned with it. "Thank you."
He carefully scanned each of the gel packs. "Well this definitely isn't good. These Mark II gel packs have been enhanced so that the synthetic neural strands within them are almost identical to neurons found in the brain. They form neural connections in much the same way. But those neural connections are breaking down. In essence, they're suffering the biological equivalent of old age. If more gel packs around the ship have the same problem, that would inhibit their processing ability, explaining the processing problem we're having with the computer. Going through that rift probably caused this. We need to figure out how this happened, and the extent of the damage to the Bioneural circuitry throughout the ship."

Still a little dazed from his sudden collision with the deck plating, Lieutenant Redos was beginning to become frustrated. His head, slightly slowed by its rather unfortunate contact with the console, was still working quite a bit faster than the aforementioned console. It seemed that every request was taking at least ten times longer than it should to process, sometimes even slower. After keying in the correct sequence to bring up scans of the region, all Egan could do was sit back and wait for the display to activate or for some sort of error message.
"Lt. What happened?" Cadet Wolfe asked, stumbling towards Ops from somewhere near the helm. The young man looked about as dazed as Redos felt, and the Bajoran officer wondered briefly how exactly he’d ended up halfway across the bridge. Perhaps it was best not to worry about that for now…
“We’ve crossed some sort of subspace anomaly. There’s some sort of computer delay that is making it very difficult to ascertain exactly what is going on. Man my console for a moment. I’m going to take a look at the circuitry and make sure it’s not just my board that’s malfunctioning. I’ve put through the command to bring up the sensor display, but it still hasn’t come up just yet.”
As the Cadet moved into position to watch for the requested information to light up the screen, Egan dropped to his knees to remove the panel underneath his console. The first thing he noticed was that the gel pack looked funny. Although all the wiring and the pack itself appeared to be intact and functioning properly, the gel looked to be the wrong color, something the Lieutenant had never seen before. While far from an expert on the Hanson’s systems, and even less familiar with the new upgrades, the operations officer had at least seen and briefly studied the new gel packs, enough to know that they didn’t look normal.
Replacing the panel and pulling himself a bit stiffly to his feet, Redos shrugged at Cadet Wolfe. “I can’t find anything specifically wrong with the console, even though the gel pack looks…strange to me. Still, I’m not 100% up to speed on the new systems, so that could mean nothing. Everything else looks normal, so perhaps it is a problem with the processor. Unfortunately, that does make things a bit more complicated, as that will hamper just about anything we try.”
Moving to retake the console, Lieutenant Redos glanced briefly over at the science stations wondering if they were having just as much trouble with the sensors as he was. It didn’t look like they were having any luck. Glancing back over at his Cadet, who was standing there looking puzzled, Egan got an idea.
“Cadet, as I recall from your bio, you have quite a bit of knowledge in temporal mechanics and stellar cartography, am I right? I don’t think we got a real good look at it, but if you could review the sensor logs of that anomaly we went through, perhaps you may be able to see something that might help. I know the computer being slow will make it a bit of a challenge, but see what you can find out.”
<Tag Wolfe>
As the Cadet moved to another console to try and bring up the scans, Redos glanced back at his still working console and sighed. Nothing he could do except wait for the results to process or hope the lag would clear up soon. The Bajoran briefly wondered about how Cadet Stewart was doing in sickbay, but there was no way to contact him and find out. He could only hope his services could be of use to the doctor and other medical staff in keeping sickbay operational.

After the meeting Cadet Huebner staggered back to the bridge. The turbulence was obscene so it took him quite a while. He staggered up to Colonel Methos and asked, "My god, what happened?" Working his way to an open station he quickly pulled up the records of what happened.
"My god, the planet was devastated, but where is it now?" Huebner thought. "Wait a minute, what is this? The long range sensors are down, but the local sensors are still working."
Huebner tried to increase the power to the sensors diverting power from other systems. He figured that whatever our situation we need to see what is going on, if there is a threat to the ship or some other problem, like where are we at.
After a few minutes work he hit one final keystroke. "Admiral, I have the sensors back online, I'm not sure configuration is optimal, but it's better than what we had. I am trying to get a fix on our location, but there are no identifiable reference points in range of our sensors at the present time. Perhaps the Astrometrics lab can increase the resolution. There is only one other ship in the immediate area, the New Dawn. Apparently they suffered from the same mishap as we did."

"I can assure you that sensors are working optimally, Cadet Huebner. Mr. Clark here ensured a good calibration." She smiled at Cadet Clark, who seemed to be on top of things.
She proceeded to ask if the Cadet was injured. Herself, she just strained her neck. Nothing unusual for the woman, who was only slightly past her prime.
"Admiral, we do not have visual of New Haven anymore," Commander Manto announced. "Working on our position..."
"We need to triangulate our coordinates, given known systems. These rifts can get tricky." she said to Cadet Clark. "Most of the time, these rifts send you a few light years."
She turned back to Admiral Drew after taking a few readings, "I don't see the rift anymore. It must have either closed up, or moved."
Konal, in the mean time, scanned for chronoton particles.
"No chronoton particles!" she announced happily. At least they were in their present frame of time. The 'when' was solved, but the 'where'... the cadet would have an answer soon hopefully.

Exiting the briefing room and heading to his station, he saw the Colonel Methos manning. "I"ll take over Colonel I'm sure your going to have more things to do." He started to study the read outs and wondered how this could have happened. It seemed as of late he couldn't just get a simple mission with nothing life threatening.
He started to pull up what every records he could from Voyager to see if they had anything to go. He waited for his cadets to join him to see if they could shed any light on the matter and to get there thoughts. Sometimes new eyes had a way of seeing things some people missed.

The chaos in sickbay had begun to abate the seriously injured survivors had all been treated and were resting. The others had been treated and discharged. Lorna was very glad to get them out of her sickbay. It also helped that the Admiral and the security cadet had left. Lorna had a moment to catch her breath and mug of coffee as she knew it couldn't be long before they arrived at New Haven and her team was needed again.
"Bridge to Sickbay, stand by with emergency medical teams," S'reena's voice came over the comm. "Dr Holsen here, we're ready and standing by." Lorna closed the comm link and doubled checked her teams. All was ready.
Then there was a shuddering which soon became a violent shaking and Lorna and her staff were thrown to the floor. Lorna wrapped her arms around her head as her feet left the floor. When the juddering stopped she got gingerly to her feet using one of the biobeds for support. Judging from the lighting, main power was out. "Okay everyone, report in. Let me know if you're injured."
One by one the medical staff called out across the darkened sickbay. Lorna was relieved they seemed to have got away with bumps and bruises. Neil, one of her nurses had collided with a wall an was now suffering a mild concussion. He was all ready being treated, while Lorna started on the next step.
=/\=Sickbay to Bridge=/\= Lorna called, there was silence. It seemed the comms were out. Lorna sighed.
"Elenna, you and I are going to the Bridge," The young Trill nurse nodded. "Entil and Helene you go to Main engineering." They nodded. "Everyone else stay here, hopefully power should be back on soon." She sighed and secured the emergency medical kit more securely across her body. "We're going to take the Jefferies Tubes. Take extra dermal and cortical regerators everyone is going to be bumped and bruised."
The four of the them took to the Jefferies Tubes, it was quite a climb but Lorna and Elenna made it to the bridge without incident. Lorna shoved the access panel out and climbed on to the bridge. "Anyone hurt?" she asked.
Tag: anyone on the bridge
Dr Entil and Helene made it to enginneering, he kicked the access panel and sent it skittering across the deck. "Does anyone need medical attention?" he called.
Tag: anyone in engineering
OOC: Dr Entil is a 43 year old male Denobulan and Helene Jackson is a 29 year old human female. They will quite happily patch up anyone who needs it.

"Just a headache," S'reena answered, explaining how she'd gotten it. "It's nothing, for now it'll actually help me focus. I'll stop by sickbay when the crisis is over."
She glanced over at Bates, who looked thoroughly worried. "Problem commander?" she asked, walking over to the wheelchair bound human.
"Internal sensors are offline, and I can't get at sensor control. It's on deck 15."
"I'll go down," the Romulan answered, batting away the persistent Denobulan nurse. "Leave me alone," she snapped, "I'm fine!" She gestured towards the Vulcan cadet. "Get your engineering kit, we're going to the belly of the ship."
She watched Bit-Cloud gather what he needed, listen to some final instructions from Bates, then follow her out of engineering. "Bates, keep those nurses here, if anything, engineering becomes triage for this level. Understood?"
"Yes ma'am." He glowered at the nurses. "As long as they stay out of may way."
"They will," S'reena answered, then led the cadet out of engineering. "We're taking the stairs," she told him, "turbolifts are dangerous at the moment."
She panted for breath when they reached the lowest deck, flexing and curling her fingers to get some feeling back into them when she stepped off the lowest rung of the ladder. "That way," she said, pointing in the general direction of sensor control.
As they entered the small room, she coughed as the room was filled with smoke. "Something definitely blew a fuse here," she commented, gesturing for Bit to look around and repair whatever was necessary. Meanwhile, she walked over to the one window in sensor control. "Might as well take a look outside," she suggested and leaned in to look around.
"Oh no!" she exclaimed, jumping back, "cadet take a look, we have to inform the bridge!" She tapped her combadge as Bit walked over. "Admiral, take a look outside," she gasped, peering at the huge Borg cube that hung dead in space off the port bow. "You're not going to believe this. Better get tactical to gear up our defenses, we're going to need it!"

Bit took a look out the window right as a 3rd borg cube popped out of space "Commander those are borg cubes." he said pointing out the window
"Yes cadet they are, Now if you will please hurry up and fix the internal sensors so we can get out of here" she said pushing bit back to the console.
"I don't think this is the time to be worrying about that but i can do it." he said pulling off the panel and pulling out his tricorder. He took a good look then started to rewire everything. It didn't take much for it to pop back on. "OK i believe that should do it" he said putting back on the panel.
"Good now lets get out of here" the commander said going back into the tunnels to head back to engineering. Along the way the ship started to shake and alarms started going off.
=/\= All hands to battle stations =/\= came the admirals voice over the intercom.
"Commander you wouldn't happen to know were the closest armory is would you?" Bit looked to S'reena.
"Ya its a few decks up why?" "Well im not sure about you but i would really like sommething to defend myself with i've heard the borg like to drop in and collect from ships" he said.
=/\= Bates to Bit-Cloud, Please head up to deck 4 and see if you can get the phasers somewhat workable, If S'reena have her lead the way. Bates out =/\=
"alright lets go cadet" she said going up the ladder. It took some time before arrived on deck 4. They got out of the tunnels and bit streched never actually have traveled that far in the tunnels. They made it to phaser Maintenance with out any problems yet and still no weapons. They got inside and S'reena turned to face bit.
"You stay here and get the phasers working i will be right back with a gun or two" she said turning around and went out door. "Computer lock the door" and the door closed and locked. Bit wasn't sure if it was safe or not but decided he would get things running before he couldn't anymore.
He walked over to a panel and removed it revealing its insides then going over to a console and seeing what the problem was. He pulled out his tricorder and went back to the panel and scanned and revealed the panel and everything was fine. It was probably the gel packs again.
He looked around for some kind of casing were the gel packs would be held. He didn't have a lot of time before 3 borg beemed in and started to look around. Bit stopped what he was doing and quickly went to a corner the furthest away from the borg. The doors opened and S'reena came in shooting but her shots not affecting them.
They all went right at her and attacked the next thing bit knew was S'reena was gone and he was running to attack were one of the borg transported out. He had barely missed them when he saw the weapon that S'reena had dropped and started to fire and then bit was also taken away....

Annabelle arrived early to the briefing room and watched the other cadets as they appeared in the doorway. When everyone had arrived, k’ratak started. She wasn’t sure about what could have caused the explosion that had almost wiped out all life on the system. She sat and listened to the ideas the other cadets were putting forward. All of a sudden the ship lurched at everyone was thrown to the floor. Annabelle felt her head hit something and she blacked out. When she came around she took an assessment of the situation. She’d only been knocked out momentarily as the rest of the people in the room were just getting to their feet. She tried to sit up and instantly felt a shooting pain in her head. She put her hand to her head and felt a bruise forming where her head had connected, possibly with the desk. K’ratak called the cadets that were not injured to him, to follow him to the bridge. Annabelle was keen to go to the bridge to find out what had happened, so she kept close to k’ratak on the walk to the bridge. When she reached the bridge, there was no sign of New Haven on any of the screens or she soon learnt, on any scopes. “Sir, should we raise the shields until we know the conditions and dangers?” Annabelle asked K’ratak. As a tactical cadet, her first priority was to assess the dangers arising from the situation. Then the call came though. Borg ships on scans. Pulling up the weapons screen she checked that the weapons were still online after travelling through the rift, which she had discovered was the cause of the turbulence.

To say Annabelle had surprised Clara was somewhat of an understatement. Having to put lots of effort into a situation she was slightly uncomfortable with was bad enough without having an invisible Cadet sneaking up. Nevertheless she took the warning about not being late for the meeting.
Clara finished talking to the patient the doctor had pointed out and headed straight to the meeting. Along the way she thought about the things that had been happening since they left the starbase. She had to admit that they hadn't gone how she expected, which was a lot to say for someone who prided herself on preparation.
On arriving in the briefing room Clara picked out a seat that was slightly away from Anabelle. There was still something about that girl that gave her the creeps. She listened to what K'ratak had to say and tried to think of ideas to contribute. To her dismay ideas didn't come easily. Unexplainable nerves were impairing her thought processes.
The shake that interrupted the meeting had little immediate effect on Clara except to throw her on the floor. She managed, by luck, not to hit anything on the way down and to land relatively comfortably. Clara quickly got herself back up and looked around. Most of the others were slowly starting to pick themselves up off the floor. Some people seem to be injured, but she tried to put this out of her head as she joined the group headed for the Bridge.
She heard Annabelle ask about shields and couldn't help but look at her for a second. Trying not to let her eyes widen she concentrated on the task at hand. But at the earliest opportunity she walked up to the other Cadet Bennet and whispered, "You know how you were invisible in sickbay? There's a bit of your head that keeps disappearing..."

Looking at both bennets and the information on the scanners. "You two start comeing up with ways to defend out selves. Thats our first concerns shields then weapons, do what you can to strenght the shields and keep those tractor beams off us. Also start getting patrols going it will only be a matter of time before we have unwanted guest."
"I know this is not the ideal mission for you first time out, but if you weren't ready you wouldn't be wearing that uniform. So dont secound guess your self go with you gut feelings. Its normaly right the first time. Keep eye's on the admiral his saftey just became a main concerns. The borg would love to get there hands on a fleet admiral, the things they could learn could cause a lot of damage."(TAG both Bennets)

As soon as Methos heard about the Borg Cube, he said, "Admiral, recommend Battle Stations."
<Drew>
As the call went out, Methos notified his Marine Contingent that they were to go to Main Engineering and the Bridge first, patrols to be coordinated with the security cadets and he wanted to additional on the bridge.
He then turned to Commander K'ratak, "I agree, Cadet Huebner, work with cadets Bennet and Bennet, if they need something, you be the first to offer," he then lowered his voice so only Huebner would hear him, "It's the gentlemanly thing to do."

As Calvin filled him in on the events he had missed, Simon overheard Manto:
"I can assure you that sensors are working optimally, Cadet Huebner. Mr. Clark here ensured a good calibration." She smiled at him.
He really was going to have to tell the commander about that, and was about to, when something Calvin said caught his attention...
"A rift in space? We're somewhere else?"
"That's right, Cadet." Manto told him, coming over, "We need to triangulate our coordinates, given known systems. These rifts can get tricky." she said to Cadet Clark. "Most of the time, these rifts send you a few light years."
"Yes, Sir."
Simon took the rear panel at the science station, and confirming long range sensors were online, instructed the computer to scan for familiar stars, with comparisons to the database. With the main computer struggling with it's gel packs, progress was slower than usual, but fortunately a great deal of the database was in the current databank of the science station, and it had its own isolinear processor to reduce the loading on the main computer's data bus.
Simon liked computers, he got along well with them, and found the LCARS interface extremely intuitive, and navigated it naturally. He found it calming, and it took his mind off his headache, which didn't seem to have improved. After five minutes, the console had exhaused the local data, which was predominently alpha quadrant stars, and announced no matches. That meant none of the stars were familiar. Worry rising from his diaphram, he instructed a full database search, calling a data spread from the main computer's databanks.
The query took several long seconds to traverse the neural circuitry between the console, and the distant computer, but it was soon feeding back star systems, albeit slowly, and the console called up it's first match.
"I've found a matching star system." he announced proudly to his local world in general, without looking up from the display.
The star on the screen was identified as that of the Taresian homeworld, not much more than a spec on the sensors, but the same planet encountered by the USS Voyager in 2374.
"But... it's in the Delta quadrant..." he said to himself.
Every few minutes the computer identified another star system. Each one distant, but too close to be anywhere near home. Once he had six stars, he quickly had his console triangulate where they were.
The display positioned them about 200 light years away from Taresia and the other five stars identified by the console, some way beyond the point at which Voyager had made it's miraculous 10,000 light year jump across Borg controlled space. Simon stood up and felt faint, his head was pounding from the sudden movement. He had to tell someone. This was important.
"Commander Manto!" He called across the room to where Manto was discussing something with Admiral Drew. "I've worked out where we are..." he paused, not for effect, but to stop himself collapsing, "...we're 190 light years into Borg space." He sank to his knees ungracefully, "I'd like to see a doctor now, please, I have a headache."
