"Believe me, I don't take mind melds lightly in an case." She says as she helps him with the real her. She decides to go to her quarters for some rest, being tired from the day's events. She finds Rodriguez with the kids, and thanks him for his services. She gets the kids ready for bed, and then goes and does the same. She closes her eyes as soon as they hit the pillow.
A couple hours later, she finds she has all the sleep she needs for now, and decides to get dressed and go to the bridge. She has the nanny come to stay with the sleeping children. When she walks onto the bridge, she goes over to her chair, and looking around the bridge she notices the night crew has come on. "Report." She says hoping they now notice they have been locked out. The sooner they take over the ship, the better she will feel, and she knows it.

Duplicate Nephi was working on some additional command lock-out programs, just in case they needed them in addition to the Computer lock-out set up the the duplicate Brothis. He was supposed to be correcting a minor discrepancy in the Warp matrix, but fortunately the original Nephi was on the other side of the room.
Duplicate Sarah came over. "We need to get rid of him," he said, gesturing toward the original Nephi. "He's too observant and intelligent, he'll discover us eventually."
"That will be rather difficult. He probably wouldn't let me out of his site, and how would we explain my presence alone? He's too cheerful and trusting, quite irritating after a while. Perhaps we could arrange a little accident for him. My scans indicate that their Doctors have been dealt with, and we now control Sickbay. He would be unlikely to recover quickly for an accident."
He cut himself off quickly as the original Nephi came over. "Have you had any thoughts about the variance in the communications system?" Nephi1 asked. "I still have yet to decipher it."
"Actually, thats just what Sarah and I were discussing," Nephi2 responded. "We think that by applying a recursive algorithm to the communications grid, we should be able to phase out the variance."
Nephi1 nodded, and Nephi2 went to work. He managed to remove the variance. "There we go, all fixed."
"Excellent," Nephi1 said, smiling.

Yawning, Mark Harper reached over to his old-fashioned alarm-clock and gave it a whack on the top. He couldn't quite believe that he'd slept this deep and wondered for how long the alarm had been going off. He yawned again and stretched out his arms as he sat up, pulling back the covers.
When he swung his legs over the edge of his bed, he had the distinct feeling something was out of the ordinary, but he couldn't quite understand what. "Computer, lights," he ordered, and squinted briefly against the sudden light. As he turned to pull his covers back up, he did a double take; someone else was sleeping in his bed, and from the expression, he could tell that it was a male.
~oh my god~ he thought, blanching ~I didn't.....~ With his mind still wondering about the male in his bed, he went in search for a clean uniform. Once he was dressed, he went back up to the bed and shook the still sleeping man. Now that he could clearly see his face, he blinked; he was looking at himself.
"What," he started, suddenly at a loss for words. He just stared down at himself, until his mirror opened his eyes.
"What," Mark echoed, bolting upright. "Who are you!"
"I could ask you the same question!" Mark Harper snapped back, "what are you doing in my bed!"
"Sleeping, obviously," Mark Harper countered, "and get out of my way, I need to get back to work!"
Stunned, Mark stepped aside to let the other Mark pass. He rubbed his eyes furiously, hoping that he was still asleep, but when he opened them again, a fully dressed copy was standing before him, a phaser leveled at him. "Good night," Mark snarled, and pressed the trigger.
Pain seared through Mark's body as he collapsed, and his vision went black.
"Harper to Sonak," Commander Harper called, on a secured frequency, "the nightwatch officer has been taken care of. I'll be headed towards the bridge now."
<sonak2>
Coffee and sandwich in his hand, Mark yawned and stepped onto the bridge. "What did I miss?" he enquired, gazing at the bridge personnel. "I woke up just now and was encountered by a mirror image of myself. I've stunned him out of self defense, he attacked me. Someone please see to it that he's escorted to the bridge, nobody'll attack anyone on my watch!"

In sickbay, Dr. Caldwell was busy working on the ultimate weapon for the crew. Suddenly he found the answer to keeping them safe while the other crew would be knocked out, and he smiled to himself. "Caldwell to Sonak. I have everything ready on this end, and I just await your command to begin." He said.
On the bridge, Sonak turned to Harper. "Good work, we don't want any of our crew harmed." She said to him, and then recieved the call from the doctor.
"Go ahead doctor, we are ready on this end. Sonak to Brothis, I need you to have security round up the unconscious crew. Take them to the brig for now, and when that fills up use the cargo bay, and lock them inside." She said hoping that this would work. Suddenly the bridge fills with a green smoke like substance, and she told the crew not to worry. She said it probably wouldn't affect them.

OOC: Before (and a bit while/after) the green smoke.
The scanners had picked up some substance in the nebula that couldn't be identified with the ships scanners. Some samples were beamed onboard. Both Foxes had left the science station on the bridge and went to the science labs. Fox 1 carried a tube with the substance.
After they'd entered Science Lab 1, Fox 1 put the tube on a desk. "Now lets see what this is." Before opening the tube with the substance Fox 1 ordered to put a containment field around the area they were working. Both put on some kind of mask before Fox 2 opened the tube and put some of the substance on a plate. After putting it in a machine Fox 1 went to his console looking at the readings.
Suddenly the rest of the science lab was filled with the green smoke. Fox 1 didn't notice it as he was too busy working with the readings. Fox 2 knew immediately his Sonak was up to something. He tried to lower the containment field. In the mean time Fox 1 had seen the greenness around him and stopped Fox 2 from lowering it.
"Are you nuts?" Fox 1 said. "We're safe in here."
A struggle followed both trying to knock the other unconscious. After some time both were exhausted, the greenish smoke began to disappear outside the containment field as non had come out as the winner of the struggle.
Not much later a security team stepped into the science lab. Holding the arms of Fox 2, Fox 1 called. "Ah, am i glad to see you guys. Could you help me? He has gone insane. He attacked me." Fox 1 ordered to lower the field. As soon as it was down he got knocked on his head with something. Before he passed out he heard someone say "goodnight".
Fox 2 looked at the security team. "Am glad you guys stopped here. I couldn't have done it alone." The leader of the team smiled and said. "Take him to the cargo bay, the brig is already full."

"Sonak to Brothis, I need you to have security round up the unconscious crew. Take them to the brig for now, and when that fills up use the cargo bay, and lock them inside."
"Yes ma'am," he and enters a few commands on his console. A moment later, a green vapor started pouring out on all decks. Trichloro-pentafluoro-tricyanate; harmless to the duplicates' slightly modified physiology, but would knock the original crew out cold.
The original Brothis came in just in time to see the command entered. "What have you done?!" he demanded, but quickly went unconscious before the explanation could be skipped.
He went into the main section of the Security office, where his teams were grouping within the next few minutes. "Alright," he said addressing them, "I want the Senior Staff all in seperate brig cells, alone. After that, the rest of the crew in the grid-like forcefields we planned. Let's move."
A while later, Brothis entered Engineering. There was the unconscious Nephi1, slumped over an environmental control console. "He tried to stop the gassing," Nephi2 explained, "but discovered that he was locked out." A evil grin formed on his face.
"Him I want to secure in the grid," Brothis explained, pushing Nephi1 to the floor. "I don't him having anything to work with. He gestured for two security officers to take Nephi1 away.
"Wait," Nephi2 said, stopping them. "This one I want to carry myself. It will be my pleasure to lock up this annoying little organic being," he said, rolling Nephi1 over with a kick of his foot.
As Security began rounding up the other originals, Nephi2 gestured to Sarah2. "Wanna help me drag him?"
"With pleasure," she said, as they lifting his arms, taking him away.
A few minutes later, he was placed into his designated spot in the grid on the cargo bay floor. Once everyone was in, Nephi2 entered a few commands. A grid of forcefields appeared, locking each original crewmember in their own little square meter.

*OOC: sorry for the absence. Wedding planning....
IC: Nick slowly shuffled towards his quarters. It'd been a long week, indeed very long. His head pounded, his arms and legs felt heavy. He just wanted to finally go to bed. As L'Ola had asked him, "why do you do this to yourself? It's not helping anyone." Yeah it wasn't helping anyone, but it was better than drowning in a bottle or worse. He rubbed his eyes as the door came nearer.
The information from L'Olas discovery was interesting, apparently she intercepted a message to all the doubles. ~I'll deal with this in the morning~ he though as he punched in his new security clearence into the padd next to his door. A satisfied beep sounded and the doors parted. He stepped in.
"Lights, 15%," he ordered the computer. The lights came to a nice comfortable glow, like that of a few candles. He pulled off his uniform top, placed his badge on the table and walked over to his computer to check his mail. Mainly to see if there were any updates from Tandar. The computer informed him that there were no new messages. He stretched and yawned only to have his yawn interupted by a mind piercing cry ~NICK!~. He gripped his temples as the cry was intense, but only momentary.
"Sonak," he said softly, he was now wide awake. He spun around to grab his uniform shirt only to be met with a fist. He sprawled out on his back in shock as to who was standing over him.
"You're not supposed to be here," he said in shock.

"You're not supposed to be here," Nick said in shock. His face paled at the sight of her. Her dark hair cascaded over her shoulders and her bright blue eyes seemed to glow in the low light. She pressed a boot into his throat.
"Thats exactly right Commander, I'm not." Kate said leaning on his throat. "Our intelegence on your ship lacked the detail that you'd transfered your most notorious criminal just before arriving at the nebula. But regardless, there is a task to be done."
"You'll never get away with this," he spat on her boot.
"Oh please, is that really all you can do? I would have expected much more from you Nick. Well goodnight then, my love."
She gave one swift kick and sent him flying across the room into the edge of the bed. His body lay there motionless, blood dripped from his nose and mouth. She pulled out her communicator. "Martens is taken care of. Oh and by the way shoot whoever did the recon. My double is no where to be found."
Kate pulled her cloak close around her and stepped out into the darkened night lit hallway, hitting the lock on the way out.

Sonak was lying motionless in one of the stasis chambers in sickbay. Her double and hér husband had stripped her of anything that would interfere with the volatile stasis field. She was completely unaware of things around her and it was just as well. Being severely claustrophobic would've made matters considerably worse.
Jatan and Caldwell were lying in chambers on either side of her, and the three of them were obscured from sight by a hatch. This hatch was locked with a code only the chief medical officer could over ride. There was just one disadvantage with stasisfields, if a live person was stored in there for the sole purpose of keeping them in suspended animation and prevention of death, and the field collapsed, the person inside would die.
Her face was devoid of any expression, and her hands were folded over her chest. Anyone who would see her (if that were possible) would believe her to be in a deep dreamless sleep.
Jatan's double strolled before the chambers, checking on their circuitry. Being an exact copy of the original doctor made him a caring doctor, even though there were subtle differences where his own personality at times clashed with that of the real deal. Yet this uniqueness made him check the chambers every so often, and making sure the back-up emergency aggregates were in perfect working order.
Then he noticed one of the back-ups, that would power the three chambers if the main aggregate would fail, was in fact not working. Since he didn't want murder on his conscience, and the Hippocratic oath was firmly in his mind, he tapped his combadge. "Reckus to engineering, one of the aggregates isn't working. Send someone to repair it, quickly!"
Jatan was sure that eventually someone would find out about them, and he didn't want the original crew to die. He swirled around when he heard steps behind him, and gazed in the eyes of Nick's double. "Ah right, come with me," he said, motioning the navigator to follow. "I've got just the thing to cure you. Oh as former engineer, could you have a look at those back-up power systems? One of them is failing."
The CMO pressed a hypospray against Nick's throat. "That should make you feel better." He gazed back over to the room with the stasis chambers. "I'm not sure putting them in there was such a good idea," he confided to Nick, "only a CMO can override the locks once a chamber is activated, this to prevent someone from altering a course of treatment, or wanting to kill a loved one or something." He paused, then cast a helpless look at his friend. "My original, I mean....the person who is the actual CMO on this ship is also in one of those chambers, and he's the only one who can get them out." Again he paused, and now actually looked desperate. "I don't know the code Nick, if we are in need of them at some point, I can't get them out! And if I tamper with the locks, or have engineering tamper with them, they'll be killed. I won't have that on my conscience!"

Jared woke up as a respirator was pushed onto his face. It was the one on the boarding suit he had used to board the Derisak. As his vision cleared, he could see the small silver thing pushing it onto his face. It was Sprite. The thing shouldn't be able to do that, but somehow it was. Maybe its programmed task to keep the crew safe caused it to follow a certain known pattern of survival.
As his mind woke up, Jared could hear someone banging on the door, apparently trying to break it down. He could see why; there were a few patches where someone had welded the door together. It hadn't been him, so it could only have been Sprite using its welding torch. Again an odd thing for the robot to do.
Quickly Jared dressed in the same gear he had used on the Derisak. He pointed his gun at the door. Sprite still had the little welding torch attachment connected. The doors crunched open and in the hole Jared could see three 'security' officers. He fired three times, each one dropped. It had been him or them and he was damned if it was going to be him. As he squeezed through the hole, he saw a fourth one on the floor with major burns to the face. Done by a welding torch. 'Computer, where are Commander Kanz and Lucy Kanz?' No reply. Bugger. 'Sprite, fetch the scanner' Sprite did so. The scanner wasn't exactly ideal for this job, all it could tell you is at best which species were around you. Still, Lucy would be easy enough to find and right now Jared could do with her help. After a little while, the scanner finally picked up a half Tellerite. Jared waited for a while longer. It picked up another one. One was in the jefferies tubes, the other on the bridge. Chances are, the gas hadn't worked on her and she had fled into the tubes to avoid the copies. It was a good idea, but Jared imagined she'd be pretty scared around now. He left Sprite in his quarters and went to find her in the tubes.
After a little while crawling around using the less than exact scanner to locate her, a crowbar swinging past his head told him he had found her.
'Hello' was about all he could think to say after the rather awkward silence which follows an attempted murder between friends.
'What are we going to do?' she asked
'I don't know, but if you can access the computer again then we could find out what the copies are actually doing with the ship. They must want it for a reason'
Lucy nodded; after all, the copies hadn't known that she had accessed the files and even if they did, she was a better hacker than anyone else in a long distance. It had struck Jared before how useful she would have been on a Venturer ship with that ability.
'What happened to Commander Kanz?' Jared asked
'I don't know, she was unconsious when I left the room. Some sort of green gas knocked her out and I ran before anyone came to find us.'
'Good thinking. Before we can help her though, we need to find her.'

"I will gladly find them and put them through a lot of pain first, no one makes mistakes on my watch." She said not happy with this latest error. She looked around wondering who would make such a mistake.
"I want that person found and I want it yesterday." She said angrily to the security officer on the bridge.
"Aye aye ma'am," the security officer replied, swallowing. He'd never seen his commanding officer this angry before. "And whoever missed them will be punished severely." He grasped his phaser firmly, and sped off to find the girl's double to give him a hand.
"How goes our little take over? Are we having any resistance, and is everyone accounted for?" She said to Brothis over the commlink hoping to have good news by that time.
(Brothis)
"I see, well round up any strays, and make it quick. We can't have them messing up our plans. Sonak out." She said hoping to modivate him.
"Helm lay in a new course to Romata Six, and go to the fastest warp we have available." She said knowing exactly what to do with the real crew. She smiled for the first time in a couple days, and she started to relax, but only a little.

Mira Syal 1 walked from the Bridge, having finished her shift and made her way to her quarters. She got there and looked out at the stars, smiling. She was very confused right now, there was supposedly a ‘copy’ of her on board who wasn’t really her but looked like her…
She made her way to the replicator. “Deka tea, please” She held the cup in her hands, letting it warm them slightly, before turning back to the replicator: “Do you do Jumja sticks?” and watched them fizzle into being.
Syal 1 bit into one and grimaced slightly. “Too sweet…oh well, I’m too hungry to care!” Sitting on the bed in her room, she kicked off her shoes, thinking that she could do with some sleep.
….
The next thing she knew, she was surrounded by what seemed like the rest of the crew in the cargo bay, as confused as anyone else.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Syal 2 was currently assigned as part of the group guarding the prisoners in the mass prison in cargo bay 4. She hadn't seen her original in quite some time and was amused to see that the original was in the prison she was now guarding.
Mira 2 passed the time identifying people she had seen before in the unconscious bodies on the floor. She didn't recognise many, but she did notice a few of the senior crew there. Hepta, Fox, Kanz.
She found the task extremely dull, and her mind began to wander. She wondered how long it would take to reach their destination. Hijacking a whole ship was risky and although most the crew were now asleep and accounted for, some would have fallen unconscious in the jefferies tubes around the ship and so were unaccoutned for. Not for the first time, Mira 2 couldn't help feeling worried and hoped they would be there soon.

Nephi slowly drifted back into consciousness, and the first thing he noticed was his headache. Whatever that chemical was messed with his body big time. Moving a bit, he felt himself laying on something cold and hard.
Opening his eyes, he found himself on the cargo bay floor. Lifting himself up slightly, he found the room filled with Vesuvius crew, laid in a regular pattern. Some were standing looking around, frantically. Others were huddled in fear. Moving to stand up, his foot hit a force-field. Edging away from it, he found himself up against another field, a meter away. Feeling away, with brief jolts of pain each time, he discovered he was in a square meter of space.
He stood up carefully. He was in the row closest to the door. Looking around at the faces in the room, he found he was the ranking officer present. Not that that did any good. When others present realized he was awake, he was besieged with voices.
"Commander, who are they?"
"What do they want with us?"
"How are we going to get out of here?"
"I don't know," Nephi replied, attempting to stay calm. "However they are, what they want can't be good, given that we've been inprisoned. We-"
He stopped when he heard the cargo bay door open. He saw his duplicate walk in. "You!" he yelled.
A smirk grew on his duplicate's face. "You're too trusting, Nephi. And so gullible. You never once worried that we might be harm to you."
"The accident where you came to be wasn't an accident, was it?" Nephi asked, the mental cogs starting to turn. "You lured us here, and accelerated us."
"Bravo, Commander. I thought you'd be too stupid to figure it out," his double taunted.
"How did you know so much about me?" But then he realized. "The communications grid variance. It was a tap. You were spying on us."
"Again, well done. I got rid of it to gain your trust," Nephi2 said in a condescending tone. "You were too foolish to suspect that we might have had something to do with it to begin with."
"But how did you know about the seal blood? I never tell anyone....except mentioning it in the letter to my sister last month."
"Quite a useful bit of information, I must say thank you so much for providing it," he said, and went over to the console in the room. He tapped a few keys.
"What do you want with us?" Nephi called out.
"We want this ship," he stated without looking up. "We're infiltrating Starfleet, and such an advanced ship with an experienced crew was the best way do it." He finished at the console. "I hope you enjoy your prison, Commander. You'll by trapped in one place or another for a very long time," he said, and headed out of the room, replaced by a low-ranking Security Officer.
Nephi threw himself at the forcefield toward his retreating duplicate. "You'll never get away with this!" he yelled.
The duplicate stopped in the doorway and turned around. "We already have." He left, and the cargo bay.

Mark Harper had taken control of the navigations console, now that Nick had gone off to sickbay for some odd reason. He really could care less what the navigator was doing in his spare time, as long as it wouldn't jeopardize their mission. "Setting course for Romata Six," he acknowledged his commanding officer's orders, "ETA is two days at warp five."
He swiveled around to face her, as he patted the console. "You know this ship's pretty advanced, perhaps we could play with it's special functions a little?" As he gazed past the Vulcan, he noticed a light flashing on the operations console, which wasn't manned at the moment. "Message ma'am," he notified her, "coming from within the ship."
The human got up and walked over to the OPS station. "It's from Caldwell, he says that you need to keep an eye on Jatan, he's going soft. Caldwell says he's overheard him whine to Mr Martens about not knowing the override code to release his original, as well as the two others in stasis."
Harper gazed directly at Sonak. "I agree, he may pose a threat to our objective. I suggest too that you keep a close eye on him. Though, I do hope you don't need those three originals, if he indeed doesn't know the code, we do indeed have a severe problem."

Sam lay curled up on the cargo bay floor, listening to the conversations going on around him. He couldn't really be bothered getting up, and he might have to contribute something if he did.
He had been feeling a bit down lately anyway. It hadn't been helped by Ed working extra shifts and Lucy always running off to help that head of Operations.
After a few more minutes he felt his leg going numb, and had little choice but to stand up. Careful not to look any other engineers in the eye, he cast a glance around to look at the other departments.
Ed had ended up with his friend Jamie, and the pair of them seemed to be engaged in an animated discussion, apparently not caring that they'd been captured. He spotted Commander Kanz over in a far corner obviously trying to keep the situation under control.
But Sam couldn't see Lucy anywhere. It bothered him that he was worried. If anything happened to her he didn't know what he'd do.

-¦- Scene: USS Vesuvius-A, Sickbay -¦-
<snip from Sonak> "I'm not sure putting them in there was such a good idea," he confided to Nick, "only a CMO can override the locks once a chamber is activated, this to prevent someone from altering a course of treatment, or wanting to kill a loved one or something." He paused, then cast a helpless look at his friend. I won't have that on my conscience!" </snip>
"Maybe I can help," Admiral Hepta said, stepping forward. Other than turing around in surprise, the copies of Dr. Reckus and Cmdr. Martens did nothing. Thank the stars they don't, Hepta thought. It kind of proved a point which he very much wanted to have proven, namely that the copies had no direct way of keeping each other apart from the original crew.
"You aren't a doctor, are you?" Reckus asked.
"True, but I do know a lot about these security systems." He walked over to the three stasis units. "Well, my original does, and by extension, so do I. My original probably knows a few things even the Commodore's original doesn't, even if this ship was commissioned after my retirement."
Both other men stayed silent, but Reckus indicated with a curt nod that Hepta could proceed. So far, so good. They didn't seem to suspect anything yet, and with some luck, they wouldn't until it was too late. Hepta's double quite certainly wouldn't be able to foil his plans. Hepta had knocked him out cold the moment they entered his quarters, as he was quite convinced at that point that the doubles were up to something. When a greenish gas started to appear, he knew for sure. He took a respiratory mask from his belongings--an advantage of suffering some lung problems a few months ago--and stayed put until the air was clean again. He replaced his own comm badge with his double's, figuring that was probably something used to keep everyone apart. Before long a pair of security guards entered his quarters and they took the double--carrying Hepta's own badge now--without a word. He'd probably be out for at least another two hours, thanks to a sedative Hepta had injected just before the guards arrived.
Letting go of those memories, he focused on the task at hand. The stasis units were protected quite well, but every protection could be broken. Hepta probably did indeed know a few things about the ship's security systems Sonak didn't know, or her husband, for that matter. In fact, it shouldn't be too difficult to get the two of them and Dr. Caldwell out of stasis. At least, if those copies of Reckus and Martens weren't looking over his shoulder. If only one of them would leave...

ooc: assuming Rodriquez and the kids are in the same cell....
"Ooh my head!" Harper moaned, rubbing the back of his head. That motion caused him to lose what precious little balance he had and he tumbled off the bunk in his cell. "What..." he exclaimed, as he rubbed his arm and sat up.
He blinked against the bright light in the cell and gazed around to get his bearings. "A cell," he murmured, "well isn't that just peachy!" He reached up to touch his combadge, only to find it gone. "That [word deleted]," he growled, as he climbed back on the bunk and allowed himself to regain full control of his senses.
Across the cell, he saw the prone form of Admiral Hepta. Mark noted that the old man wasn't moving. "Admiral!" he called, then pressed his hands on his ears, cringing at the loudness of his own voice as his head was still pounding. He leaned his hand against the wall as close to the forcefield as he dared to. "Admiral Hepta, are you all right!" he called again.
Leaning in as closely as possible, he peered around the brig area as far as he could see. Elsewhere he noticed a Hispanic young man, accompanied by four smaller forms. ~children!~ he realized ~they've stunned children!~ Squinting, he gazed in the young man's direction and he recognized him as Med Tech Juan Rodriquez.
"Juan!" he called, "what happened!"
"Don't know sir," Rodriquez replied, as he cradled the youngest two children, "one moment I'm tending to the commodore's children, then next I wake up here. They're in a bad shape sir, the oldest two have woken up, but the youngest won't wake."
Harper cursed under his breath. "If they're harmed...." he started. ~then what?~ he added in thought ~I can't do anything being locked up here~
"Did you call for help?" he asked.
"No sir, I didn't yet, I've only just woken up myself. I'll give it a few more minutes. They're only two years old, perhaps whatever knocked us out has a different effect on Vulcans." Then his head snapped up, his eyes filled with fear. "Speaking of Vulcans, where is she?"
Harper strained to look around. "I don't know, she isn't here. But I don't see anyone else of the senior staff either. Perhaps they're out of our line of sight, it's quite possible." The night watch FO gazed over at Hepta, who was now stirring. "Sir, can you look around? Can you seen anyone of the senior staff? Can you see the commodore?"

Nick looked perplexed at the Admiral. He knew more somehow about the security systems than Nick did, which was odd. But he figured that it was better that way. His doubling process somehow wasn't as complete as the others. The real Nick was too unstable to get accurate readings on his mind.
"I'll let you too it then Admiral," he said. He nodded to Jatan on his way out.
As he walked out into the corridor he hit his combadge.
"Sonak, he's getting soft. I'd suggest keeping an eye on him."

Nephi looked around the room, thinking to himself. Force-field emitters were only so frequent in a cargo bay such as this one. The lattice must be placing quite a bit of strain on them already. If they were to have additional strain on them.....
"Johnston, Braxton," he said as quiet as possible, making it look like he was examining his pant leg, hiding his mouth. "I want you to pass it along this row that I want everyone to take off a boot and push it into the forcefield in front of us. If it develops a hole in front of you, get through the rush the guard."
Within a minute or two, the word was passed along, he removed his boot. Whenever along did the same, he shoved it into the forcefield. Everyone in the row did the same. The boot was insulated, and therefore didn't transfer the energy to the person, but caused a fluctuation in the field. Add nine more such disturbances...
It worked. A small hole developed in the field, but a few spaces down from Nephi, not in the middle where he was like he'd hoped. But, dutiful to orders, the crewman in the slot pushed his way through the field, rushing the guard.
Unfortunately, the guard was too quick, having already been alerted by the fluctuating field. She shot down the crewman before he could get halfway to her. She went to Nephi. "This was your idea, wasn't it?" she asked, glaring at him. "Well you failed."
She went over, and tapped a few keys. "Computer, change field One-alpha to a Level 10 field." She looked over. "That should keep you in."
She then pressed the comm. "Cargo bay four to Bridge. I need more Security down here. We've had an escape attempt."

"Bridge," she told the computer as she stepped into the turbolift. She adjusted her body-hugging jump suit, it was a new style for her. It felt wierd to have every part of her physique so evident, which was why she wore a cloak over top. Didn't want the young ensigns to oggle her as she walked by, or maybe she did.
The turbolift opened to the bridge and the woman stepped out. There in front of the command chair stood a woman, which only looked like Sonak. She stood with the authority and poise of Sonak, and probably talked like her too. Kate suppressed her hatred for the woman as this woman before her wasn't the one she'd tried to kill so many times.
"Ah you did make it," Sonak2 said as she noticed Kate walk out onto the bridge. She smiled at the young Tandaran woman.
"You didn't double me," Kate said bluntly to Sonak2 as she stepped closer.
"Didn't need to. Your part of the deal was letting us know where Vesuvius was. Your double would have had no purpose to our plans Kate," Sonak waved her hand motioning to the ship around her. "This ship however is perfect for our plans against Starfleet and the Federation. And you helped us get her."
Kate looked at her surprised.
"What did you think we just wanted to kill Vesuvius? My dear Kate how mistaken you have been. Now if you'll excuse me I've got an empire to destroy," She turned back to the main screen and answered a communication from Sickbay.
Kate stepped back into the turbolift feeling rather conflicted. Her dispisation and hatred for this ship and crew had somehow blinded her against a bigger threat. One against the entire Galaxy.
The turbolift opened and she stepped out.
~I need to think and I'm going to need help~ she thought. She leaned momentarily against the bulkhead to think and to soak in what she'd just realised.
~Nick can help~ she concluded, she darted down the hall towards thier quarters, rather his quarters.
[tag Nick]

-¦- Scene: USS Vesuvius-A, Brig -¦-
<snip from Sonak> The night watch FO gazed over at Hepta, who was now stirring. "Sir, can you look around? Can you seen anyone of the senior staff? Can you see the commodore?" </snip>
The double of Admiral Hepta knew something was wrong even before he opened his eyes. He wasn't supposed to rest, and certainly not to sleep; not unless the situation called for it in order to distract the Starfleet crew, which was a stage they passed some time ago. He remembered that much and he kept his eyes shut until the rest of his memories returned. No need to let anyone know he was awake before he knew what had happened.
As Harper continued talking--to him as well as to any number of other people--Hepta2 quickly figured out where he had to be and why. The brig, because his original thought he was smarter. Well, he'd soon have to rethink that.
"Shut up, Commander," he snapped, growing tired of Harper's ongoing chatter. It had the desired effect of getting everyone silent. Those nearby him backed off a bit as he got up and walked to the entrance of the cell. One of his companions was standing on the other side of the forcefield. "My original knocked me out and had me taken here," he explained. The security Ensign hesitated, so Hepta2 pressed on. "Check my biosigns if you want proof. Well, come on!"
The Ensign pulled up a tricorder and took a quick scan. He nodded when he got the results on the screen. Waving his phaser rifle, he commanded, "Stay back, everyone," and deactivated the forcefield. Hepta2 stepped through and the guard put the field back up.
"Computer, locate Admiral Hepta."
"Admiral Hepta is in sickbay," the computer responded.
"I'll see what he's up to," Hepta2 told the guard. He took a hand phaser and a rifle from a nearby table and left the brig area. Heading straight to sickbay, he placed a quick call to Sonak2 to inform her of his status and to get an update on recent events. She had some interesting things to tell.
<Sonak2?>
A turbolift quickly took him to sickbay, where he found his original working near some of the stasis units. The Reckus double was watching him from a few feet and he was the first to notice Hepta2. He also noticed his weapons.
"No shooting in sickbay," the doctor said.
"You have grown soft," Hepta2 replied and shot him without hesitation. The real Hepta turned around, his hands still on the controls of the stasis units. "And you thought you were smart, huh?"
"They'll die if you shoot me," Hepta threatened, but Hepta2 wasn't impressed in the least.
"You wouldn't kill three of your precious colleagues." Despite all their similarities, Hepta2 strongly despised the man standing in front of him. If all Starfleet people were like this--which he was pretty sure they were--it was entirely justified to eradicate them. "Bye bye, Admiral."
He fired his rifle, hitting the old Admiral square in the chest. It was more than he deserved, Hepta2 thought.
<anyone?>
OOC: Reckus2 and Hepta aren't dead... yet.

The pink polar bear stood silent some distance from Nick. It stared at him with an intense gaze, as if trying to figure out where he had come from. Around the bears waste was a golden belt studded with gems and on one side was what looked like a ceremonial sword. The creatures mouth opened.
"How might I help you messenger?" It asked him.
Nick propped himself up on his elbows in the navy blue grass. It felt like silk under his fingertips. He looked around the brightly colored and very odd looking world then back to the polar bear, a rather pink polar bear.
"My friends are in trouble. I don't know how to get help for them," he said.
The bear cocked it's head to one side, as if to say 'How so?'
"I don't know how to explain, I just need to find a way."
"My name is Desh. I will help you find your answers. Let us go see Justu, he will know what to do," Desh held out a paw and pulled the helm officer up to his feet. The bear stood a good 7 feet taller than the former engineer.
"My name is Nick," he replied to the creature.
"Nice to meet you Nick. Please follow me," Desh said and motioned to follow.
After a couple hours of walking through forests of orange leafed trees and fields of purple flowers they arrived at a great structure. It towered over them, rising into the clouds high above them. A huge oak gate stood before them, beside is was a smaller gate, through which a few merchants and travelers entered and exited. It was ornate with with rubies and gold. It seemed the large door was to let caravans in and out, either that or some much larger creature.
"Welcome to Isak travelers. Enjoy your stay." The gate keeper said as Nick and Desh walked through.
They emerged from the gate into a bustling center of activity. All around were shops and carts set up to sell everything and anything. There were no humanoids however as Nick noted. There were Pheasants, Yaks and mice all tending to different shops. All were dressed in fine robes of many colors and sheens.
"A Takanakan feeler feeler sir?" A blue Yak asked holding a fuzzy looking scarf-like object in his hands.
"No thank you, not this time around," Nick apologized politely. Desh waved him to continue as the large bear had walked ahead a few shops.
"We're almost there messenger," he said to the much smaller Tandaran.
They turned a corner and stood suddenly before another large building. It looked like one of those buildings shown from ancient Earth in the middle east area. It was covered in gold and platinum. Vines of yellow colored vines had worked their way over most of the structure covering any sharp looking edges and wear on the building.
The two travelers stepped into the building and were greeted by the smell of roasted peanuts and honey. Through the dim light Nick made out a large creature sitting in the middle of the room on a very plush pillow. It was a magenta Elephant. He looked very old and wise with his eyes closed.
"You come searching answers messenger?" Justu asked of Nick. Nick looked up at Desh who just nodded and motioned him to step forward.
"Yes I have. My friends are in grave danger and I've got no way to help," he said quite bluntly.
Justu nodded his head in acknowledgment, his ears twitched to swat at a fly. He picked up large glass of water and held it up above his head.
"The answer I have is this; you must trust her no matter what."
Nick looked perplexed at the answer, he raised an eyebrow.
"What? Trust who?" Just as he asked Justu dumped the glass of water over Nicks head.

Deep in the bowels of Deck 15, where no crewmember was apparently left to tend the plasma relay rooms, a low-level forcefield protected one particular tool shop, where normally only scanning equipment, spare EPS conduits, and assorted diagnostic equipment was stored. At this moment, however, much more was occupying that space, and Hedin, Starfleet Medical expert on special assignment for Security, was finding the cramped situation increasingly frustrating. It was bad enough to have to conduct his complicated genetic tests and experiments with the rudimentary equipment he had, or try and keep that equipment concealed from a ship full of invaders for this long (his own presence had thankfully been kept entirely secret, due to a fancy isolation suit Security had provided him with, which allowed his life-signs, and even his physical form, to actually be cloaked). It appeared he was being called upon to save the ship almost single-handedly at this point, and he knew it wasn't going to be possible. He needed help, and fast.
Having been sent to the Vesuvius as an undercover agent to monitor the unusual physical effects of spatial distortions in the area, as well to verify reports of strange behavior among crews that had previously entered this space, Hedin had been preparing for a rough ride, and what had transpired certainly qualified. Now, he had been forced into siege mode, and those now in control of the ship were proving to be a cunning adversary. The virus he was attempting to design, intended to target specifically the alien duplicates' genetic signature, was proving to be significantly more elusive than expected, mainly because the aliens' genetic makeup was so...well, alien. But it was going to be vital if the invaders were to be disabled thoroughly and quickly. In order to speed up the testing process before finally confirming the finished product, Hedin needed at least one extra hand, probably two. There wouldn't be much space in here to work, but it would have to suffice.
Hedin, slung his backpack of supplies over one shoulder, pulled the isolation suit helmet over his head, and engaged the cloak. With a slight shimmer of the space around his form, he and his load vanished into thin air, or at least close enough to it for his purposes. He would have to get to the stasis chambers where the ship's medical personnel were being held, several decks up, and past any number of potential risks to his being detected, even through the suit. It was possible, however, according to the vessel schematics given him by Starfleet Security, the details of which he was becoming inordinately familiar with. It would take some quick thinking, some agile movement, and all of it reminded him of his days sneaking past enemy sentry posts to deliver aid to frontier colonies during the Tholian border wars. Such skills were still with him, he hoped, and there were people counting on him, possibly many more if these aliens were to pose a threat to Federation interests in the area. That was reason enough to get moving, no matter the risks to himself or this crew. If it meant stopping this invasion before it could truly begin, all aboard the Vesuvius were expendable, according to Starfleet Security.
Except that, if Hedin had anything to do with it, everyone, including these aliens, would come out of this alive and well. He had promised himself that, and promises weren't something he took lightly.

Having at last made to the stasis wing of Sickbay after bypassing various particularly sensitive sensor arrays in certain areas of the Jeffries Tube network, Hedin took a couple moments to rest and regain his focus. The two medical officers he had come to free were just over there, but first, it was going to be necessary to disable the computer alert subroutines in the stasis chambers. The best way to do that while drawing as little attention as possible would be to use the CMO office terminal, across the main ward from him. Passing by one particular biobed in a corner, however, Hedin noticed an admiral with a severe phaser wound to the chest, apparently not being tended by anyone. Barbarians, he thought. According to a quick tricorder scan, someone would have to do something quickly for the man, or he would likely go into cardiac arrest and die within the next few minutes. But how could he do anything to reveal himself here, with the alien double of Reckus present?
It was a terrible choice. If he went about his business, the admiral would surely die without treatment. If he tried to help, even cloaked, someone would quickly wonder what was going on with this supposedly unconscious patient. Any alien witnesses in the Sickbay would have to be taken out without raising suspicion. And even then, it wouldn't be long before someone realized what was going on, and there would go his chance to carry out the virus plan.
Suddenly, he knew what he had to do. This man's life was in his hands, and deep down, he had no hesitation about doing whatever he could. All of this sneaking around was really not his forte, besides. His phaser ready to fire at the Reckus double, Hedin moved to deactivate the suit's cloaking field, praying all the while that his aim was what it used to be...

"It will be taken care of." She said when she heard a member of her crew was going soft. She didn't like to hear this, and wondered what else could go wrong on this mission. Suddenly Kate appeared on the bridge not happy about not having a double.
"It wasn't necessary to make you a double, and I wasn't in charge of gathering the information or making the doubles. I am having security find out who made the mistake, and they will pay for it." She answered hoping this was enough to appease the woman. She turned to finish her job, and noted the time in which they would reach the planet.
She then gets a call from her Hetpa. "I see admiral, are you heading to sickbay to correct this little error? I hope so, good luck, Sonak out." She said as she wondered how the real Hepta got the jump on his double in the first place. ~Had they not been careful enough?~ She thought. She brought herself back to reality.
"Bridge to Brothis, do we have all the original crew locked away and accounted for?" She said hoping this report would be better than the last several.
"Bridge to engineering, what is your status?" She said.
"Okay keep me updated. Sickbay, what's happening down there?" She said, and didn't get a response, which troubled her. She wondered what had happened to those down there and she doesn't like the silence.
"Ops, show me what is happening in Sickbay, and now." She said, and immediately the view screen had what was happening down there. She watched as someone took the members of her crew hostage.
"Security, we have a threat in sickbay." She announced to Brothis and his crew only.
