"I dont have time to beat about the bush so I am just going to give you your orders. When the others return with Nova, I will leave with him and try and effect a rescue. Elron must still be on Assailant and hunting down the clones. I need you to locate him. You will do this by pretending to be a clone yourself, when he makes his move on you, Paikea and Demeter will be on hand to save you and inform Elron that we are back in control. Do you understand?"
The Vulcan woman positively glowered at the admiral, pulling her robe tighter around her body. Was she ever going to be allowed to sleep? she wondered. Her eyes briefly shot to the old-fashioned clock that sat on a dresser and noted that it was past nine. Fortunately, the ambassador had left earlier and Jatan had put the children to bed. She'd heard them get excited about the ambassador, and had heard them demand that he should be invited again.
Her gaze shifted back to the Trill, though she still hadn't responded to him. "How about an apology?" she then shot back, "because it seems like we were correct all along." She fell silent as he shot a glare of his own right back at her, but she held his gaze.
"Am I to locate Elron?" she queried, "and present myself to him as a clone? Elron knows me admiral, he will see right through it. He knows me quite well, better than you do, it would seem." It was a harsh accusation, and she knew it. She held up her hand, silencing him with a single glare, indicating she wasn't finished.
"I will follow your orders," she answered, "I do not approve of them and I do believe this is extremely foolish, trying to deceive a fleet admiral. Elron would be a fool if he did not test me, to see if I were a clone. I assume you learned how I discovered the corpse to be a clone? He would know, he has his own sources. Elron is no fool admiral, trust me. I have spent a few missions with him, one of which I daresay he will never forget."
Sonak didn't elaborate on the mission at all, leaving Magellan to guess. There was, however only one question left. "Paikea needs to save me from whom, exactly?" she asked, not really wanting to know at all, but feeling she had to asked. Her voice was cold, her tone cutting as she spoke, indicating she had no intention of letting this go without getting every detail she needed to have in order to pull it off. "Am I to assume that I am bait? And if I am a clone, what did the clone do with the real me? Did you consider the implications of your plan in case of failure?"
No, she wasn't happy at all and from across the room, she could see Jatan's eyes burning in the semi-darkness. It was a good thing Lin was no telepath, for he'd not want to know what her husband was thinking. She shook her head ever so slightly and he turned away. "I think you should leave now admiral. If you want me to do this, tomorrow morning is the earliest opportunity. I have not slept in four days, and if you want me to make this a successful operation, you will ensure that I have an undisturbed night of sleep. Good night admiral."

"There is no presenting involved Commodore - you are the bait." Magellan replied tersely, "As for rest, that is a luxury for those not burdened by command. And were I you demanding an apology from a Flag Officer is not a way to ascend in rank. I am beginning Elron was sorely disadvantaged with you as his squadron leader. So Good Night Commodore and lets try and leave our petty grieveances at home and be professional."
Magellan left Sonaks quarters and began to return to his own, he pasued a moment and then changed his mind going to sickbay instead.
At this time of night it was relatively quiet and he had no trouble locating the new Doctor.
"Ah Doctor, I need a word with you. First off, how is Commander Kirk doing?"

Kerry-Anne read a good deal of the reports that she had needed too, and sickbay was very quite the only occupants were herself, Nurse Dorothy Gale and Commander kirk.
Kerry-Anne walked out of her office and walked over to where Dorothy was checking through medical supplies.
βLeave that Dorothyβ¦ letβs have a cup of coffee.β
Dorothy smiled as she looked up from her work and said.
βThat sounds great doctor.β
Kerry-Anne smiled as she looked around before looking back to Dorothy.
βNo one else is here.. Kerry-Anne is fine.β
Walking back in her office with Dorothy following behind Kerry-Anne walked to the replicator then turned and asked.
βWhat is your poison?β
Dorothy looked confused for a second before smiling and saying.
βOh just Vulcan spice tea please.β
Nodding as she smiled Kerry-Anne turned and ordered a Vulcan Spice tea and cup of coffee for herself. Returning to where Dorothy was standing in front of Kerry-Anneβs desk. Kerry-Anne handed Dorothy the tea and motioned to the seat in front of her desk.
Walking back around she sat down in her chair and held the coffee up to her face, she took a deep breath in before taking a sip.
The two chatted for a while as they drank there drinks. After half an hour Kerry-Anne stood up and they both went back to work.
It wasnβt long after before the Admiral she had seen in the briefing room earlier entered sickbay, Kerry-Anne turned to see him as he walked up to her.
"Ah Doctor, I need a word with you. First off, how is Commander Kirk doing?"
Kerry-Anne stood at attention as she reported.
βCommander Kirkβs prognosis is very promising, he is resting at the moment I am reluctant to wake him.. so if you are here to speak to him I will ask you to wait until morning sir.. the more rest he gets the better.β

"Well this is a merry little adventure and no mistake" Tyr added to the end of the conversation, his voice laced with sarcasm. Lin had departed from the conference room now, leaving the three officers to whom he had entrusted his mission sat alone, mulling over a plan. "Well, assuming that base security don't kill us, and that we don't get caught up in Admiral Elron's attempt to kill the clone, this should be just peachy"
He sighed. This mission was turning into a puzzle, wrapped in an enigma, and served with a riddle. Whilst admittedly he did thrive in such situations, it nonetheless disconcerted him that some power was playing games at such a high level within Starfleet Command. His mind was instantly on the present Romulan threat, but he could not discount the Tholians, or even the Klingons for meddling. Nor could he discount a very severe nagging doubt that all of this, ranging from the assassination of Tedak's son, the kidnapping of Vebn, the attack on Assailant, and all of this, even now were the actions of some unseen party that he had yet to identify. He couldn't quite put his finger of what it was that he was feeling, but he knew that he should delve into it.
"Well gentlemen" he began cautiously, fully aware neither officer present liked or trusted him "We have to make the best of a bad situation. I think I've devised a way of kidnapping Nova without anyone realising. We'd all have wuite a difficult part to play, and if any one person got it wrong we'd all be up to our elbows in the proverbial. Commander Apirana, I believe you were a science officer once, aboard the Scavenger?"
<TAG Commander Apirana>
"In that case, I need you to take one of the EMH back up modules and make some adjustments. Alter the physical parameters to match Nova's, and upload his personnel file into it. That way we've got a temporary measure to keep people thinking that he's still around. After that, Commander, you'll have to go and tell the clone Nova that he's about to be assassinated by Sonak. Tell her that she's gone mad, that she thinks he's a clone, that it's that time of the month, whatever makes you happy, but get him to a transporter room, and tell him you're beaming him over to the Assailant shuttlecraft, and that his security should ensure his safe passage. When you beam them over, Commander Parsons, you'll need to be stood by in the computer core control room. You'll have to divert the signal that is Nova into the pattern buffers and keep him there. Then you can rematerialise the HoloNova, that we'll leave in the pattern buffers. I'll put a program into the shuttle computer that will lock down all the systems and maintain comms silence. They'll head straight for Assailant, and in a few days this matter aught to be resolved before the security can arrive and report anything. If they do get there ahead of schedule, then my people will know what to do. Once that's sorted, you can rematerialise the clone somewhere in the bowels of Vesuvius. Somewhere where no-one goes would be preferable, but I leave that decision to you. I'll have that doctor of yours on hand to sort any matters out, and he'll be stowed silent and secure by the time we get underway. So, unless you gentlemen would like to amend anything..." He rose to leave.
<TAG Commanders Apirana and Parsons>
Tyr left the conference room and withdrew a small padd from the back of his waistband, he tapped in a few commands, programming the master override on the shuttles systems. The shuttle would coast to Assailant, showing no transponder signal and with no comms capability at low warp, giving them at least a weeks grace to find the origins of the clones before the abduction of the "real" Nova could be reported.
"Computer, please locate and identify the Vesuvius chief medical officer"
"Doctor Kerry Anne Kennedy is located in the Vesuvius sickbay"
"Alrighty then, computer, initiate a site to site transport to that location, authorisation Lok 221 Pi Delta"
A moment later, in a shimmering swirl of blue light, Tyr appeared in the Vesuvius sickbay, much to the sudden shock of the doctor, nurse and Admiral Lin. At the sight of the latter, Tyr came to attention and gave a surreptitious wink.
"Sorry to interrupt in such an unusual manner sir, but I'm afraid I need Doctor Kennedy to come with me. Matter or medical urgency sir"

Magellan glared at Demeter, When would the man ever learn to stop jumping about and at least make some attempt to blend in.
"In a moment ENSIGN" he said " I am talking to the Doctor." ignoring Demeter he turned back to Kerry Anne,
"Thank you doctor. I do not need to speak to Kirk it was you I needed. In fact I expect it is to do with what the Ensign wants. Very soon Duke Nova will be aboard. I need you to keep him sedated and then prove that he is a clone and more importantly where he was cloned. You should also render Mr Demeter any assistance but be aware that Paikea and Parson out rank Mr Demeter and are leading the mission."
With a nod to the doctor he turned to leave but stopped at the door,
"As you see I make use of conventional doors for entrances and exits you may like to do likewise ensign"

"Well, Commander, as I am technically still relieved of my post, I have no objection," Parsons responded with a smile, knowing Pai was a capable officer and that the relieved first officer would be there to render any assistance as needed.
The Admiral said they were more than cleared and gave a few final instructions and started to leave the room when a young female in a blue uniform walked into the briefing room and stood to attention. βAdmiral, Commanders. I am Doctor Kerry-Anne Kennedy newly assigned Chief Medical Officer.. I was advised by Commodore Reckus to report in to Commander Apirana.β
<Tag Apirana>
The young woman then left the briefing room and Parsons wondered how she was allowed to barge into a private meeting with an Admiral.
Magellan left the trio to their mission and quickly went back down to Sonak.
"Well gentlemen" Ensign Demeter began, "We have to make the best of a bad situation. I think I've devised a way of kidnapping Nova without anyone realising. We'd all have quite a difficult part to play, and if any one person got it wrong we'd all be up to our elbows in the proverbial. Commander Apirana, I believe you were a science officer once, aboard the Scavenger?"
Apirana responded in the affirmative.
(OOC:Are Pai and I working with Demeter or Tyr?)Ensign, I find you crude and obnoxious, but your plan might work. I'll proceed to the station's computer core if you think you can convince Nova to get onto the transporter," Parsons responded looking over at Pai.

Kerry-Anne was speechless she only nodded to Admiral Lin before managing.
βYes Sir.β
"As you see I make use of conventional doors for entrances and exits you may like to do likewise ensign"
Kerry-Anne stifled a chuckle as the Admiral walked out the door.
Kerry-Anne regained her composure as she looked to the Ensign sha smiled kindly as she asked.
βWas there anything else Ensign?... if not I will need time to prepare.β

After the Ensign left Kerry-Anne turned to Dorothy and sighed before saying.
βDorothy we are going to need to pull up Duke Novaβs medical record and be prepared to run in depth blood analysis.β
Dorothy nodded slowly before saying.

"Something bothering you honey?"
Sonak looked up to see Jatan walk back into the bedroom and she frowned at him. "Why do you ask?"
Her husband shrugged, half-smiling as he sat down beside her. "I don't know. You're unusually crabby this morning and you spent half the night tossing and turning. You only do that if something is bothering you."
The Vulcan woman sighed, sat up and propped the pillows up behind her back. "Magellan Lin, that is what is bothering me," she answered shortly, casting her husband a dark look. "First, he places me under house arrest and incommunicado, then he shoots down our investigation regarding Duke Nova, and has him released.."
"That were Admiral Drew's orders," Jatan reminded her, somewhat unnecessarily as his wife had a perfect memory, like most Vulcans.
She nodded absently, fidgeting with the blanket. "At any rate, he did not even seem to consider our evidence, or even our own investigation. And now he made a complete turnabout, has Admiral Nova practically taken prisoner, that is when Parsons and Apirana hunt him down, and on top of that, he wants me to pose as a clone of myself."
Sonak sighed miserably. "How am I to pull that off? Really Jatan, I neither like nor trust him right now."
Jatan laughed. "Well, he was right about you though. It was brave, demanding an apology from a flag admiral. He does outrank you, a fair way at that."
"Perhaps..." She rose from the bed and quietly pulled on a fresh uniform. "I am going to the bridge." She smiled wanly. "I may have an idea.."
"Just be careful?" Jatan stared at her in concern, wondering what she was up to. It concerned him that she was in a dour mood, and wondered how long it'd take before she was her usual self again. Clone or no, she had grieved over Elron's death, and to him it looked as though it still troubled her. Wisely though, he said nothing.
"I will." Without breakfast and without so much as a cup of tea, Sonak headed for the bridge, assuming she was supposed to go there. "Ambassador Tedak, please join me on the bridge. There is something I need to discuss with you."
It took a while before the response came, and when it did, Sonak stiffled a smile. The ambassador didn't sound very awake, even somewhat grouchy. But, he would be there, he confirmed. When she got to the bridge, she marveled at the silence. "Commander Tagert," she greeted the helmsman, "please send the ambassador to my readyroom when he arrives."
She was surprised that Lin wasn't on the bridge, but that suited her just fine. After all, it was her ship and he hadn't assumed command of it. Now, how to pose as a clone, without alarming anyone? Again, she smiled to herself. It was just too bad the ambassador had to suffer a little for it.
She knew she needed to time this, but she knew how long it would take for someone to get from guest quarters to the bridge. Composing her face, she ordered the computer to log a message. "Admiral Nova," she started, pretending to address the Nova clone, knowing that the real Elron would likely be intercepting the message, "all has been taken care of. I have disposed of her as you ordered and now I have assumed command." She paused briefly, noting from the corner of her eyes that Tedak had walked in. Pretending not to have noticed, she continued. "Admiral Lin has come aboard, but he suspects nothing. He has his lapdogs searching the ship for clues, but he shall come up empty."
After she had sent the message, she looked up, feigning surprise. "Ah ambassador, how good of you to come..."
Tedak frowned at her, wondering what that message was all about. Suddenly, coming to the bridge as he had didn't seem like such a good idea at all. "Commodore, are you all right?" he asked carefully.
"Of course," she answered, "should I not be?" She gestured towards the seat across from the desk. "How much did you overhear?" She tapped her computer screen, before locking her gaze on the Romulan. "How much," she demanded.
"Everything," the Romulan answered honestly, "and I am wondering what you're thinking. What do you mean, disposed of her. Of whom?"
"Why, Commodore Sonak Reckus of course," she answered lightly, sensing that he believed her in part, but for the other part doubted it. She needed him to believe it, for it would be crucial that he would report that she was compromised. "And now that you know, I cannot let you leave ambassador. I had hoped to have a decent conversation with you, regarding your knowledge on this situation but alas, you have overheard me sending a message to Nova. Now I must eliminate you."
In a single swift motion, Tedak was on his feet, the chair clattering backwards onto the deck. He had noticed the woman was unarmed, which was of course sensible since he knew the real Sonak refused to wear phasers if it wasn't necessary to do so. A clone would be the same in behaviour, well mostly the same. And since she was a doctor, he had no doubt she had sedatives hidden away in her readyroom.
His heart raced in his abdomen, he felt it beating frantically. Alarmed, he took a few paces back, realising that she was a skilled fighter, and he didn't really want to fight her. Not now. He raced for the door, not looking back.
Sonak watched him leave and smiled softly. "Admiral Lin, please meet me in my readyroom at your earliest convenience. You may want to read my last transmission to starbase 47, I hope it was convincing enough." She paused. "Your ambassador seemed convinced enough, he overheard every word of it. I do believe I have him scared, he just fled my office."
Signing off, she stepped back out on the bridge. "Commander Tagert, what are your current orders?" she queried, trying to be conversational and finding out how much Lin had influenced her crew.

The turbolift doors swooshed open. Standing in the opening was the commanding officer of the new ship Tom had been assigned. She floated onto the bridge, moving like, Tom would say, "most Vulcan's do." "Commander Tagert," she greeted the helmsman, "please send the ambassador to my ready room when he arrives." "Yes Ma'am."
A few moments later The Ambassador arrived on the bridge. Feeling like a secretary, Tom motioned Tedak to the ready room. "She's waitin' for ya." No reply came from the Ambassador other than a nod of the head, but Tom wasn't a big fan of Romulans, so he didn't care if Tedak said hello or not.
Tom had never been much for setting in the captains chair, so when Ambassador Tedak exited the ready room, he had to look behind him to see who was running to the turbo lift. "Security to turbolift 1, I think there's something wrong with the ambassador, check it out."
Commodore Reckus walked out onto the bridge moments after Tedak. As the Commodore approached the helm, Tom raised from his chair. "Commander Tagert, what are your current orders?" The Vulcan asked. Tom was surprised by her question, he stiffened himself standing a little more straight. " Well Ma'am at current, we're still in Space Dock. Admiral Lin ordered me to stay at my post here until we're ready to go. He still hasn't told me are departure time, but said that we was gonna' have ta burn some neutrinos gettin' outta' here when the time come..." Tom thought to himself for a second, then said. "Excuse me Ma'am. I know it's none of my business but I sent security after the Ambassodor...Do you know what was wrong with him?"

"Nothing is wrong with the ambassador, commander," Sonak answered coolly, "he is just in a hurry, no doubt to pass on information to the admiral, or even to his government." She cast him a look full of scorn, one that she would not have given under any other circumstance. As it was, she had a part to play, and part of that was to act slightly different than usual. "No matter what his position, he is and shall always be a Romulan."
Only those that knew her well, knew that she had no aversion at all towards Romulans. In fact, her sister in law was a full Romulan, something very few people knew.
She turned fully to face the helmsman. "Call off security," she ordered, before tapping her combadge. "Commander Apirana, security is in pursuit of Ambassador Tedak, please make sure that the ambassador is not hindered in whatever he is about to do. Follow him at a discreet distance and make sure he remains safe."
Impatiently, she drummed her fingers on the armrest of her seat, wondering what the hold up was with the admiral. While she waited, a thought occurred to her, something that would be considered suspicious on her part. She needed people to start thinking of her as odd, to draw attention somehow, though not too blatantly.
"On second thought," she called, after getting Apirana and Adams on again. "Arrest the ambassador as soon as he exits the turbolift, I do not trust him. I am very certain he is here to sabotage our mission."
The Vulcan turned back to her helmsman, a smile playing across her lips. "Thank you for bringing him to my attention commander," she said sweetly, "I am certain your valour here shall not go unnoticed. Actually, perhaps you would like to chase him down yourself? You would have to be quick, or Apirana might spoil your...fun."

"I am certain your valour here shall not go unnoticed. Actually, perhaps you would like to chase him down yourself? You would have to be quick, or Apirana might spoil your...fun."
That last sentence almost knocked Tom off of his feet, but he stifled his surprise as best he could. "Yes Ma'am, I'll have em' cuffed and stuffed in a jiff." The doors of turbo lift 2 closed in front of him, after he was sure he was alone he said. "Computer hold and seal all turbo lift systems besides lift two. What's the location of Romulan ambassador Tedak?" "Ambassador Tedak is between decks Four and Five, on top of the turbo lift in shaft one." Tom grimaced. He hated chasing people, especially on his knees. "Computer, I'm gonna need a site to site transport to the maintenance crawl space right above the Romulan. Energize."
Tom materialized in the crawl space, he knew that the ships sensors weren't as sensitive in the maintenance areas, and that no one could be monitoring what he was about to do. Tom sat at the entry of the turbo shaft with his phaser leveled at the door in one hand, the other on the floor holding him up as he waited for the hatch to open, and his next move to fall into place.
The two pieces of Duranium separated from each other revealing the Romulan Ambassador crawling into Toms trap. "OK Romulan! I want you to follow me...Now!!! I'm gonna take you where nobody's gonna find ya." Tom shook his phaser in the direction desired then prodded the Romulan in the side with it quite hard.
Tag Tedak
They made their way down trough the decks till Tom said. "OK we're here. Turn to wards me slowly." The Romulan look at him with an odd emotion in his eyes. "OK Tedak. We are going to play a game. You tell me what I want to know or I take you to Commodore Sonak. Now I have never been the ally of a Romulan, but The Commodore was speaking to me like a Romulan Commander...She's Vulcan right?...Why did you run out of her office?...Don't worry were safe no one can find our life signs, or hear what we're saying this close to the deuterium tanks..."

Tedak had literally come from the commodore's office at a full run, wanting to be as far as possible from her, as fast as possible. He knew that sooner or later trouble would find him, though he had tried his very best to follow the admiral's request and stay out of it. Not that he had done anything wrong, but to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, yet again.
Once the turbolift doors closed behind him, he knocked the hatch open and climbed out, while the lift moved to the designated deck. Somewhere along the way, he got to the turbolift shaft and found himself in between decks. Except that he was on the wrong deck and he desperately needed to get to his quarters, so he could send a message to Lin. It bothered him now that he'd not just taken the conventional route, but he feared that doing so would set security on him.
The woman was irrational, he knew that by now. Oh, he was aware of her reputation as a good commanding officer, and her somewhat unconventional ways when it came to being non-emotional. But what he'd witnessed earlier was definitely out, even for her. He crawled as fast as his long robes would allow him, but finally reached an open space where he could stand upright. And that choice appeared to be his undoing. There was no way sensors could actually find him here, but if someone decided to shoot at him, the deuterium tanks could explode. He walked around the tank, with the full intention of going back the way he came when he heard someone yell at him.
"OK Romulan! I want you to follow me...Now!!! I'm gonna take you where nobody's gonna find ya."
At the same time, he felt something being prodded in his side, causing him to wince. Slowly, he turned though that movement was stalled by yet another hard prod, so he merely sighed and raised his hands in signal of defeat. While he knew he could probably take this young officer, he had no desire to fight. Not here.
Another nudge told him to get moving and after a while they found themselves back in a turbolift, moving down the decks. He turned to face his captor when ordered to do so, acutely aware of his current location; he was standing right outside a holding cell. "I don't believe there is any way you can make me reveal what I don't want revealed young man," he answered the first question warily, though anger burned in his eyes. "Yes, she is Vulcan, very much so though her behaviour might suspect otherwise. I ran because I have duties to attend to, investigations to run. I am a diplomat commander, this is what I do."
He looked around the commander, looking for a means to get away, but the weapon still trained at him made him pause. "There are deuterium tanks near the brig?" he asked, in disbelief, "really...well then I suppose you will just have to refain from shooting me, won't you."
The Romulan twisted around, nodding back to the cell behind him. "I presume you want me to get in?" he questioned, taking the right amount of steps back, putting him inside the cell. "As you wish," he added calmly, having no desire to be the cause of a fight, or people getting hurt.

The plan seemed to be going roughly to plan. Demeter, Apirana and parsons were in the process of apprehending Nova and he had just heard that Commodore Sonak had done a sterling job of appearing to be a clone by attacking Ambassador Tedak. To his amusement it appeared Tagert had arrested the Ambassador and had locked him up in the brig. Magellan couldn't resist leaving him there just a little bit longer.
He was on his way to the bridge when he received a call from Demeter and the away team. They had devised a transporter based plan and they expected to beam the Section Admiral to the Vesuvius any moment.
Magellan quickened his step and tapped his comm badge.
=^=Dr Kennedy prepare to receive Duke Nova. Mr Tagert please return to the helm and plot a fast escape course. I leave the destination up to you just get us away from Section 47 space and find us somewhere to hide.=^= He paused a moment and then tapped again =^= Commodore Sonak. Our Team has Nova you must leave the Vesuvius and join the away team immediately. Good Hunting Commodore. Oh and don't let Elron kill you. Magellan Out=^=
TAG Sonak
Instead of heading to the bridge he diverted to sickbay arriving some 5 minutes later.
"Dr Kennedy has our guest arrived ye....."
He paused as in a shimmer of light the Section Admiral materialised before him accompanied by a comm message from Parsons.
=^=Admiral have you received my package=^= =^=Confirmed Commander. Its safe and sound. Good Luck for phase 2=^= he quickly changed comm channels to the bridge.
=^= Okay Tagert hit it. Get us out of here"
It took barely a moment for the Section Admiral to orientate himself. "What on earth are you doing" he began to shout but then his eyes narrowed as he realised his cover was blown. He lurched forward tackling Magellan around the waist sending the pair of them thudding to the floor. Duke Nova was surprisingly strong and despite the difference in years Magellan was struggling to keep his hands from his throat.
"Doctor" He gasped "A little help please"
TAG Tagert and Kenedy and Sonak .... well everyone.

"I presume you want me to get in?" Tedak questioned, taking the right amount of steps back, putting him inside the cell. "As you wish," the Ambassador said. "This ain't what I wanted but, you leave me no other alternatives. Computer activate cell one." Tom looked at the old man for a second thinking to himself. He was sure that something had happened in the Commodores ready room. The way Tedak was running either he had done something wrong or he was in fear for his life. Either way Tom smelt something rotten: Sonak had been confined to quarters prior to Tom's being on the ship; then she was on the bridge of all places after being relieved of command; she was acting strangely no where near the Vulcan norm; and most importantly he had been ordered to leave space dock with out using the standard procedures.
In the middle of his brain storm, Tom was called to the bridge. Almost as soon as he had sat down at the helm the comm system came on again. "Okay Tagert hit it. Get us out of here" "Yes sir." Some where to hide...Tom thought. He thought back to the last spec. opps. mission he had been on a few months back, the one that had cost him his spot on the Jefferson. The magnetic rings of the second planet in the Glanch system could hide a ship from sensors. It was only a few hours away at warp nine.
Tom powered the Vesuvius up and slammed the impulse engines to full. The small starship screamed out of the space stations bay doors, out of the system and into open space. Once they were clear of the stars gravity, Tom went to warp nine on course for Glanch II.
It would take at least three hours for them to reach there destination and so far no one was chasing them. But even with things going (if not just a little bit odd but) smoothly, Tom still felt like something was going on that just wasn't right. He was going to have to watch his back.

Sonak watched Tagert leave the bridge, no doubt chasing after the derelict Romulan. She hated having to play this part, but in order to be convincing, she just had to do it. Yet, she made a mental note to make it up to the ambassador somehow, and apologise to him later. After all, she didn't want anyone to get hurt and she certainly wasn't out to hurt anyone's feelings. That she had willfully scared him was bad enough on her own conscience. Yet, she did what she had to do, as were the admiral's orders, just she had given her own twist to it.
She gazed intently at the main viewscreen, watching the interior of starbase 47. They still weren't going anywhere and it was starting to get to her; she was a starship captain, they belonged out there, not stuck and berthed to a spacedock.
=^= Commodore Sonak. Our Team has Nova you must leave the Vesuvius and join the away team immediately. Good Hunting Commodore. Oh and don't let Elron kill you. Magellan Out=^=
"I shall endeavour to avoid that admiral," she answered, almost cheerful. She rose from her seat, beckoning her trusted night watch officer forward. "Mark, please take a seat and keep her safe? I am certain the admiral will take good care of her, but please keep an eye on him?"
Harper nodded, smiling brightly. It'd been a while since he'd taken a shot at the center seat, and he liked being there. He didn't aspire full command though, no he was quite satisfied with his position as nighttime XO. "Yes ma'am, and may I echo the admiral's wishes of good luck?"
The Vulcan nodded, then walked off the bridge. She walked straight to the airlock, ignoring the stares she received. No doubt the tales had already started aboard the small vessel, even a rumour that wasn't to be spread too far held no hope of being contained. Smiling to herself, she walked on, proud as ever.
Minutes later, she approached her own two officers, and the strange ensign she'd only seen from a distance so far. "Commander Apirana, progress report please." She could see the discomfort of the ensign, and his eagerness. No doubt that there was more to this person than he was letting on. Sonak scrutinised him, covertly while she listened to Apirana.
"Parsons, any leads on Elron?" she queried, "and what is your part in this, Ensign Lok?" She paused. "We should move, we are easy targets here. Once we have a fix on Elron, we should move in as fast as possible. I do not want to risk your lives any longer than is neccessary, or mine for that matter. Move!"
During their conference, Sonak spotted a lone officer bearing the rank of commander first class pass them with a curious look on his face. The officer in question not just passed once, but several times at least, every time stealing a glance in their direction. Nodding once towards Lok, Parsons and Paikea, Sonak excused herself and stepped away.
"Are you looking for someone?" Sonak asked as she approached the lone officer. She listened as he explained he was called Daya and was in fact assigned to the Vesuvius as Chief of Operations. Apparently, someone had failed to tell her that Kirk had been transferred off the ship and assigned elsewhere. She wondered when Kirk would find out, as he was still unconscious the last time she'd seen him. "I am Commodore Sonak Reckus," she answered, "I command the Vesuvius."
She raised an eyebrow at him. "Admiral Lin is taking my ship on a brief expedition, perhaps you could join me and my small team. We are going to draw out Admiral Elron. The idea is for him to attack me, so whatever you do, let that happen." Quickly, she brought him up to speed. "He needs to believe I am a clone, so far I have tricked several senior staff and a diplomat, but if you are on my team, you are need to know. However, do not breathe a word of it to anyone beyond our team. Understood?"
Sonak led Daya back to the others. "This is Commander Daya, he shall be joining our hunt," she explained. "Any questions?"

Ensign Lok's plan had worked and he, Parsons, and Apirana were now awaiting the arrival of the Commodore as Admiral Nova should have been materializing in the Vesuvius' sickbay. The three officers were were to remain on the station and wait for the Commodore to complete the second part of the plan, luring out Admiral Elron with Sonak as bait.
The Vesuvius XO tapped his combadge,
=^=Admiral have you received my package=^=
=^=Confirmed Commander. Its safe and sound. Good Luck for phase 2=^= came the response from Admiral Lin.
"Parsons to Apirana and Lok, the package is secure, initiate phase two, the Commodore should be in position."
The three officers met up a short time later at the desinated meeting point with the Commodore.
<TAG Pai and Lok>
Minutes later, Sonak approached the three of them. "Commander Apirana, progress report please." Parsons could see the Commodore sizing up Ensign Lok as she waited for a response.
<TAG Apirana>
"Parsons, any leads on Elron?" she queried, "and what is your part in this, Ensign Lok?" She paused.
"Nothing so far Commodore, but I would not be surprised if he were nearby, and this meeting would surely be of interest to him."
The Commodore seemed to agree, "We should move, we are easy targets here. Once we have a fix on Elron, we should move in as fast as possible. I do not want to risk your lives any longer than is neccessary, or mine for that matter. Move!"
During their conference, Parsons noticed a man in a Starfleet commander's uniform pass by more than once. Adam recognized him as a former crewmate. The man's name was Daya. He and Parsons had served together on the Scavenger along with Apirana. Parsons was careful not to acknowledge him for fear he would approach them, as was Pai. Daya was a man that could be trusted, a former Chief of Tactical and Security on the Scavenger, but this meeting... this whole situation... would be far to complicated to explain.
Apparently, someone had failed to tell any of them that Kirk had been transferred off the ship and assigned elsewhere. As far as any of them knew, Kirk was still still unconscious in sickbay. "I am Commodore Sonak Reckus," she answered, "I command the Vesuvius."
She raised an eyebrow at him. "Admiral Lin is taking my ship on a brief expedition, perhaps you could join me and my small team. We are going to draw out Admiral Elron. Sonak led Daya back to the others. "This is Commander Daya, he shall be joining our hunt," she explained. "Any questions?"
Parsons smirked at Pai, "No Commodore, Commander Daya served with Commander Apirana and me on board the Scavenger. He was the Tactical and Security Chief. Good to see you again, Commander. " Parsons offered a hand.

ooc Thanks for the tag, i think i would have had problems finding a way into the story,.
IC:
Daya had arrived on station less than an hour ago, having only received his orders a few hours before that. He was saddened to hear that he was taking over for his borg friend Kirk, but also knew that worse things have happened. He had been walking around the corrider he was currently in for the better part of ten minutes, each time passing by a small group of officers, two of which he knew. Knowing from his security training not to interrupt in case of a need to know situation, he kept walking around the hallway. Finally he was stopped by the commodore, who inquired to him "Are you looking for someone?" Sonak asked as she approached the lone officer. She listened as he explained he was called Daya and was in fact assigned to the Vesuvius as Chief of Operations. Apparently, someone had failed to tell her that Kirk had been transferred off the ship and assigned elsewhere. Sonak led Daya back to the others. "This is Commander Daya, he shall be joining our hunt," she explained. "Any questions?" Daya took a moment to let the information soak in as he shook hands with Parsons and Apirana.
Parsons smirked at Pai, "No Commodore, Commander Daya served with Commander Apirana and me on board the Scavenger. He was the Tactical and Security Chief. Good to see you again, Commander. " Parsons offered a hand. "Wish i could say its good to see you both as well, but under the circumstances i think it can wait for now.
OOC and now unfortunately, i am unsure where to take, it so i leave it off to you three

Paikea had been paying attention to what Commander Parsons and Commodore Reckus had been saying, but the arrival of Daya changed everything for young commander. While current history proved that Paikea didn't like everyone he served with, Daya was the first person he learned to not like. He could easily remember the first time he had met Daya at the Academy. Paikea was worried that he was trying to make a move on Katie. When they served on the Scavenger, things were even worse. Daya and Paikea barely spoke to each other, even though they worked together for a very long time.
"Daya, we all appreciate the help, but don't think you are in charge of this operation, Admiral Lin and Commodore Reckus have given us clearly defined orders and we are to follow them at all times," Paikea said to Daya, who was known to do things his own way.
(Daya)
"Commodore please know that if you life is in immediate danger, I will act," Paikea said to the Vulcan woman in front of her. Personal feelings aside, Commodore Reckus was an irreplaceable officer and leader," while I agree with your plan, you need to be kept safe."

Kerry-Anne waited in sickbay for Section Admiral Novaβs clone to arrive, she had found the story a little hard to believe but Admiral Lin was very convincing. She stood next to Dorothy who Kerry-Anne had asked to assist her during the examination of the Nova clone.
They shared a nervouse look before Admiral Lin rather hastily entered sickbay.
"Dr Kennedy has our guest arrived ye....."
he said, he paused and looked to his left, Kerry-Anne followed his eyeline until she saw the beginnings of the blue transporter beam appear in the room.
In the space of a few short seconds Lin had held a brief converstion with someone Kerry-Anne had yet to meet, she had not paid attention to the words that Lin spoke rather she nodded at Dorothy to give her the sedative they had prepared.
"What on earth are you doing" the Nova clone bellowed and for a moment Kennedy thought perhaps he was the real person however that thought quickly faded from her mind when the Nova clone lunged at Admiral Lin tackling him to the ground.
Admiral Lin struggled for a few moments before Kerry-Anne heard.
"Doctor" He gasped "A little help please"
She rushed over strong sedative filled hypospray in hand, she aimed for Nova and pushed the hypo into him, the noise it made told her it worked and about five seconds later, Nova collapsed on top of Lin.
Kerry-Anne rolled Nova off of Lin and offered him her hand to get him off the floor.
Kerry turned her head and looked to Dorothy and said.
βBegin the scans.β
She looked back to Lin and asked. "Are you alright Sir."

"Yes Thank you doctor." Magellan smiled "Your intervention was most welcome. Get to work on him. Run a full DNA sequence see what clues you can pick up there must be something that can tell us where he was cloned. I ll be on the bridge."
Magellan left the Doctor to her work and made his way back up the ship to the bridge.
"Mr Tagert I assume we got away clean and we werent followed?"

Tom was still at his post when the Admiral walked onto the bridge. 'This is turning out to be an odd trip. First the commodore is almost making eyes at me, then she disappears and Lin is back on board. I've got to find out what's been going on before I get charged with conspiracy against the Federation. "Good place to hide", "Just leave when I say." This has court marshal all over it.'
"Mr Tagert I assume we got away clean and we weren't followed?"
"Yes sir. The Hood tried ta catch us, but I stopped a few time ta change the vector of our course. Between the fifth n' seventh correction I ionized our trail. I won't say never, but I'm pretty sure they ain't gonna be able ta catch our trail."
"Very good. And where exactly are we?"
"Thirty minuets from Glanch II, a pre-warp society. The rings around Glanch II got enough denabite in em' to hide Luna from sensors. The federation ain't got no "Official" dealings with the Glans, but they live under water. The entire planet's covered by ocean, and any space craft should be sub light at best."
"I see. Whilst we seem safe could you go down to the brig and let Ambassador Tedak out. Tell him I apologize and then rejoin me in the ready room with him. Thank you."
"Yes sir." Tom showed no indifference to the command. "Yep lock em' up...let em' out...lock em' up...let em' out." He didn't say any thing else in the turbo lift out loud after that, the ship recorded every thing. 'I'm gonna have to file a report in my log that says I think somethin's wrong with the Admiral, or the dukey's gonna splat on my head when the big dogs come a squatin'.'
Tom stopped a couple of places before he arrived at the brig. First by his quarters to make a log entry, then to the armory to grab up a type 1 phaser, (Something small enough to hide in his boot.) and last before heading back to the bridge, he stopped at the brig to pick up what he figured to be a rather perturbed Romulan. Tom stood at full attention in front of the force field. "Sir I'm here ta escort ya' to the bridge. Admiral Lin told me ta give ya' his apologies fer your being incarcerated."
Tag Tedak
"Yes sir. Sorry sir."Tom said but he wasn't really sorry.

Tyr rested himself lightly on the wall during the Vesuvius' crew's little cabal, politely deflecting the question that the Commodore posed to him.
"Oh me Commodore, I think Admiral Lin posted me here to provide you with...inspirational speeches as and when you need them, and things like that"
He knew the Vesuvius crew didn't like him on the grounds of how he had previously treated Parsons during the interview session, and he knew Sonak wouldn't trust him purely on the grounds of the manner in which he had come aboard her ship, as part of something tantamount to an inquisition. The arrival of a new officer intrigued him even further though, a Commander Daya, with whom it appeared Commander Apirana had a certain level of animosity. If he ever needed to play them off against each other this would come in handy, although considering that this appeared to be the most dysfunctional crew in the fleet, he doubted he would have to work that hard. Hearing Apirana's vow to protect the Commodore no matter what drew a slight sirk from him though, and he came away from leaning on the wall to speak up.
"I wouldn't worry about that too much Commander, contrary to whatever you may think, Starfleet doesn't enjoy putting it's flag officers in harms way. Whatever we consider will keep the Commodore safe at all times All you and I need to worry about is to keep our eyes on the prize. Ok?"
<TAG Commander Apirana>
"If we want to draw the Fleet Admiral out Commodore, then as a "clone" you're going to have to do something very out of character and very dangerous that will force him to act. I'm under the impression that you know Admiral Elron on a personal basis? In which case you're probably the best person here to decide what sort of action would force him into a course of action against you"
<TAG Commodore Reckus>
"We must proceed to draw him out in an open space however. A confined area would likely cuase him to use some remote means of assassination. If we do it publicly, say on the promenade, then there's a better chance of him making the attempt in person"
He looked around at the group, his eyes then settling on Commander Parsons.
"Mr Parsons, correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe one of your hobbies is target shooting?" He smiled. "I believe I know how we're going to capture Admiral Elron"

While listening to all suggestions given, Sonak couldn't help but notice the tension increasing with the arrival of Daya. "Gentlemen," she cut in sharply, "I assume you do not need me to remind you that you are all Starfleet officers, and should be above petty arguments between yourselves. Especially while you are on duty and have a dangerous task to perform?"
She wasn't too pleased with their behaviour, and Lok's smart response didn't help that situation either. "I know I have to do something uncharacteristic," she snapped at him, though her expression never changed; she held it perfectly neutral with little effort on her part. "I already ordered Ambassador Tedak's arrest, after arranging for him to overhear a message that detailed my own displacement."
She paused for several minutes, glancing from one officer to the next, holding their gazes until some of them were forced to look away. "Adam, please know that what I do now is not personal," she finally spoke, "though that refers to all of you. It is necessary for the moment, and there will be no lasting injury...I hope."
Sonak wasn't surprised to see their eyes widen in alarm as she walked away a few paces, giving the pretence of preceding them further down the promenade. When she assumed she was a suitable distance away, she pulled out her phaser, whirled around and fired at both Adam and Demeter, watching them crumple to the ground. She fired off a few near misses at Daya and Paikea, before breaking into a run. Fortunately, they'd be able to easily track her across the station, since she made sure they were equipped with the means to do so.
If all went right, she would never be in any real danger, but accidents of course could happen. Any unforseen circumstance was one that should be avoided at all cost, or people would or could get killed.

Tedak alternated between just sitting on the bunk in the cell and pacing the length of the cell. He ignored the brig officer's jibes about wearing thin the carpet or even the deck itself, since there wasn't really a carpet worth mentioning in the cell at all.
He wondered why the commodore had ordered his arrest and made up his mind about filing a complaint about it. He actually didn't know what bothered him more, being locked up for nothing, or that Lin hadn't overruled her and had ordered his release.
Obediently, he stepped back when told to do so as the guard approached with what appeared to be a plate of food. He kept his eyes on the phaser the man carried, but still kept a safe distance, making no move until the forcefield was snapped back in place. He'd had experience enough with trigger happy brig officers, especially since this wasn't the first time he'd been locked up. Of course, there had been various reasons in the past, some justified, some not at all. Once even had been for his own safety, which he could understand.
Ignoring the food, he returned to pacing, grimacing as the guard yelled at him to stop or be stunned. He stopped pacing as he had no desire to be rendered unconscious and returned to the cot. He looked up when he heard someone approach, recognising Tagert immediately.
"Sir I'm here ta escort ya' to the bridge. Admiral Lin told me ta give ya' his apologies fer your being incarcerated."
"You were only following orders commander," the Romulan replied tersely, "I'm just surprised it took Lin so long. I'm willing to bet he enjoyed this, at least a little." He rose from the cot and stepped out once the forcefield was lowered.
"Yes sir. Sorry sir." Tom said but he wasn't really sorry.
"Well then, take me to the bridge," the diplomat ordered, taking note of the young man's disapproving features. It was obvious that this officer wasn't too fond of being in close presence to a Romulan.
"Yes sir."
Sighing, Tedak waited for him to lead the way. "What are you waiting for commander?" he queried, raising his eyebrows in sheer annoyance, "if we wait any longer we might as well shoot root here." It was equally obvious that Tagert was waiting for something or someone, but Tedak had no idea what to expect right now. He wasn't entirely comfortable in the young commander's presence, and would rather be on the bridge sooner rather than later, before something else untoward could turn up.
"After you sir."
"Figures," the Romulan murmured as he lead the way. He kept a moderate pace, walking neither too slow nor too fast even though he was a man in a hurry. With Tagert in tow, he stepped into the nearest turbolift. "Bridge," he ordered.
Seconds later, the two men emerged on the bridge and the Romulan crossed straight over to the Trill admiral who was sat in the center seat. "Where is the commodore?" he asked coldly, "you know very well I don't like being deceived and I've got this nagging feeling that I've been used, set up if you like. And I don't like being locked up without decent explanation or even sufficient cause either. I have done nothing wrong, and you know that as well as I do admiral. I believe I'm owed an explanation."
He crossed his arms over his chest, while glaring down at Lin. "I'm waiting."

"Yes," Parsons said slowly, giving the Bajoran Ensign a weary look.
Parsons eyes widened in alarm as he remembered the attack by the Commodore in her office not that long ago. He did not have a chance to reflect long on the unfortunate events that episode led to before Sonak walked away a few paces, then pulled out her phaser, whirled around and fired at both Adam and Demeter. Both men crumpled to the ground. She fired off a few near misses at Daya and Paikea, before breaking into a run.
Parsons didn't lose consciousness, but managed to yell "Go after her, she's a clone!" to Pai and Daya as he writhed on the ground. Knowing Lok was also hit almost made the pain worth while. Adam just hoped Admiral Elron had been monitoring the situation.
A few people on the promenade came to the downed officers' aid once the Commodore was out of site, and after a couple of minutes Parsons was on his feet trying to explain what happened to station security.
